π»βοΈβοΈ A hot topic with my clients right now is how to stay on track over the festive period. And whilst it is not essential to do so, many (myself included), often find it easier to switch off and enjoy the festivities if they know they are still taking steps towards achieving their goals. So how can you maintain progress during busy times? In the period of time between the two photos above I; π· Went to Berlin and sampled the GlΓΌhwein at every WeihnachtsmΓ€rkte! πΊ Enjoyed a few evenings out with Mr D and a few frothy bevvies! π Attended my works Christmas night out and devoured a roast with π’ππππππ the trimmings! π Had friends over for a festive curry and even ordered starters and sides! And I still managed to stay in a deficit and get progress. How? I planned! I made sure that I stayed active by getting out for a 30-minute walk, I made sure I stayed hydrated to avoid feeling lethargic by drinking at least 2-litres of water EVERY~SINGLE~DAY and I prioritised my protein intake, to support my goals. Why? Because these are my daily non-negotiables aka the building blocks for my progress β’ I didn't track a single thing in Berlin, but I knew that by keeping the foundations of my diet strong through implementing these, I wouldn't lose any of the progress I had made. There's no pressure to maintain progress over Christmas, but if you want to, it isn't impossible β’ In fact you can use all that yummy food to fuel some festive gains! Transformation snapshot! It is a lifelong journey. The pink board is the goals of the future. The woman in the left is the past. A memory of the hurt and pain that had been overcome. I know as reach my goal in the future I will not have the body of so many athletes I admire. There are the tiger stripes and extra skin of someone that has fought and win the obesity battle! 12 weeks progress πͺπ» I've also been in my deficit for about 4 weeks now too (although full disclosure, this was taken only 2 weeks into my deficit) β’ Over the last 3-months I've been on holiday, been to a charity dinner and enjoyed meals out with Mr D. β I don't have a "goal weight" I'm just seeing what I can achieve in the run up to Christmas as my goal for this year was to be fitter, faster and stronger β’ My original plan was to do a fat loss phase before my holiday next month ... but truth be told, I'm enjoying it that much, I just want to see what I can do over the last few months of the year. I've never once felt deprived. I enjoy everything in moderation and make 'sensible' choices. Iβm doing 3 weights sessions + 1 8k run per week plus daily steps.β At the start of my deficit I started on 1750 cals daily and have now dropped to 1500 on rest days whilst maintaining 1750 on training days. It hasn't been π¦π’π΄πΊ to stay on-track with Autumn bringing those dark, dreary days β’ But equally it hasn't felt that π©π’π³π₯ either β’ It's all been about planning ahead and exercising a little self-control. 8-weeks today is Christmas Day β’ Time to stop putting off until tomorrow what you could do today! Weight Loss Back On Track
My bf & I have agreed to lose 100lbs before the end of the year. We've gotten to 70lbs (mostly his 40, because he can blink and lose a pound) and are determined to hit it by the end of the year. So I'm hoping you all will help keep me accountable for my final 22lbs. I've lost weight before but this last 20 will put me lower than I've ever been and finally into a healthy range. I'll go into my 25th year better than ever before and I'm really pumped to keep pushing forward. Feel free to let me know your own goals!
