What if...? S2 E2 Review:

Man, Asgard cannot catch a break lmao. How many times has it been destroyed now? Poor Thor.

And speaking of Thor, I love him here. When he first showed up and knocked Quill out he looked menacing as hell! Honestly his appearance here is proof you can make him both goofy and badass at the same time without assassinating his character *cough* Taika *cough*

Thor also being the character who is in the most teams is funny to me.

Also really nice how both Hank and Quill got closure by learning to care about others, I really liked his parental side of Hank instead of the usual grumpy old man he is in the movies. Pretty sure he just went on and adopted the kid, probably a good thing that Quill has a father figure now that isn't a megalomaniac. Hope and Quill siblings real!

Can I also say how sad it is that Howard never gave up on Bucky? He kept hope that his friend was in there somewhere, even when he told Peggy to move on... Which makes what happened in the main timeline all the more heartbreaking. (Also this episode implies that Peggy and Howard always knew Bucky was turned into the Winter Soldier or at least they had suspicions that it was him) and he's free at the end so hopefully he'll end up in a better future than the main timeline.

I enjoyed this more than last episode and I definitely would like to see more of the 80s Avengers.

Final Score: 9/10.

THERE ARE SO MANY EASTER EGGS! AND REFERENCES

Peggy and Howard being shook after seeing the winter soldier was crazy and then calling it rumour that it’s Bucky.

And Winter soldier talking felt a bit weird probably because he doesn’t, and mention of Steve! Howard talking with Bucky so that he doesn’t shoot Peter Quill was insane.

And then him saying that Cap is saving his ass ahaha

Hope and Peter getting to know each other was great too I honestly thought he might attack her.

The unlikely team up during the Cold War with the Russians ahaha

Th mention of teseract, Kree and Peter picking up the raccoon toy I mean love the details

Thor showing up? It was hilarious and Peter saying I’m Starlord that felt great and just blasted out Ego.

okay by virtue of being me i think all of them are bisexual but i'm going to give the specific vibe i get off them in how their bisexuality manifests.

hank is bi, knows he is bi, but never talks about it because i don't think he would feel confident that he's queer 'enough' to warrant telling people about it, and also because he's gone so long without mentioning it at this point he thinks it would be awkward to get into it so he just. doesn't mention it. i'm also a transmasc hank believer because something about superheroes with size changing abilities always reads trans to me.

janet is bi, doesn't know she is bi, thinks every woman has thought about becoming intimate with other women and needs jen or someone to give an america chavez-esque "i've seen how you look at me, you're not that straight". it fits well with my transfem janet dream where growing up bc of homophobia and presenting as a femme gay man she just. never really thought about her attraction to women and won't til someone confronts her with it. probably jen. maybe tigra?

bill foster bisexual, would have risked it all for benjamin grimm and decided to stop ignoring it after almost dying of space cancer or whatever. hasn't ever really said anything but keeps getting into homoerotic situations with other men, like hank, ben grimm, and luke cage. i don't think he would fully register being a queer man though until tom brings it up and they have a nice bonding experience talking about it. bill is cis but would keep on doing drag performances, initially for the bit but ends up really enjoying it.
