Could you tell me about it?

Absolutely!

So this AU takes place after S3.

MK’s thoughts after defeating the Lady Bone Demon aren’t very pretty. We see in canon that he’s hard on himself, and while coming down from the high of defeating such a terrifying villain such as LBD, all the trauma catches up to MK.

He begins having thoughts of ‘if only I’d been better, if only I’d been stronger, smarter, a better hero.’ He begins to think that maybe, he could’ve spared his loved ones so much trauma if only he’d been better, begins to think that they shouldn’t have had to suffer so much trauma in the first place all because of him.

Ever hear the saying “be careful what you wish for”? That’s the catalyst for this AU.

Working out this part but I hat I thought up for it was that a demon goes after an artifact that can grant any wish, a sort of genie’s lamp but it can only grant one wish instead of three.

The demon gets defeated and the artifact is in MK’s hands. They thought the wish had to be spoken aloud to work but here’s the catch - wishes don’t come true when spoken aloud. To quote Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, birthday wish rule.

MK’s thought of if only I could be a better hero activates the artifact, causing him to be sent to where he could be a better hero - the Boku no Hero Academiaverse, seeing as there’s hero schools.

I thought about MK being happened across either option A) Dadzawa, option B) Mama Joke, or C) Papa Tsukauchi. And yes, I did mean to call them those.

Aizawa is such a dad, adopting without the paperwork his class, even though he doesn’t admit it, and MK in the same class as 1A would be hilarious since I do have thoughts on who he’d be friends with. This AU DOES start before the BnHA events, since I don’t want to land MK right into the middle of the school year, especially since I feel certain events and behaviors could be thwarted with him there.

That said, even if I don’t go the Dadzawa route, I still planned for MK to have those relationships with 1A students since his presence would help I think with a lot of them. But MK and Shinsou and Eri being siblings would be just perfect in my book.

Ms. Joke, despite being a goofball, takes her job both as a pro hero and a teacher especially seriously. I feel like since she deeply values her students and believes in them that she’d be good in helping MK find confidence in himself as a hero. (That, and he’s got too many dads, let him collect moms!)

Detective Tsukauchi’s Quirk let’s him know if someone is lying. MK lies a lot regarding his own well-being, so having someone that’ll not let him get away with that would do him well. Plus, Tsukauchi is a friend of All Might’s, and I did have plans for MK and Midoriya having a friendship since they have a great deal of similarities and would be helpful towards one another.

That’s pretty much what I have for the AU though.

(plus it's always fun to read you ranting about MHA)

so, it's not that i particularly hate class 1b or anything. i even like some of their designs and i think their quirks are neat (shemage in particular is fabulous in both design and execution). it's just that, because the story is from izuku's perspective, we get to see very little of their personalities. what we do see of them is filtered through their interactions with class 1a, which means we really only ever get to see them as rivals and antagonists, albeit lower-stakes antagonists than usual. i would probably like them a lot more if we got to see more of them just hanging out as a class, rather than competing with class 1a. however, the only real glimpses we have of how they interact as a class is . . . how they treat monoma.

look, i just don't think class 1b is a very good environment for monoma, ok? class 1a would just be much better for him. i think he'd fit way better into the class dynamic and he'd be a lot more popular and well-liked. class 1b don't appreciate him, even though he spends all day every day hyping them up. and for what? to get karate chopped in the neck whenever he gets too enthusiastic? take a seat, kendo.

we already know that monoma was bullied in school for not having a "heroic quirk." the same is true of izuku and shinsou, so honestly this is probably a pretty common problem in the bnha world. if you're a kid that's being bullied, to the degree that you have any friends at all, your friends are probably other kids who are also being bullied. so how do you make friends with that kind of kid? you defend them. that is INSTANT clout on an elementary school playground. if a kid is getting picked on and you step up and say something about it, you and that kid are immediately besties. foolproof strategy, always works.

that probably worked pretty well for monoma through elementary school and middle school. he got very good at it. his prime directive for making friends became "defend your ingroup, attack your outgroup." i mean, kids can get bullied for a variety of nerdy interests, but one thing they all like is talking shit about the people who are mean to them. you will find no greater vitriol for supermodels than among the kids who get bullied for being fat. monoma learned that in order to make friends he needed to be the first person to stand up for others and the loudest person calling out injustice. that's just how it was.

unfortunately, that strategy doesn't work so well in hero school.

there's not a whole lot of bullying going on in a class made of people who want to be heroes (unless you're, like, bakugou or something), so there's not a lot of "ingroup vs outgroup" dynamics. there are cliques, but there isn't an "us vs them" mentality. not to mention, most of these kids weren't ever bullied, because they're strong and have good quirks. many of them were popular and never needed anyone to defend them because they were never under attack.

monoma's strategy no longer works, because no one needs him to fight for them.

UNLESS YOU'RE CLASS 1A!

class 1a are CONSTANTLY under attack! all the fucking time! their first day of school they weren't even allowed to go to orientation, they were immediately set the ridiculous task of figuring out how to use their quirks in brand new ways in a matter of minutes, and then told that the person who was slowest at it would get EXPELLED. it wasn't like "all of you need to reach this benchmark or you won't be able to handle the curriculum" it was literally "ONE OF YOU IS GOING HOME AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO PREVENT IT, SO MAKE SURE IT ISN'T YOU!" and then, on their SECOND week of school, they get driven out to a remote facility and attacked by VILLAINS! they have to fight for their lives! they have to work together or get killed! SEVERAL OF THEM LITERALLY ALMOST DIE!

this is a class that needs monoma SO MUCH!!!

class 1a is constantly being torn down, by circumstances and by their own teacher, and they NEED a dedicated cheerleader! they need someone to hype them up! they need someone to say "i know this situation sucks but we're the best so we can do it!" they need someone to tell aizawa that he's being unreasonable, or failing that to tell the students that their teacher is wrong about them and they're not worthless or stupid or whatever else insulting things he calls them! they need someone to hype them up, to organize them against the enemy, to give an inspiring speech and get them all fired up! this isn't just artificial ingroup vs outgroup dynamic, this is a class that's constantly having to rally together to deal with clear and present danger! monoma would be GREAT at that!

and yet he gets stuck in class 1b, where all he gets for all his hype and enthusiasm is whacks to the neck and occasionally blows to the back of the head that DRAW FUCKING BLOOD.

anyway class 1b don't appreciate what they have and for that they deserve abject humiliation, thank you for coming to my TED talk.

fic where the League are serving Court Ordered Rehab in the UA teachers dorm and Eri accidentally ends up in their care for a day. Usually someone comes to retrieve her on Saturday, but everyone assumed the other was going to do it (class 1A is not allowed with 500 feet of an ex-league member, save for Deku and Shinsou) and the teachers were rushing to get to patrols/training that they just kind of. Forgot. To make sure someone got her.

And tragic, all communication is cut in the house when the teachers leave and they’re ankle monitors will incapacitate them if they step out the door, so they just kind of have to care for her until someone comes back.

Eri is very scared for the first hour but with Kurogiri/Shirkumo in full Dad Mode, she slowly warms up to them all. Plus, they’re actually kind of fun to be around if a bit intense and Kurokumo makes good food and Shigaraki isn’t nearly as scary as everyone made him out to be.

Everyone bursts into the dorm at the end of the day because SHIT NO ONE GOT ERI, she’s perfectly content sitting on Kurokumo’s lap while Toga feeds her dumplings and Mr. Compress is showing her a magic trick, everyone else playing a video game in the background.

dadzawa theories

i typically see people joke that aizawa has 21 kids (1a minus one grape plus shinsou and eri). now, class 1a is certainly a special case. they have been through a lot of traumatic experiences together. he protects and teaches them in a way their parents either can't or don't. they're the first kids to live on campus in the dorms. they're obviously going to wind up with a closer more parental relationship than any other class he's taught.

but here's the thing: aizawa teaches heroes in training. for as harsh as he can be, especially with expulsions, he's obviously graduated some kids, good ones too, or he probably wouldn't still work at the extremely competitive ua.

we know by 3rd year most kids have proper internships. we know ua runs summer training. we know hero's go through a lot. and his expulsion records actually work in favor here, as small classes tend to get much closer. for as much as others tease him about being soft for our 1a specifically, i think the odds are there's at least a handful of newbie heroes who are aizawas kids in spirit if not in name.

i want to see aizawa check the news semi-regularly to make sure his kids are doing alright. i want some fresh on the street hero to have him as their emergency contact, and for the hero-ward workers to be surprised when it's eraser head who shows up. i want in over their head underground newbies to run a team up or two with aizawa because he's got the experience for this case and their teacher taught them to never rush into a situation they didn't think they could handle.

i want him to have a collection of birthday cards from each and every student who's given him one, both pre and post graduation. i want one or two of his small graduating classes to be working in teams or at least still be tight knit friends. i want him to care about past kids. not all of them, probably. most teachers won't be close with every student. but there are always teachers who have huge impact on students lives, and students who teach their teachers something new, and i think it would be neat to see those kinds of bonds with some of the up-and-coming hero's of mha.

Ya know, BNHA & Haikyuu!! Are both anime where you can ship almost everyone with everyone. The only borders are no pedophilia ( kid x adult) or characters who can never be together because it's illogical (villain x hero). About the later one, I know there's a lot of ships like it, and everyone can ship what they want, I don't judge, but it's illogical (I'm sorry if I upset someone, Toga x Uraraka is still cute).

Like, think about it - In Haikyuu!! You have a whole team of 13 people you can ship with each other, plus 20+ characters from other teams. All of them are within the range of 15 to 18 yo , so all of these characters can technically be together.

My fav ships (that people don't know or don't like):

Kageyama x Kindaichi

Ushijima x Hinata

Oikawa x Sugawara

Bnha - almost the same, but we got a class of 20 people (without Mineta), we got class 1B with 20 people and Shinsou. All of them are 15-16 yo and can date each other. Nothing stops Kendo from dating Ojirou, for example.

Plus there's a lot of ships of 1A who are fucking cute. Some of them:

Todoroki x Iida

Sero x Kaminari

Iida x Uraraka

Mina x everyone (- Mineta)

Shouji x Tokoyami

Todoroki x Kaminari

All of these ships are acceptable and can happen.

So the fights other "wHiCh sHiP iS cAnOn" in this two are illogical. There's no canons in Haikyuu!! (Except for Tanaka & Shimizu) and almost none in bnha (maybe in the future, but rn in 1A there's no canons. Maybe KamiJirou a little, but I'm not sure).

I want happiness, so I'm here to come up with some fluffy headcanons!

Sato finds out everyone's favorite sweets and makes them for their birthdays, or if they're having a hard week. (Bakugou “doesn’t want to owe him” so he bakes Sato’s favorite cake on his birthday. He knows Sato's favorite cake because Hagakure told him. Bakugou didn't ask her, but she's friends with Sato and could tell Bakugou was trying to figure out Sato's favorite sweet but was having trouble with it).

Hagakure always gives people the best gifts because she is listening all the time.

Koda brings his bunny to the common area during finals and stuff like that so the students who are really stressed can destress a bit by petting the cute pet.

Ojiro volunteers at a dojo teaching taekwondo to kids on the weekends.

(This ones more for when he's older but) Shouji gives out free hugs during pride.

Tokoyami makes necklaces with his feathers to give to his closest people.

Tsu volunteers when she can with wildlife preservation organizations, specifically ones helping near bodies of water.

Sero uses his tape to make stickers for his friends (gold stars, thumbs up, "You're doing great!", all the cheesy motivational stuff).

Jirou will sing lullabies for her significant other to fall asleep to.

Iida volunteers at marathons to be the "seeing eye" for blind runners (I didn't even know this was a thing until someone mentioned it to me the other day).

Mina always has a basket of "self care" stuff in her room in case she or one of her friends is having a bad day.

Kaminari makes a bunch of really specific inside joke memes for his friends.

Momo helps tutor kids at a local middle school on the weekends for free.

Once Ochako is a pro, she gives money to everyone in need that she can, be it by donating to charities, or doing what she can to help people in their everyday lives (like, if she notices someone can't afford their groceries, stuff like that).

Kirishima owns a lot of stuffed animals because hardening his skin makes him appreciate the soft things more.

Todoroki gives hot and/or cold (depending on what they want) massages to his friends after long days of training.

Deku hand-draws doodles on the wrapping paper for all his friends' gifts (the drawings aren't super great or anything, but he tries to doodle things he knows they like/associates with them).

Aoyama sends his friends long voice memos of him hyping them up when they're sad.

Shinsou gets cold easily, so he keeps a basket of his blankets in the common area so anyone who wants to use them can.

And finally, Bakugou keeps extra bottles of water with him at all times in case someone else needs it (cause like hell is he gonna let those morons dehydrate themselves when he can do something about it). He lectures/yells at them the whole time he's giving them the water, too.

and that is everyone in 1a! (plus Shinsou, not counting that purple grape monstrosity)
