To Steal A Date
Violet eyes. Her eyes are on of the things, Yang considered one of her best qualities. Her Hair, and face, were fantastic, but her eyes stood apart from all. Hence why she was so intensely staring at her reflection, making sure those highlighted eyelashes had emphasized her beauty unlike none other.
However, because she was so enraptured by her own eyes, she never saw the individual behind her.
: Pray tell, how does one say they wish to steal your beautiful amethyst eyes, without it sounding creepy?
Yang shrieked as she spun around, and stared at the cheeky grin of her, Thief.
: I do aim to steal your breath away, but not like that.
Yang: Well, you’ve got a good headstart then.
: True. Now then, shall we enjoy our outing today?
Yang: Lets.
Yang’s, Thief lead the way into the, Coco Bunny Café. He pulled out a seat for her by the window. It was old fashioned, but dammit if she didn’t like such old fashion tropes!
As he in turn sat down a rather fashionable waitress stopped by to take their order. Her, Thief ordering a simple, Earl-Grey tea, while, Yang ordered a caramel latte.
Yang: So… My name is, Yang Xiao Long. Beat officer, older sister, and a golden beauty unlike any other.
: I’d buy that. Well, my name is, Jaune Luna Arc, freelance artist, and fashion designer. Youngest brother of seven. And, your noble thief here to steal you away~!
Yang: Jaune Luna Arc~! I finally have a face, and a name to my noble thief. So tell me, how do you plan to steal me away~?
Jaune: Well… Right now, I’m doing some research.
Yang: Oh? What kind of research?
Jaune: Research about my mark. I have to know quite a bit about it before I can move in for the steal. Favourite interests, hobbies, dislikes. So, shall I conduct my research then?
Yang: I’m game, hit me with your best shot, Mr. Thief~!
Jaune: Very well. So, how did a pretty dame like you become such a hot copper?
Yang: Dame~! Well, I come from a cop family. My father, was a cop, my mother was a cop, and I just wanted to become a cop myself. My younger sister is probably going to be a cop herself too in a few years. It’s just one of those family things.
Jaune: Such a simple reason to join; you’ll probably be able to become one of the best cops out there. I can already see it now: ‘Captain Xiao Long, here to keep the city clean!’
Yang: Pfft! You’re just trying to butter me up.
Jaune: No, I am helping myself build a mental image of you in a captain’s uniform.
Yang: Oh really? How good do I look in it?
Jaune: …
Yang: …?
Jaune: …
Yang: Hey, Jaune? Jaune?!
Jaune: Huw?! Oh sorry, I was just mesmerized by how beautiful you were.
Yang: Oh? Oh, you’re good~!
Jaune: Easy when your working with a masterpiece.
Yang: Is it now~! So tell me; fashion designer?
Jaune: And, if needs be, stand-in fashion model.
Yang: You design, and dress?
Jaune: Yep: Dresses, coats, pants, shirts, you name it, I’ve probably done it. I like the designing process more. Having seven sisters gave me plenty of time to practice.
Yang: Did you help them design dresses for them to wear?
Jaune: Well, eventually I did. Most of the time I was helping mend their dresses. Or, wearing them…
Yang: Wearing them?!
Jaune: I was the youngest, and I was adorable, at least that’s what they said. So they forced me into them, and took lots, and lots of photos…
Yang: Oh, now that’s something I need to see~!
Jaune: You must be a level five girlfriend to see those.
Yang: Oh, level five, eh? What level am I at now?
Jaune: Since this is out first date: Level 0.
Yang: You think I would at least be a, Level 1.
Jaune: Well this is our first date, consider it your, ‘Three Day, Free Trail.’
Yang: Pfft! Well, I’m love the trail so far.
Jaune: That makes two of us.
Yang: So, who do you work for? You said you’re a fashion designer, but who precisely do you work for?
Jaune: I work for, Adel Boutique. As the second main fashion designer.
Yang: You work for, Adel Boutique?!
Jaune: Oh, so you’ve heard of her? Then again, for one so fashionably dressed as yourself, of course you’ve heard of her.
Yang: You kidding! I wear them all the time! They’re so hip, and stylish! Not to mention they are some of the few fashion brands I can fir my girls under~!
Jaune: Your welcome then~!
Yang: Your welcome…?
Jaune: Coco, tends to design outfits for the more slender of woman. I tend to make the outfits for the more well endowed woman. As I mentioned, I have seven sisters who are also big chested such as yourself. So, I know what I’m doing.
Yang: Seriously?
Jaune: Yep.
Yang: Then… what bra size am I wearing…?
Jaune: S-Seriously?
Yang: Hey, if you say you know what you’re doing then guess my size. Or, are you just…?!
Jaune: D Cup, borderline double D cup.
Yang: …
Yang: Holy shit…?! You do know what you’re doing…
Jaune: Meh, lots of guys know peoples chest sizes… Most of them are perverts, but nonetheless.
Yang: Fair.
Jaune: I have to ask, because she will pester me about this: But, would you be interested in doing some modelling?
Yang: Modelling? F-For, Adel Boutique?
Jaune: Yep.
Yang: You’re kidding?!
Jaune: Nope. You see, one of the downsides of coming here is that my friends wanted to see who I managed to score a date with. They didn’t believe me when I told them I had a date. And, knowing, Coco, if she likes what she sees, she might just hire you to moonlight as a model for her.
Yang: Since when has she been scoping me out?!
Jaune: Since you came here.
Yang: Bullshit! There’s no way she could hav been watching me for that long!
Jaune: Remember the waitress who came to get our order?
Yang: The fashionably dressed girl with the brown shades, and the barrette?
Jaune: Yep, that’s the, Coco Adel.
Yang: No way?!
Yang turned her head to look at the fashionable waitress, who when the duo made eye contact lowered her glasses, and gave, Yang a seductive wink.
Yang: Holy shit…
Jaune: Velvet, please tell your girlfriend to stop hitting on my date.
Yang: W-What are you talking about?
Jaune: Rabbit faunas behind the counter, her name is, Velvet Scarlatina. store owner, Coco Adel’s girlfriend, and resident eves-dropper.
Yang looked at the counter, and saw a rabbit eared faunas ear’s drooped as she embarrassingly looked away.
Yang: Oh that’s so cute~!
Jaune: Oh she is adorable. Hey, have you finish your coffee?
Yang: Hmm? Oh, oh yeah I did… I guess I was so engrossed in our conversation that I didn’t realize I finished it.
Jaune: Well, I finished my tea too. So lets go~!
Yang: Go? Go where?
Jaune: Well, there’s a street filled with shops, and what not. So the question isn’t where we’re going, but where we’ll end up.
Jaune stood up, and offered his hand to, Yang.
Jaune: So, may I steal you away for a day out on the town~?
Yang couldn’t help, but blush softly as a smile spread across her face as she accepted his hand as she stood up.
Yang: I would love to~!

Legacy (Twst one-shot fanfic)
**Some mild spoilers for Malleus’s birthday interviews**
Summary: He wished for their guidance now, guidance of parents who were gone before he hatched.
Word count: 1490
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N: Happy(?????) birthday Malleus 2023!!! This fic is a combination of inspiration from Malleus’s broomquet, the revelation that Malleus’s parents are no longer with him in his Birthday Boy card, and a very sad conversation with @chernabogs. Now I’ve written this so everyone suffers and screams and cries with us ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
*This fic is also on Ao3
Tumblr media
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lilia kept as quiet as possible while he flew through shelf after shelf in the giant royal library of Briar Valley. The library seemed empty, but that’s exactly how he knew he would find what, or who, he was searching for.
Stopping before the door of a private room deep inside, Lilia stood still to carefully observe the child curled up by the window, so small, small against everything this library is, small against everything that room was. And only after he made sure the child was not shutting out the world at the moment did he decide to knock.
“Come in, Lilia,” Malleus did not turn to face him, but he knew only Lilia would dare to find him here.
Lilia mustered up the softest voice he could manage when he stepped inside, “Which volume are you reading this time, my dear?”
“I finished reading already,” Malleus corrected, small hands holding up a heavy black tome, showing Lilia the cover which was decorated with amethysts and emeralds.
“It’s the one—“
“It’s the one with the painting of mother and father and me,” Malleus interrupted, putting the book back down on the windowsill and flipping to the exact page he wanted, “… before I hatched.”
Lilia walked past the beautifully carved reading table and large cushioned chairs to the window where the child was seated. He looked at the page over Malleus’s shoulder, and took a moment to remember watching as the portrait had been painted all those years ago. He remembered how his heart had warmed at the rare sight of the king’s wide smile. He remembered how he looked at the former queen embracing her egg and how he sneakily remarked that he couldn’t remember the last time she had been so gentle to anyone as the king laughed about how Lilia would take the full brunt of her wrath after the painting had been completed. He remembered that he did take it with a cheeky grin still stuck on his face.
He was feeling a similar warmth in his heart now, seeing the painting, it didn’t seem all that long ago anymore. And he understood painfully well that Malleus refused to leave the library, or leave this room, despite having finished the book time and time again, for the same reason.
Alas, Malleus was a clever child.
“Are the guards looking for me?” He asked after finally realising that Lilia being here meant something, “Do I have to go?”
And Lilia sat down on the windowsill next to him, smoothly making up half a lie, “Oh I tricked them away, they think you are busy enjoying unwrapping your birthday presents at the moment. No one will bother you here.”
“I know.” He turned his attention back to the pages, a finger tracing the paragraphs beneath the painting, “I learnt new words since my last reading, Lilia.”
“Really? Tell me, my dear.”
“This one, I learnt it from my history lessons,” Malleus’s finger fell on the word ‘legacy’, “I learnt that my grandmother keeps the ‘legacy’ of the kings and queens before her alive.” His tiny hand balled into a fist, his tiny voice asked his question without turning to Lilia, “It says here it is hoped that I will carry on my parents’ proud legacy. Am I doing it? Am I keeping the legacy of my father and mother alive too?”
“Of course you—”
“But how will I know?” Interrupting Lilia again, Malleus curled into himself further, his head buried behind his knees, “I never met them. I never talked to them. I never knew what they were like. The pages behind this are so few, and I don’t want to read them. Why did they have to go so soon? Why couldn’t they stay with me a little longer? Why did I take so long to hatch?”
And though Lilia understood no answer will ever be good enough, he still had to try, he still had to reach out and take the child into his arms, he was one of the only two beings in this world who could do it, and it was far too sad to let this child drown in such darkness, “But I knew them, my dear, I knew your father and mother veeeeeery well. I knew how happy they were to have you.”
“But they’ve never met me either.”
“They tried their best to come back, they truly did. I can barely imagine how much happier they would’ve been if only they could.”
“Would they have be proud of me too?”
“Of course! You learnt new words again, didn’t you? You’re growing up so fast and as long as you keep growing, they’ll see it.”
“What would they say to me if they were here?” Malleus slowly allowed himself to loosen up, hesitantly raising his head in anticipation.
“Well,” Lilia chuckled, “if I have to make a guess, your mother would be nagging you to go to bed by now.”
Malleus giggled along softly, “And father?”
“Well, he might sneak you out to watch the stars, despite the snow, it’s your special day after all. And you would both come back soaked and sneezing, and your mother would be livid.”
The child managed a small, amused smile at the imagination, and continued, “Did mother sound like grandmother?”
“Hmm… she had your grandmother’s regalness. She spoke with all the elegance and solemnity of winter in her voice. But when you anger her… well, you’d best not because while your grandmother’s wrath is a fire that spreads, your mother’s was a thunder that cuts you open with precision and power.”
“And what was she like when she sang? You told me before that she sang. Oh please tell me more!”
“On occasions, yes, she did. And your father would accompany her sometimes.”
“Violin?”
“Cello. He said the cello’s timbre suits her better.“
“Will I be big enough to play father’s cello soon?” Malleus pondered, and turned his head to look at the table and chairs in the room, table and chairs that he had always left untouched, “Will I be big enough to sit in father’s seat soon?”
Lilia considered the question for a moment. It was quite obvious that Malleus was not only referring to his height or age. But Lilia’s answer did not change regardless. When Malleus grows, he will be ready, that much was sure as day.
Lilia stroked Malleus’s forehead, gently brushing against his scales, “You will one day, child. You are their legacy. You are tired now, you ought to rest, so you’ll give the best of yourself to your studies tomorrow as well.”
Malleus fell silent for a few moments, and began again quietly, “Can’t I sleep here today?”
The cold windowsill is frankly no place for the prince to slumber, but Lilia could not bring himself to refuse, “I don’t see why not, shall I bring you a blanket?”
“No, thank you. I am warm,” Malleus left Lilia’s embrace and nestled up by the corner, “I like to think that this room smells of father’s fire.”
Lilia nodded in compliance, ready to stand up and leave the child alone. But Malleus was the one to reach out this time, tugging at Lilia’s sleeves.
“Can you stay? Can you tell me more about them? Like bedtime stories.”
There was a certain sorrow in having to do this in their place. But Lilia kept himself from pursing his lips, and put effort into smiling instead, “Of course, my dear. Now, where were we?”
“Mother’s singing. Did she sing for me? When I was still oversleeping inside my egg?”
“Why yes she did!”
“Do you remember it? Can you sing it for me?”
“I’d never forget it.”
He promised himself and promised the former king and queen that he would give their child all that they would’ve given. And though he had broken many a promise in his frivolous life, this one, this time, he will keep.
He recalled how the former queen would sing while tapping the egg slowly and softly, tranquil like the night; and he now began to stroke Malleus’s back rhythmically as he breathed in. Then he recalled how the king would join his queen’s singing, how the king’s voice had been kind yet strong like greenery, like trees, like thorns; and he now hummed the song that belonged to their family, their language, their child.
Sleep now, sleep safe, the hope of our lives
Our thorns will protect you with all our might
Be not frightened, be not alarmed
The fires shall still when you’re in our arms
As he sang, it was as if he can see the queen and king there beside their child of night and thorn. As if they embraced him, watched over him even now. And how Lilia wished, as the small prince drifted off to sleep, for them to be there for him, at least, once upon a dream.

A little more Happy Hearts N Hooves Day love for my favourite interspecies royal couple in Equestria. Big Love to all y'all out there.
Tumblr media
Twilight removed her hooves from Chrysalis's tightly-shut eyes. With a bounce of her wings the alicorn hopped down from her perch on her Changeling wife's shell. Twilight had been so excited. Her joy was infectious and Chrysalis had been helpless but to indulge her precious little queen. She had blindly carried the giggling little lavender object of her affection through their castle on a playful lark. The couple had awkwardly trekked under Twilight's blind navigation for the last hour or so. Though she recognized the familiar scent of the Hive-tunnels beneath the castle something else tinged the air, another less familiar scent. It was faint and heavily masked under the overpowering taste of her wife's excitement. "Can I look now, Lilac?" "No peeking!" Twilight clambered over the side of the gilded box and positioned herself with a playful wiggle of her plot and a coy smile. She fluffed her mane and giggled gleefully. One last minute adjustment to the golden band around her neck, a little puffing-up of her chest floof and... perfect. "Okay, now." Chrysalis opened her emerald snake's eyes to behold the 'surprise' she'd been listening to her alicorn wife titter about for the last hour or so. There she sat, perched with a million-watt ear-to-ear grin and reeking of enough joyful anticipation to choke a colossal-scaled molerat in what the Changeling Queen could only describe as a vulgar pink monstrosity. She blinked, taking it all in. A new minecart. Twilight did love her minecarts. Clearly not designed for functionality, the bright pink thing was trimmed in soft lavender and cerise gemstones with gold lining and solid amethyst accents. The wheels even had a smokey bronze finish to them, trimmed in platinum. Somepony had put a fair amount of bits into the gaudy catastrophe. She liked the "LUVWAGON" license plate. The cheeky little lesbian-flag love-heart bumpersticker suited her sensibilities as well. The color scheme almost seemed tailored to Twilight's own coat but still, something seemed off. With a flick of her forked tongue to taste the air she confirmed her suspicions. It smelled like Cadence. Twilight's smile beamed expectantly to her from the nightmarish thing. "Isn't it GREAT?" "Great...?" Chrysalis struggled for the words, trying her best to focus on her pony partner's joy and contain her revulsion. Twilight ran a proud hoof along the gold trim. "It's a gift from Cadence. I think it's her way of saying she's sorry for upsetting you at tea the other day." "Oh. How nice..." Though she bared her fangs in a congratulatory smile, the venom dripped from every word. "She insults me- our children- and buys you a new minecart." She gave a half-sneer. "Hurrah." Twilight leaned forward to rest on her elbows. She gave an empathetic smile for her wife. "She's trying, honeybug. She just doesn't understand you... or Changelings... or our relationship in general for that matter."
Chrysalis grumbled and rubbed at her temple. "Beloved, I know she's your friend and your brother's wife and mother to our royal niece- booger-picking little goblin that she is." Twilight chuckled as Chrysalis rolled her eyes, her tone relaxed slightly. "I try to tolerate her for your sake -and then some- but you know how I feel about her antics and why."
"I know, Chryssi." Twilight's eyes softened. She knew her wife was trying to be accommodating. "She doesn't understand, though, baby. She just wants to be your friend." Chrysalis muttered under her breath and looked away. Twilight clapped a hoof on the side of the cart like she was an excited Applejack showing off a new wagon. "Besides, I thought you might want to help me take it for a spin and break it in." Chrysalis looked to her wife askance as she picked at a bit of moss on the passageway wall. "Thank you, for the offer, beloved but you know how that went the last time we went on one of your cart joyrides together. The things hardly seem to be designed with my body in mind." She clicked a fang at her chitinous lip, recalling the unpleasant event. "I know you had a ball but I spent most of the trip banging about on my shell. I was picking dust and pebbles out of my tarsomeres for days." She gave her hoof a disgruntled waggle, displaying the broken-heart shape of their underside. "Weeeeell..." Twilight's voice took on a sing-song mischievous, honeyed tone as she tapped her hooves against the rim and took a silent measurement of her bughorse wife's proportions. " I was thinking there's more than one way to break in a minecart, you know..." Chrysalis looked up. Her serpentine eyes now wide as serving trays at rapt attention. Twilight lay back and spread her wings over the sides of the cart. Her mane began to flow and coil as the unfathomable power within her rose. The navy mass with it's single band of cerise and mallow grew into an inky cloud as tendrils came alive and lapped about at the air. They beckoned to Chrysalis as charming serpents. The starlight sparkles glittering from her wife's deep indigo tresses danced and teased for all the world like nighttime stars reflected across waves of the ocean. At the center of it all, Twilight's violet eyes narrowed, suddenly heavy-lidded in sweet seduction, calling to her wife. Summoning her closer. Commanding. "Honeybug...?" she purred.
Chrysalis's smile returned in a long, slow, hungry smirk as all thoughts of past events and in-laws vanished. Her tongue flickered at the air with the rumbling growl building in her barrel.
"My queen."
Everything else drifted into the ether. She considered the thought- Maybe she might like minecarts after all.

“This…is your aunt’s house?”
“Yeah…”
Her aunt lived in Escondido, but not in any area, she lived in one of the richest condominiums there, the ones where you almost are patted down by the security guard before going past the gates - the only reason they weren’t was because the guy recognized her last name - and could smell the money coming out of the large houses. So when her and Rooster drove up and past the other mansions, he was surprised when they parked in front of Martha’s house.
It was a big house, undoubtedly so, but it was different from the rest. While it kept the Mediterranean style, the bricks were white and the roof dark brown. She had a lot, a lot of plants in the front yard that were obviously landscaped to perfection since the amount of vegetation wasn’t taking over the whole front yard.
But there was more. Her aunt had tiny statues all over her front yard as well, it took Rooster a few seconds to identify what they were but once he did, he arched one eyebrow, “Dwarves?” he questioned, pointing to a tiny statue in between the plants closest to them.
Beatrice looks down at it, “Oh no, gnomes.” she says and her fiancé just furrows his eyebrow, staring back down at the tiny creature that was sitting on a red mushroom with his hands on his chin, giving him a cheeky smile, “My aunt is mystical like that, there are crystals around too.” she gestures to the large amethyst lying next to the daisies then to the clear quartz pieces scattered all over the grass.
Bradley ‘huh’s quietly, following Beatrice up to the front door where he saw a dangling fairy chime swinging with the wind, the thin metal tubes clinking amongst each other to create a soft melody. The doors resembled the hotel’s, being large with intricate floral designs in the stained glass, the deep mahogany color of the wood making the colors appear even more vibrant than normal. Beatrice gave him a smile, then pressed the doorbell, holding his hand with her free one.
There was the soft yapping coming from behind the door, followed by a voice calming the dog down and the door slowly unlocking. Martha’s tall figure appeared once it was open, wearing a long patterned dress - as usual - with billowy sleeves and her glasses on the bridge of her nose, “Oh, my sweet darlings, how happy I am to see you two.” she wasted no time in engulfing both in a hug, kissing their foreheads and then stepping back, “Come on in, oh,” she looks down where a tiny dog was looking up at them, “This is Bailey, he’s just a bit curious about you Bradley, do not worry he won’t nip your feet!”
Bailey’s little body resembled a pomeranian but his ears were longer, like a corgi’s, “Hi Bailey,” Beatrice cooed, crouching down to scratch the tiny dog behind the ears.
“He’s so tiny.” Bradley’s amazed voice says, following Beatrice inside the house, “I’ve never seen a dog this small.” Bailey however seemed to take offense because his eyes snapped up to Rooster and the pilot could swear they narrowed when looking up at him.
But when Rooster leaned down to pet his head, the anger dissipated and he leaned on the man’s touch, tapping his back leg on the tiled floor. Rooster grinned, then looked up at the inside of her aunt’s house and that place was spacious. The living room and kitchen were open space, the large windows closest to the big comfortable looking couches were huge and showed the outside - more yard and a pool, albeit much larger than the ones they had at home. There was a family picture hanging on the wall above the fireplace with Martha, her husband and their kids, probably taken a few months back if he wasn’t wrong.
And there were more plants inside and more mystical tiny creatures hanging around. He saw another tiny gnome, this one lying on his side and holding his head up  - on the bookcase right next to him, then more crystals next to it. Beatrice chuckled, watching her fiancé look at everything completely speechless, “When I was younger and used to sleep over, she’d leave a gnome in the room I stayed in for protection,” she explains, tugging him forward to the kitchen where her aunt was, “They always look really old.”
He had to agree, he had only seen these in esoteric shops - places he never entered - so seeing so many up close and almost surrounding him was a bit wild to take in. Her aunt calls them to the kitchen, where she’s pouring some sweet tea in glasses. Now that got his attention, because he did like sweet tea a whole lot but rarely had the time to drink it, “There you go.” her aunt’s calm voice said, offering each of them a glass, “There’s only honey mixed in, are you two hungry?”
“No auntie, we already had lunch.”
Martha nodded, then gestured to the open doors that led to her backyard, “Shall we?” They followed her out of the house onto the immense backyard that looked like a forest the more they looked. If the front yard had a lot of plants, this place was the freaking amazon - was that a treehouse on the corner? Martha’s long dress flowed with the wind as she walked, waiting for them to join her on the white patio table, the large red and white parasol giving them shelter from under the hot sun. “Is the tea to your liking, Bradley? I know you like it.”
He pauses with the glass to his lips, giving her a confused smile but assuming that Beatrice told her about his love for the cold beverage, “It’s really good, ma’am, thank you.” and it was, her aunt had a few slices of lemon inside, albeit darker than normal and he wondered if it was infused with the honey she talked about.
Beatrice grinned, holding his free hand and sipping her own tea “Where’s uncle Seb, auntie?”
“He’s meeting with some investors from Bordeaux, I said there was no need to do it today but he insisted,” she chuckles, waving her hand as if she wasn’t talking about a million dollar investment her wines would get, “And the kids are busy with the hotel, so I am alone today…well, me and Bailey.” she coos looking down at the tiny dog who was sitting by her side.
Beatrice tried to think what would make her aunt want to talk to both of them. Congratulating them was one thing, she could understand that but she could do that over the phone…right? Why would she ask them both to come to her house? It was a bit confusing to her.
“Well, first things first, congratulations to both of you.” Martha smiles, leaning her chin on her interlaced fingers, the young couple sharing a look then facing her, “It is so wonderful to see love blooming like fresh flowers in spring, I am very happy for you. I told your father that too, that soon enough you’d be the one walking that aisle.”
The brunette blinks her eyes confusedly, then tilts her head just a bit in question, “Oh, when you saw my post auntie?”
“No, at my wedding.” her aunt giggles, the corners of her eyes crinkling as she smiles, “I knew it wouldn’t take long.” While it was a sweet thought, Beatrice was once again reminded that it was very possible her family wasn’t normal, especially in the ‘cryptical’ sense.  “Your father didn’t believe me, but he knew it too. Have you two thought about what you’ll do?”
“Well,” Beatrice turned to look at Rooster, giving him a small smile that he reciprocated, “We are still…digesting everything, we have to think about a lot of things and then we’ll figure out a time too.”
Her aunt, however, had a smile on her face that Beatrice could only translate to a Cheshire grin. Like she knew something but was holding back for now, with her cheeks flexing and eyes shining behind the spectacles, nodding almost diminutively, still holding her chin on her interlaced hands, “I see.” she says after a while, “Well, it is something to think about for a while. Are you two planning the wedding this year?”
“We’d like to,” it was Rooster who answered this time, “But like Bea said, we need to work on the time and budget and we took this week to have a mental break before thinking about it for real.”
Martha sips her own glass of sweet iced tea, then leans back on her seat to cross her legs and place her interlaced hands on top of the knee, “That’s a fine choice, it’ll help ease your minds before working on everything.” she then inhales, smiling, “My darlings, there is a reason why I called you two here.” that makes the two look at each other then at her, Beatrice’s aunt never stopped smiling at them, “I love both of you, I know that your presence in our family is recent Bradley, but you make my niece very happy and for that reason…I would like to pay for your wedding.”
Rooster chokes on the tea he was drinking while Beatrice almost drops her glass to the floor - right next to Bailey - in shock. The pilot has a coughing fit that makes him stand up and lean his weight on the back of the white chairs as his fiancé was still looking at her aunt with wide eyes. Martha’s smile only widened, tilting her head in question, “Holy shit…” comes Bradley’s voice once he manages to ease his breathing, “Holy fuck.”
“Auntie…w-what did you say?”
“I said I want to pay for your wedding.” Martha repeats easily, as if she’s telling her niece the weather, “And your honeymoon, of course.”
What the hell.
What the hell!!
Never, in her family, she heard of this happening. She had been to a lot of weddings, she had seen a lot of celebrations, usually - at best - the bride and groom’s families helped a tiny bit but…to pay for everything? Neither of her cousins were married, so Martha and her uncle never actually helped with that, but why…her? Beatrice couldn’t understand and she even voiced it to her aunt, “Well, it is quite simple, I want to.” Martha shrugged, “I talked to your uncle and your cousins and with Rafa and Claudia, and we all agreed it’d be helpful for you.”
Her aunt would never think that she and Rooster wouldn’t be able to handle the expenses of a wedding, she believed in them…then why would she want to pay? It’s not like they were asking for help either, “But…auntie,I don’t…understand, that’s so much money.”
“Yes.”
“And we– you–” Martha’s expression remained the same, “How–why??”
“Well, it’s quite simple besides me wanting to help you.” she says, leaning on a hand with a grin, “You are both similar in different ways and I think that you two deserve a good celebration because of your love. I know you two are capable of making it happen, of course you are, but I think you two deserve something done for you.”
The silence that followed her response was deafening.Beatrice blinked, turning her wide eyes to Bradley’s equally enlarged ones, until the pilot licked his lips and turned to Martha, “Ma’am, we can’t accept that.”
“You don’t deny a gift, Bradley.” she replies in the same calm voice, “I am not asking to be repaid, my sweet boy. I am saying I want to help you because you two deserve it. You deserve a wedding without worries or fear or anxieties. I will not input your choices, I will not make you change your mind, I am just saying that this will be an expense you won’t have to worry about.”
While her aunt made some sense, Beatrice was still trying to wrap her head around it. Why was her aunt so focused on paying it and making sure they had no expenses? Of course that was understandable…but why? Why was her aunt thinking so much about it? Did she know something Beatrice didn’t?
“October will be a good month for you.”
The memory returned after a while, she wasn’t sure why since it had nothing to do with what was going on, but her aunt wanting them to save on their money was…strange. Strange and odd. “I…do you…” Beatrice stands up, “Can you excuse us a moment, auntie?” she takes hold of Bradley’s hand with enough force to tug him away, deeper into the house and into a guest room.
Beatrice has her back to him as she closes the door, turning around to see her fiancé with his hands on his hips, “What just happened?”
“I don’t know.” she whispers, “I-I…what the hell? Did my parents- no they wouldn’t, why would she– I…I am so confused, I need to sit down-” she sits on the bed only to stand up seconds after, “No,I can’t sit down, what the hell, what the hell!!” Beatrice was more stupefied than mad, she was more confused than angry, she had no idea how to react.
Bradley didn’t know either, he knew her aunt was a nice lady and all but…pay for their wedding? And honeymoon? Why? They could pay for it, why would she want them not to? Beatrice paces around the room, wringing her hands together, looking up at him with furrowed brows, “I am speechless Brad,I never–I didn’t…oh God, why would she–”
“Baby, we can take this moment to breathe.” he tries, his own heart hammering on his chest, “Maybe we can…compromise with your aunt? I don’t like the idea of her paying everything.”
“I don’t either but you don’t know my aunt, she’s very generous like that.” she murmurs, “She likes…helping people but I don’t know why– she knows we can do it, then why would she suggest it?” Beatrice was getting a headache thinking about it, rubbing her face with both of her hands until she reaches her hair, tugging it at the roots, “But…maybe the compromise…wait, hold on we need to talk to her about it, Why are we here??”
“You brought us here, babe.”
Beatrice’s big green eyes turned to him, realization dawning over her, “Oh.” she clears her throat then, taking hold of his hand to take him back outside, “Okay, let’s just– come on.”
Martha was still sipping her tea, smiling when they returned, “Hello again.”
“Auntie,I love you but I want to know why you wanna pay for everything.”
Martha shrugged, “I just want to, tesoro.”
“That’s…not an answer.”
Martha lowers the glass to the table, folding her hands on her crossed legs and then smiles more, “What I can say is that…you’ll need the money for other things.” both of them looked at her with confusion, “I cannot elaborate.” Beatrice let go of Rooster’s hand to prop them on her hips, furrowing her eyebrows, still not believing her aunt’s words…until Martha sighed, then smiled, “I have an idea, since you two are a bit resistant to accept it, I’ll pay for the wedding and you two will pay for the honeymoon.”
Beatrice looked up at Bradley, that was an idea that both could…understand honestly, “Only the wedding?” Beatrice questions, to which her aunt nods. The brunette looks back at the pilot, who chews the corner of his mouth thinking on it.
“...I…think I can accept that, a bit weird still.” he says, “That you suggest we do that, honestly.”
“Well,I can tell you two one thing, october will be a great month for you.”
October. Beatrice frowns, “You said it before, can’t you just explain why?” her aunt chuckles softly, then shakes her head, “Oh, fine…then, well…I guess, was that why you wanted us to come? The only reason?”
“Yes, pretty much and because I’d love to have company.” she lifts her glass, “Shall we?”
-
They leave the aunt’s house in silence, still taking the information that Martha was going to pay for their wedding and that it was decided. Bradley was driving one handed since his other hand was holding his chin while Beatrice was supporting her head with her own, leaning on the car’s door, “So much for not thinking about the wedding.” she mutters, sinking deeper on the Bronco’s passenger seat, “I…how are you feeling about all this?”
“Kinda shocked.” he answers quickly, scratching the side of his face, “I do appreciate her saying she knows we can do it but prefers we didn’t, but I don’t get why she wouldn’t want to.” he turns his brown eyes towards her, “Was she always like that?”
Beatrice’s eyes face nothing as she remembers the many times her aunt was cryptic or strange, almost talking in riddles, “...yeah.” she answers with a short laugh, her smile faltering as she looked to the side, “I appreciate it too Roos, but…I dunno, I mean it’s one thing to not worry about I guess. She did say she couldn’t figure out a better wedding gift than that and I am…um…shocked as well.”
It’s one thing to get a nice gift that’d add to your home but to have your rich aunt pay for your wedding was…interesting. She didn’t want to complain, her aunt said she wouldn’t interfere with the decorations or whatever they wanted to do, she just wanted to make sure they’d have the perfect wedding. And then this October thing, again, “Why did she say that about October?”
“I’m not sure.” she replies, “She said that to me again, months back when we were buying stuff for Éowyn, that October would be a great month for us and she couldn’t say more.” she bites her lower lip, chewing on it, “I know she means well, but it was still weird.”
“Yeah…but then again, maybe because she noticed we are a bit,” he moves his hand for emphasis, “All over the place and don’t know what to do, she chose to help?”
That’d make sense honestly. Yeah, that was probably why.
“You are right, well, either way it’ll be used properly you know?” she smiles, the heavy and confused atmosphere turning into a much lighter one, their tense shoulders lowering as Bradley took them home.
When they got to the house, Beatrice’s phone started pinging with messages, one after another. She blinked, holding it up to her eyes when they entered the garage. Evelyn wasn’t really happy to be the last one to know about the engagement and she said - well, more like ordered- the two of them to show up at her place on Sunday so they could have a celebration because of it.
Beatrice sighed, rubbing her forehead and telling Evelyn that while she appreciated it, she and Rooster were still enjoying the downtime. Plus she already had a lot on her mind because of her aunt wanting to pay for their wedding, she needed a mental break from it for right now…that’s why Evelyn told her that they could come on the very next week then and that they had to celebrate one way or another.
Bradley looked back at the brunette who was tapping her phone against her forehead repeatedly, chuckling to himself, ‘Baby,” she stops and sighs, dropping the phone to her lap, “It’s okay, we’ll be fine.”
“My mind is like,” she moves her hands in a circle over her temples, “All over the place Brad…you know what would be really good? Ice cream.”
“Ice cream?” he asks as he steps out of the car to follow her inside, watching her pick up Jolene like a baby when the pittie rushed over to greet them, “I wouldn’t mind it.”
“Actually,” she turns around, still holding the large dog who was now looking at Bradley upside down, “Maybe we should just…” his eyebrow goes up in questioning, “I…I don’t know…just do nothing.”
Rooster’s chest moves when he laughs, the brunette looked absolutely lost on what to do and he couldn’t blame her, honestly he felt a bit drained and confused himself,”I have a much better idea,” he says after tossing his sunglasses to the side, rolling his neck ,”A nap.”
“A nap?”
“Yes, a nap.” he repeats, “I think it might be good to reset our minds. Let’s make this the last things we have to think about the wedding, yeah? Then it’s about enjoying some alone time together, the three of us.” Jolene’s tongue lolled out of her mouth in a doggy smile, “And then, then next week we’re going to step on the gas and worry. Deal?”
“God, yes, please, deal.” she laughs breathlessly, the front of her face hitting his chest - Jolene squished between the two but not at all bothered - smelling his cologne, “I love you,I’m sorry my family is so crazy.”
“I love you too and don’t apologize,” he smiles, kissing the top of her head, “Your family is crazy but it could be worse…have you seen Mav?” Beatrice looks up at him, “He may appear normal now but when I was younger? Crazy shit.”
Beatrice huffs a laugh on his chest, slowly lowering Jolene back to the ground so the pittie could zoom around them. Her now free arms wrapped around his middle, nuzzling the part of his chest that wasn’t covered by the white tee, “I believe you, amazingly.” she whispers, “You never told me much about Mav when you were younger.”
His eyes avoided hers for a second with his lower lip disappearing into his mouth, “I guess I am now at peace sharing it.” he muttered, “You know I was mad at him for a long time, baby.”
‘I know. But you don’t have to share if you don’t want to.”
His smile softened, one of his large hands cupping her soft cheek, “You are going to be my wife,I wouldn’t want to hide anything from you.” he coos, kissing her soft yet grinning lips, ‘But before that, napping. I feel like passing out right here.”

⊱ Gifts
Characters: Lúilírë/Airilin Synopsis: Lúilírë and Airilin find gifts for each other. Warnings: / Author's Note: Double drabble for this one! Hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
"I have something for you," Airilin declares while they sit at the edge of one of Ilmarin's pools together.
"I-I... it isn't necessary..." Lúilírë hurries to say, then swiftly corrects himself, "I appreciate it, of course, but–"
He silently curses himself for his poor response. Should the Elder King's strategist not know better? Yet fortunately for him, Airilin seems undeterred by his nervousness, toying with whatever object he's currently holding in his hand.
"Look," he says proudly and opens his fist to reveal a beautiful pearl, shimmering in the moonlight. "I spent the whole day diving to find one that is as pretty as you."
Lúilírë is speechless, blushing as he's complemented with such unabashed affection. Airilin places the pearl on his palm, gently prompting his fingers to close around it, then continues to hold his hand between his.
"I... this is the loveliest gift I have ever received. Thank you," Lúilírë manages to respond after a few seconds of stunned silence and is met with a delighted grin from the water spirit.
"I will get you as many as you like," Airilin promises and moves closer, bringing their foreheads together. "Whatever my favourite little pearl's heart desires."
Instead of responding, Lúilírë kisses him.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ ˳༄꠶ ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
"This time, I got you a gift," Lúilírë tells him as soon as Airilin emerges from his favourite pool in Ilmarin for yet another visit.
"Oh?"
What wonderful news indeed. Seeing his little pearl is always a treat, especially when he is flustered like this, but a gift would make things even better. His violet eyes spot a box in his hands, with a silver bow on top of it.
How sweet of him!
"I hope you like it," Lúilírë says nervously.
Airilin pulls himself out of the pool and sits down on the floor, looking up at his lover with a cheeky, playful smile.
"That depends. Does it sparkle?"
Lúilírë seems to be taken aback by his question, then nods. "It does."
"Perfect!"
Airilin's ear fins flutter with excitement as he accepts the box and swiftly opens it with his claws like he's attempting to crack open a seashell. He finds an elegant silver circlet inside, adorned with beautiful little amethysts, and squeals in delight. Before his lover can even open his mouth to ask what he thinks, he has already placed it on his head and admires his reflection in the water.
"How do I look, dearest?"
"Gorgeous. Even more so than usual."

“Are you sure this is a good idea?”
Rey turned to her brother, Finn, who’s eyes were wide and she placed a comforting hand on his shoulder at his fearful expression.
“Don’t worry Finn!” Rey’s girlfriend, Rose Tico, excitedly exclaimed. “I managed to smuggle this bag out of my father’s shop!” she held out her satin pouch. “It’s full of crystal necklaces and protection stones! Plus,” she held up her pointer finger and fished out a spray bottle from her backpack. “I brought holy water!”
Rey grinned at her girlfriend’s excitability, and gently touched the amethyst necklace Rose had given her on their one month anniversary.
“It’ll protect your aura and draw in divine energy!” Rose had told her, with that cheeky grin on her face. Rey had immediately put the necklace on and hadn’t taken it off since, giving the amethyst necklace the same careful treatment as the citrine one her father gave her when he and buir adopted her from the run-down town of Jakku.
While Rey wasn’t quite sure what to believe when it came to psychics, crystals, and mediums, she was very certain that the supernatural existed.
When you lived with two dads and two brothers, one of each being highly receptive to supernatural energies, you became a believer.
“Can I have that holy water in a nerfgun then?” the annoying voice of Poe asked. “You know. So I can shoot the ghosts instead of having to wave a crystal around?”
Rose shot a glare at Poe’s grinning face, and Finn gave a small shake of his head at his boyfriend’s antics, before accepting a bracelet of what Rey recognized as ApacheTear, also known as clear Black Obsidian. Good for protecting the aura from negative energies, Rey remembered from her father’s infodumps.
Honestly, it was no surprise that Luke and Rose got along like a house on fire with how diehard they both are about the mystical world.
“Don’t even try to force one of those useless trinkets on me!” Rey huffed as Armitage Hux, her cousin Ben’s friend (possibly boyfriend? She wasn’t sure what they were.), shoved his way past Poe, who glared at the ginger teen.
As much as Poe purposely antagonized Rose, it was done in jest and never with any malicious intent.
Hux, however, was another matter.
Poe, Ben, and Hux were all nineteen, graduated from Chandrila High School the year before, but Poe had preferred to hang out with the year younger Finn - and therefore her and Rose who were two years younger than Rey’s younger brother.
Honestly, Rey thought the only reason why Ben and Hux had joined them was because Rey’s oldest brother, 21 year old Grogu, had forced them along for some family bonding time.
Others definition of “Family Bonding Time” might be board games, a movie, or a night out for dinner.
But in the Skywalker-Djarin-Organa-Solo household, it meant ghost hunting.
“Don’t worry Hux,” Rose said with a sickly-sweet smile. “I wasn’t going to - a ghost can rile you up for all I care.” Hux sneered before turning away.
Hux was very vocal of his skepticism in the paranormal, and oftentimes got into hot debates with Rose over the existence of spirits, ghosts, and demons.
Rose, as one might think, was Hux’s diametrical opposite. Where Hux wore neat and trim black clothing and slicked back his ginger hair, Rose preferred marked-up blue jeans, ratty shirts (like the “I Am Not Normal, I Am Paranormal” one she was wearing tonight), paint-splattered tennis shoes, and (for some reason Rey has yet to find out) fingerless black gloves. Her black hair was kept in a messy ponytail, and Rey could still see some spots of paint her girlfriend had forgotten to wash out.
Rey herself liked to wear leggings, though hers were full of holes and appeared to only be held together by a few pathetic-looking strands of thread. She wore a shirt Rose had given her for this occasion, white with the words “Real Girls Go Ghost Hunting” in spooky writing and a black jacket she had nabbed from her father’s closet.
It was amusing she and Luke were the same height, and they often stole clothes from each other’s rooms.
Finn and Poe wore normal clothes, though Poe (for some reason) had brought a pair of shades with him.
Rey didn’t understand the Guatemalan-American man sometimes. She probably never will.
Her cousin Ben had been sulking in the shadows, as per usual, while Grogu was preparing his camera for any documentation they came across.
All in all, Rey thought wryly, they were quite the bunch.
“Soooo…” Poe drew out the ‘o’. “What’s the spookiness behind this place?”
“In 1985 police were called to answer a disturbance reported by the neighbors,” Rose explained. “And boy was it a disturbance.”
“Was somebody murdered?” Poe asked with a joking grin.
“Yep.” Grogu answered, still engrossed in his camera.
A silence fell between them all, before it was broken by Hux’s disdainful sniff.
“The only reason I’m here,” the ginger drawled. “Is to prove that all this ghost nonsense is all make-believe and Tico’s trinkets are nothing more than a scam.”
Rose scowled, but everyone kept their mouths shut when Grogu slid into the conversation.
“Okay,” the Hispanic man said. “Here’s the deal,” he gave them all the look Rey and Finn had fondly labeled the “Stink-And-Die Eye”. “I am aware we all have differing…opinions on the supernatural,” he shot Hux and Poe a look. “But we are here to have fun. If I hear any arguments, it’s a one-way ticket back to the van where there is no heater running.” he stared at all of them now. “So, unless you want to sit in the cold van all alone for the rest of the night, I suggest everyone keep their opinions to themselves and try to have fun. Capeesh?” Grogu raised an eyebrow.
Rey was quick to nod her consent, followed by the vigorous nod from Rose. Finn smiled while Poe flipped a peace-sign. Ben gave a small nod while Hux glared, but an elbow from the man beside him made him mutter in acknowledgement.
“Good,” Grogu said, turning to the large, sprawling abandoned building before them. “Then welcome to Exegol Manufacturing. Famous for it’s one-time boom of business, and infamous for the triple murder that took place inside it.” Rey grinned as Grogu did jazz-hands. “Legend has it that every night, the ghost of the murderer wanders the building, looking for the souls of the victims he killed so he can end their very existence once and for all.”
Finn let out a squeak of terror while Poe whistled.
“That’s some tale there, Grogu.” he said. “You gave me goosebumps.”
Grogu gave him an unimpressed look.
“No, really, you did! Look!” Poe unrolled his jacket sleeve and sure enough, goosebumps ran all along his arm.
Then Grogu’s whitebox went off, and everyone jumped as a soft, quiet voice said;
Run.

-- Engagement Arc: Preparations (I)
Tumblr media
Ashe’s brain was buzzing with ideas on what to wear to the Gala. She normally wasn’t into things like this, but it was a chance to try something new, and so a few days later with her mother, Ashe was pulled aside to talk about it.
‘Something like this is important, Ashelia. A lady simply can’t show up in--’ “I know, Mom.” Ashe cut her off. “That’s why I want you to go and I want us to dress to the nine and present in an old-fashioned way. Something only Grandcrests in this day and age can do.” She reminds her. Morgan tilted her head but after a bit, smiled to herself. ‘I’d want your father there, but he’s busy at the moment, so it seems i’ll have to find myself a dress and a date then--’ “What kind of dress--” ‘Don’t you mind me, let’s find you something, my dear. Something worthy of a lady finally stepping out into society and who has blossomed worthy of the legacy you shoulder.’ Morgan gently brushed some hair from her daughter’s face to which Ashe’s gaze softened.
“It’s a legacy we started--” ‘Oh its much more then that, my heart. You forget you’re a princess of the fae and you are Victoria Hollingsworth’s granddaughter. You are that and so much more.’ The words didn’t sting -- not much at all anymore, in fact, while Ashe shed tears... she was smiling while doing so. “-- Alright. So... are we going shopping or--” Morgan’s eyes narrowed. ‘Heavens no! You will have a proper dress made of the forest and its residents, but before that, we must tend to some things...’ A playful smile appeared on Morgan’s features appeared to which Ashe felt a cold chill go down her spine.
“... Mom--”
‘Come.’ Morgan takes her daughter by the hand and she’s pulled out the backdoor, the two disappearing into the wood while Kianga, Lucky, and Amethyst all peek on them.
“... Should I tell Leon that he might not see his future br--” Kianga is shut up by Amethyst headbutting him. [ Spoiler alert, brother! Spoiler alert! ] A cheeky smile comes from Kianga then. “Then we should prepare instead. Leon will know of places to get suits I would think.” [ Better. ] Kianga picks up Lucky who squeaks. “You need to be dressed as well.” With that, the three depart the other way to find the just waking Leon and prepare for the coming event.

Tradition passes much like a vine, spreading up and out but down as well into the dirt, rooting itself into the reality of all. The underworld is ripe with traditions passed, people of every religion and background winding up in the depths. There are two people— no, beings that he imagines are partially responsible for this newest one, a small bundle of herbs scattered in the most unsuspecting of places: the queen Persephone, and Eros. Cheeky bastard he was, he imagines that it's the latter.
And Theseus had done wonders with avoiding them, taking long routes just to make sure he isn't trapped in some tradition with an adoring fan, or worse that hellspawn he'd been hired to stop. It seems the fates called little for his careful planning, or perhaps it is the knight before him that has arranged this.
He knows without a doubt on his last death that there was no bundle in his arena, as it was no place for love (except in the case of his compatriot Asterius, whom Theseus undeniably cared deeply for) but for death.
The mistletoe mocks him, he can almost hear the laughter of the blinded God as the two stand there.
Fuck.
"If you wanted a kiss all you had to do was ask. No need to trap me under this." It's doubtful she actually put it there, but he can't help the comment from leaving him, even as warmth fills his cheeks. Theseus is not one to spit in the face of a tradition, even if it's not his he will have to follow through. Of everyone it could be, he feels lucky that it was her rather than a multitude of other unfortunate choices.
He decides it's best not to prolong it, to simply get it done so one of them could feel the kiss of a blade instead. Though he moves in real-time, it feels slow motion, not dissimilar to when they fight, a rush of adrenaline whipping through his veins as battle-worn hands take her face in his. She's far taller now than she was in life, and Theseus has to lead her downwards to even have hopes of reaching her lips.
Not that he's hoping.
Though it's only momentary, it feels like years have gone by in that single instant before his head tilted, lips slotting together, lashes fluttering to a close.
He's done this a million times in life with her, and still, it feels like the first time. But perhaps it is her amnesia that causes the hard knot to form in his stomach, or perhaps it's simply anticipation that makes him slow. Their lips graze, light like one of Eros's feathers dragged across skin, skin erupting into goosebumps. Sapphire eyes are half-lidded, gaze finally moving from her lips to amethyst eyes. Though she doesn't speak, he can almost hear her voice from fights past; ooooo you want to kiss me sooo bad.
It's nostalgic, and while he'd been so against the bundles hung even just minutes prior, he finds that maybe they aren't so bad as lips move, calloused thumb running over porcelain smooth skin of a high cheekbone. She was right all along, he did want to kiss her and he now takes the opportunity for all it will give, hands sliding to slip around a thin waist, dragging her close, flush to him.
For someone so renowned for fighting, it seemed that as a lover he could be gentle, though the longer the kiss goes the more he can feel feelings well, feelings he'd fought to keep at bay since their remeeting. The dam breaks, and Theseus is swept away in the kiss, her mouth akin to the air he fought so desperately for in his final moments. What started as sweet and tame has spilled over into desperation of longing, of wearing masks to hide what relationship they had in life, and now that it's pulled away Theseus finds that he doesn't want to wear it.
The kiss breaks with the need for a panted breath, and it's like reality hits him at that moment, snapped back into the present after being washed away in memories. Drowning once again, but this time it will not be his death, but perhaps a rebirth.
Except for the moment he sees that smug look on her face he changes his mind, these battles will never stop. Embarrassment rages in him like wildfire. His spear sinks into her, under the ribs and to that blacked heart of hers. Her laughter is haunting as it echoes around the empty arena, body crumbling before him. She would return, that much he knows, and he can't tell if he dreads it, or looks forward to it more.

@crxstallium -  “  i’m not strong.  or brave.  i survive ‘cause there’s not really any other choice. ”  //  djeeta ... >3
&. 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬.
The storm had subsided for what felt like eons now. Thunder shaking the skydom and lightning cracking the very sky, rain pounding everything the skyfarer held dear - As if the storm wanted to destroy all peace and drown out all happiness. Yet, all the same, the long and terrible day passed without a single thing actually breaking. But Djeeta knew that it wasn’t only the physical that could be harmed, entertaining the little kids and helping the more fearful bunch get through it, checking up on every single person periodically.
And yet she stayed in Crystal’s room when the storm had ended. The primal may never delve too deeply into all the things she had seen, and yet the captain knew what fear and trauma looked like when it was staring right at her. Prunella and Amethyst kept her the most company, yet when they eventually left her room, Djeeta just didn’t have the heart to leave her by herself until she was sure she was okay. So she came in a moment later with the simple ask, “Can I be near you?” She couldn’t make up a good excuse at the moment, but luckily that was enough to allow entry. Begrudgingly or not, Djeeta couldn’t tell, Crystal’s fear replaced with a soft yet distant stare. Then it was just the two women just sitting on the bed in silence - Crystal wrapped up quite nicely with a cup of tea, and Djeeta sitting on the end while looking out her port window.
The stars had finally poked through the dispersed clouds when Crystal spoke up. Not that Djeeta was waiting for an explanation, though saying her feelings plainly was much better than trying to feel out the atmosphere. Vague words of her fear, yet deep enough for the captain to not want to pry. Djeeta knew enough about physical and emotional pain for a lifetime, so she would never try to dig up old wounds for explanations. Instead, at that statement in particular, her uncharacteristically serious expression softens into a warm smile, yet with a deep look in her eyes to boot. Staring at the stars, beyond their projected glimmer.
“ ...Well, I think there’s a bit more to that. At least nowadays anyways - though if I’m presuming, please correct me. But…Well, you have them don’t you? ” The captain’s eyes go to meet Crystal’s, golden amber meeting somber amethyst. “ You’ve had your goal of finding your sister for eons, but in this short while you’ve been with us, I think you’ve made plenty of relationships worth surviving for. And I think that’s being pretty brave - allowing these beings into your life, caring for you and you caring for them back. It also gives you a choice of what exactly you’re surviving for; who you’re being strong for or for what exact purpose. Minut things or for the largest of reasons - I’d argue, even, that you’re not just surviving anymore. You’re living, Crystal. ” There’s a moment of pause. Where the captain feels the swell of her chest, a sparkling in her eyes that could profoundly have any meaning mixed with the awe for life, and the desire to shout about how even the simplest things in life were beautiful. A breathless preaching of something the primal may have already known, followed by a big gulp of air. A part of her unfortunately felt a bit hypocritical, in feeling like she was perhaps speaking to a mirror image. Yet it was only for a blink, and then Djeeta remembered how so far apart their lives and destinies could be. A primal free, and a singularity…
“ Plus, ” Djeeta started up again with a huffed laugh to chase that thought away, “ I’m pretty sure you’re physically stronger than me. You could bench press me any day of the week - I mean that. ” Any seriousness melted into a cheeky grin, a teasing glint that almost dared Crystal to try it right now. Of course, only if she wanted to move away from her protective position.

It's already July 7 at my place right now and I have one thing to say: Happy birthday, Aurora! Our cheeky fae menace with an adventurous soul and captivating amethyst eyes 🥳 🎉
I noticed that their birthday is on July 7 a week ago when I was rereading their profile~ Let's hope Sebek will tone it down a little since it is Aurora's special day (or are we expecting too much from him?) <3
What are they planning to do on this day, I wonder? >:D Also, rest in peace to their phone's notifications in case it got filled with incoming messages from their siblings! 🤣
also a platonic birthday gift interaction from damien or another oc of mine to aurora, maybe? 👀
- bree <3 (@silvoila)
*Smiles in has nothing planned for them* Ehehe, I can remake their birthday SSR voice lines? Maybe even whip up a personal story if I have enough time.
I think Sebek might tone it down for their special day. Since they don't tease him as much as usual. 😄
Oh yes, their phone absolutely will blow up. 😂 Their brother alone gives them 30 notifications by spamming their chat with happy stickers!
👀 Interactions? I'm looking forward to it!

Amethyst - Chapter Seventeen
What?! Gladlily is evolving!
"Oh, whats this? An evolution? This is going to go viral!" Chen grabbed her Rotom phone and pointed the camera so that it was now facing Lily, who was becoming shrouded in the exciting evolution mist.
Congratulations! Your Gladlily evolved into Gladimax!!!
Chen and I couldn't help but squeal in awe at the adorable, fully-evolved Pokemon that stood before us. Her hair had now grown into full-on tulip braids, and her body was now an assembly of leaves rather than just one single leaf she had back when she was still a Gladillum. However, she still retained those adorable black eyes and signature squeak! "Awww, she's so cute!" Chen gushed over her, as I glanced over at the chat on her live video. The gifters in the chat were now sending red tulip gifts to celebrate along with us.
"What a beautiful Pokemon!" One of them wrote in the chat.
"You're really lucky, Y/N," another said.
I laughed as I saw the viewer count had now exceeded ten thousand. At that moment, Buzz and Jordan appeared, causing Chen to grab her Rotom phone and step aside.
"Look at this! Lily evolved again!" I exclaimed, pointing at the beautiful grass Pokemon that stood beside me.
"Wow, she's so cute!" Jordan stuck his hand out to play with Lily's hair, which she happily squeaked in acceptance.
"So, you beat Chen, huh? That means you've got six gym badges now!" Buzz interjected.
"Yeah, he/she really brought up a snowstorm! I've never had this many gifts on a live before!" Chen called out from across the room.
"Anyway, Y/N, Jordan told me you wanted to talk to me about a theory that you have."
****
The Juniperia warden had kindly allowed us to use the town hall as a point for our second meeting. This meeting consisted of Buzz, Jordan, Danny and Mackenzie, but Lisa was unfortunately missing.
"What do you guys think of my new outfit!" Mackenzie asked, lifting his arms so that we could see his new hoodie. It was a pale white hoodie, in vast contrast to his dark hair, with a print of a shiny Gengar. He was also wearing ripped blue denim jeans rather than his usual skin-tight black ones.
"Glad to see you finally saw sense," Danny mocked. "That Moon outfit was horrendous."
"I'd rather put that behind me." Mackenzie scowled back, as Danny sent me a cheeky wink.
"Quite a few things have happened since our last meeting." Buzz explained. "Chairwoman Crystal and Deputy Chairman Clyde paid a visit to Birch's lab to examine the corrupted Aron Pokemon. They have all concluded that the Pokemon has indeed been messed with by some kind of mechanical device that switches up types. Crystal said it was something she'd seen before in one of Team Moon's bases."
"So does that mean we can safely conclude that Team Moon were the ones responsible for the incident?" Danny queried.
Buzz nodded. "It's looking extremely likely."
"Does that mean Lisa is off the hook?" I chimed in.
"Not quite. Maddie informed the Elite Four about Lisa's obsession with Team Moon, and they've taken her into their headquarters at the League to question her about it, and hopefully educate her and set her on the right path."
"Oh god, I hope they're not too harsh on her." Mackenzie interjected.
"I think she'll be fine. Crystal can be quite tough at times, but deep down she just wants to protect the safety of Taldourse and everyone in it. Not to mention Clyde likes to turn everything into a joke. They'll be like good cop and bad cop," Jordan explained.
I nodded my head, feeling slightly more reassured. Deep down, I prayed that Lisa would be okay.
"So, about this theory of yours?" Buzz snapped me out of my thoughts as I realised all eyes in the room were on me.
"Yeah, I was watching Chen's webcast. You said you think Team Moon could've been responsible for Kossi's death," Danny said.
I nodded. "Well, who else could it have been? Team Moon are disgusting. They've been proven to have harmed Pokemon in the past, who's to say they're not capable of harming people as well?"
"But Kossi was the strongest and most powerful trainer in Taldourse. Even Team Moon weren't dumb enough to try and mess with him. Besides, everyone knows that Team Moon were terrified of the Castors." Buzz interjected. "I can understand your theory, Y/N, but I'm afraid it just doesn't hold water in the grand scheme of things."
"I still believe it, though." I stood firm in my ground.
"I agree with Y/N. There's something seriously wrong with these people." Mackenzie spoke up.
"Anyway, back to the plan. As you all know, we've sadly run dry on leads." Buzz continued. "If we can't find any Team Moon grunts, it must be because they've ditched their uniforms and are starting to blend in with ordinary people. So they're hiding in plain sight."
"So you're saying any random person in any of the cities could be a part of Team Moon?!" Danny gasped.
Buzz nodded. "We can't trust anyone outside of our task force other than the Gym Leaders and the Elite Four. So here's the plan: I want Y/N, Danny and Mackenzie to continue with the gym challenge, and collect all seven of your gym badges. Then, head to the Pokemon League to take on the Elite Four."
The three of us agreed, nodding our heads.
"If you see anyone acting suspicious, give me a call on the Rotom Phone immediately, and if you see any more corrupted Pokemon, call Professor Birch. Jordan and I are going to head up to Opaquia and see if we can find any clues in Team Moon's old base."
****
And so, we began our descent down Juniper Mountain once again. Although climbing downwards was a breeze compared to upwards, we still had to be extremely cautious to avoid slipping. Despite everything, Danny managed to remain in relatively good spirits.
"I've evolved a bunch of my Pokemon now." He boasted.
"Oh really? What's your team?" Mackenzie inquired.
"I got Pikachu, of course, Zana, Slowbro, Sylveon, Flygon and Garchomp."
"Oh that's neat. So you're an electric specialist, huh, Danny?" Mack continued.
"Yep. Electrics are my favourites. What about you guys?"
"Well I'm more partial to ghost types. And Lisa is into fire and dark mostly," Mackenzie explained. "What about you, Y/N?"
"Oh, I don't have a specific type I'm into," I said. "I like to switch out my team a lot, give everyone a chance to shine, you know?"
"That's fair. Hey, I'm in a battling mood now!" Danny piped up, with a big grin on his face. "Who wants to take me on?!"
"Considering I've beaten you three times, I think I'll pass on this one." Mackenzie smirked as he backed away onto the sidelines.
Danny's eyes then turned to me. "Are you ready to get thrashed, Y/N?"
"No, but I'm sure as hell ready to do some thrashing!" I responded, grabbing a Pokeball as Mackenzie watched in ernest.
You are challenged by Pokemon Trainer Danny!
Danny sent out Pikachu!
You sent out Gladimax!
Pikachu used Thunderbolt!
It's not very effective...
"Lily, use Petal Dance!" It's super effective! Pikachu's HP is down to 1!
Pikachu toughed it out so Danny wouldn't feel sad!
"Haha, I love you Pika!" Danny cried. "Use Dig!"
Pikachu burrowed its way under ground!
I smirked. I had always enjoyed trolling dig users by using their own move against them, hence why I kept it in the move pool of the majority of my Pokemon. "Lily, use dig!"
Lily burrowed its way underground!
Danny's eyes widened in shock.
"Haha, I like your style, Y/N!" Mackenzie laughed as he clapped his hands in anticipation.
Pikachu used dig! Lily avoided the attack!
Lily used dig!
Pikachu fainted!
Mack and I burst out laughing as Pikachu fainted and was recalled back into his Pokeball. Danny, however, was red-faced in humiliation due to my trolling of him. Even Lily was squeaking in amusement. However, my laughter quickly came to an abrupt halt when I noticed someone rather unsavoury tracking across the snow a few yards away with an exceptionally large Latios trailing her, grumbling loudly.
"Optimus, no, I can't give you anymore rare candy; you are already on your maximum level." The blonde-haired lady attempted to explain to the disgruntled dragon. My fists immediately clenched.
Danny and Mackenzie immediately picked up on my sudden change of demeanour, and turned around to see none other than Harp Girl.
"Oh no..." Danny muttered. "Not this girl again..."
Her head suddenly snapped around in hostility as she picked up on our presence.
Her gaze was incredibly cold and hostile, just like it had been back when we had first met her on Juniper Mountain.

" did you miss me? "

"No."
An answer comes out all too monotone and easy off her lips as golden eyes continue to look over documents, clearly ignoring the expressions on her friend's face. The answer isn't true, naturally, but Sokolova feels a bit impish today and joking around with Slevant's always been her favorite time well-spent. They're friends, it's so obvious and so true that it puts a smile on her face when she looks over photos of them together at some cafe, restaurant, outside, inside, it doesn't matter. Jut them together. A bond established and a story intertwined with another. A beautiful continuation or a tragic ending isn't even on the horizon, if there is anything they had together - it's time.
She keeps her game fairly well, not even the corners of her lips twitch while not even looking up from her documents. Zarina knows she won't break character even if she looks up, but it's even funnier to imagine Crystal's shocked or scheming expression. No matter what, she'd look good and quite gorgeous. Be it with a sprinkle of comedy or not, but it will always remain true: the pinkette will always blossom like the prettiest flower wherever she went. No matter how many thorns there will be, Sokolova knows she'd want to be in her company eternally.
The sound in front of her desk makes the silverette finally look up, meeting with eyes of amethyst and now her smile appears on her face rather easily. Documents are put down as she chuckles, giving a bit of a cheeky smirk to the other.
Tumblr media
"It sounds like you missed me so much, Crystal. That's cute," she teases and places her chin on her open palm, looking up at her friend from her sitting position. "Well, I lied, I did miss you. It's been quiet around here these weeks. I thought you left without saying goodbye."
It's a joke, too, but Crystal's capabilities are beyond this world and Zarina wouldn't put it against her if she wants to leave this world, too. Then again, she wonders if the other world will be different compared to this one. Slevant seems like a fairy out of a tale that fiction writers conjure on their own, but she's all too real. Is this world too different compared to her own? Aside from social nature, is it?
"I already ordered your favorite drink to be delivered here, by the way. You're welcome. Also chocolate pudding you wanted to try last time. You're double welcome."
Ah, yes, the cheekiness comes back.
