Beorn was an interesting man. A tall, gruff Skin-Changer who was more gentle to animals than most. You got to witness his affections toward his animal friends in more depth than your previous companions would.

You were in Thorin Oakenshield's company for a time, having joined the same time as Bilbo did from your own, private, circumstances. The Hobbit had been a wonderful roommate, kind from making you food to tending your goose eggs when you'd whack your head on his too-short ceiling. Even protecting you as best he could from those nasty goblins, same as the rest of the company.

But luck would not be on your side in that faithful battle. A sword slashing through your poorly-fitting armor, an arrow in a leg and a crack to the skull left you too injured to join them on the rest of their journey. You tried your best to fight with Thorin, but even Bilbo knew you would be even more of a liability than he was at this point in time.

Once the eagles dropped you off and you were carried to the next stop in the journey, you knew that it would be your last. Gandalf had managed to convince the Skin-Changer to, at least, let you recover before trying to send you on your way. Splintered bones and pierced flesh took time to heal, however.

Beorn was more than a gracious host, going as far as to hand feed you the first week and a half where you were too weak to do it yourself. Face too swollen to chew anything more than softened bread and honey and eyes unable to even see the fork you'd need for anything else. Hands trembling too harshly to allow you to lift one of his already massive cups. Massive for you, at least, since Beorn was a massive man as is.

When he couldn't be with you- be it tending to his bees or being gone throughout the night as a bear- his animal companions kept you company. Dogs would fetch things and a very kind sheep let you use her wooly body as a pillow. Ponies knelt down to let you grab on so you could hobble your way to a prepared bath. His animals were just as kind as he was. Thankfully, not as gruff.

One night, your wrappings needed changing. Thankfully, the blood and puss had stopped, but you were still sweating through them like crazy. The tender skin of your cut torso made it near impossible to change without pain. You tried to keep quiet, and usually it worked, but tonight it was near unbearable. Your animal friends had left you alone for the night, as they always did on nights like this. No wool to muffle the noise and no fur to pet to calm you down.

Without knocking, the door to your little guest room swung open. Hastily, you moved to cover yourself as Beorn's shadow fell over you. Even in the low candlelight, his eyes shone brightly and bore into your own.

Without breaking his gaze from yours, he made his way over to you. Neither of you spoke as he dropped himself next to you. Gently, he took the bandages from your trembling fingers. He pulled the blanket away, and you felt your cheeks flush slightly with a flustered heat.

Slowly, he began to wrap your bandages for you. A gentle nudge to lift an arm or tilt forward was all it took to get his point across.

"I have heard your struggles more often than you think, little rabbit," he murmured. You averted your eyes with a small sigh. You guess you weren't as good as hiding it as you thought.

"Rabbit, huh?" You couldn't help but ask. Beorn had called Bilbo that a time or two as well, but with you the nickname felt more… intimate. He hummed, smoothing the bandages before sliding a hand down your back. You couldn't help but jolt slightly.

"Jittery. Jumpy. Like an injured rabbit, trapped with a bear." There was something in his voice as he spoke. A hunger that made a lump grow in your throat. You forced yourself to look up at him.

"Trapped? Does the bear plan to actually harm me, when I can't defend myself? Have his fill of me?" Beorn let out a grunt in response. A large hand slid up your back again, carefully turning you more toward him. His free hand went up an arm. A shoulder. A cheek.

"Harm? I do not think I would have it in me. Have my fill, however…" He tilted your head up further, leaning down toward you. Your eyes trailed down his face, before flicking back up to meet his own.

"Only if the little, injured rabbit would put their trust in me." His voice was low in your ears, barely above a whisper. He held you in such a way that you knew you could escape his hands if you wished, even with your minimal ability to move. The way he held you was intoxicating, however. Just as his scent and his warmth was.

"Hard not to, after you've taken such good care of me," you replied, leaning forward to meet him. He hummed out a noise so deep it was almost a growl, capturing your lips in a heated kiss.

To say there had been no tension between you two would have been a lie. The way he had fed you had gotten softer. The way he had tended your wounds had gotten much more intimate. A few times you needed help bathing, and even you couldn't miss the way his eyes swept over your body. A darkness to his eyes that gave away every thought he had. You had ignored it, just in case you were reading the wrong signals.

Now that he had your head tilted back, hands on your face and tongue in your mouth, you cursed yourself for being willfully oblivious. You held onto his wrists, feeling yourself become hazy from the smell of honey that seemed to follow him everywhere.

He finally pulled himself from you, helping you tilt back to lay against the pillows. You both knew there wouldn't be much for you in the way of moving. He hardly seemed to care, however, as he took the time to ease your too-large pants down your legs. You hissed as your injured leg was moved, but he simply muttered something in a language you didn't recognize- not that you recognized many languages here, besides the common tongue. It sounded like an apology, however, if the way his thumb grazed the recently-wrapped bandages around your thigh were any indication of his intent.

His lips returned to yours, only for a moment, before they trailed down your jaw. You melted against him and the bed, leaning your head to the side so he could do as he pleased. "Doing as he pleased" led to him nipping and sucking on your neck in hopes of leaving marks.

One of his hands trailed down, sliding along your skin and faintly dragging his nails to make you shiver. It settled between your legs, nudging your thighs open. You reached up, an arm going around one of his shoulders to card your fingers through his hair. He let out a pleased noise against your neck.

You wanted to reach over with the other hand, but the moment it tried crossing over your chest you sucked in a painful gasp of air. Immediately, one of Beorn's hands grasped your own. He set it back in its place carefully, rising from your neck. A stern, but gentle, look in his eye.

"Your injuries do not heal just for this," he said, "let me take care of you as I have been." You grumbled slightly, feeling a heat in your face at his commanding tone. You nodded, however, and Beorn smiled slightly.

To distract you, he brought himself back in for a kiss- more rough and ever so slightly desperate compared to the others. The hand between your legs finally sprang to life, pressing and rubbing against you in a way that made your hips jerk. You couldn't help the small moan that escaped you as your body relaxed further.

Slowly, he left you to remove his own clothes. Not that it took long- his clothes were large and loose, made to remove quickly should he need to change. You were thankful for that as he hurriedly returned to your side.

His hand returned, and you knew this time it was in preparation for the next step. He was a massive man, and he needed you as relaxed and open as possible. After all of this, hurting you was the farthest thing from his mind.

You couldn't help but groan as his fingers slipped inside. Your hips arched and your head dropped back. He moved slowly, deliberately, in a way that would get you to loosen up for him. Your hips rolled in response, trying to get more from him.

Unable to stop himself from much longer, he removed his fingers once again. You whined, only getting a chuckle from him as he got between your legs. He slid his length against you, drawing a shudder and a breathless moan from you. Beorn, himself, let out another low growl at the feel of you.

"Been a long time since I've felt this," he grunted as he pushed in slowly. Your breath hitched at the sensation. He growled, deep and animalistic, as he thrusted into you.

He hauled your hips up- careful of your injuries- and your uninjured leg hooked around his waist. He slid a hefty pillow underneath your weak leg, keeping it elevated so it wouldn't be too uncomfortable. Your hands found his face and pulled him back down for a searing kiss. He held you so sweetly, so securely, you couldn't help but melt against him. Never had anyone treated you so carefully- like you were ready to break. It was just as intoxicating as the honey and cream he'd fed you over your time here.

His mouth found your neck again, hips settling into a nice rhythm as he left new marks on your skin. You felt his sharp teeth scrape and drag along your throat. Such trust you had in the bear, to let his jaws near your neck. Not that he had given you any reason not to trust him.

"Beorn," you murmured in his ear, voice pleading. He let out a low hum, before speeding up. His fingers dug into the meat of your hips, claws pricking your skin delightfully. You gripped onto him as his eager lips moved upward again. He moaned, low and heavy, into your mouth. You couldn't stop the whimper in return.

One of his arms moved, going around your back to cradle you against his strong chest. You whined loudly as you arched up against him. You felt yourself ready to snap, like a coil wound too tight. If his moans and growls were any indication, he felt the same.

You let one of your hands wander down between your legs. You moaned, matching his pace with your hand. He snarled out, latching onto your shoulder with his sharp teeth. You knew you would be bleeding, but neither of you cared in the moment.

You finally snapped, gasping out as you came around him. His growl traveled through your trembling body. He fucked you through it, causing you to cry out in overwhelming pleasure.

He let go of your shoulder as he reared his head back. He moaned, loud and long, as he dragged you as close as possible. He breathed hard, bucking and grinding up into you, as he rode out his own orgasm. Beorn held you suffocatingly close, the heat from him surrounding you completely.

Slowly, you both began to calm down. He panted into your neck, careful not to put too much weight on your upper body. He carefully removed himself from you, settling you back on the bed and pillows. He stood, grabbing a clean cloth and medicine to clean you and dress your newest wound.

"Apologies," he said as he cleaned the new blood from your shoulder. You hissed slightly at the sting, but smiled anyway.

"Can't say I'm upset at having the mark of the bear on me," you teased. His hands stilled for a moment, and you saw him swallow thickly. He made quick work of your wound afterward.

Once you were cleaned, he edged himself under the blankets next to you. His large arms gathered you up, pulling you toward him. You shifted, grunting slightly as you attempted to get comfortable.

"… Stay. With me," he muttered against your temple. You froze for a moment, before looking up at him. You were stunned. He brushed your hair back.

"You have only the Hobbit to return to, do you not? He is a fine fellow, but… you do not care for him as I've seen you do for me." He turned slightly, helping you lay against him better. You chewed on your lip in thought.

It was true. Before the Company, all you had was Bilbo and Bag End. After the Company, you had him, the Dwarves, and Gandalf. Now… You had Beorn. The man who had nursed you to health while your companions traveled on.

You didn't blame them for leaving- okay, maybe a little. You knew Thorin's quest was important, however, so you tried not to let it cloud your judgement of them. But Thorin wasn't the one that hand fed you after your jaws and eyes had swollen nearly shut. Bilbo wasn't the one that took the time to bathe you when you couldn't move. None of them were here to hold you.

"… I've never really taken care of a homestead before," you joked. Beorn couldn't help but laugh, a small shake of his head joining the sound. He got comfortable with you, rubbing a hand up and down your back.

"I can teach you, once you are healed. Now rest." he reached over, blowing out the candle and allowing the moonlight to keep the room lit. He pulled the blanket more securely around you- not that you needed it, since the Skin-Changer was so warm you figured you'd wake up sweating later.

You threw an arm around him, a teddy bear of pure muscle to hold throughout the night. You knew you were safe with him, and drifted off to sleep fast. Usual nightmares of goblins and orcs replaced by sweet dreams of bears and bees and wildflowers. For the first time in a while, you slept peacefully. And for that, you'd be grateful.

So a while ago I saw something where there was a headcanon about how Zdinarsk chews gum as a way to calm herself down? And how she's an emotional eater, I actually love this one and credits to @roxynmae & @fictionsonmymind for this since they're like 10000% responsible for it.

Here's an Idea! How about with her being an emotional eater she eats what she feels y'know? Maybe a sad food for her could be like something soft or simple to eat. Like soup or oatmeal, something like that!

I looked this up afterward and look-

Maybe a food for when she's angry could be maybe a hot food, not steaming but not warm either.

Maybe she chews her gum hard sometimes when she can't get to crunchy or tough foods,

Z being an emotional eater suits her, and her liking sweet things is cool too. She most likely chews her gum so that way she has a way to calm herself and maybe something to keep her busy.

Also, her having anxiety could be a possibility, maybe she gets jittery so chewing gum maybe overwhelms the feeling that she has to move around.

I can relate because when taking my state test or whatever It's called I couldn't stay still when sitting down for nearly 4-5 hours. Sure most wouldn't like that but trust me the person behind me was probably so p!ssed with me moving every 5 seconds lmao.

This one is confirmed completely so this is canon!

Zdinarsk has many colorful tattoos on her arms, neck, and chest. They include:

A chimera on her neck.

An eagle on her back with the Latin motto "AUT VINCERE AUT MORI" which means "conquer or die". It also has the number 33 which is known as an "angel number" that calls for people to cleanse their life and mind of negativity.

Her right arm has a skeleton reaper on the bottom and an angel on the top.

Her left arm has a snake wrapped around a skull with "DEATHLESS" on it. The bottom portion is the most difficult to interpret as it looks very Hindu in nature with many strange symbols.

CONCEPT DESIGN

On the ATWOW fandom website on Zdinarsks page there is an art gallery of her character design

There is also another concept design, I believe It was called the art of avatar book.

Ok so from the OG design of Zdinarsk, her tattoos didn't change, but something very noticeable is that

She has cargo military pants but In her approved design she has shorts instead. She acuatually changed pants 3 times in the movie, when she is first seen you can see her in the mirror when Quaritch first wakes up she has on the same pants as everyone else, it has Project Phoneix on the side but shortened to Phnx I think.

Also with this design she has a hat, sunglasses, I LOVE how her sunglasses sit on top of her hat it's so cute.

In the second concept design photo her shirt is shorter than the first concept photo and her official design,

she has on gloves as well, And for some who didn't know Walker has gloves attached to her pants as equipment, cute detail right?

In the trivia section of her page, It says that James Cameron asked for her to look like this!

So there it is! Zdinarks hair is a mohawk!! I never minded her hair but something to know Is that the Na'vi DO NOT have those fades you have when getting a buzz cute or etc, but Quaritch does?

ANGER ISSUES

So It was silently agreed that Zdinarsk had anger issues, but when she is angry she will never take it out on people purposely. I'd like to imagine that when Quaritch started swinging after he woke up Z was worried about him. The conversation:

A mini side-note is when Quaritch goes to punch his ikran, when he fell Spider, Lyle, Alexzander (or brown), & Zdinarsk were the first to run to the edge of the cliff

If Z was ever In this situation I feel like depending on who the person was or how she felt about them she would either be p!ssed off and be like "Whatever btch" and just push that person away. Or she would maybe be sad about how the person becomes different and she gets sad.

Zdinarsk would completely understand, she would maybe still ask If you two could be friends though or check up on the person. BUT If you are being difficult she won't care.

Dezi Lore!! Done on mobile, bear with me!

Dezi - She/They

Old World Ghoul, aged approx. 227

Dezi grew up in the OKC metro area, though they refuse to go into specifics on their background, including their given name. They ran away when they were still a teenager. Luckily, they found their way to the Rainbow Garden when they were fourteen, having heard about it while bouncing around homeless camps in the city. And, boy, when I say lucky, I mean it. A young teen on the streets of a post-recession Oklahoma was very dangerous. They had their fair share of scares and close calls before making it to Arcadia with the help of some hitchhiking. When Dezi made it to Rainbow Gardenz, Jolene took the kid in, gave them food and shelter.

Russ was living there on and off at the time, eighteen at the time, and assisted Kenny in educating Dezi to the best of their ability. They weren't teachers, by any means, but they worked with that they had. Dezi learned how to help care for the animals on the property, goats, chickens, barn cats, and a dog. They took an immediate shine to the animals, and it was nigh impossible to miss how much living surrounded by nature helped them. They came out of their shell before long. Dezi called the Garden's residents "uncle" and "auntie" often, though Jolene had the coveted title of "mamma" from the teen.

Dezi learned more about politics as they grew, unsurprisingly, most interested in environmental issues. From ages sixteen to eighteen, they were engaging in protests with some of her Auntie Gray and other friends of the Garden. When Dezi turned eighteen, however, they took on their biggest challenge.

A public park, previously funded by the city, was to be turned into a Chinese internment camp by the US government. Protests lasted for weeks, with the gov refusing to give way. As the protester numbers began to dwindle, Dezi decided they'd had enough. There was a champion tree in the park. While it wasn't the tallest in the world, it was among the tallest in the state. Dezi gathered up some gear and headed up into the tree, set on staying until the project was canceled. Jolene was not entirely on board with Dezi's plan but wasn't going to leave them on their own and ended up sending up supplies on a line when she could. All in all, Dezi was up there for two years. Eventually, the state governor set up another place for the camp to be built. By then, though, Dezi was exhausted and returned to the Rainbow Garden instead. They didn't attend protests for a year, allowing themselves time to recharge. However, during that year of rest, the war began and ended within a single day.

After the war, Dezi was relieved to see the people who had sheltered in the house had lived, including Jolene, Auntie Gray and her family, Russ, and Betty, as well as a few others. Kenny wasn't there, however. Due to that, Dezi stepped up and helped Jolene rebuild the best they could. Kenny returned by the time the illness had come around. Radiation sickness, brought in by the winds, had taken hold of the hippies in Rainbow Garden. The animals that had survived were suffering, too. Casualties began to spike, yet Dezi lived. Dezi had become a ghoul.

Dezi was relieved to see that wildlife had survived, as mutated as it was. They continued to care for the livestock. Their near-famlial bonds continued to hold true. As things settled on the surface, Dezi began to explore, finding their way to the dog food plant (gotta come up with a name) in the nearby suburb of Edmond. The place was overrun with dogs, but also had all sorts of odd equipment. This sparked a curiosity in Dezi and planted a few ideas in her head-- idead that quickly led a desire to learn a thing or two about science. They had Russ gather whatever surviving books he could during his outings to the city, and the older ghoul was happy to oblige, glad to see his little pupil eager to learn once more after the tragedies they had seen. When Snakebite joined their happy crew, they were able to vanish for longer periods of time and, with the help of the horses Snakebite wrangled in for them, was able to travel longer distances to other facilities.

Due to Dezi's severe lack of combat knowledge, however, they were not able to explore those locations themselves. Despite that, Dezi took note of the facilities and what they hoped they could learn there. They want to be able to allieviate the pain mutated animals must feel-- after all, two heads can't possibly be comfortable! Dezi isn't quite sure how they would do it. They know their goal is lofty and unlikely to come to pass. The animals will never be the same as they once were, anyway, but they still want to do research. After all, maybe someone, someday, could use their studies!

Until then, Dezi takes care of the animals at the house and the dogs at the factory. They also assist Kenny with making medicine, though they're still learning in that department, they're doing their best! They're good friends with the newer human folk that moved into the garden, as well as Melon the super mutant.

In a hypothetical game situation, the player would be able to help Dezi learn more about biology and chemistry, and as a result, gain access to the dogs in the factory as well as Dezi's trust and appreciation.

Extra:

Dezi spent their younger years on a reservation up until the courts decided that the state needed to have control over tribal land in order to gain more control over Oklahoma post-recession. It was sometime after that change that Dezi had been removed from their home and placed with some people with views far different from their own. Dezi was forced to change for a long time until they decided to finally run away.

Nukashine Blackout Challenge Attempt #2

Okay, let's try this again! Rowan puts his glasses back on and chugs another vintage Nukashine, and ends up...

Somewhere on a cliff, but this is in the forest region. Okay. Ah dangit I forgot to pick up the camera again, so it's screenshots.

This has all the earmarks of "what the hell did I do last night".

I pasted in the scavenger's text, which is: "I need some more... more of that Nukashine? Last time... it hit me harder than a train."

Which implies either the guy is old enough to know that about trains, or it's just become a meaningless figure of speech for most Wastelanders, but the point is, Rowan woke up with another drinkin' buddy! This is two for two!

It's probably really unsafe to get to the edge of the cliff, but Rowan does, and there's a farm or something below, but it's not on the HUD. Hm. There *is* a golf club up here, so at least Rowan has a weapon this time around.

Rowan really hasn't explored the entire map yet, and I'm trying to ignore the compass except for actual directions. Gotta go south, right? That's the important thing here.

Rowan keeps finding raider buddies while he's trying to find his way around, but they leave him alone and don't offer, like, a spare jacket or anything to cover himself. Maybe they recognize him as that weird raider with the glasses, and don't want to get involved.

Lots more wandering trying to go south, and where the heck is anything?? (also, Rowan was in a private world, so no finding someone's camp)

Whew! Rowan survived this time! As best I can tell, he started near the top of the map near Vault 51. That was a lot of walking to get to the Wayward, and he somehow completely bypassed Vault 76.

he's not too hard to deal with, but figuring out what's sneaky enough to put on the list is a chore of its own so going by yourself is less work anyway

answer him only with the word “bargains” and he’ll stop asking once he understands or gets annoyed

you don’t need to buy him a treat unless he finds a book he wants. then come on mc, you dragged him out here and you’re NOT gonna let him get this one thing??

thinks at first that it's kind of nifty that humans just dump all the things they need in one store but is quickly turned off from the novelty when he realizes how short the distance is between the clothes and the nearest package of raw chicken

even if the selection is small, he will want to spend time in the makeup department. probably goes on rants about how he can’t imagine this quality of product is good for your skin

will still buy nail polish though if you let him

overall? not terrible to have around, but make sure you don’t have anywhere to be in the next hour when you take him

you know how you should never go grocery shopping when you’re hungry? what were you thinking bringing Beel around??

another brother who’s good for reaching tall shelves if you need it

Beel also has this talent where he can just list off the ingredients you need if you happen to forget your list

if you want, you can distract him momentarily by just throwing out random dishes and he’ll get the ingredients right every time (even though they’re human dishes!!) but you’ll end up giving him like five different cravings by the time you leave

only take him if you want to speedrun grocery shopping, because he will start eating food you haven’t paid for if you take too long

bring extra money for that too, just in case he gets caught :(

bringing belphie to walmart isn't a matter of keeping him entertained moreso than keeping him awake

which you will inevitably fail to do

so even if you only need like three things, get him a cart and let him fall into the basket

he’ll try to stay awake (and he’ll give very self-satisfied grins to the people who stare at him ((and especially the ones who say “wow i wanna do that”))) but he can only fight off his sin for so long

stop by the blankets so he can stuff a few soft things in (bc he’s gotta be uncomfortable cramped in the little basket) and he’ll make himself a tiny nest

the good news is you can put anything on top of him and he won’t complain. just don’t drop any gallons of milk on him or anything that’ll wake him up

go to a self check-out so the employees don’t yell at you

after you put your groceries in your car, just dump his ass on the pavement. he’ll forgive you if you bought him the blankets.

Yandere! Wolf Hybrid! Naib Subedar (Mercenary) HCs (Parasite Skin)

- This took me a bit but let's talk about traits first!

- This hybrid Naib is a feral one.

- He's aggressive even when he doesn't mean to be, and is more wolf like than Wolf! Victor would be.

- He'll act more like a dog than a person, but he is capable of acting human.

- You would probably have to coax that part out of him, though.

- He has bluish skin and it looks like the gem in his shoulder is causing that.

- He's one hell of a hunter, too. He also likes to hang around temples with jewels and treasure, like a guardian.

- Perhaps, that's what he is?

- Onto Yandere traits!

- If we're going on the theory that he's some sort of supernatural guardian meant to protect treasure, you'll probably come to him.

- You may be an explorer or an assistant to one and come across a temple.

- Naib is already fixated on you, thinking you're going to be trouble.

- You'll stroll through the temple, being stalked by Naib as you go.

- He keeps his growls at a minimum, expecting to ambush you.

- Some way or another, all this watching you may cause him to let up. You don't seem to be too interested in the treasure and instead like the ancient feel of the temple.

- It's a deep blue with glowing cracks on the walls, it's like it wasn't made by humans.

- This is the place Naib calls home and you've stumbled upon it.

- You may not get out of here alive.

- Naib is a protective and possessive Yandere in this AU, as he is meant to be a guardian.

- It'll be a lot of observing for awhile before Naib decides to lock you in his temple.

- The stone door closes and locks you inside.

- If this Naib shows an interest in you, he's going to approach you cautiously.

- It's a slow stalk towards you, him in a defensive stance as he approaches you.

- His nose is twitching as he tries to decipher your scent, lips twitching upwards to show his fangs.

- It's like he's testing you, seeing if you're worthy of being in his presence.

- Soon, he's right in front of you, towering over your form.

- This hybrid is also huge, a solid 7-8 feet as he is meant to be big and strong.

- You are so small to him, he enjoys the size difference.

- After his tests, he decides he likes you enough to let you wander around the temple.

- You aren't leaving, however, as he still thinks it will be nice to keep you around.

- Once this hybrid likes you enough, you'll be allowed to give him affection.

- This is what draws him closer to you.

- He only knows how to guard and protect areas, he doesn't entirely understand affection.

- Once he gets used to it, expect him to be near you all the time.

- You are locked in this temple anyways, so there really is no escaping him.

- He'll curl his large body around you, ears back and tail wagging as he growls softly.

- He is fully capable of killing, if you came to the temple with someone they are already dead.

- He was trained to kill, after all.

- He craves your touch and isn't willing to share you with anyone.

- You're like one of the precious trinkets he protects, all his to be greedy over.

- He really is just a big dog around the one he cares for, though.

Yandere! Eagle Hybrid! Naib Subedar (Mercenary) HCs (Eagle's Dance Skin)

- Physical traits first as always!

- In this AU, Eagle! Hybrid Naib is a warrior.

- He's a professional warrior of the sky, agile and fast.

- He has similarities to an Eagle, keen eye sight, fast hunting skills, bird wings to soar.

- He can be a scary Yandere as this hybrid, an eagle that hunts for fun.

- Yandere traits!

- He'll stalk you from the trees, the bird hybrid growing curious.

- He wonders if you'll be good prey, so he follows you.

- He's fast, wings taking him from tree to tree.

- The more he watches you he realizes you're not prey, but still interesting to him.

- He is part human, so he is compatible with you sexually....

- This is when the warrior finds out he sees you as a possible mate.

- Cue the eagle hybrid trying to seduce you.

- He will dive down from the trees and tackle you, wings spread out wide as he sits on you.

- He decides you're his human and wraps himself around you to come to his nest.

- You're terrified, of course, but the eagle thinks you'll get used to it.

- He, a fearsome and powerful warrior, chose you to be his mate. You'll be in safe talons!

- It'll be a rocky relationship, the hybrid bringing you food and trinkets to woo you.

- Sticks, there are a ton of sticks you're given.

- Jewelry and flower crowns are also common gifts.

- Naib is constantly in his nest with you, wings at their full span as he spins around.

- He dances for you, getting frustrated that you aren't reacting positively to his advances.

- He'll coo to you, caging you in his wings and arms at night.

- He really tries to be a sweet mate to you, but he doesn't fully understand how to woo you.

- Would this Naib kill? He is a hunter after all so yes.

- Is he possessive? Very, you are his mate.

- He can't really speak English, but you can teach him.

- It's more of a collection of cooes and screeches he makes to communicate

- You are not allowed to leave the nest until he successfully gets you to comply to copulation....

- So you're going to be there for a long time.

Instead of being turn into a bird, Bradford Buzzard goes to trial for his crimes. The Judge and Jury surprises everyone with their decision.

Prologue - The Sentence

“Just send him to prison,” Mr. Jefferson said. “It’s that easy. Put him in a cell and he’ll be out of everyone’s hair.” Several members of the jury made a sound of agreement with the old dog, but others stay quiet. Including the judge.

Jones Jughead, an anger management counselor, raises his hand, “May I offer a different option?” The jury members and the judge turn to him. Jones puts his hand down, “how about we send him to the Duckburg’s Mental Hospital.”

“The mental hospital? Why do you think we should send him there?” Miss Walker, a history professor, asked.

“The hospital helps those who are mentally ill,” Jones explained. “And judging by Mr. Buzzard’s speech and behavior, he may be inhabiting some form of mental illness.”

“Duckburg’s Mental Hospital? The hospital that coddles lazy people?” Mr. Jefferson raised an eyebrow at Jones, “That vulture is more than lazy, Mr. Jughead. He is a danger to society and should be locked up forever.”

“Mr. Buzzard did sound scary when he made his speech about why he did what he did.” Miss Cameron, a college graduate, timidly said as she nervously looks around the room.

“Oh please, Duckburg faced worse,” A Miss Mutt said towards the duck woman. Unlike Miss Cameron, she was more vocal (more so than Mr. Jefferson) and was still a college student. “Look at Scrooge McDuck’s enemies. They’re scarier than vulture guy.”

“Especially that Magica lady,” Mr. Hound agrees with Miss Mutt. He works at a fast-food restaurant near a filming studio. “Like she’s done a lot of bad things from what I heard?”

“What do you mean?” Miss Cameron asked the older dog.

“Apparently, before coming to Duckburg, she would enslave villages and small towns,” Mr. Hound said. His voice starts to go creepy as he continues. “And when she gets bored, she’d just destroys the villages and towns. Killing almost everyone in them.” He gets closer to uncomfortable Miss Cameron. “Only few survive.”

“Mr. Hound please do not make this into a scary story,” Mrs. Roost spoke up. She and her husband own a flower shop near the Duckburg Park. “My mother’s family were victims of Magica. She treated them and others so poorly. They lost their homes because of her.” The hen woman put a hand close to her chest and looks down in sorrow, “only a few of them managed to survived.”

“Oh, sorry about that,” Mr. Hound said as look down in remorse.

“Well, guess it’s bad news for your family then. That lady got her magic back,” Miss Mutt said. She crosses her arms and looks at the judge, “why is Magica still around?”

“The only crime that Miss Spell committed - within Duckburg - was attacking Scrooge and his family.” Judge Jude answered. The old eagle fixes his glasses before continuing, “Scrooge decided not to press charges against her. ‘Too much paperwork’ he said.”

“You think Magica is bad? What about Glomgold?” Mrs. Jenkins glares at Miss Mutt. The pig woman puts a hand on her heart, “my poor Timmy was almost hurt by his canon-ferris-wheel thing!”

“I’m pretty sure there were other kids that was on the ferris wheel?” Mr. Feathertails, a fisherman duck, said. “’Sides, didn’t that moon lady save the day or something?”

“The day wouldn’t need to be saved if that Glom-terrorist hadn’t tried another one of his schemes!” Mrs. Jenkins shouted. The pig mother turns to the judge, “Why is he still around?”

“He’s rich,” Judge Jude answered plainly.

“And what about the Beagle Boys?” Mr. Pork, a landlord, asked. “Me and my wife were victims of their bank heists. We nearly lost our business because of them.”

“To think those guys used to own the deed to Duckburg, hah!” Mr. Lopez, a bellhop seagull, joked. “How did they get that the deed again?”

“They stole the deed before Scrooge came along,” Miss Walker answered.

Miss Mutt looks at the old dog woman with confusion. “Wait if that’s the case, then how come they hadn’t been kicked out of Duckburg yet?” She asked.

“Oh, we’ve tried,” Miss Walker said. “But their hatred for Scrooge was so strong, we just gave up.”

“The police had arrested every single member of the Beagle Family in the past. Including Ma Beagle,” Mr. Jefferson said in irritation. “Yet, that family are still causing trouble for everyone.” The former policemen rub his forehead as he continues talking, “the police force have gotten sick and tired of dealing with them. I retired because of them.”

“Wow, and those guys sure have guts to come here wanting that vulture guy lock up,” Miss Mutt said with a mocking tone in her voice.

“And what about Scrooge McDuck?” Miss Seamew asked. Everyone in the room looked at the seagull woman in surprise. Out of all the jury members, she was the quietest. “He causes a lot of damage in the city.”

“But he pays back for it,” Mr. Feathertails said.

“And he’s cheap about it,” Miss Seamew said as she narrows her eyes at the fisherman. “My family’s bakery isn’t as good as it used to be. The walls are too thin, the floors are cracked, and my family can no longer afford a new furnace.”

“My customers stopped coming to the flower shop,” Mrs. Roost added. “They’re too afraid to get caught in one of McDuck’s adventures.” The hen woman looks down at the table somberly. “There’s less kids in the park nowadays too.”

“Yeah,” Mr. Hound butted in. “Mr. Mcduck shut down the Darkwing Duck film I worked on, and it was almost done too.” Clenching his fists in rage, he continues. “But then one of his stupid kids made it all about himself and ruined everything!”

“When that vine incident happened, some of my coworkers decided to quit. Saying they couldn’t handle the chaos anymore,” Mr. Lopez said with a frown. “For several months, I had to work double shift and the hotel is still a wreck.”

“Some of my friends had to move away because of his family’s adventures,” Miss Mutt said. The young dog woman looks at Judge Jude with a glare. “Why hasn’t he and his family – no wait. Don’t tell me.” The college student quickly held up her hands. Leaning back in her seat with arms crossed, Miss Mutt answered for the judge. “Because he’s Scrooge McDuck and he’s rich.”

As the jury continues their conversation, Jones decided to interject. “We’re getting off topic. As much as I am mad at Scrooge and his nephew for not paying for therapy session, we still need to talk about what to do with Mr. Buzzard.” The jury went quiet and listened to Jones. “I still suggest we send Mr. Buzzard to the Duckburg Mental Hospital.

“And I still say that hospital is a joke.” Mr. Jefferson said before being silenced when Judge Jude raised his hand.

Judge Jude looks at Jones with a questionable look. “Mr. Jughead, exactly how would this benefit our society?”

“Mr. Buzzard can be an inspiration to those with mental illness. To encourage those in need of mental help to seek professional help,” Jones explained. “Because as of right now, society do not fully understand mental illness and treats it as a joke or nonexistent.”

“Because it is a joke.”

“Mr. Jefferson please,” Judge Jones silenced Mr. Jefferson again before turning back towards Jones. “And exactly how long would this take?”

“Well sir, it would be disingenuous to put a time limit on.” Jones continues his explanation without missing a beat. “The thing about mental illness is that it varies between person to person. For Mr. Buzzard might take a while for him to fully understand what is wrong with him. And longer for him to deal with it.”

Jones look at rest of the jury, “the mental hospital is isolated for the sake of both the populace and the residence.” The counselor turns back to the judge. “Just give me timed with him. I’ll send reports of his progress and tell you when he’s ready to go back to civilization.”

The judge and the rest of the jury were quiet. Some agreed, but others were still uncertain. Well, until Miss Mutt opened her mouth. “You know, we get to decide that Mr. Buzzard’s punishment. Not Scrooge, his family, or his enemies.” Everyone in the jury room gave her a questionable look. The college student gives them a mischievous smile. “Wouldn’t it be nice to get back at them?”

“Why the blazes are they taking so long?” Scrooge said in annoyance. “How hard is it for them to make up their minds?”

“Maybe their deciding how long Bradford should be in jail?” Huey suggested.

“I’m pretty sure the obvious answer is forever?” Dewey said annoyed. “Urgh, I’m bored.”

“Be glad you’re not Bradford.” Louie said, pouting his thumb at the vulture. Who was sitting in front of Magica de Spell, Glomgold, and Ma Beagle.

“You’re lucky that I haven��t gotten my hands on you yet!” Magica said. She gives Bradford a look that could kill him on the spot.

“And you call yourself Scrooge’s Greatest Villain.” Ma Beagle said with a mocking tone. Her sons, at least the usual three she brings, snickered besides her.

“You’re not even wearing a kilt!” Glomgold said while pointing his finger at the vulture.

Bradford stayed quiet while the three villains continue threatening him. He was a dishevel, shaking mess. Scrooge look at him with a smile of satisfaction, “serves him right.”

Just then the doors of the jury room open, and Judge Jude and the jury reenters the court room. “Finally,” Dewey said in exasperation as he sat back up in his seat.

“Order, order in the room!” Judge Jude bangs his gavel. He gestures a hand at the jury for one of them to speak. “Jury, what is your verdict?”

Jones Jughead, Donald’s old anger management counselor, stood up from his seat. “We, the jury, pronounce Bradford Buzzard guilty for the crimes he committed.”

“We know that!” Magica yelled. She points at Bradford, “just tell us what this blasted man’s punishment is?” Several people in the courtroom shouted in agreement.

Judge Jude bangs his gavel once again. “Oder! Oder in the court!”

As the crowd settles down, Scrooge noticed something odd about the members of the jury. They were smiling with a certain glee that his villains would have when victory was within their grasp. And those smiles… Were directed at him.

The courtroom finally went silent. “Now then, if you would let me speak,” Judge Jude said firmly. He looks down at Bradford and signals the guards to get him. With the of exception for the jury, almost everyone was confused by this behavior. “Bradford Buzzard, I sentence you to the Duckburg’s Mental Hospital. You will remain there until Mr. Jughead decides when are ready to return to society.”

“This trial is now over.” That was the last thing Judge Jude said before the room exploded into chaos and the guards quickly escorted a confuse Bradford out of the room.

Ikevamp MC and Giving the Mansion Pets Treats

Yo so I have a quick Ikevamp idea, hear me out.

I'm a foodie, and there is a certain pleasure in giving pets a taste of my food. My cat, my bf's dogs, and my parents cats all follow me around the kitchen because THEY KNOW I will give them a piece as long as I know it won't kill them. Like how can I not when I feel bad they eat dry kibble all day

Anyways, MC arrives, loves animals, feeds them, blah blah. King, Vic, Lumiere, Brush, and any other house wandering pets begin to just sit and wait patiently in the kitchen. The owners aren't catching on and they're just like confused as to where their beloved pet could be.

One day Theo walks through the door like "oi, hondje, have you seen Ki-" and just sees his dog obediently begging for a snack. King looks nervously back and forth, conflicted. Master.. food... master.. food... food and eventually chooses the nice girl with treat. And MC is all smug like "good boy." Theo delivers his signature death glare but really he's storming off to go cry on Vincent's shoulder from the betrayal.

Theo is definitely going hard on the training later with King and maybe MC 🙃

Arthur pouts because his dog gets more attention than him.

Some days they hear MC talking to the pets, little coos and many positive encouragements. And other day's they hear words of frustration because Lumiere or Brush keep getting on the counter to try and steal whatever they can. More often than not she's probably tripped over Vic because he's standing directly behind her.

A water dish is left out so Brush can do his raccoon thing of washing his food before eating it.

MC discovers the food preference of each. Lumiere is picky about seafood. King loves sweets (like a certain someone) and MC goes out of her way to make a dog friendly cake. Vic is a little pompous and will not eat meat he deems is low grade. Brush... would literally eat out of the garbage if MC let him but most of the time he's just happy to be there.

The pets are actually disappointed when they go to the kitchen and find Sebastian. Sebastian likes to put on a front that it's not good to feed the pets, but everyone knows he sneaks in a couple of treats here and there, especially when the dogs walk out licking their chomps and MC is nowhere near the vicinity.

So there you have it, ya'll can do what you want with this thought. 😂 Also, I only included pets I felt were the domestic house wandering, like I said before. I figured you can't have a ferret, bird, cat, and eagle all in the same room without chaos so. But the excitement still applies when MC goes to visit those caged cuties.

Aussie Wildlife FAQ

So here's questions I'm frequently asked as both a wildlife rescuer and carer and keeper at a wildlife sanctuary. Heads up, this is a long post, I've made the questions stick out so you can easily skip through. I've tried to make it as easy to read as possible, and to find what you're after, whilst also providing lots of info.

Poison Vs Venom, what's the difference?

Well, mostly, poison just never stops killing. Like if you poison an insect, then a bird or small mammal eats that insect and they slowly get poisoned by all the poisoned insects they eat, then something eats them, like an owl, and that gets poisoned, then as it rots the poison goes into the environment, etc. Poison never dies. Venom has to be injected, so yes you can be envenomated by a dead animal, if you are stupid. Poison can be inhaled, eaten/drunk or even through touch. So if a cow is poisoned you have to dispose of the body safely, if a cow is bitten by a venomous snake, technically you can still have steak for dinner.

Are all Australian animals out to kill you?

Maybe.

They could want to kill us, I mean as a species we aren't that great. Their ability to kill us however is limited. So are all Aussie animals able to kill you? No. So we have lots of cute small mammals, like antechinus, dunnarts, pygmy possums and the like, that can bite and scratch but are very tiny bois. We even have lots of non-venomous snakes, pythons and blind snakes. Most lizards outside of Goannas can't cause too much damage. Echidna's are completely defensive, have no attack whatsoever. Lots of birds have no interest in you, unless you get near their nest. Freshwater Turtles, Little Penguins and Tawny Frogmouths all main defense is shitting really stinky shit at you. Even our venomous snakes, as long as you seek medical attention you should be fine. Considering we have the top 10 most venomous snakes in the world but average only 1 death a year that's pretty good.

But you still have lots of dangerous animals right?

Yes.

Maybe I should elaborate. Any animal is dangerous, including you, if given the right circumstances. I'm a lovely person but hurt my dog and you better run. Most animals don't want a bar of you. However, if you are a threat to them, or their babies, they will defend themselves. A lot of animals get tagged with the word 'aggressive' which I don't like, aggression is a human emotion that I've never seen in wild animals, or even pets and things. Mostly it's defensive behaviours that people read wrong. For example, the most venomous snake in the world is the Inland Taipan (found in Aust.), however the most dangerous snake in Australia is the Eastern Brown snake, less venomous but also less shy and lives in suburbia. Still, it only ever strikes at people when it feels cornered and needs to get you to back the hell off. And lets be real here, what else can they do? They can't yell and scream, they can't punch or kick. Legit their only option is to bite, and even then mostly it's a closed mouth strike to freak you out into stepping back, and most people bitten by snakes are given a 'dry bite' where no venom is injected, as they want to use it on their food not waste it on us. And 90% of snake bites that happen in Australia are people either trying to catch or kill a snake.

It's fairly simple. Don't threaten animals, don't give them a reason to be dangerous and you are fine. Crocodiles in the water? Don't swim there. Sharks around? Avoid swimming at twilight. Snake? Leave it alone. Nest with baby birds? walk away. You don't randomly show up in some strangers home and expect them not to react, so why do we expect different from animals?

What animals are on the most 'dangerous list' then? Which animals should I really avoid pissing off?

Start with the obvious. Crocodiles, venomous snakes, sharks, some jellyfish, venomous spiders, stone fish, blue ringed octopus, birds of prey (our Wedge Tailed Eagle WILL attack drones, hang-gliders and helicopters if they come into their territory) Then you've got the less obvious. Ants - like meat ants, they will swarm over you then all bite down at once. 1 bite isn't so bad, a whole colony biting you, deadly. Then there's other ants in the Myrmecia family (bull ants and the like) that are just HUGE, and have massive mandables for biting and also can sting you, and are one of the most toxic insects in the world.

Wombats - Can run at 40km/hr, skull so hard it's the only thing a Tassie Devil can't eat, able to bite your calf muscle clean off your leg, oh and they have killer booty. A hard cartilage plate in their lower back that they use to block their burrows, and if threatened can lay down and as the animal tries to get past jam their legs straight and crush the skull of a fox against the roof of their burrow, easily break a dingoes jaw or even destroy your hand.

Kangaroos - yes they box, hahaha wouldn't it be funny to box with a kangaroo. NO. Kangroos box for fun but also to defend themselves and their mob. The Alpha male is the big buff one that looks like he's on steroids. He looks like that for a reason, to defend and protect his mob. DO NOT MESS WITH ANY KANGAROOs, but really don't mess with Big Daddy (for being the alpha he gets all the ladies) Kangaroos are made for this. A punch from a Kangaroo can easily break you ribs. They can lean back on their tail and bring both legs up to kick you, easily tearing you open, which they can do with the claws on their toes, and so basically dissecting you from sternum down. Oh and if they gran you round the neck for a 'Cuddle' DUCK AND RUN. They will hold you in a kind of choke hold and then bring their legs up to kick you and basically snap you in half. Don't even mess with Wallabies man, they may be smaller but can still do damage.

Tassie Devils - are extremely shy and slower than you, like you can actually run away from them. BUT. They have the strongest bite strength compared to size of any animal. The have a PSI of 1200 and males weigh around 8 kg. For perspective, Hyenas have a PSI of 1100 and males weigh around 50kg

Brushtail Possums - They may be cuter than the American Opossums but trust me, they don't want you around. They are solitary so most people have heard them fighting of a night, screeching, shrieking, hissing, growling and making darth vadar noises. Heads up from someone who has had to rescue them from awkward places (fire-places, BBQs, closets) They are stronger than you and they will f*** you up. Even without them meaning to I've gotten injuries from my joey Brushies, they get so keen on their milk when you put it in that they climb your arm and their claws are sharper than cats. Also the sheer strength of them. I'm stronger than I look but if they are clinging on to a tree you are gonna need all your strength to get them off. The can also bite your finger clean off. And I've seen injuries from people who feed wild ones and for some reason have been late to put out the food or something and they've climbed their leg or even jumped on them - stitches were required in a few of those cases (human skin is not thick like tree bark)

What's with Magpies and swooping?

Simple, they have nests/babies and are protecting them. Australia Magpies are very smart and can recognise faces. If they think you are a threat they will try and scare you off. Just like if you're walking along with your toddler and there's a weirdo doing something strange you hold the kid tighter and closer to you and move through faster. But these guys can't just move their nests or their babies. The spot is chosen based on food availability and shelter from sun and rain, but also not being too cold. It's their spot. I've never been swooped by Magpies, other birds yes, but not Magpies. My local birds know me as the lady that cleans and fills the bird bath. Legit the Magpies sing a specific song when it needs filling to call me out to do it. So don't be a threat. If they are swooping in that area, try to avoid it or go through quickly. We used to have Plovers at my school, in the bush at the end of the oval. Never a problem. One day some kids go into the bush and stomp on their nest and eggs. After that they would swoop anyone who came close to there. So the school blocked off that end of the oval. Fair call. Wasn't the birds fault.

Why is everything named so basic?

Oh you mean the snake that's black with a red belly being balled a Red Belly Black Snake, and the tree with all the doodles on it being called a Scribbly Gum? 80% of plants and animals found in Australia are found NO WHERE ELSE. So the early Europeans had a lot of things to name and when they tried naming it themselves they would get it wrong. 2 good examples are: The Death Adder (only considered highly venomous, not deadly, and not an Adder). Also you're only likely to get bitten if you stand on it or try to pick it up. The Australian Magpie, they saw a black and white bird so it must be a magpie. Nope. Actually not in the corvidae family but in the butcherbird family - Artamidae. So their solution was to either take the Aboriginal word, for example, Quoll, Kookaburra, Koala, Quokka, Taipan. Or name it after what it looks like/sounds like/ is found Boobook Owl - makes a sound like booooo-book Squirrel Glider Eastern Water Dragon Grey Headed Flying Fox Flaky Bark Tea Tree Old man Banksia This can cause confusion though as not every brown coloured snake is a brown snake, and not all Eastern brown snakes are brown. Squirrel Gliders aren't related to squirrels. Flying foxes are bats not actual foxes that fly.

What do I do if I find injured wildlife?

Well, depends on the wildlife and where it is. If it's in a dangerous position, like the middle of a highway, don't try anything. First thing, call a wildlife rescue group, there are plenty around and they have trained people who know what to do. A quick google search should show you all you need to know, also the IFAW's Wildlife Rescue App will identify the closest group to you.

If it's a snake, adult wombat or kangaroo, or any other animal that can cause you serious injury, leave it be. The wildlife rescuers you call can give you basic info on how to help but mostly calling them is the main thing.

If it's something smaller, like a young animal or glider or baby bird and you are able to put it into a cardboard box that will be perfect. The 3 main things injured/ill wildlife need are warmth, dark and quiet. You don't need to worry about food or water. The rescuers will organise that. If you give food or water to an animal in shock you can cause more damage.

THE BEST THING IS TO DO NOTHING. I know this sounds stupid. But so many problems can occur from people who don't know what they are doing helping out. You know what they say about good intentions. For example, picking up a Koala like you would pick up a human child (under the armpits, around the chest) you could actually break their ribs. Also so many Koalas end up needing vet care during heat waves because people pour water into their mouths - they can get pneumonia as the water goes in too fast, it is not a natural way for them to drink. You can also get yourself injured or make the animals injuries worse. I have seen Kangaroos with broken legs get up and try to hop away from people. I have seen severe scratches on other people because they tried to pick up an animal.

What diseases can wildlife give me?

Well. I only know about Australian wildlife, and it's very different to other parts of the world. If you get a bad bite or scratch from wildlife you should see your doctor ASAP, get the wound cleaned properly and make sure your tetanus is up to date (same as if a pet gives you a bad bite or scratch).

There aren't that many Zoonosis that are around in Australia that are easy to catch. Mostly you have to be dealing directly with sick wildlife to get them.

The main thing is Australian Bat Lyssavirus. ABL for short. Now our bats can carry it. About 1 in 1000 bats may have it and you HAVE to be bitten or scratched for it to be transmitted to you. If you are bitten or scratched by a bat your chance is 0.1% of getting ABL but it is related to Rabies, so head straight to hospital for treatment. If you don't touch a bat you won't get bitten or scratched and so your chance of getting it is 0. Hendra is the other virus our bats carry, however it has to go through a horse before it mutates enough for humans to get it.

Basically it's only when you get involved with wildlife that your risk of getting a disease from them is higher than VERY unlikely. If you happen to help some wildlife, and you maybe wrap them in a towel or jumper, even if they urinate on it. You can just chuck it in the wash (I usually add a little extra disinfectant) and it will be fine. Treat it the same as if a pet had used it or urinated on it.

What's some Good Wildlife Apps to have?

Well, there's so many out there now hey? Here's some that I've found handy or know people that use. WomSAT EchidnaCSI PlatypusSPOT are all for recording sightings of these animals (wombats/echidnas/platypus) this helps researches track where they are and how they are going which means we can help them more as well. OzAtlas - record a sighting of anything Australian, animal, plant, fungus, insect. FrogID - need to identify a frog? This is the app for you. Use photos or sound recordings, Field Guide to *insert state/territory* Fauna - Have a field guide on you wherever you are without having to carry a book. Seek by inaturalist - Helps you identify any animals, plants, insect, fungus. IFAW Wildlife Rescue - wildlife rescue app (currently for NSW only but soon expanding) will give you advice on what to do and put you into contact with the local wildlife rescue groups.

Besides Cats and Foxes, what other invasive species have you got that cause problems?

First up, any invasive species causes a problem. In Tasmania they have issues with Sugar Gliders, because they are not naturally found there and use up tree hollows that other animals need. Invasive species cause competition for food, water and shelter. They can also bring in diseases that didn't exist in Australia before and that our natives have no defence against (like cats and Toxoplasmosis) Here's a quick list of invasive animal species in Australia. Cats, dogs, foxes, pigs, water buffalo, ferrets rabbits, horses/brumbies, goats, camels, Cane Toad, European Honey Bee, Common Myna bird, deer, donkey, common starling, common pigeon, black rat, brown rat.

There's more, there's reptiles, and weeds and fish but those guys ^ are the main ones that cause problems.

I am an animal lover but unless we get rid of these animals you loose more in the long run. I'm 100% against use of poisons, I prefer having people hunt them to be honest. If you know what you are doing and have the right equipment you can give them a quick, painless death. To give you an idea how bad invasives are:

The introduction of the rabbit is the main cause the Lesser Bilby became extinct.

The introduction of cats and toxoplasmosis is believed to be the main reason Eastern Quolls became extinct on mainland Australia

Rats led directly to the extinction of 5 of Lord Howe Island's bird species

30% of our land snakes and Goannas are at risk as Cane Toads are rapidly spreading and eat their eggs.

The Common Myna Bird is the 2nd greatest threat to Australian native birds (habitat loss being the 1st)

The fox population has been estimated at 72 million and consume around 190 million birds a year

There's an estimated 23 million wild pigs/boars and an estimated 2.6 million goats - all eating whatever they come across.

How can I help Australian Wildlife?

There's the stuff we already know, like reduce/reuse/recycle and don't litter. But there's other things you may not know about.

Turn off lights at night - any lights that you don't need, don't have them on, especially if they are outside. Lots of animals require insects in their diets, particularly moths, which can be distracted by lights. Zoos Victoria have launched educational stuff for this https://youtu.be/ZAcL4FKPtHw

Learn about them - It's not hard, there's multiple ways you can do it. There's books, tv shows, pod casts, you can follow sanctuaries and other people who work with wildlife on social media. Planting flora that's native to your area is great as different plants can attract different animals and it's much lower maintenance, being made for that environment. You can even find cool life-hacks like Lemon Scented Tea-Tree doesn't just smell amazing and feed lots of wildlife, it keeps the mozzies away! There's different kinds of nesting boxes out there specific to different species that you can put up to help 'foster' that species. You can even become friends with your local Magpies! Mine know me as the lady who cleans and fills the bird bath and all I had to do was whistle to them when I was done and now they are really chill around me and I get to watch their antics. Debunk Myths! - In learning about wildlife you can debunk lots of myths like: a mother bird won't take it's chick back if you've touched it (fake news!) or that snakes dislocate their jaw to swallow their prey (that would be soooo painful!)

Put out water - have a bird bath and keep it clean and full. Or if you don't have one or want to get one just put water out on hot days. Summer's getting hotter and hotter and our animals really suffer. So put out a nice pot or container of water. Don't forget to put a rock or a stick in it if it's a slippery surface (like plastic or metal) so that little animals and bugs don't fall in and drown, and keep it out of the sun if it's likely to heat up.

Check roadkill - it's not pleasant but needs to be done. Don't do it if it's a motorway or somewhere dangerous, but if you can PLEASE do. Roadkill sometimes looks dead but isn't and you don't want them laying there suffering. They may have pouch young if they are a marsupial or young nearby that will need care without their parent. And where possible get it off the road. Species like Tasmanian Devils, Goannas and Wedge Tailed Eagles feed on roadkill and can then end up as roadkill themselves. Even if you have to drag it, it's dead and not gonna feel any more pain. 100% of people I have attended a rescue for who have called because they stopped and found a joey or young in a pouch or hiding nearby have not regretted their decision at all. Even if they were late for work, they saved a life and it was worth it.

Avoid using poisons - insecticides, pesticides, snail bait and straight up rat poison. Like mentioned in POISON VS VENOM, it just keeps killing. There are so many other options out there and they aren't hard to find. There's stuff on the internet but also at Bunnings I've found more environmentally sound options that use Tea Tree oils and Eucalyptus instead and work just as well.

Don't feed them! - Most Aussie animals are gluten and lactose intolerant. BREAD IS REALLY BAD! and if not eaten it gets mouldy and causes disease. Putting out bird seed is the number 1 problem when we talk 'feeding wildlife'. WHY?

The 'wild birdseed' that you buy in shops isn't actually for wild birds. JUST LOOK AT IT, you don't see those seeds growing out in the wild. The main seed wild birds eat are Bottle-brush, She-oaks, Banksias, Wattle and Eucalypts. None of those are found in these bags of seed.

Even for seed eaters that seed you buy is too fatty and unbalanced

For those that don't usually eat seed, like Lorikeets, eating the seed destroys the specialised bristles on their tongues that they need to eat their natural food - nectar and pollen.

If you don't keep it clean you will spread diseases, especially psittacosis (beak and feather) for which there is no cure just a slow, drawn out death. You can also catch it and end up in hospital.

You cause an imbalance. Animals breed based on food availability, if you make food available they will breed but there might not be enough space or trees available and you create more competition and also they end up relying on you and if you go on holiday or anything they can die without that food.

You can cause health issues in other animals. Possums love bird seed but it makes them fat, making it harder for them to escape predators.

You will be feeding non-natives. For example, the Common Myna bird cannot survive on wild plants, but if there is a food source around they can. Got rid of Common Mynas in my neighbourhood by convincing my neighbours to stop putting out bird seed.

RATS LOVE BIRD SEED. Specially feral rats. Mice also love bird seed.

You make a predator hot-spot. It won't take long for predators to realised animals they prey on visit your feeding station and they will come. The most common predator I find around bird seed? Snakes. Snakes love rats and mice, rats and mice love bird seed. You do the maths.

If you want to feed them just do some research and plant trees that are food for them.

How many species are endangered?

Sadly, it's almost quicker to list what's NOT endangered in Australia.

That's hard to say as there is different ways they can be endangered. In one area they may be common, but in another they could be disappearing. You can have Endangered lists at different levels; local, state, national and international.

But the most used list is the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List of Threatened Species has evolved to become the world’s most comprehensive information source on the global extinction risk status of animal, fungus and plant species. AKA the IUNC Red List

Here's a bit of a breakdown: EXTINCT 26 mammals 7 birds 4 amphibians CRITICALLY ENDANGERED 7 mammals 8 birds 15 amphibians 13 reptiles ENDANGERED 18 mammals 29 birds 18 amphibians 21 Reptiles VULNERABLE 51 mammals 40 birds 23 amphibians 35 reptiles NEAR THREATENED 43 mammals 37 birds 9 amphibians 21 reptiles

Then there's the "data deficient" category where they really just don't have the info. 10 mammals 11 amphibians 42 reptiles
