“Could I get a Paul x reader set in eclipse where he imprints on an old friend of Carlisle who is a vamp/shifter but the wolves don’t know that and she is sassy but he try’s to fight the imprint then in the fight she is badass and shifts and he and the wolves are just kind of in awe...abit of angst but fluff ending?”

“Nila, to what do I own this pleasure?” Carlisle said who was happy but confused to see his old friend when her coven was in Utah.

Him and his family now stood on the porch of their lovely home looking up at the girl who clung to a tall tree after hearing the ruckus she rumbled in the woods.

“You know words get around Car , What’s this newborn battle I’m hearing about” she said jumping from the tall tree she was handing from.

“A team up with the wolfs to kick newborn ass, duh” Emmet said as he leaned on the on the banister.

Nila smirked before dropping her face.

He and Nila never really saw eye to eye but they wouldn’t say they ‘hated’ each other just a firm dislike.

He was going to be the biggest in the house but not the toughest, he wanted to give it a go after not seeing her for a while,

“If it isn’t the dumbest Cullen or... should I give that to Edward for falling in love a human” she said looking between Emmet and Edward with her light brown eyes.

Since she wasn’t fully Vampire she didn’t have to drink blood, she could live off human food too.

She only chose human food because she knew everyone’s input on vampires, they all think their sum blood thirsty monster’s.

Her skin wasn’t hot to the touch but wasn’t ice cold either, it was warm like A perfect day to wear a sundress to the beach.

“Why don’t you come in, we were just discussing our plans” Carlisle said with a open hand to the door of his home.

She gave a warm smile to Esme, Rose, Alice, and Jasper which they kindly returned, while she shot a bird at Emmet and not even taking notice to Edward a second time as she stepped into their home.

“Hasn’t changed a bit” she said more to her self looking around.

“so their after Edwards walking blood bag, Why?” Nila said now knowing everything but why they were coming for Bella.

“We have no idea” Carlisle said ignoring the snarky comment from his friend, he knew how she was about anything new and a human in love with a vampire is new for everybody.

She rolled her eye’s, looking over at the window, there stood a huge tan man in a muscle shirt with cut off jean shorts and black shoes.

His hair was cut low and he smelled of woods and sweat.

“I take it he’s the wolf she lead on while pale face ran off” she said now looking back at Esme.

“Okay how long does she need to stay I mean really, all she’s doing is making comments on everything!” Bella said as Rose chuckled and Nila smirked.

Rose was known for getting under Bella’s skin so she enjoyed watching others do as such, when they first met she knew she had to befriend this little ball of fire.

This is just adding to their bond.

“Hold your tongue or I’ll throw you to the little monsters myself, if anything I’m helping save your ass” She said only half joking on first part.

Which was true, she was helping but she wasn’t doing it for Bella, she was doing it to pay Carlisle back for saving her life almost 60 years ago.

Carlisle found a 16 year old Nila beaten and bruised by her abusive uncle who took her in after her parents died, left for dead in a alley way like she was nothing.

She was beaten so bad, he soon turned her seeing it was the only thing to save her life, all without knowing she would turn into a massive wolf.

It caused problem’s for him and Esme, her anger toward the man who left her for dead almost controlling her making her faze at least 7 times a day.

Then being something that even the oldest of vampire’s have never heard of, the first of her kind and the only.

A Wolf with the same abilities as a vampires.

A hybrid.

After she learned to control her heightened emotions, Carlisle gave her a choice to stay but she wanted to see the world.

And that he understood.

So she left, later finding a small Vampire coven who soon became her family but she never forgot bout the Cullen Coven, the people who saved her life.

Bella swallowed hard before a glaring Edward grabbed her hand and walked out the room.

“I still like you, I still like her” Rose said smirking at her mate which caused him to roll his eyes.

“we train with the wolfs tomorrow at noon in a open field, be ready” Jasper said as the family walked the hybrid to the door of their home.

“See’ya soldier” she said as her small figure disappears into the night.

The Next Day...

“Again!” Nila watched Emmet shout at Jasper after losing a match.

“hey, maybe you should give it a break. Ya know? before you pop a bicep” Nila said as she leaned on a tree , not to far back.

Emmet groaned trying to ignore the smart mouth women as his mate kisses his cheek and patted his shoulder.

“Don’t be a sore loser babe” she said smirking as she smiled with Nila.

Rosalie was really liking Nila being around, it was fun having someone to be a buddy with even though the others were dreading it or didn’t pay it any mind she was here.

Everyone treated Rose like she was bomb, one wrong move and the blonde would blow up in everyone’s face.

Which was kind of true but she liked the fact that Nila treated her normally, like she wasn’t cold hearted.

Like she wasn’t on egg shells around her.

Like she wasn’t a monster.

Everyone turned their heads after hearing a car pull up only to find the two love birds jumping out and joining the group.

Not even second’s later tall, like HUGE wolfs emerged from the treat lines slightly growling at those who stood before them.

“Well...Hello doggies” Nila said pushing up off the tree she was leaning on searching over every wolf in her eye sight.

The Pack took attention to the extra leech they have never seen before, especially Paul but he looked down at Carlisle before he could get a good look at her.

“They don’t trust us enough to be in their human forms” Edward said looking at his adoptive father.

“They came, that’s what matters... will you translate?” Carlisle asked as Edward gave a slight nod and stood in front of the wolfs.

Nila heard Bella say something to a rusty brown wolf but payed what ever it was no mind

“Welcome, Jasper as experience with newborns... He can teach us how to defeat them” he gently spoke.

“They wanna know how the newborns different from us” Edward stated.

“Their a great deal stronger then us because-”

“Their own human blood lingers in their tissues” Nila spoke out now coming closer and out of the tree lines.

Carlisle nodded at his friend before continuing.

“our kind is never more physically powerful then in our first several months of this life” he finished before stepping back letting Jasper take the lead.

“Carlisle’s right... That’s why their created” he said pacing.

“A new born army doesn’t need thousands like a human army... but no human army can stand against them”

The wolfs growled lowly as to say ‘we get it’

“the two most important things to remember are first... Never let them get their arms around you, they’ll crush you instantly. And second-” he said keeping eye contact with the wolfs.

“Never go for the obvious kill, they’ll be expecting that. and you. will. lose.... Nila, Emmet!” he shouted making the buff pale man and warm colored girl step forth.

Nila gracefully stood a few feet away from Emmet with a smirk.

“Don’t hold back steroids” she said in a teasing manner.

“Not in my nature she-devil” he responded in that same manner.

She stood still as Emmet charged at her small figure pushing her back through the dirt and lifting her, throwing her to ground only for her to land on she feet lightly.

Nila saw he was going to play dirty.. she going to show him she could play filthy.

smirking , She ran towards the man with force as he swung a punch toward her but she dodged it, she grabbed and twisted his arm making him turn in mid air before using her elbow to push his back to the ground, she won.

She pinned him.

“Never lose focus, sweet cakes” she said winking and turning back to go back to her spot in the tree’s but she felt eyes on her.

Nila turned around to search of eyes even close to looking at her, only to lock with Paul’s dusty grey ones.

She then felt her world stop as if only it was him and her in the field but she didn’t break eye contact with the wolf.

She saw a future with him, marriage , kids, love. A home.

He saw the same thing... felt the same way...

“One more thing...” Jasper’s voice spoke breaking them from their trance.

‘what the hell was that’ she thought but shook her head looking up to find Carlisle on the ground who was pinned by Edward.

That soon changed when Carlisle grabbed Edwards ankle bring him down as he now pinned Edward.

“never turn your back on your enemy” he said rolling his eyes.

As it was now Rose and Jasper’s turn to spare , Nila was now to deep in her thoughts to pay any attention , Paul the same.

Pictures of Nila’s light brown eyes flashed through his mind none stop, the vision’s of their future along with them which caught Jared’s attention.

‘oh dude... tell me you didn’t, did you?’ Jared thought.

‘shut up Jared’

‘OMG YOU DID!’

‘Will you guy’s focus, our life’s are kind of on the line here’ Paul heard Embry’s voice.

‘Paul imprinted on a leech Em, how am I suppose to focus if she’s flashing in my head. Kim is going to kill me-’

‘Enough’ Sam’s voice spoke.

‘Paul, we’ll talk later now all of you focus’

Training is now over and Nila sat on the steps of the Cullen’s home.

She just couldn’t get the dark grey out of her head.

What was it about him that pulled her to him and why was all she wanted to know I mean come on. she didn’t even know his human form.

“I wouldn’t stress it Ni maybe he just thought you were cute” a holly Alice said long side her.

she smiled gently before she spoke.

“Thanks pixie”

Mean while..

“you have to tell her Paul, she as a right to know” said a annoyed Sam beside Paul as the pack sat in Emily’s kitchen eating a lunch she made for a good luck before the newborn battle they have coming up.

Since training Paul wasn’t himself, almost as if he was missing a part of himself now that he was far from his imprint.

But he also felt disappointed in him self, why a vampire out of all things?

“Sam’s right... You cant stay far without hurting your self too” Jared said as he had a full mouth.

Embry and Quil agreeing with the usually dumb minded wolf.

“Mouth closed Jared” Emily Called out to the young boy, he said a quick sorry before he continued to wolf down his food.

No pun intended.

This angered the hot head Lahote, they don’t know what its like to imprint on your natural born enemy and then had the nerve to tell him to deal with it.

They wouldn’t know how to deal with it unless it happened to them.

“You don’t anything or even what your talking about” He said coldly.

Paul stood out his seat and stormed through back door leaving the conversation he wasn’t ready to have as he ran into the woods fazing mid sprint.

Flashes of the girl the cold one’s call ‘Nila’ going through his head was to much for him so he ran... growling and barking at anything in his path way.

The Battle

Nila Pov

It was now battle day, after two long nights of waiting, her mind still on the dark grey wolf in her mind, it was finally time to let her emotions go and kick some newborn ass.

Bella Stayed with Edward and Jacob far in the hills.

Jacob carried Bella to the camp out not to far from where the battle would be held to mask her scent so the newborns would be lead to the Cullen’s and Wolf’s plus Nila instead of Bella.

Nila kind of hoped the grey wolf would show as they were preparing for battle just so she can at least hold some conversation with him.

ask him what happened at training, why did she feel a pull to be near him all the time, why does her half death body ache when she thinks about her future with out him in it.

it was so much she needed to say.

“Stand tall, here they come” Jasper says as we lined up next to each other.

They listened as the growls grew louder, Foot steps coming closer ,and branches breaking.

Finally at least 20 pairs of blood red eyes came running from the tree lines and The 7 Vampires returning the act.

Jasper heads in first as he threw a power full punch breaking the newborns head like a piece of glass that just dropped.

Emmet using his buff figure to knock another of their feet then turning to twist one’s head right off their shoulders.

Every golden eyed vampire holding their own barely even noticing the pack jumping from the bolder and attacking a hand full of Newborn their self.

Esme grabbed a newborns foot to send then flying in the air for Carlisle to push the cold body down to the ground as his mate throws the monster to the wolfs.

Literally.

Nila was fighting to get the arms of a newborn from around her figure but couldn’t, Paul took notice to her struggle and jumped at the newborn holding her in one quick movement pulling his head off with his shark teeth.

They shared a quick glance before heading their own ways.

As they cleaned all of the newborn’s clean from the open field they were in everyone finally took a breather.

“Yeah never again, that bitch almost killed me” Nila said.

“Language”

“sorry”

“How long?” Edward said coming from nowhere will Bella on his left like a sea clam.

“A few minutes... maybe ten?” Alice said.

“the pack needs to leave , the Volturi won’t honor a truce with the werewolves”

A left over newborn jumped out and a white wolf with tan and grey in its fur attacked without thinking on anything.

“LEAH DONT!” Edward yelled.

The same dark grey wolf Nila as yet to talk to in human form jumped over the said wolf and latched on to the newborn then started to rumble.

Nila started to tense as the gray wolf started to lose his upper hand on the newborn.

The newborn got his arms around the grey wolf crushing his spine as Jasper said almost instantly, the wolf dropped to floor turning and whining in pain.

“NO!” Nila said running towards the monster who hurt the grey wolf fazing mid sprint and with one clean movement she torn the newborns head off.

“Paul... Hold on ok, Carlisle’s gonna take care of you” Edward said to the now human laying once where the grey wolf was.

There laid a tan man with the same tattoo as Jacob but buffer with arms in a x to try and help with the pain in his body but it was no use.

Nila’s wolf ran to the mans side ignoring his lack of clothes as she whined, a way of tell Carlisle to help him.

“his bones on the right, half them are shattered” Carlisle said.

5 boys and 1 girl soon came to Paul’s side in a hurry.

“Paul , You idiot! I Had it” Leah shouted.

“Leah!”

“we need to get him out of here , we’re not gonna want a fight with the Volturi” Edward said as Nila laid on her stomach resting her head gently on Paul’s shoulder ,whining.

“we’ll take him back to Billy’s” Sam said.

“I’ll be there as soon as I can”

The boys started to close in on Paul which Nila didn’t take to kindly , she missed what she was being said between the pack and Carlisle.

All she could focus on was Paul laying flat on the floor who she adored and felt the need to protect, moaning in pain.

Nila growled loudly as the 5 boy came in closer.

“Nila, they’re helping him. let them.”

She huffed before she started to whine again, hearing cries from Paul brought cries of her own.

“she can come... maybe she could help” Jacob suggest to Sam as they held Paul’s body up.

Sam nodded.

“They’re Coming!” Alice said which made Nila look to Carlisle as to ask could she.

He gave a warm smile before speaking.

“Go”

She hurried and follow the boys and Leah out of the woods.

Nila is now shifted back and everyone is at Billy’s.

Everyone’s out side as Paul screamed, it made her uneasy.

“What are they doing to him!” she asked turning to who she learned was Embry.

“Doc’s rebreaking his bones” she took a deep breath before she heard another one of Paul’s cries.

She slipped her finger into her hair and gripped it slightly.

Nila was freaking out and this wasn’t like her, she was pacing the grass as she tried to block out Paul’s screams.

“Paul Imprinted on you!” Jared rushed out trying to help the girl at least stay in one spot, all her walking and things were making him nervous.

“nice going jackass”

“really dude”

“Oh my gosh”

“this wasn’t the time...”

“someone had to say it!’

Nila zoned out their babbling as she focused on what she just heard, of course she has heard of imprinting but she just thought she had something on her face and her brain wanted to be over the top.

But instead he imprinted... and he didn’t tell her...

Nila felt her heart clench, was she not good enough to be is imprint? is that why he didn’t say anything?

The door to the little red house shack opened. Carlisle and Sam came out and shut the door.

Once again Carlisle said something and Nila didn’t pay it any mind.

“Nila... He’s asking for you”

She Looked up and shot through the door she walked down the small hall to find Paul on a bed in a pool of sweat and bandages.

He opened his eye’s half way to see her standing in the door way and muffled a laugh.

“so... your the hero wolf” he said in horse.

she gently smiled as she walked closer to the bed and sat on her knees.

“I- guess I am” she said looking up at him in his eyes.

They were beautiful to her, the way they shined even with no light on them.

“Look-” he said trying to sit up.

“Hey! no no no, stay still” she said starting to panic as she placed her small hands on his chest gently pushing him back down.

“ahh”

“Sorry- I’m so sorry- I-I should leave, I’m making things worst-” she said talking fast and getting up.

Paul caught her by her hand feeling the sparks on his skin as they touched.

In all honesty he didn’t want her to leave.

“Stay... please” he said making her slowly take her seat back on the floor, never taking his hand out of hers.

They sat in a peaceful silence before he spoke.

“I should have told you about the imprint... I’m sorry” he said looking at the side of her face but she turned her head to look him in his face.

“it’s okay, I get the whole Vampire werewolf hate thing but before you make up your mind-” she took a deep breath as she finally pulled her hand away from his now picking at her nails.

“I-I don’t think I have the will to stay away from you anymore” she said looking at her hands as he stared at her.

“Then don’t...” he said gently.

She look at his face to see if he was joking about what he said but she found no joking matter expression on his face.

She blushed.

“Lets start over” he said slowly sticking his hand out to shake hers which she gently shook.

“Hi, I’m Paul Lahote. I’m a werewolf, I imprinted on you and Thank you for saving my life ma’am” he said making her giggle.

“Hi, I’m Nila Livid. I’m a Hybrid, I kind of don’t mind-” She said smiling and falling into his eyes.

“and I’d do it all over again sir” she smiled making him smile and hold her hand tighter.

“Nice to meet you Nila”

(Open Rp) Winter, Romance, Drama, And Sci fi X Fantasy Crossover in "Love Of Utopia"

It was a night of Febuary 16th At Bromwich Town, Saphira was Waiting Her "Future Husband" Who is in arrange marriage by his Family name Duncan James Draco, She was Waiting for him at the Costellos restaurant..She sits there and waiting for him But her Patience is really grew thinner while feeling abit angery and Neglectful by his absense.. So She gets up and took her car and Drives to her home to Find out whats taken him So Long to come.. But then..She hears the Feminine Laughter and giggles, It was a Huge Shocker on saphira..She realized that Duncan is Having an affair with someone else.. So She Slammed the Door open and Saw Duncan and the other Woman Made beast with two backs on the couch all naked but covered in sheets..Saphira gasp so loud even Duncan froze and saw Saphira in a Shocking expression...Then Saphira's Blood began to boil like a volcano ready to erupt With a Wrathful Look on her face..and Then She exploded with anger Expression and said,,

Saphira: DUNCAN JAMES DRACO!!! What in blazes Do you think your Doing with her!?

Duncan: S-s-saphira! I-its not what it looks like!

Duncan always has his ways to Sabotage Saphira's love Life...and then One day..Thats How She's Decided that Enough Is enough, It was One Afternoon when She dates a Sweet guy but Severely Allergic to Seafood...But lets just say That duncan has his plan all worked out.. And then When the food arrives...Suddenly, Saphira saw her Dates face swelling up as he is gasping to breath.. Good thing that Saphira got the injections for him and she jabbed it by the neck as he is cured and swelling down.. and then.. her date got upset and left..while She sees Duncan laughing so hard like he did the Sickest Prank.. Then Saphira's Faces Turns red as she is Pretty LIVID at Him and then She gets up to storm at him..then "SLAP!!" She Smacked Duncan right on the face and she said...

Saphira: THATS IT DUNCAN! YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR! I've Had Enough! I am going to Do Something that I Should've Done a long time Ago!

Duncan: And..whats that?

Saphira: I am Going to Leave this town For good!! You've Ruined and Sabotaging my Dates For the Last time!! Goodbye Duncan!

Then Saphira Storm out of the restaurant and head back home, Packing her Stuff and all that into her Package..She use her Spells to Shrink her whole house stuff in one Luggage..and She got out from the Door and Left a Note and it says...

"Dear Duncan, If you read this that means I've had it from the tip of my head because of you destroying my love life...Now its time for me to leave town and Start fresh.. With out you in it.. I don't want Anything to Do with you! Don't call me,, Don't Find me.. and Most of all.. Don't ever Come near me again! I am Leaving Bromwich For good! thanks to you..and Ps.. I called your parents about this.. They gave me The Heritage of your money..and also I called your Whore wife of what you did.. so be prepared to get your Life miserable again because I Don't want you in my Life anymore.. When Saphira began to head to the bus station to the airport.. Saphira has Decide to Live in Peru..they called this nice Simple town called "Novis" It's a nice big Town just got neared a beautiful Rainforest..Saphira was So happy that she can Settled in to her Luxurious home right near that town..She lives near the Water fall lagoon..She unpacked and Settled in..She sits down and sees her Kitsune Fox Servant/friend/ nanny name Siren and she said

Saphira: Siren my dear Friend, We are in paradise.. No more Duncan...No more troubles.. This is a new life *pours two glass of wine and handed to siren* To Us and To The fresh Start of new life

Siren: Cheers *clash with saphira's glass and both drinks wine*

Saphira was so happy.. then the next day, Saphira began to Tour of this Nice lovely town..until She sees the science Convention place..where the Tour was take place..When the tour began.. the Scientist Behind the glass was Escorted the "Experiment" it was a Creature with a colorful (Your favorite color) Slime..its alive and it has a good Knowlege of a human.. But.. this creature Spotted Saphira..it finds her as a beautiful Fox Woman..Then they experiment of what this Slime creatured was Feed onto.. so they decided to try out the milk.. when they fed the creature milk.. it expands shortly.. so they try another milk..it was a breast milk which expanded so quickly..it began to break the cylinder Glass Prison as the Scientist was in the panic.. it escapes but It follows saphira right throught the pipes..it was shrunk after the escape about a Size of the Kitten..But as the Tour ends with many huge Cylinder canistor of Different type of milk.. Saphira was pretty amazed about it but suddenly.. She saw this (your favorite color) Slime creature Slither out of the pipes and began to drink the breast milk canister out from the faucets..and it began to expand and saphira said," umm Madame...Did you umm" pointed at the creature behind it.. when the scientist saw this creature..they begna to panic as the creature expands and saw saphira.. Saphira began to run like hell and head to her home.. but then it got out and began to chase her.. Now it has a Knowledge to Speak.. Then the Creature said...

I’ve applied for disability checks due to the fragile nature of my mental state and was told to take a test in regards of an assessment. I was to be evaluated by a psychiatrist to see if I actually had an ailment or I was simply trying to manipulate the government’s system. I walked in unhinged, on edge, and ready for my own word vomit as I had so much anxiety about being analyzed. Instead of being spoken to about my daily experiences, I was given pattern-colored blocks. I was shown images of different patterns and was told to arrange the blocks to match the images I saw. This required rotating and flipping each individual block and to make things more heart-wrenching, I was warned that if the entire puzzle hadn’t been rotated upright towards the pysch. that I wasn’t able to move forward to the next images. Without hesitation I quickly ran through the puzzle like I had done these as a hobby in my spare time. With each image shown the puzzles became more complex, required more rotations, and because of the order the images were shown to me no block could be spared from the previous alignments. By the 8th image I was breathing quickly from excitement and was more eager than ever to finish as quickly as I could although, I hadn’t been told I needed to rush or that I was being timed. The last one was the hardest one but looking upon the psychiatrist face, I could tell what I’d done was impressive. I was then asked to define a long list of intricate words. Words people rarely used. Words most people wouldn’t know. You know? The words that are painstakingly long and easily replaceable with a synonym less than 5 letters long? We then jumped onto “general knowledge” questions. As quickly as the questions came out the answers were thrown back. I was impressed by myself as I had always believed my memory retention was faulty but even without confirmation I knew I hadn’t given one wrong answer yet. I hadn’t been in the office longer than 5 minutes when I was abruptly told the evaluation was done. I was stunned and abit uncomfortable as I wasn’t told any other information. ARTIST ALLEY : BurntGreenTea

Here at Cosplay in America, I am expanding who I interview to those in the convention scene. Today we will talk to BurntGreenTea who I met in artist alley at Ikkicon, an anime convention in Austin, TX. BurntGreenTea is from Northern California and as stated on his Deviant Art “Hey, my name is Nelson! I like to draw waifus”

EJEN : My first question is why BurntGreenTea?

BURNTGREENTEA: That’s actually my second handle I came up with, I had an embarrassing name before so I wanted to change into something more ironic and more “me” in a name. so I’ve been going as BurntGreenTea ever since. I do drink matcha alot!

EJEN: Tell us how you got started in artist alley, what was your first one and what was that experience like?

BURNTGREENTEA: I started getting interested in doing artist alley at my first Fanime Con back in 2007 as a one day attendee when I was still in high school.

I went with my best friend at the time and it blew my expectations of what a convention was, especially the artist alley since it completely opened my mind that there’s artists actually selling fan art. But I didn’t commit to it until 2012, just when I was in my 2nd year of college.

By that time, I had enough digital art and felt confident that I could do it. Fanime still had the application process of first come first serve (meaning those who apply the earliest will get a spot), so I was fortunate enough to apply fast enough to get a table!

For a first time experience it was nerve-wracking before, during and after the con. But there was something to it that really sparked my interest; and I think there were people that legitimately liked my work and bought them.

EJEN: Was there a point that you went “yeah, this could work” and you made the jump to traveling out of state for artist alley?

BURNTGREENTEA: It was about one and half years after I graduated from college, between that time I worked in a job that was soul sucking but I had many of my colleagues working at, and then after I was applying to animation studios, gaming companies, etc while I was doing commissions and artist alleys at the same time.

It went on like this for almost a year. By this point I felt like I really hit my lowest and felt a great shame that I couldn’t find “stable” work. My parents didn’t really support me doing artist alley during this time since it’s not legit work and it’s more like a fun hobby I can do on the side, all the while I have colleagues and friends who have jobs in the animation or gaming industries. I felt extremely lost, and wasn’t sure the direction I wanted to go in life, so my parents encouraged me to go back to school to get a “safe” degree or trade.

But there was something I knew in the back of my mind that I couldn’t see until I had a meet up with an old friend. She was confident, happy, found her dream job that paid well and she enjoyed the work, and she was completely honest and blunt. When the topic came up of me being lost in life, she asked me, “what did you want to do then?” and I told her honestly, “I really just want to do artist alley and make that work.” “Then just do it.” So I did.

EJEN: After all the time you spent in artist alley, what’s the most important factor that an artist must understand to do decently in sales

BURNTGREENTEA: Research research research. It’s basically “knowledge is power” but breaking down as knowing your audience, yourself (what you enjoy, your strengths and capabilities) and learning new trades while breaking old habits.

EJEN: Can you go more in detail about research, research, research?

BURNTGREENTEA: So this reflects back on my previous answer, so know the convention you’re going into, what you can offer, what’s your budget, everything that would make your experience at the convention you’re getting into a great experience.

I have heard many stories of artists not breaking even and even I had bad experiences due to inaccurate/outdated information or inexperience. For example, there was a first year event that had a $1000 table price tag and promised to bring in 5000 attendees.

This was going to be my second event/convention to table at, so I had no idea what it was going to be like and decided to go for it. It ended up having less than 100 attendees, and I lost a significant amount of money. So now I have to get as much info as I can get to make the convention viable to go to.

EJEN: How do you describe your style and how has it changed if any over the 14 years you’ve done art? What were some of your earlier influences.

BURNTGREENTEA: Right now I can say it’s pretty much anime style, but I can say there were several phases I went through. Looking through my Deviantart gives a great timeline all the way back to middle school until recently.

When I initially started I was getting into anime thanks to friends, so I was very much influenced by Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, and Gurren Lagann. Then in high school I started to do more digital art, eventually creating artwork bigger and grander just like the artists from Fanime I admired.

When I finally started my education in my art program in college, I started getting the proper training in lighting, form, and composition. This time period my pieces were more western-influenced, like more realistic faces and body proportions, but there was something missing in it that I wouldn’t understand until after I graduated. It’s around the same time when I wanted to do artist alleys full time that I was more true to myself in the style and got more flashy, more colorful and composition.

EJEN : How do you decide what Alley to apply for. What’s your personal criteria for conventions to do artist alley at?

BURNTGREENTEA: Local cons are usually easy for me to decide to apply for due to the cost being low(transportation, housing, etc). If there’s anything that involves flying out of state, I have to factor in much more information about the con, personal experiences from other artists, and if it is viable for an anime fan artist to break even and also turn a profit. Usually big conventions like Anime Expo and Otakon are the must go to conventions for their huge attendance numbers.

EJEN: Describe to me a typical day in the Alley!

BURNTGREENTEA: Due to the times right now, it seems like almost a dream to be in an artist alley, haha. Here’s a usual day of being in the Alley: Waking up early to get ready, getting breakfast and caffeine before heading inside a convention.

Usually getting there early, either me or some art friends would walk around the Alley and check out other artists before it’s open to the public. There would be some art friends I made along the way that I can catch up with briefly, chatting about the next shows or projects. I would have probably stayed up kinda late working on physical commissions and would need to go back to my table to continue finishing them up.

When the Alley opens up, it’s mostly engaging and talking with familiar customers or friends, while also working on commissions during the down times. Friends would go on food or snack runs, and I would get an hour to go shopping during the day somewhere as a break.

By the time it ends, it would have felt like it had gone in a flash. But with heavy eyes but our hearts full with a day accomplished. If we had the strength, we would check out an event or explore the convention hall abit more to absorb the atmosphere. Getting dinner with friends after a job well done, while we have another day to look forward to spending time with fans alike.

It’s really nostalgic to reflect on a typical day to be in the Alley, and having to have that all stop for almost a year now.

EJEN: Since the pandemic, how are you coping with this change both personally and business-wise?

BURNTGREENTEA: I was honestly hoping conventions would come back around at the end of May, but that never happened so I had to approach things differently. Luckily I had a freelance gig that I was working part time, so I had a semi-regular income on the side while I applied for virtual conventions and commissions.

It was tough since I wanted 2020 to be the year I would do the most conventions ever but that plan derailed. I also focused on my online shop and my social media presence, which so far is paying off!

Like everyone this year took a mental and physical toll, but I also ended up working on more projects and digital work to help keep me distracted.

EJEN: What are your plans for the future, what are you working on?

BURNTGREENTEA: My goal is still to go back to doing conventions, but at the moment I’m going to give that a pause. Currently I have a contract job that’s ending soon, and I have something that’s NDA that might come up, crossing my fingers! That’s the near future, but for the time being I want to refocus on learning new things and refining my art since I’ve gotten rusty.

What is something you’ve improved with in regards to writing or comic creation thanks to working on your story?

Oh this one i can answer definitively. it's 100% lineart. forcing myself to have to do lineart for hours everyday is definitely a way to force yourself to get better at it while i still don't like it it's something that i can do now without being scared about it

Colouring. I had to get really creative in expressing emotion and hinting plot devices with colour. Also got much better with drawing gesture drawings due to looking at a lot of references!

Cronaj (Whispers of the Past)

Either writing dialogue or drawing/painting backgrounds... I used to be particularly awful at writing dialogue. It was too stiff and formal, and sounded a lot like old prose. Now, because of writing a comic and going through several scripts, the dialogue is a lot more natural, and the pacing is more realistic to actual conversations. And the other: backgrounds. I really used to not even draw them at all, and doing a comic forced me to have to think about environments in scenes. So I went from drawing floating characters to having to consider where they are and how it affects the story/mood.(edited)

Honestly? Everything. It's all gotten better and I've learned so much. I would say my biggest improvement is probably in my time management, and art wise is probably composition and layouts. But it's hard to pick because I've grown so much in every aspect!

Biggest thing I learned was to keep the story small and focused - and that the smaller, more human struggles are much better in creating tension than the whole default "the world's gonna end!" thing. Mind you, I still love a good "world's ending" story, but you gotta make people CARE about the people in that world first!

ohohohoooo I have done more drawing in photoshop in this short time I have worked on Wayfinders, than the rest of my life! That has given me some skills for sure! Coloring is another one, and generally just efficiency and flow in a comic

For me it's been my use of color, and getting more confident in experimenting with it to really drive home a scene's mood!

The clearest improvement I always notice is my layouts - I’ve gotten more adventurous with panel shapes and placement as time has gone on, experimenting with more interesting designs for the whole page. Some of those experiments haven’t been totally successful but it always feels like a worthwhile try. I’ve gotten some really, REALLY cool layouts out of these experiments, and I love seeing how dynamic the panels have become compared to my first chapter. Also speed. I’m so much faster now. Planning. Book 2 is when I started using sketchbook thumbnails to plan ahead. The luxury of that first draft meant I could rethink panel layouts and how to best express the events happening if I first had an idea of what was happening laid out.

Also digital art by necessity since I switched to digital during the current arc. I was decent at lineart already, but other aspects have really challenged me to grow as an artist. I had to totally rethink the way I create backgrounds for instance. During this time the background quality actually declined a little while I got used to a new method, but experience has improved my skills greatly as I force myself into new methods.

Hmmm maybe paneling, speechbubbles and backgrounds? My current project is my second real attempt at doing a comic, but I have learned a lot of stuff from the community and general art and story tutorials. Backgrounds and bubbles were the worst for me when first starting out, I only read manga before starting so the speechbubble shapes did not fit with how English is written. Plus I've only drawn wooded fantasy settings before making my comic, so using a ruler, figuring out perspective points and drawing buildings was very new to me. I still hate drawing cities and such, but I've gotten a lot better at it and it is easier to do now. Since I mostly stuck with B&W before my current project, coloring also kind of improved? Depending on who's looking at it. Lmao If I were to think about story/characters/dialogue, I have no idea if I've improved. Honestly, I don't pay much attention to the quality. Also my brain kinda says it's all bad regardless of what I make.(edited)

For my Improvements: I'm getting better at my comic panels, as I adjust to the vertical style. Before I've always drawn the standard format. It's more than just boxes, I try to keep a variety of sizes. I'm picking up roughly how much 'gutter space' I need per 2-3 panels.etc I'm also improving on choosing colors that fits my love of detailed linework.(edited)

OH! I'm also learning about Clip studio shortcuts, how to use the assets they provide which makes the process, abit easier on me. Things I need to change, is I want to get a good speedy coloring style, without referring to my usual coloring.(edited)

the more I worked on the comic, the more I feel ambitious in making different angles and perspective. Process! Space and i have definitely figured out the most productive way to produce content at the rate and quality that also provides us with time for our own projects. Comics are a useful tool that helps you discover ways to better organize your creative workflow for sure!

I think probably scenery. I used to dread drawing inanimate objects but now I feel more confident in filling in a scene & even look forward to it sometimes. Maybe also page composition and paneling but I still have a lot to learn there

One of the reasons I embarked on the webcomic journey is to push myself to improve not only storytelling but also utilizing art to create a reader experience that would be difficult to replicate with just words. I’d like to think that 9 months into making A Winged Tale, I’ve improved on deciding when is a good opportunity to invest more into backgrounds vs character dynamics and when should be focused more on sequences of panels and composition. While the comic is written in a four panel format, more and more I’m finding areas where the story could be told by breaking those rules (attached pic). It’s a balance and I hope going forward I will improve more in pushing the limits of panels and find ways to express the story in fun and interesting ways.(edited)

I'm slowly learning how to create more engaging comic narrative. I read and research in the polished prem webcomics to see what makes them engaging? Like I'm going to challenge myself by creating a series of short stories with a reoccurring set of characters. Every new comic series I create is an experience, trial and error. Sometimes I skip the writeup and just go in blind, trust my own instincts. I'm glad to reach out and talk about it than in my own head. I hope by this year, I'll have at least 2 chapters of Hybrid Dolls out.(edited)

I've definitely gotten better at planning/ outlining multiple chapters ahead of time. I did not even do this when I was doing the first 10 something chapters. (I did attempt an outline before I began the comic, but the story changed significantly from the outline by the time I started the comic, and I did not try to do it again for a long while.) I can't remember when I started, but I do recall having a lot of trouble the first time I tried to do it. It's gotten a little easier each time, though. In fact, I just spent the past few days outlining the next few very important chapters, de-tangling some big tangles. I'm really glad my outlining (and overall writing) skills had leveled up, because HOO boy, I don't think my 2014-2015 self could have done this!

I also became friends with enviros. I had already become somewhat comfortable drawing perspective when HoK started, but I had a sort of mechanical approach to it, like "oh I need some enviro for these establishing shots, guess I'll draw them." But now I LOVE drawing enviros! (some types anyway...) It's my comfort activity, something I treat myself to after a long day! In the thumbnails for my next few pages, there's a few enviro-heavy panels that I have to remove, because I drew too many of them (and the pacing got too slow as a result). I have to stop myself from drawing too many of these.

My biggest improvement is probably I've come to understand my characters and my themes much better, but that's more of a "I got better at making HoK" than a "I got better at making comics." There's definitely a difference between the two.

You know, I was thinking about about this, mostly about how I wouldn't have been happy if I was able to finish my comic the day I started. Then I realized I'm happy that I didn't. The first chapter wasn't the best, I was just learning how to coloring a comic, still fleshing out my characters and was still brainstorming small kinks in the story. I also still didn't have as much of an understanding of perspective, or panel and bubble layout. Even though I still have a lot I need to work on, I've gotten a lot better in all those aspects. Even though my use of color is weird, I've definitely gotten much more confident in it, enough so that I experiment and take a lot more risks with style. Even though my panelling can be boring, I have a much better understanding of how I want a page to look. I've improved a lot with my planning as well, like even though my thumbnailing/storyboarding only takes maybe 30, I've learned to step away for a bit if I don't like a layout, or analyzing why I don't like it and brainstorming ways to make it better. If I had magically finished the comic all at once, it would look really bad and may have been less readable.

Chiming in! Just this week, Miko (my co-creator) and I were discussing how far we've come from when we started our first comic (https://liarsgotoparadise.com/) vs. where we are now. I think there have been a lot of learn experiences, such as art, dialogue, general editing - but especially with pacing and character interaction. We regret that we didn't stop to focus more on that interaction, as we wanted to move ahead in the story...and now we can't change that, except to start now and not allow ourselves to grow impatient. Take our time and enjoy the journey - that's our new motto. There's a time to rush ahead in perilous moments, but there's also definitely a time to catch our breaths and let the characters mingle and speak. It's an improvement that will become more noticeable going forward in Liars and our second comic as well.

Bane stood outside a large apartment building in the pouring rain. It was old and ugly looking, basically looking about the same thing as the rest of these bland and colorless buildings. He tugged slightly on the collar of his jacket and opened the door, ducking under the doorway and completely ignoring the receptionist's question. His footsteps making the wood creak with every step and soon he found himself in the hallways. He continued his march and staring at the door numbers 110... 111... 112. There. He stood outside the door. Taking a moment to think of a brief plan before he breathed in and kicked down the door with ease.

Joel jumped at the noise of the door slamming into the ground. “Shit, he found me already?” He grabbed his vial of Venom he kept handy when a voice echoed through the house. “¿Joel mí corazón? Is that you making that racket?” He swore again, he had forgotten that Maria was home.

Bane ducked under the doorframe again, not seeming to have heard Maria speaking, as he quickly glanced around the room for a moment. "Come out, child, I know that you are here."

Joel came up to the doorway casually, his face showing no trace of the thoughts whirring through his head. “You could of knocked you know.”

Bane moved surprisingly quickly, grabbing Joel by the neck and lifting him up, slamming him against the wall. "Enough games, boy".

“Woah, woah big guy!” Joel grabbed at his arms with surprising strength. “Chill out a little! Unless you want to sho-“ whatever he was about to say was cut off by him paling at something in the hall.

"Where is the formula?" Bane shouted, pushing him back further into the wall, noticing his pale expression, Bane turned his attention to the hall.

Maria stood in the hall, a bat dangling loosely in her hands. “Antonio?” She questioned hesitantly. “I-is it really you?”

"Maria I- how?" he looked at Joel for a minute now suddenly noticing some very familiar features on the boy's face. Bane let go of him almost immediately, taking a few steps back. His look of shock quickly turning to one of anger and frustration "What the hell is going on here? Is this some sort of trick?" he shook his head, punching the nearby wall and leaving a decent crack.

Joel let out a cough rubbing his neck. “Honestly,” he said abit hoarsely. “I did tell you.” But he was ignored by his mother as she stepped forward. “No tricks Antonio, I-I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but-“ she seemed at a loss for words.

Bane, again looked between Joel and Maria, shaking his head again as he tried to figure out what the hell was going on. He looked down at his bruised hand now. This was definitely real. Not a dream. "I'm leaving" he said simply, making an attempt to walk towards the doorway.

Joel lunged forward and caught his arm tugging him to a stop. “The fuck you are.” He growled, “we are dealing with this now.”

He was surprised by the boy's strength, even moreso at how firm his grip was. He was a fighter like hi- "No!" Bane made another tug, trying to get Joel off of him again "You are not my son."

“Really?!” He tugged back harder this time. “What more proof do you want?” He gestured with his head to his mother. “You think I would bring her in danger of you for some sick joke?”

Bane actually stumbled back into the room now after that tug though he did manage to pull out of Joel's grip, there wasn't much point in leaving now. "You are not my son." he repeated firmly.

“Oh would you st-“ he was interrupted by his mother’s hand on his shoulder. “Antonio, please sit down. You too Joel.” She added firmly to her son who had opened his mouth to protest. “I’ll make some tea and we’ll all talk about this okay?” There was a underlying threat to her words.

Bane sighed, no point in trying to argue with Maria. She was as stubborn as he was, after all. Bane made his way over to the furthest seat in the room and sat down, taking in his surroundings and noticing the pictures of Joel and Maria on the walls and the table. Clearly he had missed out on a lot.

Joel sat down on the seat across from him, now that Bane was here and sitting down he seemed almost calm, like he wasn’t just choked by the man sitting at across from him.

Bane's stared over at Joel now, looking at the boy. He has his hair and his chin and his eyes.. were the same color? "You take Venom?" Bane asked, leaning forward in his seat.

“I did.” He placed the vial he had taken with him on the table, spinning it with a finger. “Until a test batch I was trying dyed my tongue green.” He stuck it out and sure enough it was. “Quit after that, I only take it in emergencies.”

He frowned at that "You're not addicted to it?".

“Oh don’t get me wrong.” He stopped the spinning vial. “It was painful to stop taking it. I had withdrawals and everything. but I also had a support system, mamá was very happy when I told her I was stopping.” He shrugged, “I still do get the urge now and again but I’ve managed to curb it.”

"Impressive." Bane mumbled, turning his attention to the vial now.

Joel noticed his attention shift and clasped the vial tightly, bringing it towards himself. “I can feel your questions from here, and since I’m so nice I’ll answer 3 of them about my Venom strain.”

He grunted "How did you make it?"

“I found some of your Venom, I just pulled apart the formula to its basics and experimented with different chemicals for different effects.” He grinned. “It really wasn’t that hard. I convinced my chemist teacher I needed the lab for a ‘after school project’ she was happy to lend it to me.”

Bane nodded slightly. So it wasn't entirely the same as his own, good. "How long have you been giving this out to people?"

He leaned back thinking hard, “about a year and a half now? We needed a boost of cash and I was desperate.”

"There are other jobs you could have taken. Ones that don't run as much risk".

“Yes but we needed lots of cash right away, and I already had the Venom manufactured. Figured that was better than killing myself off for one of the many mob bosses in Gotham.”

Bane grunted again and shrugged. "I suppose destroying your supply would make life difficult for you and Maria".

“Probably.” He glanced at him, “but somehow I doubt you’ll care all that much.” He resumed spinning the vial. “Hopefully I’m getting a new job soon though. Then I won’t have to sell it anymore.”

"How much is it for a sample?".

“Well it’s my own design, and not nearly as addictive as yours so around 1000$ per sample. It’s pretty costly to make, and each sample only lasts 30 minutes.”

"I want to purchase some of this from you. To see what alterations you have made." Bane glanced over to the kitchen area for a moment. "Later though, when I have the money."

Joel shrugged, “fine by me.” Maria came out of the kitchen holding a tea pot. She poured both Bane and Joel a cup before pouring her own and sitting down beside Joel.

Bane simply took a sip from the cup, remaining silent now.

Maria ran her hand through her hair. “where do I even start?” She sighed, “well first off Joel is your child, no tricks I promise.” She looked down at her cup, her hands tightly gripping the cup. “When he was born I lied about his death. I was terrified at what might of happened if he grew up under your... influence.” She looked up at that. “Not that you have a terrible influence! But you live such a dangerous lifestyle, i was afraid he’d try to follow in your footsteps and get hurt.” She scoffed at that. “A load of good that did me, he worked out and took Venom just to be like his pops.” A strangled sound came from Joel but she ignored it. “You probably have a lot of questions, and I’ll try to answer them as best I can.”

Bane shook his head and stared at her "I would have protected you both if you had stayed, you both could've lived in as much luxury as you wished. Why did you leave?" he looked away as he muttered "I needed you".

“I know you could of, but you were so focused on your goals and I didn’t want to raise my child in that much violence and addiction.” Her voice quieted, “ it was a hard choice I didn’t want to leave but I had to for Joel.”

Bane sighed and simply took a sip of the tea.

She tapped her cup anxiously. “I’m sorry, I should of told you. It wasn’t fair of me to hide our son from you.”

"He's practically a man now." Bane sighed "Maybe I should've made more of an effort to find you both."

“It’s never to late to start.” She leaned forward, “you are always welcome to come visit whenever you’d like.” Maria grinned at him. “Just as long as you don’t kick our door down every time you come to visit.”

Bane stared over at Joel for a moment before shaking his head. "I-I am not sure." he placed down his glass. "There is still so much that needs to be done. The Venom, the Bat. I don't know if I would even have that kind of free time."

Maria smiled at him. “Of course, I understand.” She glanced over at Joel who was biting his lip and looking away. “But if you do have the time don’t be a stranger alright?” She collected her empty cup and stood up. “I have to head to my job now, you are welcome to stay here and get to know Joel a little better if you’d like.”

"It-it was nice to see you again, Maria." Bane smiled back at her looking... shy? "Sorry about the door, I'll pay for it."

“It was nice to see you too Bane,” She lent down and placed a kiss on Joel’s cheek and then planted another on Bane’s cheek. “I’ll send you a bill for the door.” And with that she left the room.

He blinked, staying silent for a moment, shaking his head slightly. "I do not know what I did to deserve someone like Maria." he muttered before looking over at Joel and clearing his throat slightly. "I hope you've been treating her well."

“Of course I have!” He looked slightly insulted at this, “she was all I had.” His voice quieted at that as he resumed fiddling with the vial.

"A feeling I know all too well." Bane nodded before sighing "I'm sorry for taking all this as I did."

Joel shrugged, “honestly I wasn’t any better about it. We both were kinda awful.” He bit his lip, thinking for a moment before coming to a decision. “Here,” he said sliding the vial towards Bane. “Consider it, a peace treaty. On the house” he added.

Bane paused for a moment, seeming to be taken aback by this, before taking it and placing it carefully in his pocket "Gracias." he said with a small nod. "So, do you have any questions about me? After I've been asking you questions it's only fair that you should do the same".

“De nada,” he leaned back thinking hard. “How come you never visited mamá? I mean you were obviously close, so how come you never contacted her when she left?”

"I fell in love with her the moment I conquered all of Santa Prisca" he nodded before sighing "But after she left me I had sunk into a deep depression and in that moment I decided it would be better to conceal these feelings and try to forget her. It never did work and obviously I was wrong to do so."

Joel nodded, “these, so you still have feelings for her then.” It wasn’t a question that time.

"Yes." he replied, nodding again.

“Thought so.” He leaned father back in his chair lifting the front legs off the ground. “Are you going to try and come visit? Not for me of course.” He said quickly. “But for mamá?”

"I am uncertain. There is still a lot to be done." Bane, rubbed the back of his neck slightly as he spoke "But it wouldn't hurt to drop by, I am staying Gotham for a while" he added with a small smile.

Joel smiled at him. “Good, because I’d have to kick your ass if you disappeared again after showing up for the first time in 17 years.”

"I'd like to see you try" he chuckled, shaking his head.

“Please.” He flexed jokingly, “with these guns I could take on any-SHIT!“ his statement was cut short when the chair legs toppled underneath him and he fell onto the ground unceremoniously.

Bane laughed, rising to his feet and making his way over to Joel and offering him a hand "Learn to be more aware of your surroundings and maybe you'll be able to take me out yet" he smiled down at him.

Joel took it pulling himself up, “gracias, you know for a guy who was threatening to break my legs you’re not half bad.” He grinned sheepishly at him.

"And for an arrogant, egotistical little man" he patted Joel's shoulder slightly "You're a good son."

Joel looked away at that, “thanks.” He turned to him, “I’m not gonna start calling you my padre just yet though. That’d be weird.”

"Perfectly fair." Bane said with a nod. "I should probably take my leave now though but not before I learn the names of your clients, of course. I don't plan on killing them, just making sure that they aren't trying to mass produce your own formula".

“Right, I’ll be back in a flash,” he jumped over his chair on the floor pushing it up with his foot before turning down a hall. “ I have the list in my room.” He shouted, “just let me find it-AHA!” He came back holding a paper with a grin. Holding it out to Bane he said, “ and if I find out you’ve killed any of these people for no good reason I will hunt you down.”

Bane chuckled before offering a handshake "We'll see what happens, Joel."

“Mhm.” He clasped his hand firmly and shook it. “See you around Bane.”

Bane nodded before turning and walking over what remained of the front door, ducking under the doorframe and walking out the apartment.

Joel watched him go, it wasn’t a perfect fairy tale ending where everything had been miraculously fixed but it was a start.

Red Velvet: Sun and Moon

💕Hello! I wanted to talk about Red Velvet’s Sun and Moon today! I think I’ll be adding in their decans to these analysis, because it helps color them better individually. I figured this a good series to start off with before I jump into doing each of the members individually. Since I’ve only made one of these posts before for Black Pink, I wanted to see how dense it would be, now that I’ve had some practice! There’s already an overview of Yerim up but hopefully this would be more of a focus to her character! 💕

💕disclaimer: i’m no expert on astrology but these are my interpretations of the signs and how they’re working based on my experiences with them. Everyone has different opinions and studies in astrology, all interpretation and experiences within the realm is valid. However feel free to make your own post or skip if you strongly disagree. There might be inaccuracy and difference in opinions. But the point of this post is to relate, entertain and have a fun time. I’m hoping to validate people with similar experiences and get people excited about the girls+ astrology. Also, since we don’t know most of their birth times, I’m using the standard 12.00pm💕

God I love her so much, she’s so fucking good

Irene is such a freaking good example of Arian beauty, I know there’s alot of gushing about Libra/Taurus because of their ruling planet Venus. But Aries native are REALLY beautiful, their Mars energy is invigorating and exuberant to be around.

If Venus ruled signs are like catching a wiff of something pleasant, the tinkling laughter in the wind- Mars beauty is like the heated-humid draft of a sauna on your skin, and the first swallow of something hot down your throat after freezing your ass off in the cold.

There’s something about them that feels like you’re eyes are opened for the first time, they wake up your senses. Their energy is felt so palpably. It’s like that moment where you realize you’ve been in love with the person for a really long time, and just noticed all of their beauty; ‘oh shit, they’re actually GORGEOUS’

Irene has both Mars and Venus energy in her Sun/Moon sign, since her Aries sun is in 1st decan (Mars ruled) and her Virgo moon is in 3rd decan (Venus ruled/Taurus)

Since the Venus is in her moon, it’s not apparent on her face. It’s is however, in her eyes.

Virgos-Taurus people tend to have really expressive eyes. And even though she tends to keep them less expressive (This is because of Virgo moon’s emotional discipline and reserved nature) , the moment she smolders or gaze at you- there’s a charm that just magnetize you to her.

You know that gaze is extremely attractive, and it’s harmonic in nature (Taurus/Venus). But her aura/face/expression itself. Wow that’s all Aries.

What makes Arian beautiful is it’s in force. It’s compulsion, and you feel coerced into stopping in your track. There’s something there that made you stop breathing for a second because of them. That’s why she can be seen as so beautiful, but at the same time so intimidating.

It’s not the same kind of intimidating that Scorpio or Capricorn has (it’s - Arian intimidation is like a a game of tag, there’s a playfulness to it but also a mischievous energy that’s bewitching.

Also, her eyebrows is really Aries? People with strong Arian influence have similar eyebrows. Strong and kinda shaped in pressuring way.They look like they could be in a gang and take your money and they all hang out together somehow. (Lisa, Yoongi, Taehyung and more but thats all I’ve looked into so far)

The sun symbolizes your ego, your sense of self and your self-expression. Aries sun typically are more laid back than what people realize, they like hanging out with friends and enjoys great company more than people think. They’re not introverted nor extroverted, they can be away from people to do their own thing because they’re independent (Irene is a homebody, and thats mostly her Virgo moon), but they generally like to have fun. In a way they can be pretty ambivert when they want to be.

Aries aren’t as ‘wild’ or ‘out there’ as people think they are. They aren’t like air signs who actually feels good talking to others. Aries tends to stick to close knit groups of friends they carry with them, usually through years of knowing each other.

There’s not much that they can’t accept in other people, which they’re pretty sympathetic to other’s plight. But god, don’t ever wrong them.

They have some seriously strong moral code that they live by, and if someone ever crosses that line they’ll let them know immediately that they’re not pleased.

They have no patience for people who crosses those morals, and they usually defend those around them as well.

They’re not self-centered, they actually have a pretty grounded sense of self/others. It’s half way from being detached like an air-sign or people-cautious like an earth-sign. Fire sign sees themselves as a separate entity from others and expects others do the same.

They innately feel that everyone has this sense of self-ego and self-expression and we’re all kind of sharing this energy with each other? Vibing off but not sucking energy off of each other seems to be the key.

That’s why sometimes they get confused when air signs refuses to share anything private about themselves with others, or water signs tries to live precariously through others becomes dangerous. It panics and confuse them when others don’t see that self-independence and having the freedom to be themselves is something extremely important. And they’re pretty noble in assuming the good in humanity at all in any relationships.

Irene really shows off her Arian traits when she smiles or laughs with her friend. You can see that she’s much more laid back with interpersonal relationship than people seem to realize. It makes them want to get to know her, however intimidating she might be. And she’s not opposed to it! She’s actually pretty open to friendship, but only to those who come to her sincerely and honestly. She’s not one for playing mind games with others, and she doesn’t need anyone who would complicate her life. They wouldn’t get any time of her day.

Aries sun typically doesn’t like to put up airs or front, they’re direct, straight forward and pretty honest to others and to themselves. They feel like it hinders communication and progress, they like to be themselves and they like to be in presence of others who are just themselves as well.

That’s why Irene really doesn’t put on airs at all, what you see is just her being honest and earnest to others around her in hopes that they’ll give the same respect back.

Since the moon symbolizes one’s emotions and subconscious/thoughts, and her Aries sun is pretty honest - her feelings inside is probably projected on her face pretty often. She’s really not hiding anything, the Sun IS reflecting truthfully what her moon is like. But the problem in itself is her moon and how she deals with her emotions.

Virgo moon can have a hard time relating to others in a way that’s passive, because they’re always productive and progressive, they’re always trying to find solutions to the problem, or immediately jump to do something to make the other person better. Self-sufficiency is important to Virgo natives, and the way they relate to others is to help offer solutions that might have them become self-sufficient too. Sometimes, when you just want someone to listen to you and not offer criticism, they’re pretty bad at taking those cues.

On Irene, as one’s moon it can make the person overthink or be harder on themselves when there’s no reason to be. Their strive/drive for self-sufficiency keeps them busy, so they’re always bustling around with abit of nervous energy trying to keep their minds busy and their emotions ‘productive’. This in itself is pretty healthy, if they learn how to moderate.

However, Virgo moons tends to overwork itself to the point of blocking emotions they deem ‘unproductive’ or they can’t ‘fix’/’find a solution to’. It can lead to them being more self-critical and self-decrepitating than they should be, and can really lower their self-confidence.

They also try to emotionally discipline themselves, thinking that if they try to structure and create order in their emotions- they can work through it productively. Truthfully, this isn’t how emotions are supposed to work. They tend adopt a cautious, reserved nature because of this. And it still doesn’t fix or help them gain back their self-confidence.

Irene can be a bit reserved emotionally. But because of her Aries Sun her emotions aren’t immediately tied to how she probably feels about herself. She has that regal look, that outward ego she projects that stands strong. Honestly, if she had anything other than a fire sun, her virgo moon would’ve been much more apparent or toxic in nature. They balance each other out in a way.

Virgo natives also tends to be much shier. Much like Pisces they’re about more responsive and receptive to those around them. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, so there’s a need for communication with the world outside. Virgos are responsive when communicated with, and they appear to have good senses in what to do to respond to people. They value efficiency, and that usually means direct and open communicators.

They appreciate high standards in other people, since they tend to hold themselves at a standard that’s harder to achieve as well. They have an appreciation for what is appropriate (topics/conversation/art) and appreciate people who respect them for it.

Virgos are really nurturing, they like to do little things for others even if they never say it aloud for ask for any credits. Little forms of love and dedication is how they show their appreciation for someone. And sometimes they can be hard on themselves for not being able to show their feelings of love in grander or ‘heartfelt’ ways (they compare themselves to other signs a lot, and admire them for things they cannot do).

It probably benefited her a lot to be in a group, because her Virgo moon wants to help serve and be appreciated for her work and the effort she put into caring for others. She feels more useful in group settings than alone. Although they’re reserved, that doesn’t mean they like to be alone all the time.

They can have pretty low self-esteem which can lead to insecurities or self-destructive behaviour. They can feel like they’re not enough, not ‘good’ enough not ‘productive’ enough. They’re the type to be on a feedback loop, since they work on responses. If they feel they aren’t ‘good’ enough they ‘work’ on it immediately. They don’t tend to dwell in the feelings.

It’s a bad habit that should be taken in moderation, I really think being around the members helps her so much with regulating it and not putting herself down too much. She also seems much happier to be around them because she knows they appreciate her and gives her the satisfaction she needs.

They possess great professionalism. Her Aries has an energizing, pro-active entrepreneurial spirit, and it’s amplified by Virgo’s high standards making her a responsible and take certain initiatives that will help others around her.

Being a leader for her might’ve felt complicated since emotionally, she’s uncomfortable being in the spotlight (Virgo moon) but at the same time, she won’t say no to a challenge. She’s pretty daring like this right? She won’t give up before she tries and that’s for anything she does.

Virgos are naturally curious, and they tend to be critical when making an argument. This can lead to her offering cold and sometimes unsympathetic but very practical advice to others. To water-moons this can be extremely infuriating, but often times it’s meant to help them better themselves. She cares for others, even though her devotion and compassion may be misunderstood. She’s gentle and moderate and often- practices emotional discipline.

With how the public holds her in such high standards, I’m sure she realizes to a certain extent that it’s something she doesn’t like to talk about. Virgos’ already prone to being self-critical, when it’s in her moon and she’s often in a society that talks constantly about her look -it can put on unnecessary and weight and pressure on her to evaluate herself every single turn. Without proper self-confidence or esteem it can be crushing to the generally shy native Virgos. They don’t even like the spot light being on them since it generally means their life is going to get hectic and messy.

People of this combo typically prefers honesty and simplicity. There’s really nothing more to Arian or Virgo natives than their need to have a clean, simplified and pure people around them. They tend to live simply and likes streamlining everything, often times they know it’ll help progress everything much faster if people would just listen to them more.

February 10 1994 (Gyeonggi-do, Korea) - Aquarius Sun/Aquarius Moon

God I love her, I love her even more when I realize she’s a Taurus rising according to her birth time (11.30am - thank you Natal Goddess Sunmi!! 💕)

Seulgi has her sun in the 3rd decan, ruled by Venus/Libra. Her beauty and charm is so alluring - she turns heads just by being herself! People with Venus/Libra ruling their Sun (ego/self-expression) tends to have this charming and attractive aura about them.

In her Aquarius sun it brings about good fortune and popularity since her individuality stands out even more. You know how she doesn’t have a conventional-style pretty face? That’s the effect of Venus-ruled Aquarian natives.

It also makes the Aquarius more romantic. Although they are notoriously known for their aloof and standoffish traits, Aquarius can be incredibly romantic especially in this position. They can match the emotional intensity water-signs have in their affection, and their devotion to those that they love are massive.

Aquarius natives under this influence still retains their eccentric and unique personality. Although it’s softened considerably they can be obstinately stubborn (even more with her Taurus rising).

They love hanging out with people, especially loved ones. And they’re excitable and joyous to be around. People with Venus ruled Libra in their sun (ego) generally prefers to keep peace and resolve any confrontation through charm or wit instead.

In a way, Aquarius ruled by Libra are kind of similar to Virgos but less severe. Their dedication to perfecting their work, or things they sees as important is very faithful to their craft. Individuality and self-expression takes on a turn that’s much more serious than Aquarian natives tends to realize.

There’s a strong emphasis on harmonic energy and self-expression that comes intuitively to her.

With her Aquarius Moon in 2nd Decan, her mind and ability to connect to people makes her so expressive to be around. Her moods and emotions are influenced by Mercury/Gemini- which means it changes rapidly and you can see it all in her face sometimes.

When innovation (Aquarius) combined thinking/expression (Mercury) - Seulgi’s mind can think of really ingenious and fresh original ideas that no one had thought of before.

She is quick-witted and a fast thinker, has intellectual abilities that analyzes situations and come up with solutions through thinking logically and unconventionally.

She is also very pleasant speaker who sun’s charming element really helps to grabs everyone’s respect through her moon/mind’s abilities.

She’s not necessarily emotional, but her sun’s romantic qualities more than makes up for her with it. She’s not the type to rush into relationships, butshe’s willing to devote herself in romantic affections than the typical aloof Aquarius archetypes.

This combination under the rule of the Decans really lucked out on her, because she even if tends to use her head more, she has a lot of tender affection she’s willing to give. Her communication skills really helps balance and keeps things along, and she’s amazingly devoted to those that she loves.

One thing though, she can be so charming and alluring through both her sun/moon Decan that she tends to come across as flirty/attract others to her even if she was just being friendly.

As an Air sign Aquarius are much more prone to jealousy than Libra/Gemini. Usually when it comes to intelligence, they want to know that their mind and vision inspires others or influence them most.

Seulgi might be jealous too sometimes, when she feels overlooked or overshadowed by others. Although she probably won’t throw a fit about it, she can get sulky and hurt.

February 21 1994 (Seoul, Korea) Pisces Sun/Gemini Moon

Gemini 3rd decan (Uranus/Aquarius)

Let’s touch on her moon first this time! Wendy’s moon is a Gemini in 3rd decan, which is ruled by Uranus/Aquarius.

It’s such a great placement because it gives her introverted water sun a social placement to channel all that energy through! It also balances her out, making her more stable and ambivert instead of just introspective that Pisces sun tends to do.

Now Air-moons in general needs a lot of mental stimuli and activities to feel rejuvenated, usually they’re the types to need to hang out with friends at all time, especially with an Aquarius influence she often appears more socially active than the rest of her members.

Aquarius/Uranus decan rules the eleventh house, which is the house of friends and social groups. She’s a very friend-oriented individual. Despite needing time alone to contemplate about stuff (Pisces sun) she wants to hang out with people all the time. Her Gemini moon is pretty reactive (like a fire-sign) there’s a nervous energy to it that needs immediate gratification to get out.

The difference between Wendy’s Gemini Moon (Aquarius decan) and Seulgi’s Aquarius moon (Libra decan) is that in Gemini are a bit more practical and callous than Libra. Whilst Libra is selective, open and often compromising Gemini tends to be more quick-witted, absorbant and more interested in just having more conversations than selecting those people. To Libra, there’s a subtle reserved quality to it that Gemini don’t tend to have.

In Gemini Moons there’s also a stronger need to external responses, social media and talking to people. She tends to be the type of roommate who would probably want to talk and actually connect with who she’s living with, rather than approach them cautiously or expect them to start conversations all the time.

Gemini makes great conversationalists, and they’re pretty open-minded and free-spirited. Combined with Aquarius influence she tends to make friends in heaps and loads. She’s very friendly and very expressive, tends to be out-going (even if she needs time alone for her Pisces sun) and are very easy to talk to.

Although Gemini gets a reputation for being kind of short-attention, fake, indecisive and wishy-washy, they’re not. It’s their curiousity and that drives them, if they’re engaged in something they’re rational and logical about their approach.

You can’t absorb information in just one sitting (no matter what Sagittarius or Capricorn may say). They know that the way to learn is to take it in smaller steps. You shouldn’t study something for more than 30 minutes at a time, because that’s how attention span works. Gemini utilize this, they’re intelligent and up-beat to be around because they know how to manage and accept common sense.

There’s something so eye catching about Wendy, her Pisces sun definitely gave her that look of someone otherworldly but it’s her wit and the Uranus influence on her Moon that gives her eyes a sharp and playful edge. She seems honest and willing to listen to others, which is a very big asset to her success.

She has a dreamy, whimsical sense of self-expression and it comes through on her face. Wendy’s ‘unreal’ beauty is actually her Pisces sun working to weave her subconscious and reality together and giving her that soft, dreamy vibes.

Wendy’s sun (self-expression) is hidden underneath her moon’s exterior. The air moon really projected itself outward, because there’s more of a need for interactions and activities. Her emotional growth depends on it more so than her personal one.

To Wendy, she probably believes more in her ability to talk and her intellect rather than charm them into being attracted to her. It’s much more important for these placements that there’s someone who understands and appreciates their intellect more than their looks. Since Pisces is pretty shy, she might often use her moon to compensate for her sun, which can lead to her suppressing her Pisces (ego/self confidence) instead. This isn’t healthy and it can lead to more insecurities about herself as well as comparison to others, since her air-moon will always try to connect everything to the outside world - her Pisces sun (ego) might be hurt and feel helpless in this situation.

There’s benefits to having a Pisces moon, and she should make sure to take advantage of that! She can be wise instead of just intelligent and smart, there’s a difference. She gives all sorts of good advice when she actually sits down and let her Sun take control for a second.

Pisces usually make their advice from inside of the person, whilst Gemini seeks to find advice externally. With her suppressing her Pisces, she might not feel as confident or connected to her own self-expression and confidence, she might lose control of knowing who she really is beneath the overwhelming Gemini moon that she has. But she should believe that there’s something really ingenious and authentic in her Pisces that she could use to help others.The pisces sun has been through the cycle of the zodiac, and they’re very compassionate in nature.

Reasons why she might not trust her Pisces sun compared to her Gemini moon are various. First of all, the Gemini moon already tries to exude or imitate an ‘external’ self already. This is just how Geminis are in any placement of a person. (They’re the twins, so if someone has Gemini in different placements on their chart, they tend to have different gemini ‘personas’ for each of those signs as well)

Pisces suns are pretty adaptable, but at the same time they can be nervous and unreliable. Sure they’ll be there for people, but if a situation isn’t turning out well, they’re way more fluid and adaptable and would probably be gone before it even turns awry.

Pisces can often be often misunderstood. They tend to spend a good portion of their life yearning for understanding from society, this might also be why she seek to use her Gemini Moon so much because this way, she can make up for the insecurities her Pisces sun might feel.

Since Pisces is ruled by Neptune, they can sometimes idealize or romanticize concepts- even toxicity and suffering can be made into self-delusions into thinking it’s a good thing to suffer. Sure, she thinks it’s troublesome and maybe she’s kind of sick of herself, but learning to love and accept part of you, to cherish part of you is so so important. As soon as she learn this, her Sun will immediately shine brighter and help her improve her overall stability so much more.

Pisces suns are great at seeing the bigger picture, since they’re bigger dreamers as well. They’re calming and comfortable to be around because they exude that aura of understanding about them. There’s a deep love for humanity in Pisces, but the tiny little details of daily life can escape them.

With all the energy the moon brings she might have a tendency to under appreciate her sun. There’s abit of a confusion here because even though she’s confident and head strong in her ability to choose people wisely and connect with others, she does want to be appreciated for her softer qualities that she doesn’t do for herself sometimes. It can be deeply hopelessly romantic with her.

Those who compliments her intellect are nice, and she’s proud of that. But what really touches her heart is when someone notices her compassionate, giving and kind nature. Because she herself doesn’t acknowledge her own sun sometimes (or forget about it)

Her Pisces qualities is often neglected more often when it’s pushed back in lure of social interaction, there’s just no time for bringing it out when she’s too busy living in the now.

Both her Virgo sun and Taurus moon are in decans that are influenced by Capricorn, Joy is really our Earthy Queen since that means she has all three earth signs in her chart.

Decans are like the overarching tonality in your life on how it influences the placements, so with her Virgo sun and Taurus moon- there’s a slow moving but stead-fast determined presence about her that’ll get her through hardships in life.

Since Saturn is kind of somber and solemn, influencing both her ego/self-expression and her emotions she can be alot more serious and critical than what we see.

This also makes her kind of awkward when she’s uncomfortable, she’s definitely professional and she does her job well- but you can see that she’s very stiff when she’s dealing with strangers (not like Irene who’s reserved but is confident in herself. but rather, Joy is more like she doesn’t know how to deal with things when it’s not familiar or objective)

All her earth signs placement has a love for simplicity and ‘natural’ stuff in her life. They have a need to streamline and organize things into structure, before setting about doing ‘tasks’ to get it done.

If she ever comes across as intentionally unsympathetic to others, often it’s because the person probably isn’t that great of a person. Earth signs have such a strong emphasis on being noble, honest and distinguished. They hold themselves and others at a higher-standards morally, they absolutely would not stand it when other people are dishonest or unmoral.

There’s a sense that she shines bright, and that’s from her aura of self-sufficiency and self-contentment - this is very Virgo sun. They tend to come across as keenly observant of themselves and their surroundings, and able to keep up with the pace of the world but with amazing stability within themselves.

Virgo suns are also easily embarrassed, despite their shyness and discomfort in the spotlight. Joy can be exceptionally good at keeping a poker face when she wants to be professional due to her Capricorn’s influence, however she gets really easily embarrassed when its personal things. People with sensitivity to their environment tends to cry alot but with earth signs all around her- all her feelings are probably suppressed deep deep down. She doesn’t want to burden anyone else with her emotions or her problems, but she should let it out as soon as it happens - the digging feeling inside her chest would only grow if she doesn’t and she can easily be impassive later on in life.

Her showing real actual emotions would be better than keeping it in, even when she feels like she has nothing to contribute or express- be sure to just let it go and it’ll come naturally. Trust in herself and her feelings more.

Kim Ye Rim (Yeri)

March 5, 1999 (Seoul, Korea) Pisces Sun/Libra Moon

Once again we’re back at it with our girl Yeri!

Since I didn’t touch on her decans last time I’m going to go focus more into this now.

Yeri’s Pisces sun is in the 2nd house, ruled by the Moon/Cancer. Out of all the pisces decans, they’re highly intuitive and in touch with their emotions. Sometimes their intuition can be so strong and so precise that it might even seem like six sense.

Since Pisces is ruled by Neptune, people with these decans often feel older than how they actually are. The realms of their subconscious and ability to drift in the inner conscious is so vast and expansive, that often they might appear to have precognitive abilities or just sense danger before it actually happens instead.

Yeri’s Pisces Sun influenced by her Cancer decan also would reflect on how harsh she would take things like death sometimes. Since it’s missing a piece of Scorpio who rules transformation and life-rebirth, immediate change in the external world can be very jarring and ‘sink’ them down very easily despite the emotional barrier Cancer may carry with them.

Their feelings are highly fluctuated and affected, and they can feel things so deeply that is projected from their environment that they tend to break down crying often if they’re feeling emotionally vulnerable.

With her sun being influenced by the moon, she has a deep profound bond and connection to other people’s feelings as well.

Not only is she more adept at understanding her own emotions and getting through her own problems, she has a highly keen empathetic bond and is soothing/serene to be around.

She gives great foresighted advice that may seem wise and well-beyond her years, as well as emanate an aura of reliability about her that tells people everything’s going to be alright.

Aquarius also ruled the 11th house, which Libra vibrates excitably at getting the chance to interact with friends, hopes, wishes and social activities more.

The 11th house is social interactions with people and having this influence in her life- especially for her Moon means that she’ll get the benefit of flaunting her softer lighter trait in social groups even more.

Often validations and approvals comes from people who knows/are close to her because she has an innate ability of exceptionally joining sociability to sensitivity and understanding others.

Since Uranus (intellect) influences her Libra’s Venus (romance) she’s less likely to fall into traps or be emotionally vulnerable around people no matter how she much she wants to. This is important, because Aquarius energy on her moon keeps her from doing too much, feeling too much, and it can be restricting for her sometimes but ultimately- it’ll be a good backbone for her.

She might lash out due to how logical and critical she is sometimes, and she’s frustrated at herself because the rest of sun/moon is harmonic, and there’s just this nagging interference. But she has to understand how to accept it, love it and work with it instead.

She’s sentimental and romantic for sure, but behind all that Yeri makes sure she makes her decisions based on wits and logic. Although her Pisces sun might be a bit uncomfortable with that, her emotions/inner self would never let it overtake her.

Since it is a decan, it might be something she has to learn instead of an ingrained ability. She’ll have to grow into learning how to use her logical side the Uranus brings in her moon to inform more of her emotional responses and decisions. But ultimately it is a healthy balancing placement for her to have.

She’s strong, this girl. And she can take a lot of pressure, but to deal with it sometimes she can tend suppress the feelings her Pisces sun/self. Make sure to let it out sometimes, tell someone how hurt she is and be honest with herself in the comfort of people she knows and cares about would help a lot.

💕These are actually really easier to do than just individual member, they’re much less taxing as well! Although I started this before I did the KTH post, I ended up finishing it much later just because I was having a hard time grooming through Irene’s part. God, anyways the only hard thing about this post is having all the members chart pulled up at the same time but otherwise it’s been really fun! 💕

I first saw Turin last summer & thought it was a neat looking yarn. I proceeded to pick it up, feel it, examine it… then I saw the price tag.. eeekk 19.99. I carefully put it back on its shelf, as at that time I couldn’t see spending 20.00 on yarn I had no clue what I was gonna do with it. I found myself in-front of the display staring at this yarn every time I made a trip to Hobby Lobby. Then, I say around Thanksgiving.. The Yarn Gods granted me my wish. It was ON SALE 🙂 It was buy 1 get 50% second, plus their usually 40% off a item coupon. I did the calculations and to my delight I came home with 2 skeins of Turin 🙂

I decided on making floor mats with this yarn. It seemed sturdy enough along with being a pleasant feel on bare feet. Excited to get started I jump in full force. I was pleased to know that 1 skein makes a decent sized mat.

The rectangular mat measures Approx 26 X 19 inches… The round is approx 26 inches round. They are great for smaller areas. Ofcourse if you are wanting a larger mat you will need more than one skein. The skeins themselves do not look like that have alot of yarn to them… reason I had purchased 2 but while making the first mat, the yarn just kept spitting outta the skein.. Like I said pleasantly surprised.

The Technical Stoof…

Turin comes in a few different color schemes. There is 6 total. The yarn I choose was Granite

Net WT.. 17.6oz .. 270yds

75% Acrylic, 15% Nylon, 10% Wool … Hand wash cool water.. lay flat to dry

Recommended 10mm Hook/ Needle

The Good, Bad and Ugly…

This yarn is on the soft side. Colors are very nice and transition well. Did not run into any tied together “ends” in either skein I used, they were one continuous strand.

The outer fiber is spun onto a decent sized foundation strand. The outer fiber appears to be tightly woven but working with it you can feel it “slide” slightly on the foundation strand.

When working with this yarn.. I recommend knowing exactly what your going to do with it and/or have a pattern ready for it. Frogging this yarn was a living nightmare. It catches on itself and you must undo each stitch individually 😦 Hiding ends is also on the frustrating side as the outer layer of the yarn slides and bunches up on you as your weaving the end in. I found wetting and twisting the outer layer of the yarn slightly before weaving helped alittle.

Anything that requires pulling the yarn threw stitches, like hiding ends, making a magic circle( yeah does not work at all), etc, bunches up the yarn.

When all is said and done… I don’t hate this yarn, it was abit of a challenge and great learning experience. However, Im not sure I would say I love this yarn either. It got me out of my comfort zone which is great but truthfully, Id rather not deal with the hassel it creates… If I need to replace or need more floor mats, I would buy this yarn, just for that reason but its not one that would be kept in stock on my favorites stash shelf.

Week 11 3AP BLOG

-- Experience --

This week marks the end of our 2 week short Term Break in which me and my team has already started the coloring and compositing of our shots in After Effects to prepare for the next week’s school presentation of our POC to our lecturers as well as our classmates. This week however, our lecturers commented that the shots were short and may seem abrupt and be unclear which was similar to the difficulty we faced last week. I have had Hugo put together the shots that were colored and it seem to worked really well except for the fact that in one shot the Red Panda was suppose to do a quick turn around before facing the fire entity after its failed attempt of trying to escape. Hence I decided to draw a quick turn around to represent that so that the audience would not be unsure of what is happening. Though right now my tasks are more or less completed, I still try to aid my other team mates in the compositing and coloring aspect of the film

-- Process--

This week I tried to ensure the the more high detailed scenes to not differ to much from the less detailed long shot scenes since the consistency still has to be present. For instance I made the fire entity’s flame to acquire a more orange hue instead of the usual red ones since it was difficult for my teammates to color a more detailed flame in toonboom for the wider shots. I also added more “props” to the Panda’s fearful face like sweat and shivers so that it conveys a clear cut emotion of the character to the audience

--Difficulty--

This week’s work load has been fairly simple. However, I am just afraid that the compositing and camera movements in after effects may require quite abit of time to complete .

today had been exceptionally wonderful

the school trip was not like any other trip you had during your highschool stay

although most seniors had been complaining about how the trip could have been exclusive for your batch

it didn’t matter to you because in all honesty, you barely knew everyone anyway so it didn’t really make a difference

you had a small clique within your senior batch and a few friends here and there around the campus

the planetarium was the absolute quacking bomb

you had enjoyed every bit of the night as it was the last stop and the school had also reserved the whole grounds for an overnight camp

it was heaven for you

and having two of your close friends as your tent-mates

polaroid photos slowly filling in your little album from most of today’s experiences

but that last thing to wrap up today’s itinerary was what you’d been looking forward to the most

was the show in the planetarium

seated between your two friends, Lee Suhyun and Kang Sira

and enjoying every bit and every minute of how they laid out the universe

it was all beautiful

breathtaking

far more than you imagined it to be

the last time you had some planetarium visit was a small one in a mall that showed dinosaur life and same mall different theme for the second one

the universe tour for the planetariums were always sold out with older couples usually filling in the seats

and your parents ofcourse would disapprove of you coming home late at night

so anyway

being giddy over the show

the smile on your lips never leaving as your eyes barely blinking and your mouth never closing

the full 30 minutes had been what you considered the best and so far your favorite part in your life so far

yes you loved exploring the universe that much

that you lowkey believe in aliens

because they’re more possible than ghosts--

as you would often say

“the universe is huge. why would you think we’re the only living species?”

the show ends, and you tell yourself that you were definitely going again

maybe during college

but anyway

dinner comes, it was utter choas

good thing everything was by class and yes even the cooking

it was basically an MT than an educational fieldtrip

the teachers were around telling all students that they had 30 mins before going to bed

and you couldn’t find your polaroid camera even after dinner

you thought you had left it in the tent but it was nowhere to be found

until you remembered that you must have left it inside the planetarium showroom

30 mins was enough time to walk to the building, find your camera and walk back to the camping area

you didn’t want to bother your friends so you went alone with only your phone, jacket and the small blanket wrapped around you

dim lights as you entered the place

walking over to your previous seat from earlier, hand patting underneath your chair

you sigh in relief as you feel your camera still there

but almost let out a shriek when something close to you moved

realizing it was another student you let out another sigh of relief

because as much as you didn’t believe in ghosts, it’s still different thinking you’re alone and apparently have someone else

like what if it was a murder or something

judging from the red sweatpants, it was a freshman

yes ya’ll color coded by batch so you can imagine it like skittles walking around from birds eye view

he seemed to be asleep and it was fairly dark so you couldn’t really see his face

but you shook him gently till he was awake

he sat up so abruptly and the fact that he was near your seat from earlier made you think back

but you were pretty sure the row you sat on were all seniors

“did you fall asleep here during the show?”

he still seemed lost as he stared at you

you held back a laugh because he honestly looked cute

until

WHaiT a minUte--

he seemed so familiar

“Oh. Woojin-ssi” you breathed out

he was still half asleep as he muttered back his answer saying no and a small ‘yeah’?

but the only reason why you knew him is because despite being a first year, he was in nearly every special performance from the school’s hiphop dance club

and he kinda

chingaling-linged a little bit into your attention

but you never really had /that/ kind of crush on him

nearly everyone in the school knew him actually

but yeah, it was because of dance

because he literally grabbed all the attention during the last school fair performance and as much as the song was get ugly, every single student who performed were all gorgeous

it was unfair

“what time is it? is dinner over?” he asked in a completely groggy voice

and you were

you didn’t expect that voice to come out of that face

but it suits him

“yeah. weren’t you able to eat and--” as you glanced down on your phone

your eyes widened

it was exactly 11pm

and as if on cue, the lights changed into dimmer ones

and the click on the huge ass doors could be heard

don’t they clean up and check before locking up???

but then you remembered they did right after the show was done

“shit--” you hear him curse under his breath

you were both locked in

and aha, how convenient that there was no phone reception inside

plus the fact that earlier they had reminded everyone that the tight security cameras were being replaced so even if you wanted to wave and dance around infront of one,

guards were manually roaming around every three hours

“guess we’ll be stuck here for a while” he groaned making his way back to the seat and comfortably lay there

both of you aren’t even panicking

nor trying too hard

is this normal?

ya both stuck but you both don’t seem to care that much

“did you eat dinner?” you had asked, concerned ofcourse

there was no food and no water and dinner had been long over

“I already did. What about you?” he asked back politely

you’re both going to be together for a bit so might as well make conversation

instead of being awkward

“I did... but if you ate already... what were you doing here?” asking out of sheer curiosity

and he was sleeping too in there.....

“did you know this closes at 11?” you had added in, although you weren’t really scolding him

to you it felt like that abit

“yeah, I just wanted to be alone for a while but then I fell asleep” he answered non nonchalantly “what about you? why are you here?” he asked back looking at you

“I came to get this” you showed him the camera that was now slung around your neck

now the atmposhere turned kinda awkward as the conversation just seemed to have died down

you pursed your lips as you thought of something to say

or how to open up the conversation when he suddenly spoke

“aren’t you Sira noona’s friend?”

“uh.. yes... you know her?”

“oh well yeah we’re 2nd degree cousins”

and you were shOoktEth again for the 2nd time in less than two hours

“oh” was all you could say because you’ve known Sira since junior high and during the time as seniors, she never really mentioned knowing “the” park woojin

“she mentioned once you believe in aliens?” he didn’t sound as awkward as you did

infact, he sounded pretty chill

except that he sometimes sounded like he was stuttering but

it sounded cute

you don’t normally just spurt out how you believe in the universe’s other life forms

because as much as you could basically sound very informative

and honestly convincing

majority of people would just look at you like you were a nut job

you didn’t really care but sometimes

it was tiring being made fun of things you believed in

“uh well.. yeah.. I do” you answered back quietly

and to your surprise

you could see in the corner of your eye his lips tugging up into a bigger smile

“I always wanted to find a friend whom I could talk to about it!”

you didn’t expect him to be a believer

but somehow

you couldn’t wipe the smile off your face

and lets just say

time felt like it moved so quickly that, there was a hint of disappointment in your voice when you checked your phone and it was almost 1am

meaning

the guards would probably be coming over to finally find you

you should be happy

you were getting out and about to get proper sleep

but you’ve never met someone who greatly liked the universe as much as you did

and woojin too, he enjoyed your exchange of stories

the sightings, theories, how they helped people in the past and possible proof

in a span of a little over two hours

you felt like you found a really genuine friend you could share things with

he had also been so sympathetic over your experiences about basically being bullied for believing in something

and within the almost three hours

you both basically had shared each of our life stories

and when did you start believing in such

1:14 am, the digital clock on your phone read

you could see woojin hugging himself as the air grow a tad bit chillier

there was still no one coming through the doors

he was yawning already, trying to cover up the tiredness he felt from all of today’s activities

you had both been seated by the wall next to the door, as you waited

just when you were about to speak up, he beat you to it

“you know it’s not always I get to meet someone like you. I mean” stuttering over his words again as you chuckled at how cute he kept on sounding

“we really are into the same thing and... the chances of being locked up here with you” letting out a small laugh of his own

you could feel your heart picking up pace over his words

it was probably nothing, but still, they sounded nice

alittle too nice that you were thankful for the dim lights

because you felt your face heating up

“Want to take photos? I have a few more films in the camera. Might as well make it like a memorabilia” you blurted out, wanting to eat back the words

but his reaction made you freeze a little bit

his smile had grown so wide you couldn’t help but smile back

“really noona? I mean... well. It’s just that I wanted something to remind me of today”

“do you want me to take a photo of you?”

“oh... no. well, I was thinking more of a photo of us”

“whAt-”

you could see his features changing into a shy expression

“It doesn’t seem like it but I’m quite sentimental. I wanted to ask a photo together but my phone’s battery is still alive but barely breathing”

you were suddenly so unsure of what to say

you had grow incredibly shy over his words that words were completely failing you

“oh sure... here” was the only sentence you could force out as you gave him the polaroid cam. He had longer arms and would be able to take a photo of both of you better

you got conscious about how you looked all of a sudden

you had washed the make up off and you wanted to cover your face so badly

“one, two--”

then a sudden flash, you were just thankful that you were able to smile

the film slowly slipping out as woojin holds onto to it.

“should we take one more? a copy for me” you state, making him look at you like

???? !!!!!!

“I was going to ask you to send me a photo of this” he quietly said, although evident in his voice he would love having it to keep

“you can have it” you smiled, reaching out to pat his head

blushing again when you realize what you’ve done

drawing your hand back immediately but he didn’t seem to notice

“yeah lets take another one” the smile never leaving his lips as you both posed again for the camera

the second photo coming out nicer that the first, since you felt prettier and more ready in the second

you had been able to talk to woojin to trade

but also because you liked the first photo more since it had him infront

which showed more of his face

keeping it in his wallet, you couldn’t help but melt

you suddenly felt as if you’d been treasured

yeah sure close friends and family make you feel extremely loved but

ofcourse this felt a little more different

“Noona... I don’t want to sound demanding but... I was wondering if... I could snap a photo of you and keep it”

well

your heart just made a somersault

and it felt like his face landed face first on the ground

how could someone affect you like this in a matter of minutes

and as he tried to click, apparently there was no more film

he felt disappointment and so did you

“I have a few solo photos of me in the tent... maybe I could give you one”

his smile made you feel like the whole dim room was lighting up and you just loved it

“promise?” he asks holding out his pinky

it was childish but

super cute

“promise” you answer back wrapping your pinky around his

but what you didn’t expect was

him leaning in to kiss your hands

to seal the deal

and you just went

“I don’t think we’d be able to wait till 2am for someone” he had stated, rubbing his eyes as sleep had came back to him

you were starting to feel your eyelids dropping too

“come on noona, we can just sleep on the chairs” he stated, getting up first to help you afterwards

you liked how his hand felt in yours

you’ve dated before sure

had a lot of crushes but

maybe the fact that you were both interested immensely in something similar pulled you towards him

“goodnight noona” he whispers, seated next to you with arms around himself again

pushing the arms rests up, its not like you wanted to snuggle closer but the blanket felt a little small

he moved in a bit towards you when he felt you wrap him up, to share the cloth together

you wanted to look at him like a little brother but

“you can rest your head on my shoulder noona, it’s more comfortable”

the words he keep spurting out just really made him look more like a man than the boy he was

silence for a few minutes

1:30 am

it was just breathing between the two of you

your head on his shoulder

and his cheek resting on top of your head

“can’t sleep?” he mumbles again

“yeah”

“me too. but I feel really tired”

“same actually”

“noona”

“hmm?”

“I was wondering”

“what is it?”

“would it be okay if I got your number?”

“w-what” pressing your lips toegther as you tried to keep your wits intact

“well it’s because... like I said, I don’t get to meet someone like you alot. I wanted to keep in touch and...” his tone drifting away softly

you cold hear his feet shifting and shuffling on the floor

“and?”

“well I obviously want to keep intouch and maybe.... bring you to go stargazing”

that was surely an offer you couldn’t reject

I was supposed to finish this daaays ago. but I got busy sorry :c and wow this sht got long omfg

BONUS:

you’re both awoken at 4am by one of the janitors

good thing because students were going to be woken up at 6am

and if your teachers don’t find you in your tents

you were in a whole lot of trouble

you woke up with woojin’s head still ontop of yours

and both of you sharing the same blanket

him smiling down at you as he greets you a good morning

sadly needing to part ways to go back to your respective tents

but as you lay down inbetween your sleeping friends

your phone vibrates

“park woojin” it says on the screen

“noona. it’s woojin, don’t forget the photo okay? I’ll be looking forward to it later. sleep tight : )”

Weekly Voltron Fic Recs #36

Rules: You can find past weekly rec lists here, and non-list recs in my general fic rec tag. Also follow @maychorianrecs for individually tagged posts, the easier to search and reblog. This is stuff I like, and I have a huge bias toward Lance, hurt/comfort, and general fluff, in that order. Gen unless otherwise noted. Please comment on the fics if you read and enjoy them!

The Hunter from the Hill by valkyriered Words: 5,741 (3/?) Author’s Summary: Post-series, the Holts welcome Shiro into their home. A series of ficlets crossposted from tumblr. Not necessarily in chronological order– posted in the order they were written. My Comments: Warning for heavy angst, depression, PTSD, and various anxiety responses to trauma. This is realistic and very well-written, but mind the tags. I love the idea of the Holts taking in Shiro post-series and caring for him, but everyone is having a very rough time. The fic is technically complete, as each chapter is its own story, but the author is leaving it open to add more in the future. I adore these aftermath stories. Exactly the kind of stuff I want to read.

Space Hell by firesfly Words: 5,008 Author’s Summary: “I wonder if there’s such thing as space-hell,” Lance mused. “Like, the higher you go into space, the closer you are to hell.“ or. The paladins find Space Hell and it’s just as bad as it sounds. My Comments: Really interesting episode-like fic with the paladins fighting a horrible environment, plus some monsters. It’s up to Keith to save them all, and it’s a rough road.

Cookies, candles and some care by SerenePhenix Words: 3,603 Author’s Summary: It had to come full circle. That was the way things worked. That’s what made the world go round. Shiro’s just glad that Lance is there to help. -OR: After Lance it’s now everybody else’s turn to get the sniffles. My Comments: A follow-up to that modern AU sickfic where deathly ill pizza boy Lance stumbles onto the other paladins, who instantly take him under their wing. This time everyone else is sick and Lance is the best nurse ever. So sweet.

Dear Little One by SunshineAndRainbows Words: 3,986 (2/3) Author’s Summary: The paladins hadn’t been expecting to find the baby. Allura hadn’t been expecting their reaction to it. My Comments: The paladins with kids or babies is always adorable, and this one is particularly so. Very interesting worldbuilding here, too, more plot-oriented than most kidfics. I’m interested to see how it will shake out.

Perdu by SerenePhenix Words: 7,130 (1/3) Author’s Summary: He did everything they’d asked of him. He had fought a war that had not been his to begin with because it was the right thing to do, because at the end of it all stood the promise of returning to his family. He was done. He wanted home. What he did not expect was for a man obviously just as lonely as him to join him on the journey. A man willing to listen, willing to understand.So many possible realities and so many ways that it could go wrong. Or maybe just right. My Comments: Really interesting fic with Lance leaving Team Voltron after Shiro’s loss makes them all a little crazy, then running into Lotor and traveling with him without realizing that they’re supposed to be enemies. I’m not sure what’s coming next, and I am both nervous and excited. Really well done and heartachey.

Black by Any Other Color by mckinlily Words: 4,430 Author’s Summary: Team Voltron is in shambles. Lost and hurting in the wake of Shiro’s disappearance, they can hardly stand each other, let alone work together. And in the midst of this, Hunk finds Keith in the Black Lion’s hangar.Hunk learns something about Keith, leadership, and his role as the Yellow Paladin. My Comments: I love Hunk as the heart of the team, chasing down hurting teammates and doing his best to bring them in and show them some love. Keith desperately needs support here. They all do.

Takashi Shirogane Takes the World by EdgarAllenPoet Words: 4,384 (2/?) Author’s Summary: Shiro has seen more foster homes than he has years on Earth, but he’s certain that this one is the last. He’s fiesty, angry, and thinks he can handle anything. That’s until he meets his new foster parents, with their never ending patience and understanding; his foster brother, with his bizarre habits; and the ghost of a boy who lives in his room, who turns into his best friend. He’s not ready for anything, but especially not a new family. My Comments: Family AU in which the Holts take in Shiro and Keith, based The Great Gilly Hopkins. I haven’t seen or read that one, but already this AU is tugging at my heartstrings and making me eager for more. Great stuff, very well-written.

Allura and the Paladins by rebornlover Words: 3,096 Author’s Summary: The Paladins learn abit more about their commander and Hunk holds an Altean celebration My Comments: Really sweet fic with Hunk and Lance making an effort to understand Allura better, and then attempting to ease her and Coran’s grief for the loss of their civilization.

Advanced Maintenance by VelkynKarma Words: 1,392 (1/?) Author’s Summary: Maintaining an alien prosthetic limb can be difficult even with help from your friends. Fortunately, Shiro’s able to get a little extra assistance from a few unexpected places. My Comments: Poor Shiro, but I’m so glad the mice were there to help! Very cute and fluffy fic. And there will be more in the future! I’m looking forward to it.

Recoil/Release by Cheshyr Words: 20,696 Author’s Summary: When Keith is bitten by an alien creature with venom that causes your dominant emotions to be amplified, the team is ready for a day of dealing with an incredibly angry paladin.Which means they’re not ready at all for what actually happens. My Comments: Warning for implications of past child abuse. This is heartbreaking, but so well done. I loved the way everyone got a moment to interact with Keith while he was in a fear-driven state and try to help, even if it wasn’t quite successful in the end. They all just care so much.

Platonic VLD Week 2 - Double Drabble Collection by hufflepirate Words: 1400 Author’s Summary: 7 double drabbles from the second Platonic VLD Week.See chapter titles for basic details like which characters are in/the focus of each one.Prompts: Day 1: Restraint / Impulse Day 2: Traditions / New experiences Day 3: Tandem / Separation Day 4: Home / Exploration Day 5: Temporary / Constant Day 6: Fighting / Forgiveness Day 7: Free tropes day / Week 1 leftovers My Comments: Absolutely every single one of these is perfect in just 200 words. Hufflepirate writes very powerfully in a very small space. I think my favorite was the Coran one, but they’re all amazing.

Seventh Wheeling by Swump (Zelan) Words: 952 Author’s Summary: So I see lots of fics where Lance refers to himself as a seventh wheel and I’m actually getting a bit tired of the phrase. So of course what better to do than write a prompt entirely centered around it. My Comments: Shiro does a really lovely job of reframing this issue for Lance and helping him see himself in a different light. Really sweet.

Accidents Happen by EdgarAllenPoet Words: 2,169 Author’s Summary: “ ‘He’s grown!’ Antok cheered, leaping to his feet as if his previously sore joints had been entirely renewed. He scooped Keith up effortly, one massive hand around his middle, and tossed him up into the air. Keith screamed. Antok laughed with glee. ” My Comments: Keith temporarily morphs to a Galra form, and Antok is DELIGHTED. It’s adorable.

Forgiveness by luoup (ravenic) Words: 1,698 Author’s Summary: Day 6 Prompt 2: ForgivenessHow to be forgiven My Comments: Finding Matt isn’t as happy for Shiro as it should be, because he’s so worried about how Matt will react to what he did. Of course, Matt doesn’t see it that way.

Only Temporary by Revasnaslan Words: 1,241 Author’s Summary: Following Shiro’s disappearance, Allura finds it difficult to sleep… so she and the Black Lion have a chat. About as well as they can without having a bond.—Written for Shallura Week Day 6 (Black / White) My Comments: Lovely bonding moment. Allura deserves all the appreciation.

And The View Will Be Different Tomorrow by this_book_has_been_loved Words: 1,882 Author’s Summary: Pidge had an uncanny ability to find each and every nook and cranny and hiding place on the Castle. There were more secret rooms on this ship than even Allura and Coran probably knew of, and Lance was sure Pidge had discovered them all. - Pidge and Lance have a heart to heart and do some stargazing. My Comments: Absolutely precious. I love these two hanging out and bonding and sharing their grief about their families.

Dogs of Marmora by EdgarAllenPoet Words: 3,517 Author’s Summary: ’What is that thing and why is it in my castle?’ Allura asked. None of the paladins replied. Kolivan offered her a helpless shrug.‘It’s a dog.’ “ My Comments: The cutest, sweetest Dads of Marmora fic yet. The paladins explain to Kolivan why having a dog is a good thing, and then he gets to see it with his own eyes. Adorable.

A Space Birthday! by icycoldmoonprincess for gardenofmaris Words: 2,320 Author’s Summary: It’s just too good that one of my dearest friends and Lance share a birthday month….not to mention how much like Lance she is…..Happy Birthday, Mari! Hope you enjoy the fic :) (Since I gave you a birthday present super early, I just had to do something for today) My Comments: Super cute fic with everyone pitching in to give Lance a nice time. Very pleasant read.

The Peace of Order by Katerie Words: 1,402 Author’s Summary: Lance starts to see why Zarkon’s been allowed to rule for over 10,000 years. My Comments: Lance has an argument with an alien and realizes that some moral quandaries cannot be resolved. Really interesting to read.

Heroism Gets You Killed by teacupfulofbrains Words: 15,428 Author’s Summary: Five times Lance McClain recklessly risked his life to prove his worth to his teammates, and one time they showed him he had nothing to prove. My Comments: Maybe just a little over the top, but man, I really enjoyed this fic. Lance’s team loves him. A lot. It’s his own head that’s preventing him from seeing that. Klance is included, but the focus is on the team.

Accidents Happen by Swump (Zelan) Words: 3,198 Author’s Summary: don’t go on tumblr too much or you’ll write i&i fic for a show you’ve never seen Real Summary: Keith gets something in his eye and then he gets something worse in his eye. Whump ensues. My Comments: Poor Keith, but it was great to see everyone leap into action to help him.

Tasting Science by Anonymous for Longpig Words: 1,470 Author’s Summary: Coran discovers something while preparing a dinner for his new family. My Comments: Really cute fic with Coran enjoying a treat from Earth, then sharing it with everyone else.

trust fall by prophecy Words: 1,574 Author’s Summary: The story of how Allura got her earrings. My Comments: Love litte Allura being stubborn and nosy. Her relationship with Alfor was so lovely, too.

Treat by Eastofthemoon Words: 1,690 Author’s Summary: Keith takes Shiro grocery shopping. My Comments: This is from a really cute AU where pre-teen Keith ends up on the run through the universe with Shiro and the red lion. This installment is adorable, as usual. It’s sad that Keith has had to focus so hard on survival at such a young age, but it’s lovely to see Shiro spoil him.

It’s About You (it always has been) by Yellowtaffeta Words: 11,562 Author’s Summary: For thousands of turns the Prides have defended ARUS from the baleful eye of the dark star. It is now the ninth pass and the lion men have dwindled. Only Pride Garrison is left to face the coming sweep of the rouge planet. Not that anyone thinks the dark star more than a legend after such a long interval. But the Galra are coming. It is up to four newly impressed rookies and a Paladin with the wrong lion to face the coming disaster. Lions must fly when there’s Galra in the sky! My Comments: I’ve never read the series this AU is based on, but now I want to. The author does a good job of giving enough worldbuilding for the story to make sense, even while just throwing us straight into the middle of an extremely crazy and chaotic sceen. All of the paladins and their lions are very intriguing, and their interactions are well done. This feels like the start of a very epic adventure, and I would happily read more. The fic could definitely use a beta, though.

Quit Playing Games by BossToaster (ChaoticReactions) Words: 3,116 Author’s Summary: Lance makes a deck of Uno cards. It goes as well as expected. For Platonic Week 2.0 My Comments: This is one of the funniest fics I’ve read in the long time. The chaos and petty revenge of a Uno game is out in full force. It’s great to see the kids just having a good time together, for a certain value of good.

The Field of Blood by Genesister (papirini) Words: 4,607 (1/?) Author’s Summary: Takashi Shirogane is about to go on a journey to find himself. A journey where, supported by his friends, he learns a secret so shocking that it could potentially decide the fate of the universe - and, along the way, he comes to understand what it means to be a leader. What it means to be himself. Well. Provided the experience doesn’t kill him first. Or worse. The final part of the Helvicta Blues. My Comments: I’ve already recced the other stories in this series, but I would be remiss not to inform you of this one, too. The start is already so INTENSE, with all of the paladins captured by the Galra, under threat of death and torture, and then that first cliffhangar, hoo boy. I do recommend reading the other stories first, but this is so so good.

Bonding with the Princess by TheForeverGirl Words: 6,201 (3/?) Author’s Summary: Allura feels that she doesn’t know the Paladins as well as she should. Her solution? She bonds with each of the paladins My Comments: This fic could use a beta, but it’s really cute to see Allura deliberately taking the time to get to know her paladins one-on-one. Great characterization and lovely chats for each so far.
