I have a question, I see people say sometimes that typing quirks can be (not always) involuntary and some people can’t translate theirs at all, I’m photosensitive so can’t read it at all if it’s got numbers or anything. I’m just wondering why some people can switch between typing quirks and regular and others can’t? If there’s a reason we know? Genuine question I hope it doesn’t sound rude

(First off, lemme say: none of this is directed at you personally, I just have very intense feelings on the subject. I appreciate the question though!! /gen)

So, this is probably pretty controversial to say, but I genuinely believe that all typing quirks are translatable. Anyone who acts otherwise is being, frankly, ableist.

Typing quirks pose a whole slew of problems for those with low/impaired vision, I/DDs, TBI patients, dyslexia, photosensitivity like you mentioned, etc.

I get that they come naturally for some, and they require effort to translate, but it's just thinly veiled inconsideration and rudeness to imply they're completely involuntarily and there's Absolutely No Way to fix that issue.

More often than not, I'd argue that they could be fixed by the typist themselves. But, let's play devil's advocate: even IF it's in a circumstance where they can't, someone else in their system or server or whatever can do it for them.

Typing quirks in public spaces (or in places where disabled people are present) should be required to be translated, full stop.

Accessibility and accountability do not exist on a sliding scale depending on how convenient it is for ableds.

IMO people's main issue with Taryn is that she chose to deceive her own twin and played with her feelings just to get a place in faerie. I mean sure Jude's deceived her family too but she never intentionally played with their feelings, especially with her twin's. Infact, Jude put alot at stake for her family. In this way Taryn is more selfish than Jude, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it makes her less likeable.

i think you're wrong. Taryn did not intentionally betray her sister just to betray her sister. you're looking at the surface level action there, and that's where the argument falls flat for me. i address this in my last post.

Taryn betrayed her sister to survive in Faerie. just as Jude murdered and lied to and deceived everyone around her to survive in Faerie.

yes, Jude having an ulterior motive of "saving the realm from being ruled by Balekin" (even though this is only one of quite a few less-selfless motives) is more palatable and likeable than Taryn having the ulterior motive of saving her own skin. the point of characters, however, is not to be palatable or likeable or moral, and if that's why you're reading books, i suggest you examine why that is.

Jude does a great deal many things that might be considered contemptible if they were not told from her perspective. indeed, one might regard Jude's actions, especially in TCP, as brash or reckless. i'd go so far as to say selfish, even. by intentionally vexing the royalty of Faerie because she hates them and because she's angry, and furthermore by plotting against them to steal the crown, she puts her family, and most of all TARYN (because she is the only other human), at great risk. yes, it is ultimately "for the greater good" but Taryn never got a say in Jude's plans. Jude was so determined to humble the fae, she forgot (or worse, didn't care) who it might effect.

and make no mistake. i love Jude for all of this. but to hate Taryn just because she had her own plans for survival that might also effect Jude in kind? that's a kind of wilful double standard i'll never understand.

This is not at all directed at you but I’m not a blogger so I just wanted to say this… I’m just out here playing devils advocate for those of us who are observers / inquirers and not bloggers. I see so many people get frustrated by repeated questions - and I understand that. I also don’t like repeating myself. Every job I’ve had, I had the same questions asked every day, but it was just part of the job. And I kind of see it the same way. The people asking genuinely didn’t know the answer to the question, they were new, they needed a little extra help understanding, etc. and it made me realize that I needed to have a little more patience because this is a role I chose to be in. Some people are new to tumblr, aren’t on it all the time, don’t know how to use it, or they’re asking YOU because they trust your opinion on something, at least a little bit. Try to show a little bit of grace to the people who are trying to learn. Understand that the concept of changing your life by changing your thoughts can be VERY hard to grasp for some people. It sounds crazy and wonderful when you first hear it, and people are here to really believe it and hopefully go and apply it. Im really sorry to play devil's advocate but I do get where that other anon is coming from. Even if not proven or fake, these are sexual assault allegations, thats pretty serious. I know a lot of people watch Wednesday but it is aimed at younger audiences and these audiences have social media where this discussion is taking place.

But about the seriousness of the allegations - almost no one is talking about the SA accusations anymore. They’re calling him a homophobe or a racist, or anything else that came after the allegations. They would be serious if there was proof. For a company like Netflix, a couple thousand tweets and screenshots probably aren’t serious accusations.

About it being aimed - it can be aimed at whatever they want. What matters is who truly saw it. And who pays the Netflix subscriptions. And that’s what Netflix is going to look for.

Well, I want to know something that I don't know who to tell, I'll give you a context so you understand:

The system discovered that previously we were just one person (a singlet) but some time later in the 5-7 years of the body we emerged as fragment headmates, and we remember very well that there was no traumatic event (so it can be said that we were a median system formed by fragments of endogenic origin) but time passed in the 9 years of the body we went through a trauma that affected the system to the point that made everyone become a complete headmate. And I'll add more things for context, in the 4th year of our body we suffered an accident, we suffered a trauma at the age of 9, and we always go through stressful situations because of the symptoms of possible autism and the ""symptoms"" of ""dissociative disorder" "

And I wanted to know if with this information we can:

I definitely think you can call yourself trauma-endo. That one's pretty simple. The dissociative disorder part is a bit tricky. I can't diagnose you or anything, but I can tell you what I personally think.

If you're going off the Theory Of Structural Dissociation, and if you're being a real stick-in-the-mud about it, you could argue that 9 years old is too late for a complex dissociative disorder to form.

However! There's a lot to consider here.

First off, the most glaringly obvious thing to note is that there's... no guarantee that the ToSD is even correct. It's a theory. Granted, it's a very well-researched and respected theory. But there's so little we know about the brain and crucial early milestones that I feel like developmental psychology is akin to deep-space astronomy: we know enough to make a good guess, but it's never going to be perfect.

Though, secondly, let's play devil's advocate. Despite giving the theory credit where credit is due, how do we know that 9 years old is a hard limit? Well! We don't. Some people have even suggested the age limit is higher than usual for individuals with certain neurodivergences, namely autism and similar things.

So, third... this is just my opinion, but I don't think plurality as a whole can be encompassed by research papers and people with doctorates. I think, at the end of the day, it's just "me, myself, and I" (perhaps maybe a bit too literally), which means you know yourself much better than anyone else will. Ever.

All this to say, if you feel like you may have a dissociative disorder, I think it's reasonable to say it's definitely possible. Honestly, I'd give you the same advice I'm giving right now if you had said you weren't sure if you developed something at, like, 23 years old. Because I'm not you, and this isn't a clinical setting we're talking about.

Sprint races did initially promise extra spice yes! It seemed like an escape from the boring races (I'd still say if one looked at the strategy war going on between teams it wouldn't be that boring) where we knew who would win 10 laps in. But meh it all went to shit quite quickly haha

With regards to fairness, I'll play devil's advocate here. It's hard to appease everyone, no matter what you do fans will still demand for more. So it starts from what one defines fairness to be. What do the teams say fairness to be? Drivers, what do they say? What does the FIA say in terms of sports and technical regulations? What do we as fans call being fair? How much bias does this fairness have towards one team or driver, or a group of people? How much of each of this overlaps, how much of it is implementable. Cost wise, shareholder sponsor wise is it possible? It's not to challenge your view on improving fairness, there's certainly always some progress to be made in the sport. But it's just to understand how massive a simple thing we talk about really is when it comes to a huge sport. At the end of the day, it's a responsibility of the management, but still it's to really put things into perspective

If it's my fairness we're talking about, then the whole history and spirit of the sport is lost. 😂Because I admit, and I must be the only one. But I like to imagine what it would be like if every driver had the same car, with their preferred settings, and what surprises we could have. But I admit it's utopian and nonsensical. 💀

But a more moderate approach, would be to consult drivers and team managers on what would be best for the regulations. I think that would change a lot of things.

Today, they're not consulted enough, and when they are, they're not listened to at all. There's no interest.

As for the sponsors, I think we overestimate them a little too much, as if the slightest change would make them go away. Absolutely not. F1 is still a money sport, there will always be something to invest in. It's precisely because of their way of doing things that everything will end up going downhill, reaching a point of no return at some point.
