The Dog Knight, the first of the graphic novel series by demisexual creators Jeremy Whitley @jeremywhitley and Bre Indigo @breindigo, with colors by Melissa Capriglione @mcapriglione-art, is out now!
Available from Macmillan
Frankie knows who they are. They’re a drummer, they’re nonbinary, and they’re… the Dog Knight?
One day Frankie is a relatively normal middle schooler, with relatively normal challenges, like finding the perfect outfit to wear during their drum solo during the upcoming band concert. The next, they save a friendly golden retriever from bullies and suddenly find themselves in a giant magical doghouse, with a funny looking helmet, talking to a group of dog superheroes called the Pawtheon about a job offer.
If Frankie can prove that they possess the six dog virtues of loyalty, kindness, honesty, justice, stubbornness, and smell, they will be named the Dog Knight and be given the power to fight alongside the Pawtheon and save the world from the forces of chaos.
Maybe there is more to Frankie than they thought?
Nadia from The Dog Knight is ace.
Bre Indigo's second recently released graphic novel, Northranger with Rey Tercier, is a teen summer gothic romance.
Available from HarperCollins
Cade has always loved to escape into the world of a good horror movie. After all, horror movies are scary—but to Cade, a closeted queer Latino teen growing up in rural Texas—real life can be way scarier.
When Cade is sent to spend the summer working as a ranch hand to help earn extra money for his family, he is horrified. Cade hates everything about the ranch, from the early mornings to the mountains of horse poop he has to clean up. The only silver lining is the company of the two teens who live there—in particular, the ruggedly handsome and enigmatic Henry.
But as unexpected sparks begin to fly between Cade and Henry, things get…complicated. Henry is reluctant to share the details of his mother’s death, and Cade begins to wonder what else he might be hiding. Inspired by the gothic romance of Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey and perfect for fans of Heartstopper and Bloom comes a modern love story so romantic it’s scary.
Yeah and aroace people can also bash your skull in and thats what this aroace person is gonna do if you keep using this as an argument to ignore a characters identity
🌴✨ California Magic is a graphic novel series which follows a found family of monsters, magic users, and joe schmoes as they bumble their way into the nefarious inner workings of their home city.
I'm an ace person myself, so I wanted to create a series for mature readers that doesn't rely heavily on sexual content. Three of the prominent characters are acespec! Two of which are the main focus in our first completed story, which is now available to read here on Tumblr: @curiahcity
lumine was sitting in xiao's lap on the couch. they were kissing each other gently, xiao holding lumine's waist in a way that made lumine feel precious. lumine was holding xiao's shoulders, clinging to him.
lumine pulled back, and giggled when xiao chased her with his eyes closed. his pretty eyes fluttered open and he tilted his head in a question.
lumine smiled, reaching to cup xiao's cheek. "will you touch me, xiao?"
xiao placed his hand over hers and kissed the palm. "yes, my love. of course."
they resumed kissing, still gentle, but xiao's touch was making lumine feel tingly between the legs. xiao placed his hands on lumine's thighs, massaging them, and lumine sighed into xiao's mouth happily.
xiao ran a hand over her stomach under her skirt folds, humming into lumine's mouth. she shuddered and he ran his fingers over her panties, hardly enough friction or pressure.
"xiao." lumine whined.
xiao chuckled into her mouth. "patience, love."
he began stroking her through her panties, and lumine was already so needy that she felt wet quickly. she pushed herself into xiao's fingers as they moved, seeking him out.
"is this okay, darling?" xiao's voice was soft between them.
lumine nodded, eyes squeezed shut. "it's so good xiao, don't... don't stop. please."
"as you wish, love." he kissed her cheek.
xiao then slipped his hand between her panties and her body, reaching down until he could touch her directly. lumine gasped as he brushed against her clit, then whimpered as he rubbed it.
xiao was holding her arching back with one hand, and lumine felt so loved and cherished and well looked after.
xiao kissed her forehead. "how do you want it, baby?"
lumine let her hair cascade forward as she rested her forehead on xiao's shoulder. "fast. please."
xiao giggled. "of course."
he began touching her with insistence, still with delicacy and respect and love, but adoring passion that made lumine feel shy, made her cry out, made her feel lost in their own little world.
she gripped xiao's shoulders as he alternated between driving deep and rubbing her clit. she was writhing in his lap, pressing into his hand and gasping. she felt hot all over, like she was going to implode, and it was all focused on the star of pleasure inside her.
she felt pressure building, a wave, and she whimpered, flexing her fingers as her hands rested on xiao's shoulders. she raised her head and looked down to where her skirt covered where xiao was working his magic.
"i'm close..." she managed to whine.
"it's okay, darling, i've got you. let go."
xiao gave a few more blinding strokes to her clit, and then lumine was crying out softly, her thighs clenching around xiao.
xiao pulled his hand out of her underwear, and she was breathing heavily as she came down. he guided her closer to him, letting her rest on his shoulder.
she felt sleepy, satiated and sweetly held. she nuzzled into his neck and hummed and xiao murmured soft words about how beautiful she was, how good she had been, how happy she made him.
"thank you, my moonlight. i love you." lumine's voice was drowsy.
xiao hummed to her softly, running a hand down her back soothingly. "it was my pleasure, my sweet baby. i love you endlessly."

Admittedly, it took me a very long time to figure myself out, and I'm still not done yet, but being open with friends online has allowed me to feel a bit more okay with being open around people in person.
I started by coming out as asexual, as being ace is the one thing I've always been 100% certain of, even when I didn't have a term for it. I'm not sex repulsed, but I have no desire for it. I'm basically indifferent.
I wanted to make one of my longtime main characters asexual to reflect myself, so I chose Art to take that on. He's equal parts anxious and bull-headed, which puts him at odds with himself. He knows he's capable of handling most any situation, but he's gonna stress about it regardless.
I feel Art and his wife, Rocky, embody a healthy relationship that has zero reliance on sex, or societal norms for married couples. They're in their late 20s-early 30s, don't desire children, and don't have sex. They also have one of the most healthy and strong relationships in my comic series. Rocky is also asexual.
...and then there's Oz, another main who's portrayed as more of a "middle of the road" character morally. A protagonist only in his own life, but can serve to be friend or foe to anyone else. His story involves him having been split from his fiance after she cheated on him, and Oz takes an incredibly long time to find closure within himself, with some unwitting help from Art.
Oz is demisexual and demiromantic, and he personally doesn't find interest in potential partners very often. He's hooked up with another person maybe a few times in his 32 years of living, and he doesn't particularly care to look around. He's in the "if it happens, it happens" boat when it comes to finding a partner. He doesn't actively pine for any sort of romantic or sexual meaning.
Oh, by the way, they're both shapeshifting monster folks.
You can read about them and their friends in my cartoony graphic novel series:🌴 @curiahcity🌴
Happy Pride! And remember: Ace people are very real and we deserve respect and understanding .
