Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"KP! BIG SITCH! DIRE SITCH! YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED!" "Ron, calm down. Breathe in...," "..." "..." "..." "You can breathe out no--" "DRAKKEN OPENED A CAFÉ ACROSS THE STREET FROM BUENO NACHO AND HE'S TRYING TO GET THEM TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS SO HE CAN RENT THEIR BUILDING AND WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!!." "Wait--, slow down; Drakken opened a Café?" "COME ON AND TAKE A LOOK FOR YOURSELF!"
At long last, I have finally finished this massive project! I got inspired by those 'anime pop-up restaurants', Disney park foods and themed cafés and I wanted to try and take my own spin on it with a Kim Possible themed menu! To save you all some travel ticket money to my house, I've written down the recipes/links to all of these food items so you can make these yourself in real life! The food items are all based on things I've eaten/made before and I hope that my picks are to your liking! DRINKS: Quench your thirst, and OBEY: [coming soon] The Ronfactor: [coming soon] It's 'juiced' you: [coming soon] She's got the green magic MAIN DISHES: The Naco: [coming soon] Basic average meal: [coming soon] Dumpling: [coming soon] I.H.O.A.T.: [coming soon] What is that? (NOTE: This is the master post so this post won't be rebloggable until I finished posting all recipes!)
Massive thanks to @bcbdrums, @gothicthundra, @selfox, @creatorping and @legendary-guest for talking with me during the process of this project!

Imagine a cafe that recreates food from games, shows, movies, and anime. Like they rotate the selection every month or so and recreate food like fire flakes from Atla, drinks from the monstro lounge (twst), or the tart Ace had to make for Riddle in book 1 (Twst). Just in general recreating different food from fiction.

All fantasy and sci fi writers should consider giving one of their characters an allergy to a common fictional food in their world.

For the Star Trek Ask Game, 🍽️(What alien food/drink would you want to try?) sounds fun!
I would love to style myself an adventurous eater, but nope! Jumja stick is candy, right? So maybe that. Or Hasperat if I’m feeling spicy.
I found out plomeek just translates to “vegetable” in the Vulcan dictionary, so now I kind of want to try as many varieties of “plomeek soup” as possible!
Tea, booze, and desserts are probably all fair game.
ETA: I wonder if the human custom of wrapping filling in dough and frying it is popular anywhere else in the universe. If not I bet it catches on.
Thanks for the ask!

DINE 'N CRIME: SHE'S GOT THE GREEN MAGIC
Tumblr media
This recipe is part of the menu of 'Chez Molerat vs Dine 'n Crime'.
HOW TO PREPARE THE TAPIOCA. Ingredients: - Black Tapioca pearls - Brown sugar (2 to 3 tbsp)
Black Tapioca pearls can be easily purchased from local Asian grocery stores or online. The brand I use is 'Wu Fu Yuan black Tapioca pearls - black sugar flavour' (they also have other colours). Despite it's name, it doesn't hold much flavour by itself hence why we need the brown sugar. Want to make your own Tapioca pearls from scratch? Follow this great recipe by Emmymade (I tried it myself, it was fun and pretty tasty, but I only recommend doing this when you got time on your hands). Instructions: - Cook the Tapioca pearls as instructed on the package (or according to Emmy's recipe). - Once fully cooked, drain the pearls from the liquid and add 2 to 3 table spoons of brown sugar. - Cook the tapioca in the sugar on low/middle low heat until the crystals are disolved and you end up with a thick syrupy consistency. Be careful to not burn the sugar, keep stirring! - Turn off the stove and set aside. HOW TO PREPARE THE MATCHA LATTE. Ingredients: - Milk (Less than 1 cup/Less than 200ml... at least for this glass) - Hot water (1 to 2 tbsp for mixing the Matcha powder) - Matcha powder (2 tsp) Matcha powder, like the Tapioca pearls, can be obtained from said places. If you do NOT like the taste of Matcha, alternatively you can switch it out with Melon (specifically Cantaloupe or Honeydew) powder or Pandan. If you use the Pandan powder, make sure it's specifically for 'instant milk drinks'. These two alternative methods might also give you a way greener result than the Matcha. Instructions: - Combine the hotwater with Matcha powder in a seperate cup. If you have a powerdrill, now is the time to use it; If not, I suggest either a hand held milkfrother or a spoon (if you use a spoon make sure that the Matcha is thorouhgly dissolved). If you use the Melon or Pandan powder, this same step counts unless the instruction package tells you otherwise. - Once the Matcha is dissolved, add the Milk and stir it well until fully combined. PREPPING AND DECORATING THE GLASS - Using a spoon, pick a few Tapioca pearls from the syrup and slowly let them slide along the walls of the glass. Use the syrup to decorate more parts of the inside. - Add the Tapioca pearls (and optional ice cubes/crushed ice). - Pour the Matcha latte in the glass. - Foam Milk with the milkfrother and add ontop of the drink. - Drizzle the left over sugar syrup over the top and serve! So you must be wondering, dear reader; "Why don't I see the Milkfoam on top of the photo?" The answer is simple... I was out of Milk by the end of making this drink and if I were to make this, again (yes, this is my second attempt to make a pretty glass for just a photo) I could never fit into a size six.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this recipe!

Excuse me if this has been asked before, or has no answer, but what's in a thrice-fried pie?
Excellent question!
A Thrice Fried Pie (Tri-Pie if your tongue doesn't twist that way) can be made with a variety of the different fillings. The formula is this:
Start with a fried food (french fries, tater tots, hushpuppies, chicken nuggets, churros, mozzarella sticks. anything that's delicious and bad for you) that's your filling and the first of the three fryings.
Wrap this filling in a dough. You can throw some sauce or cheese or chocolate chips in there too if you want. Then you fry the whole thing to cook the dough. That's the second frying.
Then you dip the whole thing in a light batter and fry it again. That's the third frying.
Dust with powdered sugar and serve with a dipping sauce of your choice. I'd recommend a pineapple-habenero hot sauce or malt vinegar.
And ask the vendor for extra"crispies". The third fry sheds in the frying oil and makes these little crunchy whispy bits of fried batter that are absolutely delicious. You usually get some with the pie itself but if you ask they'll throw the extras in and they're nearly as good as the pie itself.

Dwarves and Cave Slime Farming
Dwarves farm cave slimes for food the way we (and other Avalorian peoples) farm normal animals. Cave slime is the major ingredient in a common dwarves dish called Rumikla– it's literally just cave slime mixed with salt and other fictional edible minerals. It has a nice, tangy flavor.
Farmers need to be careful where they raise their cave slimes, as they absorb the minerals from the ground. Many laws were put into place requiring that an area be checked for dangerous substances before cave slimes can be farmed there, after an entire town was nearly wiped out due to them ingesting cave slime that has absorbed arsenic. Thankfully, magic makes checking less of a lengthy endeavor than it would on Earth.

If you think that your world has unrealistic cousine.
Those are two sandwiches I made this afternoon.
The left one is with rose jam. Rose, jam. It smells like those skin-care products and stuff it's really weird and it tastes good. But think about it once more - Rose. Jam. Someone grew roses, those pretty flowers, and then put them in a stew and mashed them and turned into a preserve.
Next, the one to the right.
It's a hot pepper jam sandwich.
Hot. Pepper. Jam. It tastes hot as hell and sweet like damn.
It's just wrong for my tongue to taste this. It feels illegal. But those exist.
