Omegas that would have obsessions — Multifandom

Notes: This is inspired by @animeomegas's headcanon of Nara's obsessions, but since I discovered it through @omeganronpa I'm giving them both credit.

Warnings: Contain MAJOR Inuyasha spoilers, might have grammar errors, confusing talk about reincarnation (I don't know what I'm saying either lol)

I had this idea for a while, cause I like the idea of the Nara clan having a sort of "soulmate", so I thought to myself "What other characters that I write for would also have obsessions?". And here are the ones I think would have:

- Inuyasha: 

»» I think he and his entire family (his father and brother) would have it, just like it happens with the Nara clan every heir has an obsession. But in Inuyasha's case, it can be a little confusing.

»» Because if we follow the canon, his obsession would be Kikyo and Kagome, considering they are the same person since Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo from the future. So in the end, they're the same person in different timelines.

»» So we can have three scenarios in this case, first one: Inuyasha's obsession is Alpha from the very start, and he doesn't fall in love with Kikyo.

»» Second scenario is that (Name) is the only reincarnation of Kikyo, and Kagome either doesn't exist or just isn't the reincarnation. The third scenario would be that Kagome and Alpha are twins, and they're both the reincarnation of Kikyo, but Inuyasha only obsesses over one, cause otherwise it could lead to incest and I don't like that.

»» For the majority of the anime's plot to work, I think we would have to go with a mix of the third and second scenario, in which Alpha is Kagome's older sibling (by a few years), and is also Kikyo's reincarnation but either both the siblings have priest's powers or only Kagome has.

- Sesshomaru:

»» Being Inuyasha's brother he has an obsession too, but it is a lot easier to discuss how it would work.

»» I hate that they made Sesshomaru and Rin a couple, he raised her like a daughter through the anime, and in the end (and Hanyō no Yashahime) they turned into a couple. I understand that at their time this conception might not be weird and whatnot, but it is to me, so we will pretend like it didn't happen.

»» Unlike Inuyasha, Sesshomaru would already know this concept from his father. Since Inuyasha never met his dad, I think the obsession would be all news for him and he might get overwhelmed. Which would not happen with Sesshomaru.

»» Like, don't get me wrong, I think he would avoid "activating" his obsession because for him feelings and emotions are unnecessary and he doesn't need or want that. He's also very much anti-social, so it might take a while for him to find his obsession.

»» And for it to work he would have to find them after finding and adopting Rin, because he only became more accepting of people in general after her, principally human. If Alpha is a Yokai things would probably be easier for them, but if they're a human Jaken will make their life harder (and perhaps annoy everybody).

- Tōga:

»» This is also complicated to think about, cause adding a third party to his story would probably mess up the entire anime, considering that he would have to meet his obsession before he dies.

»» So basically we have two scenarios, one which doesn't disturb the canon as much and the other that probably will. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to not change the story of the anime on this one.

»» So, the first scenario is a little bit long so bear with me. Tōga and Sesshomaru's mom only married for power or political purposes, so both of them knew that there was no love in the relationship (I do believe this is canon, but I haven't seen confirmation). Some years later he meets Izayoi (Inuyasha's mom) and he thinks that he has "activated" his obsession, while Izayoi was pregnant, Tōga was fighting the dragon Ryūkotsusei, and in this battle, he met his actual obsession. Who would have seen and heard the fight and decided to help Tōga defeat the dragon, and also helped on saving Izayoi and Inuyasha.

»» Still in the first scenario, this could end two ways, either both Alpha and Tōga die because of the number of lethal wounds they have, or both end up surviving and escaping with Izayoi and raise Inuyasha together. Just an addon to this, I do believe that both Tōga and Izayoi are omegas, and in my universe, male omegas can impregnate others (that can get pregnant, obviously).

»» The second scenario is a lot shorter, but Alpha is Inuyasha's and Sesshomaru's parent, just because I want them both to exist in all scenarios. So if Alpha is either a human or a yokai would probably change the outcome of this, but I do think they would all be a loving family, which is kind of a weird concept considering that Sesshomaru and Inuyasha hate each other in the anime.

- Sebastian:

»» I'm gonna be completely honest, this is heavily influenced by a mod that I installed that makes Seb completely obsessed with the farmer, so this is the only reason why he is here.

»» I don't think this would run in his family, is his thing, but it might also happen to his children, so this genetic obsession might start with him and go for the future generations.

»» From this list, his obsession is the most similar to Shikamaru's, if not more intense, he is a very socially anxious person who only has two actual friends and spends the majority of his days in his room hidden from everyone and everything. He even got a job where he doesn't need to be talking to people or leaving his room.

»» It would be the first time he meets someone and has clear feelings for them, so it would be overwhelming to him and he would not know what to do, but would still try to spend as much time with his obsession as physically possible.

»» Now this would be weird for both Alpha and Seb, considering nobody else in the town has an obsession and he never acted like this towards anybody or thing.

I haven't been on this platform in years and slowly started making posts and reblogs again. Most of the accounts I did follow back then are either gone, or no longer active. So I'm listing EVERY THING I'm into, so I can follow people back with similar tastes and interests. Consider it a get to know me things whole I make updates. Hapuriainen's animation, comics & games of 2022

It feels every year these get shorter and later... but better late than never!

Anime: 

Ranking of Kings, Magia Record s3, Machikado Mazoku s2, Futari wa Precure Max Heart, Delicious Party Precure, Spy x Family (part 1), Tiger & Bunny s2 (part 1), Yashahime s2, Magic User's Club, Tokyo Mew Mew New

Overall Yashahime was a disappointment but at least the Moroha stuff was good. As for Tiger & Bunny it was a delight to have Kotetsu back since this was my number one series back when the first season came out, but the netflix release model really killed all momentum it could have had and I still haven't managed to watch the second half.

Webcomics: 

Magical Mom, Cloudy Wondrous, Apricot Cookie(s)!, Strawberry Seafoam, Miss Guillotine

This year I read a lot of webcomics, which has been documented on my magical girl tumblr. On the manga front there wasn't anything new but I still continue with many series from past years. A shoutout to One Piece for having its worst year to date but at least the Wano arc is now finally over.

Movies: 

Encanto, Turning Red, Lightyear, some Precure movies, Children of the Sea

Games: 

Zelda Skyward Sword, Link's Awakening, New Pokemon Snap, Hyrule Warriors DE, Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, Pokemon Scarlet

Overall this has been a Game year (rather than anime or manga). I learned that nowadays games save on the console and not the cartridge so I could borrow games from the library and only buy them myself if I liked them enough (and then continue on the same save file). Unfortunately this was after I spent money on Skyward Sword which was not worth the 60€, meanwhile New Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Let's Go were enjoyable for the price tag of 0€ and Hyrule Warriors I had to get for myself and now I have over 100 hours on it. And Pokemon Scarlet was surprisingly fun too.

The awards:

Best work: I guess I have to give this to Hyrule Warriors since I've played it unexpectedly much, the story was dumb but I'm having a lot of fun in Adventure Mode.

Best music: Tal Tal Heights from Link's Awakening, Hyrule Warriors in general having a lot of good music, Area Zero music from Pokemon. Also the Bruno song.

Best visuals: Strawberry Seafoam for reminding me of retro girl shows

Best character design: Cloudy Wondrous, a very cute and creative magical girl look

Best OP: Spy x Family, the song is mellow and fun and the visuals are great

Best ED: Spy x Family for the visuals, no real standout songs this year

Biggest WTF: Children of the Sea overall, what even happened in that movie??

Best Girl: Kuroe from MagiReco

Best Boy: Ehh let's go with Bruno

Best Side Girl: the queen from Ranking of Kings being a surprising highlight of the whole show

Best Side Boy: Arven from Pokemon seemed super cringe at first sight but his bread storyline turned out to be the best part of the whole game. Also Groose from Zelda

Worst Girl: No total duds this year, let's go with Yui from Precure. Or Yuuko from Machikado Mazoku

Worst Boy: n/a

Worst Side Girl: Cia from Hyrule Warriors with her dumb outfit. Or (I'm sorry I know she's popular) Iono from Pokemon kind of annoys me... Oh right also Fi

Worst Side Boy: Trace from Pokemon Let's Go was a major disappointment for a final boss and it didn't really feel anything beating him. Also Porun from Precure

Best romance: For the first time in years I have a ship (botw Link and Zelda) but since I didn't play it this year, let's say that Loid and Yor are always a delight to see in how positive and respectful their relationship is

Best non-romantic relationship: the Spy x Family family stuff

Worst romance: Hyrule Warriors making it a plot point that the game's Link and Zelda will end up as a couple but giving them zero chemistry or development

Worst non-romantic relationship: Yashahime for keeping the new heroines separate from their parents 99% of the time

Plans for 2023:

Botw 2 can’t come out soon enough

Housing Complex C EP#02 - Mismatched Buttons:  As Hideo’s disappearance is unofficially shrugged off by the police, Kimi tries to ease tensions between the tenants and Mr. Koshide‘s interns with a shaved ice party. But as preparations are made, the senior tenants decide to investigate the strange piles of dead fish on the property and assume one of the interns is responsible, only for the mystery to deepen as one of them decides to stand guard. The party commences with Kentaro Yoshii realizing something is wrong when the shaved ice syrup tastes strange, finding his follow tenant’s apartment growing moss while the syrup is revealed to contaminated with a dog’s severed head.

Yashahime: The Second Act EP#34 (10) - Battle on the New Moon, Part 1: Moroha, Takechiyo and Hachiemon are on their way to recover her shortbow and arrows from the rogue raccoon-dog Sh?gen Mamaiana and take shelter in a cave. In an inn, Setsuna is hauled up as she experiences what is like to be fully mortal for the first time in an entire decade; her already long black hair hair growing to nearly reach her caves and her eyes turning from blue to brown. Knowing how useless she is, Setsuna gives Hisui written instructions on how to deal with the demons that have come for. While building a hang guilder, Hachiemon tells Moroha the story about how the Sh?gen and Full Moon Raccoon-Dog, the guardian spirit of the whole tribe, were defeated by Inuyasha and Kagome, Miroku and Sango. Inuyasha had used his Wind Scar against Sh?gen, giving him the scar on his forehead. With help from Hachiemon, Kagome had managed to immobilize the Full Moon Raccoon-Dog in a pillar of mighty spiritual power and have him fully absorbed within a scroll which was later strengthened somewhat with Miroku's help. Wanting more information on how to put an end to this feud, Moroha has Takamaru the Falcon find either Miroku or Sango, to ask just how Sh?gen and his demonic magic were defeated. Meanwhile, an equally powerless Towa expresses her deep concerns over her twin sister finally experiencing the effects of the new moon since her Dream Butterfly was cut down. However, she is abducted and taken to Nanaoshi's mansion, where Zero attempts to use what Towa has learned from seeing her memories within the Silver Rainbow Pearl that she has something within her left eye for a whole decade to help Nanahoshi further his own power by feasting on her enduring sadness and unpredictability.

Lupin the 3rd Part 6 EP#23 - The Memories of a Beloved Witch: Lupin, Goemon, and Jigen encounter Zenigata, revealing he's chasing Mattea, who apparently stabbed Ariana and killed Hazel, to Lupin's shock. Zenigata shows him Arianna's recording, and when Lupin hears the words from his mother's poem containing a hypnotic suggestion, he attacks Zenigata and his colleagues, and escapes with Mattea's help. Zenigata interviews Mercedes in prison about Tomoe and discovers a link to Mahiko Village, Jigen and Goemon seek help from the Professor, who wants to learn more about Lupin's past, and Fujiko attempts and fails to reason with Lupin. As the hypnotized Lupin makes his way toward Tomoe, he starts to believe that she is his true biological mother, forced to hide it by his grandfather, and that the contents she stole from his safe was proof of the parentage. He arrives in the village and greets an aging Tomoe, who explains her death was faked by convincing a dupe to take her place. Mattea then arrives and shoots Lupin who falls over the balcony. As Tomoe stands by unsympathetically, she explains to Mattea that she tutored women from different countries to carry a code in different languages that would lead Lupin, her son, back to her. As Mattea prepares to kill Tomoe, she is surprised when Lupin returns after surviving the gunshot, as the two face down.

They even managed to make the Goshinboku, a fucking tree, feel out of character. Do you have any idea how blatantly incompetent you have to be in order to achieve that?

Last episode sounded like as much of a mess as the rest of the show, color me not surprised. Betting money they never filled any of the plot holes that have dogged this terrible show since the first season either.

Listen fam, I would watch Dragonball GT ten times in a row rather then watch one more episode of Yashahime. So yeah if this shitty show ends up getting a third season it will be proof that real evil exists in this world.

I love the show's logic that Kagome and Inuyasha would just help their daughter pay back the debt rather than hunting down Koga, the man who put her in the position or just straight up threaten the guy who holds the debt against her.

I have arrived at the Yashahime is Over Party! I never, ever wanted a sequel, I was much happier with my own opinions and headcanons as to what happened after the show was over. (As I'm sure many fans were.) InuYasha has always been this great, big sandbox, where you can do whatever you want. Yashahime basically came in and stomped on everybody's fun time, so now I'm just trying to rebuild what I had! This rewrite isn't exactly my thoughts to a T on what I think should have happened at the end, rather, I tried to keep in mind the premise of Yashahime and just... fix it!

I know that my likes and opinions tend to be a bit disjointed from the rest-- for example, I LOVED the filler episodes. To this day, some of my favorite episodes that I go back to rewatch have been filler. I like slow and steady, I like lots and lots of dialogue. But Yashahime? Not like this. Never like this. For my rewrite, this is no longer a fantasy romance action adventure whatever. This is slice of life.

For my rewrite, Moroha becomes the main character. The story follows her as she travels around Japan, basically meeting old friends of her folks, and meeting some new ones along the way. InuKag and MirSan live generally happy, peaceful lives, with the Root Head demon being the last of their major problems for a long while.

I love the idea that with InuYasha and Kagome being a committed couple in an "unusual" relationship with an "unusual" daughter, Kaede's village over time becomes a safe haven for weak demons, half demons, and like-minded humans. It expands into a vast and bustling town, with plenty of colorful characters in addition.

Sango spends a lot of her day training Hisui and Gyokoto. She doesn't go out herself much anymore, and has basically passed the torch to her children and, of course, younger brother. Her time is mostly spent now creating and repairing weapons, though her real passion is in experimenting with fabrics to create stronger, more resistant material. Miroku continues to travel (so long as he stops by to say hello to his wife once and awhile) alongside his daughter Kin'u, who basically apprentices under him. He's so proud of who she's become.

Moroha is at that age where she longs to see the world outside their humble home. She packs her things, says goodbye to her mom and dad, and sets off. I can totally see her keeping the bounty hunter job as it would be a great way for her to make money on her own. And with her being loved and reasonably fed, whenever she loses a head, it can *actually* be funny. She still uses the rouge to become Beniyasha in tough times, but without the red pearl. (No pearls in this, the pearls are stupid.) She made a promise with her momma to only use the rouge in DIRE situations, since it can be dangerous. Of course, she's looked over by grandpa Myoga... and Shippo!

Shippo is much older now, but given that he's a demon (and I do subscribe to the demons age slower HC, despite the shit I give it) he appears to be around, or a little younger than Moroha. They're about equal in power which means they have to work together a lot to get out of sticky situations. They act as brother and sister since Shippo was basically adopted by InuKag, so there's no romance between them. It's purely familial.

Over the course of the series, Moroha meets old characters, both filler and canon, from the OG series. (Some Shippo recognizes, some he doesn't.) They help out with whatever problem-of-the-week is going on, as the episodes are primarily laid back and focused more on character interaction and development. They meet old faces like Jineji, Botan and Momiji, Kanta, Bunza, and even Shiori!

Shiori would have an episode or two, going more in depth on half demons and their human nights.

To keep the "mystery" aspect Sunrise TRIED to do while also putting a long term goal/conflict in the show to prevent it from getting boring, I would include Towa/Setsuna. But here's the kick-- I would combine them into one character.

Zetsumetsuko would sometimes run into our main cast and cause issues, mostly based on what the audience infers is some kind of misunderstanding or jealousy. This character will butt heads with Moroha, similar to how InuYasha and Sesshomaru were, but with her having a bit more sass.

Moroha says they smell familiar, but she can't place her finger on it. Zetsumetsuko tends to say some cryptic stuff, saying she knows some info that Moroha doesn't. This character is basically a wild card, and is to keep the audience on their toes. It is of course, later revealed that this character is the daughter of Sesshomaru. (Not that it's hard to guess, haha.) It happens when the main cast run into Rin. Zetsumetsuko appears to try and cause more trouble, only for Rin to excitedly shout, "Sister!" And begin doting upon her.

With tensions eased, the characters manage to sit and chat calmly. Zetsumetsuko feels like she doesn't belong, and struggles to find a place in the world similar to InuYasha. They barely knew their own father, raised primarily by Rin and Jaken. She doesn't even know her own mother. Zetsumetsuko has been following Moroha out of a sense of jealousy, since they're related but their paths have been so different. She basically reveals how lonely she's been, too. Which leads to her joining the group!

I wanted to introduce Zetsumetsuko as the daughter of Sesshomaru at the same time I introduced Rin as her sister, basically cutting Rin out of the running for potential mother right away.

The mother would be Kagura, who... I don't have a design for, ah! I heard a lot of talk and rumors about Kagura having become a goddess and I think I would apply that idea to my rewrite. It would explain why Kagura wasn't around for Zatsumetsuko growing up. Ah, now I have to make a Goddess!Kagura design, hahaha.

In conclusion, my sequel would be made purely for nostalgia's sake. No retcons, barely even touching the original plot of InuYasha. It would be a way to see the old cast through new characters, who would be charming in their own right without relying on their parents, and would allow us to revisit one-off and filler characters again. The sequel wouldn't be a necessary watch to enjoy InuYasha, it would just be a way for fans to go, "Oh, I remember that character! Good times!"

I worked really hard on the character designs and thinking about their personalities and how they fit in, so if you haven't yet, it would be nice if you took a look at the links I put in and read a bit more about their characters! Setsuna’s final expression is so calm, despite the gore staining her chest. A purposeless sacrifice, all motives and determinations disregarded - as senseless as the disappearance of his brother and the miko into the pearl. 

Towa screams, curling over her sister’s body. Moroha shakes and whimpers, though this is simply yet another trauma on her small shoulders. 

Sesshomaru remains silent, though he knows he should not. 

Why is he doing nothing? Why doesn’t he feel anything, why doesn’t he care - 

Sesshomaru wakes with a rough gasp, ripping the blanket clear off the mattress. Bakusaiga and Tenseiga sit quietly against the wall beside the bed, and he grips the hilt of the former so tightly that his knuckles crack.

The bedroom door creaks open, and he flinches sharply.

“Oi, what’s the matter with you?” Kagura’s voice is no less harsh in a whisper. One hand holds the folds of her sleeping kimono tight across her body; the other carries her fan, folded in a clear sign that there is no remaining danger. “You’ll wake the entire castle.”

The emotions that evaded him in the dream (one of the most drawn-out and detailed, yet also the most disturbing, that he has ever experienced) are horrifically potent now that he is awake. Setting Bakusaiga back in its place by the wall, he silently commands the thudding of his pulse to calm. His wife watches him collect himself incredulously; her scarlet eyes move through the dark like stars. 

“It is late,” he says, instead of explaining. Her lips begin to form the typical response (yeah, no shit) before he continues. “Where did you go?” 

“Rin’s room. She had a nightmare, too.” Kagura comes over and yanks the blankets back into their rightful place, knocking his pillow dangerously close to the edge of the bed. Her sleeve slips to show off a criss-cross of white scarring - the sole remnant of her resurrection. Like what’s left of a fish after the hook goes in, she likes to joke. “It was a bad one - if she was younger, I think she would have crawled into bed with us.”

Unease crawls up the ladder of his spine. The nightmare’s plot surges forth again: his niece, dismissed and uncared for; his children, abandoned and distant. Rin, a child bride, no life to speak of - and her abuser? 

None other than himself. 

The fact that it is not real (not for him, nor her, but perhaps for someone else, somewhere) does nothing to prevent an urgent horror from settling in. Sesshomaru speaks before he can stop himself. 

“Perhaps she should not visit anymore.”

Kagura straightens, surprise plain on her face. “Why would you say something stupid like that?” 

Normally, he’d bristle at the insult to his intelligence. But the pure fear that he has, that his brain could be capable of concocting such a version of reality even unconsciously, undermines every other instinct that he has. 

“She must feel unsafe. She is having bad dreams.”

“Everybody does. You just did.” In a sharp movement, her fan is pointed in a direct line at his chest. “About something weird...is that why you’re acting so strange?” 

Adrenaline waltzes with the poison in his blood. He can hardly bring himself to say it. 

“I hurt her. Along with many others. It must never happen.” 

Kagura’s arm drops, and she looks at him for a long time. Perhaps because she doesn’t understand. Perhaps because she does.

In the end, she just shakes her head and crawls in beside him. “Eh, don’t worry about it. I’d murder you if I thought that would ever happen.” After another moment, her teeth flash in his direction. “If Kagome didn’t get to you first.” 

That is true, and so he allows himself to find comfort in it.

“Now, stop fussing and go back to sleep.” Yawning, Kagura slips under his arm to rest her head against his chest. Not for the first time, Sesshomaru wonders what her dreams entail. 

She never expresses bitterness regarding her resurrection, though the circumstances were not ideal: an attempt by a self-appointed disciple of Naraku to rebirth the monster, using the soul of his one surviving incarnation. The mistake had been twofold: the first, in dismissing Kagura’s strength of will to not be used as a vessel for her former master. The second, that Sesshomaru himself would allow such a thing. 

Jaken refers to the situation as yet another star in their constellation of bad luck. Sesshomaru privately holds the opposite opinion. 

“Stop thinking so loud,” she mutters, prodding his temple with one finger. “Or both of us will be up all night.” 

But the dream’s claws take hold again once she molds herself against him, and the curve of her abdomen pushes against his ribs. Yet another thing that she has brought him, that Jaken bemoaned; unintentional on both their parts, but welcome nonetheless. Though there are more than a few months to go before they will meet the child growing within her, he can sense from the demonic energy that it is strong.

It is not inconceivable that there could be two.

Two daughters of Sesshomaru, walking alone in a forest. Forced into separate points in the cycle of time. Lying in a field of flowers, one dead and one grieving.

His heart aches. 

“Kagura.” 

“Ugh, what.” 

“You were not there.”

“When?”

“In my dream.”

“Oh.” Yawning again, she reaches over to grab his arm, maneuvering it so that his palm rests on her pregnant belly. He does not know what comfort she finds in the action, since it places his poisonous claws in such close proximity that it should make any mother wary. “Well, if it was a bad dream, that makes sense. Your subconscious must know how lucky you are to have me.” 

“That is not what - “

“Hush.”  She presses down hard on his knuckles, only relinquishing her grip when he starts to move his hand in a slow circle. With a sigh, her eyes flutter closed. 

It would contradict her theory to explain that the little kitsune who follows his brother made zero appearance as well. 

But Sesshomaru will wait until the morning to mention that.
