Hey guys, @kiwi--witch, @emberstreak and I came up with a fun idea for the weekend of HNY's final episode! We've all somewhat been through hell with the blatant, unashamed destruction this sequel has brought to a franchise we all grew up loving so much and I am so sure that many of you have had ideas on how things could have and should have been written. Well, to celebrate that it's now ✨finally fucking over✨, we're hosting an Inuyasha Fix It event, quite literally a yashahime-is-over-party.

There is only one prompt: Into Forever (What Should Have Happened)

It starts March 20th, 6PM Japan Time (aka when the final episode ends) and is open ended! (you know, like a proper party.) So there is no rush to post something right away.

The idea is really just for all of us to come together to share and exchange our own fix-it scenarios, no matter the ship (except you-know-who), no matter if it's just textposts, art, fanfics, edits, etc. Vent your frustrations, pick and choose your own headcanons, pretend Inuyasha ended in 2010, whatever you want! Make sure to tag it with #hnyisoverparty to join the fun ♡ The event is also gonna be happening on Twitter under the same hashtag.

This is my contribution to the Yashahime is Over Party. So, if I could fix HnY, it would be something like this:

Rin wouldn´t be the mother. She would be the third sister. 

Rin would be a miko or a demon slayer and would help the twins by giving them information or join them on their journey.

Moroha would not have been sold as slave and Koga would be there protecting her and being a good father figure to her.

The twins would ask questions and they would like to know what happened to their parents.

Shiori wouldn't change her skin color when she transforms

The mother would be Kagura and Sesshomaru would have found a way to turn back time with his stupid wheel of time in order to save her.

All the women in the sequel would be named according to their own professions and achievements. Not in relation to a man. For example, Sango would be "Demon slayer, Sango" not "Miroku's wife, Sango"

BUT, if I had to completely redo HnY, then:

The protagonist would be Moroha

Inuyasha and Kagome would be there with her and we would see them experience parenthood and live as a family

Shippo would be Moroha's older brother and best friend

"Moroha's group" would consist of her, Shippo, Kin´u, Gyokuto, Hisui and miko or demon slayer Rin. And occasionally Kohaku.

Towa and Setsuna would not exist and Sesshomaru would not have married anyone or had children. I feel like he's not ready for marriage yet, and also he ALREADY HAS CHILDREN, he keeps learning how to be a better father to Kohaku and Rin (even when they are both "adults", they are still his children).He would be that figure that Moroha has to seek and ask for help at some point and he would appear to help the group in the most difficult moments.

If there must be twins being separated, then they would be the twins of Sango and Miroku. But they would have an interesting story and a happy ending.

my late contribution for the Yashahime Is Over Party:

His daughter is dead. 

His daughter is dead. 

Setsuna’s final expression is so calm, despite the gore staining her chest. A purposeless sacrifice, all motives and determinations disregarded - as senseless as the disappearance of his brother and the miko into the pearl. 

Towa screams, curling over her sister’s body. Moroha shakes and whimpers, though this is simply yet another trauma on her small shoulders. 

Sesshomaru remains silent, though he knows he should not. 

Why is he doing nothing? Why doesn’t he feel anything, why doesn’t he care - 

Sesshomaru wakes with a rough gasp, ripping the blanket clear off the mattress. Bakusaiga and Tenseiga sit quietly against the wall beside the bed, and he grips the hilt of the former so tightly that his knuckles crack.

The bedroom door creaks open, and he flinches sharply.

“Oi, what’s the matter with you?” Kagura’s voice is no less harsh in a whisper. One hand holds the folds of her sleeping kimono tight across her body; the other carries her fan, folded in a clear sign that there is no remaining danger. “You’ll wake the entire castle.”

The emotions that evaded him in the dream (one of the most drawn-out and detailed, yet also the most disturbing, that he has ever experienced) are horrifically potent now that he is awake. Setting Bakusaiga back in its place by the wall, he silently commands the thudding of his pulse to calm. His wife watches him collect himself incredulously; her scarlet eyes move through the dark like stars. 

“It is late,” he says, instead of explaining. Her lips begin to form the typical response (yeah, no shit) before he continues. “Where did you go?” 

“Rin’s room. She had a nightmare, too.” Kagura comes over and yanks the blankets back into their rightful place, knocking his pillow dangerously close to the edge of the bed. Her sleeve slips to show off a criss-cross of white scarring - the sole remnant of her resurrection. Like what’s left of a fish after the hook goes in, she likes to joke. “It was a bad one - if she was younger, I think she would have crawled into bed with us.”

Unease crawls up the ladder of his spine. The nightmare’s plot surges forth again: his niece, dismissed and uncared for; his children, abandoned and distant. Rin, a child bride, no life to speak of - and her abuser? 

None other than himself. 

The fact that it is not real (not for him, nor her, but perhaps for someone else, somewhere) does nothing to prevent an urgent horror from settling in. Sesshomaru speaks before he can stop himself. 

“Perhaps she should not visit anymore.”

Kagura straightens, surprise plain on her face. “Why would you say something stupid like that?” 

Normally, he’d bristle at the insult to his intelligence. But the pure fear that he has, that his brain could be capable of concocting such a version of reality even unconsciously, undermines every other instinct that he has. 

“She must feel unsafe. She is having bad dreams.”

“Everybody does. You just did.” In a sharp movement, her fan is pointed in a direct line at his chest. “About something weird...is that why you’re acting so strange?” 

Adrenaline waltzes with the poison in his blood. He can hardly bring himself to say it. 

“I hurt her. Along with many others. It must never happen.” 

Kagura’s arm drops, and she looks at him for a long time. Perhaps because she doesn’t understand. Perhaps because she does.

In the end, she just shakes her head and crawls in beside him. “Eh, don’t worry about it. I’d murder you if I thought that would ever happen.” After another moment, her teeth flash in his direction. “If Kagome didn’t get to you first.” 

That is true, and so he allows himself to find comfort in it.

“Now, stop fussing and go back to sleep.” Yawning, Kagura slips under his arm to rest her head against his chest. Not for the first time, Sesshomaru wonders what her dreams entail. 

She never expresses bitterness regarding her resurrection, though the circumstances were not ideal: an attempt by a self-appointed disciple of Naraku to rebirth the monster, using the soul of his one surviving incarnation. The mistake had been twofold: the first, in dismissing Kagura’s strength of will to not be used as a vessel for her former master. The second, that Sesshomaru himself would allow such a thing. 

Jaken refers to the situation as yet another star in their constellation of bad luck. Sesshomaru privately holds the opposite opinion. 

“Stop thinking so loud,” she mutters, prodding his temple with one finger. “Or both of us will be up all night.” 

But the dream’s claws take hold again once she molds herself against him, and the curve of her abdomen pushes against his ribs. Yet another thing that she has brought him, that Jaken bemoaned; unintentional on both their parts, but welcome nonetheless. Though there are more than a few months to go before they will meet the child growing within her, he can sense from the demonic energy that it is strong.

It is not inconceivable that there could be two.

Two daughters of Sesshomaru, walking alone in a forest. Forced into separate points in the cycle of time. Lying in a field of flowers, one dead and one grieving.

His heart aches. 

“Kagura.” 

“Ugh, what.” 

“You were not there.”

“When?”

“In my dream.”

“Oh.” Yawning again, she reaches over to grab his arm, maneuvering it so that his palm rests on her pregnant belly. He does not know what comfort she finds in the action, since it places his poisonous claws in such close proximity that it should make any mother wary. “Well, if it was a bad dream, that makes sense. Your subconscious must know how lucky you are to have me.” 

“That is not what - “

“Hush.”  She presses down hard on his knuckles, only relinquishing her grip when he starts to move his hand in a slow circle. With a sigh, her eyes flutter closed. 

It would contradict her theory to explain that the little kitsune who follows his brother made zero appearance as well. 

But Sesshomaru will wait until the morning to mention that.

Moroha: Daughter of Twisted Time (Yashahime-Rewrite)

Bullet point Yashahime ideas inspired by @loveyou-x3000 and their Yashahime bullet points!!! I wrote these down last night, and I thought it'd be cool to write my ideas down in the spell-book like journal/sketchbook instead of typing them up on Tumblr. Mostly because these ideas are out of order and are simply possible aspects of my rewrite that might not even make in the final product, if I even ever decide to actually write a Yashahime rewrite. Plus, I just wanted an excuse to actually use and show off my spell-book okay!?

Also just realized I wrote this stuff down just in time for the HNY-is-Over-Party!!!!!! Sorry if the writing gets hard to make out; zoom into the photos for better quality.

So that's what I have so far! The ideas that end with ??? are ideas that I'm not sure if I want to include, or there are alternate ideas that I'm considering as opposed to the written idea. For example, while I don't dislike the Sesshomaru twins, I'm unsure if I even want them in my rewrite or if I want to combine them to make 1 character.

When I have a more determined and clear idea of where I want my rewrite to go, I will actually post bullet points that are typed out so that you guys can actually see what I'm thinking of doing. I'm not making any promises that I will actually write a fanfic for this rewrite, but I just wanted to got ahead and write down ideas so that I have at least a blueprint that I can go ahead and reference if I do sit down and write a full story.

I'm hesitant because, apart from school, life, and writing The Witch's Daughter, I'm worried of making the same mistakes sunrise did in regards to overpowering and mary-suing the next generation characters, particularly the Shessomaru twins (which is why I'm on the fence about including them at all), and I'm just concerned having too big a cast of characters will be overwhelming. If any of you guys can help me figure out how to do multiple characterizations, please advise me!

I'll also be posting drawings I've done for my personal post-canon InuKag family that feature my own InuKag kid OC, Katsumi, for the HNY-is-Over-Party later on as well, so keep an eye out for that if your interested!

Sorry if this post was long, I just felt like I needed to explain some things. If I do end up writing this rewrite into a fanfic, it'll most like be after I've completed or at least almost completed The Witch's Daughter. Only time will tell, I guess (no pun intended).

The most disgusting thing is that Sunrise chose to do HNY this way. They CHOSE to make Rin incredibly young. They chose to draw her looking that young at birth. They chose to parallel ROMANTIC InuKag scenes w/ scenes of 8-YEAR-OLD Rin & Sesshoumaru, making those look like they're SUPPOSED TO BE ROMANTIC TOO.

They CHOSE to show her as a little 11-year-old making GRABBY HANDS towards her ADULT GUARDIAN who would fuck her 4 years later.

Absolutely fucking nothing stopped them from setting HNY way into the future when she'd at least be AN ADULT TOO. They chose not to. They chose to consistently keep reminding us of child!Rin. They even fucking sold merch of her as a little child. Her character STILL begins & ends with Sesshoumaru. There is ZERO development. Rin has no personality whatsoever.

She worships the ground he walks on & they chose for her to become a babymaker for him. & then he took the kids away from her & she said NOTHING AGAINST IT like the submissive, blindly trusting, young CHILD she is. She speaks like a child IN the birthing scene!

Sesshoumaru spent more time with his wife when SHE was a child than he did with his own kids. Let that sink in. & then Rin is frozen in time so that when (if) she's released she will be the SAME age or maybe 1 year older than her children.

But Sunrise chose this. Sunrise chose to milk an entire generation's childhood nostalgia in order to cater a show that is 100% a cashgrab towards a group of people they knew was gonna celebrate that a grown man fucked a minor.

When designing Rin as a Demon Slayer, I put a lot of thought into how she might style her hair and these are the designs that came to mind. I ultimately went with the low ponytail seen on the left in the first set since that seemed the most like her style, but I thought the others would look super cute on her too (I like to think that she’d alternate depending on how she’s feeling that day). I included a pixie cut look as a bonus because I remember someone requested to to see her with short hair, so here you go!

In regard to her weapon, I thought that a long-distance weapon would be more suitable for her than a close-combat weapon. Although her boomerang is about half the size of Hiraikotsu, it still packs quite a punch! I gave her a smaller boomerang because let’s be real, Sango’s a beast who just makes yeeting hers look easy.

Before I get too distracted by my new favorite word lol, let me get to the reason why I'm here. I wasn't actually planning on participating in this event aside from liking/commenting on what the rest of y'all put out there. Then this idea came to me a couple of days ago and I thought why not? For those of you who weren't around in the tags at the time, I was quite the active blogger from May of last year up until the sequel's premiere. So I figured it would be kinda cool to share and revisit some of my anti-SR ramblings in celebration of the first season ending a week ago. 🎉

It's going on almost a year now, and still I'm so inspired and impressed by everybody and their sheer awesomeness. Be it with your insightful musings, clever theories, wildly hilarious memes, lovely fan art- you name it! There are no words to express how beyond grateful I am to all of the wonderful people I have met since the start of this all. I couldn't have survived Yashahime without each and every one of you. Into Forever

The comet comes seven years after Naraku’s defeat...

For long lived youkai, the comet was a once in a lifetime event.

 For humans, it was something that came only once every twenty generations.

 In either case, it was surely not something to miss.

 His mother had mentioned it the last time he’d seen fit to visit. And he’d made the mistake of mentioning it to Rin. Who had told Kohaku. Who’d told his sister, and then the news had gotten out of control very, very quickly from there. Until his brother’s wife was practically pulling at his sleeve asking him when and how he knew and “oh gosh, it must be      beautiful”    and then some exclamations that she was surprised his mother still lived after Jaken opened his fat mouth.

And when he saw the sparkle in his sister-in-law’s eyes he knew where her thoughts led, and had never regretted a mistake more.
