A/N: After coming across this post, I was hit with a flashback on an older fic I wrote 3 years ago that I didn't post on here.

Well technically I did post it on my fanfic sideblog but tbh that place kinda ded so...

Anywhoooo!

"O-ow!", I winced as I felt something pinching my ear. Except it wasn't a pinch. It was my mischievous boyfriend of mine nipping on my ear.

"You were sleeping again.", Tokiya teased as he pecked the spot that he bit.

"N-no, I was...meditating, that's all."

I had gotten my hair washed earlier and the next step was to blow dry my untamable mane before straightening it. With the new hairdryer brush I got, I'd be able to get both tasks done in no time. Thanks to some help from Tokiya, the process went by a little quicker.

"If you want to take a nap, you can. I will wake you up once I'm finished.", he explained as he brushed through another section of hair. Moisturized, of course.

"You know, you didn't really have to go through all of this trouble. I can't even do my hair at my age. Embarrassing, right?", I joked, hoping that he wouldn't hear over the blaring noise of the electrical brush. But I was wrong.

"Nonsense, my love. It's no trouble at all. Besides, I'm more than happy to help if it means I get to show off how beautiful my girlfriend is."

I soon winced. Not from the brush's heat- from Tokiya's sudden compliment drop.

"Once again, you're the worst.", I scoffed, ignoring his small chuckles at my flustered self as he continued brushing out my hair.

Lighting Overlay 2.0

Lighting Overlay 2.0 is an overlay to create fake shadow on your sims to sort of simulate a more realistic lighting in The Sims 4! I made this overlay CC to improve your screenshots aesthetics, not for gameplay, CAS genetics, etc!

This version is basically a standalone updated version of the first Lighting Overlay. Compared to the first version, it's softer, darker, and blends better. This version also only affects face, neck, a little bit of chest area, and won't affects outfits!. So, it'll be compatible maxis match and alpha outfits!

Two versions available: True Black Version and Color Version

TRUE BLACK VERSION

This version can be found in Skin Details, Makeup, Tattoos, and Brow Ring (left) categories! This version, however, is not makeup sliders compatible.

Preview of all the swatches! The last two swatches are meant to be leaves on trees shadow. If you guys like shadows like that, I might consider making another lighting overlay just for that!

Below is a preview on various skin tones. Unlike the first version, the version 2.0 still look good on the darkest skin tone!

COLOR  VERSION

This version can only be found in Makeup category! It's makeup sliders compatible!

By default, the color of the shadow in the color version is blue/purple-ish. You can use the hue slider to change it into any color!

I highly recommend using the makeup sliders to reduce the white edges by maxing the saturation slider and lowering the brightness slider

Switchable Switch with Animations for The Sims 2

As written in the last post, I used the Unswitchable Switch converted by Simsinlowspace to make a functional switch that can be used by your sims to turn on/off the room lights. They won't turn on/off immediately like the usual functional switches do, but the choosen sim will go in front of it to actually press the switch and it will move up or down as you can see here:

The switch is shiftable but I also added a second version if you don't have Apartment Life EP (choose one). It won't disappear when walls are invisible. It has a new Guid so you can have both the deco version and mine in your game.

This mod changes the way lights are laid out in CAS. The overall lighting is becoming more even and smooth now, and your sims will look closer to the original textures (e.g. their skin).

Lighting Overlay CC

I made this lighting overlay to create fake shadow on your sims to simulate more realistic lighting in The Sims 4! It's good to make your screenshots look more realistic and dramatic!

What and how does this CC works?

This overlay can be found in multiple categories like Skin Details, Makeup, and Tattoos! It adds fake but still realistic shadow to your sims. This overlay will not conflict with any other CC/mods since it's just cosmetics, not a real lighting mods or something like that! I highly recommend using this only when taking pictures of your sims!

~urban haze~ reshade preset!

I've been using this preset on my twitch for a bit now, and i've finally gotten around to releasing it!! I'm very happy with it and I currently use it for everything😅

Urban haze has a focus on realistic lighting with a slight hazy and warm feel. Less blue in shadows, darker nights, deeper afternoon shadows, saturated sunsets, balanced greenery. Use it in any world, I've tested them all :)

How to download:

♥ Download Reshade: (I use reshade 5.7.0, I can't say how this preset will behave with other versions of reshade, or G-shade.)

♥ During Reshade Installation, select The Sims 4, choose DirectX9 as the rendering API.

♥ Effect Packages to install: standard effects, sweetFX by CeeJay, qUINT by Marty McFly, color effects by prod80, and Legacy effects.

♥ Download urban haze below, drop it in your Sims 4 installation's "Bin" Folder

♥ Open the Sims 4, Disable edge-smoothing in your graphics settings if it's not already, In the reshade menu, set RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED= to 0 in global preprocessor definitions if it's not, and MXAO_TWO_LAYER= and MXAO_SMOOTHNORMALS= both to 1 in qUINT_mxao's preprocessor's definitions.

♥ If you're struggling with installation, I suggest you check out @kindlespice's installation tutorial! It was made for reshade 4.9.0 but the instructions remain the same.

Notes:

♥ Both Depth of field shaders are off by default, you can enable them using their shortcuts: ctrl + Q (MagicDOF), ctrl + W (MartyMcFlyDOF) or enable them manually.

♥ MXAO.fx also has a shortcut (ctrl + R) bc sometimes the DOF blur makes the shadows weird, most of the time it's fine!

♥ Could potentially be gameplay friendly, depending on your GPU! The MXAO and DOF shaders will be the most performance heavy, feel free to adjust to your liking.

♥ The pictures above were taken with this preset and no further editing, but I do use a few lighting mods that will affect how my game looks:
