I saw umineko stage ep3 today!! it was amazing. the quality level is insane. I got goosebumps several times and it even managed to make me tear up... everyone's performances felt like they all know their characters so well now 🥺🙏 the lights, costumes and choreography were all perfect too

some thoughts (major umineko spoilers obviously):

young eva/evatrice's performance in particular was just. literally perfect? the way she delivered her lines, carried herself, her laugh resounding onstage and the little things she did when she wasn't the center of attention were all 100% in character. she was adorable during the ceremony where she becomes the new beatrice, introducing herself to the goats and giggling w the 7 sisters, and she was absolutely terrifying in rosa's and maria's death scene. also mad props to the costume designer(s) who did her sailor outfit that turns into the witch outfit almost instantly

everything beato's actress did had me go :] there's a lot of cute beato scenes in ep3 and she was adorable in the goofy, endearing way og beato is in the story while still being cool and fun when needed in the other scenes

and last but not least eva's actress did an amazing job too, especially during the emotional scenes of her character (when she solves the riddle, finds the gold, hideyoshi's & george's deaths). her lungs' strength is impressive lol. it's been 4 hours and I still clearly remember her screams

overall I loved the way so many of the actors and actresses would just do little things when they were on stage but not in the spotlight/not talking, like the chiesters whispering in each others bunny ears instead of their human ears/covering their bunny ears because of loud noises, or the 7 sisters just jumping around and messing w each other, maria taking her notebook out of her bag and reading it, etc. they weren't just standing doing nothing and it always felt very in character, too. there was always something new no matter which part of the stage you're looking at

rudolf's actor looked and acted like he came straight out of a yakuza movie? ik he was already like that in the previous episodes but for some reason I felt it even more this time. might be because of the fight against the sisters before he and kyrie die (which was probably my favorite action scene btw. really cool choreography). I'm not complaining though. made me like the character even more

speaking of rudolf. at some point during one of the scenes where the adults discuss beato's first letter, he just... started massaging hideyoshi's shoulders? he did that for at least a full minute before hideyoshi's actor nodded as thanks and he stopped. I have no idea if this was part of the script or if the guys just decided it on their own??

when gohda does his night check of the mansion right before his death he was actually walking in the aisles with his lantern before he got up on stage!! he got to tell a joke and do some fun stuff before being killed and never being relevant again. rip

beato asking battler to give her a new name now that evatrice inherited hers, ronove on the side of the stage writing a stupid nickname on some paper to show her only for her to get annoyed, rip the paper from his hands and stomp on it

I don't know if this was done on purpose or not, but when eva fires the shot that blinds jessica and jessica accuses her of being the culprit, pointing at some random direction since she can't see anymore, she actually pointed at shannon's corpse on the sofa behind her. it could very well just be a coincidence. but. yea

krauss drinking straight from the fucking bottle during the golden land party scene at the end and getting completely smashed

ange!! she was so cool and cute. she punched the goats. I can't wait to see her in ep4 😭

the curtain call was super cute. everyone got together to pose for the cameras before they realised beato wasn't here so they had kinzo cry for her in the infamous kinzo way and she graced them (and us) with her presence :)

I LOVE THIS I'm actually going to do this with the X-Men and the Brotherhood because there's so many possibilities.

TODD (I'm just putting him first because he's my fav):

• You and Todd hang out a lot. For some reason, he just feels calmer around you (little does he know, you actually take away the stressful parts of his mutation, like the sensitive skin and everything)

• I feel like he still eats flies because he's used to it, so he doesn't notice that you took away the frog part of his brain that actually needs them for nourishment

• She obviously goes into protective mother mode during the chaos, making sure no one else is panicking while they try to figure out what's happening

• But she's honestly really relieved the entire time.

• Unfortunately, she finds out right when she's running into a wall (because I think that's funny comedic timing)

• I think she'd be a little relieved too, since we learned her worst fear is her powers trapping her underground and things like that

• So sometimes I think using her powers makes her really nervous, thinking she'd accidentally get trapped and suffocate or something.

• So, whenever she needs a break from that anxiety, she knows exactly who to turn to

See, Albedo is probably one of the more confident people here. And like real confidence. Not prideful, and not faux confidence. Real pure confidence.

So someone flirting with Diluc would be totally unphased. But he might start taking not to see what Diluc is respective to. Because he knows Diluc would not be respected at all and does his best to shut it down. But if there is a slight reaction, Albedo would like to know and then try the line himself because if it managed to break through Diluc's defense with a strange what would happen if he said?

And Albedo loves nothing more than Diluc's reactions.

Ayato

Ayato is a little more jealous. He does try not to because he trusts Diluc. But he's just a little more possessive. So while his initial reaction is to be annoyed, he sort of likes seeing Diluc get a little aggressive and put people down. He'd probably watch a moment, and then if the person would not give up, he would probably step in and just kiss Diluc in front of everyone. Much to Diluc's great embarrassment, but Diluc's not gonna protest that much. He's just gonna need a moment that Ayato will happily accompany.

Childe

So Childe is impuslive. He kind of just does a lot of stuff without thinking. But he's also a little clueless about certain things. So it would take him a minute to realize that someone is flirting with Diluc. It probably would end up with them getting touchy with Diluc.

And well depending on the touch, there might be a lost hand. But that would totally be passed on Diluc's comfort and reaction enough. Because you can't tell me Childe isn't a King of respecting boundaries. Like He just pulls out a knife and diluc just gives him a look that says "No don't kill him, but you can kick him out" and Childe is just a happy puppy he picks up this person and literally drops the kids them out.

Eula

So Eula is a little more insecure. And has this thing about not wanting to taint Diluc's image with her name. So she would just sit quietly. And just a little sad. But Diluc would quickly notice and probably ignore whoever was flirting with him and go sit and have a good time with Eula.

Itto

Now if Childe is a dumb golden retriever boyfriend Itto is 10x worst. He would totally not realize the person is flirting with Diluc and would actively join in thinking they are just talking bout how great Diluc is. And he would get so super into it and just energetic that I think the person flirting would just give up. Because they just can not match Itto's energy and just pure love.

Kaveh

So we all know Kaveh has a lot of pride. And I think that would extend to his pride in being a good boyfriend. So he combined with his total faith in Diluc as the "sweet person," He would really only feel the end to outdo the person in flirting.

And While I think he's a little awkward and dramatic at times, it's all charming because he's simply so passionate and care so much. Diluc probably liked that best about Kaveh, just how much he can care and keep caring despite how hurt he might get.

Thoma

So there isn't a lot to say here because Thoma's just a sweet guy, and he and Diluc would just both kind of ignore the person flirting until they got the message.

It might be a little different afterward, with Thoma feeling like he needs to give Diluc more attention and affection because clearly, people haven't noticed that Diluc's in a relationship with him.

Xiao

Xiao is the kind of person who tolerates other people for Diluc. But he would not tolerate someone flirting or touching Diluc. So the moment it starts the person flirting with Diluc would just feel a murderous aura. And see the Adeptus just glaring at them from probably like a rafter or something and then they leave, letting Xiao take their seat. While Diluc just chuckles to himself.

Zhongli

Now Zhongli has age and confidence on his side. But he'd take an interest in new flirting techniques and, like Albedo would watch a moment before going up to the person flirting with Diluc and asking them questions. Definitely does a "back in my day" line and tries an old pick up line on Diluc. Which to be fair, it is only effective because Zhongli is using it.

Honestly I don't think 'worldwide mastermind' is a plot concept without merit but it's so boring in this series because they simply do not seem interested in giving him real depth while placing him on the side of the oppressed-but-not-really humans, reinforcing how much the humans are in the wrong, so absolutely nobody benefits from this writing decision

This season took so long to come out because they were reading the arguments from us 5 people who call them out on writing a weirdly pro-imperialism series and then had to stick in a bunch of strawman scenes to be like "Oh you think this but really it's unfair" and then realized they couldn't think of actual counterarguments and eventually had to admit defeat and just have characters they like go "NUH-UH!!" in response

Fans of the show want to say it's 'nuanced' and 'showing both sides' but that doesn't hold water because A) every person that expresses any kind of doubts or cynicism about the status quo is a villain in this series and B) Unless they plan on Uno reversing their whole lore (wouldn't put it past them) these things DID HAPPEN and if Xadians were meant to be meeting humans halfway, there would seriously be a real discussion about allowing humans a place in Xadia and other shit that simply never comes up

Will Zubeia apologize? No! She just compliments the good humans for dancing to her tune. It's simply so one-sided.

Everyone was scared by the scene, but who felt more scared than everyone else was O7, who watched the scene on the screens.

The robot was already on alert when she saw Antony grabbing you, but now that she saw you falling to the ground with a pool of blood emerging from you, fear consumed her. You must not be bleeding like 3 gallons of blood, right? O7 is paranoid, she is going crazy! Right? This can't be happening, right?

For the first time, O7 didn't want to know what human evil was capable of.

BAM!!! Without everyone predicting, the door to the area everyone was in opens suddenly. Everyone looks at the figure in the doorway, to be met with a face of green lines.

Before the robot could push Julia out of her way, the human already backed away out of fear, and without hesitation, O7 grabbed the poor human's body with slit throat.

"Y/N!!!" O7 screamed "Y/N?..."

A wave of sadness remained in O7 when looking at your lifeless face, you didn't move, you didn't looked, and especially you didn't speak. O7 tried to lightly shake your body for some sign, but nothing moved but your hair lying in front of your face unresponsive

A moment of silence passed, one that even the humans chose to remain silent.

The great depression that made O7 feel empty turned into flames of hate. The robot gently let your body rest on the ground, and abruptly turned to Antony. She grabbed Antony's hair without any kind of care, resulting in a scream from the human.

Julia panicked, and even instinctively tried to help Antony, but Cyrus stopped her. And everyone was forced to watch Antony disappear into the palm of O7

This was the first time humans had witnessed O7 so quiet.

They ask what kind of torture O7 does to Antony, maybe ripping his chorus out and filling it with acid, as she mentioned one day. Maybe Spanish donkey, or even the rack, but none of that would be able to express enough of O7's hatred for her loss.

She didn't know how to react to this situation, this is the second time she's lost someone, O7 thought that she's used to it, that things really die, regardless of what it is, but those damn human feelings always come back to poke at her, if only she wasn't born human, everything would be so easier. It was all a mixture of a burning and dangerous hatred with some kind of seek for justice and at the same time the overwhelming desire to unload her sorrows in front of your corpse.

Are her drinks going to help? O7 doesn't know. But the only thing she knows is that she intends to keep Antony alive long enough to enjoy her creativity and hatred with torture.

This is a snippet from the next chapter of my ongoing delusional chaotic fic. It's a banter bit because the rest is quite spoiler-y, and I'm upping the rating. 👀

This is what my draft looks like before I embellish make literally any sense of it.

Hands it to Deadpool. "Is 2021 the year she left you?" "Ha! Fuck you. No, [redacted, spoiler]" Loki sta un po' così. "Look at that! I bet you think you've been a jackass." (Parla potabile.) "So she looked at you and said... more?" "Like Moby looked at you and said more? Did he say it though?" Loki hates this. Impulso di fargli un culo come un secchio. finished my AGoT reread!!!

- amazing how every single chapter advances plot while it reveals crucial pieces of world building and lets it all naturally come out of character development. this is an achievement. no chapter wasted

- tyrion is in fact the greatest character of all time

- i would read a book the length of this entire saga only with tywin and tyrion having conversations and thinking horrible thoughts about each other and every time they parallel each other in the text i felt like genuinely going insane

- remind me again why tyrion/catelyn and tyrion/bronn, two ships with the most beloved tropes and dynamics, are not stupidly popular (oh! wait!!! i remembered why.)

- anon of last year was right tyrion is kinda villainous from the start. it was very sexy of him when he planned to bring the vale of Arryn down out of spite and revenge. sorry I fought you over this

- that being said in this second reading everyone was a little more human and less plainly heroic and overall a little more morally gray than i remembered, particularly ned and catelyn. which is a very good thing

- sansa is at the same time MUCH more innocent and harmless than half of you make her out to be and MUCH more interesting and flawed and normal than the other half of you make her out to be. she's so romantic and selfish and privileged and dutiful and kind even though she gets a little mean when she's feeling frustrated and she's so angry and she's so so so clever and BRAVE. just so very human. she's GREAT

- i did NOT remember that the Dothraki depiction was so racist. 🧍🏻‍♂️ Help. Why george

- did not love so many details about dany's breasts and whatever is going on between her thighs. Again. Why george

- on dany: i spent the entire book like "this poor girl??? why do people think she's the villain she did absolutely nothing wrong not even in thoughts and feelings??" and by the end she was pyromaniac and it was a great nuance to the rest of her chapters. like she IS the true witch of this series. and like the other witch-like character (Mel) she is also just repressing childhood trauma. we love traumatic messianism in this house!! props to Dany on the witchcraft and blood magic and the like.

Reading about people calling Johnny abusive (not just that one post, I've come across a lot of that in forums and Discord servers too) and I'm like 🧍🏻 where?

The only person who we have solid hard proof he actually manipulated is Henry (ie he slept with him to keep him interested in the band, and even that isn't specified enough to give a solid judgement- for all we know about Henry the guy could have tagged along willingly, dude was not exactly healthy to begin with).

And like yes Johnny's manipulative, but tbh... We mostly get told he is? I'm still miffed about that, because he's not the only one from 2023 who's manipulative, but since he's the only one who's called so by the authors, he seems to be the only one we hold accountable on that. That bothers me.

But people keep saying he abused Rogue and Alt??? And I'm sorry, like, where??? Yes he was an asshole, yes he cheated on Rogue, but he didn't have power over these two women?? Hell Rogue used him just as much as he used her in the end. She sold him off to Blackhand's plot for her own gain and she sold out for good afterward, I'm really tired of people sugarcoating Rogue and Alt just because they're women and conventionally attractive, they're not your helpless damsels in distress, those women were made of grit and blood and tears just like the rest of the OG Cyberpunk Red cast.

And Alteria motherfucking Cunningham was NOT a victim lmao, if anything out of the two of them she had the upperhand lmao, didn't you catch how she was his dealer (even if that's a one-time thing, which we can't know if it is) ? Or how she insults him every sentence? Like I love that woman but she was literally just him, but genderswapped, and not tech-illiterate, unlike Johnny, who death-unplugged her.

They were toxic to each other but there was no villain out of the two, same with Rogue??? And I repeat, I insist, Johnny didn't have the control over those two women that warrants being called abusive, given we have squat all in terms of actual canon proof of what he did to them?

If anything the other person he could have been abusive to would be Kerry, but even then it's a stretch/headcanons. Like, I got no problem with that, even got my own in fact, but to just come in and state he's canonically abusive?

We do see him trashtalking Kerry if we make him choose that, but even then there's still not enough of a pattern. Abuse isn't just a dude being an asshole to everyone, or being a bad person, because yeah I won't say Johnny's someone good to the people around him- it's a relationship that relies on active dependency from person A to person B, and person B holds power over what person A needs, be it emotionally, psychologically, or materially. Person B needs to have power over person A though, and not by accident or punctually.

And btw I agree that he assaults V, and that he fucking needs to back off, but that's him wanting to kill himself more than anything, really. Cus he knows damn well that if they do take him up on his "advice" he's gone too. By 2077 the man just wants to stop, there's not a single route where he's happy about the perspective of a second chance at life.

And yeah, Johnny can be called abusive of V by proxy, in his quest to get himself flatlined for good, but that's the only person we actually do see him mistreat on the regular, in a power dynamic where he has the upper hand.

But the way he acts with other people, that's not being abusive, abuse isn't a fucking buzzword to throw around to qualify someone who's a shit person, I know I'm getting worked up over semantics but like in this case I feel it's warranted. Johnny is too much of a loser to have abused people, in canon. He's a guy screaming in a mic desperate to be heard, but he never did anything to force people to stay. I know it's a bit repetitive coming from me, but I keep thinking the man was more of a victim of his own success than a mastermind of anything, much less the social kind.

I feel like the advertisement was misleading. And because of it, I was so disappointed in the actual thing. After two years of built up, and just. This. I wish he hadn't announced it so early or hyped it up so much because my expectations wouldn't have been as high if this was a vague project he announced like a couple of months ago. He said his idea had never been done before, and it just... has. Like. God. I don't hate gen loss. Was hard getting through the first episode, but I managed to. I was bored. The second one was better, but I was still bored. The finale was the best episode but even then I wouldn't call it amazing or revolutionary, just decent. I liked the ending

I just wish the first two episodes weren't so long because they were just a pain to get through and I feel like some of the bits just went on for way too long. The 3rd episode really benefited from a shorter runtime and a more tightly packed plot

Idk. I honestly wish Ranboo put as much effort into acting throughout the whole thing and not just the final scene. I can get the "he's a video game mc so he has to act bland" excuse but that should've stopped the second he got out of the mind control. Because even after that, it still feels so flat? The final scene shows he can act, I just wish he had acted like that through the whole thing

At a certain point it just felt like everyone put more effort into this than he did. The cinematography carried so hard. A good chunk of the ccs out did him. The music was great. The background actors were cool. The fandom is carrying this thing. It's just hard to enjoy something when the main character is going "what is that😐" "yeah🧍" "🧍😐Oh my god" every two seconds. Like im sorry but the ending scene is the only scene I felt a crumb of attachment to gl ranboo because he actually fucking acted well. I don't know. I think I'm just disappointed in it honestly. I can't wait for the fanart at least

oh yeah the ads definitely implied a very different vibe from what we got. honestly im glad i didn't go in with a lot of expectations because i think having learned more about gen loss beforehand would've totally ruined it for me.

i 100% agree the first two episodes dragged a lot, especially the second for me (charlie, imo, carried a lot of the first stream and made it more palatable). like the second stream they were just.. playing mouse trap? for a sizeable amount of time? and then they were playing dress up? for a sizeable amount of time? it very much felt like it dragged and i honestly zoned out during a good bit of the middle part. both could've totally benefited from being shorter for sure.

honestly i didn't even realize i didn't like his acting a ton until he was up there pleading for us to kill him and i got chills because like.. it was well done.
