Destiny enemies and enemy models that I really really liked and could've been used more:

Marauder Ultras:

They're fun to fight! They're fast, can use stealth, can use shock blades, and don't have to Boss StompTM. I would've loved to see these guys decked in white, cream, blue, and black if they were on Europa. You don't have to give em Stasis but a different boss than just Large and slow Captain is a nice change of pace.

House Salvation elites (Enforcers, Disciples, and Assisstants)

>Makes 3 custom enemy types that use Darkness powers for the first time, all with unique models and animations

>barely uses them

>they disappear for 2 years

They didn't come back til Seraph! SERAPH. Come on man. These fuckers should've been everywhere throughout BL. I also think their lack of appearance also contributed to the lack of urgency of the "our enemies have darkness now" threat. I mean, we fought like 8 or 9 named "Salvation Elites" but most were just standard Ultra Captains. If they were Elites, they could've just been these guys.

Side note: Out of the new factions of Lucent Hive, Shadow Legion, and House Salvation. Salvation didn't get an "invasion" season to go with their expansion. Robbed. Truly. They made a Military-Industrial Complex and barely set foot anywhere else besides Europa. I also think this was a factor that didnt create any kind of urgency during BL.

Berserkers

Need I say more? Look at this swagged out motherfucker. If House Salvation really subsumed multiple houses under its banner, Kells Scourge included, should've thrown a couple of these bozos out there. Alter the shield mechanic to be more easily disabled by a solo player. Could even make their armor jet black. Given they have stealth itd be a nice visual contrast when they reveal themselves. I didn't play Scourge of the Past too much, but I did enjoy these guys when I did.

(Can you tell I'm biased at this point?)

Psion Flayers

Easy miniboss material. They dont have to be Ultra sized, maybe just slightly bigger than standard Psions. Could even give them a supporting role on the battlefield. Empowering Cabal around them with their enhanced telekinetics, those enhancements varying by elemental type and tying back to our Light 3.0 abilities. (Sun Flayer/Solar=heal, Abyss Flayer/Void=overshields, Storm Flayer/Arc=movement speed). Of course, their armor would have to have more visual differences and distinct silouhettes as I imagine trying to pick out which one is which based on color alone could be difficult for some. Hell, truthfully, I'd be fine if they were just the fucking Psion Sisters from Season of Dawn copy and pasted everywhere. But a supportive role would add more variety to a fight.

Rocket Centurions

Bet you forgot about these dudes, huh? They pop up in the EAZ but, you know, we've been fighting the Cabal for this long, you think more would've strapped rockets to their backs by now. While their missiles are just Colossus slow missiles (iirc), they could just be normal missiles that explode and don't slow just to keep them different. While these could be neat minibosses, if you want an Ultra one at the end of a story mission or something, they could take the Elykris (The Machinist) route of firing missiles where they go straight up in the air and red dots target the ground around you and you have to keep moving. They could've popped back in with the Shadow Legion. I think they could rock black, gold, and purple

Anyway this is mostly about House Salvation and Psion Flayers and I remembered Rocket Centurions in the middle of making this post. If I remember anything, I'll reblog it. I was gonna say something about the other races but Hive don't have a lot of variants that can be turned into minibosses and the Vex got Wyverns (seriosuly. No notes. A perfect enemy type). Obviously it's like way too late to add these to previous story missions, but if we are gonna reuse enemy types, can we reuse some of the cooler ones? Please?

so like the goal for today is to clean the kitchen to some degree, do laundry until the racks are relatively full, and ideally clean my bedroom as well, plus i gotta empty the litterboxes

and its not like i cant get it done or anything its just that im thinking about the kitchen and its just so fucking cluttered. theres shit everywhere. ive got machines and hit on the counters and table, ive got two big boxes on the floor full of stuff i wanna get rid of, i cant even reach like half of the shelves in my kitchen and i can only it so much stuff where i CAN reach, and its just so i-wanna-throw-away-everything-core like. i dont wanna have to keep utensils Just In Case i need them, im tired of having to wash plates and keeping them around just for the cats even tho i dont use them myself, its annoying to not ever have a clean tidy kitchen bench and its really easy to forget ive put soemthing on there so i keep filling the dishwasher and thinking im done and i just turn around and theres six more pots i forgot i had sitting on the other side of the room.

i cant even fit my nicer dessert bowls and such in the cabinets cus theyre full of stuff i got as gifts that i REALLY like and wanna keep but also like who needs 8 waterglasses and 8 mugs at the same time. i love all the stuff i have and i dont wanna gt rid of it but every time i go to grab a mug im instantly like "no i dont want that one i want a different one" but its towards every cup and i cant even get rid of more cups cus i like all my cups and i dont even know what i have in the lower cabinets next to where i store the pots. i NEVER use them. if i want something i use often i store it where i can actually reach it and everything else just gets forgotten so you can imagine my surprise at the dicovery that i have four breadmolds and even christmas cookie tins

and its like that with every room in the house, theres stuff in plain sight i dont want to keep, theras stuff i didnt even know i had that i cant decide whethar i want or not specifically cus im so surprised i even have it and because of nostalgia, theres gifted stuff i actually like, then theres gifted stuff i dont even want to keep cus its just utterly useless to me. like the roomba dad "gave" me because he thought itd help keep the house clean. except its a much bigger hassle than its worth and it can only do one room and its a room i dont use so why bother. i als put gave in quotation marks cus hes coming to pick it up some da, no fucking clue when cus he just said "some day", cus he wants it back so grandma can have it. like. yes fair enough shes struggling to keep the house clean but its still annoying that this keeps happening over and over why does my family keep giving me shit then wanting it back. mom gave me their toaster so i wouldnt have to buy one but she went and just took it cus she just needed it while i was in inpatient. like. ive got furniture i got from either her or dad too. a table and chair set, a dresser, some lamps, christmas ornaments and shit, a christmas tree, some bowls mom gave me so id have bwls until i could buy myself bowls, etc. like i dont use any of it and they can gladly have it all back but they do not get to complain when i try to get rid of it and they dont want it either, and i dont want them changing their mind and wanting the stuff i actually like and use back. i wanna keep that one chair dad gave me and thats non-negotiable.

like. i just really wanna start over w the house. sell or give away all the shit i dont want so i can actually manage everything without exhautsing myself and getting rid of stuff i only keep cus i need it regardless of whether i want it or not. starting over completely interior-design-wise so ill have a better idea of what stuff i actually enjoy and what i actually use and what just feels trashy or just takes up space it doesnt need to take.

anyways i cleaned the bathroom today then washed my hair so thats nice

imo theyve yet to have one but theyre at that point where its obvious they like each other. i like to think lamar would be more conscious about them and what they might like to do as opposed to seeing them as like, another hookup. the uncharacteristic hesitance would probably piss franklin off lol

lamar lol but its also a matter of who's more vocal about their jealousy. when he gets jealous he's very open about it. hed probably annoy franklin into helping him get the other person to back off or something but like other than that? i think hed mostly be pretty harmless. my sona is generally more Levelheaded about it but would probably have mad intrusive thoughts lmaoooo

2. What’s the wedding like? Who attends?

lamar doesnt seem like a wedding OR a marriage kind of person tbh and while my sona would occasionally dream of having a nice, traditional ceremony it's not like it's a Huge requirement for them or a wish theyd die to fulfill so they wouldnt ask for a proposal. however. i think if they spent enough years together OR if he panics and thinks one of them could die soon, he WOULD pop the question (he could propose during a spontaneous shootout imo). theyd have a courthouse marriage as opposed to a traditional ceremony but i dont think itd be a solemn affair or anything. thered be some elements of a traditional wedding (theyd kiss in the courthouse). all of his friends are there (franklins the best man)

5. Who’s the stricter parent?

neither of them are particularly strict, but my sona would be the "firmer" parent. lamar is the "fun" dad whod teach their kid how to ride a bike, and my sona is the "lame" mom whos trying to make sure neither of them drive straight into a ditch. either way tho, one thing both of them ARE strict about is safety. lamar would believe their kid should toughen up, but not to the point of compromising the kid's safety. hed outright give his life for his family. my sona, on the other hand? theyre the quiet mom whos unexpectedly terrifying when its time to confront a particularly mean teacher or the parent of their kid's bully (lamar thinks its hot).

that being said, while not directly related to the question; it takes a village to raise a child, so lamars friends would probably be involved in helping raise the kid.

8. How do they celebrate holidays?

1. everyone is there.

Cryptolalia - Tethered transportation

these kinds of blogs about Cryptolalia will eventually go on my website, but i dont have a dedicated hub on my site yet for OC/story stuff yet so.

but yea anyways, i dont want to be hiding all my brainstorming behind patreon (if i ever go into proper production w something like a comic etc then yes) and i thought itd be nice to just throw down all my current exploding ideas.

I have many many things on my mind but for some reason one of the things ive developed most through my last recent years of thinking is transportation infrastructure & vehicles in Cryptolalia. Remember that this story is based on Earth, and is basically like... “ideal changes” and alternate timeline nonsense of what we currently have. The first thing I wanted to make strikingly different in the world was transportation, since the changes that happen in the timeline are old enough that the course of history regarding cars could be totally different. SO lets get into it!

(do note im not super knowledgeable on logic of science and cars and stuff, a lot of this is my own theories and fun for just having a futuristic and alternate Earth setting)

I would love to draw these out at some point too, but I am so not into vehicle design... so idk when that may happen.

But anyways, I have come up with various ideas regarding transportation in this world, mostly out of spite for what we have on Earth in regards to roads and parking lots. The Earth has basically been molded by Elias, using his own knowledge of “ideal” into Earth's progression. Not everything will be perfect, but lots of changes to infrastructure on Earth were made by Elias ages ago based off what his race has done across multiple generations on various planets.

All vehicles are electric. Or “electric” as in using power from the power source that runs the whole planet (its not electricity but you know what I mean ok). They are often referred to as “tethered vehicles” not just due to their energy source, but also due to the fact they are in a sense, literally tied to something. “tethered” means that the vehicle is on a track of some kind that transfers the energy needed to travel, directly into the vehicle itself. Untethered vehicles exist, but need a specific license to be driven, and all vehicles that are off-track are recorded through an online system. While airplanes and boats exist they are few and more often for transporting goods than people, and are not 'tethered'- meaning most individuals wouldn't likely be using them either due to license (which is different due to being air and water vehicles).

There are two classes of vehicles- individual and community. They are self explanatory... Community vehicles are subways and trains, which transport groups of people and are purely focused on that. Subways and trains are the most common and even have tunnels built underground or in the ocean.

Individual vehicles are for one or two people at most. They are intended for all purposes (work, travel, leisure) and run on similar tracks as the subways and trains- but due to their compact sizes, they are capable of traveling faster, on smaller tracks that weave through locations otherwise inaccessible by large community ones. These vehicles are often seen as high class due to their cost, as many wouldn't care to own one if they are simply going to work or through the city- which is why most if not all individual vehicles are untethered as well, meaning most who own one must have a license for it. But tethered ones exist, and are often much more lightweight and cheaper.

Individual vehicles due to their small size, are often motorcycles and four or three wheeled light utility vehicles (LUVs, also known as ATVs)- but private boats and planes exist as well if you're especially wealthy. Being capable of untethered driving means they are most often capable of off-road driving on rougher terrain. Still, drivers are permitted to certain locations and could be greatly fined for driving in areas they are not allowed. They are most often used by those who work nontraditional jobs that require work out in the land, or by upper class working individuals wanting a free road all to themselves. They can and are often rented to those who work jobs out in the wilderness or away from the city, purely for work purposes.

Road safety & laws are similar to ours but differing to suit this alternate world. Tethered and untethered individual vehicles have different licenses, while all classes of vehicles to as well (land, air, sea, and freight specific trains). The licenses for tethered and untethered are separate and must be kept on the person at all times.

Laws are not all universal, and may be different to accommodate for culture or specifics regarding the country's terrain or infrastructure- but one law across the world is that once a citizen's age reaches the maturity equivalent of 70 human years they must be thoroughly tested on their health and retested if they have an individual license. They must retest for an untethered license, and if they are allowed to operate a such a vehicle after passing, they will face harsher penalties for errors and have it revoked for good if they run into issues in the future.

Tethered lines for vehicles to travel on are considered for safety above all, but cut back on the need for parking lots. Yes, while individual vehicles would expect to take up space, they are logged in a system to be tracked even when going off road. Stations exist that these vehicles must be stored at in order for the user's vehicle status to stay consistent (and to not be fined, or have their license revoked) which are located at the same hubs at which trains and subways are- or or for smaller tracks, along sidewalks. Additionally, some work places have their own small storage hubs for storing these vehicles and logging their status.

Undoubtedly, their storage exists and takes up some space, but the system never allowed for cars, trucks, and larger vehicles to exist in the same way, thus cutting down greatly on wasted space. They are built to be compact and small, and due to the cost of them and the requirements, they aren't as common as most would assume. It is very much the norm to take a train or subway overall, especially for travel within the cities themselves. They are incredibly accessible and the world is heavily built around them.

Design & style of vehicles are often sleek, futuristic. This will no doubt be different across the world, some places consistently of old models or styles while others are more up to date. But within the immediate city Cryptolalia is based in, smoothed out futuristic shapes with white-heavy color choices are common. For those more accustomed to off-roading though, vehicles may show more of the 'guts' in order to not struggle with terrain and allow easy access to maintenance. Untethered off road vehicles will also have slots for extra power, which are shaped like discs, that are found at docking stations (or purchased and charged at home). Trains and subways are just as if not more smooth in shape, fitting right into the tunnels they travel through.

That is like, all I can grab from my brain right now. There is likely more im just forgetting but id be glad to answer any questions poking at the details of this!

Overall my intention is to have a world that has gone very.. idealistically futuristic-- but you'll see those bits about being tracked, and some of the strictness with untethered vehicles. Those aren't intended to be purely good things either. This version of Earth is heavily controlled, even if many parts of it include me inserting my “ideal” concepts, like no parking lots and good subways infrastructure.

I think he owns nice clothes (SHOCKING I KNOW). for special occasions of course. I think he will also really try to stretch what counts as 'formal'. But he can do it I prommy.

No but if he had to choose itd probably be the nastiest one in his closet on accounts of Its Comfortable

I think he has some but i havent decided what/where they are. Strikes me as the type of guy to get like. hyperspecific pinup girls or like a really detailed back tattoo that no one is ever gonna see. Probably.

Honestly besides college degrees, specialized "lab supplies", and the occasional Treat i dont think hes…..awful with money?? claims to live frugally so he can spend his (non)money on stuff he really cares about, is actually just bordering on being a hoarder and has a lot of confidence in his ability to pay off credit cards that hasnt failed him yet. loves the minimum-monthly-due-in-a-week Grind.

Aforementioned lab supplies. LOVES shiny new equipment that hes only gonna use once.

I think when he Is willing to shop for something he has an eye for the Strange And Unique. As well as quality. Somewhat bougie taste for a guy who is so…slobbish. Guy who owns a set of vintage uranium glass kitchenware but only eats off of paper plates and thrift store forks.

i think more often than not they're intertwined in his line of work but i'd say hes better at ideas (creative) than execution (technical). not bad at either tho. terrible how good this looks on paper and hes still the worst person youve ever met.

kinda vague question but of course. i think he has dabbled in plant and animal breeding/modification in his past (still thinks about it) so if you count those as Things then itd be primarily that along with other misc. projects for himself. Less questionably, i think he's also probably a guy that gives you like. a custom macrame or bracelet or shirt or whatever other gay hobby hes picked up for the week for your birthday.

pretty much anything that hes not interested in <3 but specifically i don't think he'd want to talk about his personal life if HE wasnt the one to bring it up first bcz hes defensive and shitty. Ground - Favorite Outdoor Activity

Ushio's is going picnics and nature walks! I like to imagine on warmer days off they have a picnic at a nice park and read together with snacks! Maybe get comfy under a tree and either read the same book together or tell eachother about what theyre reading! Its treated kinda like a pot luck where they both bring some different stuff - at least while they arent living together. Once they are? Even better - they can pick or make whatever they want together!

Chiaki's is probably basketball but he's outdoorsy in general so I dont think he's too picky! maybe theme parks count for that as well?

I like to imagine ushiaki playing street basketball together or chiaki inviting her to play outdoor basketball or other odd activities with sports survivors on occasion! Ushio's not that good at it, but its fun at least !

Ghost - Has your f/o ever helped you get over a fear?

If I had to bring up one, itd probably be driving! Ushio drives now, but had lots of anxiety about it before she finally learned. I like to think chiaki was a big support in giving her the courage to get out of her comfort zone in general as well.

He wants to be a supportive boyfriend and see her succeed, after all! He decrees it a hero's duty to make sure she can face any of lifes troubles!

I'll add a vice versa to this one as well since I have thoughts and I think itd be fun! Ushio's trying her best to help chiaki feel less scared of horror related media! To varying degrees of success - he seems like the type who would insist he could face it if its for his partner, but as mentioned in the general info post, Ushio definitely knows how hard it is for him. She'd never want him stressed or scared, she wants him to have fun!

If they ever go to haunted houses or watch movies together, Ushio would try and point out funny details or impressive set pieces she spots to help him feel more at ease. Helps remind him theyre all just sets like his own favorite shows and media - and a rare moment where ushio gets to play the hero!

Fuckkk dudeeee i likeeee. Mannnn that was a good fuckin episode. Took all day 2 finish it 2 bc i began in tje morning then hung out with oscarrrrrrr ^u^ then finished it now. Heya!

I just watched the Phineas birthday clipshow episode. It was interesting? A few of the clips I wasn’t sure where they were from, though. For example, Candace screaming in a different art style, and Heinz being turned inside-out? It’s like there’s a missing episode. I want to see episodes with all the stuff that was referenced but never shown. Like what Phineas and Ferb did the day when Candace was waiting to buy tickets for some band? I forgot the exact episode it was, but it shows Phineas and Ferb having to clean up their own project because Candace didn’t bring Linda to get rid of it. Also, in the episode where they build that huge fort, they shrink it down because of “those pesky zoning laws” which gives an explanation for the times they took down their own creations instead of the stuff getting hit by a Go-Away-Inator or whatever.

Anyways, the episode wasn’t great, but I liked the part where Heinz said something like “whatever, I’m not gonna waste my best stuff on a clipshow!” I thought that was remarkably self aware. Another thing I liked was when Candace was running with the disk and she kept avoiding the things trying to get rid of it. She literally dodges the invisible force like she’s a professional athlete and then.. ends up destroying it herself because it’s Phineas’s birthday! Which is nice.

The one thing I really disliked about that episode, however, was how it implied that that was the first time Candace did something nice for Phineas?? Sure, she’s working against him most of the time, but she’s his sister! She does nice things for him! I would have preferred if the episode had expanded on her original worry: “what do you get the boy who can make anything?” It could have been like that old story where the king invents the bed because his wife already has everything that exists! But instead Candace goes off to steal the disk from Buford. I would have preferred if Candace was given a disk to edit as well, but she didn’t have any good footage, and then she got to go and see Isabella and Baljeet’s, and then finally Buford with the good stuff. Maybe she is tempted to show her mom, but instead she gives the disk to Irving and he puts it into the show for Phineas! And along the way, I wished she had actually intended for that tool she got for him to BE a gift. Phineas is so happy about it, it just would have been sweet if maybe the episode started with him mentioning he wants one, and maybe he explains that it’s illegal to just make one as an explanation for why he didn’t make one yet, and then when Candace accidentally ends up with one she can give it to him as a gift instead of just.. crying and he takes it from her??

Also!! I think the BEST way to end the episode would have been a compilation of all the times Candace and Phineas did things together! It would have been so nice, it could have them singing gitchee gitchee goo and when Candace helped distract Linda for their parents anniversary. Stuff like that! Or maybe even just a compilation of Candace being really cool, showing all her best moments to show how Phineas views his older sister: super cool! Anyways, I just think Candace deserved better than a one off joke, is all… if they really wanted to do the joke about this being the first time for something, they could have had Heinz getting doomed by a puppet for the first time. That way it sets up him making the same joke in the movie! I think it would be cool.

waddle dee and mk headcanons under the cut

even though waddle dees and waddle doos look really similar, and even refer to each other as cousins, waddle doos are actually closely related to Kracko. Waddle doos just happen to look similar and have the same features as waddle dees, but this is misleading. It's basically dreamland's version of carcinization

idk how sailor dee joined MK's crew (in canon or whatever idea is most agreed upon in the fanbase), but I'd like to think he snuck on the ship as a stowaway. he just wanted to see the inside of the ship, but got stuck on it when it actually took off. I guess MK made him do some chores as a small slap on the wrist (although dedede doesnt really count the waddle dees, so itd probably be a while before he notices one missing) but did some thinking and thought it would be good to have extra help on the ship, with ddd's permission of course and the kid's adorable come ON

also sailor dee is small, so they just cleaned up an old broom closet on the ship for him as his quarters; he has a hammock, and a small shelf for personal belongings, clothes, toys, etc. any drawings he makes in his free time get taped to the door by one of the Meta-Knights.

I also mentioned this in the kirby suburbs server god im so sorry for clogging up the channel, but i also have some headcanons for the waddle dees bc i love them

waddle dees use any pronouns (but i usually use he or they), they all wear the same smock. originally i wanted dedede to call each of them using different pronunciations of "waddle dee" like ice king to gunter, but i think the name tag thing is way funnier. its basically dedede wanting to be a little polite and call each of them by their name, so he made the name tag system so he could tell them apart. but the thing is that theyre ALL NAMED WADDLE DEE, so it backfired lmao

but the waddle dees are nice so they kept the name tag thing even after dedede figured out it wasnt gonna work and stopped putting name tags on them. instead, they all made their own name tags bc they like making them and they all wanna feel a little special (and they dont understand WHY they need nametags, for them its like idk why the king wanted us to do this but its ok :) this is fun :))

also it indirectly ended up working anyway because you can tell a little bit of what each waddle dee is like based on their name tag; like one might like baking so they made their name tag shaped like a biscuit, another might like knitting so they knitted a freaking name tag, maybe one really likes being a little fancy so they wrote their name in cursive, or one just wanted to feel included so they scribbled their name on a piece of paper and slapped it on their shirt.

also waddle dees can stick to each other like balloon friction. this can happen accidentally when they cuddle, or when dedede gets bored and wants to see how many waddle dees it takes to reach the ceiling. this is how you get the waddle dee balls in star allies

i cant imagine the waddle dees having a set age, so i threw that out the window, theyre all mcdonalds cup small size. they dont have an age, theres technically no biologically oldest or youngest waddle dee UNLESS you get assigned youngest, which is sailor dee, he is considered youngest waddle dee by popular opinion (dedede usually calls them kids bc theyre jUST LITTLE GUYS!! but this isnt to ship them with adult characters, i just cant think of an age that would best represent them as gijinkas)

when you pick up waddle dees you scoop them up like puppies :)

for my purposes, king dedede became the waddle dees ruler by accident and never bothered to correct them. he found one outside the castle and nursed it back to health, but his robe kind of resembles a kings robe, so it mistook him for a king. and waddle dees have some sort of hive mind, so waddle dees just kept showing up at dedede's castle (he found bandee passed out carrying another waddle dee as opposed to the lone waddle dee, so dedede took a liking to him all the way from the start)

on a related note, bandee is more active and energetic compared to the other waddle dees, which tend to loiter around the castle or outside. kirby likes playing with him because hes usually down to do whatever kirby wants to do, theyre best friends <3

idk how the GSA works in the anime, but im placing meta knight somewhere lower on the warrior hierarchy. not exactly legendary veteran among their ranks, but not unexperienced; they assigned him to popstar long before kirby arrived so he's kind of on standby and doesn't report to them unless they contact him first (and then the GSA disbanded or something and MK never found out and still thinks hes on standby, idk)

so MK is more awkward and by the book because he starts out doing everything the way he was trained, not with a certain experience you earn on the field. he does mellow out, so hes less stiff even though he still keeps to himself. hes not really jaded either, just not very social and not good at conversations (which ppl misinterpret as being cool and edgy? kind of true)

the scar on his face is from the first time he encountered kirby. dreamland is relatively peaceful so he hasnt had to face off against anyone in years, and this was before he and kirby were properly acquainted. thats also what motivatds him to train more of his own free will rather than whats been expected of him, both to be a good role model/mentor/dad to kirby, and to do things for himself.

bandee may be dedede's second in command/kid, but MK is dededes husbands no questions asked. if you ask them if theyre dating dedede will probably say something like "we're bfs," and he doesnt tell you if that means boyfriends or best friends, but its between them so thats that

they mostly hate eachother idk what you want from me. arlo hates john- he thinks hes immature and stupid and irresponsible. john hates arlo- he thinks hes stuck up and a prick and a general bad person. they both hate each other, and have both severely hurt each other. arlo, because of his beliefs, pushed john into a situation that forced him to relapse into his [self]destructive tendencies. john proceeded to use, berate, and blame from that point on. they're characters with such different point of views and have both been severely hurt by the system, but neither of them refuse to acknowledge that the other has been hurt. while john blames himself for what hed become, he covers that up by blaming the system. on the other hand, arlo doesnt even recognize the fact that hes been affected by the hierachy [his obsession with order].

POTENTIAL

TENSIONNNNN. mm we've seen that arlo is capable of being kind, or at least pretending to be kind, to john. from that point, that couldve developped into genuine affection for each other, much like a fake dating trope. and it would work, however, thats not the way story evolved. currently, they both hate each other. arlo's also shown to feel guilty about his actions, at least to some degree. they could both push each other to further goals and enlighten the other to different perspectives [much like john and sera's friendship]. a romantic relationship between the two would be very multi-faceted and interesting to see play out considering their backstories and previous interactions. [but itd be so cute for them to go soft on each other]. they could also grow as people which would be nice :>

BAD BAD BAD. TOXIC AS FUCK. they fucking hate each other. a relationship like theirs could go bad so fucking fast. everyone in unordinary has a track record of shit communication, and holy fuck these two are so bad at it. there'd be no trust or communication between these two. even if they did forgive each other to what happened, its not healthy to just move on from what they did. arlo fucked john over, and so did arlo. both of them, specifically arlo, are not in stable positions as of the moment. engaging in a relationship would be unhealthy and toxic. likely, one bad incident could set off a spiral for both since it could trigger john's ptsd and very distinctly remind him of what arlo did to him. of course, relationships are not certainly toxic or certainly healthy, its just these two have a high potential of turning sour.

PERSONAL OPINION

i like it, personally. the appeal to me, i think, is the idea of them growing as people. character development is sexy. seeing them grow from who they were at the start, and actually take the time to care and understand of each other would be so satisfying. picturing them in a healthy relationship rn- its good !! theyd have nice banter and would challenge each other's opinions, but in a way that supports the relationship rather than break it down.

IN CONCLUSION...

good chemistry. high potential and they could definitely have a good relationship, but that depends on if theyre genuinely going to put in the effort to grow as people and understand each other. however, can get toxic real fast especically with the tendency of them to hold grudges and their history. unlikely to ever be canon, but theyve got good tension :>

Raphael squinted his eyes.

For the past twenty-two minutes he’d been wondering what was wrong with this picture. His breakfast was getting cold and he’d even neglected to smack Mikey’s hand away when he stole a piece of bacon off his place.

Raphael took pride in his observation skills, often he noticed plenty of things in his environment but while Donatello ran commentary on it he usually kept the information to himself. He shared a room with his youngest brother so he knew any odd shift when it came to Mikey. He is very close with Donnie, spending a few sleepless nights by his side while the genius tinkered away at projects, even lending a hand here and there.

Leonardo for all of his hard headed ways and their personality clashes, he felt he knew him well enough too. The leader though, was much more guarded in his emotions which made for some difficult moments to completely gage his older brother.

You on the other hand were an open book, plenty of times he’d spent time with you, getting to know plenty of your ticks and thoughts. Raph considered you a close friend, a confidant he could turn to.

But as you all sat together for a late breakfast. Mikey inhaling his while Donnie’s overworked eyes looked into his coffee cup as if lifes answers laid there, Leo and you were just sitting there, suspiciously.

You were still in your sleep wear, Leo’s groggy movements mechanical as he ate on autopilot. You yawned reaching for a coffee refill and without command or hesitation Leo had pushed the creamer and sugar towards you, going so far to place the exact amount of both in your mug. You had given him a sweet smile, reaching a hand to thumb a crumb away from the corner of his mouth.

Raphael raised a brow ridge, well naturally that could translate to common kindness. You all knew each other, often April had in some form or shape probably done something similar. He poked a few pieces of eggs into his mouth, now he was intrigued.

He picked up a few more instances where his curiosities got the better of him.

For instance one afternoon while you were over he had decided to gather info. Raphael had kitchen duty and you had stuck around to help him out. “What’s up with you?” A common not so invasive question, you shrugged. “Same old, same old” You gathered plates to set the table. Raphael kept his gaze at the task at hand, cutting tomatoes for the sauce he was preparing. “Yeah but have you done anything? Gone out with friends? Maybe found your future husband?” He chuckled even more so when you nudged him with an elbow. “A forget you have a sense humor under all that angst” Raph smiled, the two of you often bickered Iike this.

Truth be told you had never mentioned a boyfriend or a girlfriend, the subject was never really breached. With the amount of time you spent in the sewers with them it never came up if you had some partner or if you even were dating. Raphael added the tomatoes into a pot, you joined his side ready to help with more cutting of condiments.

Then Leo arrived and he felt the air shift, he peaked a glance at you, a small smile playing on your lips. Leo in turn greeting the two of you before he made his way towards the fridge to retrieve something to drink. “Want something?” He asked from the fridge and honest to God Raph was very sure he wasn’t asking him. You nodded extending a hand for the soda he gave you, he leaned against the fridge and chatted you up as nonchalant as ever.

Nothing in the small chat raised any flags, Raph’s sauce almost burning from how intently he was concentrating of quite literally eavesdropping on you two. You laughed at something he mentioned, that was bizarre because Leo was seriously not even funny but he could be biased on that end.

“Your hair looks pretty that way” Leo spoke, a tad bit shyly. Raph stirred the sauce, brow ridges shooting up, ‘real smooth big bro’ he couldn’t help but think. Then again he had probably at some point told April the same thing, well they all had commented on April being pretty in all manners of ways.

But this felt just the taddest bit different?

He excused himself having to get back to whatever he was doing. Raph squatted to get something from the bottom cupboards, he didn’t miss the blush on your cheeks.

“Yer hair does look nice like that” He tested, you beamed brightly at him. “Thank you, you’re very sweet when you put your heart into it” She teased smacking a hand towel at him.

Inconclusive results.

For now.

This stupid notion continued to bother Raphael, curiosity would kill the turtle in this case. He wanted to know if truly something was amiss there and you both being friends he wondered why you just hadn’t flat out told him what was up. Nevertheless he couldn’t drop the bomb on you, you could be motorfide or maybe deny it to high hell. Asking Leonardo was out of the question, he sure as hell wouldn’t say a thing.

So Raphael kept his gaze glued as you parted ways for the night. You gave a hug and kiss to everybody, quite normal for your loving nature. He got his hug and kiss, so did Donnie, April and Mikey. Once you landed on Leo you did the same.

He could’ve sworn you lingered a little more, going so far as to whisper something to him because Leo gave a little huff of a laughter and smiled. He definitely slid his hand away from your lower back quite slowly.

Maybe, just maybe...

One patrol night he got stuck with Leo while Mikey and Donnie were doing rounds on the truck. They were scouting out a bank that was rumored to be hit soon by a group of robbers. Raph didn’t mention you, in fact he patiently waited for these robbers to possibly show up.

Something vibrated and his gaze landed on Leo who was reaching a hand into his pocket to pull out his phone. His concentrated and serious featured softening with whatever he read on the screen. He typed back something quick, shaking his head from whatever image or words or whatever had been provoked out of him. “Everything good?” Raphael asked, Leo nodded as if back to ‘normal’ and that absolutely was suspicious in his book.

That night didn’t yield any resolution and honestly it’s around this time that Raph regrets this little task that had occupied his time. He had originally decided to leave it as inconclusive, at some point You two dummies had to say or do something. He had been rummaging his room for his hand wraps, more than ready to get his nightly workout in order. When he had come up empty handed he exited towards Leo’s room, he always had them which annoyed the red banded brute.

His first mistake was not knocking or making his incoming presence known. A rookie mistake considering he lived with three young adult brothers.

His second mistake was just barging in like he owned the place. An annoyed “Jesus Leo quick taking my shit” spewing out of him.

If mistakes One and Two had been adverted he wouldn’t be standing here, wide eyed and frozen.

Because he really didn’t need to see his brother stark ass naked on top of his best friend who he basically considered a little sister, equally naked to boot. There was a solid fifteen seconds where Raphael didn’t know if he running out was the best option, mumbling a ‘shit my bad’ was better or if covering his eyes and screaming at his brother that he better be a gentlemen to you cause you’re a great gal.

Leonardo’s hands cupped your exposed breast for modesty sake, the need for the ground to dramatically open up and swallow him whole heavy in his mind. You had squeaked when Raph barged in, hands super glued to Leo’s rear and god why couldn’t you scream and let go and scream some more.

Raphael finally turned around, an embarrassed heat breaking over his body as he groaned in disgust. “Shit fuck, sorry sorry! I didn’t see shit!” Oh but he did and oh did he crave bleach. “Raph get out! This is why you knock!” Leo chucked a pillow at his brothers shell. You had finally let go of Leo’s rear, covering your face in mortification. “Hang a sock or something outside then!! I can’t read minds!” Raph bellowed.

Mistake number 3 happened because Raphael was a drama Queen through and through and the shouting only helped to alert his brothers towards the room.

“Can you two not fight for five whole minu-OH GOD SORRY!” Donatalleo had exited as quickly as he had approached the room. Mikey thankfully barely saw anything since Raph and Donnie yanked him out which Leo was thankful, he knew Mikey would never let this situation go.

A very quiet hour passed by.

Nobody wanting to say anything. Mikey had left for the tunnels to skateboard for a while. Donnie had thrown himself into truck repairs not even wanting to discuss what his eyes had briefly seen.

And Raphael had sat on the couch, every few minutes making a face whenever his brain decided to bring back the nights events. He heard movement from Leo’s room, the small pitter patter that belonged to your feet. Raph kept his gaze down, whatever playing on the tv long forgotten, he saw your feet when they tentatively approached the couch.

“Um Raph” Your tone was hushed.

“Didn’t see anything, matter of fact nothing happened” Raph grabbed the remote, you sat down and sighed. “Listen you weren’t the one with your tits out here” You crossed your arms grumbling, Raph almost chortled but then he remembered Leo and simply made a face.

“Why didn’t you tell me you and him were a thing? We’re friends, I mean you can do better but you know” He smiled when he felt your elbow smack his arm. “He’s really nice don’t be so mean” You sat back on the corner, Raph looked at you, you were wearing an oversized shirt clearly spending the night.

“Sorry for ah, not knocking” Raph spoke softly.

“Sorry for no telling you I had it bad for your brother” You smirked, enjoying Raph’s disgruntled expression.

You scooted close and hugged his massive arm, Raph smiled. “He better be good to ya... and well, don’t break his heart, he’s an ass but he’s my big brother” You nodded against his arm.

You had stayed for a little before returning back to Leo’s room, the leader was reading on his bed but quickly looked up when you came in. “Everything alright?” He asked tentatively. You nodded climbing into bed and in between his legs to lay on him. “We could’ve so gone a better way telling everybody, at least it’s out and we can just be ourselves” You rested against him, Leo’s chin a top your head.

He wrapped his arms tightly around you and smiled. “I’m never living this down but I’m happy we can just be ourselves” He poked your sides earning an earnest squeal from you.

Outside Raphael could hear the quiet giggling and laughter. He was happy for the two of you, it made sense.

Mikey walked in, board in hand and sweaty from skating for hours.

“So Leo loses his V card first, huh brah?”

Raphael groaned.

Lolol the number one complaint and we weren't allowed a question on the survey lolol oddly understandable but let's see if they make good work on that! Maybe they will? Dalcom I know did similar things but it wasn't that in depth questions like this so very curious

Tbh the entire comeback is interesting to me! Like I know to some fans they say svt is "predictable" with concept pics or how it plays out like some still say it with this one but imo it feels different? Like the concept photos are interesting how they seem to follow a story but then boom, fast and furious with the last one lol. But oh Gosh the topic about the more producers *sigh* but like can some fans take a chill pill on this topic? I feel like everytime we see more producers, some fans get a tad bit too worried on this and I do get it but also let's just wait? We haven't heard ANY of the songs yet and everyone is already acting like it is going to sound like a certain hybe artist English song that came out that asks about permissions to dance lol. Again, I do get the slight worry but imo as long as we still see a heavy involvement of the usual people of svt music (bumzu and woozi) we shouldn't worry too much. Now if they were seen less and less, yeah we should get worried but their names are ontop. They are still hands on and I doubt either of them would allow a song to not have their svt touch that makes svt music well, their music and I know some fans are going to be itching to correct me about how post bighit it isn't BUT as you answered another ask about this exact topic, everyone has their own opinion on this and I can confirm this was happening BEFORE bighit move. I have seen it happen during fear era myself how everyone was saying "omg fear is not seventeen!!" Or how everyone was saying seventeen needs to go back to "making good music like in boys be era" and I simply just think its a matter of preference on what you like to listen to? Sure you can sometimes see the decline for some artists but if anything for svt imo it is consistent just there are changes. Its normal and common. To me they haven't changed in quality musical wise, it still is something you can connect to svt even post bighit. I agree with many of your points on this topic that is constantly brought up like how this is out of our control, at the end of the day we have no idea what happens behind the scenes so who knows how those music sessions actually happened. Producers will work with artists regardless of they are fans or not, as long as I don't see a questionable producer on a svt song? I'm good imo. Sometimes it works i mean rwy is a good example because why it felt very punk rock for some like myself and that might be because one of the people behind the song is the person behind the band, the ready set! So fellow emo carats you can rejoice lol it is cool to see that sometimes. It was a nice blend of western but it has that svt touch. But of course some would argue back and say no it isn't and we are going in circles lol. Always will be sadly for every comeback you cannot please fans at all because as you mentioned, they worked with outside producers before being in bighit so now I bring the question to some fans is, would we see some of the producers that did work with popular kpop groups still work with svt if they were not in bighit? My answer is yeah because svt is a pretty popular group that is growing still. They are well loved and respected so I'm sure we would have seen those names pop up. Maybe it would be less but I don't think we should all be saying itd bighit to blame when again as you said, svt worked with other producers before.

Which is why finally what you said with how really arguing about this isn't going to get us anywhere, like I even said I have seen this topic before so it isn't going away but it is pointless to argue (note not saying you cannot discus but I hope you know what I mean here) Wait until you hear the songs? Because then you can decide is it really a decline or is it you just not liking the song? I mean it is also ok to not like all songs svt make and considering how long they are a group, it makes sense. For Pete sakes boomboom is still somehow seen as the song many carats don't like xD like i love boomboom but hey, you are allowed to not like that song!

yeah, ultimately i think everything you said comes down to compassion and respecting other's opinions and tastes. like, everyone's going to have a different threshold for when they get worried about the production credits. personally i get somewhat worried seeing 15 names i don't recognize on a tracklist, there are some people who don't pay attention or give to shits about the producers, there are others like you who would get worried if woozi and the other members weren't the first names on the list. and there are others who would worry seeing one new name they don't recognize

and like, i don't think there's anything wrong with any of those points of view. but i think we should understand where other people are coming from. ultimately i think every fan wants good music from svt, we just have different opinions on what that looks like. and at the end of the day, as fans, none of us have control over any of that so it's pointless to argue. i think it's fine to be able to say "this isn't important to me, but i get why you would be worried about it" or "this is something i worry a lot about, but just because you don't also worry about it doesn't mean you don't care at all"

and the same goes for the songs themselves, regardless of who produced it. i said this in the last ask i answered but i really wish people would recognize that just because they don't like a song doesn't mean it's bad or that it's not svt, bc if svt are involved in producing a song, isn't it inherently svt?

but on the other hand i think there needs to be a balance between recognizing that it's fine if some fans don't like a given comeback, and also recognizing that it is possible for certain releases to alienate a lot of fans. i think fear is a good example of this, because it was very divisive and the reason for that is it WAS a lot different from the music svt had released before. and i don't think there's anything wrong with liking or disliking the song. but it's important for for both fans of fear (as well svt and pledis themselves) to recognize that it's expected for a lot of carats to not like it given that svt up til that point had largely built their career and fanbase on brighter songs, which fear was very much not

and i think the balance of that is that, again, it's okay for any individual to like or dislike any song. and if you're someone who likes a divisive song, you need to think about why others may not like it and recognize that that's okay. and if you're someone who's on the other side of things, recognize that it's okay to like an artist and not like every song. and if you're not liking a lot of the new music, you may be happier moving on rather than getting your expectations let down over and over again waiting for an old sound. it can be disappointing when it happens, but artists are allowed to change their sound and try new things

the last thing i would like to challenge though, is that i don't think that just because a change in concept or new songs are bringing in more fans necessarily means that "something's still working". i get that this is a defense against fans who are the type to be stuck in the past and hate on every new release. which i agree can be frustrating, but it's a line of thinking i would caution against. the reason for this is because it's essentially saying that, as long as we get numbers (whether it's views or sales), it doesn't matter whether we drive away old fans. and that it not a good formula for a healthy or stable fanbase, because it prioritizes numbers over keeping the loyalty of fans. it's possible to stay popular with that approach, but if you continue to follow whatever the current trend is just to get views, then you're going to have a lot of turnover in your fandom which can be an issue for a lot of reasons

and like, i'm not mad at you or anything for saying that. i think it's sort of a non-issue for carats at the moment anyway because despite svt having a few controversial releases (namely fear and rtl, and possibly rwy) and concerns over producers, i really don't think there's like a mass exodus of old fans who hate the new sound lol. and while i do think svt's sound has changed since debut (they haven't stayed freshteen for 7 years straight), i do think they're aware of their fanbase and they try to make music they think carats (and they themselves) will like. and they've said that they don't just make music to follow the trend either. and even if this was a problem, it's not like it's something we as fans have direct control over anyway, because we don't decide what music svt releases

but it is something i wanted to flesh out a bit because i think it's a statement that carries a lot of implications and can be dismissive to any old fans who are having trouble liking newer releases. because whether you relate to it or not, it's very valid to feel upset if a group you really like has moved toward a sound you don't like. and some people can definitely be annoying about it, but at the end of the day i think the best way for it to be handled is for those people to recognize on their own if they need to move on from the fandom if they're really enjoying it that little

again, it all comes down to compassion. it's okay to like a song or not, but be compassionate to those who are struggling with not liking new songs, and be compassionate to those who are enjoying music, even if it's music you personally don't like

Johnny Joestar x Reader :: Wait for It :: Chapter 7

Summary: Gyro is hospitalized, and now Johnny has no one to turn to. That is, until a former female rider shows him a little compassion.

The atmosphere out in this grassy field felt much better to say the least. Probably the most comfortable you’d been throughout this whole race. No fighting, no people, and plenty of roaming space for your horse.

You and your riding partner, aka Johnny, had mostly eaten your leftovers in silence. He had devoured the meal a lot faster than you thought he would. He’s still growing, you guessed.

Laughing to yourself earned a side-eye from him, before wiping his hands of all the leftover crumbs. Johnny heaves a content sigh, staring at the empty to-go box. The man did a couple of arm stretches, seems like the food really wore him out. Or made him sleepy.

Now that you had a chance to unwind today, you couldn't help but realize how calm he was around you. He wasn’t wary or suspicious of you as far as you could tell, and he wasn’t really pushing you away when having conversations. He was just..doing his own thing.

Perhaps he was too busy missing his riding partner to even attempt to start any real conflict on his own.

Before you knew it, Johnny was back on his wheelchair, wheeling himself towards Slow Dancer to mount again. You were pretty much done with your own food as well. It was good, but not nearly good enough to start a bar fight for.

Standing on your feet, you dusted any excess grass from your pants. You knew you were probably gonna miss this spot, but it was better to go ahead and move on. There was still a lot you needed to learn, according to your ‘mentor’.

A cool, satisfying breeze passed by as you walked back up to your horse Soarin’. It really was a nice day out. You glanced over to Johnny, but he wasn’t on his horse yet. Actually, it looked like he was a bit angry. Furious even, if his face getting slightly red was any indication.

You looked up to see a familiar face, yet one you haven't seen since the beginning of the race.

What was his name again, you thought...DJ...Damon...oh, Diego.

You had practically no idea who this guy was, aside from the fact he was British and had stolen the lead for the majority of the race. You didn’t particularly know him because he was a foreign racer, you mainly focused on the popular riders in your own country.

Yet it seemed like Johnny had some prior business with him, evident by him almost literally seething in his seat.

"The hell do you want, Dio, leave us alone!" He pointed at the taller man, hoping itd emphasize how he wanted him to back off.

"Hmm..Where is the Italian idiot anyway? It's almost strange seeing you without being latched to his side like a Chihuahua." Diego said, dismissively of Johnny's threat.

The ex jockey gripped the handle of his wheelchair so hard his knuckles might turn white in a matter of minutes. Though his face said something different, like he was trying to keep his cool but his body couldn't help but demonstrate his frustration.

He swallowed a lump in his throat.

"None of your business. Don't you have anything other to do than bother me?"

The Brit opened his mouth to say something else, before you caught his eye. The blue orbs quickly scanned you before looking back at Johnny.

"Oh? Having other racers aid you? Are you that desperate for help since you can't do anything alone?"

Johnny sneered. Did this guy get off on confronting someone just to insult and degrade them? There was nothing stopping Johnny from punching Diego in the face (except for onlookers, which he could care less about honestly) so he wasn't sure where he thought his hubris would get him, but if Jojo has any say in it, it'll get him in the hospital.

He had been so far in his own mind after that remark that he hadn't even realized your presence beside him now. You had already spoken up before he got the chance to tell you it wasn't worth it.

"Actually, I'm not helping him, he's helping me." You corrected the arrogant man.

Raising an eyebrow at you, he places a hand on his hip in a way that implies he really didn't care about what you said.

In that case, you wouldn't hold back either.

Dio puts his hand on his chest like a petty rich girl in high school.

"Who are you again? In all my time in this race I haven't seen you."

You knew that was a subtle jab about him being first and you being so far behind you were barely noticeable. Fists almost automatically balled up at that, but you'd control yourself for now.

"I'm sure you hardly look at anyone except your mirror. By now it's probably been splotched in horse manure by now, so really it's showing you what you've looked like all along."

Johnny snickers, and it's probably the cutest thing you've seen all day.

..in a friendly way of course.

His lip twitches, showing his teeth, a fang pointedly sticking out. Weird, you thought. You hadn't seen anyone with a fang in years.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Dio tried to interrogate, but you weren't scared at all. In fact, you were just getting started on this guy.

"It means you look like horse shit, duh." Johnny answered, folding his arms. A small smirk still on his face.

“Watch it, Joestar.” Diego sneered. For someone who dished it out like second nature, he sure couldn’t take it. “One wrong move and I can ruin your standing in the race, AND your reputation--or at least, what’s left of it.”

You roll your (e/c) eyes. You’ve had enough of this guy, what was this, a playground?

“Dude shut up, if you want to prove anything then win the whole damn race and stop talking like you already have.” One more retort and you’ll fly off the handle at him.

Diego stays silent for a moment, before leaning in to your face, his nose inches from yours.

“I already have. You’re welcome to join me when you’re done playing in the mud with poor Jojo.”

Before you could reply, he reeled back and turned on his heel. You wanted to punch him so bad, how dare he talk down to you and your friend like this..

“Don’t do it (y/n).” You hear Johnny behind you. “As much as I wanna see it happen, he’s not wrong about being able to sabotage both of us.”

You grunted. “What could you possibly care about our ‘reputations’, Johnny? That was pure disrespect, and I can’t let it fly!”

“...” He was looking at the ground now, seeming like he was trying to find whatever reason he could to prevent you from firing off. Johnny sighs.

“Look, I’ll be straightforward with you. I’m not in the race for money or status.”

You turned around at that, fairly confused.

“I’m in this race to..learn a technique from my friend, Gyro. I could care less about the stuff Diego desperately wants me to so he can have ammo to bug me with. However, you seem pretty set on trying to prove yourself that you can do this. I’ve seen it when we train.”

“..Seen what?”

Johnny pauses.

“Your determination. This is probably gonna sound dumb, but your eyes, they’ve been different. Like there’s some kind of fire in them now. Honestly, since joining this race, I can relate. Its part of why i’m still deciding to help you after you’ve..” His eyes become sarcastically half lidded. “Gotten me into almost two fights now.”

A scoff escapes your lips. What on Earth was this man saying anymore? Though you wouldn’t deny, it was a bit encouraging to hear.

The scoff was a bit off-putting to him, and he took another pause. He looked a little...flustered? You weren’t sure what that meant. Did you make him feel stupid on accident?

“That’s why...I’m not letting you take the chance to have Diego potentially ruin all your chances. This training would be for nothing.”

Something inside you suspected there was another reason, but you wouldn’t question it. Walking forward to him, you bent over to meet his eye level in his chair.

“Fine. I’ll beat up Diego after the race is over. Let’s get to our horses.” You take the wheelchair handles and starting walking towards Slow Dancer.

You couldn’t see it but, Johnny had a faint smile on his face.
