The reports of no one having seen the owner of the house in a while were all they had to go off of. Surely it was just an average wellness check: after all, the occupants were reported to be very reclusive from the start, so this was nothing particularly unusual. The residence was quiet, almost eerily so, and when they started to look around to notice there were no signs of anyone entering or exiting they knew something had to have happened.

As soon as they broke into the place, the familiar yet absolutely foul odors hit them all at once. Decay, mold, waste, all mixing together into a cocktail that could only mean it was already way past the window of time where something could possibly be done. The team stares at each other, resignation and understanding plastered on their faces. This simple wellness check had just turned into a body retrieval mission.

They find the source of the smell in the main living room. A badly decomposing body, sitting calmly in a recliner. TV still on. The animal was chained to the foot of the furniture. Unable to free itself from the chains, they assumed it must have naturally starved to death. What could have gone through its brain, realizing it was trapped and no one was coming for it? Would it have been intelligent enough to despair?

They call in for reinforcements with body bags and biological waste disposal. It isn't until they cut the chain and examine the animal more closely that someone notices the weak rising and falling of its emaciated ribs. The medic placed their finger underneath the creature's nose and much to his complete shock, it was still breathing. Somehow, through sheer luck, they must have made it just in the nick of time.

"Bring a stretcher over here! It's alive!"

Ah, Possession AU

Info under the cut!

This AU consists of Louis Reed’s and @wings-of-scarlet-light ‘s character Michelle Theryn’s backstories being swapped, causing them to have different monster forms than their original counterparts.

In this AU, Michelle was captured by Maxwell, and had what was done to Louis done to her instead. She became the 3-armed demon who’s transformation is linked to her memory of that event. On the other hand, Louis found and kept the “supposedly cursed deer skull”, and is now possessed by the deer demon Xivalla, which twists his form whenever it takes control.

Extra little info

The reason it’s called “Possession AU” is because’ Louis is possessed by a demon instead of being a demon himself

Due to the nature of Maxwell’s demon-making program, the person it’s done to’s height greatly increases. Louis is only 5′11″ in this au when he’s normally 7′3″, and Michelle is instead 6′2″ instead of her normal 5′6″

Michelle’s demon form is slightly inspired by the Witch from L4D. Credit to creator of Michelle for that suggestion

This AU is having it’s one year (and one day) anniversary today, as on January 15th 2021, I drew the first draft of Louis’ Xivalla-possesed form

Here's the reference for Runt's humanoid form. His design is very strange to me but still enjoyable at the same time.

He takes this form whenever people or humans would seemingly be more scared of him as a wolf. He doesn't remove his wolf features, however. Instead, you are greeted by the abnormally tall, wraith thin, mix between what would make a man and a beast. A form that exists only with the intention to mock the idea that looking "more human" would be less scary.

Fun little fact that's semi-related: Depending on their upbringing and personality, a nightmare wolf's appearance leans towards a specific trait that will then be exaggerated. Runt's status as the "runt" of the litter is the reason he takes the forms of something emaciated whenever he shapeshifts. Compared to his siblings, he is the smallest and the weakest, and thus ate the least.
