Spill the tea, girl - what happened that your precious baby got kicked? (And I mean that in the nicest way possible, I'm just a nosey lil fucker ^^)
okay so basically i won’t give out my barn’s name or any name when i explain the whole situation because it is Frustrating.
so, teria is essentially getting kicked out for being “too aggressive.” and we asked them, what does that mean? and i shit you not, the stable hands were afraid of her because she...pinned her ears at them when they entered her stall. she legit does the same thing to me but i just ignore it because her sister (staccato) would always do that to me.
when teria first got to the barn back in like...september of 2020, she kicked out at one of the stable hands when they were trying to change her blanket. that’s scary stuff, and definitely understandable why they refused to change her blanket after that point. but then, once teria got better, my mom (who had to drive a whole hour to and from the place just to change a horse’s fucking blanket) asked them if they could do it again as teria’s behavior was much improved. they still turned it down and to this day won’t change her sheets. yes, that means leaving her in her stall with a full sheet on when it’s ~70 degrees outside.
to add to the damage, and this happened more recently, teria was becoming difficult to catch in her turnout. therefore, the barn decided that they will no longer be turning teria out (WHICH JUST REQUIRES OPENING A FUCKING GATE, MIND YOU). like.....what!!! so basically this baby has been completely deprived of hanging out with other horses, going outside of her stall, and having her blanket changed at an apt time. all because she’s...pinning her ears at the stable hands. mind you, she isn’t lunging at them or being rude. she’s just pinning her ears.
so basically this whole situation is bullshit and i’m extremely tired of people labelling teria as this aggressive, mean, rude baby when she’s genuinely the smartest, most awesome horse i’ve ever met. like seriously, i just recently started to be able to ride her again, and she is SO wonderful!
so, yeah. we’re moving her tomorrow and that’s that.
