listen i don't think edward little was actually a bad first lieutenant. when we see him in the first episode he's calm and confident. he does not say much but he's amiable enough. crozier likes him, and i don't think crozier would like anyone he doesn't think capable in some way. generally he's dependable and knows what he's doing. however unfortunately for edward he has these qualities because he has a major case of eldest daughter syndrome, which means he both wants to please his mum (crozier) and has an overdeveloped sense of responsibility for his younger siblings (crew), so when they get stuck in the ice and crozier starts going (more) alcoholic, he enables his mum bc he doesn't want to disappoint her even if he doesn't agree with her, and he has to pick up the tasks and care for his siblings she's not doing, but he can't let his siblings know about their mum's situation because they'll get worried and restless. and like a true eldest daughter he has to bear the brunt of mummy's anger for being a disappointment but he also doesn't want to seek refuge with the man she divorced (fitzjames) because that feels like a betrayal. also while this is going on there is a giant bear who hunts his siblings for sport so they're dying left and right and also a changeling master manipulator who's making his siblings mad at their mum and who wants to fuck said mum before eating her like some sort of praying mantis. anyway i think i would start being miserable and anxious too.

the thing about Dick and Tim in relation to Bruce that I am constantly spinning around and around in my head is like
if they’re talking about Bruce, Dick will be the first one to be like ‘bruce is an asshole he’s being terrible fuck him you don’t need him’ while Tim will be like ‘no you gotta give him a chance he’s just struggling and it’s our job to be there for him’
but if something actually Happens, then Tim will be the one like ‘we have to sincerely consider the possibility that bruce may be a murderer while i hold him at arm’s length’ while Dick is already trying to die for Bruce without a second’s hesitation and won’t lose loyalty in a million years

soap with a love language of acts of service, and is way more observant than anybody gives him credit for. who doesn't care about people knowing what he does for them, just loving seeing how he can make his loved ones lives easier.
soap buying ghost the tea he likes when he's running out, because he's noticed that he drinks them more when hes having a bad day, and he wants him to be happy.
soap giving ghost some of the shortbread biscuits his ma makes, because though they're soap's favourite, they're also ghost's favourite, and isn't it worth it to see him pretend like he isn't fazed, but knowing how much it means to him?
soap giving ghost a new knife when he loses his favourite one on a mission, leaving it quietly outside his room and only grinning when he sees ghost using it, next time.
alternatively, ghost who's love language is quality time, just bewildering soap for the first few months he starts doing it.
soap doodling away, and ghost just plops down next to him without a word, and only huffs when soap tries to interact with him.
ghost just lingering nearby when soap is talking with other people, not saying a word, just standing there, being a kind of terrifying presence.
ghost becoming like a shadow for soap, not needing conversation, just needing to exist near him. the idea that no words need to be said between them, they can just exist in one another's presence, being his favourite thing. getting to share soap's presence is a privilege ghost is scared to admit, but loves to indulge in.

dodie, arms unfolding / tim fedelre, high school musical: the musical: the series
[ID: 1. lyrics from ‘arms unfolding’ by dodie. they read: ‘hope i’m not tired of rebuilding / ‘cause this might take a little more’
2. maddox from high school musical: the musical: the series. she stands onstage at the camp prom. she’s talking to an audience, but mainly speaking to jet, who is just off camera. the subtitles say ‘it’s a song that used to be my favourite when i was little.’
3. maddox looks at jet, still mostly off screen, with a very faint smile. the subtitles say ‘it made me happy, and it made my little brother happy.’
4. maddox looks at jet with a soft, contemplative expression with her brow slightly creased. the subtitles say ‘and i think maybe we’re ready to be happy again.’
5. lyrics from the same song as 1. they read ‘i think i’d like to try look at you / and feel the way i did before.’ end ID]

simon ‘ghost’ riley is a light sleeper. he’s so well trained to be on high alert that even when he’s not on duty he wakes at the smallest sound.
sometimes you’ll get up in the middle of the night and he immediately sits up. “you alright?” he slurs.
you make a small sound of discomfort or wiggle a little too much and his head is turning on the pillow, his eyes on you. and he always asks if you’re okay. you’ve told him he’s being silly and sometimes you just have to get up to go to the bathroom, but you gave up on telling him that—he’s adamant on checking on you.
and anytime he wakes up, no matter where the disturbance comes from, he’s looking over to your side of the bed to make sure you’re okay first.
and if you ever do need him in the middle of the night, all you have to do is whisper his name. he opens his eyes almost immediately and instinctively tightens his arm around you. “everythin’ alright?”
and one time you couldn’t sleep. your face was buried in his chest as he clung to you, the soft rumble of his snores letting you know he was knocked out. you didn’t want to wake him, but you were crying. you barely even moved as you teared up into his chest. suddenly, his hands squeezed you tighter. “whats’a matter?” he coos softly.
you tilt your head up to him teary eyed. “i didn’t mean to wake you.”
he clicks his tongue. “tell me what’s wrong, baby.” his hand gently caressing your face, tucking loose strands of hair behind your ear.
and he’s so protective. if you roll over and out of his hands he’s quick to pull you back into his grip. he likes having his hands on you while he’s sleeping. it makes him feel more secure knowing you’re okay.
when you fall asleep together on the sofa, your body pressed to his, his arms are wrapped around your waist, clutching you closely against him. it doesn’t even matter if he’s too warm, he wants you touching him at all times whenever he’s asleep.
it’s gotten to the point where he can barely sleep when he’s not with you. without you safely in his arms, without being able to physically feel you under his fingertips, it continuously wakes him up. he’s lucky to get two hours in a row without waking.

Hello! I haven’t been in your ask box in awhile but I just read a fic that made me think of you… it’s called The Arc Towards the Sun by ViaLethe and it’s a Hektor/Andromache fanfic but it’s so beautifully written and now that I think about it I feel like there is something there between this couple and Brutalia. There are certain things about Andromache that reminds of Talia and the tragedy of Talia since Andromache is also a character who is tragic, but with Andromache she is supposed to represent the tragedy of what happens to women in war. And there there is Hektor and his role in Troy and Bruce’s role in Gotham…
i LOOOOOOVE brutalia/hektomache parallels omg i shall definitely be reading
