So, in my Real Life, I work as a therapist. And I think that's part of the reason I find Aziraphale and Crowley so fascinating.

We are all so accustomed to seeing toxic relationships play out all over literature and movies - relationships in which manipulation, control, codependency, obsession and abuse are passed off as normal, desirable or romantic.

Think about Tom Cruise telling Renee Zellweger, "You complete me." As if I can't be a whole person without you.

Think about The Notebook, where Ryan Gosling threatens to commit suicide if the object of his obsession doesn't go out with him.

Think about Edward sneaking in through a window to watch Bella sleep.

Creepy. I could name many more.

There's a lot of abuse, control and manipulation in GO, but not between Crowley and Aziraphale. Between them is tenderness, protection, irritation, frustration, teasing, friendship, inability to fully communicate, empathy, forgiveness, shared trauma, humor, growth and change, loyalty, loneliness and shared interests.

It's not perfect, at all, nor does it ever try to portray itself as such.

But there's no part of it that gave me what I call the "creep vibe." There are no red flags that, if I were counseling either one of them, would make me go, "That's toxic."

And I love that so much.

The traffic of getting out of the campus was tough, the occasional fan coming up to the car to either take videos of it for social media or to interact with both you, Lewis or the other drivers. Having the top down for the fans to have better access to the both of you resulted in paparazzi at the gate of the university, trying to grab pictures of you mainly.

“Babe look! They’re calling it the Paddock Grad party.” You chuckled as you chuckled at the tweets you were scrolling through as you found out that you were trending on the app. The wind wasn’t too harsh on your faces as he cruised down the streets, constantly congratulating you and doing an amazing job at distracting you from the fact that the rest of the grid that attended your graduation had driven past you.

Reaching the infamous Hidden Hills gates, you were greeted with balloons from the guards, already putting the biggest smile on your face. Driving towards your LA home, you noticed all the super cars, hyper cars and luxury vehicles leading up to your driveway with each car having a gold balloon strapped around the mirror. You were absolutely stunned by everything you were taking in and Lewis looked at you as if you hung up all the stars in the night sky, extremely proud of your achievements.

With him helping you out of the car, you noticed the white rose petals scattered around the front yard and the music blaring from your backyard. The thought of all your favourite people coming together to celebrate your newest achievement was bringing tears of joy to your eyes, refusing to cry and ruining your lashes. Walking into your home, you noticed the incredibly large table of gifts as you walked into your foyer and Lewis just following behind you as you marvelled at everything in your home.

“Y/n,” He called out as you were a few feet away from the door leading to your backyard. Looking back at your husband, you held his hand. “Don’t you want to change your shoes?” He asked, noticing your discomfort from your heels after the graduation ceremony had ended. You nodded with the most love sick smile on your face as he brought out your favourite Gucci platform sandals from behind his back. He let out a little giggle at the look on your face and got on his knees to undo your shoes for you. Sighing of relief as your bare feet hit the cool ground, you slipped your feet into the sandals, noticing the height change between you and Lewis as he was taller than you. He placed a kiss on your forehead then your lips, repeatedly kissing your lips until your giggle stopped him.

As you walked into the kitchen which had access to the patio door, you noticed all the food and dessert beautifully decorated with white and gold, the one thing catching your attention the most was the doughnut stand in the middle of your island. You gasped and immediately went for the stand, grabbing a white chocolate doughnut that wrote ‘congratulations, y/n!’. You split it into two pieces and offered to Lewis knowing he would definitely decline it but he surprised you by taking the other half. “What? I can’t say no to a celebration.” He winked at you as he took a bite out of it.

Almost forgetting about the party he quite literally planned to happen in his backyard, he held your hand once again and led you to the party outside with all the guests waiting for you. As he opened the door, the sounds of Kaytranada were heard and people talking as they turned their attention to the door you were walking out from. The cheers started as you fully walked into the yard with Lewis squeezing your hand and letting it go, stepping to the side to let people celebrate you.

The first person to approach you was your mother, embracing you in a loving hug as tears threatened to fall. The next being your younger sister, trying her hardest to stay cool as she looked at you so proudly. Your immediate family had come up to congratulate you before letting your friends celebrate you.

After receiving hugs and congratulatory messages from everyone, taking many photos from the Photo Booth that was rented and a little bit of dancing, it was soon time to eat as the sun was setting beautifully as the hues of pink and orange hit your skin. Placing your graduation cap on the hook of your chair, you faced everyone as you sat at the head of the table. During your meal, you decided to make a speech to say thank you to everyone.

“Hey everyone,” You greeted as all eyes turned to you when you stood up. “Um, sorry for interrupting your eating. Just wanted to say a speech to you guys.” You began and you heard Daniel Ric’s iconic ‘Ki ki’ noises that you’ve had the honour of hearing live many times. “Thank you Daniel for that, gratefully appreciated.” You smiled, causing the whole table to laugh.

“I would like to start off by saying thank you, truly. To my family for supporting me through everything, to myself for getting these degrees, to my friends that i have met along the way and to my loving husband for sticking with me and loving me.” You expressed, seeing smiles from everyone around you. “I remember leaving home, just graduated with my undergrad and i wanted to spoil myself and I took a solo trip to the Monaco gp with an extremely limited budget and i didn’t know what i was going to eat for that week but my younger delusional self knew that I wasn’t going to struggle because a driver will see me on the stand and instantly fall for me and well, that’s exactly what happened except now I’m the designated paddock mom.” You chuckled, reminiscing on that life changing week.

“Years later, I’m married to the love of my life with my master’s degree on lock, just hitting the millionaire status from my career and the best people by my side supporting me through and through. I truly love all of you so much and lemme stop before i ruin this makeup.” You laughed, grabbing a serviette and dabbing your eyes before tears fell.

HI okay this is a big answer but i’m taking you at face value that you actually wanna know haha !! popping them under the cut for anyone who doesn’t

1. current wips are: christmas fic (love you like a dog sequel) / sickfic / madney wedding bed sharing (another. lol) / fuck you buckley parents (tbh i’ve forgotten what i wanted to write here) / kissing bruises prompt (for @eddiebabygirldiaz) / cruise disaster fight fic (nina writing non-crack? alert the papers alert bella hadid)

2. a snip from xmas fic:

“Oh,” Buck grins. “Best friend’s cool older brother situation, huh?” Eddie makes a face at him. “She did look pretty happy to see you,” Buck shrugs, leaning his forearms on the trolley handle. “Mm,” Eddie looks at him. “S’that why you rubbed yourself all over me?” “No,” Buck says haughtily. “It’s just been a while since I rubbed myself all over you. Figured now was as good a time as any to catch up.” He grins when Eddie rolls his eyes and hip-checks him, making the trolley wobble and veer left. The first time Buck had gotten all up in Eddie’s space like this, cheeky and dimpled and all oh I didn’t see you there as he wrapped himself around Eddie for everyone to see, it had been during a charity drive at the station. Eddie’d bundled him into a storage closet to kiss him exasperatedly about it for a bit and said, “Why don’t you just take a leak on me, let everyone know who I belong to?” Buck looked like he was having a stroke then, jaw slack and eyelashes trembling. He’d been pink in the tops of his cheeks for the whole day after, sneaking looks at Eddie when he thought he wasn’t aware.

3. i usually come up with dialogue first and stories sort of form around it? OR i hear a song and think of a lyric title and build it based on that. like for cruise disaster fic (which i’m not sharing yet) i heard a song, thought of dialogue in one particular scene, and went from there.

im really excited about that one i think! i’ve been enjoying writing a lot recently (idk if you can tell from the. Three fics i’ve posted this month lmfao)

i can’t listen to anything while writing i get super distracted!!

struggling with: xmas fic and idk why. i’ve written the entire first half, plotted the entire second half in bullet points but just struggling to write it out. anyone got any advice for that block i am desperate!! really wanna post it

Dear God, the Parthenon is still broken is a photographic vignette by Yorgos Lanthimos. Although created on the set of the film Poor Things in Budapest, the book inhabits a separate world, untethered from time and place.

The photographs drift between black and white and colour, giving the impression of a waking dream between past and present, whilst multiple layers between reality and fiction are gradually revealed. The film was set in various late 19th century locations including London, Lisbon, Marseille, and a cruise ship—all recreated in Budapest. These constructed cities and interiors provide the backdrop for the photographs. The characters populate these imagined cities whilst the precarious screens, scaffolding, rigs, lighting and crew are divulged on the periphery of the images. Lanthimos has intentionally widened the frame to show the workings of the construct, fabricating a new story within the story. To mirror this, the publication is designed with foldouts to reveal these constructs within the cast of characters—the reader opens a book within a book.

In reaction to the fast-moving creation of the film, Lanthimos embraced the opportunity to use a large-format camera to make these images, focusing on stillness, tonality and light. Deciding on a composition and not changing this until the exposure was complete, each picture provided him with a meditative time of focus. The creative process of making the images extended to collaboration with the actress Emma Stone who played the role of Bella Baxter in the film, for which she was awarded an Oscar. Through working together on previous projects, Lanthimos and Stone have developed a unique creative partnership. After a busy day of filming, they would develop the colour 6x7 negatives and the b&w 4x5 sheet film together in a makeshift darkroom in a bathroom. This alchemic act offered them both a creative outlet beyond the realm and constraints of the film.

The title of the book ‘Dear God, the Parthenon is still broken’ comes from a postcard that the character of Bella Baxter was to send to her father, God, from Athens. The scene was cut from the final version of the film.

The book opens with a previously unpublished poem by Patti Smith, inspired by the film.

Yorgos Lanthimos, was born in Athens, Greece. A versatile creative, in addition to directing dance and music videos, TV commercials, short films, and theatre plays, he has also photographed editorials and fashion campaigns. His breakthrough came with the film ‘Dogtooth’ (2009), earning an Un Certain Regard Prize at Cannes and an Oscar nomination. ‘The Lobster’ (2015) won a Jury Prize at Cannes and the European Film Awards. This was followed by ‘The Favourite’ (2018) which earned Olivia Colman an Oscar. His latest film, ‘Poor Things’, won Venice's Golden Lion and four Oscars. ‘Dear God, the Parthenon is still broken’ (Void) is Lanthimos' first photography monograph.

Characters/dynamics wanted for a modern AU Marauders group RP set on a cruise ship

Further to the previous post about our upcoming Cruise AU (I'm leaving out links for now in hopes this shows in the tags) we are particularly interested in a few characters;

A male character for a romantic relationship with Benjy

Peter - let us have all the marauders

Pandora and/or Dorcas

A Prewett or two! (Maybe Fab or Gid/Benjy?)

Bella and/or Andy - A secret Black family background has been built by those of us writing Sirius, Regulus, and Narcissa. It would be great to have more cousins involved.

Evan - We'd love to have him around as a Rosier relative for Cissa and for fun with Regulus and Barty especially. A bartylus relationship is planned, but the RPers have an idea to turn it into rosestarkiller if that appeals to you (more details on this below the cut.)

We think there's an opportunity to have a French or French speaking (potentially Swiss) Evan having met Regulus in France (maybe through Cissa) and to have the group RP open with Regulus and Evan already close (to be discussed) and discovering that Regulus' ex is already working on the ship. Exes to lovers, rivals to lovers, and whatever dynamic is preferred for Evan/Regulus. (Expect fun conflict, no need to actually speak French, both Barty and Regulus writers have been in multiple RPs on the server, are active, and used to writing with each other and poly ships etc)
