Happy to be commissioned a few months back to paint this cover for author Andrea Manfredini with his new book ''The Thousand Eyes of the Night''; A story about a Balkan witch with magic, folklore and scheming.

The briefing was very exciting to work with, and the color scheme just as so.

I can't stop thanking Iman Aoulad for giving me the opportunity to create the cover for her novel.

As a self-published writer, I know how important a good cover is, especially for the first work. Iman trusting me with this task is a huge privilege and a great responsibility that, honestly, had me terrified.

But here is the result!

Behind this cover is a lot, a lot of work; not only technical work to improve and perfect the drawing, but also research. Yes, you read that right: research. You can't just dress and style people from another era however you want 🤭

Til then, have the current version I’ve got of the cover for Silvered Scars, the first book in the world I built where the werewolf/vampire blood feud doesn’t exist, and out of 16 characters, 4 are straight LOL

Excited to announce that my work is featuring in the Emergent 2023: Graduate Showcase Exhibition at Bunjil Place Gallery!!

This work was part of my final project for Units 3&4 Visual Communication and Design, a mockup book cover of a teenage fantasy novel 'Blood Hunting'. I'll go into more details about the story behind the project itself in another post later in the week <3

The opening night was last Sunday and dude it was a wild experience getting to see people looking at my work in person. The works of all the other artists in the exhibition are all so insane, seriously an honour to be among them wtff. If you're nearby I strongly recommend checking it out, it's going on until the 7th of April 💥

Thank you to Bunjil Place Gallery for providing this amazing opportunity. Special thanks to my VisCom teacher for his guidance (and constant critique) with this project and to my best friend for keeping me sane while we were working on it 💥

Finally able to say this project is done, after a few weeks of intense work.

Title: The Dinner Party Book cover for the upcoming release, The Coming of the Lord and Other Fables by Don Eccles of FGG Games, LLC 65 hours, Adobe Photoshop CC2023

I'm very excited for this piece because it's a huge milestone. Around five years ago I decided that I wanted to start doing artwork for book covers, and this is the first one that I'll have published since creating that goal. I worked crazy hard on this, and hope that it shows. There maybe isn't a huge difference to most people between having a book cover published and having an album art published, but this has been something on my radar for a long time, and many of my favorite artists I found through their book covers.

The illustration featured here is based on an excert of the story The Dinner Party, which will be included in the book.

I cannot wait to get my hard copy of the book for my portfolio!

All art was drawn by me and is (C) Ash Something Art and FGG Games LLC I do not use A.I. in my art.

Cari appassionati di scrittura e di libri! Ora vi parliamo di quella che è stata la mia parte preferita del lavoro svolto per la storia di Michele: la copertina (ovviamente 🤭)!

Lo scrittore mi ha lasciato molta libertà artistica per questa copertina. Ha mandato qualche bozza, qualche immagine da cui prendere ispirazione, ma mi ha lasciato piena autonomia! Ha fatto solo due richieste: che sul fronte ci fossero il protagonista Mason, di spalle o di profilo, e il Castello di Mont Saint-Michel! Quindi ho preso in considerazione le sue richieste e gli ho dato una impronta fantasy, aggiungendo anche altri elementi che facessero riferimento alla saga e alla storia, come macchie d'inchiostro, delle pergamene e una particolare bacchetta... O è una penna?! 🤔

Cosa ne pensate? Qual è l'elemento che vi incuriosisce di più? 🌙

Finally, I've been waiting for this moment for so long--to be able to do the official cover reveal for my debut fantasy novel, book 1 in the Dynasty Codes series, Origin Curse.
