This is why we can't get Kazuha TCG character card yet! Based on how this Genshin TCG game mode works, in order to get a new character card, we need to duel the character first. Kazuha never played Genius Invokation TCG, so we couldn't duel him. Now that he has tried Genius Invokation TCG and will get a Casket of Tomes for himself... then maybe... we can get his card in the future!

STARTERS [ SIMON 'GHOST' RILEY ]
Tumblr media
cw: none, strangers to lovers, first meeting, not beta read, might be military inaccuracies because im not in the military, medic! fem!reader. notes: i've worked so hard [exaggeration] to make this look cute but ik its gonna devolve in 0.5 seconds. this is part one of a series. words: 1,065.
Tumblr media
"This won't be easy."
A fair warning, a meager one too, from your new, technically, superior, Kate Laswell. You had accepted her offer as a combat medic, seeing as their next mission was supposed to take months. But those months weren't even this year, they were the next.
This year, it was your mission to become familiar with your crew, have a starter and a taste.
Considering you've dealt with plenty of irritable, ill-mannered patients in the E.D. before, it shouldn't feel so stuffy when you enter the base. You I.D. card was scanned, and you were permitted entry past the intimidating security guard who's eyes nailed you like you were his prey. You might've been.
Heels clacking, you rushed to your new office,
MEDICAL WING
A sign read, in red, right above your head. You wanted to feel like you were walking into a new life, but the stares and exhausted attempts at a smile the veteran nurses tossed you made a breath you didn't realize you were holding leave.
Luckily, offices were assigned, and yours was on the first floor.
Empty and quite sad, you tossed your backpack and purse onto your desk, which didn't even have a chair, and put your hands on your hips. Laswell had told you that they wouldn't be back until evening, it was morning.
It felt like walking into your first job, gingerly taking your steps to the staff lounge where you introduced yourself to the nurses who were lounging. They returned the gesture graciously, luckily understanding of your nerves.
Soon enough, your actual superior came to greet you, smiling and laughing with the rest of the staff as she raved about you. As soon as basic information was given, you were tossed out of your nest, bidding you a good flight. The ED never waits for anyone after all.
As your first day ended and your night began, you sat in your office, which you finally got a chair for, to sift through paperwork. Boring things never really last for long, and as much as you'd like to one-go your work, it definitely wasn't happening. Especially when your sweet nurses and the other doctors bombarded into your office, playfully asking, more like dragging, you to come with them to the mess hall.
It's impolite to say no, isn't it?
It was fun. It was like being in high school again, smiling and giggling before everyone leans into to whisper, bursting back out into laughter. Oh, and it was juicy. Real juicy, juicier when they mentioned him.
"Ghost?"
You ask, tilting your head as you raise a brow, "What kinda' callsign's that?" There was a strange inkling of familiarity of the name, just right under your nose. The nurse who was telling the story went wide-eyed, grinning at you,
"Oh, honey, he's the one with the skull mask."
The mask. The fucking mask.
Everyone could see it, how you face paled like snow, your head dropping as you gawked at them. They all laughed at your reaction, it was quite comical, though they found it funnier for reasons different than yours, teasing, "I haven't even said the story yet!"
Well, Laswell did. God, were you stupid? He was from Task Force 141! They all, allegedly, saw him in the gym, allegedly lifting double his weight, and allegedly you were blushing at the idea of the number, allegedly. And that was essentially the whole story. The nurse beside you poked as he cooed at you,
"Aw, does the doctor have a crush on her first day?" Laughing as you smacked his arm playfully, a stupid grin on all of your faces. The conversation moves on, talking about the soldiers that got into a fight, and how funny it was when one got a rhinoplasty. It felt like you were half-present, like a fever dream as your thoughts swirled together. Maybe your shift was a little too long.
But you couldn't stop thinking about him, your fork spinning the lukewarm pasta as you blandly laughed with your caffeine-high colleagues. Was he really that fascinating?
You couldn't stop thinking about him, your fork spinning the lukewarm pasta as you blandly laughed with your caffeine-high colleagues. Was he really that fascinating? Your mind ran with every though, you hadn’t even seen him today, and yet here you were imagining him, strong, tall, muscular. And of high status? he sure seemed like the pear most imaginative women would like.
But you can't expect him to be a perfect romance lead, especially the more you listened, seeing as he was quite the topic.
Everyone else seemed to just know him, know him in the sense that he was a figure of admiration. The strongest, the fastest, the most intricate, coolest man on one of the greatest task forces affiliated. They knew every little intricate detail of his service. But you didn’t. You don’t even know what they mean by a ‘skull mask’, was it a full skul? does he do face paint like a 3-year-old? You've never seen him, not that you were reluctant to the chance to.
Maybe you were insane, especially since there was the entire rest of the task force for you to get familiar with too. Well, he was one of them so you should go one by one, right—
"Ya' like to talk, dinnea ya?"
You twitched at the voice, "Scottish," You thought to yourself, "John 'Soap' MacTacvish." Laswell had some comments about him, mostly about his inability to speak understandable English, and his refusal to get a military standard haircut, aka he has a mohawk. But it wasn't just the Scot, the devil answered when his name was called.
Simon 'Ghost' Riley.
It was almost as if he knew who you were the moment your eyes met, like a fuse set off between you. Brown eyes, deep like dark chocolate, and cold like the tundra, and more magnetic than any other man you've ever seen, he stared at you, speaking to his friend,
"Seems like they do, Johnny."
Gravelly and low, almost inaudible if it weren't for your fixated ear, his voice whispered to Soap, his eyes never leaving yours. Soap, or Johnny as Ghost had so endearingly called him, grinned, plopping beside you,
"Aye, yer that new medic Laswell's been talkin' 'bout?"
You blink a couple times before you smile, nodding as you introduce yourself. Soap smiles back, polite yet inked with a bit of his eccentric personality, taking your hand into a firm shake. You smile up at the masked figure,
"You must be Ghost, right?"
He gave a bland grunt, not that you expected much more from a quiet man. Soap grinned, ignoring Ghosts lack of proper manners to introduce himself. With small conversation, they left, almost.
Although he walked away, he never left your mind, and you never left his.

I love masquerade ball trope, specially when you have anonymity when comes to romance.
Can I have number 6?
For Deuce, Malleus and Silver. I would like to know about theirs.
Tumblr media
6. Crowley has decided to put together a murder mystery for the whole ball and you've been the first one "killed." Whoever is playing detective seems really upset about that.
My favorite part of romance anything is the pining and masquerade's are great for that (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧ I guess they could be good for drama too but eh I am not a huge fan of miscommunication related angst. Unless it's that one route in Tailor Tales... and even then not by much.
notes: they/them used for Yuu, you have to be a special kind of stupid to "hurt" Yuu in front of Malleus, the rest of the event requests can be found on my masterlist.
Tumblr media
Deuce
This is bad. Bad with a capital B- during finals week, House Warden Riddle finds out about. And now that he has thought up his angry House Warden, he can add fear to the list of emotions he's feeling, right underneath self-doubt and hatred of whoever decided to pick Yuu off first.
"Wait seriously, you're the detective?" Ace looks as oddly panicked as Deuce feels, their attention firmly on the playing card tight in Deuce's shaking hands.
"I just don't know where I should start." Deuce says nervously, but it is clear he has determination if nothing else. "But you're way better at reading people and I need to know if you saw anyone acting weird." Ace makes a show of looking around the ballroom, the other students are more or less just mingling as they had before. It makes Deuce angry, he settles into himself in a manner that suggests he is about to flip.
"Hey hey look," Ace has both his hands out like he's trying to soothe one of the flamingos, which grounds Deuce only slightly as the back of his brain begins to turn towards an idea without his notice "I would totally love to help you out. No really! It's just don't you think you actually want me to-"
"Of course I do!" Someone shushes Deuce to his right and he glares in way of an apology. No one else has died yet which is a relief, he has to be doing something right. "Aren't you upset that someone decided to pick Yuu off first?" For some reason Ace doesn't respond, if anything he looks a bit crestfallen but Deuce is too caught up in his mixed bubble of emotions to fully notice. "They're already singled out so much, and you know how they always say it doesn't bother them but I know better. I mean not to say you don't- I just. I worry about them so much already and now they can't even enjoy a school dance without someone trying to pick on them-"
"I think you miiiight be reading too much into it Juice." Ace has begun to back away from him now. "And while I would like to help, isn't that against the rules? Wouldn't want to be you when Riddle finds out you didn't win us the game in a card soldier like wa-"
"It was you." Ace stops. Deuce stops to drop into a stance that has Ace really wishing he was not such a slacker on track days.
"If I had known it was you I would have knocked off Jack or something first!" He yells over his shoulder as both boys ignore the established rules of the game in favor of sprinting through the ballroom, a determined officer in pursuit of an only slightly embarrassed knave. "I just thought it would be funny! And jeeze why are you acting like this over a little crush!"
"See I told you." A wise little grey sage nods next to you as you survey the scene. "It's a total race to the bottom between those two.
Malleus
It was not a dark and stormy night until Crowley announced you were the first one out. You don't remember anything in the forecast calling for rain, or NRC students being so afraid of it. The green lightning flickering across the sky suggests a... degree of magic might be involved in this particular turn of events and you do your best to stamp down the tension headache that causes.
"Perhaps it would best if we take a brief recess to let the weather clear up before we continue with our game?" Crowley doesn't wait for anyone to agree with him before leaving, maybe never to be seen again, forcing you to contend with the looming shadow peering over your shoulder.
"You do know I'm not actually hurt, right?" You try to bring Malleus back down to earth, you swear you see smoke curling from his exhaled breath as beady green eyes look you over.
"Of course." He almost sounds like he's pouting, the longer you stare the more his lips purse and cheeks puff, you are surprised he doesn't break eye contact or cross his arms. "But threatening to hurt you in my presence is an insult."
"It was not an actual threat," you carefully take his hand in yours, guiding it to your neck so he can feel the steady thrumming of your heart, politely ignoring the way even more people scramble away from the ballroom. No doubt intimidated by the touching display of intimacy and not the way Malleus's eyes flutter like a blushing maiden as the storm slows to a drizzle. "Crowley just thought it would be a fun game for everyone to play, and since we are all wearing masks there's a good chance the killer-" Another lightening bolt splits the sky with a crack and Mallues's arm tenses. You gently kiss his knuckles and try another approach. "The person pretending to be the killer picked me at random. They don't want to hurt me, I'm not going anywhere." The rain ceases for now, the outburst seems to have rendered the game largely forgotten, with Crowley pointedly refusing to return to start it up and Malleus refusing to move. The band, at least, seems to take the que and starts up the music and Malleus moves to dance with you, making sure to keep you extra close in case anyone gets any ideas of really hurting you.
"I did understand that it was a game." He tells Lilia, even as the old fae shakes his head clearly unbelieving. "But human life is so fragile, theirs more so than most. I can't risk anyone getting any ideas." He won't loose them, not to anything other than time, and even then, if Malleus finds it within his power he will defy fate itself.
Silver
"And now that our first victim for the night has been announced, you may return to your mingling until our killer selects his next prey." Crewel is having way too much fun laying out the dramatic scene before him, even if he is disappointed with the first choice of victim. Silver appreciates his dedication if nothing else, it is always impressive how much attention to detail the Professors at this school put into the small things in events like this.
But he is stalling focusing on that, his purple eyes move to scan the perimeters, Idia is lingering in a corner too focused on his phone to really be playing, besides his first pick would probably have been Azul to save himself the headache. Satisfied he walks (though the people around him part as if he is stalking) away from his position at the entrance to survey the other guests. His hand twitches close to his baton when he senses someone coming up behind him, but relaxes once he notes his father.
"My, my, just what has my sweet boy so worked up?" Lilia seems to be in a very good mood, which relives Silver even if he had expected him to enjoy this game a lot more than he was. "I almost mistook you for Malleus with how severe your face looks." He pauses, gently touching his face as if he will be able to tell just what's so strange about it without a mirror and Lilia's conspiratorial grin grows wider. "Look, even our dear prefect is concerned." Silver's eyes snatch up to the balcony where Yuu sits, leaning on the railing to look at the guests below, mask set to the side lazily as they relive some of his stress with the clear boredom on their face.
The sight catches with the breath in his throat, confusion wrapping him in it's familiar embrace with a strange twinge to it he wants to say he is unaware of but knows he has been feeling more and more in your presence lately.
"I am trying to win the game." He tries, unable to look back at his father not out of fear of his judgement but desire for you to look his way just once. "I don't want this to reflect poorly on Malleus." Lilia laughs, forcing Silver to look at him empty handed with a look of disappointment his father knows he also is completely unaware of.
"Are you sure you aren't worried it will reflect poorly on you?" He watches as his son shifts, torn between wanting to spend time with him and return to his task. "After all, it isn't Malleus who is auditioning right now, is he?" And Lilia spares him the choice, flying off to said Lord as Crewel once again brings the band to a pause to name a student Silver is not sure he knows, and is surprised he does not care nearly as much about.
"Watch me." He silently promises you, bowing towards you just stealthily enough it is barely noticeable. "I will keep you safe prefect, I promise."
"You should give him a kiss when he wins." Lilia whispers into your ear and you nearly fall over the railing with how badly you start.
"L-lilia! I am not sure what you-"
"Or maybe a handkerchief with some perfume?" He is having too much fun at your expense to stop now. "That would suit the aesthetics much better don't you agree?"

Ritsu Sakuma x Reader ♡ Tags: Fluff, established relationship, casual romance, really wholesome, INTRO IS REALLY LONG, SORRY!, she/her pronouns ♡ Word count: 2,215 ♡ Synopsis: Inspired by the Meowsketeers scout story in which this card is featured in. I've been trying to read the scout stories since I never read them, and I thought that this one would be cute to add the reader in! Please note that this fic does not stay true to the story, but it has taken bits from it. A/N: There needs to be more Ritsu x reader fics.
Tumblr media
Drenched in sweat, Ritsu slowly woke up from his nap in the ES gardens. His mind was still filled with thoughts of what happened the other day when Tsukasa confronted and withdrew some of the new members of Knights.
Ritsu pitied them, but what was said was the mere truth. That's the way Knights operated, it was never a unit to have fun with as an idol. But seeing those tearful faces did take a toll on him.
At that moment, Ritsu felt something heavy weighing on him. It wasn't what happened that day, but something physical that he could feel near his stomach.
'Who is it? Am I being attacked? It's not those pranks Tsukipi set up, right?' he thought tiredly. Unless it's (Y/N)...? No... she said she'd be busy today–
Ritsu was getting annoyed. "Hold on. You don't disturb people when they're sleeping!" he groaned. "Now I'm in a bad mood... Don't mess with me– Huh?"
Eyes wide open, Ritsu found that on his stomach was a black cat.
"Ugh, so it was this guy!" he fumed. "Get off! You're heavy and it's too hot...!"
Yet the cat wouldn't budge. It stayed lying on Ritsu's stomach as if he were a pillow. Ritsu wasn't having any of it though, no one dares disturb his sleep even if they were a cat! Getting angrier by the second, he decided to fight it off him.
"Hey! Ow! Don't dig your claws in me!"
"That Suo, he's late!" exclaimed Leo. "What a troublesome guy! I came early today since he gets angry at me when I come late."
"Unbelievable! He's wasting my precious time!" Izumi chided. "This is so annoying. Did your wanderlust infect Kasa-kun?"
Leo laughed. "Eh? What, what? Wahaha, that's funny, Sena! I suppose it's fate that Knights' leader is to be cursed by wanderlust!"
Frantic footsteps could be heard as Tsukasa barged into the studio panting. He apologised, mentioning to his seniors that he got involved in a little incident with Ritsu. That was when Ritsu entered the room, still arguing with the black cat he encountered outside.
"I told you to let go of me, didn't I?! Why can't you understand me, you stupid cat?!" Ritsu growled. "Do my clothes smell like catnip or something...?"
"A stray cat got attached to Ritsu-senpai and it won't let go of him," stated Tsukasa.
"Unbelievable. This was why you were late?" said Izumi. "There's got to be some way to pull it off. Just grab it by the neck like how a parent cat carries a kitchen– Owah! This guy tried to scratch me! If you were human, I'd have you pay compensation!"
Arashi suggested that they all calm down and get started on the retrospective – the reason why they were holding a meeting in the first place. If they ignore the cat, perhaps it would let Ritsu go!
But as Arashi started playing the video of their live, Leo noticed something. In the video, Leo pointed out the front row seats where beside a fan's feet, a black cat was seen.
"This guy, it saw Ritsu at Knights' live and came to meet him!" said Leo excitedly.
"Hah...? No way! That sounds so unrealistic," Ritsu replied before turning to the cat which started showing him affection. "Owah, what? Don't start licking my cheek!"
"Given its reaction, it probably did come to meet Knights," said Tsukasa. "Isn't it just the cutest? It probably fell in love with Ritsu-senpai's brave figure at the live!"
"What?! Don't say things so nonchalantly!"
But the other members of Knights had agreed to let the cat do what it wanted despite Ritsu's comments on how much of a disaster this was.
The cat didn't let go of him even during the retrospective. It lay sound asleep on Ritsu's lap. Knights had come up with a name for the cat too, 'd'Artagnyan', their 'newest knight that was drawn in by Knights.'
Ritsu didn't like this idea at all. He didn't see any resemblance between him and the cat that his fellow members were constantly pointing out too. Though, he didn't want to just kick it out. He wanted it to leave on its own volition.
"It clings to you like how you cling onto (Y/N)," stated Arashi causing Ritsu to erupt into a steam of embarrassment. "Maybe it finds your scent comforting~? If so, it might be satisfied with something that has Ritsu-chan's scent on it..."
"Something with my scent?" Ritsu repeated. "Ah, I just came to an unpleasant conclusion..."
He was talking about his favourite blanket – the only thing in this studio that had his scent on it. But there was no way that Ritsu wanted to give this unlucky cat his favourite blanket!
"Ah, wait! Don't suddenly pounce for my blanket, you idiot cat!" huffed Ritsu as he tried to yank the blanket away. He was now on the floor fighting with the cat. "Give it back! I don't want such an unlucky cat to use my blanket! Guys, please help me out here!"
"Oi, oi. There's no need to get so worked up over something like this, right, Ritsu?" said Leo. "I know it's annoying, but it'll be dangerous if you get violent in here, no?"
"But I really like this blanket! I won't allow it to use it! Ah, don't scratch it–"
"Please calm down, Ritsu-senpai...!" sputtered Tsukasa.
But before Izumi could assert himself to scold Ritsu, you had rushed into the studio. Arashi had texted you about the situation before they started their retrospective, hoping that you'd come to solve the issue at hand. After all, you solved a lot of their problems before, it became customary to ask you for help.
"Ritsu, are you okay?" you asked worriedly, bending down. "Hey, what's wrong? You're not usually like this."
"(Y-Y/N)?!" Ritsu blurted, perplexed at your sudden appearance. "W-What are you doing here?"
You answered that even though you were busy with your own assignments today, you couldn't just ignore what was happening with Knights, with him.
"Is this what's bothering you?" You tried picking up the cat, but it immediately started hissing at you. "Ah! Okay, I'm not going to pick you up then...! Anyway, Arashi texted me all the details already. Why don't you just give up the blanket, Ritsu?"
"N-No!" he cried. "I can't!"
"I don't understand why you like that blanket so much," said Izumi. "I'll buy you a new one if that makes you happy–"
"That's not it! (Y/N) bought me this one!"
Everyone had gone silent over that fact.
"Then I'll buy you a new one," you offered.
"No!" Ritsu protested. "You got this for me when we were first years! I can't just let that go!"
Ritsu usually wasn't this worked up, so you knew he was upset about something other than his blanket. But you also knew that he was a very sentimental person too, so you couldn't just force him to give up something that he truly loved. It was sweet that he had kept this blanket up until now though. It showed how much he loved you.
"I have an idea," you suddenly said. You rummaged through your bag and pulled out a white sweater. "This also has Ritsu's scent on it."
"Wait," Ritsu began. "That's my sweater."
"Mhm, my favourite one too!" you giggled. "If we give the cat this, then it'll give up on the blanket!"
"B-But (Y/N), you love that sweater...!" he said.
"I do, but you love that blanket too, right? I'll give this up so you can have your blanket back!"
With how selfless and thoughtful you were being, Ritsu had finally cooled down.
"N-No, it's fine," he said sadly. "I'll let it keep the blanket, you keep the sweater, okay? I'm sorry, everyone, I went overboard. I didn't mean to hurt anyone."
"Ritsu..."
He picked up his blanket with the cat still attached to it and left the building quietly. The meeting with Knights had come to an end. You sighed, apologised and thanked Knights for putting up with your boyfriend before following after him.
Ritsu was situated on one of the tables at the ES gardens, his head laid on his arms as he watched the black cat sleep in his blanket.
"It's my fault that Knights ended up fighting again... If only this cat hadn't been there. No, I should've been calmer..." he murmured. "It would've been better if I had analysed the situation calmly like I usually do, and brought it to a positive conclusion..."
"Ritsu~" you called out.
With the sound of your voice, his eyes immediately gravitated towards you. He didn't lift his head though, he was too tired for that.
"(Y/N)..."
"Here," you said, pressing a cold can of soda to his cheek. He cried at the coldness but quickly covered his mouth from being too loud. He didn't want to wake up the cat despite how annoying it was today.
"Ah, thank you..." he said, taking the can from you. He laid it in front of him, not opening it. "(Y/N), I'm really sorry about earlier. You were busy, and Nacchan had to call you over to deal with something so small."
"Eh, it's okay~," you said. From behind, you wrapped your arms around his neck, holding him close to you. "I'm nearly finished with my assignments anyway. But Ritsu, are you really okay?"
Ritsu strained a smile, but he held your arm in a way to comfort himself. "I'm fine now. I'm going to sit here and reflect on my actions until this stupid cat wakes up. If I ignored the cat in the studio and it gets restless, it might be even more troublesome."
You laughed. "It's so cute when it's sleeping. It reminds me of you."
"Eeehhh? Why does everyone keep saying that?" he asked.
"Well, it's cute and you're cute! Also, it takes naps just like you, hehe~"
Ritsu sighed but laughed along. "Ah, you're wearing the sweater," he said, finally noticing the baggy look on you.
"Yep! I'm glad I didn't need to give it up in the end, but I do feel sad that you had to give your favourite blanket away," you said.
"It's fine. Maybe it'll let it go later..." he started. "Well, I hope it does anyway. I really do like that blanket..."
He chuckled, reminiscing the time you first got him the blanket. The two of you met just before entering Yumenosaki. You were Mao's friend initially, but he had introduced you to Ritsu during the time he had to repeat his first year. Ritsu had treated you coldly at first, but when you spotted him sleeping in the gardens, coming to know of his illness, you had decided to gift him a blanket for him to use.
It was a blanket you had bought at a shop in town, nothing special, but Ritsu thought the world of it. Even when he treated you so poorly, you were still so nice to him – to accommodate him in this way. He grew fond of the blanket, but he mostly grew fond of you.
After that day, he stuck to you just like the cat he was watching now.
"You know, I'm surprised it's still kept in good condition after all these years," you pointed out. "We're in our third year now... and it still looks brand new."
"I take good care of my things, (Y/N)~," he said. "And I'll be keeping that blanket for as long as I can."
You smiled and gave him a peck on the back of his head. "Anyway, aren't you going to tell me what got you so riled up? It can't just be because of the cat, right?"
"Ah, right..." he said. He opened the can that you gave him and began to drink the contents of it. "So, this is what happened..."
He explained everything to you, recalling what happened that day when they had to withdraw some of the new Knights members. He was honest with his feelings, how bad he felt when he saw those tearful faces, how bad he felt when he knew that those dreams were being crushed.
But after some reassurance from you, Ritsu felt a lot better. That's when Tsukasa showed up to check up on him too. A suggestion of finding foster parents for the cat was brought up which Ritsu agreed to.
By time, he grew fond of the cat albeit he still wanted it gone. But things had resolved themselves, and Ritsu was back to his calm, analytical self again.
You had come to say goodbye to the cat, d'Artagnyan, too. This time, it had let you hold it.
"Hehe, it really does remind me of you," you told Ritsu who immediately turned red. "Don't miss Ritsu too much, you hear me~? I hope you live a comfortable life."
Watching you be so gentle with the cat like that had Ritsu feeling some sort of way. He smiled gently to himself, appreciating that you were there with him, that you were there to console him and to listen to every word he had to say. There was nothing better in this world – even his favourite blanket – that would compare to you.

in an ayato mood after i got him on a single pull :)
here are some thoughts that have been floating around
Tumblr media
// tw ; unhealthy power dynamics, manipulation, toxic relationships, financial abuse, baby trapping
Tumblr media
yan! ayato who is enamored with ayaka's close friend, even more interesting if his darling is cozying up to ayaka for personal gain ; how long will you keep up your nice facade? ayaka is a sweet kind girl, she may be fooled but nothing truly escapes ayato's gaze
continuing on that idea, let us say kamisato ayaka isn't as naive as you thought ; she finds your efforts to cater to her adorable & makes no comment as you dote on her every need. her position leaves her quite lonely so don't let your pretty eyes stray from her for a second
it's a dangerous combo of power wealth & status, you've been dancing in their palms the entire time and it's best you don't try to leave, least they need to shackle you physically
yan! ayato as a modern day ceo with an investigator darling. there is corruption in the inazuman tri commission and it's your goal to bring light to their unsavory business methods. this fits well with a person who has been wronged by the yashiro commission ; perhaps someone was in the wrong place at the wrong time. ayato originally sees no reason to get involved as the shuumatsuban can clean up loose ends, yet he might have to take you more seriously when you apply to be his secretary. you have no evidence against ayato and he's found it quite amusing to dangle evidence just to destroy it completely. he's not sure why he's still keeping you around but your admiration is amusing and the despair that paints your face with every dead end is too delicious to ignore. don't even think of resigning, have you forgotten the agreement you signed before starting?
yan! toxic boyfriend ayato :)
ayato is a person who works behind the scenes at all times, you didn't get the job you wanted? that's just too bad. someone beat you to the new apartment you wanted to move to? no worries you can move in with your loving boyfriend who has enough money to support both of you. you got pregnant despite using birth control? you don't need to worry about anything ayato will always be here for you.
yan! ayato with a spy darling ; he's always known who you were, an informant for a rival clan. to keep you close he passes on falsified information so that eventually your clan will think you've betrayed them ; you've been forced into a corner, begging ayato for mercy and protection from your family. you aren't aware there's truly no need for protection, the moment your clan had planned to silence you was the moment they ceased to exist.
yan! ayato with a childhood friend darling. regardless if you don't remember playing with him and his sister in chinju forest, he still remembers your promise to marry him under the sacred sakura all those years ago.
yan! faceless ayato inspired by michiru ichijou from mieruko-chan. you can see his true appearance and he can't help but spiral into obsession!! ( this concept will be a fic btw )
yan! ayato with a fake marriage!! you suggest it to get out of an unsavory relationship, adding kamisato to your name would make you untouchable. you haven't realized you walked straight into a trap ; ayato has always desired you and now that you're legally binded there is no escape. bonus points if this is set in a historical isekai setting.
"you wouldn't be confessing such feelings if you didn't believe all cards are in your hand, what exactly are you plotting sir kamisato?" the strained smile you were holding had already started to twitch, "if this is some sort of joke i don't find it very funny."
"i'm quite glad my spouse is already aware of how i think, i'm sure we both know my desires for you aren't in jest songbird," ayato smirks, his eyes swirled with an emotion you didn't want to identify, "i'm not interested in ending our marriage, surely you are aware of our differences?"
he didn't need to spell it out. with his wealth and influence escape would be nigh impossible.
"you, how much of this have you planned?" you don't actually want to know, the feeling of helplessness had already sunk into your bones.
ayato just offers you a smile. in all your time working alongside him, you'd seen countless of his rehearsed smiles. chills shot down your spine, you'd never seen such a genuine expression on his face.

Live-read: Dofus Heroes - Kerubim Tome 1 (part 1)
You can find this comic's physical version on Ankama's site, webtoon version on Allskreen, and Free Scans on various file-hosting websites that shall not be named.
Quick disclaimer: While I will be including french screenshots here, because it is a language that uses the latin alphabet, and everyone has that on their keyboards, all ready to type up in DeepL and Google translators — what I will actually be reading is a new fan translation in my native language, which does not use latin alphabet.
Time to quickly switch between two tabs because nobody has translated this comic into English. Yaay...
Tumblr media
This comic has, as my fellow crepinjurgenology studies colleague @dullard put it, "thin god Ecaflip jumpscare"
Ecaflip looks a lot like Ush here, and I think it's way too malevolent. Part of the fun of him to me, is that he is an Evil Fucking Cat that looks like a cute cat. It makes his despicable actions more funny & interesting.
...Anyway, this comic came out during the run of the show, in 2013, and its sheer existence, — including its negative portrayal of ecaflip, its inclusion of blood and Kerubim's 20 mental illnesses, — is a direct confirmation of the show being an unreliable narrator story. (Though, we've been knew.)
This comic's most important function for this blog is that it will provide us with a well-needed glimpse at what Kerubim's adventures are like when he isn't retelling them to a 7-year-old child whose respect and approval he desperately craves.
Tumblr media
The second Kerubim is fatally wounded, he gives up. Yet, Ecaflip saves him, without using one of his nine lives, just as he did in the Wheel of Destiny article.
I suppose it's one of his trump cards, isn't it?
But I am more interested in how at peace Kerubim is with death... It does make sense for Kerubim to hide some rather morbid feelings about his life behind his cheery facade, doesn't it?
It must be tiring. Losing your family, being a god's plaything, losing your brother, feeling like you have to constantly play the role of the cool womanizing warrior, and never unpacking your emotions about any of it. Death would feel like a relief from such weight.
Tumblr media
Which makes Ecaflip's grip on his life feel more malicious.
I know, chances are, this comic, as well as most of the show, were made well before Kerubim's demigod status was thought of as a plot-point.
But even in terms of him being a demigod... I think that death would seem relaxing, despite its temporary nature, wouldn't it?
Tumblr media
One of the main things of this whole comic is that Kerubim gets amnesia.
Harry Du Bois-ass character. Not only is he mentally ill, divorced, and has 20 layers of sad backstory, but also he got amnesia. God bless.
Tumblr media
Yeah, this comic is more realistic and gritty than the show, but the cartoon shenanigans are still real. Thank god.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's a reason why I think that a big part of Kerubim's character is his experiences with loneliness and isolation, and the way it makes him crave being loved and cared for, as well as how it makes him act out to get attention and popularity.
It's telling that while completely amnesiac, he identifies immediately with a small kitten, whom he immediately assumes is a "he" and "an orphan", and wants to take care of it.
It may seem like an innocuous moment at first, but "he is all alone" will become a reoccurring motif for Kerubim's mental state and subconscious in this comic, and it is the comic where we get the Orphan Kerubim reveal.
I already discussed the fact that I think Kerubim kept and adopted Joris due to Atcham-related guilt earlier on the blog, but I will take this moment to voice 2 other reasons:
Kerubim identifies with orphans and children easily. He would never leave Joris alone after looking at him and thinking "You're all alone. Like I was."
The idea of having a child would be very pleasant to someone as lonely as him. He struggles a lot with wanting to act in a way that will make people like him, and children are, by nature, inclined to like their parents even if they're complete losers.
Btw, if you follow my main, @joris-jurgen , you probably know that I headcanon Kerubim as having comorbid HPD and BPD. Because it fits. And because personality disorders are usually the result of insane levels of childhood trauma. And... my experience running this blog has so far not swayed me from this opinion in any way. This little paragraph was your Armchair Fictional Psychology Corner. This man can fit a lot of sadness and wanting to be loved in him.
Tumblr media
Ecaflips confirmed to, just like real cats, have very good night vision.
...Aaand now I'm thinking about cute scenarios of Kerubim, Atcham, and Joris travelling at night, or navigating their home in the darkness.
(Because Joris doesn't have human eyes, as we've seen from the movie. And considering the way Grougaloragran's eyes reflect light in the Oropo ova, chances are, dragon eyes glow in the dark, the same way cats do. Which brings me to the point that, Joris's dragon-ish eyes would probably glow in the dark. Like a cat. Yeah, I am very sane, and should not be sedated in any way, readers.)
Tumblr media
Crocosec has always wanted to have a butcher's shop and feed people with delicious food...
Ah, I don't know why, but my silly little detail-noticing from the first eps, where I pointed out that he has a meat shop, paying off? It makes me feel fuzzy. It's nice to know that the person who wrote this comic cared enough, and that it's something that was put in here with intent.
Anyway, I am about to be very normal about the next few pages.
Tumblr media
*jumpscaring you by including a screenshot from the high-quality scanlation I am reading. Because this moment would be too blurry if I didn't.
He isn't even playing with any other kids... This is going to kill me, and not in a fun way.
Tumblr media
The translation I am reading interprets the last line as "I would return to..." but it seems a bit wrong to me, especially considering my own research on language sentence-comparing sites.
Tumblr media
What Kerubim pretty much says here, is that, he'd like to become a huppermage, and use magic to bring back his parents, sisters, and brothers.
While one could interpret that as Kerubim being lonely while being raised in an orphanage all his life without a family, I have a couple of counterpoints:
He calls the kitten "orphaned" specifically, which implies that there were parents, and that they aren't there anymore.
If it were just a family he wanted, he wouldn't be as specific as to say "sisters and brothers," besides just "parents," which leads me to assume that Kerubim means specific people he used to know (before they died).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Atcham is a Crepin too, as was revealed in the Dofus Movie. Logically speaking, if they were both given to the temple after being born, (and as we know, Atcham was at the temple, because Bashi knew him, according to Wheel of Destiny #8) they probably wouldn't have surnames, especially the same one.
Tumblr media
4. Kerubim's unfunny joke about being the last in his family.
Tumblr media
5. Wakfu: One More Gate's shopkeep being an ancestor of the Crepin family implies that Crepins are a real family that existed, and that, perhaps, Kerubim's affinity for selling stuff has to do with his early upbringing, before he was orphaned.
Tumblr media
6. In the Dofus manga, Atcham says that a sword he owned, which was stolen from him, has been "passed in his family for generations", which yet again, points to them having a family to begin with.
All of this to say... What I think happened was far more devastating.
He had sisters and brothers, and two parents — it doesn't matter if the Crepin family was an adoptive one, or if it was made up of their biological mother, her husband, and half-siblings. Because they're all dead, and that's just... horrible.
A whole family, at the very least 6 people (if we assume that by "sisters and brothers", he means just two sisters and two brothers), wiped out.
...Oh, and one last thing.
Tumblr media
7. I think that, as an adult, Kerubim did put some research into dark magic, with a hope of bringing his family back.
Just as he said he would.
....Though, as always, that might just be me reading too much into things. ╮( ̄ ▽ ̄)╭
Tumblr media
These aren't the tears of an orphan who wishes he had a family. These are tears of grief of a child who used to have one.
Tumblr media
And Ecaflip, his biological father and God, is taunting him about it.
Tumblr media
...I would speak on my deeplore conspiracy theory that perhaps Ecaflip himself is to blame for whatever happened to Kerubim and Atcham's family, — to get Kerubim, or both of them, isolated, and under his thumb, — but perhaps it's just me being actually clinically insane.

what are your thoughts on the hsmtmts finale? I found it to be so disappointing :/
oh, I have so many thoughts.
first, let me preface this by saying I'm both a Portwell and a Rina. I really liked Rina's dynamic in season 1 when they first introduced it and I was here for it until they threw in Portwell. And then the narrative kind of told me Gina isn't Ricky's number one choice/priority but she is EJ's number one priority, andshe wasn't even a choice to him! She was the only person he was even thinking about at the point. I ate that shit up. They were so cute together and their relationship was built on such a great friendship. But I did also like seeing Ricky pining over Gina and realizing his feelings for her...I just hated that they couldn't just let him wrestle with his feelings for a while, he had to put EJ and Gina's relationship down (and he was kinda weird/rude to EJ at times in order to push the narrative of Rina...idk some quiet, semi-secret pining would've been nice to see). also just in case it isn't already clear...I am an EJ girl first and foremost. Idk why but I just liked him so much from the start of the 1st season for some reason. I also adore Ricky, but he drives me crazy sometimes tbh.
in no particular order, here are my thoughts on the finale:
I'm still in shock that Ricky said "I haven't read the full script yet" on the day of opening night of the show. was that supposed to be funny? cute or something? Why was Gina not mad at all about that? It's also kinda hypocritical of Ricky bc he was telling Jet at the beginning that he needed to practice his lines and show up and be a good Hans for Gina since it's her first lead role and I'm supposed to believe the same Ricky (who is apparently in love with Gina) didn't take the time to read the whole script and at least learn the name of the kingdom for her? Did he never run lines with her or anyone for that matter, have a conversation with anyone about the show, or even show up at rehearsals? I mean I'm pretty sure they would've said Arendelle plenty of times during rehearsals, so I feel like he should've known that.I know it was a small scene but seriously? Is this supposed to make me like Ricky? The narrative is confusing me.
I am so happy Miss Jenn was there! The kids needed her support and it just wouldn't be a finale opening night without her there. I kinda wish Mr Mazzara had shown up too but it's fine, I'm not gonna die on that hill. I thought Miss Jenn would talk to EJ, give him advice and stuff and then tell him what a good job he did at the end but unless I'm crazy or accidentally missed something...she didn't really do that. she was too focused on Nini and forgot about her tallest child
I thought it was a really nice send off for Nini, and I liked that she brought the lottery ticket for Ricky, it was a sweet little reminder of their friendship and how they've grown up together and of their relationship, and it also showed that they've let each other go. Although Ricky did look kinda shook when he heard Nini was there and was really upset over the idea that he didn't get a card from her...but I guess it might've been more bc of their friendship than the romance part. It did make me stop to wonder though, is he truly 100% over her (which I had been certain he was until that moment)
not gonna lie, I'm kind of sad that we didn't get to see any of Jet as Hans. I was actually kind of excited to see that and idk why, so I felt a little let down by that. I mean, we got to see Kourtney's Let It Go moment (which I loved and she sounded so good) and Carlos singing In Summer, which Frankie Rodriguez absolutely nailed and I loved it. But it would've been really interesting to include the Hans/Anna "if only there was somebody who loved you" scene.
loved the conversation between Big Red and Ashlyn. I realized she was feeling awkward bc she was trying to figure out how to tell him about her summer of discovery but for a full minute I was really confused and thinking she was wanting to break up with him/not feeling it with him cause the dialogue was a little confusing and I was like is this for real??? But then Big Red made his little "you're the one for me" confession and they were both happy so phew not a break up. Also, I love that this storyline showed ppl the concept that you can have a crush but that doesn't mean you don't still love your SO/doesn't take away from your feelings for your SO. not sure why they seemed to forget about this as it could've applied to the Portwell/Rina triangle but okay...
I had so much hope built up for a moment where EJ would get to sing his own emotional ballad, fall apart a little and have a moment, even if it was by himself, like the other characters have gotten and I don't know why I ever thought the writers would think to do that...but yeah I kept hoping for it anyway...when he started to walk away from the group huddle right before Everyday I thought he was gonna burst into a banger of a song as he walked away and then Corbin Bleu started singing and I was like oh, okay I guess we're ignoring EJ's feelings. Also the fact that he was so done he was just going to straight up walk away and no one was like "EJ where are you going?" "come back" "we're proud of you EJ" "how about a round of applause for our director" or "EJ are you okay? you look like you're going through it"
I loved the scene where EJ called his dad, I was starting to think they were just ignoring/had forgotten about that plotline so I was glad to see it given its moment. Matt Cornett did SO good in that scene...the emotion was unmatched and I was tearing up. I liked that Val was there and he wasn't having to deal with it alone, but at the same time...where were his friends? Did none of them notice his dad wasn't there? Gina even asked him about his dad whether he was worried about that and she didn't think to check back in with him about it? Also just the fact that he basically said he only felt comfortable having Val there with him...so he had to squeeze in the phone call during the show so she could be with him and didn't feel like any of his close friends from school would provide the support he needed in that moment? Not Gina, not his so-called "brother", not his fucking actual cousin, not a single one of his best friends that he brought to camp to spend time with???? I hated that the show just...jumped over that with no moment for EJ to tell everyone how they've made him feel. He just had to sit there and put on a brave and happy face for them while he was crumbling. And then the fact that his dad straight up hung up on him??? I knew his dad was a douche canoe but damn. That was harsh. It was really nice to see that little moment between him and Val afterwards, where she just kinda held him and he cried a little. It's pretty brutal though that after that, he had to go back to the show, put his Sven costume back on, and go back on stage AND he did it all without having an emotional breakdown. I really thought he was just going to either straight up not go back to the show at that point (although it makes sense, as a final fuck you to Cash, that he went back and finished what he started extremely well and didn't let his dad see that he had really gotten to him).
Corbin Bleu saying "what team?" really made my HSM loving heart happy and 4th grade me was shaking in her boots. I also kinda love the Corbin Bleu redemption arc (even though it's clearly only bc he's going to be in s4 in a more positive capacity). Although I do find it hard to believe that Corbin kicked Channing out, and likely the entire situation was explained to Disney/the doc producers yet they still allowed Channing to edit the documentary??? Also on this topic- am I really to believe they edited, cut, and produced an entire show in 1 month???????
Kristoff Lullaby...at first I liked it, the way they began it with Ricky singing the words but EJ and Gina sharing meaningful stares from opposite sides of the stage. It started out as such a nice reminder of the very real feelings still lingering between them (despite Ricky being between them and everything that means for them), of the fact that EJ didn't want to break up, and it kind of took me back to the cute friendship they had that they built their relationship on, despite EJ obviously noticing the tension and feelings between Ricky and Gina...and then Ricky had to make eye contact with Gina at the end, and EJ's heartbroken face...he was already sad enough as it is. maybe that look was part of the show? bc in that specific scene in the musical, Kristoff (Ricky) is singing to Anna (Gina)...so maybe that was just choreography and we are all interpreting this incorrectly. I kind of wished they hadn't done that with that song...I was hoping it would be more about Gina and EJ and they would realize they need to have a convo and then talk about things, like how even though they love and care about each other very much they're better off as friends and she should've been honest with him about Ricky, just a simple "I'm really sorry for doing this to you, you don't deserve it...I've been struggling with my feelings for Ricky for a while now and I thought I was over it, I thought you were my person...but now I think you're better off without me, I'm just going to continue breaking your heart because I don't know what I want anymore and I really need to figure that out first before I involve someone else's heart" period. If I was writing this show, I would have added a moment like that for them, so that Rina getting together at the end wouldn't feel so weird and abrupt. Also bc she and EJ never actually got closure (as evidenced by what EJ said/how he reacted in that final scene).
that whole This Is Me moment was kinda weird? I would have liked it more if the entire cast was singing together but it ended up being the little girl's solo with the cast doing back up and it was sort of just a weird sequence. I'm also just salty that they gave the little girl a song and not EJ. What a huge missed opportunity bc they could've written a really amazing ballad for him about being alone (although you're surrounded by ppl/your friends) and about breaking up with Gina, feeling like a failure in your dad's eyes and never living up to anyone's expectations of you, something like "All I wanted was to be good enough for you" or "what do I have to do to be good enough for you?" or "I broke my heart and tore myself apart/trying to make you happy/I destroyed myself for you/burned my house down to keep you warm/now I'm cold and alone/is that good enough for you?" or all of the above building up to an ending of "I'll never be good enough for you/but I tried everything/yeah, I was the best man I know how to be/and that's good enough for me". A golden opportunity and potential completely wasted. I'm so mad. Also, EJ bursting into "When There Was Me And You" would have also slapped (either they should have paused the Kristoff Lullaby scene had him sing it at that point, or the final scene should have been EJ singing it . They really flushed so much potential down the toilet.
Honestly every single song from HSM2 went to waste this season, they could have thrown ALL of them in- Work This Out in the first episode when they all arrived at camp and hated how rustic it is...and can you imagine EJ and Ricky singing I Don't Dance at some point? would have been hilarious. And Gotta Go My Own Way? Would have been PERFECT. Not mention EJ singing Bet On It and getting the angry dance sequence. Soooo many wasted opportunities.
Why did EJ have to do to curtain call in the Sven costume? I thought as the director he'd get to pop after curtain call separately and get separate applause/recognition. Literally every musical and play I've ever been to has had a moment after the cast does their bows where the cast makes sure the director (and tech ppl/crew, and orchestra if there is one) get their own applause from the audience at the end...it's theater etiquette. It's just weird that that didn't happen for EJ, after the big deal they made out of him directing the show. And then literally no one told him "good job" or anything like that, never mind "I'm proud of you"...they were all focused on the actors and congratulating them...and I know they had no way to know what happened with his dad, but I just thought since they all know he's spent the last 2 weeks putting all of his time, effort, and focus into it (and they know about the letter from his dad) that they'd be like "no matter what your dad thinks, we're proud of you" (Gina should have said that!). He didn't even get flowers or any other director thank you gift...just nothing. No one was proud of EJ, no director applause moment or appreciation of any type and I just thought that was messed up. Especially because you know he was already sad knowing he had graduated and they're all going to have a year of school going on without him...and he basically got a preview at camp that they can and will go on without him without even really missing him (and Ricky essentially replaced him). He basically got told by everyone, including his own father that they don't really care about him (not literally just looking at it from his pov). It was just really sad to see and I don't even know what the point of it was? Like what is his storyline from here and what was his storyline from this season supposed to be if it lead up to THAT? He just wants to matter and be important to someone! And it probably doesn't even have to be romantic at this point!
Lastly, the final scene...I found it (and the finale in general) kind of underwhelming? The premiere red carpet thing was weird and it felt like a dream sequence or something, and then from there we jumped into them watching the premiere trailer thing which they all had to know was a load of fake bullshit. I want to know what happened in that one month bc EJ still seemed really angry and upset about Gina, and he was kind of surprised-but-not-surprised by what was revealed about R*na in the trailer. Were they trying to reconcile their friendship or something? Because the look on his face of betrayal and hurt was so sad. I wanted to like the R*na scene, I really did...but it just felt cheap and flat and didn't have the power I wanted their first kiss to have. And the speech she gave....what. the. fuck. So she's been in love with Ricky the whole time (and apparently knew it) which in itself implies she didn't really have those type of feelings for EJ, but then add to that the "you're not a maybe to me" I could not take it seriously after she said that. I think what she meant to say to EJ was "you're a maybe to me, so I'm making up excuses to break up with you". First you have the audacity to piggyback off something EJ said to confess your feelings to Ricky, and then you're gonna say that to him? Was EJ still within earshot? It just felt like Ricky and Gina were putting EJ down (and for what??? it was unnecessary). Also why did I sit through 8 episodes of Ricky freaking out about telling Gina his feelings, being scared to do it, and all the drama about that convo between him and Carlos and him dead set on telling her before the documentary aired for him to NEVER TELL HER his feelings??????
Also remember when we were all arguing about whether it was okay for Ricky to *fake* slap EJ, even if he "deserved it" or whatever? Well I'm glad they let EJ answer that argument for us. He is the bigger person and took the high road, even though no one would have blamed him if he did. I do not know why he called Ricky his "brother" though? Like some brother you've got there. Worse than Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher. Also it just makes everything they did to EJ worse bc camp and the theater are both his second homes (bc his dad sucks) and he frequently refers to the Wildcats as his family, but his "family" doesn't seem to give a shit about him.
Overall, but especially the ending, it all felt weirdly out of character and overly dramatic and like over the top...I know it's always been over the top and dramatic but this felt off and different than usual. It felt like a weird fever dream. I am convinced they were still acting dramatic for the documentary and at the start of next season it will be revealed (Corbin even said they were showing them the trailer before the premiere thing started and people came in to "get their reactions". which makes me believe they were being filmed and they knew it). Idk I just don't know anymore. I do love the concept of season 4 though so I'll probably watch it just for the HSM cast and nostalgia. And also I'm already this invested might as well finish lol

Lore Olympus Fast-Pass thoughts (207)
It's the day after in the Underworld.
Sleeping Beauty kiss, at last <3
What, why isn't it funny, what better thing could he have said?
Go get a fucking doctor you 2.
The parade can come later, your realm has a new queen to celebrate.
Yeah, you know I was wondering about them too?
The shoe drops in 3, 2, 1...
They were with a dog handler? Mighty competent one at that if the dogs are safe and fed after all that Kronos bullshit and only Cerberus got hurt. They deserve a raise.
Meli is still so twiny <3 <3 <3
It's a Bad Bitch Coven up in here (down in here, this is the underworld).
Oh nice, queen makeup time, I want in.
Hey Eros, how's Psyche? No, for real, how is she? WHERE is she? Have you had your child yet???
We are back on Beauty and the Beast it seems.
"What do I do now?!" Have a literal big fat greek wedding then just continue off from where you were before the trial.
Go to Law school, then take every advice these 3 give you with a pinch of salt.
Hades, my bro, by this point you're just spitting whatever comes to your head. Also horses are Poseidon's thing.
For the next 6 months, yeah, you do.
Girl, don't ask that question to Aphrodite, you know her answer, just do what comes naturally.
*digs my asexual nails into Hades' arms* I don't know how to get this through you, but there's more to a relationship -and specifically your relationship- than whether your first time having sex is good.
Yeah, thanks Poseidon.
Will someone please attend Hecate, she's too much of a girlboss for this bullshit!!!
Girl, that's not damage, it just contributes to your aesthetic. But also, huh, nice to have some confirmation on that. It's still odd, though, Persephone is extremely competent at her vegetation goddess job, and she's a fertility goddess at that, how come there was apparently a famine so terrible she had to exert herself to control it?
Compliment of the century, everyone.
Awwwww <3
-time for the hard conversations to take place. *cracks knuckles* Let's put all the cards on the tables, shall we?
On the one hand, technically -and that's a stretched technicality- Kronos' escape was Persephone's fault. Actually it was Minthe's fault, kinda, but in the end there's no point in pointing fingers. It's something that spurred from something tiny that no one could've really prevented -well, the Fates, but I get the feeling they get exempted from intervening- which had unexpected consequences.
One could also maybe put the blame on Hades for not checking on his prisoner? But that is also a big stretch, it's probably not like Kronos' curse affected the underworld citizens before the Big Sleep happened so, again, unless the Fates had warned him there was probably no reason for him to suspect this until it was too late.
On the other hand, Zeus did have a bigger sample size to draw conclusions from and didn't take the plunge until it was almost to late, and even then he did so by explicitly breaching his agreement with Hades. The goddess he publicly dogpiled on made a triumphant ascension and defeated the 3 realm's most hated foe, so even if he could pin some blame on her (which I doubt, because I'm pretty sure he doesn't know) I doubt he's gonna garner much public antipathy against her. Not that it would change anything really, since he no longer holds enough authority over her. But maybe he could still negotiate so that Persephone doesn't publicize that he's been bullshitting about her punishment for the past 10 years? Will he keep the mortal realm separation just to keep that under the wraps? I doubt Perse will accept not seeing her mother now, though. But most crucially to me, how will he handle things now that a Fertility Goddess child is possible?
Remember, however, that even if it turns out he's not concerned about that last thing, it doesn't mean that my theory is disproven.
Moving on, Apollo ( >:D <- that's my petty face) is not going to be happy about this, nor is Leto. I wouldn't put it past Apollo to pull out the rape card to try to prevent the wedding, but unless there's some bullshit rule we don't know about yet that seems like a spectacularly stupid and pointless move to try, so I doubt that will happen. Their next move remains a mystery to me.
Assuming I'm right about Hestia, based on how calm she seems r/n I guess she feels like the worst is over and there's no need/ point in hiding Perse's fertility goddess status now? I'll see if Perse leaving TGOEM is ever addressed. Maybe Demeter will have a talk with her and we'll get more info.
This leaves Thetis, who only has an indirect stake on this marriage, but still. As far as we've seen her only 2 friends are in the mortal realm, Thanatos has definitely moved on to better things, and I assume so has Minthe. Not much she can do now except pray that Zeus will open his bed more often now that Hera is awake but still unlikely to go back to him, especially once she finds out about those 10 years of bullshit, and even then we all know how that ends for her.

Shipping bingo meme: Ayato clearly isn't one of your shipping faves, but I'm curious what the bingo cards would look like for ayato+each member of dckz
HI DEAR THANK U alskdfklsdf oddly enough i do like ayato, but ur right he's not up there lmao dckz-based ships have me in a vice grip sfjlkldsf
ayaluc:

okay, hear me out: two distinguished gentleman turning to a life of underhanded secrecy to keep peace in their land and protect it from harm. act with infallible decorum on the surface. only a trusted confidant (and antithesis to their own personality) is aware of their machinations behind the scenes. they are the same. thus, i think they'd have a but of a sibling dynamic, but in the sense of like. diluc deeply respecting ayato for what he does though finding his duplicity a little...underhanded, ayato finding diluc's approach charming if a bit brute-force. they both kinda find it attractive, though, in a 'the idea of placing myself in danger is very intriguing' kind of way. whores lmao
ayakaeya (sorry that's just funny lmao):
Tumblr media
characters who lie and manipulate for the good of those around him, one whose machinations built the foundation of his success and stability while the other had his home and family from beneath him due to machinations he had no control over. there would be SUCH good animosity between them, tension so thick u would need a cleaver just to make a dent in it, but the hatesex is GREAT u know it is lmao
ayachi:
Tumblr media
u know what i'm just mad we didn't get to see mr worldwide ajax tartaglia childe as the fatui trying to deal with ayato in his trailer. ahem. anyway, ayato keeping childe as his pet harbinger for murder reasons. for some reason, this only works for me as an ot3 with thoma included - the sweet and gentle man who can make anything happen and charm anyone into making things go his way, the ruthless battlesexual fatui who takes care of whatever can't be handled diplomatically, and the man behind them both pulling the strings
ayazhong:
Tumblr media
battle of wits from the start. they're both playing five-dimensional time travel chess and neither has won yet, but they're thrilled to have finally met a worthy opponent. i'm gonna go out on a limb and say i wouldn't go out of my way to ship this romantically tbh, but i wouldn't be opposed either. ayato knows zhongli is hiding something. zhongli drops hints like his fuckin meteor, so obvious that anyone in liyue would've picked up on it by now. somehow, this is a blind spot for ayato. thoma figures it out while observing their very first actual (regular, 3 dimensional, linear timeline) chess match. he says nothing to ayato bc he assumes this is 1. already known by ayato and 2. forbidden knowledge, and if he finds out, he might be in like. celestial levels of trouble
thank u for this one this was fun lmaoooo
send me genshin ships to bingo!

Chapter 51 review
Hehehe...love the Sebek, Silver, and Kalim conversation especially Sebek reacting about Kalim's jeans. I'm sure there will be more of this conversation with Jamil joining in.
Man Silver and Sebek tries their best to avoid Lilia from cooking. Sweet for them to have a talk about their families and cooking. I can tell Kalim is jealous given his family isn't like anything despite the care within.
Hehe...clothes. Yeah Lilia being the casual one while his children are in formal attire. Riddle being embarrassed on what he wear.
Malleus waiting for the day reenact his revenge against the tweels. Sorta deserve it.
Yeah Malleus and Leona being sorta friends does sound interesting. Imagine they have to force to be near together since Ruggie and Yuu are close friends.
The Impending Doom having a conversation with kalim regarding Jamil's last sighting with Leona and Riddle agreeing on this topic.
I see they still have issues regarding about Jamil working in Monstro Lounge. I mean I can't blame the tweels since he started before the group was form and the contracts.
Floyd being the one to suggestion and knocking down Jamil is so him. If this was a normal overblot, maybe. But since this is the work of the djiin, it's impossible.
I guess Kalim didn't explain the things Jamil done while also the deeds he did. I'm sure it would complicated things even more especially once they learn Jamil is responsible for Silver's traumatic experience and the poison.
Bye Kalim, be safe.
Leona being the straight-forward lion that he needs to be.
I love how everyone agrees that the djiin is a coward. They are right. Djiin may be the biggest manipulator but he wouldn't get this far without help. He wouldn't have the lamp without Aladdin, he wouldn't have thought of marrying Jasmine without Iago suggesting it, and he wouldn't steal the lamp without Iago. He also let Aladdin survive from the river only to be captured by the guards in second movie because of his pride on wanting his death to be humiliating. He also wouldn't get this far without Abis Mal and Iago. In a way, he wouldn't done this so far without anyone including the Genie which he is the one why he is a sorcerer and genie.
Poor Silver, he wanted to respect Kalim's wish yet everyone including Chance rather let Jamil die if the possibility happened. Silver really is a Disney princess and wanted to do everything to save everyone.
If Chance is Yassin, then I understand how he feels about saving his cousin from Jamil who is a lying snake.
I wonder what the djiin's lair is like? Maybe something like the cave of wonders or the royal palace.
Makes me wonder why Chance didn't want the two princes to know. I mean I'm sure they wouldn't mind keeping the secrets regarding about Genie.
Not sure if the magic carpet is the same one in the movie.
Man how heartbreaking that Kalim is sending those videos incase he dies. This gives me Ai's videos before she died by the stalker. Imagine the rest seen the videos after they survive winter break, cries yet relief. Vil and Rook aren't gonna be happy given how they are out of context they are in. Man can't wait to see his video to Jamil.
Another backstory to which the reason why Crowley is hated by everyone. The fact they are discussing about being the hosuewardens or not. He really is stuck in a mental prison.
That's rough, buddy - Yuu referencing Zuli.
Azul wonders how Idia and Yuu end up being friends is crazy for him.
Necromancy card did kinda help Jamil and Kalim's relationship...sorta.
Up with Silver being the main hero. Funny how Silver is kinda the disney prince while Kalim is the disney princess with Jamil being the disney villain. Hahahahaha! Time to steal the magic carpet! Hope Silver doesn't get caught by Jamil.
Poor grandpa asim, I'm sure he is a better parental figure than his own dad. Seriously, why is he such an asshole?
-🧋
Jamil may pull Sebek's legs a little over it but yeah, fun time in perspective. The clothes thing and the cooking were the best way I could find to lighten the mood a bit. God knows that chapter needed it!
Malleus is bidding his time, after all he knows he has plenty of it. However on the friendship with Leona I dunno if he would see it that way. Leona sure as all would slit his own throat with a rusty spoon before using that word to describe their relationships. Too bad for them, facts says otherwise.
Kalim didn't share any 'unnecessary' details with them, which was rather smart since they're already planning on beating the Djinn out of him now, they don't need more motivation.
While the others are not wrong they shouldn't be overlooking Kalim's wishes. Only Silver seemed to accept them as important as Kalim's survival. Poor guy however doesn't know where to find others to help him out. Not even a guy from RSA is willing to prioritize the save everyone road. Or rather the let's not traumatized Jamil more road.
Chance doesn't know Leona and Malleus personally, and their rep isn't exactly the greatest. You have second scariest mofo on Earth Malleus (1st one being his grandma) and shady second prince of the Sunset Savanna. Also even if he knew them, it doesn't change the facts that's it's politics and the Scalding Sands would be in a more than difficult situation if other countries learned that they had the Genie as a close ally and that their member of the Great 7 had become a corrupt Djinn with an eye for world domination. Nope, that would be catastrophic!
It's not the same carpet, it was stated in game it's just a copy. Unfortunately Yassin didn't manage to convince his family to let him borrow the real one.
Yeah, the videos are the nice little knife twisting that this story needed for the last stretch! I'm glad I came up with it. However, for Jamil's video, of course you won't see it anytime soon, what's the fun with that? XD
For Crowley, I just extended the scene from the game and mixed it up for the second timeline. I wanted for the other Jamil a good reason to feel frustrated. I don't feel like anyone is going to argue against that one now!
I had to make a that's rough buddy joke somewhere in this! Might as well use it here! Also Azul is missing all the context, but as soon as he'll hear Ortho's name it should clear everything up! And it wasn't necromancy for JamiKali! It's not allowed by DA RULEZ! It's a time reversal card rather? Though I don't remember if they have one like that in Unstable Unicorns... I think there's one that turns your unicorns into infants unicorns but I'm not sure and my friend is the ones who owns the game so I can't check myself. ^^;
Also Silver is definitely the prince here but don't worry Sebek, he's not ending up with the Princess this time!

What do you think about unrequited!destiel, where cash is in live with dean but dean only had eyes for Sam (kinda like canon ig)
But take it a step further, (if Sam and dean were actually a couple) imagine Cas getting fed up and trying to get Sam out of the picture so he can have dean all to himself
Imagine Cas kidnapping Sam and then going back to dean like "🥺 I don't know what happened" and trying to play the "in the victim too" card but all dean can care about is trying to get back to Sam
(Dean eventually finds out that Cas had something to do with sams disappearance when the angel offhandedly mentions something)
Omg lol anon it's so funny that you send this right now because I was just ruminating on unrequited!destiel the other night but didn't post cuz it felt like I've been mean to Cas lately. 😅 The ways cas gets really twisted if you look at his actions throughout the series from the perspective of unrequited love -- or, dare I say, yandere!Cas.
I like the kidnapping scenario, but also that's essentially what happened with soulless!Sam. In canon we're told Cas didn't know he left the soul behind but -- angels can see demons' true face, which is their corrupted soul, just by looking at them. If so, why couldn't Cas tell Sam's soul was gone? Further, why did he have to torturously reach into Sam's chest to find out? Sus af.
Why did he tell Dean to leave Sam's soul in Hell???
Answer: Cas caught feelings and one of those feelings was jealousy. He and Dean have a profound bond and Sam, the Abomination, keeps getting in the way!
So in a wincest scenario, I can definitely see Castiel taking advantage of a situation to get Sam out of the way. Maybe it happens during the s9 breakup, after Sam finds out about Gadreel; it's easier because Sam is by himself. Cas is still bitter Dean chose Sam over him during the Zeke/Gadreel days and wouldn't let Cas stay in the bunker. So then he's reasoning to himself, well sam doesn't even want or appreciate dean even though dean always chooses him. He offers his help on a case to Sam. Maybe Crowley helps with the kidnap cuz he has a thing for Sam after the trials.
Castiel insinuates himself into every instance of alone-time Dean has, playing dumb about his interruptions and offering, "I'm here for you, Dean," all meaningfully with a hand on Dean's shoulder that Dean frowns at, kinda bewildered. Cas gets bolder and bolder until he forces a kiss on Dean to "distract him from his worries//i know you need this" and tries to touch/undress him. Dean pushes him away, but still thinks it's just Cas being his weird little 'helpful' self and not conniving.
Dean's getting more and more uncomfortable with Castiel's misplaced advances, though, and tries to explain to Cas that he needs to stop. But Cas tries out a sad puppy look he's been practicing and he's like, "i just keep thinking about what those demons did to me and i thought you could make it stop." But it backfires cuz dean is immediately worrying about Sam being tortured.
Dean and Castiel havent found any signs of Sam beyond the demon case Cas 'helped' him with, so Dean summons Crowley. Crowley says that he thinks Abaddon must've had Sam kidnapped and takes Dean to get the Mark. But Castiel didn't know until after, and he's angry at Crowley and forgets to choose his words wisely and he's like, "this isn't what we agreed to. You're supposed to leave dean to ME. You already got Sam."
And the only reason Dean doesn't kill them both is because he doesn't have the first blade yet.

𝐇𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
It's late at night when Damian makes a stop by your house with the intention to confess his feelings for you.
Damian Wayne x Black!Reader, gender neutral.
Words: 2,105
AN: Happy Valentine’s to all the beautiful black people in the fandom!! I dedicate this one to all of us, who rarely get any works that include us or are actually vague enough to. Hope you enjoy it 💞
Tumblr media
It was a quiet, cold night in Gotham. Neon city lights blurred into your room as the muffled sounds of the videogame on the old TV kept you company, the blue hue of the fluorescent lights washing over your bedroom even through half-pulled curtains.
The day had been a slow and uneventful one. For you, at least, after the hope of receiving someone's valentine had been completely blown off, the same energy manifesting itself in you as the night also dragged itself along.
You almost jumped out of your skin at the sound of your window opening, having had no expectations of anything more for the day –that, and the fact that it was well into the night already. You saw Damian standing outside with his hand on the window sill, a bag in the other, Robin uniform dirty and tattered as his cape fluttered violently with the breeze.
He seemed stuck in his place, as if he had been the one surprised, frowning like he hadn't expected you in your own room.
The slight semblance of a smile grew on your face, "Well, come in," you said, pausing the game.
It wasn't uncommon for Damian to stop by your building after a busy night, the moon shining beautifully in the sky and the clouds a beautiful swirl of the light as he came through your window expertly quiet. But, even then with the known comfortability and trust you two had managed to reach in your relationship, it also wasn't uncommon to feel like remnants of the younger, more insecure Damian still clung to him slightly.
Slightly as in  heavily.
You watched him as he moved into the small space and set down the bag on the floor, taking off his gloves and mask with the rough delicacy you associated with him.
He stood as if he was tightly wound up, like perhaps he could breathe wrong, or whatever new, unspoken rule he'd created for himself plagued his mind now.
It was a little funny.
"I'm not going to eat you, you know?"
Damian rolled his eyes, "I'm aware."
"Doesn't look like it," You muttered, glancing down at the controller in your hands, "What's in the bag anyways?"
"I— Things."
You raised a brow.
"Food, sweets. Drinks."
"Really?"
"Yes," Damian replied, sitting down and sagging against the wall underneath the windowsill, chest rising and falling slowly as he exhaled deeply. Damian grabbed the bag again, putting it down next to you, "They're yours."
You set aside the controller and rummaged through the bag, the thoughts racing in your head. Damian knew you well and you him, your friendship spanning over a few years now. There had been a lot you'd trusted him with. Secrets, worries, embarrassing shit you'd done that still haunted you and Damian had been no different. He let you in on his bigger secret, how he carried the mantle of Robin every night. Some of his deepest remorses were ones that you had knowledge of; although never diving too deep in the murky waters of Damian’s life, you still valued the clear trust he had in you.
And along all these moments, every opportunity you've had to know each other, slowly and softly peeling aside the layers covering the people you were, a warm intimacy rooted itself in your growing friendship. A comfortable sort of intimacy.
Every once in a while you stopped by the manor on the quiet days where it was only Alfred and the animals. You helped Alfred in the kitchen whenever he was practicing for a new recipe or baking a dessert for the family later in the day. You spent hours with Damian in his room, where his cat Alfred would always curl up next to you on his bed as he worked on his art, walking around the manor or playing around with Titus and Batcow in the manor's backyard –which, really, was just an enormous open field that they were too humble to call so– and sometimes you'd even earn an invitation to dinner.
As for you, Damian tended to visit at night more so than day, but there were moments where he would show up on a sunny afternoon when everyone else wasn't home, slumping down on your couch for an hour or two before going back to his own things. Sometimes he'd drop by books he'd seen at the library, a small trinket he'd bought at the store and various other paraphernalia that, somehow, you always ended up loving.
Damian knew your taste well, and there was no doubt he'd spend countless amounts of time pondering over each of his gifts before they ever reached your hands. All things that while anyone else might have brushed over you appreciated immensely.
"You know," you began as you leaned back into the foot of your bed, ripping off pieces from a napkin you'd taken out of the bag, buying time. Hesitating, "I actually— sort of, was hoping for a valentine this year."
You gazed at Damian's eyes, your interest boring into them, digging as deep as you were allowed. They looked nervous, hilariously so. Almost like he'd been caught. But caught... doing what, exactly?
Perhaps caught in the middle of staring back at you as he'd tend to do; how he'd tend to do and assumed you didn't notice.
Or maybe caught when he would discreetly drop off something in your room or your locker after having seen it at the store or the cafeteria and knowing immediately you'd like it, always behind the guise of simple complacency. Caught, in his true intentions, what truly made him do all these otherwise insignificant things that were much too small even for somebody as detail-driven as Damian.
Olive-colored eyes still shifted uncomfortably in front of you as the sole giveaway of the true nervousness Damian was drowning in, refusing to show anything more of himself, even when it mattered.
Especially when it mattered. It was frustrating.
"You were?"
"Yeah," You shifted in your spot, "I was."
No one could ever, ever know something about Damian that he didn't share. It's just not something you could do. Not when it came to him. Anybody who knew anything at all about who Damian Wayne is, at his core in existence, knows it only because he's allowed them to.
And he'd allowed you to know this too, and yet now he was hesitating.
"You wished to have... a valentine. Anyone?"
"Anyone."
"You could have, easily, if you wanted it," Damian rolled his eyes.
"I could?" You smiled, and the twinkle in your eyes was nothing short of mischievous.
"Yes."
"Reeeally. How?"
Damian slouched against the wall, "Well, you'd simply have to ask," he said it as if it had been an obvious fact, "I'm sure anyone at the academy would've said yes."
Your smile widened as you raised your brows, "Oh?"
Damian frowned, "You are making fun of me."
"What do you mean? How."
Damian crossed his arms as you laughed.
"You think I'm making fun of you," you protested, "I'm not."
"TT."
"There's something you want to say, isn't there? Just spit it out, Damian."
Damian's eyes lingered all over the room. His hands had started to sweat a while ago and by then, his heart had sped up so much he was sure it was making some attempt at breaking through and out of his chest.
Originally, his plan had been to drop by and bring you a gift, but then he'd gotten nervous and internally malfunctioned, because he'd bought a double of everything so that you wouldn't assume it had been a gift and instead just him coming by to hang out like he always did.
He had planned to come by, tell you he'd... harbored a few unwanted feelings towards you and hoped you would have been tired enough that you wouldn't have realized it, but clearly, his plan had flipped over backwards and blown up in his face.
Damian took as deep a breath as possible with his collar putting him in a choke hold, as if trying to push out his words while simultaneously wanting to keep them buried the deepest he could.
"I— hm," He stared intently at the floor, for the first time in a while feeling like the small child who would trip over his own emotions again, but he was resolved to tell you, "I like you. I suppose."
It hadn't been surprising to Damian. More that it was hard to accept. He'd mulled over it for a long, long time. In fact, the reason he'd visited you tonight, made up his mind to tell you so, had been his ridiculously embarrassing performance.
Being surprised by petty thieves and thrown out of the loop by measly codes, none of which happen, ever, not to him at least. Damian was far above such childish mistakes, at least so he thought until he started taking a closer look at his own thoughts and realized your eyes had gone from brown to 'beautiful pools of honey', your skin a beautiful, shining shade of brown.
He was an artist, after all. He'd spent afternoons studying his environment, the shapes and colors, how everything fit in together; you were no stranger to his thoughts.
Which of course, you wouldn't know. If you had, you would have taken the jump much earlier. You would have never acted based off of assumption alone, but having the confirmation, well.
By now you had to contain your smile because surely, surely, your cheeks would be sore afterwards.
"Wow," you raised your brows in obvious mocking, "Really?"
Damian scrunched up his face in disgust, like he'd witnessed the most foul thing yet, crossing his arms tighter but refusing to meet your gaze as he turned to the wall.
"You know, Damian."
"Yes?"
"The valentine I was hoping for this year… was yours. You could've easily made a card and thrown some glitter over it and that would be the end of that."
"A card, with glitter?" Damian snapped his head at you, seeming almost bored as he spoke in a deadpan voice, "Is that how lowly you think of me?"
At this you did laugh, almost too loudly for one in the morning, that you had to push both your hands against your mouth.
Damian frowned, "Please do know that if I were to ever make something so miserable, it must be because I've been replaced. Which would not happen. Ever."
You stood, shuffling over to Damian and sitting down next to him.
He looked pretty underneath the moonlight coming through the window, the curls over his forehead looking soft and shiny.
Damian looked right into your eyes, for the first time that night not looking away, he was trapped now. Not truly, he could leave, but did he want to? Not at all.
Softly, Damian touched your hand, something perhaps akin to fear in his eyes as if he still expected rejection.
"Damian?"
"Hm?"
"I'm going to kiss you."
"Oh."
"Unless you don’t want me to."
"Please do. I mean—"
It was a shy and quick kiss, but so, so exciting as Damian's grip tightened around your hand and you leaned into him.
When you leaned away, it was with a mischievous glint in your eyes.
"Please do—"
Damian frowned again, clearly not amused. After a few seconds though, your laugh died out. Truth is, your stomach was churning. Because, while you were very much happy and excited, you were also incredibly nervous.
Both of you were stitching your thoughts back together, seconds of silence passing by. You were still holding Damian's hand.
He closed his eyes, frown deepening considerably and quickly before he spoke, vile spilling out of his mouth, "A card? With some glitter thrown over it?"
He looked downright furious, disgusted even.
"Seriously?"
"It's not that big of a deal," You chuckled, "Get over it."
"Hm."
Damian looked out the window, and you followed, the moon standing beautifully in the middle of the sky.
Damian sighed, "I have to go."
"Oh... okay."
He didn't move. Neither of you did.
Damian gave you a quick kiss again, looking absolutely scandalized when he pulled back. You stared at each other in complete disbelief before he stood up and started putting his gloves on again.
He pressed his hands onto the windowsill and took a deep breath.
Damian looked at you, tenderly, "Goodnight, Y/N."
"Goodnight, Damian." You smiled.
Damian gave you a small smile, "Hm."
You watched as he jumped off, grappling to the nearest building and laughed when you saw him standing still before disappearing into the night.

song: driver’s license by olivia rodrigo
word count: 2.5k
genre + warnings: angst; swearing, fear of driving, reminiscing in old memories
pronouns used: she/her
a/n: this was orignially supposed to just be an imagine inspired by the song, not apart of the song series but it fits too well to not change oikawa’s song. i also wrote this for @kybabi bc i love her :D n e wayz enjoy :) (part 2)
"So here you're going to turn and he'll make you do a parallel park in the street. You remember how to do that right?" Oikawa asked as he guided you to the next turn. As you turn the steering wheel, you spot a crowded curbside.
"No, can you please please park for me? I hate parallel parking," You pleaded.
"Only because you asked so nicely," He teased.
Ever since you told your best friend that you wanted to learn how to drive, Oikawa never let it go whenever you wanted to hang out. Having you drive him around for practice and giving you tips as you went. He's helped you a ton while you drove around, the only issues you had were parallel parking and merging onto the highway.
"Maybe we should try the highway again," Oikawa said after you two switched seats.
"Are you asking for a death wish?" You joked. "I drive too slow and I'm scare to merge into lanes."
"We can practice on smaller freeways if you want," He asks.
"No," You growled.
It was always a terrifying thing to drive on the highway. You always saw those horrid accidents and feared being in one. Oikawa would always put his hand on your thigh as you merged to calm you down. Just having him be there was enough to get you to get onto the highway. All your fears just faded with him beside you.
Just having this intimate driving lesson with him was enough for you. You grew to fall in love in your best friend. A cliché thing, yet you couldn't say anything. Only you and your girl friends knew about your big crush. It was a funny thing, falling for your childhood best friend. Iwaizumi always joked about you doing so but you never admitted to liking Oikawa. What would that do to your friendship?
Today was the day, it was your test day. The scariest thing you anticipated was finally here. The thing you practiced days on end with Oikawa. The thing that could either make or break you. Today, you'd either come out with your license or you'll be walking home.
The nerves crept up your body like spiders leaving a trail of anxiety webs. You bounced you leg as you waited in the lobby looking out for your driving instructor. As your sweaty palms go to check the time, you notice a text message from Oikawa.
butthead: hey! good luck on your test today!
That's what cooled you down. A simple saying of good fortune will help, right? Sure enough, the test was a breeze, minus the parallel parking as it was the one mistake you got. You happily drove home to tell the news to your parents.
"Have you told Tooru yet?" Your mom asked.
"I'll wait until my actual driver license to prove to him I got it," You smiled.
"You like him don't you?" Your mom gestured to the joy on your face. "I can tell."
"No," You looked away from your mom as she raised her eyebrow. "Okay, maybe but you can't say anything. I'm going to my room now." She chuckled as you dragged you feet to your room.
Two weeks passes and you finally received your license in the mail. You smiled happily down at your new card as you walked outside the school building. You looked up to search for your best friend. Your eyes scanned the courtyard before landing on Iwaizumi. Assuming Oikawa was nearby, you headed towards him.
"Hey Iwa, where's Oiks?" You asked. Iwaizumi raised up his hand and pointed across to the gate. You looked over to find Oikawa talking to Kasumi, a classmate of yours.
"He's asking her to go on a date with him again," Iwaizumi says.
Again? He's done it before?
"Are they dating?" You ask.
"Not yet, Oikawa wants to ask her to be his girlfriend on the date," Iwa explains. "What's that?" He points to your hands as you fiddled with the corner of your driver's license.
"Oh," You said solemnly. "I got my license."
You waved goodbye to your childhood friend before going into he parking lot. Without thinking, you started the car and just began to drive. Out of the school and onto who knows where. Your mind grew blank as you drove.
How could he not mention Kasumi to you? He used to tell you everything but lately he'd been so distant. Maybe that's why he hasn't texted you all week, you thought. Who could blame him for liking Kasumi? She's so pretty and not to mention how smart she is. She's the class representative and she's one of the nicest girls around.
You fell for the one man you shouldn't have. It was too late to even confess how you felt. He was already falling for another while you were left behind. You felt a sharp pain in your chest as you drove by familiar buildings.
The laundromat where you and Oikawa would go to help with the laundry. You both would end up messing around and your parents would have to kick you two out. You and Oikawa would go across the street to the convenience store to buy steamed buns.
He doesn't like you.
The library where you would wait for Oikawa to finish practice so you two could study together. He'd bring you a bottle of tea and some sort of snack to keep you from burning out. Those study dates where you'd stay until the library was closed.
Give up, stop thinking of him.
The ramen restaurant where Oikawa would take you if he won a game. It was a great celebration and you two had made so many memories there. You two had gone there so often, he convinced the owner that you were his girlfriend.
Let him go.
All the feelings you had for him began to ache in your heart as you reminisced in the memories. You gripped tighter on the wheel as you saw an highway exit. "Fuck," You whispered as you merged into the fast lane. Suddenly all those fears you had of driving, just disappeared. You felt this peace as your eyes locked on the long highway. It was like, nothing hurt anymore. Your tensed shoulders relaxed, yet you felt tears roll down your cheeks. You took deep breaths as you drove attempting to stop your tears.
Soon enough, driving on the highway had shifted from a phobia to an escape. Everyday after school, rather than meeting up with Oikawa and Iwaizumi before practice, you'd drive on the highway and on backroads. It was the only thing that kept you sane when you see Kasumi with Oikawa together.
You became accustomed to the fast pace of the highways. Occasionally you'd speed if you felt some type of pain grow in your chest. You'd blast music to drown out any thoughts or feelings you had. You knew Oikawa could never be yours, so why bother crying over him, right? The thought of being around him began to make you uncomfortable. If you kept your distance, you wouldn't get hurt. You wouldn't be considered a distraction.
butthead: hey?
you: what's up?
butthead: it's been a while since i've seen you :( i miss my best friend
you: are you sure you mean to text me or iwa?
butthead: you, y/n i miss hanging with you
butthead: you didn't come to the restaurant after our game
you: i was busy, sorry
butthead: :(
you: i gotta go, ill talk to you later
Oikawa sighed at his phone and looked across the table to Iwaizumi. "Have you talked to Y/n lately?" He asked.
"Yeah, she borrowed gas money from me," Iwa says before slurping his noodles.
"Gas money? She got her license?" Oikawa tilts his head. "How long has it been?"
"A month? You got caught up with Kasumi," Iwaizumi says.
"Hmph," Oikawa huffed as he sipped his drink. He'd been spending so much time with Kasumi that he forgot about you. Or was it, you started to forget about him? He glances at the window behind Iwa and noticed a familiar car parking.
You parked your car across the street of the restaurant next to a convenience store. You quickly got out and went into the store looking for something to drink. As you began to scan the fridge, you heard the door open. "Y/n?" You turned to find Oikawa.
"What are you doing here?" You turned back to grab a soda.
"Iwa came to eat with me since you didn't make it," Oikawa says. "He's still there, did you want to join us?"
"No thanks, I'm kinda busy at the moment," You say dully. Oikawa goes to speak but you had already walked to go pay for your drink. "Later Oikawa."
"Oikawa?" He watched as you left the store and into your car. He follows suit and watched you speed off. Oikawa quickly makes his way back to the restaurant and seats himself disgruntled. "Y/n called me Oikawa..."
"That's your name isn't it?" Iwaizumi raised his eyebrow.
"She always calls me Oiks or Ru, never Oikawa," He says. "Did I do something wrong?"
Iwaizumi shrugged even though he knew the answer well enough. After Oikawa had asked Kasumi to be his girlfriend, your demeanor had changed. Iwa was the first to notice too. Typically, after school you'd see the duo before practice started, yet since you learnt Oikawa had eyes for another, you stopped.
One day, Iwaizumi decided to follow after you when school was over. He trailed behind as you walked to your car door. You pulled open the door handle only for Iwa to shut the door immediately after. You turned to find Iwaizumi with scrunched eyebrows. "What's wrong with you?" He asked. "Why haven't you came by before practice?"
"No reason, I'm just busy," You lied.
"Liar, what's wrong?" He asks yet you remained silent. "I won't tell Shittykawa just tell me why you're being so distant...and also why your eyes are always puffy."
You paused before answering, "I'm just...upset with Oikawa...and Kasumi.."
"Do you..?" Iwaizumi implied. You nod and looked at the ground. "What have you been doing since you found out about them?"
"Driving," You sighed. "Just driving...It's keep me off my mind all week. I bear the fact that he looks so happy with her and not...me. God I'm so stupid."
"Don't say that-" Iwa started but you immediately lashed out.
"It's true! I was too late to confess! And I fell for the one boy I can't have!" You felt tears well up in your eyes. "I can't even drive by certain places without getting upset. I take backroads and I avoid them completely. I hate driving by his house but it's the only way to my own. He just treats me like another fucking fan girl! I'm just so stupid for falling for my best friend." Since that day, Iwaizumi kept to his promise. Not word about your feelings were said to Oikawa.
butthead: hey are you busy right now ?
you: no, what's up?
butthead: can you help me with something?
you: depends
butthead: meet me at the library so i can tell you more :)
You locked you phone and tossed it into your passenger's seat. You looked up to see the light change to green, allowing you to speed into the highway. Your hands rested at the bottom of the wheel as you drove. The slow, lo-fi music surrounded your car as you drove which let you get out of your trapped mind.
It was a crazy thought to think that you and Oikawa were so excited to drive together. Yet now all you want to do is drive alone. You turned up the volume of your music as you merged into your neighborhood. You leaned further back into your seat as you were driving around the suburbs. You glance at the white cars lining one street leading to the library. You scoffed at the sight as a repressed memory resurfaced.
"Why do you like white cars so much?" You chuckled.
"Because they look clean and nice? Sorry I don't like your basic silver car," Oikawa raised his hand to block your face.
"I'm basic? Says the one who wants an automatic," You pretend to throw up to mock him.
"For someone who can't drive yet, you talk big," Oikawa pats your head only to be smacked a few seconds late. Oikawa drapes his arm over you as you walked down the street to the library The entire walk was filled with mocking and talking about the future. "Let me teach you how to drive, that way we could go out together more."
You finally arrived at the library, spotting Oikawa before parking the car. He watches as you easily parallel park and is stunned by how casual you are as you drove. You set out and approach him. Oikawa holds out a snack to you but you politely refuse.
"Let's go inside?" He asks. You shrugged and followed him in. Rather than sitting beside him like usual, you sat across from him. You still had those feelings for him but you couldn't stand sitting next to him. Your heart was pounding out of your chest as you anticipated his next words. "I was wondering if you could help me with Kasumi?"
Ouch.
"With what?" You ask.
"I want to give her a gift, right?" He starts. "A gift that goes along with me telling her I love her."
He loves her?
Your heart aches but you decide to move past that. "Isn't it a bit early to say I love you?"
"Well, we were long time friends before we started dating and I feel like it's the right time to, y'know?" Oikawa leans forward on the table. "Can you help me find a gift?"
This feels familiar. Helping him find a gift for a girl that isn't you. It seems like anytime he does have a crush he'd come to you for advice. This is the first time that you didn't want to give into his favors.
"No," You sighed.
"No? Wait why not?" He raised his eyebrows at you.
"Because," Say it. "Because I-"
"Because?" Oikawa tilts his head at your response.
"Because I can't keep doing things like this for you," You stood up and began heading for the entrance. Oikawa followed afterwards as he could see the pain in your voice.
"Y/n, talk to me, we haven't talked in forever. Tell me what's wrong," He says as you exit the library. You ignore his voice and reached for your car door. He grabs your arm but you shove him off.
"Would you just- leave me alone?" You snapped. "I don't want to help you, okay?"
"What did I do?" Oikawa was beyond confused at your response.
"I- You- Ugh! Just go away, I don't want to see you!" Your voice cracked as the suppressed feelings began to rise again.
"Why not!" Oikawa grabbed your arm again, this time you weren't able to break free.
"Because I fucking loved you idiot!" You yelled. Hot tears streamed down your cheeks as you stopped struggling in his hold. Oikawa paused and stared at you in wonder.
"You...loved me?" He asked.
"I still fucking love you! God, I hate you- I just- Let go!" You pulled off him. "I'm leaving. If you try to stop me, I'm never speaking to you again." You wiped your tears as you entered your car. Driving off into the neighborhood, crying at the red lights knowing you could've ruined your whole friendship.
Oikawa watched as you sped off. Those words lingered in his ear as he stared down at his hand where you let go. His mind was lost in thought, how could his best friend love him? Was he that blind that he couldn't see your admiration? "She...loves me?" He thought.

Tumblr media
I have arrived at the Yashahime is Over Party! I never, ever wanted a sequel, I was much happier with my own opinions and headcanons as to what happened after the show was over. (As I'm sure many fans were.) InuYasha has always been this great, big sandbox, where you can do whatever you want. Yashahime basically came in and stomped on everybody's fun time, so now I'm just trying to rebuild what I had! This rewrite isn't exactly my thoughts to a T on what I think should have happened at the end, rather, I tried to keep in mind the premise of Yashahime and just... fix it!
I know that my likes and opinions tend to be a bit disjointed from the rest-- for example, I LOVED the filler episodes. To this day, some of my favorite episodes that I go back to rewatch have been filler. I like slow and steady, I like lots and lots of dialogue. But Yashahime? Not like this. Never like this. For my rewrite, this is no longer a fantasy romance action adventure whatever. This is slice of life.
Tumblr media
For my rewrite, Moroha becomes the main character. The story follows her as she travels around Japan, basically meeting old friends of her folks, and meeting some new ones along the way. InuKag and MirSan live generally happy, peaceful lives, with the Root Head demon being the last of their major problems for a long while.
I love the idea that with InuYasha and Kagome being a committed couple in an "unusual" relationship with an "unusual" daughter, Kaede's village over time becomes a safe haven for weak demons, half demons, and like-minded humans. It expands into a vast and bustling town, with plenty of colorful characters in addition.
Sango spends a lot of her day training Hisui and Gyokoto. She doesn't go out herself much anymore, and has basically passed the torch to her children and, of course, younger brother. Her time is mostly spent now creating and repairing weapons, though her real passion is in experimenting with fabrics to create stronger, more resistant material. Miroku continues to travel (so long as he stops by to say hello to his wife once and awhile) alongside his daughter Kin'u, who basically apprentices under him. He's so proud of who she's become.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moroha is at that age where she longs to see the world outside their humble home. She packs her things, says goodbye to her mom and dad, and sets off. I can totally see her keeping the bounty hunter job as it would be a great way for her to make money on her own. And with her being loved and reasonably fed, whenever she loses a head, it can *actually* be funny. She still uses the rouge to become Beniyasha in tough times, but without the red pearl. (No pearls in this, the pearls are stupid.) She made a promise with her momma to only use the rouge in DIRE situations, since it can be dangerous. Of course, she's looked over by grandpa Myoga... and Shippo!
Tumblr media
Shippo is much older now, but given that he's a demon (and I do subscribe to the demons age slower HC, despite the shit I give it) he appears to be around, or a little younger than Moroha. They're about equal in power which means they have to work together a lot to get out of sticky situations. They act as brother and sister since Shippo was basically adopted by InuKag, so there's no romance between them. It's purely familial.
Over the course of the series, Moroha meets old characters, both filler and canon, from the OG series. (Some Shippo recognizes, some he doesn't.) They help out with whatever problem-of-the-week is going on, as the episodes are primarily laid back and focused more on character interaction and development. They meet old faces like Jineji, Botan and Momiji, Kanta, Bunza, and even Shiori!
Tumblr media
Shiori would have an episode or two, going more in depth on half demons and their human nights.
To keep the "mystery" aspect Sunrise TRIED to do while also putting a long term goal/conflict in the show to prevent it from getting boring, I would include Towa/Setsuna. But here's the kick-- I would combine them into one character.
Tumblr media
Zetsumetsuko would sometimes run into our main cast and cause issues, mostly based on what the audience infers is some kind of misunderstanding or jealousy. This character will butt heads with Moroha, similar to how InuYasha and Sesshomaru were, but with her having a bit more sass.
Moroha says they smell familiar, but she can't place her finger on it. Zetsumetsuko tends to say some cryptic stuff, saying she knows some info that Moroha doesn't. This character is basically a wild card, and is to keep the audience on their toes. It is of course, later revealed that this character is the daughter of Sesshomaru. (Not that it's hard to guess, haha.) It happens when the main cast run into Rin. Zetsumetsuko appears to try and cause more trouble, only for Rin to excitedly shout, "Sister!" And begin doting upon her.
Tumblr media
With tensions eased, the characters manage to sit and chat calmly. Zetsumetsuko feels like she doesn't belong, and struggles to find a place in the world similar to InuYasha. They barely knew their own father, raised primarily by Rin and Jaken. She doesn't even know her own mother. Zetsumetsuko has been following Moroha out of a sense of jealousy, since they're related but their paths have been so different. She basically reveals how lonely she's been, too. Which leads to her joining the group!
I wanted to introduce Zetsumetsuko as the daughter of Sesshomaru at the same time I introduced Rin as her sister, basically cutting Rin out of the running for potential mother right away.
The mother would be Kagura, who... I don't have a design for, ah! I heard a lot of talk and rumors about Kagura having become a goddess and I think I would apply that idea to my rewrite. It would explain why Kagura wasn't around for Zatsumetsuko growing up. Ah, now I have to make a Goddess!Kagura design, hahaha.
In conclusion, my sequel would be made purely for nostalgia's sake. No retcons, barely even touching the original plot of InuYasha. It would be a way to see the old cast through new characters, who would be charming in their own right without relying on their parents, and would allow us to revisit one-off and filler characters again. The sequel wouldn't be a necessary watch to enjoy InuYasha, it would just be a way for fans to go, "Oh, I remember that character! Good times!"
That's about it! I worked really hard on the character designs and thinking about their personalities and how they fit in, so if you haven't yet, it would be nice if you took a look at the links I put in and read a bit more about their characters! Please feel free to ask questions, I'm not the best at explaining myself at length since my mind gets jumbled, haha.
Thank you!

GAKUEN K: WONDERFUL SCHOOL DAYS
CHAPTER 1: START
Translation: Naru-kun Raws: skyflyinginaction
* Gakuen K (List of Chapters) * Projects & Chapters
A peaceful life. That is all she expected.
She didn't want to think like until now.
Fortunately, she received a recommendation from the "Ashinaka Super School" to move.
So she wouldn't make that mistake anymore. She simply disciplines herself so as not to disturb anyone, quietly and discreetly. She would keep quiet so as not to attract attention.
She was sure that she would find a place to stay. She thought she would be accepted.
After that, she would enjoy it. She would have fun. She would have a mediocre and peaceful life that would bore her.
She had already lost once what was precious to her.
"Nya! Shiro, it smells good from here!"
"Huh? Neko? What we're looking for isn't food... huh?"
"Oh! Find the transfer student! Let's do it! Wagahai-chan!"
Her heart leapt at the joyous voice that suddenly echoed from behind.
At the same time as she hurriedly looked back, a beautiful girl appeared.
"Kya!"
"Hey! Neko!"
"It smells delicious!"
The beautiful girl rubbed her face against her chest with a fascinating expression. She was a beautiful girl that couldn't be fooled.
Stunning strange blue and gold eyes on white skin. Long straight light red hair.
A boy with silver-white hair and tender eyes with sunrise color approached her, who was surprised and hardened, and apologized, clasping his hands in front of her face.
"I'm sorry. Stop it, Neko!"
Then that girl with sincere and kind eyes, stood in front of her and smiled at her in a friendly way.
"You're here! No… I searched here and there and finally found it~"
"Um...?"
When she tilted her head, she gave a stern look for a moment, but immediately smiled, "Oh, I'm sorry.", and pointed to her face.
"I haven't introduced myself yet! I'm Kukuri Yukizome, from the same sophomore group as you."
"Yukizome-san."
"Call me Kukuri. My teacher asked me to guide the transfer student to the school. They told me you should be in the school principal's office, but when I went, he said you had already left. I looked for you, but couldn't find you, so I finally got help from Shiro-kun and Wagahai-chan!"
"Eh...? Oh! I'm sorry. Sorry to bother you."
"You don't have to apologize. Oh, yeah. May I ask your name?"
"Ah. Sorry. I'll introduce myself. I'm Konohana Saya."
"Uh, Saya-chan. Yes, I remember. Nice to meet you, Saya-chan!"
"Uh, yeah, nice to meet you..."
She held the outstretched hand enthusiastically.
"He is Isana Shiro-kun. And she..."
"Wagahai, I'm Neko!"
When Kukuri presented her with her hand, the beautiful girl responded happily, staying close to her.
"Shiro-kun and Wagahai-chan are the same second group as us."
"Oh, is that so?"
"Yeah, so you don't have to use "-kun" or "-san" for me or for Neko. It tickles. I hope you can feel free to call us "Neko" and "Shiro" and talk to us."
Shiro, a silver-white haired boy, smiled kindly.
"Oh, thank you. Nice to meet you."
In some ways it was a good self-introduction. Feeling happy that she could do that, she looked at Shiro and tilted my head away from him, saying, "Well then let's get started..."
"That... I'm really enjoying it... What?"
Neko was still glued to her.
"Eh? Ah... Stop it, Neko. She's not food."
"Nya, don't you know, Shiro? Gohan smells delicious!"
Shiro scolded Neko, but she held on even more.
(Yeah? Huh? Wait! Now Neko-chan, did you say "Gohan smells delicious"? Isn't that "Gohan smells delicious"?), she thought.
What did that mean?
"Eh? Maybe that 'Gohan' is me?"
"Yeah! Gohan smells like Gohan, I love it! That's why you're Gohan!"
Kukuri and Shiro laughed at Neko's cheerful response.
"Wagahai-chan... Gohan..."
"Ah, Konohana-san. Neko is not good at remembering people's names. She does not do it with bad intentions."
"Huh? Oh, it's fine."
Smell Gohan...? Did it mean she smelled strange?
She sorry about the situation, but she wasn't sure.
"Shiro! I'm hungry, let's go with Gohan! I want to go to the shopping department!"
Eh? Purchasing department?
"This is not good, Wagahai-chan. We have a class from now on."
"Hm..."
Kukuri urged her to walk, Neko kept holding on.
"Then as I guide you to the classroom, first lesson. Don't forget your student ID card. Make sure you take it with you. You will need it to do anything, like walk through the front door, to borrow a book or buy juice, etc."
"Is it okay to use this PDA as a student ID card?"
Kukuri smirked when she took out the PDA with a big school emblem on it.
"Yes, it is. Don't forget it. Even outside of school. Always carry it with you."
"Out of the School?"
"Yes. I go in and out of school, in and out of the school island and I also use transportation. It is also proof of identity."
"School island..."
"Yes! Ashinaka, an integrated education school from kindergarten to university. This island centered around that school is called "Ashinaka Super School". Someday I will show you the city."
"Yes, I see. Thank you."
"But first of all, you have to remember the inside of this school. At the beginning of registration, everyone does it once."
"I get lost and I'm late for class. How many times has this happened to you, Saya-chan?"
Kukuri smiled as if she was joking.
"Uh... I'll have to. I'm not very good at that though."
"Well, it happens to me too, and I think it would be good if you were guided by the PDA at first."
Kukuri hit her on the back when she immediately fell into anxiety.
"It's late, where were they and what were they doing?"
As soon as she entered the classroom, a grumpy voice jumped at her ears. Reflectively, she leaned in and said, "Yes, I'm sorry!"
Right after that, there was a terrible voice that said, "What?"
When she raised her face, the boy in front of her with his beautiful black hair was mysteriously frowning.
"I didn't tell you. Who are you?"
"Well, I am Konohana Saya. I will be in this class from today."
"As of today... By the way, the transfer student that Shiro was talking about is you."
The boy was convinced and then bowed deeply.
"I am Kuroh Yatogami. As a classmate, thank for you continued support."
(Wow. It's very difficult... no. Kind regards!), she thought.
In haste, she bowed firmly.
"Yes, thanks."
Yatogami spoke very firmly. The atmosphere was also mature.
"It's difficult. Kuro. It's not a classmate's greeting."
"You should pay the courtesy. Did you both do your homework well?"
Tumblr media
Responding to Shiro's words with a serious face, Yatogami narrowed his eyes.
"I'm not going to do it. I'm going to show Kuro's homework."
"What are you saying? Try to do things yourself responsibly. I definitely won't show it to you!"
"Tsk, stingy Kuro."
"That's not the problem. If you have time to bark, does your homework."
Yatogami, who scolded him in a stifled manner, is forgiven with a "Yes, yes.", and Shiro urged Neko to gently walk towards her seat. Furthermore, his face was distorted again, and Yatogami followed them. It was kind of funny.
"Hey, Kukuri-chan. Is 'Kuro' a nickname for Yatogami-kun?"
"That's right. Shiro-kun, Kuro-kun, a black and white duo. He's a good friend with club activities. Now, Saya-chan, I'll introduce you to everyone. Here and there."
Kukuri motioned for her to come.
She headed forward, following her. No, she tries to continue.
"Kamamoto! What are you doing? Come quickly!"
Suddenly, a voice echoed with rough footsteps. Immediately after, the impact on her back.
"Gah!"
She couldn't stop myself from the momentum, she lost her balance and fell.
"Ah, Saya-chan! Are you okay?"
Kukuri's voice was amazing. Oh, it wasn't so good... maybe. It hurt a lot.
However, the person who rushed inside was also worried, and as tears welled up from the pain in her back, hands, and knees, she managed to lift her upper body and look back.
"It hurts... hey... Who is this guy standing in the doorway?!"
There was a boy there, who seemed to have struck like her, lying on the ground.
He had the front of the black school uniform open, the shirt with two buttons unbuttoned, and the hem out. Also, a dark blue hat and the usual auburn hair that twisted in any direction.
The boy, who didn't seem to be polite, looked at her as he rubbed the area around his waist in excruciating pain and cursed.
"Ah…"
His wild and warlike eyes stared directly at the opponent.
It was a terrible, gaudy flame, and she couldn't help but lose her words.
Tumblr media
The boy looked at her too and his eyes widened, astonishing for some reason.
"No, Yata-san, it's early. We still have time until class... That? Yata-san. Why are you sitting on the floor?"
A big boy who came running in with a plaintive voice, bowed his head when he saw him sitting on the ground, and looked at each other.
As the words surprised him, the boy named Yata shook himself and looked at the boy who was looking at them.
"Silly! I'm not sitting! This is... an accident!"
"Accident? Ah... I don't know, but why don't you get up for now?"
"No, you don't have to tell me! Hey, Kamamoto... do it."
"Yes?"
A big boy named Kamamoto bowed his head and asked again at Yata's small voice. Oh, but he thought he couldn't be helped. It was a very small voice.
However, he maybe didn't like him, and when Yata suddenly stood up, he gave Kamamoto a blow to the head. She was surprised.
"Eh?!"
"Why do you hit me?"
"I cannot hear you!"
No, she didn't think he didn't hear him, did he really not hear it?
(Huh? What? This "Yata" is extremely unreasonable.), she thought.
"That's right. I couldn't hear it, so it can't be helped."
When stunned, Kamamoto made a very natural counterargument. Yes, she understood that feeling very well.
"Uh, loud. Well, that... helps the woman..."
"Woman? Ah! Is that what you mean?"
Kamamoto laughed as if he were convinced, and walked over to her, knelt on the ground, and held out his hand.
"Yata-san pushed you. Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself?"
"Ah... I'm fine."
She wanted to say, maybe it was worse. She was standing in front of the door. She apologized and bowed, and looked at the black sunglasses.
"Oh, you are..."
"Hmm? Oh, this is Rikio Kamamoto from the second year group. This is Misaki Yata, who is also in the same group."
Kamamoto laughed as he gently helped her.
"Ah! Hey, Kamamoto! Silly, don't introduce me without permission!"
Yata yelled at Kamamoto, who was gentle and kind regardless of his appearance. There was no reason to be angry about that presentation.
"Because you are Yata-san, it seems unlikely that you will introduce yourself."
"That's... sorry."
She was confused.
"But don't sell my name at a bargain price."
"It's the first time I've seen you, are you a girl from another class?"
Kamamoto finally ignored Yata, who was still screaming. Apparently he was fine.
When she said, "No, I'm not.", unsurprisingly, Yata yelled, "Damn, listen to me!". That was to be expected.
"Excuse me!"
"Oh! Don't look here and there!"
She hastily apologized, but this time Yata, who turned his face bright red and turned around, yelled again.
"Eh? Oh, sorry! I see..."
"No, don't apologize! Oh, you're ... wow, not bad..."
(Huh? Is that so? Not bad?), she thought.
When she looked at Kamamoto because she couldn't understand why, Kamamoto shrugged and shook his head.
"Ah, don't worry. Yata-san is not good with girls."
(Is that so?), she thought.
He was not good with girls. Still, it was the first time she had seen a person overreact.
"Then?"
"Ah! Konohana Saya, I'll stay in this class. Well, it's nice to meet you. May I call you Kamamoto-kun?"
"Thanks. I don't care. Call me what you want."
She was relieved to hear a friendly response.
"Yes. Yata-kun too."
"Eh? Me too?"
"Yes, I hope you get along well."
"Eh? Who is that? Who are you talking about!"
At that moment, Yata blushed again and turned to the other side. He didn't have the ability to learn, so he kept having the conversation in front of the entrance. So of course he would get in the way of people trying to enter the classroom.
The person who walked in pushed his back away, and Yata looked back with a grumpy voice, "Oh?"
"Misaki. Don't occupy the entrance of the classroom for one person, even a little."
"Saru, damn it!"
(Saru? Is this person's nickname?), she thought.
His clean eyebrows were unpleasantly distorted and his black eyes were very thoughtful.
Black hair in habit and black-rimmed glasses. A pure white school uniform with a slightly loose chest. He had a mark on his arm, she wondered what the blue bracelet meant.
"……!"
And a saber with a blue scabbard at his waist.
She didn't think it was necessary for school life and widened her eyes in amazement.
(Huh? What? That... why is he wearing such a thing?), she thought.
Involuntarily he looked at her seriously, the next moment, she quickly bowed her head.
"Ah, I am Konohana Saya, a transfer student. Thank you!"
What came back was complete silence.
"That…"
When she lifted her face, an icy look shot through her.
"Stop doing that, it's annoying."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
She strongly apologized and got out of the way.
Tumblr media
That person just tried to slide past her.
"Hey, wait, Saru. You must introduce yourself."
Yata threw a harsh voice behind him.
The man, named Saru, shook his shoulders and looked back in amazement.
"What? Did you introduce yourself?"
He frowned repeatedly as if he didn't understand why.
"Don't send nonsense things. Misaki."
"It's not meaningless. We are her new partners. It's normal to introduce himself."
Long ago, he said that he wouldn't show up either.
She really wanted to know, but she was scared, so she shut her mouth.
"Or you can't even introduce yourself. Hmm, you're a boy."
When he decided to stand idly by, it was a terrible word that came out of Yata's mouth.
(Huh?! Wait. It's not about forcing him to fight, is it?!), she thought.
Saru clicked his tongue as the story seemed to roll in an unexpected direction.
And when he sighed like a deaf person, he echoed and coughed.
"Fushimi Saruhiko."
"Hmm...! Yes. Thank you, Fushimi-san."
He left before she finished saying it. He made her feel uncomfortable.
"Geez. Monkey bastard, you can just say your name so honestly."
Yata was upset and amazed. Why would be?
"Even Yata-san was mad at me when I introduced myself, wasn't he?"
Before she said more, Kamamoto stabbed a sickle firmly. "That's it! That's it!"
"Oh, that's it... You can say it after getting permission!"
He made a painful excuse and said, "Kamamoto, let's go quickly."
After that, Kamamoto ran and followed him.
"Eh?"
It was as if a storm had passed.
After dismissing Yata and other young men, she looked at Kukuri and took control powerlessly.
++++++++++
"Rice! Rice! Kurosuke's homemade rice! Shiro! Let's eat rice!"
"Yes. Let's go out because the weather is good today."
"Hurrah!"
"Don't rock your lunch! The contents will fall apart!"
It was noon. Around the same time the bell rang, Neko stood up, and Shiro and Yatogami left the classroom following her. As she smiled and said goodbye, Kukuri reached over and touched her desk.
"Shall we go to the coffee shop? You didn't bring any food, did you?"
"Yeah. Oh, but it's okay to be alone. That's Kukuri-chan's lunch box, right? I think I can get to the coffee shop if I have a navigation system."
"Yes! But let me go with you. I also want to tell you the location of the shopping department. And if I get lost early on the first day, my name as a guide will be spoiled, right?"
"Okay, then, I'll be attentive to your words. Thank you."
"No! What? Then let's go together!"
Kukuri started walking with a joyous cry. She got up and followed her.
"There are several ways to get to the coffee shop, but the best is through the courtyard."
"Courtyard?"
"Yes. Therefore, I would not recommend going down these stairs immediately, on a limited menu day. Because the purchase is established in several places."
(Huh? Limited menu?), she thought.
She got out a word she didn't expect, and instinctively looked at Kukuri.
"Eh? Did you buy it now?"
"Yes, it is a strategy to expel the rivals. Lunch is one of the joys for the students, so everyone is desperate."
No, that was correct. She thought it was the same in all schools, but what did it mean to expel rivals?
(She said it's natural, but that? It's weird, I don't understand. Well, that shouldn't be the case, right?), she thought.
As she twisted her neck, she went downstairs with Kukuri and pushed open the glass door that led down the hall to the courtyard.
There was a neat flowerbed with colorful flowers in every corner. The fresh green of the plantation was also nice.
Light pink petals fluttered from the beautiful and splendid cherry blossoms. The white garden table and chairs underneath were fascinating. It would be great to enjoy her lunch there.
Kukuri, who was leading the way through the large and beautiful courtyard where such garbage had not fallen, stopped and shrugged, "Oh, no. Sorry. I can't go through here."
"Eh? Why?"
Kukuri pointed to the front, saying "That.". For the first time, she realized that there were many people gathered there, since she was looking at other things before.
And, well... it didn't seem like a good atmosphere. Yes. It was extremely unsettling.
A group in black school uniforms and a group in white school uniforms staring at each other.
People wearing black school uniforms didn't seem polite. On the other hand, many people who wore white school uniforms had the impression of looking tight. They felt like honor students.
But after all, there was a blue scabbard saber at the waist. What was that?
"Kukuri-chan? They seem to be staring at each other, but what the hell are they doing?"
"It's a conflict!"
"Eh?"
Too simple an answer that made her doubt her ears.
(Huh? Did she say a conflict?), she thought.
"Conflict... is that a fight?"
"Yes, that is correct."
"Well why are the students fighting?"
"Fufu, I haven't seen a person react this way in a long time. It's okay. You'll be surprised at first, but you'll get used to it. It's the usual thing."
(Is it okay to get used to it?), she thought.
Also, as usual, she thought conflict was something that shouldn't become a daily routine. No, nothing was becoming a daily routine, first of all, there was a conflict within the school.
She was confused by the images and words that were far from common sense.
However, when she looked around, there were people who were looking far away, but no one was surprised or made noise, so Kukuri's reaction was correct.
(Hmm. Common sense in this school is a bit strange.) she thought.
Struggling to understand, she returned to a group of gazes.
"Uh... that? Yata-kun and Kamamoto-kun are there too? Besides, Fushimi-kun."
"That's right. Yata-kun and Kamamoto-kun are in the Red club, and Fushimi-kun is in the Blue club."
"Eh? Red club and Blue club? What's that?"
Kukuri laughed and explained with good humor.
"It is a special activity of the club. It is one of the characteristics of this school."
"Special club activities?"
"That's right. There are seven special club activities at this school in addition to the regular club activities. Two of them are from the Red and Blue club. Special club activities, because when you join the club, you can use special abilities. It's very popular with students, because the word "special ability" is great, right? But only the "chosen ones" recognized by each director can join the club."
The word "special ability" surprised her.
"Only the chosen ones...?"
"Yes. Not everyone can get in. In that sense, it's "special". The Red club wears that black school uniform. Most of the Red club members are bad. However, "it's not that way" bad, so it is accepted by students in general."
Eh? Were they bad, but not evil? She didn't understand anything.
"But it's not all bad things. How to put it? I think those people are not good at keeping up with everyone. People who go their own way are the best. Maybe it's close. The director is Mikoto Suoh, a student third year. He's also the head of the Red club and he's very strong. You see, that red-haired person next to Yata-kun."
Kukuri pointed at the person in the middle of the black group with her finger.
His red eyes were eerily sharp. Tense and sad cheeks.
Did she say he was older? Charismatic? Regardless, his presence was astonishing.
"The Blue club wear a white school uniform. Excellent grades, good behavior. Most of the members are super elite groups that also serve as officers of student organizations and members of the disciplinary committee. The activities are the maintenance of discipline, the orientation of the students, it feels like they are always leading the students in a disciplined way, like leading events at school, so it seems like they are not on good terms with the Red club from one point of view."
Even though she said, "That's correct.", she frowned at the explanation.
(Good behavior... Eh? I'm sure I'm the only one who thinks that carrying a gun to kill people around your waist doesn't mean being good.), she thought.
"The director of the Azul club is Reisi Munakata, a third year student. The director of the Student Organization Within the School, the whereabouts of the Great Myojin!"
The central figure in the white group that Kukuri continued to display was, yes, like "Shinsei Seidai Myojin".
Sharp glasses with calm and cool eyes. He listened to the Red Club swearing with a sweet smile on his lips, as if he were listening to classical music.
"That's why I can't go through here. I'm just looking at it now, but it seems to be getting a little warm, and it is."
"Monkey! Bastard, say it again!"
A loud voice echoed across the courtyard as if to block Kukuri's words. It was Yata's voice.
When he breathes and look back, Fushimi, who looked away, laughed vividly.
"Oh, I'll tell you many times. Your power is below mine. Mi-Sa-Ki."
Delighted, terribly happy, growling and despising people. His smile gave her chills.
(What? That look.), she thought.
"I can't take it! I'll take you down!"
Yata jumped, dyeing his eyes with fierce fury.
"Wow. It's started. That's it for the special part. I'm hungry, can we go quickly?"
Kukuri wanted to leave in a hurry, but she couldn't answer.
She was fascinated by the flames, which had arisen from Yata's hands.
"Saya-chan?"
The shape was slightly different, but all the people in the Red club could easily create a flame and target the Blue club. Those of the Blue club also took out their sabers one after another to defend themselves. There was a blue light on the blade.
Involuntarily, she looks at her hands.
(That's a special ability. So my thing is...), she thought.
"Saya-chan!"
Her shoulders shook and she suddenly came back to herself.
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"Because it's dangerous here. Shall we go?"
"Yes."
At that moment, Kukuri urged her on and looked back quickly.
Yes, that was exactly a fight. Other students in the courtyard were screaming.
"Ah...!"
When she looked back, the first thing she saw was a knife with a red lotus flame approaching them. And that last moment, she didn't have time to think about anything.
"Kukuri-chan, it's dangerous!"
Kukuri's body moved quickly. At that moment, a flash of light enveloped her.
Light was pouring out of her limbs and she couldn't open her eyes.
"Ah...!"
At the same time, there was a tremendous destructive sound.
But that was only a moment, and soon... the light disappeared like a lie.
The knife that should have flown there was also annihilated.
"Kukuri-chan, are you hurt?"
"No. I'm fine. It's nothing, but..."
Kukuri was in her arms and responded with a confused look.
"Hey. The light is coming out of your body, Saya-chan, but..."
The words surprised her. She quickly released Kukuri and looked at her hands.
Both hands had a vague white light. Her whole body was in that state. Yes. It was as if she herself was emitting light.
A cold thing crept up her back.
(This is the same as before...!), she thought.
When she looked around her in a hurry, the stone pavement was severely broken and only around her. It was as if it had been crushed by a heavy machine.
It appeared that there was no damage to the school building. The surrounding students were also safe. Just around her and Kukuri, the stone pavement was broken, scraped, and tiled as if a circle had been drawn around her.
"Ah...!"
The blood suddenly disappeared. She shook back and hugged herself.
(What do I have to do! In this school, I decided to be careful not to be like this! I don't want to think like that again. Therefore, I controlled myself so as not to disturb anyone, only in a discreet and silent way. Quiet so as not to make waves. I thought she was calm!), she thought.
"What's that?"
Kukuri's question brought her back to herself.
"This is..."
"You are a 'Strain', aren't you?"
A sweet, low and gentle voice resonated with the usual sound of his shoes.
When she took a breath and looked around her, the person who was there was Reisi Munakata, the director of the Blue club and the director of the Student Organization within the school.
In his hand was a sword that glowed pale.
"A "Strain"...?"
"Yes. People with innate special abilities are called 'Strains'."
With that said, he placed the saber in the scabbard and pulled up his goggles.
"The power of a "Strain" sometimes hurts people."
A painful memory crossed her mind.
Munakata stared at her with a distorted face, a smile on his lips.
"It is also our role to take strong measures to prevent this from happening. The day before yesterday, there was a report that a 'Strain' had entered the island, but are you the transfer student?"
With a rattling noise, Munakata took a step closer to her. She turned and took a step back.
"The birth of a talented person off this island is infinitely equal to zero."
"Ah, that, I..."
"In other words, the exception is that you are a 'Strain'... Transfer student Konohana Saya. If you don't resist, nothing bad will happen. Shut up and give up quickly."
As usual, a soft, sweet smile on his lips.
However, there was a sharp, dignified light in his eyes behind his glasses, and she was frightened by the power of it.
Taking a step back, Munakata narrowed his eyes slightly and held out his hand.
"Come here."
"Oh, I..."
At that moment, a flame struck behind Munakata.
At the moment of shouting, Munakata drew his saber and turned around to block the flame.
"She didn't do anything wrong, that's why she shouldn't give up."
Suoh pointed his flaming hand towards Munakata.
"I reject you, I keep the woman."
"Well, it's rare that you are interested in others."
"Yes. If you think so, give it to me."
Munakata responded to Suoh's fearless smile with a graceful and gentle smile.
"No. If you're interested, I can't quit."
Then, he turned the saber, which was reflecting the sunlight, directly towards Suoh.
"She is an irregular person and I want her to be within my grasp."
"If so, can I get it by force?"
"You are still a barbarian. If so, here too. All members, get ready!"
A sharp command. The people from the Blue club, a group in white school uniforms, responded immediately.
The fight started again. Ahead of her, Munakata looked back and reached out quickly.
"This time. Come with me."
"Oh, I..."
(What do I have to do?), she thought.
Tumblr media
"I won't let you do that."
At that moment, she shook his throat and took another step back. It was unexpected. A voice was heard from above.
It was around the same time that she was surprised to look up at the sky and Munakata flew back quickly and brilliantly.
Immediately afterwards, someone fell to the place where Munakata was.
Black hair blowing in the wind. A Japanese sword that pierced the sky gleamed in the sunlight.
"No, Yatogami-kun!"
Yatogami stood up with her on her back. At the same time, behind the scenes, "Kukuri, are you okay?"
Looking back, she wondered when Shiro and Neko would arrive.
"This girl's security is in charge of the 'Silver Club'."
"Huh? What was that?"
"Don't get me wrong. It's temporary. I'm not trying to force you into anything. The Silver club is different from the Blue club."
Holding a Japanese sword, Yatogami looked at Suoh.
With a pon, Shiro tapped his shoulder, staring at the two people who were abruptly facing each other.
"Shiro-kun... that, I..."
"Yes. You were scared. It's okay. Leave it to me."
She wrinkled her head and was relieved by his soft hands.
"I'll give you a lot of explanations later. Let's escape for the moment. Kuro!"
"Yes."
"Huh?"
Yatogami, who had great strength, put his Japanese sword in the sheath and picked them both up.
She was surprised by the sudden movement and blushed shaking her limbs. But that was not the end.
Yatogami suddenly made a gesture like throwing something at the school building. A kind of power. They then took off from the ground at tremendous speed, dragged by invisible forces.
"Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
Involuntarily clinging to Yatogami, she closed her eyes tightly.
(What the hell is going on ?!), she thought.
A terrible wind violently shook her hair.
As it was, she and Yatogami were thrown into the sky.
"Are you okay?"
When she opened her eyes slightly to his voice, in front of her was a bowl of rice and canned juice.
She was lying in her bedroom, and when she wobbled her upper body, she wrapped the juice in her hands and exhaled the air into her lungs in one go.
She had terrible eyes...
He jumps from the courtyard to the roof of the school building. From there, he jumped to another building, and then jumped from the height at which she would normally die. She didn't want to experience it again. Bungee without lifeline.
he ran further and brought her to an empty classroom in a building she had not yet entered.
That classroom was generally locked and used only for special occasions.
Yatogami, who opened the key easily, lowered her gently on the chair and went somewhere to buy that.
"The whites should be here soon. Drink it first and calm down."
"Yes, thanks."
She lifted the lid and hydrated her throat with the cold juice.
Her fingers were still trembling. Oh, but the sweetness of her made her feel relaxed. The moment she took a breath, the door opened and Shiro's cheerful voice echoed through the room.
"Kuro, thank you for your hard work! Konohana-san, are you okay?"
"Yes. Somehow... Thanks for your help."
When she thanked him, Shiro smiled and sat down on his seat next to her.
"It was nothing. It was a disaster from the first day of move-in."
"That's right. Up to that point, it's not as good as it is."
"Hmmm, not enough!"
Shiro smiled bitterly, Yatogami was serious and Neko replied cheerfully. It was no different from when they had a conversation that morning.
On the contrary, it seemed strange in her eyes and she frowned inadvertently.
"Are all three scared?"
Maybe it didn't make sense, everyone went through trouble because of it.
"What is scary? The Red club and the Blue club?"
"No, that's not it. It's about me."
"Monster," she remembers the shock when they told her that.
Her heart was anxious. Her throat screeched and she squeezed her breast with her hand.
"I have a power that ordinary people don't have. That caused a lot of trouble around me and I couldn't stay at the old school."
No. It was a nuisance. It wasn't pretty at all.
Like Munakata said, she hurts people.
"I was thinking of living like an ordinary person in this school. I decided to hide my abilities. I would never let my abilities skyrocket."
A string of light. A terrible destructive sound. A knife that disappeared like dust. The ground that had been crushed. A stone pavement that broke and turned into pieces. Remembering that, she involuntarily hugged herself.
"I didn't know I had this power. It was sudden. When I realized it, the school building was a mess."
She will never forget it, it was unforgettable. The scene at that time would be for life.
Whether in a major earthquake or bombing, a part of the school building was ruined and turned to rubble.
Students fleeing. A bloodstained towel. And…
"Then my friends became hostile and no one looked at me."
A mixed look of surprise and fear towards her. It quickly turned into disgust.
Neither her friends, her classmates nor her superiors were looking at her. They didn't try to get involved. Even the teacher looked away from her.
Even her family was scared and she started looking at her all the time. If she was in a bad mood, that house would be destroyed next. Her parents thought they might be attacked.
She lost everything that was important at the time.
That's why she was thinking that she had done it again. Also, on the first day of transfer.
Here she too had become a "monster".
"Oh... I have to find a new school again..."
"Eh? You don't have to. You'll be fine here."
"Why? I can't stay here anymore!"
"So? You run away every time you use your power? What the hell? Isn't that stupid?"
"Ah...!"
Suddenly, the classroom door opened and a grumpy voice echoed, interrupting her words.
When she looked around her, he was standing there, Fushimi, who had a distorted face that looked annoyed.
"Fuwah! What are you doing? I don't like you, Glasses!"
Neko looked threatening, and Fushimi said, "I have no business with you. My purpose is that woman.".
"Huh? I?"
His eyes without heat surprised her. At his waist, the saber made a loud noise.
"If you try to carry out the principal's order, it's a disaster. Wow. This is the collapse of the school building."
(Did the school building collapse?), she thought.
"Guh..."
"Up to that point, even a fool like Domyoji can do it."
"What did you say?"
"He's a member of the Blue club. Of course, I can do it too. It's easy. I just don't do it because it's hard to clean."
(Is it easy...?), she thought.
"That's right."
"Believe it or not, it's up to you. If you want to do it, run away. If there is another school where people can easily tear down the school building."
"Eh…?"
(What does that mean...? Is he trying to reassure me? I don't understand the meaning and his eyes are scary.), she thought.
With a particularly gentle smile, Shiro yelled.
"Yes. As Fushimi says. Konohana-san doesn't have to run away from this school at all. Rather, it's the opposite."
"Quite the opposite?"
"Yes, I think it's right for you. Ashinaka Super School is a school where talented people gather."
"Eh…? Talented?"
"Huh? Special club activities. Didn't you ask someone? Red club, Blue club, etc."
"Well, I heard that from Kukuri-chan."
But that was a story that when you enter a special club, you will be able to use special abilities, isn't it that people with abilities will gather in this school?
When she said that, Fushimi clicked his tongue.
"Eh? That…"
"Well, it's a relationship. Is it that important if the ability is innate or acquired? It's the same in terms of ability."
"Hmm...! Same thing? With me?"
"Did you say that? It's not unusual for a talented person. Because all the guys who belong to the special club are talented people. So, in this school, no one discriminates against talented people. You'll run away from here, where will you go?"
"Ah! No one discriminates?"
"That's right. Well, it seems that Strains are rarely born outside of Gakuenjima, and I think you're different in that sense, but I don't care because all talented people are weird in the first place. Maybe everyone doesn't care either. You can live. normally here. No, I should say that here. You think so too, right Yata-kun?"
"Eh?"
When she was surprised by Shiro's words and ran her eyes towards the door, Yata with a bitter face appeared with a smile on his cheek.
"Don't hide and listen, come out."
"It is urgent."
"Yata-kun..."
"Did you come worried? Or did Suoh tell you to come see what happened? Well, anyway... Konohana-san. Everyone here has special abilities."
"Eh? And Shiro-kun? Neko-chan?"
"Yes. Because we are the Silver club. Fushimi-kun is from the Blue club. Yata-kun is from the Red club. We are all a special department. And Neko is also a Strain. You know what that means, right?"
Words like dreams invaded her.
Was it serious? Wasn't it a lie? Was it really the case?
"Don't I have to run away?"
Wasn't it a dream or an illusion?
"I can stay here?"
Fushimi responded to the words, as he groaned.
"You should like it, right? You're not the only one with a skill anyway."
"Ah!"
She was not alone.
She takes a breath and stare at Fushimi.
She wasn't the only one who had an "ability", he said, but he probably just stated objective facts, but why? She felt that she could get closer to that person. She thought that he could understand the loneliness that had been in her heart since that day.
Suddenly, the tears overflowed.
When she clasped her hands, she hid her teary eyes from him.
It was unbelievable. Because that day she changed her life completely. She had experienced it. She was hurt and suffered. She was still in her mind very clearly that vivid memory.
(Oh, but! However, I'm not alone!), she thought.
"Ah!"
Great tears were shed. She covered her mouth with both hands and looked up. She was not alone.
"Ah...!"
The truth is that she did not want to run away. She wanted a place to stay.
(I don't want to be a "monster". I'm so scared of myself! I don't want to be left alone in the dark without anyone understanding me!), she thought.
"Huh... uh..."
She was not alone. She could stay there.
His words made her tremble. Her heart was full and she couldn't say anything else.
Like a little girl crying.
The opening bell rang on the way, but everyone was there without saying anything.
Fushimi, who should always be a member of the Blue club guiding the students in a disciplined manner, remained silent.
"Still, I wonder what Konohana-san's ability is. She disintegrates the knife."
Seeing that she had calmed down a bit, Shiro said that and looked at Yatogami.
"Konohana-san, you don't understand it too, do you?"
"Yes. When I tried to help Kukuri-chan, it turned out to be like that. Anyway, I'm scared of myself."
"Are you a Strain who does not know your own strength and cannot control it? You are an object of observation that the Blue club seems to like."
He shook his head and looked at her to explain, Yatogami really did say what he was thinking.
The disturbing sound of his words made her shiver.
"Object of observation?"
"Mmm, Kuro. Don't scare her."
"But it's true. The Blue club will not give up on this. It will take aim again."
With that said, Yatogami looked at Fushimi.
"It sounds good for the order of the school, but the Blue club does not choose the means."
"Good. I will definitely come again. But I think that will be only if she doesn't belong to any club. If Konohana-san joins the special club herself, I'm sure it will be a different story."
"It's true?"
"Yes. The director and members will protect you as companions, I'm sure they will find out what your abilities are, and I think they will teach you how to manipulate your abilities properly. No one wants you to escape. You may have been afraid of suddenly giving up, but Munakata-senpai didn't try to hurt you. The ability is really difficult to handle. Apparently, you didn't seem to be able to control your abilities, right? So Munakata-senpai and Suoh-senpai tried to protect you no matter how they did it."
"Eh? Protect me?"
"Yes. Protected by the club. Before it affects the school and the general public. Only talented people can repress talented people."
"So if you join the special club and learn to know and control your skills alongside people who understand you..."
"The Blue club will not attack you. You will no longer be a 'dangerous Strain whose abilities are out of control', do you understand? Do you want to be part of the Silver club? Me and Kuro will protect you, and we slowly elucidate your abilities."
"Join the Silver club?"
Fushimi, who had been listening to the story silently until then, clicked his tongue and looked at Shiro. Yata looked at him too. Scared by both of them, Shiro shrugged and said, "How scary."
"Well, it seems that both the Red club and the Blue club want to protect you, but, anyway, if you join the special club, your situation will improve in various ways."
"Kuro-kun..."
"Think carefully. Konohana-san, you must decide your future school life."
++++++++++
"I'm smart!"
"Wow! Yes! Sorry!"
As soon as she opened the bedroom door, she was scolded and apologized.
Eh? But, wait? Why did she have to open the door to her room and apologize?
"Oh, that's right. You?"
She raised her face and sighed at the robot that was sitting there.
It was one of the robots that cleaned the entire school island, as well as the school building and dormitory. The samurai tone was quite cute. When she stepped aside, he left the room and said, "I'm tall!"
She looked at him, she closed the door and got into bed.
"Oh! I'm tired!"
After skipping class for an hour, she returned to the classroom, but she stopped in front of the door as she was scared. What would she do if they looked at you strangely?
But, in conclusion, she didn't have to worry about it at all.
Kukuri, who found her writhing in front of the door, came out to pick her up.
"Thanks for your help on the courtyard. I'm sorry I couldn't thank you right away."
Kukuri told her that and laughed.
When she asked her: "Am I not disgusting?", Kukuri responded by beating her chest: "I don't think so at all. You were like an ally of justice and it was cute. You are a life saver; you should not feel bad. Tell me if there is someone who annoys you! I'm not good with violence, but I will persuade him.". Oh, that really made her happy.
The look and attitudes of the other colleagues did not change, but made her shine, saying: "You are incredible." The exact opposite of the previous school. But it may be that she used to hurt people with her abilities, and this time she protected people with her abilities.
She finally she was relieved to hear everyone's reaction.
Then she cries again.
Kukuri hugged her, "Don't cry." She patted her head and hit her on the shoulder.
She was so happy to see everyone's comfort and she was so excited that she cried even more.
"Special club activities, huh?"
She holding the cushion she lay on her back. She looked at the ceiling and coughed.
They all accepted her as she displayed her abilities. It was soft and warm.
She was really happy. If she took it easy, she might inadvertently shed tears.
But her power could hurt others. What would she do if she lost control again? She wanted to protect everyone from herself. So she had to know her ability and how to control it.
"Shiro-kun's Silver club."
She looked at the ceiling thoughtfully as if to confirm it.
"The Red club with Yata-kun and Kamamoto-kun."
She got up gently.
She watched the terrifying red sunset shining through the window and clenched her fist tightly.
"Fushimi-kun is in the Blue club."
++++++++++
"I am Reisi Munakata. I am the director of the Azul club and director of the Student Organization at this school."
"I am Konohana Saya. Thanks again!"
Munakata introduced himself again. She was nervous and bowed deeply.
After school, the next day. She was in front of the Blue club room building, commonly known as "Scepter 4".
A majestic building that looked like a palace. A solid and wide entrance. The thick columns were lined up on both sides and the top was a large balcony with a large sliding window. And there are perfectly symmetrical wings left and right, centered on the part of the triangular roof that it had.
Was this the Blue club building? Were they using this whole building for the club? A member of the Blue club, who was completely overwhelmed and found her wandering the oversized open space in front of the building, led her to the principal's office. He explained to her that it was a relocation of an old western style building in a foreign French Renaissance style.
She maybe thought it was good, but it was completely counterproductive. "This is not a good place to be!". She was scared, and about to turn around and run. Managed to stop herself.
The member of the Blue club knocked on the door.
She was sure that at Shiro's Silver club she could have a relaxing time. That is exactly what she originally wanted, a quiet and peaceful place.
Yesterday after school, Totsuka Tatara, who was a third year student in the Red club, came to the classroom and gave her a dessert made by Izumo Kusanagi, a manager in the Red club. She apologized. And the dessert was really delicious.
So she was sure that he could take good care of her, and she would have a good time.
But yes. That is why she decided to go to the Blue club.
While everyone was nice to her, only Munakata told her clearly.
"The power of a Strain sometimes hurts people."
"You are a Strain and I want to have you within my grasp."
About the danger of her ability. On the need for follow-up. Only that person told her.
She was scared at the time, but now she wanted to be an "object of observation" so that she could discover her abilities and learn to control them.
"Konohana Saya-san. Originally, you are a Strain, you must be monitored and protected to maintain order in this school."
In the headmaster's room, staring at her standing in front of a heavy desk, Munakata smiled and crossed his fingers.
His smile was sweet and gentle. However, his eyes were closed and there was no mercy.
So she could be safe there, she could trust him.
This person would not only protect her, he would also protect everyone from her.
"So, I'm glad you visited me. Welcome to the Blue club, Konohana Saya-san."
"Yes, thanks."
Again, she bowed deeply.
"Director."
Around the same time, the sound of banging echoed through the room. Then the sound of the door opening. She turned around to see.
"You calls me?"
It was Fushimi who entered. Noticing her, he clicked his tongue in the middle of the words and opened his eyes slightly.
"Oh, Fushimi-kun. I've been waiting for you. Here's Konohana-san."
"Huh? Oh, yes!"
"You were in the same class as her, right?"
Munakata smiled as he looked at her, she quickly returned her gaze to Munakata.
"Oh, yes. That's correct."
"That's right. Then I'll order Fushimi-kun to be an educator for Konohana-san."
"Eh?!"
"Eh?!"
"Hmm, Fushimi-kun?"
It seems like it was an unexpected word not only for her but also for Fushimi, who was shocked, and a click of the tongue was heard from behind.
However, should keep calling Munakata, director? The director did not seem particularly concerned about his reaction and continued his words with a smile.
"Please support her."
"Because I?"
"We need someone who is always close to her, who educates her to be suitable for the Blue club and able to deal quickly when her power gets out of control. You are the best in the same class."
He wondered if he couldn't argue with that, and after a while, he sighed and replied, "Ok."
Looking back, he really hated having to do it.
"So Konohana-san. I'm going to talk to Fushimi-kun. Thank you for your continued support."
"Ah, yes! Thank you very much!"
She bowed firmly to the director, thanked him, and turned her back on Fushimi as he walked out of the director's office.
"Um, sorry."
It didn't seem like Fushimi would agree to that task, so she didn't look back and apologized to Fushimi, who was walking steadily.
Then he replied, "It's not your fault. Besides, I will obey the director's decision."
His voice was a little soft, but he sounded very grumpy. She thought that Fushimi was really angry. But if she said something, would he ever get mad at her again?
She walked over to Fushimi, thought for a moment and leaned in, saying, "Well, okay then."
"Thanks."
The answer to that was his usual irony.

summary: With Shin growing interest in Yui, he sets Mika aside. Not wanting to be ignored and alone, she seeks Carla out for company, and forms an unexpected friendship with him. Inspired by this playlist.
Tumblr media
This was ridiculous. She was being ridiculous. It was one thing to be mildly jealous of Shin's new budding relationship with Yui, but try to seek comfort and company from his brother —the future Founder King mind you— just to get an ounce of attention? That took it to a whole new level.
Yet here she was, with a deck of cards in her hands, eyeing him across the table.
"Koji. Your turn." Carla's very deep and rich soothing voice broke her from her train of thought.
"Hm? Oh, right! Sorry about that, Master Carla" Mika sheepishly replied, laying down her cards on the table. Even after all years, she never quite managed to let go of the "Master" title when it came to Carla, maybe it was because he was already a king in her eyes, maybe it was because she greatly feared him and respected him? It never bothered her or him for that matter, and once the time came, she would have no problem calling him "Your Majesty" as well.
"Hm it looks like you won once again, Koji. I must say, since when did you get so good at playing cards?" Carla questioned, sighing in defeat, as she won the game once again. Mika chuckled to herself, he was no way a bad player in any means, but she couldn't help but think of how cute he looks, whenever he momentarily looses his cool over a game.
"My father taught me when I was younger! I also used to play card games all the time with the servants, back when I lived with Burai."
"Ah I'm rambling, aren't I? My apologies, Master Carla" Mika apologized, slightly bowing her head in embarrassment. Carla didn't seem the slightest bit annoyed, in fact, he looked amused.
"Please there's no need for that, Mika. I'm not a good card player myself you see, I'm more into paint collecting them card playing" Carla remarked. Her cheeks flushed, at the sound of him saying her name, it was ridiculous really, it's not like this is the first time he said it, and this was definitely not the first time she reacted this way when he does.
Trying to keep her composure, she smiled at him, hoping her blush wasn't to noticeable.
"Well I must say for a beginner, Master Carla, you're already exceeding some of the most skilled card players I've seen. Funny enough, that reminds me of that one time, when I was playing with Shin for the first time, he threw the deck of cards straight at me, because he betted all his chips on the first round and-"
"Now you're rambling Koji." Carla interrupted, seemingly annoyed when she brought up Shin's name. Mika took note of that, but decided not to push it further.
"My apologies, I didn't mean to get so off topic. What I meant was that you're an excellent card player, that's all!" Mika quickly tried to explain her reasoning, hoping that she didn't offend him in any way.
Even though, she lived and served for the Tsukinami's for years now, she never spend time with Carla just one-on-one, thanks to Shin's overbearing possessiveness and general insecurity. It felt kinda nice, if she was being honest, she liked what they had, and she hoped that wouldn't deteriorate after one stupid comment.
"That's quite enough, I understood what you were trying to say" He rubbed his temples and tiredly sighed. But what was he tired of? Was he tired of her? And if he understood what she was trying to say then why did he seem so upset about it?
"I'm sorry Master Carla I'm not quite follo-"
"Stop speaking. You're a lot of things Koji, but dense isn't one of them, refrain from speaking, unless given permission otherwise." Carla demanded.
"....."
"Good girl. Now that I have your full attention, why don't we continue our game, without any distractions in the way." Carla said. Stretching out the word, distractions, in particular, which she noted was a tad bit odd but didn't question it any further.
"Of course, if that's what you wish sir! Though I do advise you to maybe shuffle the deck sir...." Mika teased, as she looked down at her clearly unshuffled set of cards. Seeing the great Carla, struggling so hard in doing such a simple task like shuffling, she couldn't help but let out a chuckle or two, though she tried to stifle it as much as she could.
"Ah so you noticed that as well? Hm guess I'll have to practice more then for the next time"
"Next time? What do you mean by that?" Mika asked cautiously, completely caught off guard by his statement. The thought of seeing him again, actually made her heart flutter but she couldn't help but ask why. Why would would someone like him, the most powerful demon and future founder king, want to see her, a lowlife half demon, again?
Carla looked her with a blank expression, absolutely dumbfounded by her ridiculous question. Did she really not know?
"What's not to understand? I enjoyed our time together, and I want more of it" Carla replied, bluntly. "Though if I'm being honest, there's something else that I want more from you..."
"What is it, Master Carla?" Mika asked politely, wondering where this was headed.
"I want you to call me by name, without a title or honorifics" Carla demanded. Mika scanned his expression, wondering if this was some kind of a joke, but his eyes looked so stern and serious.
"I-is that all? Just to call you by your name?" Mika stammered. She fully expected him to say something along the lines of giving him her blood.
"We've known each other for a quite a long time, does it really come to a shock to you that I want you to drop the title?" Carla inquired. Mika had nothing to retort with, so she stayed silent.
"Besides, how is it that you speak so casually to Shin, and don't extent that same generosity to me? Are you trying to offend me?" Carla continued, sounding oddly bitter. If Mika didn't know any better, she would have thought that he was jealous?
"No, of course not! I didn't realize that it upsetted you so much, you never said anything, so I assumed you didn't mind. I didn't mean for it to come across that way, my apologies for being so careless.... Carla" Mika apologized, internally cringing as she said his name without the proper title, she was going to have to work on getting used to it.
Carla on the other hand, seemed very pleased, almost as if he was gloating, like he won a damn award. Was he really that happy that she said something as simple as his name?
Carla.
Carla.
Carla.
She said his name over and over again in her head, but she still couldn't get enough. It was honestly quiet embarrassing, how a simple request can turn her into such a muddling mess. Yet she couldn't deny the fluttering feeling in her chest whenever she said his name, is this what he was feeling to when she said it?
They continued their game without any more interruptions or distractions in sight, however their game was cut short once Shin's familiar's came to get her.
"I'll be right there!" Mika exclaimed, a faint blush on her cheeks. It's been weeks since Shin had last spoken to her, much less seen her, she couldn't help but feel overjoyed t the thought of seeing him again. Had he finally come to his senses and drop that pathetic human once and for all? Mika truly hoped that the was case, but despite all of her excitement, she couldn't help but feel so disappointed and upset for leaving Carla so soon.
"Ah, my apologies Carla, but my presences is needed else where, may I be excused?" Mika turned her head to Carla, who was busy putting away her cards in the desk drawer.
"It's fine, we'll pick up where we left off next time" Carla replied. Although there was no bitterness or malice in his words, he wasn't meeting her eyes, and that just made her feel more crummier then she already felt.
"Well alright then, see you next time, Carla." Mika gave him a curt nod, before heading off. As she turned her back to him, she could sense his sharp eyes piercing behind her, glaring at her back. Why? She couldn't say, but she had an inkling feeling that next time was coming much sooner than expected.
