I don’t believe in a god but I do believe In people.
People who hurt but still care so much.
People who are scared but still fight for what they believe in.
People who burn so bright and don’t let others put them out.
People who have lost so much but still love so freely.
People who will stand up against power even if it means danger.
People who fight even if it’s not their battle.
People who appreciate everything no matter how small.
People who see beauty in everything and share it for the world to see.
I don’t believe in a god but I do believe in people and for me that’s enough.

I’m really enjoying The Blazing Trail, and can’t wait for the next update! Do you know when it’ll be updated? No rush, just my mind coming up with millions of theories about it. Also, one last thing, do you have plans for Blackpaw to eventually confront Tigerclaw? Thanks, have a nice day/evening!
i'm literally fighting for my life rn-- that demon called Writer's Block has me in a choke-hold. i want to get out the next chapter as much as i'm sure you want to read it, but i've been in a rut thinking everything i put to paper is absolute garbage right now. that and i've also been looking over the older chapters (especially the prologue) and gritting my teeth because i want to rewrite them. i'm resisting temptation.... for now.
that said, i really, really hope to get out a chapter out to you guys this weekend or next. i'm off work for three days and hopefully i can spend some time writing and polishing off this chapter.
that said, i am more than happy to hear some of your theories! even if your theories aren't the direction i want to go in, talking about my fic always makes me want to write more of it! i mostly talk about this fic with my friends, and they know pretty much the whole storyline. so i'm curious about how my fic reads to an outsider's perspective!!
finally, blackpaw will eventually confront tigerclaw. it's funny, that's actually the first scene i wrote for this AU! i have to revise it a little now to match the plot lines and characterizations i have now, but yeah, i hope the confrontation will be satisfying to blackpaw (and to the readers!)

I moved to my grandparents town last year and I decided to help out in this quite big garden belonging to my grandpa (it's better than going to the gym, mind you). I started with basics (watering, cleaning, planting seeds, caring for the nursery), we mainly grow vegetables for us to eat, but I would like to put of lots of other plants & flowers in there. I would lie if I told you "As Green as the Ragged Grass" did not GREATLY inspire me! I also make sure to properly oil all my tools.
Ooooo, that garden space sounds amazing! And yeah gardening is incredible honestly for exercise, especially because there's often such a variety of movement needed. Want to work on your quads, calves, hammies and squat ability? Weeding! Want to work on your arms? Handsawing! Want to work out your stomach - sit out there and eat a pizza!
It sounds like it's going to be awesome! You might want to look into permaculture re: pollinators that help keep certain pests away. They don't truly keep the pests away, but some of those flowering plants can be really helpful. And rosemary and lavender attract ever so many bees. :D
And yes, tool maintenance is good, probably best to just look up on Youtube what the best is for every individual tool. I'm actually pretty lazy and just make sure I clean them so they're not at least rusting from plant juices (the fastest way to lose a good pair of secateurs).
I'm so happy though, make sure you take care of your body as well as that garden, and I hope you get to enjoy the dividends! It sounds like you've been working hard, and that there's a lot to do as well, but it can be so great. (Augus would be so happy to know he's inspired someone to garden as well <3333)

god i wish i wouldn't have to explain the intricacies of the neopets economy to you guys to give the full context for this but. the new neopets team that took over from jumpstart pledged that they were going to curb the inflation of rare items, which is great because a lot of rare items are worth literally hundreds of millions of neopoints, they are unbuyable unless you've been playing actively for 20 years. they did this earlier with a site festival that included random loot boxes, some of which had Unbelievably Fucking Rare And Precious items worth 200 million neopoints apiece.
well.
today they have gone a step further. by releasing this year's trick-or-treat bags. and having the trick-or-treat bags be stuffed to the brim with unbelievably fucking rare stamps, weapons, paint brushes, defense magic, and other unbuyables. (all prohibitively expensive and in-high-demand types of items.)
jellyneo, the premier neopets website, has recorded prices of some items plummeting from 2,000,000 neopoints to 4,000 neopoints IN THE LAST THREE HOURS. this is when most people haven't even heard about the event or OPENED THEIR BAGS YET.
and of course. cherry on top. 20-year-old account holders are crytyping on the site events neoboard about how mean and cruel it is to make rare stamps part of the prize pool, because their entire identity hinges on being part of the neopian bourgeoisie, and they are having MELTDOWNS over their assets being devalued until they're part of the lowly proletariat.
this is a children's game for children btw.
none of the money is real.
i'm having such a good time.

Sometimes you just have one of those moments where the progress we've made as a culture get thrown into stark relief. You look at something and go "Holy shit, that would never have happened when I was a kid."
Today, I had one of those moments when I realized that the teenage boys I'm working with are just. genuinely, openly enthusiastic about going to Build-a-Bear for their outing.
These are sixteen and seventeen year old boys! They just had a whole conversation about what to name their "cute", mostly new squishmallows! They're genuinely excited that they're going to Build-a-Bear this weekend and asking other kids to pick up specific accessories for them!!
Holy shit, that never would've happened when I was 16. None of the boys would have dared to be visibly interested - and neither would most of the girls! There would have been a million gay jokes and "Haha, you're a girl" jokes and "What are you, a baby?" jokes. Teenagers weren't even supposed to care about anything back then!
Less than 15 years later, and I'm watching three 17 year old boys treat all that as not even worthy of comment.
So let's call that a reason for hope. Even when the kids aren't alright, in some ways apparently they are alright. Go Gen Z, honestly. It's so lovely to watch you guys just openly doing and saying stuff that, when I was a teen, would've been a social death sentence.

listen there really was just something about how in the book, snow’s 3-page descent from hesitant lover boy to deluded psychopath happens entirely in his mind. lucy gray gives him no indication whatsoever that she suspects him, that she’s going to leave or betray him. he’s just sitting quietly in the cabin waiting for her to return when that seed of calculated suspicion, which he has needed to survive the capitol, takes a hold of him and chokes the life out of any goodness left inside him. it really drives home your terror as a reader that “oh my god did he kill her? did she escape? what happened to her? why would he even think that?” in a way that when the movie had to adjust for visualization it lost some of that holy shit this guy has lost it emphasis.

"But if college was free, then people would abuse that and get useless degrees" hell yeah I would! If I could go to college without debt I would make it my job to get a degree in every little thing that interested me. I'd get a doctorate in film studies. I'd have a bachelor's degree for every science I like. I'd try to learn at least 5 languages with varying results. I would learn something "useful" like coding and then follow it up with a ""useless"" degree like art history. I'd be the world record speed run holder for getting every degree possible.
But I can't afford college without going into massive debt, so instead I spent the last 5 years trying to figure out what I am passionate enough about to consider going into debt over, because unfortunately being passionate about everything is extremely expensive to pursue.
