So, this strip isn't REALLY about burnout. I mean, I deal with that problem all the dang time and that fear did INSPIRE the ideas, but this is actually the beginning of what I'm hoping will be a pretty fun story arc.
The fact that I'm literally knocking on the panel border might be a clue as to where this is heading for some of my long-term fans. Hope you enjoy.

Hey...
I haven't posted my artwork on here since September 21st and I would like to apologize on that. I will post more stuff whenever I can. I've just been burnt out and unmotivated by a lot of things due to my work schedule. I will get to it as soon as I feel up to it. This year has been rather hard for me, but I hope to find inspiration soon. Thank you guys for being patient with me though. I just hope that the motivational drive comes back soon.

Is it selfish if I kill myself
I know it’s stupid of me to say
I live a good life my family has a stable income, I have a house I go to a good school
I’m smart
im in no way ugly
i know my worth as a person
but my life seems pointless and empty
I don’t feel valuable to people
i have “friends” but no one I can truly talk to
my parents give me everything but they are emotionally unavailable which makes me think they don’t care
I’ve been consistently feeling this way for at least 5 years
for five years I’ve been praying to fall asleep and not wake up in the morning
am I selfish for feeling this way
im constantly mentally drained and burnt out
im not depressed whatsoever
I don’t understand what’s going on with me

Anyone else just feel so tired and done half the time, like you can’t carry on anymore and start spewing the most random things and creating stuff that would put to Shakespeare to shame, read three books in a day and give an answer to a philosophy question that the teacher wouldn't expect from a college student let alone a secondary school kid and then the rest of the time you have one braincell and you sit down for exam results to find out you spelt your own name wrong and you don’t know what day it is most of the time and you can’t remember anyone's name or read a clock-
because I do.

Coaching can help with prioritization and time management, work-life balance, goal-setting, stress management, self-awareness. But perhaps one of the most significant areas that coaching can help with is perspective

Christmas Burnout
Don't burn yourself out trying to make Christmas "perfect" in the eyes of those watching you on social media.
Make Christmas "perfect" in your own way.
In 20 years, your kids won't remember who bought them a present, they will remember who was present. Soak up every moment with them, really take in the details of their faces and the sparkle in their eyes. Your children are now another year older and one day, the magic of Christmas spent with your tiny humans will be just a memory.
Your kids don't care how a present is wrapped. Your kids don't care if the meal you have cooked is fresh or frozen, as long as they're fed. Your kids don't care who has matching jammies or the ugliest Christmas sweater. All they care about is spending time with the people they love so dearly. Remember that and remember that they are the reason for the holiday joy, and the opinions of anyone else doesn't matter.
Don't burn yourself out trying to impress others. Put that energy into quality time and making memories. Because that is what they will remember.
