season 3 is inherently flawed(and a rewrite/how i would fix it)

warning:this post is LONG. like...really REALLY long. it took me so long to write that i think i genuinely lost my mind and patience half way through because of how angry i got so i kept writing more. you have been warned!also feel free to criticize and disagree.i'm not a writer,and i don't know if i articulate my thoughts in the best way,but i tried.

so most of us agree that s3 is def the worst season of Galactik Football, right? The art and animation got worse, the editing was weird, and because the original writers of the series werent involved, the entire season was written like absolute shit: everything goes way too fast or way to slow, the characters are all assasinated or just act like braindead robots who do things for no apparent reason(aka because the plot is incapable of being organic so it needs to FORCE its characters into doing things they would never do if they had 2 braincells...) etc etc. But something i often find brought up as a positive is the concept of the season(NOT the execution) but honestly....im not sure i agree.

the concept of the season is that because of this new tournament, players with any kind of flux are allowed to play in any team! Now this sounds cool on paper...but in execution? not really. and thats not just because s3 is incompetent.

I think this concept doesnt work because it has nothing to do with the snow kids. Theyre the main characters, they should get the focus. Every SK already has the breath of akillian and they care about each other very much,they also work very well together because of this, so they dont have a reason to recruit new people, especially ones with different kinds of flux. Now, theres a solution to this: the dreaded moment where a character(or multiple characters) decide to leave the team to make way for the new character. But theres also a problem with that: people dont like it when you replace beloved characters with new ones(especially ones as bland and uninteresting as Lun-zia). SO the solution to THAT would be to show what that last character was up to after they left,just like before,in the previous seasons. but then that doesnt fix anything AT ALL actually,because the problem of sharing screentime is still there. You see the problem? for every problem solved at least 3 more show up. You cant fix something that wasnt broken,aka the SK team.

the characters that leave the SK are Mei(shadows), Yuki(electras(a team that we never heard of before so theres also that)), and Djok(who joins Paradisia,the most basic,boring rivals and villains this series has ever had. they are actually so bland that the writers made them part robot to justify just how 1 dimensional all their decisions are). The 1 who joins the SK is Lun-zia, a basic,bland character with no personality who only serves as a way for the writers to introduce the 500th boring ass love drama that goes nowhere. wonderful. You would think that after they set up that idea earlier,and with how bland Lun-zia is,that they would at least do something interesting with the concept,right? WRONG. They do absolutely nothing interesting with the mix flux idea in every team. It might as well not have been there.

[The reason why mix flux teams arent allowed in the cup is very simple, everything makes sense because the world pre s3 made sense. A person can join any team they like,as long as they switch to the flux of the team they are joining because they will be representing THAT PLANET. Its also the reason why the pirates dont use flux even though they probably have it: they represent Shiloe, a place with no flux of it own. If they were to use the flux,they would be using a flux that another team already has and is using to represent THEIR planet. (OH and yet another thing about s3 that doesnt make sense , if the pirates can use the flux now, WHY DONT THEY?? jfc every time u think u hit rock bottom this season suprises u with how horribly thought out it is)]

this all isnt even MENTIONING the fact that the tournament was USELESS. actual time wasting for almost the entire season. Because later on, after Paradisia gets fucked, Harris(the ACTUAL villain that HAD setup unlike the generic,out of nowhere, dumbass, out of place oc that is “Lord Phoenix/Magnus Blade”(god thats such a stupid fucking name)) forces the flux society to hold the GFC 3 years early(cuz the cup takes place every 4 years and s3 is set a year after s2) AND THEY DO. so....WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THE TOURNAMENT????!!!

I am actually going insane.this season is so bad. never have i seen such misuse of plot,worldbuilding,characters and setting. You have no idea how long this post is taking to write because as i keep writing i keep finding worse and worse things to say and keep coming to even more horrifying conclusions. its like a never ending pit, full of plot holes and ruined characters.Someone was paid to ruin this series.Let that sink in. But i think i will just give you a rewrite now. A basic fix that whatever lobotomite who wrote s3 couldnt be bothered with. Its very barebones so feel free to add on or tell me if its shit

HOW I WOULD FIX IT:

just drop the mix flux idea entirely. The cup would never allow it and in my universe the tournament wouldnt exist because it had no prior buildup and was completely useless. Instead of wasting time on that,empty romance subplots and annoying unfunny jokes, i would focus on the aspect of people leaving the team to join another that was never fleshed out. Also build up(in s3 Djok and Mei had their arguments basically off screen and the decision to leave was robotic and would absolutely never happen that fast, Also Yukis decision made no sense too and had no build up.)

The season would start with the GFC taking place 3 years early, everyone is confused and frustrated and unprepared. It would be a mystery until its revealed Harris blackmailed the flux society like he did in s3. Under the pressure, Djok would be an asshole which would then cause Mei to leave to join the shadows,albeit more slowly.Perhaps have her be manipulated/persuaded by Sinedd,he did always hang around people at their lowest points (Djok,Rocket).Plus i think Mei would be a lot more comfortable joining the shadows since she got used to coach Artegor in s2 which would help pursuade her. I always felt that the shadows should have gotten more focus for being the main rival team, and now we have a chance for that now that both Mei and Sinedd are there. Have the team interact! Show how Mei is adapting to the team/enviorment/flux. Also Mei and Sinedd dont need to date each other. Mei can be single,dammit.

Mei leaving because of Djok(and also dumping him) would be devestating to Djok as he can never admit to his wrongs. Yuki takes her place, but ultimately decides to leave because of the pressure and stress Djok is putting her in as well(in s2,he was being an asshole to her just for replacing Ahito while he was unwell,can you imagine how he would be if she were replacing his ex girlfirend instead?). Mark ends up taking the defense position and everyone, especially Micro Ice chew out Djok for one last time,telling him to stop being a selfish prick and that hes pushing everyone away(SERIOUSLY WE DONT NEED HIM TO LEARN THAT FOR THE FIFTH TIME). Rocket is the captain again because hes responsible.

We would focus a lot more on Yuki and Mei,as well as everyone dealing with the fact they will have to compete against their friends. Mei would be trying really hard to intergrate with the shadows even though she knows the smog is harmful to someone as emotional as her(maybe have her mom put pressure on her again because shes the defender in a new team which is bad for popularity,as well as Sinedd because hes just Like That.(yes,Mei is staying a defender in this.she has been established to be the best in defense and im not having Fulmugus pushed out of attacker position,hes still an attacker and captain)). Combine the stress of leaving her friends,breaking up with her bf,her mom putting pressure on her and joining a new team, and Mei is an emotional mess which isnt good because of the smog. Eventually she gives up and tells Sinedd (who she has formed a friendship with)as well s the rest of the team that she just cant deal with the smog and that she knows its bad for her,and that shes going back. Sinedd doesnt take this well because of his abandonment issues(i mean cmon...hes been abandoned by p much everyone except the shadows at this point) and basically starts a fight with her in the middle of traning. Sinedd blows up at her,calling her a coward and a quitter(because in his mind,the side effects dont matter,the most important thing is the tournament and he thinks shes using it as an excuse to abandon him) and Mei yells back at him that hes pushed everyone away just like Djok(OOO PARALLELS) which pisses Sinedd off more to the point where both of them are either on the verge of tears,or on the verge of fighting each other. The only thing holding them back is the other shadow players who have basically just been watching them like :0 this entire time. Thats when Artegor asks Mei if she wants to leave and go back to the SK. She says yes but doesnt know how to. Artegor gives her advice based on his own experiences(OOO PARALLELS EXCEPT WITH AARCH AND ARTEGOR THIS TIME). Mei would come back,but Djok is still cold towards her,except he regularly gets chewed out by the other SK for this which makes Mei feel better.

That entire yelling fit that happened with Sinedd would kick off his arc. That plot point in s2 where Artegor is being responsible with the smog and is worried for Sinedds health wouldnt be wasted. S2 didnt have time to show Artegor being a better coach and person to his team but I DO. Have Sinedd confused with how much better he treats them(kind of like in the fanfic “consequences” on ao3) and also kind of upset because he doesnt know how being cared for feels like!! he just thinks artegor has gotten soft and weak because he actually cares about sinedds health now. The shadows are confused too but mostly just concerned with Sinedd instead. Like...”yeah its normal for coaches to look out for ur health...we didnt tell u because we thought you knew and were just cool with Artegors harsh teaching methods”. So OOPS!! Sinedd finds out what having a family feels like and he doesnt know if he likes it !! feeling vulnerable and having people and parental figures care about you? disgusting...hes crying now and it kicked off his personality redemption arc

As for Yuki, i dont know what team she would join,or even if she would join a team at all. She doesnt do well under pressure. I would focus on her feeling like her only role in the team was being a replacement, first for Ahito,then Tia, then Mei. Those kinds of thoughts are a BITCH to deal with alone, so i would have someone in the SK(perhaps Mark,since he knows how it feels) seek her out and reassure her that the team still cares about her even if she left.

MORE THINGS HAPPEN IDK HOW TO CONTINUE

now u might be wondering how im ending this...im genuinely sorry but i have no idea. i havent finished watching s3 yet so i have nothing to work with or compare things to...again im sorry but im not a writer. The entire point of this post is to show i think s3 sucks so hard its actually mind numbing. I spent what feels like hours writing this post and my fingers hurt. Feel free to add on because im so tired i have no more steam left. Just so u know,i could GO ON about why s3 is horrible,i could fill one of those 3 hour youtube essays just with that,but as stated i am SO TIRED. s3 ruined a good show...its characters,worldbuilding,setting, EVERYTHING. And why? because instead of giving this last season to the og writers and ending it deserved, they got some fucking rando who writes worse scripts than i did in kindergarden. They ruined it. There probably should have been a clearer conclusion to this post but WHAT IS THE POINT. We all know s3 sucks ! it just sucks so hard that none of us can quite articulate all of it without our fingers falling off. Again,sorry for not ending this properly but i have lost what feels like all of my patience with s3 inhabiting any space in my mind...and also my fingers hurt

my first self ship fic (=^_^=) ; very self indulgent. i’ll probably write a part 2 for this.

2nd pov (you/your pronouns and occasionally they/he)

from outside the gym, all you could hear was balls bouncing on the ground, squeaky shoes and shouts of “mine” and “got it”.

you were planning to meet your boyfriends, hinata and kageyama after practice, but you were starting to get bored.

you didn’t want to just walk in there though, that’s scary, man. those players look 6ft tall and you’re only 5ft 3 (and 1/2). do the math.

but something in you wanted to see the practice. when you and your boyfriends had sleepovers, you only heard the excitement in hinata’s voice and interest in kageyama’s voice but you never got a chance to see it.

so.. naturally… you tried to jump up to the windows to see the practice… but you’re not hinata (not in this fic at least) however you are are as smart as him (sorry sho) .

so to bystanders, they just saw a little guy.. repeatedly jumping to see the windows and hold the rail.

um not to your knowledge, the volleyball ball coach, ukai, who you’ve never met before, is watching you and trying now to laugh.

but he remembers his job and straightens himself up.

“hey! what are you doing!”

you stop your efforts and slowly turning around.

“ um.. nothing. i was actually gonna go.”

you turn to run away but he grabs your collar.

“not so fast, why were you trying to look at our practice? are you from a another school?”

“ no! well yes! but i dont play volleyball so i’m not a rival.”

“hmmm let’s see what specks think of this.”

he says as he drags you towards the door.

“wait! no no ! stop ! don’t take me in there ! you’re gonna blow my cover!” you say as the glide your fingers on the smooth wall of the gym in a bad attempt to stop the coach from dragging you in there.

the door opened loudly and you could see the whole volleyball team turn towards the door.

“hey! do any of you boys know him!”

he pushes a bit into the door and you stand there, awkwardly.

“….hello.” you said while waving at the team.

you scan the gym and lock eyes with hinata first.

“sunny!” he said while running and jumping on you, resulting in you both falling.

you laugh at his excitement and sit up to greet him, “hi sho!”

you look to see your other boyfriend, “hi tobi!”

“oi, get off of them.” “awww c’mon, meanie-yama.”

kageyama grabs hinata off of you, helps you up, then gives you a hug.

“soooo who’s this guy?” tanaka said to nishinoya loudly.

before you could answer, hinata cuts in to say “oh, he’s our partner!” when he says ours he points his thumb at him and kags; you wave at the team again.

“you can stop waving kid.” “ well hey i don’t know what else im supposed to do!” “i like your wave.” “thank you, tobi.”

“so if you were their boyfriend, why didn’t you just come through the door?”

all eyes were on you, they did not know you were outside

“wait what were they doing?” suga asked

you said “nothing!” at the same time ukai said,“he was jumping at the window like a manic, trying to look inside.” “awww you didn’t have to tell them that” you said with your head down.

it was silent then everyone busted out laughing except you, hinata and kageyama.

“THEY WERE WHAT? HA NO WONDER THEY DATE HINATA, THEYRE JUST LIKE HIM!”

“moron, just come through the door next time” kageyama said while swatting your head.

“ow man!”

“hey what’s so wrong with being compared to me! hey baka-yama don’t hit them!”

hinata said while hugging you and rubbing your cheeks together.

kageyama then went to swat hinata’s head too

“ow! don’t hit me when i hugging them!”

“yea tobi! mean tobi! no hugs for you!”

then at the same time, you and hinata stuck your tongue out at kageyama.

kageyama was getting madder by the second.

“it’s like they all share one braincell, but i can’t tell who has it the most.” suga whispered to asahi and dachi

“probably kageyama.” dachi replied.

“wrong, i have it the most!” you said proudly while pointing to yourself.

everyone again busted out laughing.

“hmph mean teammates” you said while pouting. “cmere, sho and tobi, let’s decide whose the smartest.” you said while pulling them by the shoulder to huddle.

Hey so I’m still fixated on napoleonic history, somewhat, and well, I just kept finding more people to ship him with? These three are my main fixation though

I’m gaining more following on twitter (and here too i guess....1k wow T-T) so I can’t just keep doing my bullshit without properly introducing my ikevamp ocs can I??

Anyway

the Duke of Wellington, you know him, he shows up in the game. He defeated Napoleon in the battle of Waterloo and finally exiled him for good. He went on to have a strange interest in Napoleon (ex: owning a giant naked statue of Napoleon, displaying it on his living room). Theyre almost opposites in terms of personality. I ship them bc enemies to lovers is the good stuff.

Alexander I, he was the emperor of Russia at the time. Their army butted heads for a while before Napoleon and him agreed on a peace treaty. During the discussion, they’re both smitten. They kept their sentiments even during more tumultuous years, but it all broke off when Napoleon invaded Russia. Both have a hidden cunning side. Angst and complicated relationship is my food. (and theyre both emperors. i prefer balanced dynamic in my ships)

Jean Lannes, he’s one of many marshals of the empire. Friends since Napoleon’s general years. Even when Napoleon became his emperor he still doesn’t (can’t) change his attitude. Would readily call out on his bullshit and gets angry at him. Napoleon doesn’t mind. Together, they share one(1) braincell. He died before he could see Napoleon’s fall. The most lighthearted ship, but still lots of angst potential.

Ah... disaster couple

In other pairings they have someone to balance against their bastard energy (MK and Morpho respectively lol) so the two of them together is a hot mess.

Very... rowdy boys. Short tempers, Galacta especially, and they both like to be bothersome and push buttons so its common for them to set each other off lol. In a relationship they're not truly hostile/hateful to each other though! Theyre just both little shits with very big personalities. They lovingly make fun of each other a lot and I guess kind of enjoy getting into shouting matches over stupid shit. Yknow the video with the 2 guys fighting about the wizard of oz? Something like that lol.

And I mean really stupid shit sometimes. It's important to know they share 1 braincell. Just a pair of rude himbos...

I can imagine them going from cuddles to friendly wrestling and vice versa a lot. The shouting matches might turn into sparring/wrestling sometimes also. They both know the other can take it so they're just physically rough with each other. Especially when they... well, you know.

DMK's diet consists of a lot of fatty salty spicy food and carbs and oil and all that good shit, Gala's consists of anything he can get in his mouth pretty much. Gala probably loves DMK's cooking tbh. The two of them could eat so much together. They could drink a lot too...

Despite all the machismo I think they'd still be perfectly open and vulnerable with each other when it comes up. In a relationship DMK wouldn't be afraid to cry in front of Gala and Gala would feel comfortable and safe around DMK after a bout of sleep paralysis or night terrors. They both give good hugs. I can imagine Gala lifting shortie DMK a lot, he's a fatass but Gala is stronk.

They probably don't like snuggle/spoon when sleeping much, DMK tends to sleep on his stomach and Gala's limbs are all over the place, but maybe they end up holding hands in their sleep sometimes.

They are ride or die for each other and love ganging up on others that give either of them or anyone else they care about any shit. A force to be reckoned with for sure.

Also they both love bothering MK, even if one or both of them are also dating him lmao. It's just fun to lovingly torment MK.

they completely erased bev's character in the 2nd movie. in the first it was emphesized SO MUCH just how brave she was compared to the others. she took the first step, she wasnt afraid to go into the house she fought her abusive dad and in the 2nd movie it was all gone. i really liked the fact that bev wqsnt a damsel in distress until in the 2nd movie she was. while in the 1st movue you forgot that gender roles existed in the 2nd it really seemed like they wrote bev as a "woman" rather than "bev" you dig me??? okay rant over. basically fuck the 2nd movie bev and im not just saying this because her 1st movie actor made me realize i was a lesbian. on to the movie

and im just so mad? that eddie didnt get to live?? we didnt get an "i love you" or even a "im gay" from richie??? we didnt get to see them holding hands and letting go of their trauma together and being gay and happy yet

ben should have stayed fat or at least have abnornal weight because that also defeats his story with bev. it makes it seem that suddenly and magically when ben is hot bev can BEGIN to consider that she loves him.

mike is decent i guess? i like that he didnt stay with whoever the fuck that was in the first movie because he seemed very aggreasive to me. im glad the chose to research into pennywise because others were too stupid not to (RICH AND EDDIE GET A PASS AGAIN BECAUSE THEY SHARE HALF A BRAINCELL AND I LOVE THEM)

I cant help but imagine the hockeyhaus in such poor condition. Like theres holes everywhere and broken shit. But all of it is held together by a shitton on hockey tape and theyre just lucky theres like one eng major on the team to fix things as best as they can but ultimately their dumb jock energy is too much. I was on the hockey team in college and that was literally my life. I just wanted to tell u how accurate ur description of college hockey life is cuz we all really do share 1 braincell.

an andi mack reminisce + a thank you to you all

i wanted to write something just remembering all the experiences and joy ive had with this show and fandom as well as give thanks to every single one of you in the fandom. this is probably going to get Really Long so i’ll be putting this under a keep reading border so it doesnt clog up peoples dashboards :3

anyways, to start this long ramble off, i’ve been in this fandom for almost 2 years. i found andi mack through a “top ten gay disney characters” youtube video a day after season 1 episode 1 had aired while i was sick actually which is the absolutely weirdest way to find the show but im so happy i found it. i actually wasnt going to watch it originally but i saw a character i had never seen before in the thumbnail, and that peaked my curiosity. of course, this character was cyrus, and upon finding him and this show, i immediatly bingewatched every episode to get caught up to the storyline for cyrus, and i got hooked on the first episode. this show is so important to me for so many reasons, and im so incredibly greatful for how well everyone working on the show has done in bringing these characters to life to show so many important aspects of life. seeing topics such as being lgbt, anxiety, teen pregnancy, and learning disabilities being brought up as well as seeing such a diverse and amazing cast makes me so incredibly happy and i am so glad the kids watching this can get introduced to these things in such a good way. i was also very depressed when i had found andi mack, and it and its fandom helped me through all of that and i will always be greatful it was there in that point of my life. this show also has such relatable and great characters, and the actors to these characters are just as amazing. i was able to easily relate to andis love of crafts and arts, the loyalty of buffy, the awkwardness and kindness of cyrus, and also the complete dumbassary of season 1 jonah beck when i started watching. the characters have always been written in such an entertaining and great way too, so its always been easy to get immediately wrapped up in whatever a character may be doing or dealing with. seeing all of these characters develop and grow throughout these past few seasons has just been amazing to watch, especially since ive grown so attached to these characters. i also can relate a lot to the lgbt and anxiety storylines, as i am lgbt (bi and trans, yeehaw!!) and also deal with an anxiety disorder. watching cyrus deal with coming out multiple times and living his life as a newly discovered gay kid is just what i needed to see and relate to back when i was fresh into 8th grade and starting to get used to life after realizing i was bi, and i can relate to it even more now that ive realized im trans. with jonah, seeing him have such a realistically portrayed reaction to panic attacks as well as a very realistically portrayed panic attack in general was just the representation i needed, and helped to keep reminding me that all of what i deal with doesnt make me any less of a person. all of this representation being shown so well has made the experience of watching this show even better. and now, onto all of you guys!! :D when i first started watching this show all the way back at season 1 episode 1, i scrambled to find any other fans out there, and i started my search at tumblr. i was instantly welcomed with an excited and passionate fanbase that welcomed every new member with open arms and kindness. the fandom has always had a sense of us all being a tight-knit group, even with the fandom getting quite large now. also, with our fandom being so large now, you would expect a crazier fandom with more drama, but weve stayed so peaceful throughout the shows entire run, and i think thats really impressive!! honestly i feel like sticking through the hiatuses together has just made us an even tighter-knit andi mack fandom family and has also given us a l o t of patience DGKLJSDGLKG you all make such great content and ive never seen a fandom this passionate or dedicated before. the quality of fics, edits, art, animatics, animations, covers, theories, discussion and also baking in this fandom is incredible. being in this fandom has been so much fun and ive always been happy to come see whats in the tag everyday. its been a wild ride since the beginning of season 2 and you guys have made this fandom the best experience possible :D also some random memories: - y’all remember when tyrus was a crackship?? i remember shipping tyrus at the swingset scene and being so low on content in the tyrus tag omg, i still cant believe theyre finally becoming canon in just a few hours :,) - when we first started trending when cyrus came out to buffy.. that was WILD - DO YOU GUYS REMEMBER WHEN BEING AROUND YOU HAPPENED GLSJGDLKGD it feels like its been forever since that episode aired omg - m u f f i n t h e o r i e s - literally every time a promo released we all gained exactly one braincell hellbent on making as many theories as possible and we all shared it until the episode or episodes released - i remember when josh confirmed that cyrus would get an endgame and also crying a lot that day because of said confirmation - i remember being on vacation when the episode with cyrus talking to tj about his dyscalculia and i remember my brother wondering why i was freaking out DGKSHDSGK the fandom was wildin when that episode released its been a fun ride guys, and i hope we can keep the fandom alive for a long time after the finale :3
