Heres my first serious 2D Animation. I posted this in stardew valley discord, but I thought I should share it on tumblr too. It took like 7-8 hours to draw, because this is not my artstyle at all. This is how I imagine the prismatic shard transforms into the Galaxy sword.

ever notice that people in stardew valley stop to watch you when you start reeling in a fish? i know its essentially just the game pausing while you play the fishing minigame but i do like thinking that,, even if the minigame kicks my ass at least they get some joy out of it. the dudes who usually end up stuck watching me struggle are kent willy and clint also shane passing by before and after work because i tend to fish around their usual haunts and right outside their houses so they get stuck watching struggle with fish 2 or 3 times everytime. watching me fight for my life against some of these fish. i think if you had a lot of hearts with them theyd try to help

I once imagined that when I failed to catch a catfish and the fish went off the hook (it's just fucking hard to catch these fish at the beginning of the game), for some reason I thought of a scene where the Farmer accidentally falls into the river because the fish were stronger and dragged them into the water, and people passing by would react to this with buble. Most would have worried about Farmer. Some would have laughed it off (Pam and probably Shane).

But the idea of having passing residents help the Farmer get the fish out (or at least give them moral support) would be a really nice idea! But, well, some would actually help and some would make it worse for a Farmer, lol.

SDV bachelorettes with a clingy Farmer:

Penny:

Penny loves the hugs and kisses and all the attention Farmer's give her on a daily basis. But she isn't much of a PDA fan herself.

She's just quite shy, and considers those moments private.

It can be confusing to Penny at times if Farmer is a little jealous of her with the other bachelor/bachelorettes. It's not like she's done anything to make them think that, right?

She always likes it when they put her in a tight hug and twirl her around.

She never refuses the Farmer's attention. Never.

When she cooks dinner - kisses. When she read book - hugs and kisses. The young teacher can't resist Farmer's puppy eyes when they want attention.

Maru:

Maru adores her spouse, but can't spare much time for them while she works at the Clinic with patients.

No matter how much the Farmer looks at her with sad eyes, the inventor will stand her ground.

An exchange of words and a quick kiss is welcome, but Maru is a responsible person while she's in Harvey's clinic.

This also applies to hugs when Maru is holding a dangerous chemical/electronic device. The Farmer's safety and hers is paramount.

And afterwards - they can get their hug with kisses! Maru loves it both at home and in public. The daily hug in the morning is probably her favourite.

She is not overwhelmed by the fact that the farmer is clingy, since she miss them when they both working.

Haley:

Naturally, Haley loves attention to herself, and she also pays attention to her dear Farmer. But sometimes she wants some space.

No offence to Farmer, it's just that at some times she only wants time to herself, like how to give herself a manicure or do a bit of internet shopping.

At the very least, to surprise Farmer and order something really nice for them. Some kind of memorable gift or sweets they love.

But how can Hayley do that if Farmer is trying to pry and wants attention and hugs?

*Sigh* Life is unfair...

But she can't help it - the blonde loves Farmer and she cannot resist their puppy dog eyes.

Emily:

Emily never tires of Farmer. Their aura is always so positive and energetic!

She loves her partner's attention and gives them the same amount of attention.

It's a joy for her to see them both doing something together, whether it's sewing a new skirt or just relaxing at home.

Physical contact is everything to Emily, so is always delighted when her partner wraps her in a hug.

Kisses everyday! Kisses everyday! This is their little ritual that charges them in a positive way.

I wouldn't call Emily herself clingy, but she definitely doesn't miss an opportunity to spend time with Farmer.

Abigail:

Abigail can behave differently with Farmer on different days.

Some moments, she's just as clingy as Farmer, and will stick to her partner like glue. Other times, she'd like some "me" time.

Usually that "me" time is her attempts to complete a level in Journey of the Prairie King.

Farmer is already hugging her and demanding her full attention. After which Abigail loses the level. *Game rage mode activated*

Abigail will knock Farmer (lightly) on the floor and start tickling them mercilessly since they "demanded her attention so much."

It's pretty rare that she might snap back if the Farmer is too clingy, but if this happens Abby is quick to apologise for her behaviour.

Leah:

Leah often spent a lot of time alone in her life, enjoying nature and looking for inspiration for her paintings.

And it's not that she didn't enjoy spending time with Farmer, not at all. But sometimes she could be... overwhelmed by the excessive attention.

It's like they're afraid she'll leave them. Which is completely untrue.

Leah brings this up with Farmer to explain her point and reassure him that she is not bored with Farmer. She loves them endlessly.

They just need to find a compromise together.

Farmer, of course, huffs, but agrees. After all, Leah has always been honest with them.

The two of them will be fine, and Leah will never forget to kiss Farmer almost every day and tell him that they are her happiness.

another request could you do jio and flor again with a farmer s/o that's like a mad scientist as well? they do extreme experiments with their crops and make their own fertilizers with unheard of ingredients and are always wearing a labcoat with some random stained graphic tee and super messy hair with safety goggles? and if it's not too much to ask, could there be like a small part where they react to the farmers hands? like lets say they have a lot of chemical burns from what they do so they always wearing gloves to hide them but one day they just take them off without really thinking about it and forgetting about the scars briefly? Flor:

Flor could have sworn she'd heard Lenny right - there was a new farmer coming to Pelican Town, wasn't there? Just from the look of them (and the smell of something burning), they didn't look like someone who'd come here specifically to grow crops. The red-haired girl doesn't usually judge people by their appearance, but then again, farmers don't wear lab coats. Flor thought they were Mr Aguar's new assistant/apprentice. But apparently not.

She saw the Farmer's scars quite by accident as they took off their old gloves outside to change into new ones. The short scream of horror was loud enough to get the attention of the people nearby (but not Farmer themself), and Flor pretended to be scared of a squirrel or something. So many chemical burns... Don't they really follow safety regulations? But it wouldn't be nice to ask them directly like that.... While Farmer was busy creating a new super-fertiliser, Flor couldn't get the sight of their scars out of her mind. She might go to Paula's and ask for some burn cream for Farmer. Although Flor doesn't know how to gently bring it to Farmer...

Jio:

Always noisy, always attracting unnecessary attention of the locals, always in an old lab coat, which is stained with stains of unknown origin, always with those strange goggles.... Farmer's presence alone irritates Jio, and it would be fine if this weirdo left him alone. But noooo, they just need to give away the elf's location with their loud stories about their next invention of a 'perfect' watering can or new ultra incredible fertiliser. How many times does Jio have to be rude for them to leave him alone! His Lady seems to trust them, but has she been blinded by the fact that this is the grandchild of her long-time friend? Could this be another of Gabriella's spies? Why isn't anyone listening to him!?

Jio first saw Farmer's hands, covered with multiple burns, when they decided to take off their gloves and touch the calm surface of the lake water. The elf was hiding not far from them, and his eyes widened in surprise. He doesn't know if these burns are for carelessness in their experiments that they blabber on and on about, or if they are burn marks from the fallen slimes they had to fight earlier. Jio doesn't know how to react to this. Maybe, if by some crazy coincidence they become friends, he'll ask how Farmer got so many burns. But for now, the silent elf will be as cautious as ever and keep his thoughts to himself.

The fact that you can find the Monster Compendium while killing monsters is interesting

It means someone at some point in the past decided to go on an expedition in the caves to identify what monsters that lived there and got killed. And the monsters then stole the book.

It could have been someone with an interest in monsters but without much fighting abilities that underestimated just how dangerous the mine is, someone like Victor for example (without the self-preservation instincts). Probably lots of 'tourists' got killed down there over the years, which is why you can also find sneakers while spelunking.

Or it could have been an unfortunate adventurer, one of the first monster hunters that tried to make the valley safe enough for Pelican Town to be created, that simply wanted to figure out what creatures they had to deal with. Either way, it's basically a piece of the local history that tells an exiting tale of how humans and monsters interact.

And the fact that the farmer benefits from finding the book also means that they know jack shit about the monsters they are killing. An encyclopedia of monsters can only have the most basic facts in it, stuff that an actual adventurer should already know and probably the first things they learn before starting their career, yet it's all new information for the farmer. Btw we're talking here about the best monster hunter in Ferngill Republic, by far (poor Isaac).

(No, but seriously. Imagine Isaac struggling for more than an hour to kill some dangerous monster in the Badlands only for the farmer to come along, pull the book from their backpack, spend a few minutes reading through it, complain that the monster isn't in the compendium, then killing it in a few seconds)
