I almost feel like if fiction is immoral sometimes is the wrong question people that care about proship/anti discourse should be asking. Life rarely is a black and white, giving the anti argument an unfair advantage.

Is pushing my individual morality on other peoples and being controlling as a result more of an asshole move than letting people make decisions I perceive as possibly leading to negative consequences for them and others in the future.

If you think yes, you're a proshipper by my definition.

If you think no, you're an anti.

If fiction is morally bad for you is a moot point.

I think people should be allowed to make bad decisions if there's a low chance of them hurting real people (including themselves!) without interference. This, not the fiction, shipping, or morality aspects is the core moral of the issue.

In order to have any meaningful conversation with an anti, they would need to respect my personal moral standard on that and not challenge it. Perhaps a compromise could be found if antis as a whole used logic more often then emotion.

It is why I'm pro destigmatizing and demoralizing addiction. It is why I'm pro bodily autonomy. It is why I'm pro letting people do things I consider could decrease their morality by my personal definition of it.

A common complaint I've seen about the proship community is that we don't take callouts seriously enough. Which, understandable!

But my 2 cents is that when "this user is an actual child predator", "this user ships minor/adult ships" and "this user is against harassing people over minor/adult ships" are treated with the same amount of severity, it is genuinely difficult to determine if someone is an actual threat to others.

If I see a callout post with evidence that could easily be doctored, or no evidence, its easy to assume that antis are making it up to ruin lives, considering the batshit insane shit antis send me on the reg.
