I am completely fascinated by this abandoned home some urban explorers came across in Belgium. It’s covered in moss, which only adds to its charm, but look at the Plexiglas sunroom. 

Look at the big windows.

There’s a lot of mold inside, but this would be the kitchen. 

There appear to be stairs going to an upper level in the living room. There may be a bedroom in that dome on top of the structure. I wish he’d taken more photos.

Looks like there’s a bathroom in there. 

And, there appears to be a pantry here.

Apparently, it’s been abandoned for 30 yrs., but whoever lived here must’ve had a child, b/c there’s a Mr. Turtle sandbox. So fascinating.

Discover the Magic of Groß Bengerstorf: An Idyll Between River Landscapes and the Elbe.

On a sunny day, Marcus packed his bags and set off for Groß Bengerstorf, a picturesque village in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The community, with its nearly 540 inhabitants, lay amidst the stunning river landscapes of the Elbe and Schaalsee and was administered by the Amt Boizenburg-Land.

Groß Bengerstorf is a community of about 540 individuals in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, beautifully situated amidst the river landscapes of the Elbe and Schaalsee. It is administered by the Amt Boizenburg-Land with its seat in the non-affiliated city of Boizenburg/Elbe. The community is divided into the districts of Klein Bengerstorf, Groß Bengerstorf, and Wiebendorf. The settlements of Beckendorf, Bretzin, Karrentin, Köterbusch, Rehmen, Saathorst, Steinfurt, Strittkamm, and Zölkow do not have district status.

The community is located about ten kilometers northeast of Boizenburg/Elbe on the Schaale, whose river course in the Bengerstorf area is under protection. The Bretziner Heide has been designated as a nature reserve since 1975.

Upon arrival, Marcus embarked on an exploratory tour of the village. Astonished by the natural beauty of the surroundings, he was captivated by the protected river landscapes and the adjacent Bretziner Heide, a nature reserve.

His first encounter was with Frau Anke, a warm-hearted resident of Groß Bengerstorf. She proudly showed Marcus around her horse stable and told him about the services she offered in the village, including the popular horseback riding.

Curious, Marcus then followed Britta to her goat paradise. Here, she lovingly tended to 14 goats and 16 lambs, producing delicious homemade goat cheese and goat milk. The goats were gently milked to ensure that the lambs were well taken care of and could stay with their mothers.

After the milking, Marcus accompanied Britta to her cozy little dairy, where she processed the goat milk into delectable cheese. Impressed by her dedication to her craft, Marcus decided to participate in one of the cheese workshops she offered.

During his vacation, Marcus enjoyed the natural beauty of the village, surrounded by lush greenery and a pristine atmosphere. He took a walk with Soji and her goose Sky, exchanged thoughts on their theater performance, and was led by Soji's father Pelle through his little paradise, including a refreshing pond where the family liked to take a dip after a sauna.

Calle, the carpenter and theater builder, recommended that Marcus visit the pond of Hermann, who owned an impressive piece of land and ran a civil engineering company. Hermann spoke about the village's development and how newcomers had enriched life there. With great enthusiasm, he organized the "Teich und Töne" festival, where hundreds of people gathered annually to listen to bands from all over the world.

Marcus was thrilled by the many beautiful front gardens in Groß Bengerstorf and was even surprised by an donkey trail called "Wandern mit Esel." On Dagmar's farm, he had the chance to brush the donkeys and found it surprisingly relaxing and therapeutic, despite being a city dweller unfamiliar with such an experience.

During his stay, Marcus learned that the Mecklenburgers were reputed to be a bit reserved but kind. However, he quickly discovered that the residents of Groß Bengerstorf were anything but reserved, welcoming him warmly into their community.

At a cozy coffee chat, Marcus finally got to know the village community better and even met the youth fire brigade, who were diligently practicing.

After an eventful time in Groß Bengerstorf, Marcus was enchanted by this idyllic village, its warm-hearted inhabitants, and the breathtaking nature. He promised to return soon and highly recommended that anyone visiting Mecklenburg-Vorpommern make a detour to Groß Bengerstorf to experience the beauty of the place and the hospitality of its people.

How I had envisioned the last scene of the Bad Batch would have gone:

Going frame by frame- 3rd person- following up this bright tan gravel hill, the different sets of footprints and how boots slowly follow them, when the bright trees disperse we find a blonde facing out past the hill, dunes and valleys stretching ahead with bright water and clear sky’s, she’s wearing light weight armor and a satchel,

A shoulder appears next to her, offers a bright container.

“You’re going to burn. You don’t need to use much.”

“It’s fine. I don’t mind the sun.”

“I won’t feel sorry later when I told you so.’

She shakes her head at Echo’s push for the importance of sunblock, she looks down at something in her cupped hands. Shows Echo’s face with patches of red along his nose and forehead.

when she hears the footsteps behind them she twists her head to the camera and smiles impossibly wide at the person approaching, excited and thrilled but we see the scar besides her temple, her hair braided back, her sharper nose and chin, a skull painted on her shoulder armor,

“look what tech found!”

hunter then steps into frame as she unfolds her hands, tiny geo-salamanders wiggle on her palm, their scales reflecting like glittering crystals in the sun, and she recites what tech explained

“Very shiny. Have you added them to your logs?”

She nods quickly, smiling wide, her eyes crinkling

“About to!”

hunter looks up to see tech crouched next to a nest and scanning with his datapad while wrecker holds a rock back for him, omega yells for their attention and they turn to wave

“about time serge!” Wrecker hollers.

tech adjusts blue modified goggles on his nose. “you could've missed the new record”

“You’ll owe me 15 mentell mix this time and I won't let you forget” wrecker shouts over,

turns their gazes to the hill on their right, highest point where batcher (larger and brighter blue) is resting, she lifts her head at them as crosshair is mediating peacefully not even moving as his rifle sits beside him, hunter puts a hand on her shoulder and they share as smile

“he’s gonna make it to 324 clicks this time”

hunter crosses his arms. “we’ll see about that”

wrecker shouts in the distance as a dust cloud erupts from a overturned boulder, a swarm of much bigger reptiles begin to crawl out and tech says something about how unexpected the amount is and identifies why they are attacking while wrecker throws one past frame, tech turns to run but his cybernetic leg is a bit slower than expected in the gravel thus wrecker hurls tech over his shoulder and makes a run back up the hill, tech brings his blaster up setting it to stun.

A massive salamander lunges for them but it crashes into the gravel with a crackling zap, the shot echoing up the valley to where crosshair has taken on cover fire, Echo doubles back the opposite way, heading to the newly repaired Marauder. Omega unfolds something from her satchel and it hovers beside them to hop up hunter chuckles and omega slaps his arm

“he’ll have better luck next time”

They speed down the hill laughing, they disappear down the hill with the shouting and the growls of monsters but across the fray the voice that stands out the most says

“can we check out the eastern beach next?”

Okay so if you'll see an earlier post I made, I fixed a bug last week that ensured fic counts include locked fics again. Since last week's numbers were before the fix and the percentage compares last week and this week, all the fandoms with high locked fic % (mostly RPF) are showing on this week's "fastest growing" analysis. Not quite accurate, but it will fix itself next week. Sorry y'all!
