you have some really evil, selfish and toxic ideas irt whos allowed to have friends, you know? i see pop psy people like you all the time making lists of things that are clear and obvious trauma induced behaviour, and then immediately flip to how if you have a friend who ever behaves like this they are evil and need to be cut off, theyre not allowed to have support systems to get better! you really hate bad victims, huh? if someone isn't demure and cowering and self effacing in their symptoms they don't deserve anyone? i got assaulted and when my friend group threw me out on my ass and called me too fucked up for acting erratic and strange in the aftermath and being unable to communicate why they used your posts to justify it. its sick that people like you will look at someone uncontrollably acting out their ptsd and go wow you aren't doing this nice enough to be tolerated! people like you talk so much about compassion but when it comes to people in actual crisis you don't give a shit. no, theyre acting too problematic. just cut them off! no one should help their friends!
original post
Please allow me to take this opportunity to make some things clear.
First, you do not know me. You do not know anything about me. You do not know where I've been, where I'm going, or where I am. All that you believe that you know is extrapolated from information I have volunteered to share. Information that is, by clear and honest choice, edited for both safety and personal security. Remember this.
Second, and I say this in the kindest of ways, because I have had to learn this lesson myself:
Nobody Owes You Shit.
Have you ever saved someone from drowning?
I have.
Do you know that a drowning person struggling to get air will instinctively drag you under them?
It's hard to save people in the water. It takes specific skills and knowledge that not everybody has. Not everyone can save a drowning person without drowning in the process.
The lifeguard needs energy, and strength, and expertise, and persistence.
The swimmer needs self-restraint, and composure, and the desire to be helped, and the ability to do what they can to facilitate their own rescue.
I believe in kindness, and generosity, and compassion. I believe in trying persistently, and in giving the benefit of the doubt wherever possible. I believe that people are good, and small, and trying. And I believe that I can give all the energy I have inside of me to help someone and still come up short.
So you're drowning? I'm sorry. That must be terrifying. That must be miserable. You must be experiencing the worst moments of your life. I hope someone nearby knows how to help you. I hope they have a raft you can climb into, or a rope for you to grab, or a float you can cling to. I hope things get better. I'll call for help, and give you what I can to get you to shore.
But don't you dare drag me under water and curse me for saving myself.
Now get out of my fucking inbox.

How much of a terrible mom was Cordelia? A full explanation.
It's a shame that the first post of my blog is dedicated to a rather ''interesting'' take @yuikomorii showed me, but taking into account that I've done my research involving the mothers, I find it a perfect opportunity to make a full explanation of Cordelia's abusive behavior.
Before I start, I would like to talk about why Cordelia acted the way she did (I AM NOT JUSTIFYING HER ACTIONS).
We know that Cordelia's father was neglectful towards her after the death of her mother which made her lack the ability to understand love.
Karlheinz manipulated Cordelia into marrying him and giving him children FORCEFULLY (because Cordelia did not want to have children). He also convinced Cordelia that it was okay for her to have many lovers and to have sexual relationships with FAMILY members
Cordelia's abusive behavior towards the triplets also comes over the fact of her jealousy and obsession with Karlheinz and surpassing Beatrix and Christa.
Getting this out of the way I will now start explaining why Cordelia was NOT a good mother despite her traumas.
Tumblr media
It's not strange to view Cordelia negatively if she's one of the antagonists of the franchise. NEVER did Diabolik lovers ever paint Cordelia as a good person and constantly tell us about how shitty she was towards her children and how much it affected them.
2. I'm not denying the fact that around those times parenting was more strict, however, you're forgetting that Cordelia didn't just slap, ground, or yell at her children, she put intense waves of pressure on Ayato, and drowned him, she sexually abused Laito, manipulated him and groomed him when he was a KID, forced Kanato to sing until he bled and made him watch her have intercourse with other men. This was the abuse the triplets went through until they finally had enough and attempted to kill Cordelia, which they succeeded.
Tumblr media
3. Yes, it's true that Beatrix wouldn't give the triplets much attention or love, she would probably neglect them due to not being her biological children and belonging to her rival, however, Beatrix WOULD NEVER do the messed up stuff Cordelia did. Yes, she was a terrible mother to Shu and Reiji, yet she would've never stepped down at Cordelia's level.
Tumblr media
4. A normal mother doesn't drown and threaten her child due to personal issues, A normal mother doesn't sexually abuse her child and grooms him to make him depend on her, and a normal mother doesn't force her child to watch her have sex with men and doesn't use his singing voice to get horny. If she was an affectionate mother ayato wouldn't have found the need to HIDE himself from her and the triplets wouldn't have considered killing her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. I would also like to add, that no matter how badly influenced Cordelia was, and no matter how much childhood trauma she went through, that would never be a justification for the way she treated her children. This does not only apply to Cordelia, this applies to every character and to real people as well. It's a reason why they behave that way, but never a justification. Also, Cordelia doing the bare minimum and behaving like an actual mother for a few moments does not mean she cares about her children. I don't think this is explicitly told, but I believe in those particular scenes she's grooming Kanato to become dependent on her like she did with Laito and Ayato.
Tumblr media
6. ''She never spoke that way to her children'' I'm sorry but I have to laugh?? I would've understood if you were an anime only (not really) but taking into account that you do know about the games this is really really wrong lol. I don't why it's difficult to understand that Cordelia didn't love her children. Cordelia is such a bad mother that when she was resurrected in Ayato's DF route, she didn't even apologize to him or to his siblings, and yet he still forgave her! She even told Ayato to APOLOGIZE to her and continued to insult him
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Credits to @dialovers-translations)
I understand (I think everyone in the fandom does) that Cordelia had her reasons to behave this way (childhood trauma and manipulation) but that doesn't excuse her actions. I don't agree with people hating on Cordelia and loving Karlheinz but I also don't agree with people defending Cordelia and saying she did nothing wrong when she did.
Cordelia isn't a black-and-white character and she's not a bad character either, she's very well-written for her purpose (an antagonist) but she's not a good person or mother. She never regretted what she did and if she was still alive during HDB she would've still been abusive to the triplets.
This is my problem with morally grey characters/Evil characters. They can't exist in media if people ignore their wrongdoings and actions and try to justify said actions. I'm not saying that they shouldn't exist but I'm tired of people painting them as good people or justifying their actions when their whole purpose as a character is to show that they're not good people and their actions are/were wrong.
To finish off the post I would like to say that I love Cordelia's character and I consider her to be one of the best-written characters in Diabolik Lovers. In my opinion, I would've liked to know more about her in further games but even if I feel this way about her I don't justify her actions and that's something we should all do. I'm glad the fandom no longer justifies the actions of the characters (with some obvious exceptions). And even if I like Cordelia as a character I don't shame others for not liking her, at the end of the day she was a horrible person lol.

hello—i have a question to ask, and i figured it’d be better to do it here than to bother an individual artist about this. (sorry in advance for bringing the mood down w/ a serious question, btw.)
so, i’ve seen posts going around lately where people are like “hey, stop being explicit about sonadow, it’s weird”. and i agree that making explicit comments on sfw work is not cool. forcing the creator to see stuff that might make them uncomfortable is rude. /gen
however, if the characters are explicitly stated to be aged up (like, have lived several years beyond the games) or are in an au where they’re older, is that still bad? /genq because i always thought that the authors/artists were specifically going out of their way to say “we’re actively not wanting to make these pieces about children, we just want to see these two personalities and how they would behave in nsfw situations”.
sorry again. i’m just very confused (and a bit scared by the hostility /nm) and was hoping that i could maybe get some clarification.
(btw, thanks to all the artists on this blog for making such cute art. it’s all really nice stuff.)
Hi there. This isn't the type of thing we would typically address here, but your approach tells me that you're looking to learn and understand, so I'll give you my thoughts.
First of all, to address hostility - it's intimidating and intense, because this is the kind of thing that fires people up. We're not exempt from this, because we do not want to see explicit content about minors, and we will be direct about this fact. And for some reason, some people get very offended when you tell them this.
I'm going to respond to you in good faith, and I don't assume any bad intentions on your part.
On aging characters up. I will be specifically talking about the sonic franchise as my example here, but this applies to any series where the focus characters are children.
Sonic and Shadow are kids. They are teenagers. Age discourse is NOT relevant. They are depicted as teenagers, they act like teenagers, and they are meant to be viewed as teenagers. And so this begs the question: why is there a need to see them in adult situations? Why is there a drive to depict minors in explicit situations?
Even if a creator is theoretically not making a piece about minors, when they choose to age up minor characters, that tells me that they thought about those minors in explicit situations, or that they wanted to see those minors in those situations, but needed a way to justify it.
This is why I fundamentally disagree with aging characters up to put them in adult situations. The core characters are children. Wanting to see a child character in explicit situations so badly that there is a need to justify it by aging them up or making an au or whatever is strange and disturbing, and I personally would not want to associate with someone who does that kind of thing.
Reflect on the issue yourself. All I can do is explain my reasoning, and say that I will choose not to associate with people who make and/or consume content of minor characters in explicit situations.
I appreciate that you want to learn. I am answering this question specifically because of the way you asked it, and that I see this as a way to tell you why we think certain things, and why we vehemently disagree with certain types of content. To others reading this, this post is NOT an invitation to discourse with us. I will not be arguing about ages or logistics or whatever. Do not try to convince me that nsfw of minor characters is okay, you'll get blocked immediately.

regarding aang becoming offended bc of his portrayal as a woman in ember island players, i think his anger was justified on that specific occassion? I mean, the fire nation was mocking his gentle nature and pacifism by portraying him as a blithering naive idiot who never took things seriously and the belittling of his culture and beliefs. This is one of the worst episodes for him, dont get me wrong, but in this case, femininity was utilized as a source of derision and weakness imo. I dont say this with bad intentions, just thought i would write this bc i also condemned aang for the same thing before
If that was what Aang was upset about I might be inclined to agree, but everything he says and does throughout that episode points to the contrary. Aang doesn’t say anything about the incorrect portrayal of his culture and personal values. Here is what he does say:
Tumblr media
[Note: the above expression is before the actress hardly says anything so he’s clearly just mad about the fact that she’s female]
Aang: [angrily] Is that a woman playing me?
Aang: I don't do that! That's not what I'm like! And I'm not a woman!
[Note: the official script includes the emphasis; again, it’s very obvious that he’s most bothered by being played by a woman]
Then this exchange:
Tumblr media
Toph: I don't know, you are more in touch with your feminine side than most guys.
Aang: [Standing up, angrily] Argh!
Katara: Relax, Aang. They're not accurate portrayals. It's not like I'm a preachy crybaby who can't resist giving overemotional speeches about hope all the time. [Everyone looks at her] What?
Aang: [Turns around and sits down. Sarcastically.] Yeah, that's not you at all.
You know what I love about this conversation is that is proves two things at once. Firstly, yet again, it’s clear that being portrayed by a woman is what is most upsetting to Aang. Secondly, his reaction (and, honestly, insult) to Katara’s values here shows that he’s not thinking that deeply about this. It has nothing to do with values. Aang is offended at the idea that he is being portrayed by a woman and with more “feminine” qualities, which honestly plays well with his creepy, possessive behavior with Katara later this same episode.
And I actually do like the fact that you brought up femininity being used as “a source of derision and weakness” because guess what! That’s the definition of femininity itself. Femininity doesn’t mean simply being a woman; femininity is the social behaviors and roles that women are expected to fulfill. Which is why I don’t have any sympathy for a man who is offended by being called feminine or compared to a woman because it’s reflective of a deeply misogynistic attitude on his part. If Aang thinks femininity is so degrading and weak, what does that say about the fact he expects his crush to behave that way? I mean, this is what he thinks of Katara, through his own perspective:
Tumblr media
So yeah, that’s my question. If being compared to a woman is so insulting and humiliating to Aang, what does that say about how he intuitively views actual women? Why does he think he’s above that treatment but women aren’t? People act like I’m crazy for saying that he exhibits toxic masculinity this episode but this only furthers that point.
Oh and before someone jumps in here and acts like this goes both ways, let me point you to this:
Tumblr media
Toph’s reaction to finding out she’s being played by a big, buff, stereotypically-masculine man. She’s thrilled! Why? Because we are products of a misogynistic society and therefore intuitively view being compared to a man as a compliment and a woman as an insult. The respective roles assigned to each are not equal. Masculinity and femininity were never equal and the system was deliberately created that way. You can see this idea ingrained in the writing of this episode because it’s a bias we all hold to some degree, including the writing and creative team here.
So I’m sorry, but considering the bias clearly present within the writing team and the way the characters behave this episode, it’s clear to me that Aang’s reaction has nothing to do with his culture and everything to do with his misogyny.

maybe it's because i am unable to feel emotions like normal people do, but i find myself slightly disturbed by the way people have this sort of, emotional hierarchy when it comes to being empathetic towards others
"i am sorry you are going through the worst time of your life. however, the way you are coping makes me uncomfortable, so you need to stop"
it's like a priority list. first goes what i feel, then things that don't affect me but i empathize with. whatever is below that must be quieted down and put under control, because i seem to be unable to extend sympathy to things that make me feel bad, because my emotions go first, and if my emotions are bad, you are bad
it makes for this weird oppression olympics of sorts. and this justifies the somewhat entitlement to telling others what they are, and what to do
"you made me uncomfortable, so you're manic" "i am displeased by this, you're having a breakdown" as if those two were cause and effect, and the main important things is that i am uncomfortable, that i am displeased . and not that a heavily traumatized person is showing signs of coping.
that is lower on the hierarchy, because it's not directly about me
empathy is one of those emotions i have a weird grasp of, so i'm not really able to choose who i extend it to. it just happens. this whole thing feels strange from my perspective at least, because there's a perfectly rational reason as to why dream behaves the way he does, and yet people don't see it because their displeasure with his actions, even if they are just an emotional response to trauma, goes above being empathetic
i guess feeling uncomfortable and being able to see the other side at the same time is a skill you practice ? but the consequences of not being able to do it seem really traumatic for all parties involved
essay andying sorry

in Defence of Creek ( warning if your an Avid Creek Hater you may not want to read this 😂😂 )
youtube
ps. Branch will Hair strangle some guy he Barely knew who he didn't even care about for betraying them but doesn't do the same to his Jerkass Brothers who let him down his whole life 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️.
anyway onto the topic at hand 😂😂😂😂
Creek gets an unfair Rap in my opinion sure he technically betrayed the village but when you examine the story of the first film he literally had no other choice.
as there's no other scenario that didn't end with him being Horribly Eaten as soon as he was picked by Chef for Gristle Jr to eat and taken out of the cage his fate was sealed.
unlike the rest of the snack pack he didn't have the option of sitting around waiting on the off chance Poppy would Rescue them.
we see in the Betrayal scene he was literally in Gristle's mouth before he finally played the only card he could and said he'd do what ever they wanted him to do.
and from then on he was kept in Gristle's locket around his neck which I have to say was Horrible poor guy was stuffed in their with no space or light or even air given how tight it was.
and he was kept there until eventually being moved out of the locket and put into Chef's waist bag just before the snack pack got the Locket from Gristle and were then captured by Chef.
and from that point like Creek himself said there was literally nothing else he could do that wouldn't result in him being killed straight away by Chef.
this is what rubs me the wrong way about the movie trying to make him into a villain he has no real agency in the betrayal it'd be a little easier for me to Judge him.
if he was kept in the cage with the Rest of the Snack Pack so he had the option of just having faith in Poppy someone he claimed to care about.
coming to save them but instead he took the more cowardly action and offered to sell everyone out early on in order to save himself then I feel it'd work a little better.
but having him be plucked from the cage early on and literally only betray everyone when he was on the verge of being eaten just makes him a victim in my eyes.
like I'm sorry but he can't be blamed too much for anything he does at that point he's just a normal civilian who's life was put in danger by negligent leaders ( cough Peppy cough ).
he technically wasn't obligated to die then and there and the whole situation with him selling out the Village is a classic Trolley Problem sure its easy to Judge.
from the outside but when we're on the verge of being gruesomely murdered who's to say what each of us would do in the moment to stay alive.
basically its Chef's actions and she's the one to blame not Creek dude was a literal Hostage who had been kidnaped Humiliated by being shoved in a taco and sprinkled with spicy stuff.
and then nearly eaten and then crammed into a tiny locket for presumably Hours and then crammed into a waist bag like how is this guy not the victim here?
and some people do like to point to how he behaved about the whole thing telling Poppy he's doing it for her but I'm sorry that doesn't change anything in my eyes.
sure its an unusual reaction but its also an unusual situation and I see it more as him weakly attempting to justify it to himself since he does admit he wishes there was another way but is promptly reminded by Chef that there isn't.
his Reaction isn't Great but it doesn't change the situation and make him some pure evil person.
a little autistic maybe? given the weird response to an emotional situation he has but yeah it doesn't make him worse in my eyes.
basically to end things the film as well as the fandom that villainise him seem to basically be saying that he should have just laid down and accepted his gruesome fate the first time.
and the movie even ends on a cruel irony of still being eaten along with Chef.
which for Chef is ironic in a karmic way but for Creek its just kinda sad tbh so the film's saying his death was decided at the start and he's a villain for not accepting it the first time.
and as punishment he meets the same fate in the end anyway.
I thought this was a Trolls film not a Final Destination film lol.
anyway even tho its separate cannon I was Happy when he was Revealed to still be alive in TBGO sure I feel his Return could have been written way better.
but Regardless I'm Glad he's still alive he didn't deserve to die and also the movie cannon never contradicts the tv show cannon in Terms of Creek's survival.
so yeah he could very well still be alive in the movies as well sorry Haters 😅😅😅😅.

❥ the softies
these yanderes prefer to not hurt others or you. their behavior mostly extends to stalking, breaches of privacy if given an opportunity — mostly harmless behaviors that go unnoticed by most, either due to being demure or because others genuinely just can't see them as the type to do the things they do. they will only go as far as to hurt someone if they pose a genuine threat to you/your relationship with them. a relationship with them is one that can be the most akin to normalcy, but don’t be fooled — it’s not hard to goad them into doing something unforgivable. and once they've started down that path, it's simply not possible to get them off.

these yanderes only behave to maintain their connection to you. they don't care about others nor how their actions effect them, but know that acting out could hinder their relationship with you. so they're sneakier with how they work their way into your life. they like how you never notice that people who bother you always seem to get into painful 'accidents' or end up in life ruining incidents; or how you always seem to have no choice but to depend on them for one reason or another. they're masters of manipulation, terrifyingly good at putting up a facade to most and never get caught for their actions because of it. they don't mind the harm done to others if it gets and keeps them closer to you.

these yanderes care for no one but you. they’ll do whatever they have to in order to have you all to themself and they won’t feel bad about it, either. they’ll maim, sabotage, kidnap, and/or kill just about anyone who gets in their way with little, if any hesitation or guilt. they don't care who knows, and they don't care if they get caught. they want you, need you, and even if you don’t realize it right away, you need them too. to the monsters, the end justifies the means. and they'll do everything they can to get to the end. they'll destroy everyone and everything — including themselves and even you, if they have to — to achieve their goal.

Hi! Thank you for your request :)
...
Teddy bear
Platonic!Yandere!Mori Ougai x Child!Fem!Reader x Platonic!Yandere!Elise
Tumblr media
"Um... Please... Um... Excuse me... Sir... Um... Miss... Can you...?"
Another fast-passing person pushed you away, hurting you. All your life you grew up in a small suburb and that's why you were so glad to finally see the big port city firsthand. However, as often happens, expectation and reality didn't coincide...
Noisy streets where someone is constantly honking or shouting, huge buildings, that make your head spin and a huge flow of people, who don't care about you. How many times have you been pushed away? Tears began to burn your eyes painfully. However, you couldn't cry, at least not until you found either your mom or the police station...
With each repulsion and ignoring, it only got worse for you, and the eye on your teddy bear backpack came off. Exhausted, you show the photo to another person and suddenly feel like the photo is being taken out of your hands, you look up in fright. Noticing this, the person in front of you begins to justify himself guiltily.
"I'll just take a closer look, okay?"
Your eyes light up immediately.
"Yes! My mom is standing in the center. There is also a woman with glasses near her!"
"Oh, I see. She's wearing a purple blouse, am I correct?"
"Yes! Yes, that's her!"
The photo you showed was a group photo. There were 5 other people on it, besides your mom. Your eyes were burning with the fire of hope while the man in front of you was looking at the photo, his face was serious until his gaze returned to you. He smiled and handed the photo to you.
"How old are you?"
"I'm already five years old!"
"Five years... I see..."
The man in front of you rubbed his chin thoughtfully, while his hand came down on your head, ruffling your hair a little. Suddenly a girl with golden hair ran up to both of you, she pointedly stamped her foot and began to express her dissatisfaction.
"Rintaro! How much longer do I have to wait in the car?! You're not even in a hurry!"
Abruptly, her gaze darted to you and your photo. After a second, she turned away from you.
"Elice, please don't look at me like that!"
"Okay, whatever..."
Elice took your hand unexpectedly firmly.
"We'll be waiting in the car!"
Elice shouted to Rintaro for the last time and dragged you to the car. You didn't even have time to make a sound when she started explaining.
"Rintaro knows your mother, he'll figure out everything on his own. By the way, I like your backpack! But what with an eye?"
"Um... Thank you... I... I think, I lose it somewhere in crowd, while asking people."
Little by little, you managed to strike up a conversation with Elice. You showed her your briefcase in the shape of a bear, and she showed you a large number of boxes in the trunk and announced that it was all sweets. To say that your jaw dropped after that is not to say anything.
"Wow! Is there some kind of celebration today?"
"Yeah, Rintaro left home on his own, not for work. In his age, it's remarkable."
Elice replied sarcastically, crossing her arms over her chest. You tilted your head slightly, processing her words, when the car door opened.
"Finally! Rintaro, where are you...?"
Elice froze before she could finish, as did you. The blonde girl quickly pulled you closer to her while the man was installing the car seat. Surprisingly, Elice waited patiently, only giggling occasionally when he got confused in the installation and looked at the instructions again. However, in the end, you were still sitting in the car seat, and Rintaro was driving.
"I'm sorry... But I don't remember if I asked you for your name or not, could you introduce yourself to me again, little one?"
"I am Y/n."
"It's a very good name. Y/n, I'll help you find your mom, but you'll have to behave and wait a bit, okay?"

After marinating on it, I do have some feelings about the way Laudna behaved in the last episode. But first I wish to preface this by saying Marisha killed it with the RP. Seriously. No notes. Give her an Oscar.
The way Laudna played the victim throughout the entire scene is something I'm all too accustomed to seeing in my personal life. Without being specific as to who, I will say her behavior is that of what I witnessed from a family member firsthand. Between the way she used her own personal tragedy as a means to justify her actions and how she put blame on Orym's decision to wield Ishta to obfuscate where she was at fault. And also to not admit to everyone how Delilah was influencing her yet again. Another post I've seen brought up how she never even said "I'm sorry" once despite Ashton's advice, and that, too, is a major red flag.
Now, I will not dismiss the fact that Laudna had been wronged in her previous life. But to continue using it as a means to deflect is only going to make things worse for everyone close to her. Especially Imogen, whom you can see her heart breaking in real time.

I really like Snape as a character. I made the mistake of mentioning that online. Someone asked me how I like a character is inexcusably mean to children when he is a position of authority around them and how he is petty, can be cruel and harsh teacher and his lack of patience towards Nerville and basically a list of all the mean/horrible stuff that he has said/done. What do you say when people ask you how you can reconcile liking such a character given all of cruel and hurtful things that he has said and done both towards his students and joined willingly a known blood supremacist terrorist group and said known slur towards his friend that is a member of a minority group? I find Snape to be a deeply compelling and flawed and complex character- that's why I enjoy seeking out Snape centric fics.
thank you very much for the ask, anon, and i'm sorry that people have popped off about you liking snape. it's an extremely tedious way for them to behave, since these people are fictional.
i must be honest, i don't really get asked to justify my fondness for the baddies anymore, partially because i curate my fandom space in order to avoid it and partially because i must give the impression of not caring, but i've never found it particularly difficult to reconcile the fact that all my favourite characters are mass-murderers with the fact that i myself am not one...
the first - and frankly the most important - way that i do this is because i understand what genre conventions are.
it seems to me that this is the thing that really is the most lacking in the discourse surrounding the 'bad' characters in the harry potter series, with snape chief among them, but it’s absolutely crucial to understand:
snape is a mean teacher because harry potter is for children, and children do not want to read about sweet or competent adults.
[this is also the reason why the dursleys are horrible, or why hogwarts is such a dangerous and poorly-run school - if the series contained the line, a troll did not get into the dungeon and so harry did his homework, then any child worth their salt is hurling the book into a fire.]
it must be remembered that child readers - for whom the text is primarily intended - will have a different response to the tropes and themes of the series than adults returning to it with their own experiences, and that adults' responses to the books are not responses that the books were written to provoke. this doesn't mean that adults' reactions are unreasonable - nor does it mean that adults shouldn't engage with harry potter, as my 300k words on ao3 attests... - it simply means that it is not a flaw of the series that snape's behaviour is not addressed in the way that adults would like it to be. it's just genre.
because children tend to see the things in the series which horrify us as adults as considerably less frightening or problematic than we do ourselves. indeed, they often see interactions which we read as abusive, or as evidence of systematic cruelty, as simply unfair, and they are looking for retribution not in terms of legal punishment or wide-ranging institutional change, but in the character who is behaving unfairly getting their comeuppance, often in a comic way.
this is because fairness-unfairness is one of the primary ways in which children understand justice. as adults, we think with more nuance - but that doesn’t mean that our response to the text is better. in fact, we have a responsibility to understand the series’ genre conventions when we approach characters in our own writing - if you want to make snape a violent abuser, you actually need to understand all the ways in which the series shows him not to be those things.
snape’s relationship with his classes is written in a way which provokes the response in children that he is unfair, but not one which provokes the response that he is frightening - indeed, the story generally treats his 'cruelty' as comic, at least until half-blood prince, and he often gets an embarrassing comeuppance when he tries to be sincerely malicious. [i.e. literally everything which happens to him in prisoner of azkaban.]
he is unfair, because he doesn’t tell malfoy off for misbehaving. he is unfair, because he doesn’t give hermione a chance to answer questions. he is unfair, because he is rude to harry (who, like any good child hero worth his salt, has no respect for snape and isn’t scared of him). he is unfair, because he gives horrible detentions.
but no child character in the story ever seriously believes his behaviour to go beyond this - including neville.
neville’s fear of snape is caused by snape being unfair towards him - and, since neville is a character the text likes, snape therefore frequently gets his comeuppance for this unfairness. the incident where he threatens to poison trevor is horrible to read as an adult, but as a child the outcome - snape is foiled in his plan because of neville and hermione - is understood as triumphant. snape - an adult - is constantly outfoxed by his pupils - who are not adults - and children love to see that.
[similarly, it really should be emphasised that the text treats neville’s fear of snape as ridiculous. lupin laughs in his face about it in prisoner of azkaban, and neville himself admits that it’s silly and irrational. it cannot be seriously suggested - although i've seen plenty of people try - that snape is his boggart instead of bellatrix because snape sincerely frightens him more. he fears snape more than bellatrix because his narrative purpose in the first four books is to be comic relief - he’s a bit cowardly and a bit useless, and he provides a character for the child reader to feel braver and cleverer than.]
obviously, these incidents read very differently to adults - especially if you are an adult who has, knows, or works with small children. but if somebody complains to you about your favourite characters because they're upset by children’s literature without thinking about how it’s intended to be read by its primary audience... that’s not your problem.
but even beyond genre, i feel comfortable liking ‘bad’ characters because i understand human complexity.
online, it is increasingly becoming a dogma that our attitudes are fixed and unchangeable. i feel incredibly sorry for young people nowadays, who often have to live in a state of hypervigilance in order to make sure that they never do or say anything cruel or ignorant. this must be miserable, because flawlessness is unattainable - not only for real people but for fictional ones as well.
the fannish desire to write someone like snape off as bad and unchangeable - alongside the accompanying tendency to minimise the human flaws of characters such as james and sirius - comes from the fact that snape, like many antagonists, holds up a mirror to us as the reader. and we may not like what we see.
snape’s life demonstrates that it’s very easy to be radicalised into joining a terror group - particularly for people who have experienced things like poverty, being othered, or being bullied. it forces us to recognise that people who end up involved in evil did not come into it fully formed - they started somewhere, and they often ended up where they did because of failures in societies and their institutions which we ignore because they benefit us. after all, hogwarts does nothing to prevent voldemort recruiting death eaters among its pupils, hogwarts does nothing to dismantle the oppressive class system on which the wizarding world runs - the school is the archetypal ivory tower, and the ministry is no better.
snape’s life demonstrates that it's very easy for people who are victims in some areas of their lives to be perpetrators in others. trauma is often not sympathetic and perfect victimhood does not exist. having experienced trauma means you have experienced trauma - it can still make you act like a cunt.
and snape’s life also demonstrates that it’s very easy to - without entirely intending to - do something absolutely terrible, and this is something which we should always be compassionate towards. because it’s going to happen to all of us - and, actually, our terrible deed could easily be something as significant as snape’s report of the prophecy. if you drive, for example, it takes one momentary distraction for you to kill someone. what are you going to do if the person you kill is your childhood best friend, whom you love?
well… you’re going to try to redeem yourself. and, like snape, you will learn that redemption is messy and often strange, and that people can show growth in some areas and lack it in others.
and the redemption point is important - the idea that snape is redeemed by the end of the canon text is something which lots of fans push back against. but it’s crucial to note two things:
the first is that one’s own capacity for forgiveness and the potential of forgiveness as a concept are not the same thing. you might never have been able to forgive snape if you were lily or harry or dumbledore, but that says nothing about whether anyone else can or should. the second is that forgiveness and redemption are not inextricably linked. one can redeem oneself without being forgiven.
my view is that approaching bad characters with nuance is actively beneficial for us, and that having a ‘problematic fave’ is a good thing when it comes to our self-growth in the real world. if we believe ourselves to be immune to the sort of radicalising forces which would lead a person to other their best friend to the extent that they call her a slur, we will be easy to radicalise. if we believe ourselves incapable of making a dangerous mistake, we will be more likely to miss the clues that we’re about to. if we do not believe in the possibility of redemption for all, then we are going to have a very hard time when we do something bad, since we therefore have to believe in redemption for none.
thinking critically about oneself - both in relation to the media one enjoys and in general - is a protective act. learning to identify commonalities with bad people protects you. learning to recognise that you’re not always going to be good or right protects you. learning to accept that you’ll fuck up protects you. learning to be remorseful protects you. learning to forgive protects you. learning that the limits of your personal capacity to forgive is not the same as the potential of forgiveness protects you.
unsympathetic literary characters show us how to approach unsympathetic people in real life. snape is a brilliant example of what can be caused by failing to see the whole person - voldemort is evidently the only person who offers him a life-line, where dumbledore and the ‘good guys’ in wizarding society do not. this is a lesson to us all - if we flatten people into good-and-therefore-worthy-of-help and bad-and-therefore-not, it’s a recipe for disaster...
but this is all very pretentious and philosophical. the main reason why i have no qualms about enjoying ‘bad’ characters is because i’m not a cop.
the summary of the last point is - basically - that readers need to learn how to sit with discomfort in media, because discomfort within a fictional context is completely safe, and therefore it provides an outlet for people to think about themes or characters which are darker in a way which cannot cause actual harm.
fiction is not real life and fictional characters cannot harm you - and this is the case even if the fiction is about something which would or did materially harm you if it happened in real life. [this is doubly the case in harry potter because the harms upon which the series focuses are themselves fictional - the series’ blood-supremacy obviously reflects real-world examples of discrimination, but it is not something which any real person has actually experienced.]
this means that a reader’s reaction to something in fiction is always on them. authors have no responsibility to anticipate every single reader’s response to their writing - encountering something that upsets you in a fictional setting is your responsibility to deal with. [even if the author’s not tagged properly.]
snape may upset a reader for various reasons, some of which may be related to experiences of real world discrimination, but his existence cannot cause actual harm to any living person, because he and the society in which he lives are not real.
fictional crimes are not real crimes, and so, if someone tries to say that you shouldn’t enjoy reading about him because they don’t like it… they are a cop and you should have no respect for them. acab applies to the thought police too.
and knowing this gives us a powerful tool… i have no qualms about being criticised for liking bad characters because i just say acab and go on with my day.
just as you can’t cause anyone else material harm in your consumption of fiction, nor can anyone else cause you material harm just by criticising your choices - obviously, if they’re attempting to doxx you, or to cause any real-world repercussions because of your fan-fiction tastes, that’s another matter - which means that you have the power to choose to be unbothered by unjustified criticism. it’s not even that hard! simply refuse to be upset!
curate your fandom experience without shame. post what you like. block and move on. filter assiduously. scroll past without engaging. don’t waste your time getting into fights. don’t answer comments which are rude. don’t feed trolls. delete messages. this is just harry potter!
and also be compassionate towards the fact that people don’t express themselves perfectly. if you are primed not to immediately get upset or consider yourself to be under attack, you will be able to read comments with more clarity, to look and see if you can find commonalities, and to answer them in a way which doesn’t escalate the situation.
[and always remember that a lot of the angriest and most righteous comments come from teenagers, and being a teenager is hell. be compassionate, as your fandom elders had compassion for you.]

Saw your post about how the singles from vanilla and expanded flirt, and here comes the obligatory ask about the guys and gals from rsv! 😜
Here you go, Lotus ☺️ thank you for the ask!
How well Ridgeside Village bachelors/ettes flirt with the Farmer:
Ridgeside Village bachelors (+unlovable):
Oh, poor Ian doesn't know what to do with his feelings. He tries to compliment them, to start a conversation, he even asks Sean for advice, but as soon as he opens his mouth in front of the Farmer, the words stick in his throat and his cheeks turn red. Sure, Ian occasionally gives Farmer wooden figurines he's made himself and always smiles genuinely at their appearance, but it's a bit difficult for him to flirt. 5/10, he's really trying, give this kind and shy fella a chance.
June's situation is quite interesting. The talented pianist will easily start a dialogue with the object of his adoration, but sometimes conversations can go so far that June forgot that he invited Farmer for a cup of coffee to ask if they were single, and ended up giving a whole lecture about the proper roasting of coffee beans. If Farmer didn't find these stories boring, but rather the opposite, June will be able to seduce Farmer with good flirt, and they'll both wait half a season for the two of them to go on a date again. 7/10.
Like a noble prince from famous fairy tales about beauties (well, technically, he is a prince), Zayne will demonstrate a real art in sophisticated flirting. The young man is very well-mannered, kind, a bit modest and always polite, so it won't be difficult for him to seduce the object of his affection. 9/10, almost perfect!
All right kids, stand back. For now Jeric is about to show that he is the master of the successful compliment! The young farmer and fancy dress enthusiast has a natural charm that few can resist. At times he may blush a little in front of Farmer and forget what he wanted to say, but for the most part he's a very good flirt. 7/10, very good.
I'm sorry Jio, but you won't win Farmer's favour with constant snapping and all sorts of rude words. And it would be justified (not really) if he and Farmer were strangers, but Farmer is almost going to give him a bouquet, and the grumpy elf sends them away. Sure, he'll shower the Farmer with compliments in Elvish and show his soft side. But before that... 0/10, no offence, Jio. Sharp-eared tsundere bitch.
Even with his injury, Shiro doesn't miss the opportunity to invite Farmer for a walk on the beach, where he shows them his heartfelt flirtation. Shiro really enjoys Farmer's company, finding them to be a very attractive and nice person, and if Farmer is okay with his advances, he will continue. 8/10, a very good flirtation on an emotional connection.
To be honest, Anton is still having a hard time pulling himself together after failed wedding, career collapse and other hardships to believe in himself again. Even though he has a lot of interest for Farmer, Anton still can't bring himself to start flirting. And should he, because he thinks no-one wants him. It's not true, but... *sigh* 2/10, there were some attempts. Anton is a romantic man, he just needs to believe in himself.
Kenneth's flirting is perhaps the most unusual. Due to his slight shyness and desire to surprise Farmer, he will send his robot to say compliments and give letters. It's quite nice... until the robot malfunctions. Then the electrician will quickly apologise and try to make conversation. Kenneth and his unusual flirting was to their liking. 6/10, quite good, the important thing is that the robot doesn't malfunction again and start a fire.
For a rather emotionally reserved person who has a difficult and responsible job, Bryle behaves quite romantically. Classic flirting and courtship are assured for the Farmer. He is quite confident in his winning ways, and if Farmer responds to his endeavours, the bodyguard will slowly reveal himself to them. 7/10, there are a couple of flaws but overall very good!
How can you not love a golden retriever? And how about a man who is as kind and good as a retriever? Who is so good that you want to cuddle him and listen to him babble endlessly about comic books? That's what I'm saying. 6/10 for Phillip, this man hasn't started flirting yet but has already achieved the flirt points and hearts of many, including Farmer (I'm judging everyone fairly, of course).
When Sean begins his mission to gain the Farmer's interest in his person, he will appear in their sight more often, each time offering to take a break, play video games, or prank with the kids. When hanging out frequently, he is more interested in getting to know the Farmer better, remembering to compliment their appearance or how cleverly they pranked someone. A playful flirtation that not only works, but earns 7.5/10 points. Great job, Sean!
RSV bachelorettes (+unlovable):
Daia flirted with Farmer even when they both barely knew each other. How does Farmer even need to figure out now if her intentions to start a relationship are serious or just another joke? Regardless of the teases with double meanings though, Daia has started acting like a humble and fragile girl around Farmer. So after all, her intentions have gotten serious. 10/10, she is good at flirting, even too good...
Flor can't flirt. Period. She's too insecure and very shy, constantly hiding her face behind a book and stuttering at the sight of someone she's partial to. I'd like to say Flor will try to compliment her, but... nope. 0/10, It's up to the Farmer themselves to make the first move.
With her beautiful voice, with which you can serenade people, Alissa could conquer anyone who came to her heart... if she wasn't so insecure and shamed by her own voice. Such potential - and not to use it, how can you do that! So she's pretty humble, so 4/10, a bit stilted, but the attempts are there.
"My name is Blair, I'm your future wife!" And the young fisherwoman knows how to properly meet people.... Ok, ok, it was a joke from her, but Blair shows herself confident enough to flirt with Farmer when she have romantic feelings for them. During the courtship, she can tease Farmer, easily making them blush. 6/10, quite good actually
Shared pastimes and fun are Paula's main trump card in winning the heart of the much-loved Farmer. The head doctor of Ridgeside Village has decided to be herself and spend more time with the object of her affection, creating truly beautiful moments for the two of them, not forgetting to hint at them her romantic feelings. She does it very professionally, by the way, as if she was trained somewhere. 7/10, you can do it, doctor!
To tell the truth, Corine's romantic interest is sometimes hard to recognize. Most likely, it is in this way, with emphasized delicacy, without pressure, she will woo the chaotic Farmer. Not to say that the girl is a master at it, but not a novice either. She is not usually the initiator of the conversation, so she may stutter a little at the sight of the reason for her crush. If Farmer starts the conversation first, the girl will be more confident. 5/10, basically okay.
Oh, Ysabelle will giggle and flirt with Farmer behind the counter at the hotel the whole time. You can tell right away that when she's flirting with them, her speech is softer, deeper and not very loud. She is quite skillful in using her entire arsenal in terms of flirting. 7.5/10 (7/10 if her Grandpa starts teasing her lightly and the girl immediately blushes and her attitude gets thrown off because Grandpa, don't make her blush in front of the Farmer!).
Does anyone remember how Irene's cheeks were the color of tomatoes at the sight of Zayne, and her own voice betrayed her and she constantly squeaked at the mention of the same future head of the Amethyne family? Well, she has an even harder time with Farmer. Irene used to be able to have friendly conversations with them, but when her amorous gaze is now fixed on Farmer, it's... yeah. 5/10, flirting is hard for her now, but trying to get their love through delicious desserts worked.
Faye very skillfully demonstrates a model of extroverted behavior. She jokes with Farmer, does not skimp on compliments and tries to establish physical contact: to touch his shoulder, take their hand. At times she can get distracted by talking a lot, but her flirting is very good. 7/10, give her a little time and she will charm them quickly.
Flirting is not Kiarra's thing. She would probably just tell that she likes Farmer very much, not only as a friend. She's used to telling people the truth to their faces, and thinks there's no point in flirting and creating an illusion for herself. You could ask them straight out, because what if they already have a partner? 0/10, she's an honest girl, but don't even count on a show of flirting before Farmer says their feelings are mutual.
I'd like to say that Maddie could compete with Jio for the title of "tsundere of the year", but after getting to know Farmer better and trusting them, she doesn't behave the same way anymore. Yes, occasionally, she can be rude again, pushing Farmer away, but this has become less and less frequent, and all her grumbling about Farmer being "clingy" has died down. Still, flirting is pretty hard for her. 4/10, she's still trying her best.

Thinking about Dazai saying Oda wouldn't have abandoned Akutagawa in the anime and how he said it in past tense like Dazai was already planning to distance himself from Akutagawa before he even left the mafia.
I know the wording is slightly different in the light novel, but the sentiment's the same. That speech wasn't Dazai calling Akutagawa useless but himself an inadequate mentor. He knew Akutagawa could go further but he's not the one who could get him there. He praises him so highly to Oda. Dazai knows the one who failed in their time together is himself and not Akutagawa.
Dazai had already given up as his mentor, but Akutagawa can't accept that. In that speech Dazai as good as says "I'm not right for you, all I know is how to hurt you." But Akutagawa only hears Dazai praising another person over him and he can't take it. He can only hear Dazai's cruelty and not his guilt, because all Dazai taught him with was cruelty.
Thinking about how even if Dazai apologised like people want him too, it probably wouldn't be enough. That's not what Akutagawa wants, if Dazai says sorry, he'd most likely just hear that he's been called weak again, because Dazai felt he had to apologise. Acknowledging his strength isn't what Akutagawa actually wants either, because Dazai has in canon acknowledged him, after the guild arc. Acknowledgement is how Akutagawa justifies his dependency on Dazai which is why he needs to hear it more than once. It's how he justifies pinning his rage on Atsushi even though it's not his fault. Dazai saying he's strong wouldn't actually fix anything, because Akutagawa will always need more, unless he deals with his issues.
Their relationship is so complicated and I don't think realistically the way to healing is Akutagawa being around Dazai. It's learning to be without him and Dazai's apology and acknowledgement should only come after that because otherwise it'd just set Akutagawa back again. The way Dazai currently treats Akutagawa is awful and he shouldn't be doing it, but I don't think there's actually any way he could behave to him right now that would help him. Be distant and he hurts him, be kind and Dazai encourages the dependent behaviours. The best thing is for him to not be present in Akutagawa's life.
At the end of the day, the only one who can truly help Akutagawa is himself, by moving on from Dazai and finding something else to keep him fulfilled.

words; 1.2k
a/n; please send me ur requests!!❣️
Tumblr media
You and Lewis had finally decided to attend the Met Gala together this year for the first time as an official couple. However, if only you knew how things would eventually turn out, you’d never to do that.
You'd hoped for a nice evening, getting to know new people, socializing and in general having the time of your life with your boyfriend. Nonetheless, as a result of you being a well-known actress- and one of the most beautiful out there- you tended to attract too much attention on you.
So, when one of your co-stars from your new movie started acting a little friendlier with you, Lewis saw red. You noticed how quickly his behaviour changed, from being out going and relaxed – to being moody and restraint. You thought that he was acting childish, so you decide against paying him any mind, but that infuriated him even more, resulting in you being more than annoyed because of him.
Undoubtedly, it was expected once you walked in your house, that he’d start throwing fits at you.
“Lewis, seriously relax” you rolled your eyes as you made your way to your bedroom to change.
“Relax? You just fucking asked me to relax? No y/n, I won’t relax because you know why huh?” he looked at you while pointing his finger towards you “because today you acted like a total brat, knowing already that whatever you were doing was bothering me, you decided against changing your behaviour and continued on flirting with that asshole.”
At that point you’ve had enough.
“I acted like a fucking brat? Me? You're unbelievable Lewis. You have no right to tell me how to behave. I was being friendly towards him, we were playing in a goddamn movie together for six whole months, did you ever think that if I really wanted him like that, I wouldn’t already have done something back then, when I was alone with him?” you yelled at him.
“I don’t know that...” his posture stiffened.
“Excuse me?” you asked shocked.
“I don’t know that nothing happened between you two while I wasn’t around. As you said, it was easier back then and considering the way you both were acting tonight, I don't exactly doubt that.” he told you and you felt your heart breaking into millions of pieces.
“You really think that low of me? You really think that I would do something like that to you? Even after the millions of times I've told you how much I love you?” you said while biting your lower lip as tears started rolling down on your cheeks.
“y/n...” his face took a sad expression.
“no” you lifted your hand stopping him “I don’t wanna hear anything. What you said is really serious Lewis, because now I know that you don’t trust me.” you tried to wipe your tears, but new where constantly falling down.
“Baby I'm sor--” you cut him off.
“No Lewis, you don’t get to offend me like that and then say you’re sorry. Fuck your sorry! I need some time off” you finally said while sniffling your nose.
“What?” Lewis exclaimed in a whisper.
“I need space Lewis, I'll go to y/f/n’s tonight.” you told him and went to your bathroom to change.
“y/n, please, don’t leave. I’m really sorry. Jealousy took over me and I know that doesn’t justify what I said to you, but it was in the heat of the moment, none of that meant anything. I didn’t mean anything I said baby. Please baby, don’t go.” you heard him silently crying on the other side of the door.
Your heart was breaking even more at the sound of his sobs, but you couldn’t let him manipulate you. You couldn’t make him feel as if he had the upper hand. As you exited the bathroom, you paid no attention to him and grabbed your things, trying to make your way to the garage, while Lewis was hot on your heels.
“y/n please” was the last thing you heard him saying as you started your car engine and left.
One week had gone by and you were missing Lewis more than anything else. He hadn’t stopped calling you or texting you. He even turned up to your friend’s house, so you decided to go and stay at a hotel instead. You knew that he was worried about you, yet you couldn’t bring yourself to talk to him, until...
You eventually needed to go back to your shared home to grab some of your things. So, you picked a time that you knew he would be gone, more likely during his morning ran, to go and pick up your things.
However, you were wrong.
Once you entered your house, you so Lewis sleeping on the couch with plenty of heavy- alcohol bottles scattered all over the place. What made your blood run cold in your veins, though, was that you noticed Lewis’ bear chest not moving.
Immediately, tears started rolling down on your cheeks and you dropped your keys on the floor as you run up to him, kneeling besides him.
“Lewis” you exclaimed his name between sobs as you grabbed both his cheeks, feeling how cold his face was.
The worst thoughts made their way into your mind and you started sobbing uncontrollably while on the same hand, you couldn’t stop muttering out his name.
“Plea...” your voice got caught in your throat as you begun having a panic attack.
Lewis was not responding to you; his whole body was cold and you couldn’t feel his pulse as your hands were trembling way too much. You felt like you couldn’t breathe and your vision couldn’t stay focused.
In your despair, however, you didn’t notice the two strong arms that wrapped themselves around your body as you were kneeled on the floor.
“y/n...” you heard someone say, but your ears were buzzing too much.
“Baby... breath, please” you heard his angelic voice in your ear as a soft kiss was placed on top of your head.
“Lew... Lew” you cried out.
“it’s me baby, shh, I'm here, everything’s going to be okay” he tightened his grip around you.
“you’re not... dead” you said between sobs.
“What?” he exclaimed shocked “of course not baby.” he placed one of his palms on your cheek lifting slowly your head.
“you’re so cold” you said.
“I slept with the window open baby.” he smiled down at you as he pointed towards the open window.
“Really?” you asked in a weak voice.
“Really baby. I'm sorry if I scared you, but I'm alive, I promise” he chuckled lightly.
“Fuck you Lewis” you exclaimed in a high-pitched voice and jumped on top of him as you started hitting his chest.
“Hey hey” you heard him laughing resulting in you starting to laugh too.
“you’re an asshole Lewis” you said as you leaned down, your face inches away from his.
“I know” he bit on his bottom lip.
“But I love you so much” you whispered.
“I love you too baby... please forgive me” he pleaded.
“of course” you breathed out with a smile and grabbed both his cheeks with your hands, finally connecting your lips with his.

I just reread cos i sort of felt annoyed at weasley brothers esp. Twins ( I know they are very beloved in fandom but I found their lack of common sense annoying sometimes) Do you think in cos weasley brothers were sort of neglectful? I can understand ron he is only one year older & has his own insecurities but fred and George were 14 & percy was 16. I am not saying its their fault but still. I am older sis myself I just can't imagine not noticing ( god forbid) my younger sibling going something like this. Maybe it's a brother thing to be like this. Anyways sorry for long rant, please share your thoughts.
I totally understand your point of view because I'm an older sister too, and there would have been no way in hell I would have missed something like this about my younger sibling. Though I have to say, Percy at least understands there's something wrong and we also know Ginny at eleven is a very practised liar that doesn't like to ask for help and doesn't have much faith in her family being in her corner (the Quidditch training in secret is such a perfect back story for the diary).
I think when the Weasley brothers really fail is after Ginny's first year.
A lot of people seem to believe that the worst things Ron did were not believing Harry in GoF or the Horcrux thing but I completely disagree. Those things are frankly very minor all considered and influenced by a lot of circumstantial reasons. The one thing that really always kind of stuck with me that was really shitty of Ron was when he shoves away Ginny at the start of PoA. Your sister has been possessed for a whole year by a dark lord fundamentally because she grew up very sheltered and all her brothers decided to ignore her while an evil dark object amplified all her insecurities and the year after you decide to behave with her in the same exact way?
And I get that Ron is jealous of his friendships due to his insecurities but there's a limit to what is justifiable (he grows out of it at least so kudos for that).
And then after the dementor's attack, it's not even Ron who takes care of her while she trembles.
And of course, the fact that Ginny searches for Ron even after he sent her away tells you something about the other brothers (maybe Percy had prefect things to do so he might be excused, but why wasn't she with the twins?).
But after all, it's one of the big themes of Ginny's story: she doesn't have anyone in her corner but herself.
Ginny starts the story victim of unimaginable horrors because of her loneliness but she becomes someone whose greatest strength is her ability to stand on her own (the girl is a rock) and who takes care of the people forgotten by everybody else. She once was the injured girl on the floor of the Chamber and she becomes the one who takes care of the injured girl on the grounds (soon after her brother died I might add).
[note: it's also a full circle moment for Harry and Ginny because, in the scene in DH, Harry is projecting on the injured girl]

Akane confirmed my words. Aoi always tries to be nice to nene and comfort her about her worries and help her best like she can. nene is naive, stupid, very trusting and shows her worries, doesn't hide them and also talks about them easily, which could have caused Aoi to allow her to be 'friends' with her, but in reality she is not trusting towards her

She doesn't decide to tell her about her hand which her 'best friend' is responsible for. This means that instead of telling her, she hides it from her like her real personality and doesn't tell her anything. Her excuse is that she needs to focus on her own problems. BS. It was her duty to tell her, but of course she can't be responsible for anything in this manga even if she is the one causing trouble with her own wishes and words.
Even if she saved her, so what. Aoi apologized to her, but she didn't apologize to her. The word sorry won't come out of yahsiro's mouth on its own, someone else always has to point her out by showing her that she's behaving badly, but it doesn't change anything when someone reprimands her because she does the same in some chapters. There is no problem, it's true that yahsiro hugged her when she saw her out of happiness. She doesn't feel responsible for anything, even if she knows it's because of her, because as she said, "I didn't do anything wrong" but how can I expect an apology from a person who considers herself innocent of her actions when she knows it is his fault?
Once again, yahsiro's deed justifying by Aoi this time, to confirm to her that she is innocent and needs to focus on herself, this is to give her another pass to show and tell that she is 'innocent' and poorer than Aoi. BS. She should knows this. This also shows that Aoi still doesn't trust her.
yashiro didn't even notice that there was something wrong with her friend's hand. Her first words after seeing and hugging her sounded like this

I could be wrong, yahsiro gives me the vibe that she wouldn't accept the real Aoi, just the nice side of her personality that she always shows. It's just sad how yashiro said that instead of asking or saying "I'm glad you're okay/Are you okay?" these words didn't come to her mind, the only thing that came to her mind was that the Aoi she knew was back. I understand that she is happy Aoi isn't under spell no.6, but when she said this words I have a strange feeling that yashiro wouldn't accept the real her, it gives me this vibe, and even during their conversation, yashiro never once asked if everything was okay with her. She thinks that since she saved Aoi and she looks healthy and as if nothing was wrong with her, it's fine for yashiro.
I also understand that best friends can keep secrets from each other and that's fine, but even if nene's secrets came to light and her strange behavior. Aoi still doesn't trust her and pretends to be nice, not even deciding to tell her about the problem with her hand.
This only shows that there is still the same gap between them and nothing has changed.
I think that both girls like each other, but they are not as close as yashiro claims. yashiro doesn't know her true self and doesn't look like the person to ask about Aoi's problems, which she constantly confirms by focusing only on herself all the time in the manga, but Aoi doesn't trust her either. This trust is still not there in Aoi for yashiro.
In my opinion, their friendship is an illusion. They both have a bond, but this bond is weak. fragile and bond's not strong enough to call them both 'best friends'. I think that Aoi needs to work on herself in terms of trust, because I understand that she has problems with it, I don't expect anything from yashiro anymore because I don't have to do it,I don't have to expect anything from the always innocent yashiro nene, because she will always be justified in some way by the situation or character even if she's the cause of it. I also don't expect Aoi to start trusting her because AidaIro may not change anything.
P.S: I think their friendship, although weak, has potential, but I think AR is wasting it
