🚨 New-ish ??? Simblr Alert 🚨

Hey, y'all! I'm Weston, but you can call me Wes. I'm a very old trans guy from the East Coast that's been gaming forever. I got into The Sims franchise in 2006 and have fond memories of loading up TS2 on my bulky Windows XP desktop after school and getting thoroughly creeped out by the burglar music and being fully invested in the Olive Specter lore. While I've played the game for a long time and have followed other Simblrs/Youtubers/etc. I wasn't inspired to upload my own content until 2020. Since then, I've tried (and failed lol) to build a following, but I'm hoping the fifth third time's a charm! You'll find builds (mostly shells), CAS challenges/downloads, and savefile progress (I'll talk more about Deathmoure, soon!) posted here. I also have plans to share CC and maybe a legacy challenge creation, as I'm not the best at storytelling, but absolutely love doing the prep work for it. “I don’t really know why you’re interested in that string of cat burglaries sweetheart.” Tim remarked as he rocked his office chair side to side.

It was a vintage pick you’d found from a garage sale, a captain swivel chair, wooden with soft green leather. Like something that had rolled out of a 1920’s detective novel.

You spoke around a mouthful of cashew chicken, “Because I think there’s more going on.”

“That’s really not attractive.” He remarked as he pointed his fork at you, sneering at watching you talk while eat.

You swallowed the mouthful of food, “Good thing I don’t need to impress you anymore.” You added a wink for good measure when he rolled his eyes.

“Just a bunch of B and E’s, I saw the bulletins.”

“Golden State Killer was written off as a cat burglar before he escalated,” you countered.

“So what caught your attention then?”

“So I managed to get access to—”

“Do not tell me, I don’t need to be an accessory again. I’m still paying off the favours I cashed in to get you out of that last mess.”

You furrowed your brows in annoyance at the memory, “That was not my fault.”

He gave you a withering look as he poked at his chow mein with his fork before returning it to his desk. Despite the volume of his visits to Yan’s Garden, and that they knew his order before he could finish saying hello, the man had not mastered chopsticks despite his many attempts.

Wiping his mouth with a paper napkin he slouched back in his chair “Alright, let's say it's more than just a string of coincidences. What's your theory?”

You grinned as you placed your own carton of food down, and leant forward in your seat to rest your arms on the large oak desk. A relic from the previous owner of his office, some lawyer who’d managed to get the heavy desk up into the building but had no enthusiasm in trying to get it out when his practice suddenly closed up overnight.

“Okay, so all the victims had black ca–” Tim’s bark of laughter cut you off, “what?”

“This is your lead? This is what you may or may not,” he shot you a pointed look before you could open your mouth, “do not confirm that, bent the law for?”

“Hear me out,” you scowled, “and no, that is not my lead,” you finished, skirting his request for you not to make him an accomplice by association again with a smirk.

“Fine, carry on.”

“As I was saying, all the victims happen to have black cats. Did you know black cats are the lowest rate for adoption?”

He sighed, your jump to adoptions now had him humouring you now as he returned to his food, “I did not.”

“Yep, less than 10% adopted a year, and there’s also research that states black cats are admitted to animal shelters more than any other colour.”

You could see him biting his tongue now, sometimes patience was not his best virtue when it came to some of your leads. It wasn’t that he didn’t doubt your skills, not in the slightest, he respected you more than some of the tenured vets on the force. But you wouldn’t have such a highly rated podcast if it wasn’t without your ability to weave a story and keep your listeners hanging on.

No one wants a fast climax, so if you just jumped from point A to B it’d be over before it started with no satisfying finish. So that meant sometimes, some of your leads could stop at a few places between destinations.

“Which is interesting, since all the victims adopted their cats.”

Tim’s fork stopped at his mouth, he could see a pattern before all the dots could be revealed. His skills were lost on the force, too much bureaucratic tape to navigate, no one wanted to be outshone by his talents working with him, and Tim had no time for politics.

“Where did they adopt them from?” He asked, he already knew the answer by the glint in your eyes.

Your grin grew bigger, “Northeast Animal Shelter.”

“Okay, so what about the fact they’re just B and E’s, the cats are just a happy coincidence.”

He was coaxing you through the results of your investigation, as if he was pulling at an imaginary red string tying all of this together. Bringing you closer and closer to a climactic finish.

“My source,” he gave you a pointed look, “got me a list of all what the victims noted was missing from their home.”

“And?” He encouraged you, you didn’t need it but he loved to see the way you vibrated with the energy of piecing a case together.

“All reports stated that their laundry baskets were moved, possibly gone through and all with something small and personal was missing from their homes.” you said, your eyes glowing with the excitement of the chase. “Barely even worth mentioning for the report than anything.”

“Inconspicuous,” he mused, “not really cause for any concern.”

You got from your seat now, moving around his desk, he swiveled to face you with a sly smile playing on his lips. His trademark tie loose around his neck and the top button perpetually undone.

“Guess who has a prior conviction for sexual assault, voyeurism and found with a selection of trinkets from their victims homes in two different states?” you asked, as you placed your hands on the arms of his chair and leant forward.

Tim shifted in his seat, “Let me guess, our animal shelter owner?”

“Bin-go.” you responded with a pop, his eyes drawn to your lips.

“So you think this guy might be escalating? Starting with inconspicuous burglaries to test the waters, then moving on to something more dangerous?”

You nodded, “He’s a creature of habit, he’s following the same pattern as his previous convictions.”

“He’s got access to these people’s lives through the adoption process.” Tim added, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

“Exactly. The shelter would have the victims' addresses, contact information, schedules for when they can pick up the pets, all of it. This guy doesn’t go looking for his victims, they come to him,” you concluded.

“You need to be careful with this.” he said, both his voice and face softening as he caught your eye.

He didn’t need a response, he knew you would be - but he needed to say it.

You closed the gap between the two of you, your lips pressed softly against his in a tender wisp of a kiss, “I always am Detective.”

Gryps Hilago Ruleset

Osiyo! Welcome to Gryps Hilago. This BACC isn't necessarily starting from scratch, per see. Moreso, the families have lived on the land for quite some time (and have stubbornly refused to leave). The 'founder' is just the one sim with initiative to transform the ghost town into something nicer.

This is an Esotheria stan account, so I'm pretty much abiding by those rules (with some alterations).

RESTRICTIONS

- No electronics. So things like TVs, stereos, computers, electr-... you get the idea. Period appropriate 'hidden' appliances are a-okay, however (within reason, of course). Things that feel too cheaty will probably get ignored (so hidden TVs are a no-go).

- No running water. Sims can take baths, shower, the whole lot... but they won't have the luxury of plumbing. With mods like Fetch Water and Water Require for Bathing, this is pretty easy to manage.

- No cars... except horses. Horses are a-okay. New families'll need to raise and train the horse (with the help of Barnyard Bash). However, it makes sense for my founders to already have horses, right?

- No delivery services

- No services

- No fertilising. Dude... I'm totally not gonna stick to this.

- No community lots (at the start). I do have some parks, mining outposts, etc. but they're more for lore than actual use. So they're more like places to grab water and materials for crafting. They don't earn me CAS points... but they're so pretty :)

- No businesses that sell stuff you can't craft/catch/grow (remember, no deliveries!).

- No hobby lots.

- No townies

FOUNDER

Only the politics career is available and it's only available for the founder. Our founder is the de-facto mayor, and every promotion means better stuff for the town

- (Lvl 3) Lobbyist: Befriend a sim who has the Mechanical skill maxed out to gain access to electricity & running water. I think, lore-wise, they should have some sort of power generated. Like a power plant. I'll expand on this a bit more later.

- (Lvl 4) Campaign Manager: Befriend a sim who is the owner of a business to unlock community lots & townies.

- (Lvl 6) State Assembly Person: Politics is now unlocked to everyone (but only one sim can be Mayor at any given time)

- (Lvl 8) Judge: Befriend a sim who is highest in the Law Enforcement career to unlock the Law career. - (Lvl 10) Mayor: Downtown unlocked.

UNLOCKING the CAREERS

- ATHLETIC: Add connection to Downtown and build a stadium with town funds ($50,000) - MILITARY: Add connection to Downtown and build a Military Base with town funds ($50,000). Only one Sim can be General at any given time. - BUSINESS: Once one of your Sims’s businesses reaches top rank, they can enter the career. When they reach the top of the career, it is unlocked for everyone. - SCIENCE: The career is open to any Sim with maxed out logic skill and a golden talent badge in Robotics. Once they reach the top of the career, they build a research facility with town funds ($50,000) and the career is unlocked for everyone with a University degree in Physics. - CRIMINAL: When the population reaches 100, a place in the Criminal career opens up. Once the top of the career is reached, it is unlocked for everyone, but only one Sim can be Evil Mastermind at any given time. - SLACKER: Once the population reaches a multiple of 500, a position in the career opens up. The career is unlocked to everyone when a connection to Downtown is added. - CULINARY: the Sim entering the career has to open a restaurant business. It does not have to reach a particular rank, but needs to be played at least one day a week. Once they reach the top of the career they can start hiring personnel, and the career is unlocked for everyone. - LAW ENFORCEMENT: A position opens when the town has had its first burglary. Once the Sim has reached the top of the career, they build a Police Station with town funds ($30,000), and start recruiting more law enforcers, unlocking the career for everyone. Burglar alarms are unlocked. Only one Sim can be Captain Hero at any given time. - MEDICINE: When one of your Sims has fallen ill, and has passed on their disease to at least 2 other sims, a position opens to one Sim who has studied Physiology. Once they reach the top of the career, they build a Hospital with town funds ($70,000), unlocking the career for everyone with a University diploma in Biology.

EP CAREERS: - EDUCATION: A position opens up once the first child in your town reaches childhood. Once the town’s teacher reaches the top of the career, they build a school with town funds ($20,000), and the career is unlocked for everyone with any University degree. - ARCHITECTURE: Unlocked when a connection to Downtown has been established. - SHOW BUSINESS: Unlocked when a connection to Downtown has been established - ADVENTURE: Unlocked when the founder builds a museum community lot ($30,000). Once the top of the career is reached, it’s unlocked for everyone. - GAMER: career unlocked to every sim who owns a computer, tv, console and arcade game, after Electricity has been added. - INTELLIGENCE: Unlocked once the top of the Law Enforcement and Military career have been reached, but is only open to Sims who graduated college with a GPA of 4.0 - OCEANOGRAPHY: open to any Sim with a golden fishing talent badge. Once the first Sim reaches the top of the career, it is unlocked for everyone with a University degree in Biology. - DANCE, ENTERTAINMENT: Unlocked when the founder builds a cultural center ($50,000) - JOURNALISM: Unlocked when a connection to Downtown has been established. A position opens up everytime there have been 5 burglaries where items have actually been stolen (burglaries interrupted by the burglary alarm do not count), 5 Sim-Instigated fires where an object actually burned down (fires put out by the fire department do not count), or a Sim reaches the top of any career. - LAW: A position opens up every time a Sim gets furious at someone. To enter the career this way, a Sim needs to have studied Couples Counselling. The career is unlocked for everyone with a University degree in Political Science once the Founder has fulfilled his requirements as a Judge. - MUSIC: Unlocked to everyone when at least 3 instruments have been placed on a community lot. - ARTIST: Unlocked when a connection to Downtown has been established. The career is open to any sim who has sold at least 5 masterpieces. - PARANORMAL: A position opens when the town builds a cemetery and 5 graves have been sent to it. Additional positions open whenever a Sim is turned into a creature (vampire, werewolf, witch, zombie) or an alien is born. - NATURAL SCIENCE: The career is open for any Sim with a golden gardening talent badge and a University degree in Biology.

EARNING HOOD ADDITIONS

Community Lots: When the founder is promoted to Lvl 4. Either a playable sims buys a lot, or the town funds are used for the new business. Not only that, but you earn 1 CAS Sim (how cool). You can make these sims whenever, there's truly no rush.

Downtown: Once at Lvl 10, the founder unlocks access to the Downtown region via railway (it's the Old West... it's definitely the railway). Hobby lots are also accessible. Of course, it comes at a cost ($500,000) but look on the bright side! We get 5 CAS sims.

University: Unlocked when your town’s teacher reaches the top of the Education career. They have gathered enough renown and connections to set up their own campus of Sim State University. The Mayor will be required to fund the start of the construction, costing the town $500,000 The establishing of a new campus naturally draws new students to the area. You earn 5 CAS Sims.

Shopping District: Unlocked when your town has 5 player owned businesses of any rank, and the Business Career is unlocked. The Mayor will be required to fund the acquisition and conversion of the new stretch of land, costing the town $1,000,000 More businesses means more job openings, and your town attracts Sims looking for work. You earn 10 CAS sims.

TAXES

I've never played with taxes, so I'm playing with them from the start. Taxes will all go to Sheriff Qaletaqa Brokejaw. I imagine she's an incredibly trusted member of Gryps Hilago, and she's storing it for community use sometime in the future. She'll hold onto the taxes until our founder becomes The Mayor (I imagine this is when she finally begins to trust Ayizan... she's a hard lady to impress).

Taxes are paid on the first day with Money Order, and are stored away using Rainy Day Savings. Donations are also accepted, and will be added to the tax pool.

Households are divided into tiers based on their total funds (check from neighborhood screen): Upper Class (net worth $150,000+) Middle Class (net worth $70,000-$150,000) Lower Class (net worth $30,000-$70,000) Poverty (net worth below $30,000)

Each tier earnsEach tier earns the city tax per week based on the number of sims in that household: Upper Class: $1,000/Sim Middle Class: $500/Sim Lower Class: $250/Sim Poverty: $100/Sim

SIM MULTIPLIER

The SM is just a number that you will multiply your number of playable Sims by in order to get the city’s population. The goal of this challenge is create a city with a population of at least 50,000.

At the start of the challenge, the SM is 1. As you progress and unlock certain additions for your neighborhood you’ll increase your SM. Points for your SM are added as follows: +1 for your first community lot +1 when you reach a total of 5 community lots +1 for every additional 5 community lots +5 for adding a Downtown +5 for each Business District +5 for each University -From now on when population is mentioned, it simply means your total number of playable Sims multiplied by your SM.

EXTRAS

Electricity and Running Water: PersimmonSimmer has a really cool rule for getting running water/electricity. A power plant must be built for sims to be able to use electricity. This plant will cost $75,000 and can be purely decorative. Same for a Water Treatment Plant ($75,000) that unlocks running water.

Phones: For phones, both mobile and landline, there should be some sort of structure for them, right? So phone towers are $75,000 as well... No I don't hate my self :).

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — With Christmas just around the corner, Mayor London Breed of San Francisco encouraged residents to get their shoplifting done early this year.

"Hard to believe the looting season is already upon us!" said Mayor Breed. "We are encouraging all residents to begin shoplifting for Christmas before everything, including the stores themselves, are shuttered and gone!"

Though typically last-minute shoplifters, local couple Jared and Stacey Adams said they would be committing grand larceny much earlier this year. "I waited until Christmas Eve last year and every store in the city had been cleared out and turned into safe injection sites for hobos," said Mr. Adams. "This year, I'm going out with my crowbar the moment Thanksgiving dinner is over. Gosh, it seems like the season for knocking over Apple Stores gets earlier every year, doesn't it?"

With many of San Francisco's hobos temporarily stuffed in closets due to hosting President Xi, the Mayor advised citizens to start burglarizing local businesses right away. "This is a rare opportunity for San Franciscans to perform coordinated smash-and-grabs on nice, clean streets," said Mayor Breed. "We hope everyone will take advantage of this rare chance for a less-crowded looting experience."

At publishing time, Mayor Breed was seen following her own advice as she carefully picked out $949 worth of Macy's merchandise for friends and family.

Introduction:

Hi everyone! I decided to take it upon myself to make a sims 3 BACC that I felt satisfied with the rules and restrictions and done similar to BACCs that I've seen done for the sims 2 and 4. This is a living tumblr post and will continuously be updated as I play the challenge myself and see what fits for each restriction I have set. I am very much open to any feedback/opinions on anything regarding this challenge since I want it to be enjoyable to the simblr community and for those who have played the sims 2 BACC and were missing it for the sims 3. This challenge has mods in mind but if anyone would like, I am open to adjusting rules for a non-modded gameplay if needed.

Rules:

1. This challenge is meant to be played rotationally and every sim must be played. That also means that the households must be played the same amount of days to keep aging consistent across each household. Aging is also up to you. 2. Mods are recommended especially for having an easier way to do businesses, Ani’s Merchant mod is a great place to start. If desired I can provide alternate rules & restrictions for no mods gameplay. 3. Services may not be used until you’ve unlocked them, a smoke alarm isn’t allowed until you’ve unlocked the first position for the Firefighter career and the burglar alarm isn’t allowed until a branch has been unlocked in the Law Enforcement career. 4. Sims can own rabbit-hole lots and that can count towards a business, provided the sim has money for it. Though they can’t own a rabbit-hole and a sim-owned business at the same time, it has to be one or the other. 5. Skill-building items aren’t allowed to start off with until your sims earn the simoleons for it. 6. Sims aren’t allowed cars until there’s a car business in the town. Taxis aren’t allowed either until there’s a City Hall established. 7. Electricity isn’t unlocked until a sim has maxed the handiness skill. From there, one computer is allowed per household until an electronics business has been established. 8. When a computer has been unlocked, there are limitations to the build/buy category until the Architect career or a Furniture store has been established or that specific object has a business/rabbit-hole for it, like pet items needing a pet store or no bookshelf until there’s a bookstore, etc. Each household is only allowed to buy 2 items per rotation. However, it’s up to you how realistic and difficult you want your gameplay to be. 9. Boarding schools aren’t allowed until level 5 of the Education career has been unlocked. 10. Sims are allowed to sell items from their inventory. Rocks, gems, and metals can’t be sold in their inventory until the first two positions of the science career have been unlocked. 11. Custom careers are allowed, it's up to you how you want those restrictions set.

Starting Out:

You must start in an empty world or bulldoze the lots in a world. You’re only allowed residential homes for your sim and a small park as a free starting Community lot. You are free to start with a singular sim or roll a die and start with however many sims you roll and divide them into households or one singular household. There are different ways to start out your sim/sims:

Start your sims with an empty lot and no simoleons

Start them with 10,000 simoleons to build small homes for them or you may start them with already built houses with the bare necessities and no skill building objects:

A fridge, counters, and a stove

Enough beds for all the sims

A couch and small table

A toilet, sink, and shower/tub

After a home has been established, set the household simoleons down to 100 to get started.

Unlocking Restrictions:

Each unlock, only gets 1 position open in a career. To keep advancing in a career and unlock all the positions, multiple sims need to max out the specific skill required for a career. Though there are different requirements for each career.

A few of the careers have different requirements for their branches, you may use the previous sims that had unlocked the earlier positions of the careers to unlock the next positions in the branches or use new sims to unlock the different branch positions depending on the requirement. This is the only exception to the previous rule.

Self-employed careers have different restrictions, those careers are unlocked fully when the requirements have been met. Active careers have the same requirements as Full-time careers.

Part-time careers get fully unlocked when the required building is achieved.

Full-time Careers

Business: Unlock the Political career and the first position of the Journalism career to unlock the first position of the Business career. Afterward, every time a sim-owned business is placed in the town, a new position is unlocked Criminal: The first position is unlocked at the start, for every 2 Law Enforcement positions, a new position in the Criminal career opens and if a household gets robbed, two new positions in the Criminal career open. Once you get to the branches, you must unlock one branch fully before starting the other branch Culinary: Max the cooking skill and complete one of the Culinary skill challenges Education: Every 5th sim born, a new position is unlocked Film: Have 5 rich households and have at least one sim with a 5-star celebrity status. After the first position is unlocked, every sim with 3 stars unlocks the next position --Acting Branch: Reach level 3 celebrity status and max the charisma skill --Directing branch: Reach level 3 celebrity status and max the writing skill Fortune Teller: The first position opens up when there’s a witch in the town. Every new witch, opens up a new position(can be an offspring or a new sim) --Mystic Branch: Must be a witch and max the alchemy skill --Scam Artist Branch: Must be a witch and max the charisma skill Journalism: Max the writing skill and charisma skill Law Enforcement: The first 2 positions are unlocked at the start, every 10 sims a new position is unlocked. Once you get to the branches, you must unlock one branch fully before starting the other branch Medical: Have at least 16 sims in the town and max the logic skill. After the first position has been unlocked, sims must continue to max the logic skill to unlock the other positions Military: Max the athletic skill and handiness skill Music: A new position opens up when the first music store business is created and a sim maxes out any instrument After the first position is unlocked, sims need to max out any instrument to continue unlocking additional positions --Rock Star Branch: Max out the guitar and drums skill --Symphonic Branch: Max out the piano and charisma skill Political: Max the charisma skill to unlock all positions - only 1 sim is allowed in this career Professional Sports: Max the athletic skill Science: Max the gardening, handiness, and fishing skill

Acrobat: Have 3 sims in the town with the “Natural Born Performer” trait to unlock the first position, afterward sims must have the “Natural Born Performer” trait and max out the athletic skill to unlock the following positions Alchemist: Have 5 different occults in the town Angler: Have a sim complete the “Presenting the Perfect Aquarium” LTW Architectural Designer: Have sims max the handiness and painting skill Band: Unlock the first position of the Music career and have a sim complete the “One Sim Band” LTW Daycare: Every 2 positions of the Education career unlocked, unlocks a position of the Daycare career Firefighter: Every 3 fires unlocks 2 positions Gardener: Complete a Gardening skill challenge Ghost Hunter: Unlock the first position of the Science career. There must be at least one sim in the town with the eccentric trait and have at least 10 sims in the graveyard. After the previous requirements have been met, every time a sim maxes out the logic skill, a new position is unlocked Horseman/woman: Unlock the Pet Adoption service and have a sim adopt a foal and raise it to an adult to unlock this career Inventor: Max out the inventing skill and complete one of the skill challenges Investigator: Every 2 positions of the Journalism career unlocks a position of the Investigator career. Earning CAS Sims:

There are different ways that you can earn sims to grow your population. You are free to save the CAS points to use to make a big household or use them as you go:

First Community lot unlocked: +1 sim

Each time you reach a multiple of 3 Community lots: +3 sims

Each time a Community lot is unlocked: +1 sim

First Business opened: +2 sims

Each time you reach a multiple of 5 maxed out skills: +1 sim

Every multiple of 10 households: +3 sims

Have 10 sim-owned businesses: +4 sims

Open up the first position for all the Base Game careers: 8+ sims

Other ways to grow your households:

Having babies the traditional way

Moving in an NPC service sim once you have it unlocked

Moving in a sim from a World Adventures world once you have it unlocked

Using the imaginary friend and turning it real

University:

To unlock University for your town, completely unlock the Education career and have at least 25 sims earn an A and get on the honor roll for both their child and teenage state. Additionally, you must collect taxes to unlock University. University costs 1,000,000 simoleons to unlock. The careers that come with University will be unlocked once the University also gets unlocked.

Travel:

For sims to be able to travel, you must collect 500,000 in taxes to unlock travel, unlock 7 services, and have at least 15 households. After traveling has been unlocked, your sims are free to travel anywhere without any further restrictions.

Taxes:

Taxes aren’t established until you have a City Hall in your town and a sim is in the Political career. Taxes will help contribute costs to unlocking the University and Travel for your town. You are also free to use mods to help with taxes as well and set them to your liking. Sims must get taxed on the last day of their household being played in a rotation. Sims that have 100 simoleons or lower are exempt from paying taxes.

Taxing households:

10% for regular households(households that don’t have any sims owning a business or rabbit-hole)

12% if sims in a household own a sim-owned business/rabbit-hole

15% for rich households

Taxing benefits:

If a household has only unemployed sims, they are given 130 simoleons

Single sims with children are given 150 simoleons

Parents with only toddlers are given 150 simoleons

Additional Notes:

I didn't set Into the Future restrictions since I personally don't send my sims into the future, so it's up to the player on how they want to set restrictions on that.

There's no proper/formal goal for this challenge compared to other BACC challenges. The only main goal is unlocking everything and there's no population multiplier besides the sim CAS points.

This challenge isn't meant to be hard or super difficult besides it being a long challenge. Your game is your game and you're allowed to change things to your liking to make it easy and fun for you to play. Like previously stated I am open to changing things to make them more fun and feedback is always appreciated!
