could you write the neighborhood with a sweetheart! neighbor?

they find trinkets whenever they’re walking outside to relax in whatever spot they find comfy/involved in the regular shenanigans and gift it to their neighbors once they’re distracted doing something else (they remind me of a crow now that i think about it 😭)

whether that’d be a butterfly charm, a pie hair -tie or a pop soda metal cap, they’ll try to make it look like its brand new again if its rusted and the paint is worn off.

share slices of fruit and lend an ear when they find them feeling down or in a pickle

the neighbor can’t tell jokes for the life of them so they pay for their supplies with bets (long time card game rivals with howdy)

people can’t tell if they’re in a romantic or platonic relationship with any of the cast.

for them, its somewhat in between but they love and care for their neighbors regardless

𖤐 — Everyone in the neighborhood knew what type of person you were (in a positive way of course!). You looked out for them, frequently gave them gifts, lend an ear for them and hanged out with them as much as you could.

𖤐 — It wasn't surprising that you came back with something new to give them as a gift, handing it to one of your neighbors while saying its something that reminded you of them.

𖤐 — You were right there whenever one of your neighbors was feeling down, listening to what they have to say, lending them advice (if you're good at it!) And giving as much comfort as you could to turn their mood better.

𖤐 — One thing you don't necessarily understand, would be jokes. Whenever Barnaby cracks a joke or two, muttering on how you don't get it while receiving a pat on the back with a chuckle from Barnaby (who tries to explain the joke in the way you'd understand), was something that would happen from time to time.

𖤐 — Not that anybody was really bothered from it of course! You'll understand it some day, for the time being, you'll be hearing Barnabys simple knock knock jokes!

𖤐 — Often it would happen that you'd pay for your supplies with a simple card game, setting bets with Howdy while either winning or losing the bet. It is, of course some small friendly rivalry between the both of you, ending it with a laugh and waving you goodbye after the card games for your supplies.

𖤐 — Something that's entirely different with each of your neighbors, is when you hang out with them. It was a difference experience with each of them which never got boring or too repetitive.

𖤐 — May it be some fun games with Julie (maybe even sports! Of course, if you want to take the risk with an accident), talking about bugs with Frank, listening to Barnabys jokes and attempting to crack one on your own (even though you end up telling your joke completely wrong), riddles or even another round of card games with Howdy, helping Eddie deliver mails around the neighborhood (if he allows it), baking with Poppy, acting out a random play Sally had in mind or even painting with Wally (if you can paint, of course!).

𖤐 — Another thing that has occasionally happened, was that one of the neighbors (or anybody outside of the neighborhood) falsely assuming you're dating someone from the neighborhood, and pop the question the moment they could. Which you nicely declined, shaking your head and saying you guys are only friends.

𖤐 — Everyone in the neighborhood was your friend. You loved them dearly and appreciated them a lot (hence the constant gifts and trinkets you give them). You cared for them deeply, considered them a new found family even.

𖤐 — it's something you never want to change, and hopefully never will change on it's own.

The do‘s and don’ts of fic reviews

Because a friend told me she never knows what to write and then never comments, but wants to learn how to do better, I thought I’d compile a list, and maybe it will help someone else as well!

As always, this is unofficial and just from my personal experience writing and reading fic, and talking with other fic authors.

What to comment

Honestly, authors love friendly comments, no matter how small. Here are some ideas for short comments you can write to pretty much any fic you enjoyed:

If you want to write something a bit longer, you can for example

Tell the author where you have been reading the fic or what you were doing while reading it

Tell the author what you should have been doing instead of reading fanfic (and that it was worth it to read the fic)

Copy a passage (or several) from the fic you particularly enjoyed

Did the author write a note at the end or beginning of the fic? Maybe even ask a question? Sometimes you can reply to author’s notes in your comment

How did the fic make you feel? Happy, made you cry, made you laugh, made you jealous of a character, or made you want to punch an antagonistic character’s nose in? Write it in the comment!

Is it your first fic in a fandom or with a ship? Your favorite fic in a fandom, or with a specific character? Did you read it in one go? Did you savour it slowly reading over days or weeks? Have you enjoyed every update of a multi-chapter? Do you wish you could read it again for the first time? Write anything you want to let the author know about your reading experience!

Is there a character you particularly enjoyed in that fic/chapter? Tell the author you think they wrote xy character really well!

You can always start or finish your comment with one of the suggestions from the short comments to make sure the author knows you liked it :)

If you really don’t know what to write, or are reading fic in a language not your own (though authors usually don’t mind you commenting in your native language) and aren’t comfortable commenting in either language, you can also leave emojis as comments, for example variations of:

Don’ts

There isn’t much you can do wrong when writing comments on fic, but there are a few things you should keep in mind:

don’t criticize (unless negative critics/what they can do better has been specifically asked for by the author, and then stick to the kind of criticism asked for, and best try to include something positive too to soften the blow)

don’t demand more/ask for updates - you can tell the author you’d read it if they wrote more, but don’t put pressure on them, you don’t know what’s happening in their lives right now and for what reason new entries might have slowed down, and they don’t owe you regular or any updates!

don’t tell them what to write (unless the author is taking prompts, and in most cases the comment section is not the right place for prompts, check what the author specified)

Remember: Fan fiction are free, from fans for fans, so etiquette is a bit different than in the Amazon reviews of books you paid good money for! Fic authors don’t have to cater to you, just enjoy that there are fics shared with the fandom :) If you don’t like something, or don’t like a part of something, either close the tab or quietly ignore the issue and just enjoy the parts you do like.

And in general, to end this on a positive note:

Yes, you can comment on older fanfics!

Yes, comment on several fics in a row if you’re reading through fics by one author!

Yes, comment on as many chapters of the same fic as you like!

Yes, you can make art for the fic and tell the author about it!

Yes, absolutely tell the author if you’re still thinking about a fic hours/days/years… after reading it!

Yes, send authors asks on tumblr/other sites talking about how you love their fics, if they link these sites in the author’s notes! (But also comment on Ao3)

Yes, you can comment/review even if you don’t have an account (at least on Ao3 and ffnet)!

Yes, please let the author know if you’re reading a fic for a second time, even if you just write ‘re-read kudos!’

The best comments are also written directly on the site the fanfiction got posted on (so usually ao3/ffnet and not tumblr/discord), both because it makes the note count higher, and because then the comment won’t quickly get buried under unrelated messages or posts.

If you want to leave long comments about different parts of a fic or chapter, you can also make use of the floating Ao3 comment box! It allows you to type your comment while you're still reading, without having to leave the page!

hi!! this agere blog has really helped me and I wanted to ask for some advice, but its okay if you dont want to answer. I only found out that I regress this year, due to trauma, and it's still confusing and scary to me, and I'm really insecure and ashamed about it. I made a blog for it and it has helped me a lot to start accepting it, as well as your blog and others. But im still really scared of being "outed" or people who I know finding out and judging me. sometimes I post agere art and theres been a couple where someone has recognised my style and asked me (on my main) about it. It wasnt anything mean, all positive, but I really didnt like it. I have in my bio that if you recognise me then dont say anything but that didnt stop it. I dont know what to do but i dont want to isolate myself more from the agere community. Have you dealt with something like this before?

I'm honored you trust me with this question, and feel free to dm me if you'd like to talk one on one! As for advice, I've been in your shoes before. When I first started this blog, I was so afraid someone might find it that I changed my whole style. But over time, it started to become less fun and more exhausting. Eventually I started using my regular style, and people did recognize it. I got a few asks or messages about it, and at first I was scared. I just ignored them or blocked them. And honestly, I still kinda just ignore them is they're on anon lol. But I also started telling them that it was me, and universally I got good responses!

I know it's hard, and it sucks that people aren't respecting your boundaries. That's a problem with them, not with you. My best advice is to embrace it even though it's scary. In my experience, people have been a lot more open minded and accepting than I expected. I started this blog as a secret, but now I've told pretty much all of my loved ones. All of them were just happy that I was doing something that made me feel safe. If anything, remember this: this is a part of you that is meant to help you. It's meant to make you feel safe, and process your emotions. That is a good thing. What you are doing is not bad, and if people think it is, they're wrong. People being wrong about you or judging you unfairly says nothing of you're actual worth. I know it seems scary right now, but as you start to accept this part of yourself, it will be easier and easier to share it. The people you love want you to be happy, remember that.

CHARACTER INFO SHEET

Name: daisuke niwa / dark mousy Name meaning:

丹羽大助 (niwa daisuke) 丹: red 羽: plumes, feathers, wings 大: big or 'great' 助: help/assistance

dark's name is usually rendered in katakana as ダーク (マウジ). dark: the absence of light in a place. mousy: of or like a mouse/shy or timid. lol Alias: generally speaking, they are each other's aliases. Ethnicity: jp!

THREE HEADCANONS YOU’VE NEVER TOLD ANYONE:

💜 dark has a very good singing voice, (here's onosaka's travelog for an example,) but he doesn't use it often because he doesn't really have a reason to or much interest in singing for himself. somebody has to pull him in for a duet sometime i think 💜 he says he 'has no choice' when it comes to wearing emiko (daisuke's mom's) outfits for him and daisuke, but that's a lie. he absolutely hates looking shabby and is the only reason why daisuke looks slightly above boring and presentable in verses like genshin sometimes 💜 he's really not used to eating. you'd assume he didn't even need to eat since he never brings up human necessities + usually leaves it all to daisuke to handle. but the body still needs calories, even if eating is still really weird for him to do, like, personally. 💗 painting is basically daisuke's 'thing,' but he has and will try a lot of other artistic endeavors! this includes things like flower arrangements, sculpting, pottery... it's okay if he isn't any good, he just wants to enjoy everything that he can. inviting him out to a workshop or something similar is an experience and memory he'd really treasure. 💗 he wants to be taller..... without having to transform into dark. he's a late bloomer, and is generally one of the shorter people in his class. it's not for the sake of height alone that he wants to be taller, though. he just wants people to stop making fun of him and to come off as manlier, even if just by a little. 💗 his thoughts are packed full of all of the artworks he's ever met. when he isn't thinking about dark, then he's thinking about freedert and the second hand of time, or rokuto/insomnia. he sincerely wishes he could have had even just a little more time with freedert, or a better, genuine conversation with rokuto, especially since rokuto was his 'best friend', (even if the memories/idea had been planted into his head by rokuto in the first place.) it's complicated- it doesn't help there isn't really anyone daisuke can usually talk about these sorts of things with aside from dark himself, either.

THREE THINGS YOUR CHARACTER LIKES DOING IN THEIR FREE TIME:

💜 sleeping. 💜 flirting. 💜 stealing. look he technically doesn't get a lot of free time okay

💗 painting. this remains number one for daisuke! 💗 calling/talking to or outright visiting any of his friends. daisuke's the sort to run over just to check up on anybody if he's worried about them at all, but he really does enjoy being with others since he has some unsettled feelings of loneliness and isolation himself sometimes. 💗 general loafing around. napping in the sun, watching tv, petting and feeding wiz, his life is pretty busy (and plagued with crazy amounts of anxiety,) so the rare moments when he can just kind of relax and do nothing are valued by him.

💜 manisumea. dnangel's lilith figure + the artwork that had freed dark from imprisonment once upon a time. they share a sort of relationship that dark will most likely never have with anyone else; that of an extremely old and familiar friend who was there for him. she's a part of baku/defective now, and dark is relieved that she didn't have to break and perish in front of his eyes like so many other artworks. 💜 yuu. the first girl who had ever 'saw' and 'heard' him, as 'dark' and his own self, rather than the niwa he was a part of. 💜 emiko. daisuke's mother. he knows how much she wanted to become a phantom thief and has already helplessly witnessed her tears, but he still thinks she's best as just a good mother taking care of daisuke and helping him to properly develop and grow into an adult. 💜 menou. daiki's original love interest and the girl who became a ghost, bound to the earth for as long as she wore the unbroken agate links. dark hopes that she's found peace somewhere, especially after her wish of seeing the phantom thief again was fulfilled just as she disappeared. 💜 towa. she's funny and cute, and while he's been (admittedly, now,) kind of a jerk to her before, he has to admit that she does a really good job at what she does, and has helped him and daisuke out of a lot of pinches before. 💜 wiz. obligatory wiz appreciation. that rabbit does so much all the time for dark and daisuke both, but wiz's history with dark goes on for much longer than daisuke's. the magical phantom thieves are nothing without their funky little magical rabbit mascot. 💗 risa. he still likes her as a friend even after his own rejection, and she's been an enormous influence on him from the start; first someone he worked up the entirety of his courage to confess to, then the trigger for his very first transformation into dark. for the most part, they're on good terms. 💗 riku. the other harada twin with a completely different personality from risa. sometimes he's a little chagrined over her stubborn and independent attitude, but he sincerely likes her for the strength of her personality and is grateful that she doesn't seem to think he's a loser. 💗 satoshi. the curse's 'other half,' his destined rival that he was intent on befriending, the person who was supposed to capture him and dark but who had helped him time after time again instead. as his total opposite, daisuke genuinely admires a number of hiwatari's aspects, but he's also deeply frustrated by the fact that he can't help or save satoshi from the short-lived fate of the hikari lineage. 💗 kosuke. that's his dad! in a family of active thieves kosuke still serves as the informant and the researcher, the level head who can maintain a detached perspective from those directly involved with dark or dark's presence. while i hc that daisuke didn't see him very much and likewise doesn't have very many memories of them together as a child, (at least, definitely not as much as he spent time with daiki or emiko,) daisuke still deeply respects and appreciates his father for every word of advice and assistance he's ever given. 💗 argentine! yeah, he kinda hated argentine at first and even got so turbo-pissed that he forced dark to manifest and knocked out for two days, but argentine's already become an important person (artwork?) to him as 'someone that was saved.' dark was entirely intent on breaking argentine at first, but daisuke's relieved that another artwork's corpse and husk didn't have to be added onto the pile. as an artwork serving the family as a butler and artwork repairman now, daisuke tries to keep argentine as a reminder that others can not only change, but some are just trying to find answers to questions that they're looking for. 💗 freedert. daisuke's first experience with loss and grief and his own human helplessness. he wanted nothing more than to save freedert and the second hand of time but couldn't; it especially hurts since freedert had also merged with the second hand of time, just like himself and dark. he'll always remember her last words to him, though.

TWO THINGS YOUR CHARACTER REGRETS:

💜 being born. this one is no joke, because dark's birth wasn't actually his fault as opposed to the hikari and niwa ancestors'. canonically it's implied that dark has the capacity to hate his birth + humanity as a whole for creating him, but since hating anything is too tiring (all-consuming) and just all around 'no fun,' he resigns to simply holding dead-silent regrets over his creation instead. the cultural reformation refers to what's basically an art-pocalypse that happened due to the kokuyoku (that's dark and krad themselves) as being decided 'too dangerous.' the body count of countless artworks being burned, shattered, and destroyed is one he blames himself and takes a personal responsibility for, thus partially motivating his actions as a phantom thief, though he's also guilty of being an obstacle (self proclaimed 'meddler') that gets in the way of the niwa's mundane lives as well.

💜 attempting to merge with daisuke. he truly did want to take advantage of, manipulate and ultimately take in the boy at first so he could finally obtain his own body, but over time dark has learned that not only was there not any need for it, but daisuke had 'already been his' from the start. this is a new development compared to dark's relationship with the rest of the niwa, who dark had continuously tried to manipulate into merging with him, but overall failed until they found their loves reciprocated, and he disappeared from them.

💗 moping around on the birthday that he had first transformed into dark on. he reaaaally should have listened to what his grandpa and mom had to say instead of getting were-bishonened with absolutely no warning. he's also moped around during a lot of other crucial moments, mostly ones wherein he was separated from dark. without dark's extra goading pushes or encouragements, he tends to struggle and sulk. he's trying to, or at least wants to, be able to get over that part of himself, and be capable of standing up and taking steps forward without thinking to himself that he's 'absolutely no good' (and hopeless/useless) without dark.

💗 lying. always and always to everyone, lying. daisuke really doesn't want to around those he wants to trust and cares about, but due to dark's presence, he feels as if he has no real choice. he's actually gotten better at lying lately, (that is, being able to tell some without breaking into a cold sweat or stuttering,) but he's still pretty much awful at it. it's not only the act of lying itself that he regrets, but the fact that it makes him appear weird and potentially could hurt or devastate others' feelings that really torments him.

TWO PHOBIAS YOUR CHARACTER HAS:

💜 fear of being forgotten. 💜 fear of being alone. 💗 fear of being hated/rejected. 💗 fear of not being able to help or save others.

You mention that you're an equestrian and a horsegirl--can you please tell us more about that? About your horse(s), your experience riding, all or any of that stuff. :) I love horses but have never lived anywhere you can access them easily, so lucky people with horses fascinate me!

Ohhhhh you're so nice for asking!! I am indeed an equestrian and proud Horse Girl and am more than happy to talk about my passion and number one hobby!

I've always loved horses, and first rode one when I was 2. My aunt (who is like my mother, who also never had kids ((we say every time we're together that were each other's favourite family member ☺️)) has always had horses and introduced me to the lovely beasts. Her first horse that she owned was the first one I rode; her name was Chardonnay (yes I know...) and we sadly lost her two years ago at the age of 25. We still have her two babies, a 20 yo gelding named Hooligan (again, I know...) and a 18 year old mare Izzy (aka The Red Devil) and yes they live up to their names.

I've ridden at various stables throughout my childhood and teenage years, with some breaks in between being a boy-crazy teen and working/school, but have always consistently ridden my Aunts horses.

I've never competed, had zero desire and it would've taken the joy out of it for me, as showing is a whole different ball game. I ride purely for the love of it and bonding with my horse.

I ride "English" and do hunter/jumper (jumping over fences through courses) but really just love going out and spending time with them by grooming them and maybe going for a hack through the fields after doing some walk/trot/canter exercises.

I was part-boarding two different horses over the last few years but sadly my coach sold one and then the other became severely lame so I actually haven't ridden since December 😭. I think I needed the break, and now that spring is here I will get back in the saddle and working my aunts horses as they've fattened up heaps over the winter.

It's a dangerous sport, and sometimes I get in my own head over it and am becoming less "risky" with riding in general (ie not terribly fussed if I jump or not). Now that I'm in my thirties, falling off hurts a f*ck of a lot more and takes longer to heal/recover and I have a job and a house and a cottage to pay for.

I don't know if I'll ever own a horse myself, they're bloody expensive, finicky beasts who have insane, head-scratching illnesses and injuries, but I know I will always have them be a part of my life.

Horses are truly magical creatures. They're like dogs, but bigger, and usually forget their size. They know when you have a bad day, are sad or happy, and have the amazing ability to feel every emotion you do. When you're on one, you can literally think what you're going to do next and lo and behold, they're doing it. They feed off of our emotions and even though they are prey animals and are completely reliant on us for their love and care, they give so much.

I really hope you have the opportunity to be around them one day, because it will change you forever.

🍩 DONUT - favourite sweet treat?

Melody- MELODY LOVES SWEET TREATS THIS IS SUCH A FUN QUESTION!!!! I think her FAVORITE must be vanilla pudding cake!!!! WITH FRUIT AND ICE CREAM YESSSS I'm getting hungry just thinking about it LOLOL!!! And she has a fondness for pudding cake in general, she loves preparing it for friends or family!!!!! But she likes most cakes!!! Including pound cake and bundt cakes (probably her second faves).!!!!!!!

Sacha- THIS IS AN EASY ANSWER FOR HIM HEHE IT's CHEESECAKE by a landslide!!!!! Specifically the standard, white kind. Sacha isn't one for super super sweet foods, so a chocolate fudge swirl cheesecake or like a caramel chocolate cheesecake would probably be too much. THOUGH, the default kind is good and he likes a couple strawberries on the side with NO whipped cream.... He's rather particular about it actually LOLOLLL

☕️ HOT BEVERAGE - do they prefer hot or cold drinks? what is their favourite drink?

Melody- She is definitely a HOT DRINK GIRL!!!!!!! She loves lattes and hot cappuccinos perhaps a little less often BUT Her FAVORITE drink is probably Hot Cocoa! It gets her in the mood for WINTER and CHRISTMAS (her fave holiday!!!!!!), plus it's just so sweet and rich, SHE LOVES IT. Though she has tried Boba Tea and liked that as well! It took her some getting used to, but I think that might be her favorite cold drink!

Sacha- He also has a preference for HOT drinks but his taste is contrastingly less..... SWEET?? 👤 I SUPPOSE!!!! His favorite is black tea!! She most commonly drinks it at home while she's working on creative projects and she is in fact a tea FAN, so she's got all kinds of teas back at his dorm!!! It's practically a must-have for him LMAO! Though, I suppose an exception to his not-too-sweet tastes would be sweet Chai, which he grew up drinking a lot and still has a fondness for! IT'S MORE LIKE A TREAT FOR HIM or something that he has when he visits family!!!! Very seldom does he ever drink it on his own!!!

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

Melody- I ACTUALLY HAVE A VERY FUN IMAGE TO SHARE WITH YOU FOR THIS QUESTION!!! I FOUND THE FIRST PICTURE I EVER DREW OF MELODY (side by side with her most current design!!!!! :9)

Of course, her name was originally TIPSY. That's what that's all about HAHA AND I unfortunately can't recall my thought process through physically designing her... :2 I think I was just doodling and she came to be HEHE. Design-wise, I think the first thing I decided for her was that she was going to have a cute, rabbit ear style bow (funny because she no longer has it at ALL 💔, though I think that's where her beret originated from)!!! As for personality, she was inspired by a change I was going through at the time!! Particularly my first experiences with psychosis, interestingly enough! She was sort of a way for me to cope with the scariness of it, since a large part of her character is and was her religious delusions and delusions of prophecy. She's not a PERSONIFICATION of those things necessarily, but rather a character I can share something in common with if that makes sense!!!! :3 I'm super attached to Melody for that reason, maybe that's why she's a fave of mine hehehe.... *twirling my hair giggling etc*

Sacha- HAHA For Sacha, the answer is much more simple: The first thing that I decided about him was HIS MASK!!!!! I think I saw some cool pictures of old, animal based folk art and immediately had the inspiration to make a character with a colorful, tiger mask !!!! :DDDD Sacha was a very hollow character when I first designed them... I really had no actual STORY or CHARACTER TRAITS laid out for them until about a year ago 😭😭😭!!!! BUT I think in terms of personality, the first thing I decided about her was her stoic nature 🧍‍♂️!!!!!!! Sacha has always been a bit cold and stand-offish, though AGAIN I FIND MYSELF UNSURE OF WHY or what correlation it had to his mask originally!!!! LOL 😖

🌪️ TORNADO - what is the biggest change you've ever made to them? how have they changed from their original version?

Melody- I THINK she changed the MOST in 2021, when I revamped several of my OCs at the same time!!!! Here, she went from light skinned to dark skinned and I made her chubbier as well (consequently darkened her port wine stain too)!!!!!!! I have a picture of her (in a silly outfit) from around this time to show the changes that I made!!! :333

Eventually, I would also exchange the port wine birthmark for piebaldism as well, I think because I wanted to give Jacques his neurofibromas and cafe-au-lait spots but it mirrored Melody's former spots a little too closely... ANYWAY!!!!!!

Sacha- SACHA ON THE OTHER HAND has remained mostly the exact same 😭😭😭 Ever since I first made him .... As far back as 2020. FUNNILY ENOUGH THESE PICTURES ARE FROM 2020, 2021, and 2023 RESPECTIVELY

LOLL ALTHOUGH He used to have this cool thing where his eyes could dilate and constrict like a cat's!!!! But I had no explanation for this . LMAO . I guess the largest change I've made was that!!! Just to make them (more) human since I strangely prefer working with OCs who are just some messed up guy LOL RATHER THAN A CREATURE 👹

☁️ CLOUD - a soft headcanon

Melody- Melody volunteers at a local church as a choir singer!!! She has a bit of a natural talent for singing actually heehee... She was never FORMALLY TRAINED or anything like that though. AND SHE LOVES BRINGING PASTRIES TO GIVE TO THE OTHER CHOIR MEMBERS. I think she has a close friendship with the old lady who plays the church organ HAHA

Sacha- I'M GONNA TALK ABOUT JACQUES x SACHA FOR THIS ONE JUST A LITTLE BIT 👹 I HOPE THAT'S OKAY. BUT Sacha gives Jacques kisses to wake him up.... LIKE IF they are spending the night together and Sacha wakes up first, he'll gently just kiss his face and whisper at him in French until he opens his eyes. GRRRRR *TEARS EVERYTTHING DOWN* Sometimes Jacques will pretend to be asleep just to get more kisses. 🧍‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

💐 BOUQUET - create a bouqet for them! what do those flowers mean? are any of the flowers their particular favourite?

Sacha- FOR SACHA I CHOSE Alstroemeria (represents passion and devotion), Salvia ("forever mine"/deep love), Kniphofia (good fortune), Snapdragon (deception/concealment), Tiger Lily (prosperity)!!! Also Tiger Lilys are sort of the obvious answer LOLOLLL I KNOW ITS PREDICTABLE BUT I'm a sucker for the tiger motif... 😞 HAHA I think of THESE ONES, their favorite would be the snapdragon since he likes the delicateness of it hehee... Though I think that he is a fan of most red flowers because of their intense/bold coloring!!!!

Melody- AND FOR MELODY: Roses (passion/love), Poinsettia (good cheer and mirth), Camellia (adoration/longing), Tulip (holiness/forgiveness), Sweet Pea (friendship/gratitude)... AND I THINK POINSETTIAS HAVE TO BE HER FAVORITE.... YET AGAIN, because they remind her of Christmas and winter in general!!!!! Also the texture of them is really pleasant to her, she used to love touching the poinsettias at her family's Christmas celebrations as a child LOL

Sacha- He acts as a sort of fashion model for Jacques and Melody so they can dress him in their fashion projects for college! He won't show it (much), but he loves it HAHA.

Melody- She used to be a cheerleader!!! She was quite popular in high school too. She was part of several clubs and participated in school events Regularly. Her social friendly nature..... 🫶

Hi I really love your oc's and i want to ask if you don't mind to put a face claim to see how they look like in your opinion and their body type love you 💗 and thank you for your hard work.

Thank you! This is such a nice message and I’m glad you find the OCs so interesting. I don’t have exact face claims for them; I do have a certain face for each of them in my mind though. I’ll give it a shot anyway 🤓

Bear in mind, these face claims aren’t exactly how I see the OCs, particularly because the the FCs are all celebrities, but they capture most closely the vibe and general feel I get from them.

Kaya - Naomi Scott. I don’t think they share the exact same features but i think she has, in Namjoon’s words, Disney princess eyes. She has the exact combination of vulnerable doe eyes that I think would activate the protective instinct in him (as we’ve seen in fics already) but also gives off a very independent, girl power kind of vibe that I think fits Kaya really well.

In terms of body type, she’d be around 5’6” and have her fair share of curves that she wouldn’t mind showing off sometimes. She’d pretty much walk everywhere in Amsterdam so would be getting her quota of cardio. Her hair would be black and overall straight, usually a few inches below her shoulders, but she would start letting it grow it a bit once she sees how much Namjoon likes it.

Nari - Nana (Im Jinah). Obviously while Nana is known for being one of the most beautiful visuals ever, I think her closest similarity to Nari is the very casual kind of beauty I think she has. I think Nari would be the kind of person where when you first look at her, you probably wouldn’t do a double take, but when you take a good look at her features, they’re actually very soft and pleasing overall.

Nari would be tall, around 5’9”, which would automatically make her look slender. She’d have heavier hips and thighs though, something she’d be a bit annoyed about sometimes. Her hair would be relatively straight and maintained at a manageable length, something she can easily tie up and not think about.

Miso - Park Sodam. Again, I don’t think her features are exactly like Miso’s but I think she has a great poker face that would suit Miso immensely. There’s a sort of aloof quality to her smile where you don’t know what she’s thinking that I think is very similar to Miso.

She would be of average height, around 5’5”, and very slender. She wouldn’t have very prominent breasts at all, but this wouldn’t bother her; she’d ditch bras fairly often because of this. She would tend to wear a lot of black which would only accentuate her thinness, much to her mother’s displeasure. Her hair would be short and straight just an inch or two below her shoulders, with a fringe.

Chaeyoung - Danielle Marsh. Once again, I don’t think Chae’s features are much like Danielle at all, but I think her vibe is exactly the same - very youthful and playful. Even before I knew the names of the members of NewJeans, I remember noticing her and immediately thinking of Chaeyoung.

Chae would be relatively shorter, around 5’3”. She would wear clothes to try and seem taller though, including shorter skirts and heeled boots. She would attend yoga classes regularly. She does have natural curves as well and would be prone to weight gain easily; given her industry and her impressionable age, she might also tend to go down the unhealthy route of regulating her food too much. Her hair would be long and flowing, and she’d regularly experiment with bangs, layers and colour.

Sooah - Nam Jihyun. This is largely due to Jihyun’s smile; it’s one of those 1000 watt smiles, wide and blinding when you see it. That’s really the only similarity they share in terms of features. Jihyun also gives me a very free and fun vibe, something I think is a defining characteristic of Sooah.

Sooah would be around 5’5” and definitely a curvy girl. She’d have nice and shapely breasts, curvy hips and full cheeks with a soft dimple. It would annoy her once in a while because she wouldn’t be able to wear certain tops but she’d overall be quite happy with her curves. She would do yoga too (I think she and Chae would go to the same class) so she’d have decent stamina and strength, but would have flesh that she wouldn’t go out of her way to hide.

Dilara - somewhere between Sofia Black D’elia and Ananya Panday. Despite she being the first OC to ever come to life in my mind, she’s the hardest to describe physically. Her facial features would be slightly sharper and angular and she, too, would have a slight dimple in her left cheek.

She’d be 5’1” and a natural C-cup; but as an athlete, she would definitely be extremely fit and work hard to stay lean and light, especially since she’s in F1. Her diet and workout would be defined to the T and would take great care of her health (despite certain vices). Her hair would stay purposely long and is naturally curly (she’d blowdry it almost always).

Lia - somewhere between Han Sohee and Park Minyoung. Unlike Nari, she would absolutely be one of those people where you see them and do a double take. She’d be quite conventionally beautiful, with high cheekbones, full lips and a clean, white smile.

Lia would be about 5’7” and would work hard to keep her body toned and muscled, frequenting the gym and playing basketball. Naturally though, she would also tend to gain weight easily and would continue to keep some flesh around her stomach and hips. Her hair would usually be long and she’d typically have an elaborate hair care routine, wanting it to be shiny and presentable at a moment’s notice.

hiya! i hope you're still down to answering asks about That Line, sorry if you're not, do feel free to delete this too!

i think my initial reaction to that line was like a sucker punch to the gut with the way it was setup, i.e. the framing, him standing next to TK, and TK looking at him after he'd said that line. i was so pissed and i'm still pissed about it now. in no way is that fair to TK for him to have said that, no matter how angry or hurt he is. i'm not saying right/wrong bc it's never as transparent as that, i'm coming from pov of an audience and having witness both sides of the argument. yes, tk crossed a boundary when he visited iris even though both him and carlos had agreed not to, and i understand why carlos would react the way that it did. i hated it, but i don't really wanna get into it now. which brings me to,

i think, or at least i'd hoped that this might be setting up for carlos' character arc where – you'd previously mentioned that 403 is essentially confronting his past before taking that next step into his future with carlos, and i agree! – we'll be able to see carlos realising that he needs to be able to learn how to let go of the unfounded guilt he had towards this whole mess (i.e. marriage, iris getting kidnapped), and iris would swoop in and be like, 'hey, i'm no longer your legal responsibility now, and i am no longer your responsibility, period. i can take care of myself, and i'm sorry for the way things were but we're still best friends and i still love you. you can let go of this now.' something something about him having to confront and address things rather than chalk things up until he absolutely had to confront it, in order to move forward in his life, bc atp its at a standstill. and it's kind of like a full circle moment for him to realise that he didn't need to, and will never need to take on this weight and responsibility all by himself and pushing away the ones he loves in the meantime (i.e. TK 😭😭💗💗💓), when there's someone so willingly to take on this weight with him (back to my boy TK). i know i'm dreaming big but if i had to cope with shitty writing choices from a professional who does this for a living, i can pretty much read between the lines and interpret it however i want to.

which brings us back to That Line, so if the writers are willing to explore that route with carlos, it would make much more sense in relation to him implying that it was the marriage, and TK having been drowning in his own guilt and misery, misunderstood and took that to mean that carlos had meant with him (imagine the angst we would get from this if it was addressed on screen i'll cry).

i know i'm putting myself through the mental gymnastics and i'm pretty sure i'm 100% wrong in this. atp i'm still pissed at everything and especially carlos (i know its warranted but i'm still pissed and that's ok bc i'll get over it), but this is a headcanon i'd like to believe in until we have more context in 404 IF (and that's a big fat if) it ever gets addressed. if its just a result of a poor writing choice, i'm more than willing to pretend it never existed too.

I think 4x03 was a hard pill to swallow after how easily 4x02 went down. We've never seen Carlos shut out TK like this, even in the ice storm (he was mad but he was there. Although I should note I did not see the ice storm arc play out as it aired, so my experience of it is different to those who did watch at the time), but we've seen him be 4x02 Carlos before. The contrast is extreme after last week's squishiness. It's implied he 'doesn't like TK right now' immediately after being madly in love. It's new for us to get to grips with, how he goes from one to the other so quickly. I share your sucker-punch feeling and I still have it now to an extent – even after having talked myself into thinking Carlos was referring to himself and Iris. I guess I wish I didn’t have to *think* that, and rather I could just know. I’m happy for plenty of things to be left up to my interpretation as a viewer, whatever I’m watching, but a lack of clarity around something like this line doesn’t sit well with me. I have a very nervous disposition!

You’re right, the framing and the whole vibe made it seem like a super passive-aggressive reference to his own relationship, yet as I mentioned it’s total whiplash for the man who’d so recently comforted TK on the couch to say such a thing. If he *was* making a reference to being super displeased with TK to the extent of suddenly finding their relationship bad (just writing this reinforces to me how it makes no sense…) then the punishment does not fit the crime. Especially as Carlos is canon-aware that TK and Iris hugged rather than had a falling out.

Essentially, I share your headcanon and would really like to see them address this comment so we and TK aren’t left in the dark. There are actually so many good things that can come out of this arc, even if the writing itself leaves us with neon question marks blinking over our heads. By trying to ignore his past and leave it behind him, Carlos has inadvertently looped it tightly with his present and now he has to unpick it from this point. That’s fascinating! I want to see it. This is contrasted nicely with TK, I think, who in some ways ‘left the past behind’ when Owen brought him to Austin, but has been doing the hard work to face it and overcome it ever since, by going N.A meetings, taking his sobriety seriously, talking to the crew about it and his relapse, and finding an incredible man who opened up his heart again. Carlos is on a similar journey, in his own way, he just has to stop resisting and pretending and lying. I love Carlos so much – and it’s because I love him that I care. That lad needs to apologise to his fiancé. TK needs to understand that Carlos’ reaction was due to 99 problems and TK was maybe 1-ish (due to a transgression that was actually nbd). And they are going to be okay.

Hi Minnie, hope you're having a great vacation! Sounds like it's been amazing so far.

Feel free to put off answering this until you've gotten back. But I was wondering if you have any suggestions for how to politely tell someone to quit expecting me to be their personal Google for fandom stuff. Like 5 or 6 times in maybe a week they've tagged me or sent me asks asking where a certain pic comes from or which interview a quote comes from. Often it's obscure stuff that takes a long time to find.

They seem friendly and polite, but I've already gently hinted they should try Google and other sources and they go oh you're right, I'll do that, thanks, and then the next day they're asking me another question.

I like to be helpful and it can be fun to be a fandom detective, so I wouldn't mind if it was just once in awhile. But this person seems to have this expectation that they can just ask me about something rather than looking it up for themselves (even though it would probably take less time for them to just look it up instead of waiting for me to respond). I suppose I've set that expectation in answering them but I want to try to disentangle myself. Any ideas?

Hi my lovely! Thanks so much for your message ❤ I'm sorry to hear that this is something you're struggling with! Interestingly, I've had a similar experience with someone. I don't know if either of these people meant to take advantage of our friendliness/willingness to help out or whether they didn't even realise that it was becoming a bit of a burden for us, but let'd give them the benefit of the doubt and think of non-confrontational ways to break this pattern!

I'm thinking maybe next time they call on you for help, you could tell them you're sorry but you don't currently have time to look into it, and then just repeat the same thing a few times until they hopefully get the message? If that doesn't work and you suspect they're just taking advantage, I would just gently ghost them tbh. However, if you think there's a chance that they just enjoy enjoy chatting with you/like the contact but don't know how else to keep up a conversation, perhaps you could ask them a question about something else, to engage them in conversation and see if maybe the research questions stop after that.

I don't know if any of these approaches seem helpful at all, but I hope you'll figure out a way to deal with this situation! If anyone has any other tips for nonnie, please feel free to share your thoughts 🙏🏻💗 Good luck, lovely!

hi, i hope you're doing well! i loved your fandom post as a noob and it served as an opportunity for me to understand any pre-conceived notions of fandom i may have as someone who's just dipping her toes in the playground.

this might be weird to ask (feel free to ignore) but i'm someone who tends to get into a fit of analyzing + focusing on various parts of a story, the characters, their characterization (non negotiable for me), relationships and so forth. however i also see fandom as a playground where you're exploring and experimenting with canonical happenings with whatever degree of accuracy or play. is it bad if that's my frame point regarding fandom and fics?

do you have any tips for navigating ao3 or making the best of it in terms of extensions? i don't have any fandom friends and as i mentioned before, i like reading fics and noting what works and doesn't work for me. however, i don't think there's any kind of option on ao3 for me to organize or leave comments for myself so i remember?

ooo and final thing (not sure if you addressed it), how the hell do you navigate fandom discourse when some takes are just so loud and wrong lol?

hi ty i'm glad you enjoy my posts! one thing i wanna reiterate tho--i am not an expert by any means on like fandom lmao my thoughts are just my thoughts like. i myself have only been involved in the marauders fandom for a single year and there are people who have a lot more time and experience interacting with these spaces.

as far as what you're talking about with like analyzing fics...i'm not entirely sure i understand the question? like, i don't think it's a bad thing to spend time thinking about characterizations and stuff as long as you're acknowledging that this is a space where people are allowed to experiment and play around with stuff however they want, and there's no like Single Truth about the way any story needs to be written.

as far as navigating ao3 and having a way to leave comments for yourself--you can bookmark fics and write notes in the bookmarks and leave tags and stuff! one thing to keep in mind though is that writers can see the stuff you put down in bookmarks, so if you have any negative commentary (even if it's just personal stuff you like or dislike that you want to keep track of for yourself) i'd say it's best to keep that bit private or just make like a separate spreadsheet or something. or if you really want to keep track of it all on ao3 then think up a rating or tagging system for yourself that won't clue a writer in if you didn't like their fic. like instead of putting down like...3/5 stars or whatever be like "pink is stuff i love, orange is stuff i like, purple is stuff i dislike" and then you can just tag pink orange and purple and a writer seeing it isn't gonna know what that means and get their feelings unnecessarily hurt, y'know?

and navigating fandom discourse....honestly i feel like i just avoid it lmao like i post my thoughts and shit on my blog but this is my own little corner of the internet, y'know? like honestly i'm not trying to insert myself into any fandom discourse or drama because it's just not worth it to me because this is literally just a hobby. like...it's fanfiction. if i see shit that really bothers me because it's so loud and so wrong i rant about it to my sister mostly or like to friends. or i write about it on here where i'm pretty isolated and just sharing thoughts with like The Circle Of Mutuals. but there are always going to be people being loud and wrong about things on the internet and sometimes you just have to accept it and move on for your own peace of mind lol

and thank you for trusting me enough to ask this question!!! i'm so sorry that you've had some not so great experiences talking about this with your past therapists. it's already hard enough sharing something so vulnerable with someone, and having it dismissed or not taken seriously makes it that much harder!!! but i'm grateful that you opened up to me about it and i'm proud of you for wanting to open up to a new therapist about it too!!!

i think my biggest piece of advice is!!! to just be as honest as possible with whoever you see next!!! and i don't just mean about the self shipping itself (though that too!!!), but the feelings you have towards it and the experiences you've had previously!!!

when i brought it up to my therapist!!! i actually prefaced it with the fact that i was scared to bring it up at all. i told her that i wanted to talk about something but that it was something very personal to me and i even told her that i was scared that she'd judge me! i told her it was serious to me and i told her i didn't want her to think it was silly or childish! and it's helped us both and our relationship!!!

it's helped me because by being completely open about self shipping, it's allowed me to be completely open about the feelings that come with it. i don't have to keep things to myself or try to downplay anything, i can tell her exactly what thoughts and emotions i'm dealing with and why, and that allows me to dive deeper into myself!!! and it's helped her because it let her know what i need!!! she realized that i needed her to take it seriously, i needed her to treat this aspect of me and my life with kindness and care, and it let her know just how big of a part it plays in my life!!! and we were able to build trust. she proved that i could trust her with sensitive things and i proved that she could trust me to be honest with her so we could move forward.

and i think that's what i'd tell you!!! tell this person everything. you don't have to make it sound pretty or put together. a good therapist doesn't need that. they just need you to be you. so tell them you want to talk to them about something but you're scared. tell them you had past therapists that you felt dismissed you and didn't take you seriously and tell this new therapist that you need them to be different, you need them to treat you with care and patience and you need them to take it seriously. be honest!!! not only will it free you, but it will strengthen your connection with your therapist and it will tell them exactly how they can help you. and helping you is their job!!!

i hope that you find someone that you feel safe and comfortable with and i hope that they give you what you need!!! wishing you comfort and growth and healing on your therapy journey!!! i am sending you all my love, anon!!!!! 💗

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I WAS ROLLING AROUND SQUEALING INTO MY PILLOWS AHHHHHHH HE’S SO SOFT I LOVE HIM SO MUCH 🥺❤️ YOUR WRITING MAKES ME MELT BECAUSE HE IS SOFT BOI 🥹 but yes, i can tell it was a wee bit rushed. please take this feedback as constructive criticism, and not as an insult, but i think pacing is key for really intimate moments like this (especially if it’s the readers first). even if it means writing a lot more to build up to the climax (👀), it should be relevant to the experience being told. usually my go to is the five senses; expanding on them for the reader to feel the story. for an example, emphasise how much Eddie has been crushing on reader - would his touch be more gentle, but restraint due to his longing? what other sounds were being made in the room? by writing more upon the five senses, it creates tension and anticipation between the characters, and furthermore to the reader. idk if my feedback makes any sense/helps at all, but this is my penny for thought. i still enjoyed this fic regardless and hopeful to read more in the future :)) - 🌙
