I’m fully against doxxing, even if the person being doxxed is a terrible human being. Because even the scum of the earth have people in their lives who don’t deserve to be put in danger. They have family, friends, and neighbors who don’t need to have their lives put at risk just because they are at all associated with someone terrible.

If someone is violent toward people or animals, is a child molester, or what have you, tell the authorities instead of doxxing them. You aren’t a hero for doxxing someone. Don’t try to take matters into your own hands. Go to an anonymous tip line or the local authorities. Don’t put innocent people in danger just because they are associated with someone awful. Don’t post someone’s address online just because it gives you internet-good-boy points. You aren’t a good person for doxxing people, despite how much some of y’all would like to justify it.

I'm not into the coffin of andy and leyley and probably won't be because of how much fandom drama I've seen for it, but my heart goes out to the creator in these trying times.

Getting doxxed is so terrifying, and I find it so sad they (I think I've seen people using they/them, but if someone in the fandom tells me otherwise I'll change it.) now have to worry about their friends and loved ones potentially getting hurt over a writing project. This real person is probably enduring real life repercussions over people being butthurt over kids seeing fictional incest when Greek Mythology is being taught in schools everywhere.

It isn't a fair standard to hold small creators to, when big budget shit can write whatever they want with minimal backlash.

I hope they are doing well, and that the "fans" that did this feel incredibly fucking sorry right now.

Hey everyone, I know it's a dark time in the fandom right now and I am only going to speak on this once.

To begin: there was a period of time where I had some bigger blogs blocked due to a misunderstanding that escalated. I recently learned that both sides were being fed a villainous narrative over something that I did not do. It became this weird Us vs Them ordeal.

I tried to pull away. I blocked a lot of blogs to try and remove myself from the HotD space.

I was very heartbroken. Tumblr was my little nerdy escape that allowed me to swoon over my beloved fictional characters and find kindred spirits who shared the same sentiment. I found myself hating to check my notifications, seeing the hateful anons and DMs, and seeing my mutuals receiving the same grief for publicly engaging with me.

It was awful.

After some time, blogs began to reach out and share what had been said about me, telling me about the rumors. It gave me clarity on what had happened. I see the fierce loyalty a lot of us posses and if I had been told these same horrible things, I probably would have responded in a similar way.

I was grateful for the honesty and I hold no animosity towards anyone who believed what was said. I do not care about the cruel things spread or the name calling, I just felt relieved that I could speak my truth and slowly become part of the community that I loved. I wanted to forgive and just move forward.

Then I found out that I had been doxxed.

They found my legal name and my private IG. They shared it without my permission. I feel fortunate that this group did not do anything with the information shared, but I also do not know if it was shared outside of this chat.

Tumblr is a silly hellsite that allowed me to learn the art of a Reader inserts, to brainstorm story ideas with my mutuals, to reblog nifty gifsets and fanart. But this is something I keep separate my from actual IRL, so learning about this felt like a violation.

I know we are all hurting. The point of this post is a reminder to stay safe, to set up your two-step authenticator and to please keep yourselves protected.

Like I said: I will not speak on this again. If you stay, please know my blog is a safe place where I do not tolerate bigotry of any means.

Just a heads up for US (and Canadian, I think?) university and high school students and professors:

There's an organization called Canary Mission that doxxes students/professors who show their support for Palestine and/or any criticism towards Israel. On their website, (I don't feel comfortable linking it, as it may increase its popularity on Google + looking up your name is probably not a good idea if you're doing it on their own website) they straight up write paragraphs about these people: what they did to end up on the site (includes evidence such as videos and photos), their location, their graduation plans, their social media links (Spotify, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.), and more. They also have a Twitter, which doesn't post as much info but still very much tweets out full names and similar stuff. Their entire goal is to silence people.

Report and block their Twitter. There's a link in my sources where you can report the site to the FBI.

Sorry if this is a bit lackluster in info and such. It's 5 AM right now and I don't have a lot of time to pile up a lot of sources but I feel like this is very important to spread.
