Tara and Leroy live simply despite the fact they can probably afford much more.

Hiya! Salt Lake based cryptobotanist (among other magical fields) here; the temperatures got warm for a good few weeks and quite a few of my plants decided to sprout, but we just had a snowstorm and temps are back down to freezing. I was really worried I was going to lose a bunch of what I had growing, but pretty much all of them seem to have just adopted, eh, shall I say, 'frosty' characteristics? They've all got what looks like crost all over them, but they're going just fine from what I can see. Even with the snow melting during the day, they have their frost. What do you know about how extranormal weather (myself and quite a few of my friends noticed the storm had, for lack of a better term, that vibe) and how it interacts with magic plants?

I've heard of this happening with snow storms before. I've actually read cases of something similar happening in the arid parts of the world where the plants seem to be dripping sand for weeks afterwards, but they aren't damaged, watering them doesn't clear the sand off. Ma has a tree up in the homestead that got struck by lightning once during those weird storms and now instead of producing fruit, it drops coconut sized pieces of crystals. We can't get it to go back to normal, no matter what we do.

I do know that the extranormal weather happens across the globe and that depending on the area of the world, the type of storm, and the type of magical plants, all play into what will happen to the plants. As far as I know for the United States, usually you want to make sure you cover your plants as those storms tend to change the plant, just like you said. It sounds like you'll have frost flowers for the season. If its a perennial plant, it should return to normal next year. If your plant starts to flower, just to be on the safe side I would probably cut out the stamen and the pistil of each flower to make sure the cross-contamination doesn't spread to other plants in the vicinity.

Please do that, we don't need these things spreading. Remember to pick up a thaumobaric meter to check for magic storms.
