Title: Displacement Genre: Sci Fi, historical fiction, YA Author: Kiku Hughes Displacement to me was a very slow-moving graphic novel. It was about a girl named Kiku who lived in Seattle. Her and her mother went on a trip to San Fransico to see where her great grandmother grew up. Some reason with them exploring San Fransico, started a displacement.
Tumblr media
The first displacement put Kiku in a violin recital, Kiku begins to think the girl she sees in the recital is her great grandmother. The second displacement puts Kiku in a refugee came, there she learns more about the Japanese culture. She meets friends and the hardship of Japanese inside the camp. Kiku was in this camp for about a year.
Tumblr media
Listen, if you like books based on Japanese culture, and slow-paced books. This is your book; I have tried to get into the book. But it was hard to stay with. I bought this book off Ebay. And I'm not saying it's not a great read, it was just way too slow. I recommend it to anyone who likes to read about different cultures and likes books about civil rights. This is your book!!! Another aspect I didn't like, it was a lot of holes in the story. Like what happened to her actual family while she was displaced? Did they look for her? Did they wonder where she was? And why did she displace for almost a whole year? These are questions I would like answers to. I feel like the author dropped the ball in that aspect of the story.

Spotlight | François-Henri Désérable, A Ravaged World: Travels Across Iran | Editions Gallimard
François-Henri Désérable travelled from Tehran to the border with Balochistan at the end of 2022, at the height of Iranian Government repression quashing civil unrest and nationwide protests against the death of Mahsa Amini in police custody.  At the end of his forty-day journey he was arrested and interrogated by the Revolutionary Guards, who believed his story: instead of being imprisoned he…

Title: Parasyte Genre: horror, sci-fi Main Character: Shinichi Izumi, Kazuyuki Izumi, Nobuko Izumi, Satomi Murano The parasites that have invaded the Earth have infected animals and humans.
Tumblr media
Slowly, it infects the brain, the parasite host that has infected Shinichi, is a good host, which is named Migi. And he has protected Shinichi from other hosts and parasites. This book is very funny and light, even though the storyline has horror vibes. During Shinichi journey he meets a girl name Kana, and she has the neat ability to tell detect if a person has a parasite in them. However, this manga is not for anyone under the age of 18. It does have a part in there that is a little sexual.

These two together fight and try to survive other parasites. If you don't like to read as much there is a anime to get into as well. However, I have not seen the anime, but I bet it is as lovely as the manga.
