Medical Interview Two: The Leak (Part Seven)
Medical interview two, Dr. Jones speaking.
It has been twenty four hours since the last contact was made with the patient. I am going to attempt another interview now, under the watch of Lieutenant Volkov. He has a rather impressive reputation, with extensive combat training, so I feel this interview should go better.
"You know I can hear you, da?"
I'm sorry Lieutenant. Just, stating it aloud, for documentation purposes.
"That is ok. I listened to last interview. Good documentation practices."
Thank you Lieutenant. I will however need you to remain silent for the interview.
"I will be as silent as the mouse."
Thank you. The patient has been in isolation a total of forty eight hours. Automated services in the sick bay have been delivering them food and water, however no staff was brave enough to venture in to check on the patient in the past twenty four hours. This interview will be Mr. Smi- I mean the patient's first contact since the last interview. Let's hope this interview goes better.
*Grreeeeaa*
The isolation unit is dark. The light is on, but there appears to be something covering it. I can't tell what it is though. Eugh! Something smells in here! It's like rotten meat, like someone left a steak out overnight. There's a faint dripping sound, but I can't tell where it's coming from.
"It's coming from the light Doctor."
The patient has spoken from the isolation unit.
"The patient... You keep calling me that."
Well, you didn't seem to respond positively to Mr. Smith...
"I am not Mr. Smith anymore! That name doesn't fit me! It's dead to me!"
That's why I've stuck to the patient.
"I guess that is suitable."
Why is it dark in there? What's blocking the light?
"Oh... My bad, let me move that."
Oh- Oh no! Oh god!! Was that skin? What happened to your face?
"I freed myself! I got out! My skin didn't fit me anymore. But now I'm free! And I'm so beautiful!!"
That's disgusting!!
"NO! No it's not! You've done nothing but insult me since you brought me here! You haven't helped me at all!"
I- I've tried!
"No you haven't!"
Please! Mr. Smith!
*KRASH!*
AAAAAAHHHHH!!
"I told you not to call me that anymore!!"
*KRSHSHSRKSSHSRR*
End of log.

‘Weavers are commonplace in any Ghi fleet. With their hundreds of spindly tendrils they twist and unwind their victims flesh into strands and store the still-writhing spools of gore for later use in repairing the Ghi’s various living structures and vehicles.  If one is seen swimming through the air, it is advised to run immediately,  as there is very rarely just one.’
This is a thing from my lil’ worldbuilding project I’m working on! The Ghi are a fleet of eldritch-biological-horror monsters who seek to assimilate all life in the multiverse. There's a LOT more details I have on these guys (and other various groups ;D), and I’m gonna start posting more regularly about it (with art of course!).
Hope you like it :3

Looking over Pruning Shears and Spades again… and god I love the symbolism I put in there.
And the horror. I was able to make it twisted enough to build off of, and there’s going to be more plant horror and dysmorphia…
The way that vines tangle over bones, the way that flowers bloom from cavities that they have no place being in, the way that flowers have such interesting alternate names… I *love* it
I do love to make Hazel go through things. Both physical and emotional distress.
She won’t die though! It’s not a tragedy so you all won’t have to worry about it.

Spatial Fluidity
The man who I remember Resides in an eruption of chaos - A reactor tempered by the jungle, He is more mechanist than biotic, Collecting emotions that don't exist - To him, it's all a gradual madness
A lacking heart exchanged for the nuclear, He razes the seasons of pollen and snow And holds them captive in a prisonic void How I wonder if he's even a man still, Or if he's succumbed to the machine

...a strange psychotic God...
Reading Tomie by Junji Ito, I am struck by the puppetry of it all, by the total lack of freewill.
Nobody has self control! Nobody is able to control themselves around Tomie; the puppet-master who controls all she meets.
More interesting, Tomie is unable to control herself. The puppet-master has no freewill.
She seems like a strange psychotic God; the only kind of God who could have birthed our universe. A God without freewill, who tortures all…

Medical Log Three: The Knowing (Part Five)
Medical log three, Dr. Stein speaking.
It has been only sixteen days since I took over the role of Head Doctor from Dr. Jones. Just sixteen days and I've already conducted a procedure more stressful than the likes of which I ever performed on Earth.
The expedition team returned early from their mission, rushing Dr. Weston into sick bay. He had been attacked by some creature on the planet's surface. They said it burrowed into his skull through the forehead. He screamed for a while, then lost consciousness. They wanted me to get it out.
My first job as Head Doctor and I was completely lost. There were no visible marks on Dr. Weston's forehead. Whatever entered him had sealed itself in. I examined the skin down to the cellular level. I couldn't find any sign of damage. There were no scars or sutured flesh, it was all cleanly grown skin. I made an incision into the flesh. The skull was a different story. It wasn't quite bone, at least not anymore. It was malleable and elastic, but still hard enough to protect the brain within. The full skull hadn't been transformed, just the area in the forehead. A small circle, most likely where this creature had entered Dr. Weston.
The elasticity of the material made it easy to cut through. I sent a small camera into his brain, attempting to find whatever creature may be located within. I searched through the different lobes of the brain, before eventually finding the creature in the great longitudinal fissure. It was small and slimy, a thin blue worm. It looked to be about half an inch in length. It would be easy to remove, if not for one little complication. The creature had barbed tendrils branching off of it. The tendrils stabbed into the surrounding brain tissue. There was no way of telling how deep it would go. Removing the parasite from the patient would cause an untold amount of harm on Dr. Weston's mental capabilities. The results could be potentially life changing.
That was not the kind of decision I felt comfortable making without the patients consent. I sealed the wounds and placed him in the newly repaired isolation unit. We are still waiting for him to regain consciousness. When he does, he will be the one who decides if I remove the parasite or not. Until then, there's nothing I can do to help him.
End of log.
