long post?
Ok so while i do hate season 3, i do like the idea of D'jok being the one being manipulated by the seasons' main villain instead of Sinedd for once (not counting how it was done in s3, the rest of the post is gonna be completely detached from that. Actually now that i think about it after i wrote it, it's barely even about the first sentence in the post. I got carried away ok)
While it also serves as a parallel between Sinedd and D'jok(you tend to be open to being manipulated when you've lost your friends for one reason or another), it also kind of makes sense when you think about it in the context of the universe.
Like, why DID we need D'jok to relearn the "don't let the fame get to your head and don't be an asshole to your friends" thing again and again? The obvious, out of universe answer would be that the writers didn't know what to do with his character arc so they just repeated it, but that's the boring answer(though i do think it's the correct one).
Why DOES D'jok go through these constant relapses of character(which allow him to be vulnerable to manipulation in the first place)? i think an interesting concept would be that he's coping with the fact that he's unsatisfied with his life, at least later on, in season 2.
Maybe at the start, it was really just about fame getting to his head, which led to him damaging the relationship he had between him and his best friend, which led to Micro-ice running away, which snapped Djok out of it and made him rethink his values. If even his childhood friend couldn't stand his behavior anymore,so much that he'd RUN AWAY, then surely he was doing something horribly wrong. But everything turns out fine in the end and goes back to normal. Better than ever, even. His belief in fate and that he was destined to be something great is surely proven right. He's famous and rich now, he knows what happened to his biological parents, he's got a great friend group and a girlfriend who loves him. He couldn't have expected or wanted anything more.
Could he have, though? Him becoming the team captain after Rocket's disappearance in s2 was more stressful than he'd ever imagined it'd be, and he sees things in a different light while he cracks under the pressure. After four years of what seemed to be perfection, he's slipped back into his old habits again as a defense mechanism. Maybe he wasn't really that happy anymore. His friends sure weren't, and his outbursts didn't help. Not to mention his father getting framed for terrorism, and his friend becoming a completely different person than the one he once knew. But everything goes back to relative normalcy, through all the pressure, and his near death experience, the Snow Kids manage to barely get a win against the Xenons in the finale. Everyone's happy.
Except him, maybe. I imagine you tend to rethink your life when you almost die. Was all this trauma and pressure him and his friends were going through really worth it in the end? Surely it was, it had to be. He now had an adopted family, biological family, fame and money, it's all he could have dreamed of as a kid who believed in destiny on Akilian. So why wasn't he content with it? Why did he slip back into his old habits even though he logically shouldn't have, if he was happy?
Was it because what he thought to be fate wasn't as great as it once seemed? He knew this couldn't last forever. The Snow Kids were bound to lose their title eventually. If that was the case, then did it all really lead up to this? Did he really hit his peak so early? At the age of 21, or 16 even? Did he really go through all of this just to be remembered as someone who was a famous footballer at 16? Did he treat all of his friends like shit, go through all of the trauma he did, just for that? It couldn't be like that.
So he relapses to his old behavior to cope with such thoughts, which leads to tension between him and his friends and leaves him open to being a target of manipulation, especially by people who seem like they have his and his careers' best interest in mind. So instead of leaving his friends because of simple arguments, he leaves because of what was essentially a culmination of years' worth of insecurities. He eventually realizes though, hopefully for the last time, that his friends are more important to him than any idea of fame. Even though this wouldn't last forever, he's still got his friends who went through it with him together.

please rant about bubbline, i need a win
the brilliance of bubbline has been vastly misunderstood for years and i’ll explain. people see bubbline as your standard sapphic couple with no real depth, people see the pairing and go ‘gfs’ and move on HOWEVER they are so much more than just girlfriends. they are two immortal beings who for years have been wrapped around the other fingers and have had a relationship based on miscommunication until wrapping that up during the stakes era (varmints s7 is what confirms this but we get into that later)
so the entirety of bubbline is based on miscommunication and you may be wondering: aimsey, how? well that’s because of the fact both of the pair believed the other was in the wrong. but, for us to discuss this, i must explain their relationship in its entirety. we understand how long their relationship has truly been going on for when there is a clip in obsidian distant lands (ODS) where bubblegum catches marcys rock tshirt, both when the pairing are younger or well “a longer time ago” - this shows how long they’ve truly been in each others lives. now, fast forward to the scene we get in ODS where marceline and bubblegum argue over the sense of power, as well as immaturity. we see marceline wanting to just hang with her girlfriend, while in a disruptive manner, meant no harm, and we see bubblegum attempting to focus on work while accidentally shutting marceline down in the process. that quickly escalates into a full blown argument, and quotes like “you’re acting like monster trash” is thrown at marceline which, marcy being an angsty little half demon, didn’t take too lightly in which she responded to the comment with a song that basically says “nvm. you’re not cool. i’m glad i woke up. fuck you and your candy kingdom” and it ends with bubblegum breaking up with marcy. sad right? you haven’t seen anything yet
so now we move on to the tv show. the first we see of the two is the episode ‘go with it’ where marcy is asked to help finn in his adventure to try and ask out the princess. you may be wondering “huh? but if bubblegum is her ex why would she help-“ WRONG! because she doesn’t help! she gives finn completely wrong advice which ends in finn getting thrown out of the candy kingdom. the interaction between the two during this episode is bitter, where we see marceline speak in a high pitched tone and say ‘hello bonnibel’ almost mockingly, in response to bubblegums ‘hey marceline..’ which is incredibly stand offifish. from the get go, we know something happened between them (and with obvious clues now we know the timeline but as a first time viewer, this random episode in s1 can confuse everyone because why do these two characters have beef we don’t know about?)
now, moving onto an important core episode in their timeline which is ‘what was missing’ in season 3. one of the most popular adventure time episodes, and one of the most popular bubbline moments where we see bubblegum and marcy being forced to be together due to finn and jake attempting to take down a “door lord” that includes all of the teams prized possessions. (tldr: little gremlin dude stole jake, finn, bubblegum and marcelines* top favourite and most memorable items.. we will get back to this shortly). anyway, they have to sing a song of truth to get passed and with a failed attempt, marceline tries and lets say she just unleashes all the resentment and anger she’s had towards bubblegum in the form of a song! she says stuff like “i wanna drink the red from your pretty pink face”, “sorry i don’t treat you like a goddess”, and “why should i be the one to make up with you.. so why do i want to?” - indicating she WANTS to. which is probably the first time bubblegum has heard this, because bubblegums reaction is very much just “:O” the entire time. anyway, song goes on, marcy blames bubblegum for her messing up (in reality marcy only messed up because she began saying she wants to bury bubblegum but that isn’t true so the door didn’t accept it. L). anyway, they make up soon enough when finn does his little finn thing and everything is fine.. until bubblegum tries to go against the door lord with a “calculation” which appears to be false and it messes everything up - marcy uses this failure of hers to kinda rub it in her face, watching the princess fail was a positive in marcelines eyes as she was used to seeing bubblegum put work before her so of course she will use any moment of bonnie messing up as a win. she says “looks like you aren’t as perfect as you thought..” which has bonnie respond with “i never said you had to be perfect!” .. OUCHIE!! this leads to them getting upset, finn doing a little sing song which actually opens the door, and them getting their stuff back.. YIPPEE! now, you may be wondering “what was the stuff bubbline had stolen from them?” WELLLL LEMME TELL YOU. bubblegums most prized possession was THE ROCK T-SHIRT that MARCY GAVE HER years ago. marceline blushes as she says “you.. kept the shirt i gave you?” and bubblegum replies “yeah it uh.. means a lot to me” and marcy asks why because bonnie never wears it, to which bonnie replies “i wear it all the time. as panama’s.” .. NOTHING MORE GAY THAN SLEEPING IN YOUR EXES SHIRT THEY GAVE YOU THERE IS NO HETEROSEXUAL EXPLANATION FOR THIS!!!! anyway, marcy didn’t actually *have* an item stolen from her and instead it seems she just wanted to hang out with the team, more importantly wanted to hang out with her pink haired ex girlfriend. good stuff!
anyway, next important interaction i’m highlighting comes from the season 5 episode ‘sky witch’ (there is a lot of smaller key moments but i’m jumping to this one okay moving on) anyway, there is a huge moment at the start of sky witch where bubblegum begins by.. sniffing the shirt marceline gave her.. as she wakes up, to then opening her closet to get ready for the day and we see a polaroid of the pairing IN THE CLOSET… you get my drift? anyway, it slowly moves on to marcy asking PB for help with something (in reality she needs PB to help her recover a teddy bear that was stolen from her that was given to her by her literal father figure during the mushroom war.. so it has a lot of significance. remember that). anyway, PB agrees after the tiniest of convincing and on they go! they go on this adventure, but we will skip to the end where PB magically gets the teddy back.. how? well, we don’t find out until the end of the episode where bubblegum actually traded the rock shirt marcy gave her all those years ago. why did that work you ask? because the sky witch works from the value of items, and not money value, but emotional significance.. SO IT MEANS THE ROCK SHIRT MARCY GAVE HER HAD MORE EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENT AND SIGNIFICANCE THAN THE LITERAL TEDDY GIVEN TO MARCY DURING A LITERAL WAR FROM HER OWN FATHER FIGURE THAT ABANDONED HER!!!!!! MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!
okay okay, need more information? i’ve got you! we will quickly move onto VARMINTS my favourite episode of all time. “why aimsey?” because it gives us all the answers and clues we were waiting for when it comes to PB and marcys relationship. we learn that bonnie was unaware of the reason as to why marcy believed they stopped talking and broke up, we see bonnie apologise for hurting marcy and shutting her out, and we see marceline accept her apology as the pair can finally move on and accept the past. after seven whole seasons we get closure baby! the episode is brilliant in millions of ways, as we see bonnie be vulnerable around marceline regarding her loss of the candy kingdom, we see marcy reconciling with bonnie as they travel through the tunnels the pair used to explore years and years before, and it’s just a very nice episode. we are hit with the infamous quote “bonnibel bubblegum, always so prepared.” to which bonnie replies in a stern tone “yeah, i have to be always so prepared, we can’t all just wing it!” which is almost a dig at marcelines free spirit nature, but not out of malice, out of jealousy. bonnie wishes she had that, and not the huge amount of responsibility she has been burdened with since she was barely old enough to understand what it means to be mature. marcy saying the words “is that why you stopped talking to me?” after hearing bonnie go on a rant about how responsibility is difficult always hits me in my heart because it proves marcy to this day, although being bitter about it, believes the reason bonnie shut her out was because bonnie preferred work over her and that was marcelines biggest fear (as we know from getting shut out from her mother, her father and being abandoned by simon). bonnie going “no?!” because she genuinely just didn’t even think to see that may have been the reason the two fell out; both of the pair believing it was the other that lead to the fallout and bonnie not realising it may have involved her a lot more than she thought and it wasn’t just down to marceline being immature. anyway, episode ends with bonnie apologising, marcy accepts it, and we get a very sweet moment where bonnie is vulnerable and explains she is exhausted and marcy allows her to sleep on her shoulder as she rests. very cute :)
okay now stakes the mini series is a whole new realm for stuff regarding the pairs relationship. the stakes mini series is highlighting marcelines relationship with vampirism, and is a very beautiful series i recommend everyone watches. it begins with marceline burning in the sun, and slowly moves on to her asking bonnie to help her with the procedure of turning her into a human because she no longer wants to be a vampire - huge thing to ask, and bonnie ensures she is sure, and they do the procedure. a moment from this i think about a lot is where bonnie says this while doing the procedure regarding the fact marcy will no longer be immortal: “and when you die, i’ll be the one who puts you in the ground”. i think it’s just a nice quote. anyway, there are so many key moments from stakes but i’ll highlight important ones because it’s 5 episodes jam packed of bubbline but another moment is where they are searching for one of the vampires to hunt (this’ll make more sense if you watch it but TLDR: the procedure also unleashed all the vampires marcy has defeated in her years of growing up). PB and marcy are doing jumping jacks, and marcy is explaining a dream she had where in the dream marcy was all old, but PB was still “nice and pink” - meaning marcy was dreaming of her immortality being taken away, and dreaming about how in her future when she’s old, she’s with PB and she’s grown old with her (aww). bubblegum replies “you think i’m nice?” and it’s a very sweet moment where the pair blush. marcy then explains she has a weird feeling in her stomach, and PB asks if it’s just fear and marcy explains she knows what fear feels like already, and then goes “maybe it’s.. love?” regarding what the feeling is while looking at bubblegum and ITS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL MOMENT THAT DRIVES ME INSANE BECAUSE HOLY!!!! MOLY!!!!!!!! she was just hungry (lmao) and we move on! another scene is where marceline gets hurt badly, and bonnie is begging for her to wake up as she holds marcys lifeless body in her arms and it’s just a very emotional scene of bonnie begging her to wake up when she thinks marcy is about to die and it’s just very sad and beautiful. i’m gonna quickly move on towards the end of stakes as we have more to cover but during the end, marcy gets turned back into a vampire but explains she has learned a lot and she thanks bubblegum, and says the beautiful quote “thanks for helping me grow up. now i guess we get to hang out together forever” and bonnie blushes in return and it’s just such an AAHHHHH scene!!!!!
now, we are rushing towards the finale (i’m missing some very key moments but i’ve been writing this for an hour straight without stopping i will fill in the blanks later) but basically during the final episode, marcy stops bonnie and begs her not to go to war - bonnie replies she has to, and in this moment you can see marcy more so terrified that this will result in her losing bonnie for the second time due to work and she doesn’t want this. its canon at this point the pair are dating again, and we see them chit chat before moving on as the battle starts. fast forward to bonnie getting really injured, and in result of this marceline loses her literal shit and punts the monster that killed bonnie after believing her girlfriend just got smothered and really badly injured - after this, marcy is out of breath and we see bonnie sit up and whisper ‘marcy?’ in a soft tone and marcy flies over just overjoyed she is okay. marcy says “even when we weren’t talking i was scared something bad would happen to you and i wouldn’t be there to protect you” and it’s such a raw line where it’s just obvious throughout all these years marceline never truly moved on from her. marcy and her giggle and then bubbline share their first on screen kiss that made thousands of gays across the globe pass away!!!
then, we have the beautiful obsidian distant lands that gives us insight into their very healthy relationship as we learn a lot more about the pair, and we just get some beautiful shared moments between them and even them canonically calling each other girlfriends which will never not be engraved in my brain!
this was everything from the top of my head (they will be my number one hyperfixation whether i like it or not until i pass away) but yeah! tldr: miscommunication lead to them not speaking for a very long time when the pair both just wanted to be loved but didn’t know how to balance their own stuff on top of loving the other. the miscommunication lied with bonnie throwing herself into her work instead of giving marceline attention, ultimately losing marcys trust in the process, and where marceline being a free spirit lead to bonnie just not being able to work like that as she “isn’t built like that” (her own quote “people get built different. we don’t need to figure it out, we just gotta accept it”. despite it being about her brother, i like to apply it to her also here). and marceline not giving PB the credit of her being a literal ruler burdened with responsibility. both were too young i’d say, but them growing up together and allowing the other to heal in their own ways lead them to each other again :)

Okay so I just watched Heroes and Huntsman part two and we'll I have opinions. Again. Also This is pretty much composed of a rant I sent to my friends As soon as the credits rolled so I'm sorry if this is a bit everywhere.
Firstly, they fixed the problem with Yangs characterization. Pretty much in volume 8 - 9 maybe even 7-9 it was like the writers forgot that SHE IS RUBY'S SISTER!! Like everyone was so obsessed with the bees that they forgot RUBY TRIED TO OFF HERSELF. Which I know I mentioned on her already but it just bothered me so much. And like in the latest season Ruby was going through her trauma arc and it was like no one gave a shit. Like Yang did not give up her entire childhood to take care of Ruby only to shrug off when she drinks a cup of poison.
And I'm sure there is no way Yang wouldn't go fucking crazy in that scene because (1) THAT'S HER SISTER (2) SHE GAVE HER LIFE TO PROTECT HER (3)SHE'S HAD AN ENTIRE ARC ABOUT HER BEING SCARED HER LOVED ONES WOULD LEAVE HER. And guess what? RUBY WAS READY TO WILLINGLY LEAVE HER. It was like the writers were like "okay so we either have gf Yang or Sister Yang" INSTEAD OF REALIZING THAT THEY ESTABLISHED EARLIER THAT A LOT OF HER FAMILIAL RELATIONSHIPS IMPACTED HER ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS.
But in the new movie we got cute scenes of Yang not knowing how to talk to her little sister to establish how worried she is for her, While also getting scenes of Blake expressing how much she loves her. And even as a bonus we get to see her going back to her original pattern of being the one to take on everyone's problems or to just give a pep talk and listen with her talk with Berry. We finally got to see her not having to give up one part of her for another or ignoring one characteristic to emphasize a different one.
Not to mention Ruby! They characterized her so well in this movie. Like you can tell she's trying so hard for things to go back to notice but she just has so much shit and baggage weighing on her. She claims that she's better yet she running blindly into danger. It's like just because she's no longer actively trying to die (hopefully) she's still not fully sold on living, so instead she's taking down leviathans blindly wailing her scythe around claiming that it's confidence but it's just a death wish. Like I wanna get into her conversation with Clark but real quick one more Yang rant.
There was this scene towards the end of the movie where Yang was finally expressing how much she's worried about Ruby and she's about to start raising her voice when Blake puts a hand on her shoulder to calm her down. LIKE THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!! SHOW HER AS A CARING SISTER WHILE ALSO ACCEPTING HELP FROM HER GIRLFRIEND!!Back in season 7 Blake was empathizing more with Ruby than her own sister and it just made no sense to me. Okay sorry Back to Ruby so she has this conversation with Clark that is absolutely stunning because I just love their dynamic and the added ability of him being able to understand her pain is just amazing. And he says this one line that's basically like "I try not to dwell on my parents too much because I know that they wouldn't want me to join them too soon" and like I just love that line because it's exactly what she needed to hear and when she promises Yang "I won't be joining anyone too soon" as Clark is watching approving from the side!!!!
Like it's such a simple movie but it's just soo much better than then the volume before in my opinion, and I'm so glad that it wasn’t the last we'd see of the team even if they don't greenlight volume 10. Also the struggles with Whise and Barry was also so good but I'll save that for another day. The only thing I'd say I'm disappointed about is Blake Yang and Diana scenes because in part one they made the absolute entire movie for me. Oh and als GIVE BLAKE HER CAT EARS BACK sorry I just missed them so much throughout the movie 😭😭

while byler certainly needs to get johnathan’d for murray’d or brent gelman’d I PERSONALLY think elumax needs to get dustin’d s5
like imagine dustin catching el crying like halfway through the season and having a heart to heart with her and telling her ‘you both loved max and did everything u could! it’s not your fault’ ‘you know lucas cares about you too, right?’
and lucas talking to dustin on one of his visits to the hospital to check in on lucas and finally breaking and telling him about his worries and after dustin being like ‘just remember you have people who care about you here’ and lucas is like ‘thanks dustin 😭🙄’ and dustin’s like ‘no i’m serious u and el be looking pretty close- okAy finE IM LEAVING IM LEAVING i’ll leave u with ur gf… sure u don’t want me to tell ur other gf to come up here- OKAYYY IM LEAVING.. love u <3’ ‘love u too dustin 🙄🙄’
dustin telling el he thinks it’s o possible to love two people at once (and ranting about some science thing that proves this until el cuts him off laughing like okay 😪🙄🙄 thanks dustin <33)
dustin always making lil comments to lucas like ‘oh i ran into ur gf in the hallway she said she’s bringing the stephen king book later to read to ur other gf’ and constantly teasing him but then seeing one of his off hand comments hit and pausing like ‘hey its okay u wanna talk about it?’ and lucas explaining his feelings and dustin giving some not so awful advice like ‘hey you love them and they’re both crazy about you and each other so.. how i see it it’s a win win!!’ and hug <333
please come on dustin and el bonding is a must and we NEED more dustin and lucas besties content so this would SLAY

- gina looked so pretty (she always does)
- honestly love the gina and kourtney friendship and i hope it goes on to next season instead of being forgotten
- ashlyn was a bit much once again, i understood the fact it kills your confidence from going from belle to ensemble cast but also found hypocritical when she said this could have been her big break when she was making gina 1.0 remarks when gina said the same thing
- ricky and carlos’ friendship is everything to me
- ricky helping jet coming out of his shell is also so cute to see and can’t wait to see more of their friendship and ricky helping jet as a big brother of sorts
- maddox and jet being siblings wasn’t surprising because i honestly thought that was already common knowledge? i saw someone mentioning it on twitter around the time the characters were first introduced to us in an article (i never read the article so i assumed it was disclosed there)
- the straw/weed bouquet ej gave gina was ugly af but i thought it was a sweet gesture until gina was ranting about only ever feeling “just enough” and instead of assuring his gf he had to talk about his problems instead. but she didn’t reassure him as well so i guess it’s their thing
- in fact must be a caswell thing because ashlyn had to make it all about her without even congratulating gina
- ashlyn’s song was really good
- i love how this season is about these characters coming into their own and finally accepting who they wanna be. this is a turning point season for gina, ricky, ashlyn and ej. can’t wait to see where they arrive at the end
- it’s only ep 3 and ej is already placing this play above gina when he is only counselor in training so i doubt he is even being paid for this when i’m sure any other director/camp counselor would be paid. like my boy if this is exhausting you this much then drop it because you’re not obligated to follow through?!?!? you don’t owe that ugly gnome dewey anything ? why assure your gf that she is not a burden just an episode ago only to already cut the time you’re spending with her?
- ricky and gina finally falling back into their easy going friendship that includes a lot of flirting and romantic subtext. i love them for it.
- “i guess there’s something new to learn” as rina look at each other? there’s layers to this
- ricky saying that he is proud of gina and putting the spotlight on her when she had said earlier that she never quite been in the spotlight? there’s layers to this !!
- “it’s about the journey” “we’re still going in the same direction” THERE’S LAYERS TO THIS !!!!
- anyways loved the episode and comedy of it all , truly seems like season 1 but better written
- also no nini this episode so no wonder there was no scene that felt lacking

I will start by thanking u for having this blog and opening my eyes on alot of things even though I dont agree on everything u say here ( I think Jensen was fantastic as SB he was simply the best thing about season 3) but I agree on alot of things that said here and the fact that Jensen choosed to be mediocre in all aspects of his life and it's just sad , for ex in acting he wasted his prime years doing soap opera and cheap cw tv , usually new actors with ambition will start with small budget and indie movies till they get better opportunities and stay away from tv because it's a known fact that's tv actors rarely make it out of tv , Jensen now want to be an A lister but it's too late now he is 45 , Jp fans always get mad when we compare him to movies stars ,but the truth is he have movie star qualities maybe he doesn't have the range to be campared with DiCaprio or rayan Gosling but actors like Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth have nothing on him in term of talent, looks and charisma , it's just they were smarter in their choices , CE casted as CA based on his look ( blue eyes , blonde, good American boy ) and the character is one dimensional anyway and does not require range at all and just quick look at his post marvel work will show that he is even less versatile and more mediocre than Jensen, however he was smart ,before marvel he used to be in indie movies, romcom and failed blockbusters which help to put him on the map and give apportunites , while marvel wasn't looking for big names they will not hire tv actors either . Now for his marriage , I've noticed just like everybody how awkward they look as a couple and have zero chemistry and then some videos like pregnancy joke video or the WT premiere , he always looked annoyed, visibly cringed with her and sometimes he look straight up disgusted like when she tried to touch his hair , then I digged further here and I wish I dont cause now I dislike him , the fact that he cheated on his gf and backstabbed his friend and for what for this ? Is this the best he could do? Hollywood male actor will usually go for either super hot actresses like scarlett Johansson or black lively or an average one but have great personality and funny / great person and she is neither one these she is average in everything and she is not even nice to him , imagine my surprise when I found out that her acting carrier is consist of her being slutty and naked , I'm laughing bc jensen have no standard or class at all , it's hilarious that he went on SB press ranting that he can't do intimate scenes bc he is a family man when his wife is basically a grorified soft porn actress, he will never be CE bc that man have standard, he didn't tie himself up with tv and he knows that he is a frat boy and not exactly ment to be a family man so he didnt tie himself up with women and children, Jensen on the other hand isn't exactly a family man either but he did it anyway by half assing it and being away most of the time while his wife taking the wheel , and now he want to use this marriage to sell the image of powerful couple , the problem is outside their ig post they can't even pretend to like each other and even when they do like in the recent con they did together they dont have the chemistry of married couples and Jensen looked disgusted when she tried to kiss him , the fact that the happiest they ever looked together is when they were partying , drunk and wasted , tell me everything I want to know about their relationship , and I honestly I dont feel sorry for him for being stuck with a woman that he has zero passion for , it's his carma for being a cheap cheater
Hi, anon! I too was really shocked when I saw how trashy Danneel is. To think he backstabbed to people of value over her and also effed over Jared when he produced TW over her. She definitely makes me question his character deeply.
As for the second part of your ask, you forgot to turn on anonymous and your username was visible so I avoided posting that one, to protect your privacy.

alright here's my thoughts on how you'd fix stranger things (starting at s3 bc my stance was always that i could deal with how s3 did s2 dirty if it was building up to something properly in s4 and haha. hahaha. hahahaha. ahahahahahaahaha.)
mostly in vague terms of character arcs bc i'm still niggling at the idea of writing some screenplays for alternate episodes as a writing exercise
max vs mike: honestly the max/mike as foils aspect was GALAXY BRAINED and UNDERUTILIZED but it should have been mike's hypervigilance vs max's rebellion. *me dry heaving with the urge to not go on a rant about how the duffer bros see anyone with a gf as Normal and this blinds them to the traumatic elements that--*
mike should have been, honestly, on the same side as hopper. like, he's an angsty pre-teen so he won't ADMIT that he's on hopper's side but i think his friction with the party should have been that he's constantly overthinking where el can go without being noticed. you could still have the hormonal teens aspect with some grumpiness vs hopper but i think the overall aspect should have been that mike and hopper are very similarly overly protective
meanwhile max is going through it at home with extremely overbearing patriarchal figures. setting up for her grief arc in season 3, we really should have seen how billy is being abused, how he hands it down to max (by being biting with her from a safe distance since she laid down the law) and how she then struggles not to hand that down to lucas (also she should have had another moment where she again threatens billy away from lucas, showcasing the fact that she's as protective as mike is, despite her quarreling with lucas). so coming off this oppressive environment, she pushes to get el into freedom, being a little bit reckless, bc honestly who's gonna know? wound up with teenage overconfidence for taking on billy + a little bit of a self harm undertone because of her frustration with herself for inadvertent curtness with lucas bc of her struggles at home
the nancy/jonathan subplot is pretty good, but honestly? i think both of their sides should have been legitimized. keep and possibly even amplify all the moments with karen and nancy and the very serious fact that nancy is the victim of misogyny, but also give the byers more money troubles!! give jonathan and joyce moments where they're struggling financially! give joyce struggling to find work bc everything is shutting down because of the mall!! *slams fists on tables* lean into the horror of the mall!! the mall devours!!! the mall is the flesh monster, devouring all!!!!
ANYWAY
shut the absolute fuck up with making hopper unlikable so he can be redeemed by *checks notes* being tortured in a russian prison. fucking christian-ass hellsinner nonsense. give me hopper floundering trying to give joyce a sense of safety. taking her seriously but not knowing how to help. knowing she's thinking of moving away for money and trauma reasons. being scared to ask her to stay. being scared to offer to protect her. and honestly, i think he should have moved to cali with them, purely bc joyce felt safer that way and that's part of his redemption arc is just to trust her
make will less uwu babey boy. boy's been possessed. let him be fucking sloppy and mean. have him fighting not (entirely) against his friends to keep his lost childhood, but also himself. give him a crushes he doesn't want to have. make him be a dick about lucas and mike trying to get el back after the breakup. make mike be a dick back bc will started getting personal. FUCKING INCLUDE LUCAS IN THE ARGUMENT BRO
speaking of lucas has such an underdeveloped character arc in season 3 you'd have to invent it from scratch and tbh i'm still fucking noodling on this one. i feel like it'd have to contrast max and mike's different takes on overprotection. honestly, i feel like lucas' entire thing is the competition for hero with mike in s1, which would be an interesting arc - like, honestly, it would be fun if lucas was getting REALLY into tactics and it's part of the reason he hard commits to fixing mike and el's relationship but he's also weird about d&d now. it would make an interesting shift from the whole "sorry will lol we have GIRLFRIENDS now so we don't have TIME for interests, that's how PUBERTY works bc what 13-14 yos are really known for is being really normal about their interests and only being into girls). like maybe they've been straying from d&d bc mike's overvigilance is leaking into his dming and lucas' tactical special interests are leaking into his rp and dustin's over it and will wants them to just play d&d NORMALLY bc he doesn't want to face that he's not normal anymore and never will be again and this is deeply intertwined with the horror of puberty and queerness and trauma
i like the scoops troop dynamic but i think they shouldn't have been so disconnected from the party. i think there should have been this chaos with mike and max's war of the different flavors of the same person and lucas' Operation Get My Bf and Gf to Agree campaign and meanwhile dustin is like "so anyway there's a russian base underground" and they're like "DUSTING THERE'S NOT A RUSSIAN BASE UNDER THE MALL"
i don't care about alexei get rid of him
honestly i don't care if this is my get babygirl steve a boyfriend agenda, i think eddie should have been introduced in s3 as a direct foil to billy and a queer puberty parallel for will. i'm too winded from my other thoughts to elaborate but i'm right
karen should have divorced ted. instead of being like "what am i doing nearly fucking a teenager i have a family" she should have been like "what am i doing nearly fucking a teenager i gotta GET OUT OF THIS FUCKING MARRIAGE"
anyway tbc i need a breather before i deal with season 4

ok short (or not so short idk yet) rant about 2022 / 2023 season in my driver dr
background ive been in a rs with charles at this point for 2 and a half years (since mid 2019)
so basically in 2022 i win my 8th championship and yk its a big deal bcs its the one that breaks the record and for charles it sucks even more in 2022 than another year bcs this was the year he had a realistic chance at the championship for the first time before ferrari (binotto and carlos im sorry but they developed the car closer to carlos so im gonna blame carlos too) fucked it all up so theres a lot of frustration obviously and i now already scripted that we get into a big fight over it all and charles (bcs he doesnt deal well with confrontation) posts the famous breakup story on insta (we didnt breakup but he thought so bcs i was like 'i cant do this anymore' and stormed off but i just meant i cant do this fight anymore right now not the fucking rs) and follows alexandra bcs idk frustration or smth idk and then (shes a morally grey person in my dr im sorry but i dont see her as the good person here i feel kinda bad making her the villain but i need one and she fits the persona well) alexandra (im gonna call her alex bcs its easier to write lol) spreads the rumour of her and charles being in a rs (if youre not into f1 gossip, basically on the day that chacha broke up there was a tweet on insta saying 'yeah look out for alexandrasaintmleux charles just followed her with his private' and more tweets hinting at a rs between alex and charles) and basically puts herself on the map and then ferrari makes charles do a pr agreement with alex bcs it makes sense for him to have a gf (and she has ties to apm monaco one of his sponsors anyway) and also hes been getting hate for breaking up with me (fans love me lol im sorry but he kinda deserves it too in this situation) and ferrari cant have that for one of their drivers ofc so they try to take the attention off that (it doesnt really make sense but then again, ferraris actions never do so were good i think) and i did script charles and i get back together but the question now is when and how bcs i have some scenarios
Scenario 1: we get back together over the winter break and talk it out but the contract is already signed so we need to keep it secret
Scenario 2: we get back together after singapore (which charles wins in my dr) and have to hide it
Scenario 3: Alex is just a rebound (so no pr rs but used for pr purposes and no real genuine feelings more like a hookup gone wrong bcs no one can tell me these two are in love) and we get back together after singapore anyway and they break up
Scenario 4: we get back together somewhere in the 2023 winter break after the pr contract ran out (its for 1 year in my head)
any other ideas are welcome lol bcs maybe im just overlooking the obvious here :)

S2E7 Burial - a post viewing rant
Tumblr media
feeling like brokeback mountain tai tonight, head hung low, in solemnity. I just watched season 2 episode 7 'Burial' (yes i havent finished, don't sue me i like to take my time) and by god if that wasn't one of the greatest episodes of television i have ever witnessed in my short life. it was simply fantastic and topped the previous episode for me.
the way they weaved between the timelines was particularly good. i do not understand how they managed to fit in so much character development in one episode. like i feel like we learnt so much about shauna, misty, van, and lottie. i also found it really interesting how each one of their 'therapies' seemed to be really effective almost like it was planned .
i was nearly brought to tears by shauna and that stupid fucking goat. the manifestation of shauna's trauma through her estranged relationship with her daughter uugghhh. i cannot imagine what effect it would have had on her to lose the baby in the wilderness and it completely explains why shauna keeps callie 'at arms length'. the callback to jackie was also done fantastically. i miss her too though shauna, you're not special.
this episode had me thinking that misty isnt even that psychotic; baby just wants to be loved. her motives of not wanting her friend to be eaten actually warms my heart (doesnt excuse what she did). the fear of knowing that the body was out there and if it were to be found, mari would turn it into her next masterpiece of a stew, would be too much for me. i was also enjoying having all the girls on the compound just as much as she was. my very much needed comic relief.
ok taissa really turned up the crunchy gay vibes this episode like you know that women knows how to pitch a tent. (doesn't she have like a state to run or something?!?) the taivan moments were DELICIOUS and she was like REALLY getting into that kiss. i love how all it took was one kiss from her ex gf for her to start planning her divorce.
look van, your situation is tragic, really, but girl...you have had your face eaten off by wolves and have been burned alive TWICE like i think cancer is the least of your problems.
I FUCKING CALLED THAT LOTTIE'S THERAPIST WAS NOT REAL!!!! I KNEWWWWW IT. just thinking though, to be Lottie Matthew's therapist you'd have to be like the final boss therapist you get once you have defeated all other therapists. i find it very interesting that lottie wanted all the girls to go home once she had scared herself sufficiently (dont even ask me what that Antler Queen shit was about). All nat had to do was up the sexual innuendo and to get her to change her mind.
speaking of which, the lottienat truthers were FED this episode. like they're SOOO GAYYYY. I can feel a rage creeping up on me already. it's a preemptive rage. i am preparing myself for when the COWARD writers of this show do not deliver on the canon that we know we deserve in season 3. LIKE ITS ALL THERE. ALL THAT SET UP FOR... a wilderness lottienat kiss (*prays*). i will stop myself from speaking any further on the issue of lottienat (im sure you'll see the gifsets later - sorry in advance)
ok, and FINALLY. Of all the gore, bloodshed, and gruesome, or downright depraved moments in this show...NOTHING has come close to what i witnessed in the final scene of this episode. it is the only moment in yellowjackets where i have actually had to cover up what i was seeing on the screen. i am a big girl now and that was just too much for me. like, the cannibalism is one thing, but i draw the line at having to watch shauna shipman beat the shit out of lottie Matthew's pretty face. LIKE YOU CANT DO THAT TO HER. i was waiting and wanting so badly for natalie to step in and stop her but she just kept going. no one did anything and i dont get it. i understand that she needed to let her rage out but SHE WAS ABOUT TO KILL HER WTF. when lottie put her hands behind her back, my heart sunk bro. shauna you violent bitch. lottie you pathological people pleaser.
yea, great ep

started ranting about doctor who to my gf and realized i actually have a lot of opinions (which start off summarizing hbomberguy's takes from the sherlock video but it was kind of a revelation for me) so if u want to hear them ive copypasted and edited them a bit for u guys under the cut <3
so like to set up how bad steven moffat is he explains why doctor who was so bad when moffat was the showrunner in a way ive been trying to articulate for years
basically he's a decent writer who was good at individual episodes that make reference to the doctors history but when it came to actually writing that history and the big events that would become the doctor's history he sucks so so so badly
like in the empty child he was amazing, he prioritized the story of the episode while giving the doctor an air of mystery and references a long and complicated backstory without compromising any charm or humor
but in the very first episode where he had reins on the entire show and its storylines he resorted to just a monologue from the doctor about how cool and special he is and that trend continued the whole time he was in charge. the entire universe suddenly revolved around the doctor
like. chibnall was clearly trying to subvert that by only using brand new aliens during his first season and having extra companions (three of them jesus christ) but he didn't address the heart of the problem and somehow made it even worse. the charm of the doctor was always that they were just a traveler bouncing around the universe and helping people or having fun or whatever
and of course there was always the tragic backstory and the genocide and being the last of his kind and all that but that always came second to the humans he loved!! the first time the master came back in tennant's run it was martha and her family and jack that saved him!! and chibnall tried to do that with yaz but it just didnt feel as impactful bc of how overpowering the master & timeless child plots were (dont even get me started on the timeless child shit retconning the entire history of the show to make the doctor quite literally the most important being in the universe)
moffat on the other hand went all over the place with it and wrote in intergalactic cults deadset on killing the doctor and when he did try to make companions special and important he completely took away their agency in the process
to me clara was a decent companion and had some great moments for me until she turned out to be not real or a metaphor or forgotten or dead or somehow retconned into existing since the show started in 1963 it was all so WEIRD and misses the point of making a companion important. it made her so important she lost her humanity imo
and then there was bill who also died and was mutilated beyond recognition and it just makes me think about how rtd never did that to companions. they were special not because of time magic or destiny or fucked up deaths but because they were just humans. with families. martha got to go back to her family. donna had to forget but she was happy in the end. rose was supposed to live out her life in the parallel universe with her own mortal doctor, and she did, but moffat STILL found a way to bring her back as a metaphor because his desire to deconstruct female companions into concepts and tragedies was just too strong
that's not even getting into what he did to river. or amy...
none of this is to say rtd is perfect of course, i'm really nervous to see how he deals with everything that's been thrown at the show in the past couple decades but considering he plans on staying for a while i really hope he manages to put a better twist on all of it. honestly the thing im most curious about is the special effects.. the show has been leaving very heavily on cg lately but chibnall did introduce a few decent practical effects and puppets so i hope rtd pushes for more of that. im getting off topic tho
that's all i have for now i hope u enjoyed and if u wanna discuss anything pls feel free although that's all the brainpower i have for today come back tomorrow <3

HUH????
Tumblr media
You are NOT telling me that season 3 made 2 WHOLE ASS CHARACTERS with a name almost identical to one of the prior characters pre season 3. Surely not. This has to be headcanon by the wiki, right? Surely not even they were that lazy?? Though i wouldn't even be surprised tbh.
Like they legit canonically named that no-personality girl Lun-zia despite the fact Lune-zeara from the Wambas team already existed prior to season 3. Their names literally sound the exact same. Were they hoping that people would get them mixed up?? (I did) or were they just so lazy to not be able to come up with a name and hoped no one would notice. Once again an L for the Wambas. Lune-zeara doesn't deserve this, girl i am so sorry.

SaL anon here friend, hoping that you are feeling better today and up for what's really mostly salt. I'm not sure I have anything to add to the 911 dissatisfaction discourse (and that its not all over the place) that hasn't been said before and said better, but here's the things that really struck me this episode. First is what feels like a clear intent to replace Buddie with Hen and Buck this season. Let's be clear, i love Hen and Buck together and their dynamuc is not out of nowhere, but i
can't help but feel its not only forced, but being forced to give an excuse not to show Buck with the Diaz boys. Just last season Eddie had his meltdown and the FIRST person Chris called was Buck, who literally dropped everything in his life (including his gf) to take care of them for weeks!! Now they don't hang out anymore, Buck doesn't check in when Eddie stresses about Chris lying or growing up in general?? He's been to therapy, Buck's done his job and that's that. Am I really supposed to buy into that?? I don't know if this is KR's way of minimizing Buddies importance, it feels more like maybe a way to try and make Buck's sperm donor nonsense somehow intersect with Denny asking about his Dad and that leads to something?? Maybe?? I don't know but it's hard to not feel like that makes the entire interaction even more forced, especially since right now it's been mostly a joke and bringing those two things together will be...a choice. Which brings up the point that nothing this season feels like it's setting anything up. I may not be a fan of S5 but at least the highlight, Eddie's breakdown arc, was set up beautifully from the start, as was the Madney issues, and even Bobby's near relapse (even though those last weren't nearly as well executed). Just, what are we supposed go be expecting for the characters?? Nothing that's happened seems in any way connected, it's like KR turned 911 into a sitcom and only occasionally remembers it's a drama. If the big arc this season is for Buck why has it been treated as a joke mostly?? Any cliffhanger we get for the midseason finale won't be nearly as impactful as Eddie quitting last year because it will come out of nowhere. And finally hard agree that the emergencies no longer mean anything. Like the best storyline so far is Eddie dealing with Chris growing up but it doesn't in any way involve his job, I could watch it on any drama on TV!!
Sorry to cut out mid rant, i got interrupted by someone expecting me to focus on my assigned tasks (the audacity). Anyway, pretty sure I more or less finished, i just want to see some spark of the old 911. The new dynamics are fun, but to again use our favorite punching bag of a show, it was also nice to see Alex talk to Max at the end of S3, but it made no sense and I'd have 10 times rather seen his limited screentime spent elsewhere. I need 911 to start doing better than RNM!
Hello my friend! I’m still languishing in my sick bed and very much not looking forward to packing, traveling, or sleeping on my brother and SIL’s couch in their overly crowded house for 3 nights while I’m recuperating, but I’m very excited for the wedding so there’s that to look forward to!
This rant is all 100% spot on and exactly where I’m at right now. I’m not losing all hope, I’m having some fun, I’m laughing, or awwww-ing, but there’s just no gut-punch moments, no edge-of-your-seat moments, no depth, and nothing cohesive tying everything together. You’re so right about the Buck/Hen stuff feeling forced at this point and it’s BECAUSE we’re not getting any Buck/Eddie. Buck talking to Hen when they lost someone made sense because she was the captain on the scene and made the call and they ARE friends and is someone he respects and looks up to for guidance and someone who has all the answers. Him talking to her about the sperm donor thing made sense too as it’s something she’s seen the other side of but it was weird not getting ANYONE else talking with him about it, and the way the show has played it all off as a joke means it dragging out and becoming something bigger is going to be a weird tonal shift, especially since we didn’t get the firefam trying to be cool about it at work but following that scene up with Eddie or Bobby pulling Buck aside to talk about it and it was dropped again this week and likely won’t come up much if at all in the 6a finale unless it’s tied into the Denny stuff but again, they’ve treated it as a joke until now, so it’s going to be a jarring tonal shift if it’s a huge issue suddenly in the finale.
I also agree with where this season is going because like ??? what is anyone doing? Eddie’s dealing with Chris growing up but that’s been a couple of minutes in a few scenes spread over 8 episodes, Chim has nothing outside Maddie and Jee and even most of that has happened off screen (and actually most of THAT is speculation because we’re not even earing about much in canon either and is a lot of guesswork from fans based on the synopsis saying they were doing couples therapy), Maddie had the one thing in 6x05 and that’s been it outside a few scenes with Chim and Jee, Hen’s med school thing wrapped 2 episodes ago, Athena had “her” episode which affected zero things in the rest of the show and she hasn’t had much else besides these few scenes with May this week, Buck is all over the place looking for the right couch one episode, the key to happiness the next (neither of which have been brought up again since those episodes aired), and now this sperm donor thing but he’s not talking with Bobby or Maddie or Eddie or even Chim about anything, and Bobby is apparently finally getting something in the finale in 2 weeks, but it’s about a character that hasn’t come up in the 26 episodes since 4x14 a year and a half ago. Joy.
And I think that’s the issue with the emergencies. Because the episodes themselves aren’t having a clear narrative purpose and there’s no major arcs to move forward, the emergencies are just things happening to people we don’t care about with no weight or barring on anything, and they’re running them longer BECAUSE they aren’t doing anything with the mains on the personal side of things so they need stuff to fill the void.
As for the change in character interactions, if we were getting these “new” dynamics in ADDITION to the old ones I think it would be fine, but we’re not getting anything out of most of these scenes that either a) is revealing something to the audience they haven’t (or *can’t*) tell the person in the regular paring, b) is a shared experience only this new pairing has (Eddie and Chim have SO much potential for deep conversations about Maddie/Shannon/their kids/their dads), or c) would work better with the dynamics we’re used to seeing. You’re so right to bring in the RNM parallel because they did the same kind of thing like having Alex and Max talk but it not actually giving us much and it feeling disjointed because they hadn’t spoken for 3 seasons and also robbed us of scenes we actually wanted to see with characters that made sense. 911 is better than this, or at least it used to be. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Ohhh my god I'm so mad
Spoilers for the ending of durarara + rant
That was so cliche and disappointing. I had felt like there were too many new characters introduced in the second season, and the ending proves that I wasn't wrong. So many things feel unearned and/or unresolved. Some characters didn't change at all, some changed but not as much as they could have, and some changed but the progress they made feels weird.
Varona is probably the best case scenario, she's actually grown from the machine like personality she had in the beginning. I just wish she could have gone further than just having a crush on Shizuo.
Anri is fine ig, she had a lot of scenes that justify her development, but it's so dumb how it all boils down to "yes I like Mikado and that's how I will show my growth as a character".
Mikado and Masaomi are a very weird case. To me it feels like they both changed, but at the same time they didn't change at all? Especially Mikado, who at the beginning of the series seemed meek and clueless, and then we learnt he had created the Dollars and he had moved to Ikebukuro because he was bored of having an ordinary life. So in a way, all the wild shit he does later on is in line with his personality from the very beginning?
I'm so mad about Shinra and Celty, it was infuriating to watch how Shinra couldn't let her go even though he apparently knew exactly what she was thinking, AND that it's played like it's a good thing. Her feelings were completely disregarded. I wish he could have had an arc where he discovers that life can be meaningful without Celty because it was shown that he'd been obsessed with her for a looong time. Anyway, absolutely nothing changed. They're the same they were by the end of season 1.
And the matter with Celty bleeds into other characters as well. For some reason she wasn't allowed to keep her head? The only way she could be with Shinra was by not having her head?? And they gave her head to Shinra's dad's company in order to experiment on it??? And Sheiji is still as obsessed with it as ever, and Mika is still his replacement for it. "I view you as family" BS you haven't changed at all since the first episode of the first season.
And his sister Namie doesn't change at all either, she's still obsessed with him and that doesn't get resolved in the slightest.
Shizuo felt like he should have had a character arc, but it... didn't happen? Was it too subtle for me to notice? Either way, disappointing to see. In season 2 we were given 3 new female characters who needed to learn that they're not monsters (even though Anri was already having the exact same arc since season 1), meanwhile Shizuo was left as an afterthought, despite the fact that he's been called a monster this whole time. I guess it shows how strong willed and confident in himself he is, but it doesn't feel completed?
And speaking of monsters; Izaya. Well... he also didn't change at all. We saw the flashbacks and that one scene with Shinra talking about him to the orange haired girl with the glasses about how he's scared of being vunerable or whatever it was, but he himself did not change at all. I guess he had decided to stop running from Shizuo and seemed to have accepted his death? But the last scene he's in, he's running away again?? And he's still calling Shizuo a monster? What was the point?
Haruna could have been given a small arc about overcoming her feelings for that piece of shit teacher, but nah... It's not like it would have been cool to see her start to hate him for grooming her (because that's what it was) and for taking revenge on him. The last scene with the two of them could have been exactly the same ffs.
And there's still so many more characters that were introduced but were made to feel like plot devices, Aoba, Rocchi and Kasane, being the most important that come to mind. Masaomi's gf, whose name I can't remember, also fits into this category. She existed in the first season so that Masaomi would feel bad and to highlight how much of a POS Izaya is, and since then she's literally done nothing.
Honestly. It feels like there were a lot of interesting characters and relationship dynamics throughout the whole series, and suddenly at the end the show is saying "I'm too tired to properly resolve all of these and also sometimes being totally obsessed with someone is okay actually".
Dishonourable mention: Izaya's sisters did nothing for the plot, did not give us a new perspective into his character, and were bad fanservice (even though there was already plenty of fanservice without them), not only because of the boobs, but for the incest bait too.

Okay hi hello last week i finished svtfoe
Its rant time 👀
I didn't expect to write out my thoughts after each season anywhere but here we are i guess and now i can finally say i watched svtfoe in full!
So season 4
It was mid.
Okay theres more to that obviously, if it was just a season in the middle of the series it would be fine I enjoyed quite a few episodes but when it all comes together its just a complete mess
For me season 3 was the best and after such strong season this was just a disappointment honestly. I was wondering if Star lost her powers completely or what, so seeing her s4e01 using her magic completely fine without a wand was disappointing, like no learning no problems no nothing like i love you star but how tf did you learn that just outta nowhere
Other thing that seems to be completely forgotten is u know descendants of our favorite mc-pie folk? Like i have no problem with that what i have problem with is River. For whole 2 or more episodes he hates on pie folk so much but when he finds out his wife actually comes from pie folk he immediately forgets about that. Like im glad their relationship is okay dont get me wrong but with him being so prejudiced and hateful one minute and then just completely ignoring that is just ooc imo.
There's so much filler or irrelevant stuff happening that I had to look back at list of episodes to remind myself what was even happening
I liked Star being canonically attracted to women in episode I completely forgot about (ransomgram) so thats sth I guess
I really really enjoyed Stars and Toms relationship, maybe its my preference for Tomstar instead of Starco but I just find them so much nicer together. Despite that I also dont mind their eventual break up. I dont like that its so plainly just for Starco purposes its annoying but besides that I would love if their break up did lead up to development for them both. I feel like Tom was completely disregarded at the end of the season and it just bothered me a lot. I love how he grew throughout the series and I grew to like him a lot more than I initially did (which u know I liked him from the beginning anyway) and I love how much he cared for Star. It would be great if after the break up Star also could learn and like she wanted to try to find out who she is outside being "magical princess" that would be so great to see! but u know instead we got Starco :|
and now for Marco. I liked what he had going on w Kelly I thought it was cute u know? being breakup buddies thats adorable! and I didnt even mind blood moon curse I think it would be an okay closure for Starco and even then I feel like Marco and Star would be great platonic soulmates, instead of going w u know expected romance and stuff. Cause sure they have a strong bond I just feel like the romance part is bs, especially the confession scene I am sorry it was so bad. I dont mind Starco mind you but if I was keeping up w it at the time and 4 seasons of waiting led up to that I would be angry. I still am despite basically binging it, its just so weak I cant. The whole "I liked you from the start" no you didnt u liked Jackie (also good on her for getting french gf what a girlboss) and Star had a crush on Oskar and probably some other boys idk. It only got weird when Star started to have feelings for Marco while he was still obviously into Jackie, either way it was bad. Actually just now I read the synopsis the time they got feelings for each other was apparently blood moon ball? what? Star was charmed before she realized its Marco okay? and Marco idk didnt trust Tom and wanted to help Star which valid Tom had issues in s1 dskjds
I love Eclipsa so much I think she is my favorite character honestly. and her relationship w Globgor is just everything? Theyre so perfect and sweet and great w each other I want to have what they have ;-; She was so ready to do anything for him and vice versa and while reading some comments I kinda figured out how it feels so dear to me. Ik its interaccial or interspecies relationship so the metaphor isnt perfect but it feels so inherently queer. While being queer myself just seeing them care so much for each other while being ostracized by everyone around hits a bit close to home haha but yeah its amazing. and both of them separately are great too. While ik we only got few minutes of Globgor actually on screen I just liked him every second (and also it was funny to realize the guy from Jane the virgin dubs him pfpfpf) and Eclipsa is amazing too doing everything just to keep her family safe it was great.
okay few more things
I hate how Marco was literally stabbed but it didnt mean shit like at all. Its Stars wand all over again and it bothers me. Like sure it would suck if he died but also dont stab him then?
And I think I dont have to say this but ending is so bad. Like yeah ig the magic dimension when poofing out of existence could connect mewni and earth together but why only earth and mewni and also how did Star and Marco escape magic dimension??? again no consequences to their actions or not really anyway smh
and I havent even touched on magic or world building but thats gonna be another long post tee hee
Either overall I liked svtfoe quite a lot despite its problems and now I just wanna make cosplays and stuff haha

wibble its me val sinclairsolos aka cybriz aka nevdasinc aka nixavia. i was ranting about how the duffers underdeveloped eleven and basically reduced her to "mikes gf that has superpowers" and the only time she shows character is when shes either with hopper or with mike. opinions
OH YOU CHANGED YOUR USER AGAIN
i have to say i disagree. el is given so much character development!! in season 2, we see her begin develop her own sense of morality and begins to build her view of the world thanks to her mom and kali. in season 3, she starts to discover who she is as a person and fights to feel independent from mike and hopper with max, who constantly encouraged her to find herself. in season 4, she’s finally able to find peace with her guilt and feeling like a monster as well as finally letting go of brenner and accepting that he was never what she needed and he only ever used and manipulated her.
i think hopper and mike are her biggest obstacles when it comes to character development. she showed the most growth and change when separated from them. in s5, now that el finally has formed her own opinion on family and has learned to live without hopper, she can start to rely on him again while putting her foot down on her independence with support from joyce, jonathan, and will. once she breaks up with mike, she’ll be able to go through this process with him too!
she’s one of the most well developed characters in my opinion, especially considering that they’ve chosen to subvert the trope of a girl abuse victim relying on the men in her life to “fix her”. el is honestly so interesting because of the way they’ve centered her overall arc around self-discovery and understanding love rather than learning about the world and recovery (which would be more typical).
i can see why you might think that, but i’d heavily encourage you to consider el’s relationships with the byers, max, and brenner to expand on her character development :)

i think a lot of the freaking out from rinas is there’s some pw on twitter claiming to have seen the last 3 eps (including color wars before it was out) bc their mom is a journalist who got the eps early. and they’re saying it ends well for pw and not for rina which kinda makes me feel like they’ll break up next ep but get back together in the finale. now i don’t think that means rina won’t happen it’ll just be prolonged and we’ll be fighting pws who think they’ve won all hiatus which will be annoying but to me rina endgame is inevitable especially if ej really gets that job working at his gfs high school. this person could def be lying i’m trying not to look at their account so idk if they were right about any of their non spoilerly spoilers they were giving about ep 6 but the way they’re so dead set on saying they’re not lying is kinda making me paranoid … this is just me ranting atp sorry 😭😭
Ah, okay. I've seen the tweet you're talking about and I think you'll be happy to know that person was 100%, without a doubt, lying out of their ass. After they posted that tweet, several journalists/reviewers who actually get early screeners for the episodes confirmed that the final episodes had not been sent out to anyone yet.
I'm also 90% sure the person who posted that was one of the people who, earlier this year (after the very real, pro-rina leaks came out) claimed they had seen pw leaks for 310, an episodes that does not exist, even though the rest of us already knew this season only had 8 episodes. So, not only are they a liar, but they don't even know enough to be able to lie with any kind of accuracy.
& never apologize for ranting! My ask box (& my blog in general) is a pro-rant zone lol
