✏️Skar/izler; üst göz kapakta normalde mevcut olan kıvrım yerine denk getirilmeli; alt kapakta ise kirpiklerin 1 mm altında kalırsa gözle görülebilen iz genelde kalmayacaktır.

✏️Üst göz kapağında 2, alt kapakta 3 fatpad(yağ yastığı) vardır.

✏️Alt veya üst göz kapağında torbalanma varsa alınmalıdır.

✏️Genel olarak insizyon(kesiler)eriyen dikişlerle estetik olarak kapatılır.Bu dikişler kendiliğinden erise de bazen 5-7 gün sonra alınabilir.

✏️Ameliyat lokal, sedasyon veya genel anestezi ile yapılır.

✏️Lokal anestezi ile yapıldığında(tercih edilir) hastaya aralıklı 10’ar dakika buz yaparak 1-2 saatte taburcu edilebilir

✏️Ameliyat 30-90 dakika arasında tamamlanır.

✏️Ameliyat sonrası her saat 5-15 dakika buz uygulaması yapılarak ödem/şişliğin azaltılması amaçlanır.

✏️Buz uygulama 2-4 gün devam edilmesi faydalıdır.

✏️Ameliyat sırasında görülen yan etki ve komplikasyonlar minimal olup genelde geçicidir; şişlik/ödem, morluk, ağrı, bulanık görme,sulanma, kaşıntı, batma hissi ve skar/iz❗️

✏️Operasyon sonrası 2-3 günden sonra şişlik( ödem) inmeye başlar, göz kapaklarının ideal şeklini alması 6-12 ayda tamamlanır.

✏️Oysa hasta bir kaç haftada dahi oluşabilecek şekli tahmin edebilir.

✏️Operasyon sonrası ağrı genelde minimal veya çok azdır, basit ağrı kesicilerle geçecektir.

✏️Eğer morluk oluşursa bazı kremler 2-7 gün süreyle kullanmalıdır.

✏️Skar/iz ilerki dönemlerde minimaldir veya beklenmez.

🇻🇬🇺🇸🦋Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) should not be performed only for aesthetic concerns❗️

✏️ Problems in the eyelids may be age-related, or they may occur congenitally or genetically at an early age.

✏️The main purpose is for the lower and upper eyelids to be functional.

✏️Also, eyelids should look aesthetic; Both eyes should be equal in size and shape.

✏️Scar/marks; It should be aligned with the normal fold in the upper eyelid; If it remains 1 mm below the eyelashes on the lower lid, there will generally be no visible scars.

✏️There are 2 fat pads on the upper eyelid and 3 on the lower eyelid.

✏️If there is bagging on the lower or upper eyelid, it should be removed.

✏️Generally, incisions are closed aesthetically with dissolving stitches. Although these stitches dissolve on their own, they can sometimes be removed after 5-7 days.

✏️The surgery is performed with local, sedation or general anesthesia.

✏️When performed with local anesthesia (preferred), the patient can be discharged in 1-2 hours by applying ice for 10 minutes at a time.

✏️The surgery is completed within 30-90 minutes.

✏️After the surgery, ice is applied for 5-15 minutes every hour to reduce edema/swelling.

✏️It is beneficial to continue ice application for 2-4 days.

✏️Side effects and complications seen during surgery are minimal and generally temporary; swelling/edema, bruising, pain, blurred vision, watering, itching, stinging sensation and scar/mark❗️

✏️After 2-3 days after the operation, swelling (edema) begins to decrease, and the ideal shape of the eyelids is completed in 6-12 months.

✏️However, the patient can predict the shape that will occur even in a few weeks.

✏️ Post-operative pain is generally minimal or very little, and will go away with simple painkillers.

✏️If bruising occurs, some creams should be used for 2-7 days.

✏️Scar/mark is minimal or not expected in the future.

✏️If the patient complains, scar removal creams and sometimes lasers are preferred.

✏️Your Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery doctor will also prescribe you to use antibiotics and some eye drops.
