Thank you for tagging me @elder-flower! Not sure what this is going to look like by the time I reach the end of it, but I'm gonna try and have fun along the way :D

TOP 5 WORKS - not in any particular order

Sleeves - A very self-indulgent Antwan/Keys ficlet I wrote towards the beginning of the year. I remember that, at the time, I thought I was already pretty much done writing Free Guy fic. Writing it at all had been more about getting a different fic to no longer show up under Recent Works on my ao3 dash. Then the idea for this struck me one day while rolling up the sleeves on a button down shirt I don't often wear. It was a lot of fun to write (who knew wrist touching could be so sexy??) and I'm still really proud of it, tbh.

as long as you'll have me - This Steve/Nancy ficlet was written for my pre-July Flash Bingo card. It didn't get much attention, but before season 4 aired, Stancy fic got basically none anyway (and even less when using the Dead by Daylight stuff), so that was expected. I still like it, though. It's not very long, but it has some of my favorite angst in it with Steve being sure Nancy is only kissing him because he's familiar in this strange, dangerous dimension they've ended up in. idk, I just dig it!

Don't Hurt Me - This is a Steve/Nancy ficlet that I wrote for 2021's fandomtrees, but of course it wasn't revealed until January of this year (and I think I probably actually only finished it right before reveals anyway haha). I'd been wanting to write a stancy soulmate au for @stevethehousewife and came across the idea of soulmates being unable to physically harm each other while trying to come up with ideas. I wondered how that might change the alley scene in s1 and started going from there. Again it's Stancy so it didn't get much in the way of attention, but I'm really happy with how it turned out! Plus, there can literally never be too many soulmate fics for any of my ships.

The Craziest Things Happen in Hawkins - A general (no ships), Steve-centered ficlet written for the July Break Bingo that I just really like! It doesn't really have an ending because I couldn't get to one in the time limit (and I was determined to get a BINGO before the month ended). But I don't really care about that. It has exactly what I wanted in it: protective Steve sacrificing himself so that Joyce doesn't get hurt (and so that Jonathan and Will and El don't lose someone important to them so soon after Hopper's death). I'm especially fond of Steve acting like his dad will totally pay a ransom for him when he knows it's a lie, and also knows he probably won't make it back from this. I just don't get to write protective Steve enough because I have too much fun with angsty Steve, but this was great!

Answering Your Call - My first written and published ABO fic! Of course it would be for Stranger Things and Jonathan/Steve/Nancy. I'd have it no other way. This was originally written for an event in the 30+ Fic Writers discord server I'm in (though I never added it to that collection because the people there are lovely and tend to comment on event fics even in fandoms they don't know and I didn't want anyone to feel pressured into reading it if they wouldn't have normally gravitated towards it). I've always been too intimidated by ABO stuff because there's so much of the au that squicks me, and I still have trouble articulating what I want from it myself. But I loved getting to write protective alpha Nancy and Super Growly and Protective Jonathan refusing to let omega Steve get hurt. There's that touch of angst that I love (and would make even angstier if I ever continued with it), but also some comfort and idk, it's just good stuff imo.

TOP 4 CURRENT WIPS - also in no particular order

Steve presents as an omega late (Stoncy) - A fic where Steve always secretly hoped he would present as an omega because he liked the idea that he might be wanted, might be taken care of, might be able to have children and a big family after feeling very alone in his own family. And he does eventually present as an omega, but it happens post-S4 and rather than cause any problems for everyone, he keeps it a secret. That way none of the kids feel bad about moving on after high school, and the adults won't worry about someone needing to stick around either because he's keeping an eye on things. (People do not see omegas as weak, just important and they wouldn't want him stuck with the weight alone).

The real meat of the fic won't start until after all of this, when he goes into crisis after his body starts rejecting his suppressants and Nancy and Jonathan are brought in to help him, resulting in the three of them forming a bond while he's in heat (but without the non/dub-con sex that accompanies this sort of thing usually) and him angsting about forcing them into something they couldn't have wanted (but of course the three of them having been pining for each other for YEARS).

soulmate au (Stoncy) - Siiiiiigh. The very same soulmate au I've been working on since, idk, 2019 or 2020 or something. A long ass time. But while unsuccessfully trying to get it finished for Fandom Trumps Hate this year, I ended up figuring out how to get to the ending. It's just a matter of actually writing the damn thing. There's only gonna be 3 Stoncy readers left by then, but whatever. This is still the most self-indulgent fic I've ever worked on and I love it so much. I want other people to be able to read it!!

anything (anything) for you part 2 (Stoncy) - Another wip that has been in the works for a long, long time. Two more chapters are written, but I've been stuck on Chapter 4 for over a year or something. But I've brainstormed with a couple of friends and I think I have a solid idea for where it should go. I dug myself into a bit of a hole with their relationship and it took a while to figure out how Nancy and Jonathan could possibly find out that Steve was faking his feelings for Jonathan in desperation to keep being allowed to date Nancy, without them ending things. But it should be good. Just another thing that I have to actually try to write, which is unfortunately the hardest part.

Deal with Vecna (Vecna/Steve) - A fic where, in the aftermath of hearing some harsh things about himself, Steve decides to try and trade his life for Max's because then at least he'll have done something to help. Only Vecna decides he'd rather have Steve's body than take his life. I've gotten the whole first part done, but I'm still struggling with where I want it to go and whether or not Steve should be saved.

3 BIGGEST IMPROVEMENTS

None! I may have actually gotten worse at both writing AND finishing things!! But it was a really hard year of writing for me. It's whatever!

TOP 2 RESOLUTIONS

Post at least 1 fic per month next year. This year I went through a stretch where I didn't post anything for a whole month (maybe two?) and it fucked with my mentally and emotionally. I hate it. So I would like to try and keep that from happening again!!

Be even MORE self-indulgent. If only a handful of people are gonna enjoy my stuff anyway, I might as well put everything I like into a fic without taking other people into consideration (I say knowing full well this will not happen but I can dream).

NUMBER 1 FAVORITE LINE

You don't even want to know how many fics I skimmed through to try and find any lines that worked well on their own. Not even sure how much this one does. But it stood out to me and I don't think it's too shabby.

heeey, so you keep watching the boys??? (glad you gave this show a second chance after s2 being boring af) why didn’t you write anything for the fandom tho!! there’s not enough good fics of the series and your contribution would have been priceless. // tbh i dunno what dynamics you find interesting there but when i first saw that elevator scene between starlight and homelander (he seemed so amused (and pleased?) she is the one who’s capable of spitting truth right in his face??), i thought it is right up your alley, lol

yess, i'm glad i finally got into the show! i actually liked season 2, but i binged it, so maybe my experience was different. as for ships, when it came to annie, i used to ship her with butcher, of all people; idk, i found their dynamic interesting, both of them wanting to protect hughie, butcher hating her cuz she's a supe, but also slowly learning to accept her. now that they've done butcher/maeve i'm also cool with that, but my lil heart still beats for butcher/annie for some reason! (i also love the angst of hughie/annie/butcher)

but! i do also dig the homelander/annie dynamic. especially this season with the "fake dating". i might write something for them, because they have this really interesting back and forth. i think he, at first, saw annie as a younger maeve whom he could control, sort of like getting it "right" this time, but she's pushing back more than maeve used to, so he doesn't know how to handle her atm. i will admit, i'm not that invested in them as a pair, but i'd like to explore them in a oneshot.

i'm also kind of into hughie/soldier boy, because soldier boy seems to have a weird soft spot for him? oh, and i really want to see a reunion between soldier boy and mallory because we know he's into older women and mallory feels only contempt for him which i dig lol

speaking of ur cass playlist hc...reminds of the time (yesterday) i found 2 playlists randomly on spotify from the same user. one was abt 3 hours of instrumental/classical "dark" & "nostalgic" music. the other almost 11 hours of nothing but hardcore bass/synth/electronic music. just an incredible tightrope act to put on in public. the synth one was also called like "psalms for synth sluts" which is Also incredible

Bruce and Alfred have an emergency pride flag for the batkids. Oliver Queen printed an emergency "I love my gay son" t-shirt and as soon as Roy told him he was dating Jason, Oliver started wearing that shirt everyday and Roy always cringes when he sees it. Oh boy! Not many tbh, I only really started watching it last winter when my roommate asked if I wanted to give it a try! I haven’t watched anything from any studio that did Visions (yet), but I wanna soon!

Animes I HAVE seen, in order:

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood — Aight so when roomie suggested we watch an anime, a friend who had seen a lot of them recommended this one to watch first as it was a good “starter anime”, and y’all idk if it’s just because it’s the first one I watched but I’ve still gotta call it my favorite one because y’all it’s SO FUCKING GOOD. Like that’s understatement of the century but I don’t have time to write an essay on why it’s so good lol just trust me it’s GOOD. 11/10s on EVERYTHING about it. Plot, characters, setting, everything. My one sadness is that I would not be good at writing fic for it lol.

Demon Slayer — YouTube AMVs and seeing it pop up on Netflix had us start this one next and y’all it’s probably the prettiest anime I’ve seen like ever, like the art style is chef’s kiss. Amazing story and AWESOME characters too, very good, 10/10 would recommend. I think I could write a decent fic for it if a plot ever came to me.

The Great Pretender — The only non-action/fight anime on the list, roomie and I tried it out because we figured we should see something different? It was on Netflix so we looked. It was good, clever writing, good characters got a little bit weird in the second season, particularly at the end, but overall it’s a decent watch. I could write fic for the shipping aspect but again, no plot ideas because the plot is fuckin weird.

Akame Ga Kill — Roommate had seen this before, recommended it to me. The characters were decent, setting was interesting! Pretty art style too, but I was like, verrrrry critical of the plot throughout the entire singular season lol, so take that as you will. Actually no yeah plot was kinda wack. My fave character deserved better tho.

Castlevania — Okay okay I know I know not an anime, but it’s a similar artstyle. (Also I think the game it’s based off of is a Japanese game?) Actually watched the first two seasons a while ago, but then watched the third and fourth with roommate. Y’all it’s REALLY good, literally everyone in the damn show is fucking hot and I’m jealous, I ship the throuple HARD hard. I think I could maybe write a decent fic for it if, again, I had any plot motivation lol

Trese — Again, cheating because not anime, but this one is still non-Western (Filipino) media and it’s glorious. I’ve never seen an episode of Supernatural but I feel that this show is like, what Supernatural wishes it could be. Another gorgeous artstyle and I’m so gay for the MC and the first season left me with so many questions so I really hope it gets another one! I gotta get around to reading the webcomic

D.Gray-Man — Okay this one is entirely the fault of @jasontoddiefor who got back into it and promptly dragged everyone he knew down with him, and I am so very glad he did because this is a fantastic— and I’d argue relatively underrated —series. Artstyle is gorgeous (certain characters be very hot), the character arcs are brilliant, I love all the characters, and the worldbuilding is so friggin creative, like I’d put it up there as another one of my faves. I actually did write a fic for this, but publishing a fic in an unfamiliar fandom is terrifying and bad for my anxiety and it’s gonna take me like five more years to work up the courage to do it again lol.

Sword Art Online — Currently watching right now with roommate. I heard some not very good things about it, but my roommate wanted to give it a try so I sat down and watched with them. Sure enough it’s been a case of half the time I’m flailing over the nice animation and how creative the worldbuilding is and the charm and potential all the characters have……………….. and then the other half of the time I’m banging my head against the wall repeatedly because it pulled some seriously stinky bullshit lol. So yeah watch it’s promising but also Suffer in not the good way.

Fire Force — Also currently watching! On my own this time, roommate already watched and recommended. This one is VERY good, like I am super into the plot and the setting and everything to do with the universe. Still getting into the characters and it’s taking a bit more time? So the watch is going slower than usual, but that’s alright! The entire premise makes up for it.

So that’s all the anime I’ve seen! I’ve also seen 2.5 Studio Ghibli movies and they are all JUST as good as people say they are (Kiki’s Delivery Service, Howl’s Moving Castle, and bits and pieces of Princess Mononoke) 1000/10 recommend.

You didn’t ask about the manga I’ve read but I’ll list them anyway! For the record I’m not a huge manga reader because my eyes find it hard to see the illustrations when everything is in different shades of black and white, it makes action scenes in particular really difficult to read, which is a problem when you usually like action plots

Demon Slayer — The anime isn’t complete yet and after the movie I wanted to know MORE so I hunted down the manga and binged it all. Y’ALL GOTTA READ IT IT’S STILL SO FUCKIN GOOD AND I’D DIE FOR SO MANY CHARACTERS I’M IN LOVE WITH SO MANY

My Hero Academia — Look, EVERYONE is yelling about this one and it trends like once a week and like five irl friends love it so I figured there was too much anime out but I had to know so I’d just skim the manga just to figure out what the fuck the hype was. It’s good, lol, I totally get the hype now, the strength is in the worldbuilding and a whole handful of extremely interesting yet surprisingly simple character types that work to drive the plot forward. There is so much potential here and I could definitely write fic for this but I am not touching that fandom with a ten foot pole and that’s coming from a Star Wars fan 😂

Yona of the Dawn — Currently reading this!!!! Ok so there’s a season of an anime out for this, I walked in to see my other roommate watching what was probably one of the horniest scenes in it. I was immediately like “👀👀👀👀 shit fuck that’s hot do these heteros have rights????” I was about to plop my ass down and start watching but roommate was like “oh there’s only one season and it’s unfinished and I know you don’t like unfinished stuff” so I promptly got my ass up and googled the manga so I could see more. Y’all it is GOOD, if you love the dramatic romances from Star Wars this is RIGHT up your alley and dare I say better, the plot is lovely, the characters are great, and I am SO MAD there’s only one anime season. I’d absolutely write fic for this if I was more confident, I have so many polyship ideas!!!!!!

JJ x Will. and i will FIGHT ANYONE who comes for Will Lamontagne, Jr— that man is an absolute KING who didn’t bat a damn eyelash about leaving his home and all his friends/family behind so JJ could have her dream job and be the boss ass bitch/hero that he knew she was. he was basically a stay-at-home/working dad so that JJ could be off saving lives. he was ENDLESSLY supportive of her from day one and he is just such a great fit for her. he’s a great dad to the boys, a friend to Spence even after the garbage jeid plot line in season 15, and if u couldn’t tell I am just a HARDCORE Will stan.

Penelope x Luke. i was DEVASTATED that cm didn’t make morcia canon, but I’ll talk about that in a sec. i know that garvez was a last ditch effort to appease a rabid morcia collective, but the two of them really did work so well together. Luke was good for Penelope in a completely different way from Derek. she was devastated about the emotional loss of Derek, and he gave her the space to process that while also being SO persistent (but not in a gross way) in the development of his own relationship with her.

Penelope x Derek. i mean come on. COME ON. she’s his GOD GIVEN SOLACE??????? that’s some straight up soulmate shit. we ALL KNOW that the only reason these two never got together is because Penelope was a size 14– which by the way is the average size of an American woman. they had such incredible chemistry, and the way they SUPPORTED each other was literally unparalleled. there are so many examples of this, but some of the best (besides GOD GIVEN SOLACE) are when she’s trying to be communications liaison and he brings her back to the OG PG, and when SHE COMES TO HIM AS AN ANGEL WHEN HE IS FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE?????? gtfoh sorry not sorry savannah

Spencer x Elle. um, they absolutely fucked. she was such a good fit for him and i sort of wrote them together in my first ever fic Winning is a Habit although i didn’t flesh it out (should i??? would y’all read that?). there’s nothing else to say about this really. it’s practically canon.

Spencer x Max. this one i kind of understand, but it crosses into this final category for me because, again, i found it to be so damn boring. like, i know she was meant to be his “normal” relationship but he had AT LEAST three other more interesting characters that he could have had a “normal” relationship with that they just dropped after one scene/ep. I'm pretty sure the only reason they let it get so far was because Rachael Leigh Cook was a bigger name actress? literally the most interesting thing about Max was that she liked to go by a cute nickname? what else was supposed to be interesting about her? that she thought being a teacher was a second-class career path? when she’s talking to Spencer, a literal professor and lover of teaching/knowledge? there’s a whole post about it somewhere in the fandom where they explain it much better than I have but yeah, it’s a no from me dawg.

One thing that really grinds my gears about (ginger boy who I will not name so as to not summon antis) stans is their constant refusal to admit when he messes up or is acting flawed. They love to rave about how “he’s so flawed and human and relatable”, but then ANYTIME another fan pops on and gives an example of a when (ginger) wasn’t acting his best and that bothered them, antis will attack that person and blame them for “bashing” and “misunderstanding the scenario.”

They always have some kind of excuse or they point fingers at the people around him to make him look blameless and to make it seem like anyone who is criticizing his behavior are just “looking for an excuse to bash him.” They say he’s a flawed and relatable character but never give him the CHANCE to be flawed and relatable. They let Hermione, Harry, Ginny, etc. take the fall and be wrong, but can they ever do that for (ginger)? Nope.

Here’s the thing...I LIKE him. I WANT to like him and support him and root for him! But I can’t do that if his stans insist on portraying him as this untouchable god who graces everyone with his presence everytime he’s around. The same goes for (ginger x Hermione)! I’ll occasionally find myself in their tag and see fanart for it or edits or text from the books and I’m like...oh I kinda like this? It’s not bad. Not my cup of tea, but not bad! I may even save some of it! But then I see stans opening their mouths and degrading every freaking character to make (ginger) look better and basically give him the same treatment that the early fandom gave Hermione.

Personally, I think character worship is just as bad as bashing. You pretty much erase everything about the character and turn them into this caricature of their former selves. Bashers (genuine bashers, not just people who criticize behavior) take flaws of the character and inflate them to turn the character into a much much worse version of themselves. Worshippers take flaws and suppress them until the character is basically a Mary Sue. BOTH of these things destroy a character and ruin their potential. Do I think the fandom tends to lean a bit more toward bashing for (ginger) and worshipping for Hermione? Early on, yes. But we’ve grown and learned that that isn’t always the right mindset to have. Things are starting to level out! Which is why I can’t stand seeing the scales beginning to tip again!

I went back-and-forth about posting this, tbh. I want to remind our followers that we’re not necessarily here to “vent” because there’s a fine line between venting and hating on characters/people/authors ourselves--and mostly a fine line between letting one person vent and that snowballing into people responding with their own venting which snowballs into mean things said. What this blog is supposed to be is an opportunity to discuss maybe a fanfiction you didn’t quite get, or to fancast, or to talk about why you think a main ship character should be portrayed a certain way. I don’t want to put a fine point on it because this is Dramione Discussion and so that implies an openness of subject, but I just want to make sure that we collectively understand what’s happening here.

Why I’m choosing to post it is because I think you present an interesting argument about character bashing/worship in general, so I want to reorient this discussion to point out some general things we’re seeing in the fandom (and which have been discussed on this blog lately).

I agree with you that extreme reaction to a character--whether bashing or worshipping--is going to limit the character. Additionally, part of what I like about fanfiction is that you can do that. I don’t like a Mary Sue Hermione, but some people do, I’m sure, or else she would never get written that way. What I’ve enjoyed about watching the fandom over the 18/19 years I’ve been reading fanfiction is watching us all grow. You can kind of tell when it’s a 15-yo that wrote the story--there are limits to how successful the author can be in portraying multi-dimensional characters in complex situations, because they just don’t have the experience to portray it accurately. But as we have aged and learned more about life, we’ve built a large, complex fandom with a variety of interesting stories about all kinds of things. In my youth, I could never imagine a story about Hermione and Draco being parents because that was just too far out of my understanding to relate. Nowadays, a story like The Request is right up my alley, not because I have children, but because I have friends who are widowed and have kids and are getting remarried, and that story has become more relatable. Alternatively, when I went through my last breakup, a story like The Request was too realistic for me to handle and I turned to cleotheo for something to just get me feeling normal again in much the same way others turn towards Hallmark movies. Each story/author has its own purpose for me as an individual, and I think a purpose for the fandom as a whole.

I feel that way about characters, too. As someone who studied literature in college, I’ll tell you that a story needs a villain and a tragedy needs comedic relief. Neither of those characters are likely to get much development. A good way to juxtapose this is to talk about Dumbledore and how he went from being this paternal, all-knowing, good guy, to being a very complex, and sometimes hated character by many in the HP fandom. My 13 yo self reading OotP would never have imagined that Dumbledore might be a bad guy--but we’ve created such a complex story around him as a fandom over the years that now I prefer not to read about him at all in my stories. The same can be said for Voldemort--there’s a not insignificant part of the fandom out there that finds ways to redeem him regularly in their fanfiction. That’s what’s so great about fanfiction.

I say all this to say that there’s a place for the bashers, and there’s a place for the worshippers, and if you (not you, Anon, but the public) don’t like to read it, don’t read it. I appreciate that you mentioned that there’s been some Ronmione out there you might have liked, because I think a lot of people in our ship might not branch out enough. If you love to read fanfiction bashing Ron, then fine, you probably won’t love Ronmione, but there’s no reason to seek out a Ronmione lover and tell them that. Let them read in peace. Additionally, they (Ronmione authors) are going to write stories where Draco is weasel ferret, and we know there’s some canon in the book to back that up, and if they want to read Draco-bashing fanfiction, let them.

Writing about these not-real characters is a great way to reflect on our society. I’ve mentioned before that I’m, personally, not a fan of POC Hermione because I think the muggleborn aspect serves the purpose of reflecting racial bigotry we see in modern society without being on-the-nose. Additionally, hero-worship and character-bashing in fanfiction can reflect ideals or wrongs, respectively, that we see in the world onto certain characters. I think that allowing someone to read/write in peace is a great way to start extending compassion and individuality past your personal life into your social one.

I would love to hear what your overall thoughts were on Snk if you don't mind sharing since I literally don't know what to really think of it and I don't really know of any blogs in Snk fandom. and I love your BNHA takes so much. I'm extremely attached to the characters in Bnha especially Touya, Shoto, main villian trio and the main heroes. Bnha has always gave me the feeling from the beginning that its going to have a happy and optimistic ending. I grew more attached to it for that reason.

Ask #2: I just started watching SnK a couple of months ago and I'm now on season 4 (now I've already seen the ending before I even started watching it.) I decided to watch because my bf has been watching the show for years now and I wanted to catch up with him. Before I started watching it I was aware that its not a light-hearted or happy show. Characters literally die left from right. I didn't really form a connection with the characters for that reason since I went into the show with that mindset.

Part 2. From the very beginning of Snk I already had the feeling it won't have a happy ending or satisfying ending for some fans. I asked my bf and he said (SPOILERS) that he can already see Eren dying at the end. For me I feel very neutral about the ending I literally have no opinion at all because I already seen the ending before starting the show and I have really no idea how I'm really supposed to feel about the ending. I never really look at Snk blogs since I'm not really that attached.

Two different asks, answering together to avoid the risk of getting more SnK asks because I truly don't have much more to say than what I'm about to.

I can direct you to a few blogs that talked about SnK, but I've seen said blogs get extremely hateful comments in their inboxes so I'll refrain from tagging them.

But anyway--I don't have any meta thoughts on SnK.

I can say that I truly enjoyed the ending and I don't feel that it could have ended any better. If the author was going to make the main character the final boss, then this was the best ending we could have asked for. If the author was not going to make the main character the final boss, well, there's no point in discussing it since he didn't take that route.

TBH all I really want to know is.....what...ending....did these people... want?

So, I can understand some people being upset that Eren was made the final boss, but there was...a ton of set up for that well before the manga ended. People had time to jump ship well before the ending came out. But regardless, I get it. If people aren't used to tragedy stories, then I can understand feeling hurt. But also, as the second anon said--SnK sets the tone from the FIRST. FUCKING. CHAPTER.

What does it tell us?

NOBODY is safe. ANYBODY can go at any time. Protagonist armor existed for a little bit, but it wasn't going to last forever, because Eren wasn't the kind of main character that had Main Character Syndrome™️. He isn't Izuku Midoriya, who is supposed to end up as this hero that redefines the meaning of the word. No, Eren was never that.

I started SnK when I was a senior in high school, in 2015, and then I got distracted from that and didn't watch or read it for YEARS. I only JUST picked it up in February and finished it off when the manga ended. So for me, my attachment I had to any of the characters had kind of disappeared. I didn't want Levi, Mikasa, Armin, or Annie to die, but I wasn't super attached to any of the other characters.

As for the ending--honestly. I only bitched about peoples' commentary earlier because someone reblogged a post of mine that talked about "series that betrayed their readers", and they put "snk" in the tags, and that irritated me.

I honestly don't know how else it would have ended besides the main character obliterating the entire earth. Like I don't know what people were wanting. That would have been a shit ending, how would that have been satisfying for anybody?

No, I think the ending where MOST of the main cast survived and got to live long lives was the best it could have ever been given the type of story it was.

As the second anon said, it was never going to be "happy", although imo, SnK ended as "happy" as it could have.

BNHA is definitely a happy ending type of story. It's not set up for horrible tragedy, and if Hori did for some reason shift gears and go that way (he won't) it would ruin the entire story and everything it's told us so far.

Suffice to say, SnK isn't really my type of story. I only finished it because I started it in high school, and had seen it was coming to an end so figured what the hay, might as well finish what I started. BNHA is way more up my alley. I'm avoiding stuff like JJK and anything that's grim dark and edgy for the sake of being....like that. It's just not for me, and I'm not in a spot to read stuff like that right now.

A/N: I had this idea at literally 5 AM last night lmao. Basically I love Alphonse with my whole heart, and tbh I’m pretty sure he’d develop a huge guilt/hero complex after everything he went through.

I’m still new to this fandom, though, so I apologize if anyone is OOC. Hope you enjoy it!

(There might be some medical inaccuracies here though.)

Alphonse can barely register anything at this point.

He’s running after the man pulling a little girl with him. Al’s legs move in spite of the unbearable, bleeding pain in his abdomen. The boy pushes past people who are barely interested in what’s happening.

Al screams after the man. The little girl is crying and trying to escape, but the man refuses to let her go. Al runs, but his body won’t resist for too long; he knows it, but he doesn’t stop.

His head is dizzy and heavy, and everything around him darkens. Al yells again, only it’s weakened. His legs don’t cooperate with him any longer and he almost trips, if not for the wall beside him. Al is panting, as sweat drops roll down his head. The man and the little girl are almost disappearing from his vision.

No, don’t stop! Go after them, you idiot!

His willpower isn’t enough to force his body to move. Al is soon on the ground, blood dripping on the pale sidewalk. People are whispering around him. They don’t approach.

All the boy hears, though, is the weight of his failure.

It’s what eventually makes him collapse.

The headache from the blazing light forces his eyes to open.

Then Al is, once again, in a hospital room. Except it’s a lot smaller, considering he’s not in the Central anymore. It might be the closest first aid post in his hometown, if he’s not mistaken.

The doctor speaks to him, explaining Al was stabbed, but that it’s not a huge cause of concern. He hasn’t lost too much blood, though it might hurt every now and then, so Al only needs to rest and not move a lot – specifically not run while with a stab wound, he lightly scolds.

Since Al is quite well-known from his time as an alchemist with Ed, the doctor doesn’t ask him who he is and tells him that they called his brother just now. Ed should be arriving soon.

Al nods again. He doesn’t say anything at all.

The doctor leaves him be, the room as quiet as the patient inside. Al’s hand reaches his bandaged stomach, lightly touching the cloth. Al doesn’t mind the pain from the wound. Not as much as the little girl’s horrified look is ingrained in his brain.

Al recalls what happened. He was doing groceries on his own – aside from wanting to take a walk in town, to breathe the air and feel the soft breeze. He would then go back home and have lunch with his brother and Granny Pinako, while Winry is back in Rush Valley. Al has been walking well as of late, so Ed wasn’t too insistent to come along.

It wasn’t supposed to go this wrong.

On the way, Al heard a little girl crying in an alley. She was so scared, and he tried to talk to her. Like that, the punch right to his face was really far from expected.

As it turned out, it was a middle-aged man that had assaulted him, and he grabbed the little girl’s arm with force. She was crying louder. He’s not sure now if he was her father, but it was still definitely infuriating.

Despite the pain, Al demanded he left her alone – and it only enraged the man more when he saw his face. Apparently, he’d once been under the military, and King Bradley’s fall disbanded many soldiers and officers. He also knew who Al was, so he despised him for “meddling in things that were none of his business”.

Al is no stranger to a fight, obviously. The problem is, he’s not a suit of armor anymore. That shouldn’t be a problem, of course, because he’s glad to be human again.

But being a human doesn’t absolve him of the hard and heartless punches he got, nor did it defend him from a stab right through his stomach. And worse, it was far from helpful to save the little girl.

And then Al was running after them, screaming, struggling to reach out to the small girl. He knew she was in danger, and he couldn’t let the man get away with her.

But Al is no longer immortal. He has no infinite stamina, and his body cannot take the same blows he did in the past. So, the stab wound was enough to knock him down. He couldn’t do anything to save her.

All he could do now, is to be stuck here hearing her cry from afar.

Al’s hands clutch the hospital clothes, inhaling and shutting his eyes fiercely.

…

Though, not going to lie, the loud running steps and a door opening wide do alarm him. But he’s quick to realize that his brother has arrived.

“Al!” Ed yells, rushing to his bed. “Al, are you okay?!”

“I’m fine, brother,” Al replies numbly. “It’s nothing to be concerned about. The doctor said I just need to rest for a while before I can go home.”

Ed exhales. “Holy shit, Al,” he curses under his breath, clutching one of his blond bangs with his hand. “Care to tell me what the hell happened?”

Al doesn’t face him. He doesn’t think he can.

“Al,” Ed insists, clearly impatient, “they told me you ran after the guy while you were losing blood. Do you have any idea how reckless that was?!”

“As if you can tell me off for being reckless,” Al mumbles.

Obviously, it annoys Ed even more. “This is different, Alphonse! You’re not immortal anymore! You’re not invincible and you could actually die with no going back!”

“You think I don’t know that?” Al raises his voice.

“Then WHY did you do it?!”

Al has had it. “Because I needed to save the little girl, Ed!”

Ed is thrown off by the sincere, frustrated statement. “Little girl?” He asks, not sounding as angry as before.

“The man, he”— Al swallows a lump —“he had this little girl with him… I found her in an alley, and she was terrified. I wanted to help her but then he hit me. And when he realized who I was, he punched me and stabbed me; and then he ran away with her.”

The girl’s face is in his memory, her eyes wide, hurt, scared. His arms shake.

“All I could think, was that I had to save her,” Al explains. “I-I had to, Ed. B-But I couldn’t protect her. I collapsed and he got away.”

His brother’s presence is no longer loud. Ed’s expression is sympathetic and sorrowful. Al lowers his head, shame weighing onto him.

Ed approaches him and puts both hands on Al’s shoulders. “Oh, Al… I’m so sorry.”

Al can’t help but flinch at the metal touching his skin. Ed’s automail is cold and hard against his fragile human body. Ed couldn’t quite get his body parts back, but it’s something he doesn’t mind.

Al refuses to look up still.

“Brother,” Al opens his mouth before realizing. “Please don’t take this the wrong way. I am more than grateful for getting my body back, and I would never reverse it. But…” The sniff that comes from him sounds child-like. “I know people are still out there to hurt others. To hurt us. But how can I protect them? H-How…” he hiccups, “h-how will I protect you, when I’m this useless?”

Ed’s hands still. “Alphonse…”

Al hides his face, unable to deal with this shame. He’s really useless to others. He can’t do anything, because he’ll definitely die, and people will get hurt because of him.

He knows everything is an exchange. Al might not be an alchemist anymore, but life is still based around it. In order to get his body back, Al gave up his immortality to grow up with his brother and his friends. He gave it up so he could be able to hug Ed again. So he could sleep and eat, and breathe. But when Al needs that strength again, he does not have it. He cannot save others. Like he couldn’t save a girl right in front of him.

What if people go after his family? What if they get to his brother? What will Al do?

Al’s endless guilt is quieted a little, however, once he’s pulled in a hug, his head lying against Ed’s chest. His older brother holds him tight around his shoulders, whilst he smooths Al’s short, blond hair.

“Al,” Ed speaks to him softly but firmly, “you’re the strongest person I know – with or without the armor. But you don’t need to risk your life to save us like you did before.”

“But she needed help, Ed,” Al sobs, “s-she needed…”

Ed sighs and hugs him closer. “I know. I’m sorry.”

They don’t let go for maybe an eternity. It takes a few more hours before Al is free to go. He can walk just fine, but he can’t run for his life again. In the meanwhile, Ed has his arm around the younger’s shoulders, watching everyone passing by like a hawk.

Al is far from feeling better. He doesn’t think he’ll recover from it, even if his brother might be right. At least Ed welcomes his grief, as they still think of past lives they lost in their journey.

The younger Elric remains silent. Ed doesn’t try to make him talk. He does get to reassure him with his presence and soft words.

“I’m going to take care of you now, okay?” Ed tells him. “You don’t need to fight anymore.”

Although Al is around the same height as Ed, he feels small as he hides his face in his older brother’s shoulder, like a child seeking for protection. His lip quivers and the tears fall silently. It might seem a little pathetic, but Al doesn’t pull his face away; and Ed squeezes him as well, kissing the top of his head.

This isn’t a lov one but it’s really funny so I thought I’d put it out there:

-when bnha was first gaining traction on tumblr, it was all art of Tsuyu. I have no idea why. People were talking about the funky frog lesbian superhero anime. Maybe it was just the people I was following, maybe it was a general trend, but I LOVED her design!!! my fav color and frogs r super cute!!! And I already loved superhero media, so I was like. I’ll watch it. For Her. SO. FROPPY IS THE REASON I WATCHED/READ BNHA. I went in thinking she was the protag and I was sooo confused when Izuku was... tbh I still think it’d be more interesting if she was lmaooo aus where? ...seriously if anyone has good aus where this is the case send them LOL

-I don’t actually feel that bad abt what Shigaraki’s doing. I still feel bad for him. I’m this post. yes im an apologist. its not my fault hes sexy and has been running around shirtless. hes a lesbian icon like thor is. I want to touch his hair. hes never done anything wrong in his life. he could kill all might, deku, bakugo, whatever, I’d still be sayin this. I don’t feel bad for gt. like. was anyone genuinely attached to him? lmao

-well u know how spinner’s quirk is just sticking to things? We haven’t seen him use it in canon except like, (1) time iirc?? I think this is probably bc he’s embarrassed about it even in front of the league... I loooove the idea that he gets more comfortable with it around them :”) and also how shigaraki. um. does that falling asleep thing while standing up with his eyes open, canonly? (which I still love lmfao) Imagine someone in the league walking in a dark room, turning on the light n just seeing. Spinner upside down, stuck to the ceiling asleep bc heat rises and its Warmer Up There. (cold blooded thing like tsuyu?? come ON give him a big fuzzy coat and scarf...) and Shigaraki in the center of the room, slouched but still standing, eyes open and motionless. Theyre both sleeping. Whomever sees it just...slowly walks out. LMAO

-Toga roller derby au. No deep thoughts I just think she’d be good at it.

-Toga 100% is a social butterfly and could befriend anyone if they didn’t just judge the fact she was trying to stab them smh :/ (ok but seriously anytime I see cute friendships with her n the other kids im like :) aw. I feel like her and Camie...would be good friends. Camie feels chill enough to be like ‘ok whatever thats totally fine I forgive you!!’ LMAO we love airheads here)

-HOW DID TOGA GET SO GOOD AT FIGHTING? We know she’s been on the run since middle school or so, but good enough to pin Deku down after he’s been formally trained at a ~hero school~ for a while? (she pinned him TWICE I think, once when his arms were messed up, but, the other time as Camie, so? AND THEN WAS ONE OF THE 100 PEOPLE TO GO THRU TO THE 2ND ROUND OF THAT? even tho she didn’t bc she had to leave) good enough to beat Aizawa in a fight and stab him? A professional hero and teacher for YEARS? Is that seriously just street training??? Can people acknowledge how amazing her combat skills and reflexes are??? More Toga appreciation when?? Also her backstory??? SO subversive and incredible, hate when people reduce her to just a ~typical anime yandere~ :/

-Tomura doing stuff with his hands/fingers to train his quirk!!! And to learn to be careful with it!! obv I’m a Big Fan of him playing piano to do this and video games are prob the canon answer, but like, guitar or any stringed instrument that requires Hands would work too. Or knitting/sewing? EMBROIDERING? ??? Please, let me give you the mental image of him knitting aggressively while mentally scheming, watching a twitch streamer or smth too while doing it. (Doing stuff with your hands is a great way to let your mind come up with creative stuff, that’s how I come up with writing/drawing ideas 70% of the time)

-Tomura actually PREFERS cutesty, relaxing games. I mean, he does fighting and bloody stuff irl, games are a way to relax...he’ll play shooters and gta type games with The Lads, but. on his own?? animal crossing. pokemon. kirby games. mario. zelda. BIG ZELDA FAN (not saying this bc I, personally, am biased, but,) slime rancher, stardew valley, funny simulator games... he really enjoys those :”) God forbid he has a kid bc they’re 100% getting named after a viddy game character unless someone can talk him out of it LOL. Toga and Tomura are that animal crossing /doom meme where she’d be asking for doom and him asking for animal crossing :”)

-Bits and pieces of Before are kinda stuck in Kurogiri’s brain, but like. mostly useless stuff the doctor didn’t care about removing. Like, types of clouds. So Tomura kinda picks up on stuff like that. He can just look at clouds and tell you what type they are because Kurogiri used to take him up to high places in the city and point them out to calm Tomura down from a panic attack when he was younger. He can tell you if the sky looks like it’ll rain with a 80% accuracy rate too.

-Kurogiri left food out for kitties in the alley beside the bar. They weren’t allowed in for Health Reasons (it IS a bar with sanitation standards!!) And Tomura really wouldn’t stop it or encourage it either way so long as Kurogiri did his job, but occasionally would stand outside with Kurogiri and just watch the kitties from a distance. If any approached he’d go back in (lowkey afraid he’d hurt them by touching them :( ) They kinda kept that between them tho, bc they both Know AFO is a big bag of dicks and no fun

-people have pointed out how similar aizawa and tomura look. this was 100% the intention. tomura has a hatecrush on him. THIS IS SO FUNNY AND HORRIBLY AWKWARD FOR KUROGIRI LMAO

-Sako??? Mr. Dramatic?? Opera fan. Drama kid. Like, obviously, but. Really. He is. I feel like he can speak a dozen languages. I also feel like he used to be an overachiever but got too ambitious. He was def some kind of leader at one point of a diff Group or something that fell apart. I LOVE how creative he is with his quirk and the magician theme??? incredible. I don’t show him enough love but I Love Clowns :o)

-I don’t care what their canon heights are. Spinner and Dabi? short kings. My height hcs are (tallest to shortest) Kurogiri, Twice, Sako (who also has heels on his boots and a tall hat, keep in mind), Tomura, Magne (Tomura and Magne are about the same height imo) Toga, Spinner, Dabi. LISTEN. Dabi has short energy. Sorry. it’s true tho

-This is a semi-popular hc I think bc I KNOW I’ve seen it before, but Dabi having Terrible Vision and needing glasses is so so good. (seriously, with burns THAT close to his eyeballs, how could he not?)

-he tries to be a tough loner coolguy. you’d think he’d smoke, but I hc his ‘weak constitution’ comes with weak lungs (esp from years of a flame quirk?? inhaling smoke over so much time is SO bad for you, most people who die in fires actually die of smoke inhalation...) so he’s got like, an inhaler, can’t smoke, actually gets carsick, needs glasses, overuses quirk to save friends constantly, likes napping, a little awkward and rude. Tomura put him in charge of the vanguard so he’s smart, and good with strategies too, like a nerd. this is the Dabi I wanna see, not the popular fandom version of him tbh also step on hawks one more time sir :”)

-I wish all the lov fics weren’t?? villain!deku like I said earlier, but also, chatfics? I have nothing against them but most of them are just a bombardment of Memes with NO PLOT!!! Listen. text/chatfics CAN have plot and be an interesting way to tell a story. I almost want to write one just to show what I mean...

I know I’ve said I like spinaraki and blackmagic, but I am a multishipper, so a few ships I don’t talk about that I like that involve the lov in some way:

-toga/any of the 1A girls??? or Camie??? super interesting. ALSO in the radio drama, bakugo’s voice actor said Toga was his favorite girl??? so?? bakugo/toga ?? I WANT TO SEE IT. but specifically my fav dynamic with her is when someone ELSE is the one to like her first, it’s what she deserves.

-Kurogiri/aizawa/mic?? any variety of that is also 👌🏻 I also kinda wanna see kurogiri/all might bc. Dads. COME ON. they bond over ‘well, I raised him, and you want to have a part in his life now?? ok. earn it. prove it. I’ll screen you first’ or something LMAO they’re both genuinely concerned for the boy, and SOOO biased. let them bond.

Toga: pan or bi (CANON BASICALLY)

Magne: transwoman (CANON BABEY) bi, leans towards men. (her crush on dabi in bnha smash... uwu content where)

Shuichi: gets sooooo flustered canonly, I think he’d go for the first person Who Hit On Him (I can see him being the target of those mean pranks where someone says ‘my friend likes you!!’ and the friend is like ‘eww!!’ :(((( ) he’s super hesitant for romance, lots of repressed stuff. gay but takes sooo long to realize it bc he thinks most women are conventionally pretty Aesthethically, feels obligated to Like Them, but has bad self esteem so never goes after them, then only likes (1) guy so hes like?? is this allowed?? is this allowed???? (HES LIKE. IN LOVE WITH SHIGARAKI)

Dabi: bi but rly hasn’t ever gotten to date anyone, so he’s actually more reserved about it and while he’ll tease, he absolutely is absent and kinda oblivious (again, I KNOWWWW bnha smash isnt canon, but. my god. when magne is hitting on him and he Just Doesnt Understand.) also hes ace

since the first step in achieving your goals is to state them aloud, here's a list of aftg fics/ au s that i'd like to write some day

- pre-canon fic from aaron's perspective spanning the twins' first meeting till they're drafted by the foxes and graduate high school. i'm increasingly enamored with aaron as a character as well as with an outside perspective of andrew's actions and i think it would be very interesting to look at the foundation on which their fraught relationship is built and first developed

- even more pre-canon fic. andrew's early life in foster care. yes, we all know about the most... gruesome things that were done to him, but i believe that there is plenty more that has affected and shaped him, especially in relation to my interpretation of andrew as an autistic poc. this would not be a happy fic.

- anastasia au. neil as anya, andrew as dimitri. possibly a plot amalgamation from both the animated movie and the stage show, with changes as i see fit. (no, neil is not the prince of russia). what i find most compelling about this au is the story of neil and andrew as childhood friends and then the angst of having andrew, as an adult, teaching an amnesiac neil how to act like a noble while being convinced that neil is an imposter. good shit

- art school/dance club au. the foxes attend the palmetto school of art at prestigious edgar allen university. they're considered the school's charity cases, and they are NOT friends. andrew is a studio arts major with a concentration in sculpture who works in the campus coffee shop in the mornings and frequents night clubs that employ pretty boys in the evenings. neil is attending college completely on his father's dime, PROVIDED he study what his father wants, despite his desire to study dance and music. going crazy without an outlet, neil takes a secret job as a go-go dancer. look. this may slightly possibly be a result of me having planned to party hardy this summer, then having my plans ruined by the virus :c

- 1950s High School au. the 1950s aesthetics fucking rock even though the 1950s fucking sucked. kinda wanna tackle both. plus, andrew already has that james dean bad boy fast car appeal

- an exploration of mary and nathan's relationship and history. i get that neil's parents are both super taboo and both really really awful people, but i have questions and i want to answer them

- neil never returns from baltimore. in order to keep his deals, permanently, andrew kills riko and tetsugi, and gets over 20 years in prison. when he gets out, he just wants to be alone, but it seems there's a ghost haunting him. this was conceived for MAXIMUM angst, no getting around it. i got the idea from a badacts fic and it has haunted me ever since

- post-canon sexuality exploration fic. i have a real passion for quality sex education and healthy experimentation, and neil very clearly didn't get the chance for either. yet at the end of the books he finds himself in a very intense sexual relationship. i just really want to give him the opportunity to find out how desire works for him and what he likes, on his own terms. i read a lot of fics where neil's desires seem to be completely dependent on andrew's initiaton, and while i do believe that andrew is the only person neil is attracted to and will ever be attracted to, i also want to explore how his sexuality manifests on its own. the vibe i'm going for is, uh, HornySweet (tm), but also with a lot of genuine eductional material. i want this is to be something that offers real information to its readers that may have been inaccessible for a lot of people, on topics like like sexual hygiene, maturbation, and sex toys in a non-fetishy way. this will be very very E rated, but like,, in a very earnest and goofy way because sex and sexuality is neat and cool but it's also not all serious perfect fucking. it's just,, a topic that deserves to be DISCUSSED

- mobster au. andrew, having never met aaron, takes a job for the moriyamas to track down a runaway asset. Neil. upon completion, they make andrew the butcher's apprentice, and pull neil back into the fold as a commodity rather than a person. lots of violence, lots of shady underground dealings, lots of plotting, lots of secrets.

i'm gonna put some more under the cut, ones that i don't feel as strong a drive towards right now or that i haven't thought as much about. if you (yes, YOU) like any of these, or are interested in any of these, or wanna hear more about any of these, or are even inspired to write something yourself by any of these please, PLEASE, say something in the notes, or send me a message, or an ask or anything. - princess bride au. come ON. princess bride is one of the most romantic AND most snarky movies of all time, and andreil literally invented love and devotion sooooooo it's a perfect match. "yes or no" vs "as you wish" kings of consent and communication and unconventional love declarations. also,, he may not be how I imagine andrew, but a young cary elwes in dramatic black pirate getup is DEFINITELY a valid andrew

- hozier au. sometimes,, i listen to an album, and imagine a fic that encompases the whole thing. nothing speaks louder to me than hozier's discography. (also, yes, i am gay). maybe a little bit inside llewyn davis. neil wanders through a small town and takes up some small jobs, but sings his heart out through twisted metaphors once a week in a hole in the wall bar staffed by a very short, dead eyed veteran

- prince and the pauper au. on a stealth recon mission in enemy territory, andrew encounters a local lord who happens to have his face. in a moment of desperation to save himself from arrest, andrew knocks the lord out and assumes his identity. he returns to the castle just in time for prince moriyama to arrive with a shifty-eyed, red-headed handservant in tow. lord aaron of columbia, meanwhile, wakes up on a ship manned by crown traitor and fugitive kevin day, calling him by a name he's never heard before, and then he's in the hands of the guerilla rebel forces that have been attacking the kingdom. i watched barbie princess and the pauper as a child and that movie fucking slaps

- little mermaid/beauty and the beast/bride of the rose beast/ladyhawke au. in a last ditch attempt to escape his father, neil trades his voice and his tail for legs and washes ashore on a small kingdom with horrible secrets. because he cannot speak, read or write, prince aaron employs neil to serve the monster in the catacombs, the prince's twin brother. the twins are under a curse that turns them into terrifying monsters, andrew by day and aaron by night. aaron's affliction is a secret, as is andrew's humanity. this is such a hodgepodge idea lol. did neil also have to be a mermaid for this to work? no. is he? hell yeah

- new york private school/twin swap au. aaron wins a scholarship to a prestigious school that will guarantee him a future, but then he relapses. convinced he just needs a little more time to get clean, he makes a deal with his volatile new brother, andrew, to stand in for him at the school just until he can his shit together. neil and ichirou moriyama have been raised together their entire lives, always under the knowledge that ichirou will inherit the family empire with nathaniel as his right hand. they hate the idea, but they have no way to escape, and now neil is being harassed by ichirou's bitchass estranged brother at their stupid, fancy private school. LISTEN, we as a fandom do NOT take enough advantage of the twin swap possibilities presented to us. pathetic

- post-canon fic where ichirou, realizing that the life of a mob boss is a lonely one, decides that he needs... a friend. however, because of the nature of his work, he can't just make friends with anyone, so he decides to make friends with neil. without consulting neil first. cue a lot of very weird, very awkward coffee dates where neil is convinced he's about to be disposed of, and ichirou just wants to know about his cats. the thing i like about ichirou is he’s a complete blank slate. i can make him a good guy, a bad guy, an ally, the Big Bad

- Kill Bill au. mary survives a bullet to the head and wakes up from a coma over a year later. with nothing left to lose, she sets out to single-handedly dismantle the wesninski circle. good thing she used to be its top assassin

- single dad andrew au. except look, look, stay with me here, okay, aaron is his son, and he's adopted nicky and kevin. LISTEN. STAY WITH ME. JUST THINK ABOUT IT. tbh the idea comes from my interpretation of the andrew/neil/kevin dynamic as distincly parental, then extending that interpretation to andrew's protection over the rest of his family.

- fashion au. andrew is a fashion designer and photographer who frequently works with allison reynolds. one day she brings around a short, twitchy assistant who looks like she just plucked him out of an alley. somehow, he becomes andrew's muse. i watch a lot of fashion competition shows

- ghibli. either howl's moving castle (andrew as sophie, neil as howl) or spirited away (?). maybe both idk

- legally blonde au. legally blonde is so good guys

Ultimate Fave Character: really love the "kids" so I rotate between them depending on my mood. Today I'll have to say it's Eliot.

Character I didn't used to like but now do: Sterling. He was such a pain in the ass, but he grew on me.

A character I used to like but now don't: can't think of one.

Character I'm indifferent about: Tara. She wasn't Sophie. I didn't care.

Character who deserved better: All of their clients, tbh. People are the worst.

Ship I've never been able to get into: Any ship that involves Sophie or Nate with any of the "kids" (eliot, hardison, parker)

Ship I've never been able to get over: Parker and Hardison are SO CUTE. Like, the work they dedicated to that ship and developing it. Hardison loving her for who she is and learning how to love her in a way she's comfortable with especially given she was lowkey on the Spectrum is just really beautiful to me.

A cute lowkey ship: I don't know the Parker, hardison, eliot ot3? Is it lowkey? It's cute af.

An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Maybe Nate and Maggie? I thought they were the cutest exes. Ugh.

A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: I can't think of any. Low on romantic ships and high on family goodness and kicking capital ass.

Fave storyline/moment: All of it? The team searching and trying to save Hardison in the graveyard job was one of my absolute favorites because the running gag was that he was the butt of the jokes and annoyed them. Or plan M was Hardison died, but like their all lost their ish.

Storyline that never should've been written: There were like three episodes that Bored me to tears. Like the big bird job with the plane. Other than that, I loved everything.

My first thought on the show: this is so cheesy but right up my alley!

My thoughts now: BRING IT BACK!! REVIVE IT! REBOOT IT! REVIVE IT AND REBOOT IT! The world is in dire need of more Leverage right now! 😭😍

Fave Character: I rotate between Maria and Kyle.

Character I didn't used to like but now do: Hm. I legit didn't like Michael for like the first couple of episodes. He was only likable around Alex and Maria.

A character I used to like but now don't: Noah, I guess. Although Dark Noah would have been a great villain if they kept him.

Character I'm indifferent about: Cam, maybe.

Character who deserved better: Rosa Ortecho. Forever and always.

Ship I've never been able to get into: Canon? Maaaaybe Max and Jenna. Non-Canon? Maria and Isobel.

Ship I've never been able to get over: ironically, I'm not so invested in a single ship that I can't get over them. That even goes for the heavy hitters Ech0, M@lex, M!Luca/m@richael.

A cute lowkey ship: hahaha! Me? The multishipper answering this is funny. Out of the main characters I basically ship both Kyle and Maria with everyone but Isobel and Rosa (because age and relation), and maybe Michael sometimes. DeLevans, DELVECHO, Kyluca, Marliz, Kylex, Manevans (alex and Max would be cute don't @ me), kyle and Max (bang it out boys), and so forth ...

An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Well, since part of the reason I'm fandom notorious rather than my usual and preferred obscurity is because I dared to ship Miluca 😳, so I'll go with that. LOL.

A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: I feel we can all agree Noah and Isobel should be at the top of this list.

Fave storyline/moment: Rosa coming back from the dead is still one of my all time favorite moments and the thing I'm most excited about.

Storyline that never should've been written: I have had to let a lot of things go to still watch and enjoy. And the pod squad covering up Rosa's death after thinking Isobel killed her still enrages me. And then Michael and Isobel still being such sh!ts to Liz KNOWING all of this will still set me off. And Noah being the villain and how he was the villain and how he violated Isobel and Rosa and that HE was the villain... just ... 😒 Anyway.

My first thought on the show: why tf are they rebooting Roswell? *b!tches* But let me watch it first to be fair. It's... passable.

My thoughts now: How tf did I get sucked into this show? I cannot believe I fell into this. And when did I fall this hard for Trevino?

Part 1 - All about BTS

Question 1: What is the meaning behind your username?

tbh I was sitting in kfc with my boyfriend over my winter break. I wanted to make my username more BTS friendly as I first started this blog out to write about different fandoms. Then, my love for BTS kind of grew to the point where I didn’t like my old user. So with that being said, I originally wanted “littlemeowmeow” but it was already taken. I added chimmy to the end because I love Jimin and Chimmy and well boom. there we have it.

Question 2: What got you into BTS and why?

If I’m being honest, when they first broke into the us I didn’t particularly enjoy them. I was still on the train of “I’m never going to get into kpop because I don’t like it.” gig. I was and still am into anime and a lot of jpop (particularly vocaloid) so I enjoyed listening to music in different languages just nto particularly kpop at the time. It wasn’t until I took my roommate (my best friend’s) advice and opened up a blog. I honest to god only wanted to do research since someone requested something for bts. Then I watched run BTS and i was done for.

Question 3: Explain why you like your bias

I could sit here for days and explain to you why I’m so totally head over heels for Min Yoongi. I certainly believe that his humor is right up my alley and I love how passionate and raw he is. I certainly believe that many people don’t like Yoongi simply because he can come off as mean or rude. But, he has a hard time expressing his emotions, but when he does it’s so pure and right. He’s not afraid to give his honest opinion, and he’s not afraid to be himself. I’m so happy that Yoongi is finding happiness because he deserves it in every way possible. I’ve connected with him since getting into BTS and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. God I sound like someone in love coz by god I am with him.

Question 4: Who are your bias wreckers? Has any of them come close to becoming your bias?

All seven of them wreck me on a daily bias’. And honestly Seokjin has come so fucking close to being my bias. I don’t know, something about his personality draws me into him and it’s hard for me to explain. As of lately, Hoseok has been fucking me up oh and fucking Jimin as well too. Damn it, all of them have been fucking me over.

Question 5: Do you have any particular ships you enjoy?

Any ships with Yoongi. Particularly Sope, Sin, and Yoonmin.

Question 6: Favorite Run BTS episode

Episode 24 I think it is the Zombie one and it will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the first one I watched

Question 7: All-time favorite BTS song (and if you don’t have one list top 3)

I can never ever get tired of listening to Seesaw. Not just coz Yoongi is my bias but because I love the melody of it. I find myself listening to it on repeat when I’m mindlessly working

Other than being a complete dumbass all the time, I draw, sing, and picked up sewing.

I’m such a cynical pessimistic person that there’s a lot that I hate. tbh I hate when the little guy gets picked on just coz they’re different.

Question 8: Finally, why writing?

Because I love creating worlds for people to dive into. I love being able to bring joy and happiness to someone who is having such a hard time. I think my mission with this tumblr is to help people escape from such a hate driven world into a reality that they fantasize about.

the first character you loved:

Undertaker is the character I started the series for! I’ve loved him since I first saw him, and he was one of the first kuro characters I ever came across. The second, in fact. I’ve got a thing for the villain-with-a-grin type, so he was right up my alley. I’ve also recently decided he probably best fits the ENTP typing for myers briggs, which means even if his appearance hadn’t sold me, his personality had to, because that also tends to be my type. There’s nothing about him that isn’t my thing

Taako because I mean................................... who doesn’t love Taako? I feel for him so much, and he’s so entertaining, and I love his whole vibe. He deserves his status as a fan-favourite

Bertie! I didn’t expect at all that he’d be such a favourite, but he’s a ball of sunshine, and he’s so earnest, and the way he talks to the reader like they’re a friend is so inviting?

the character you never expected to love so much:

WILLIAM. I barely knew who he was until I ended up playing him in a closed rp group. There were no OCs allowed and no doubles, so it went like this: Matto chose to be Grelle, and because Grelle was taken, Vlad chose Undertaker, and because Undertaker was chosen and at the time I was closest to Matto, the obvious choice for me was the recently-vacated William (before Will was freed, I’d been playing as Lord Randall lmao), but I very nearly picked Arthur Wordsmith instead. Can you even imagine? From that point, it was an inevitable slow descent into adoration, and he’s now set the standard for a whole new Type I look for in media

None? they’re almost all good characters, and I marathoned Balance, so I never really stopped to think about it. I have complex feelings towards Merle. He’s okay, but I don’t like bad fathers, but he’s worked on that, so, he’s... okay. He’s still not my favourite but I don’t dislike him for that anymore.

see above, Bertie. I don’t tend to go in for the dumb’n’sweet type, but... you can’t not love him. Asides from him, then both Psmith and Mike. Because I knew Psmith was Wild before I started, I was aware of him as a character already, but I didn’t realise just quite how supremely buck wild that boy would be. He’s incredible. Unfathomable. Incomparable. I adore him. But I almost didn’t get through the first half of the first book to even get to him, because I was not so very into Mike and I don’t care for cricket. If Psmith knocked me off my feet when I got to him, then Mike crept up on me slowly, slowly, then very suddenly with a cricket bat. The suddenly was when he not just dropped the ball, but threw that metaphorical ball out the window at breakneck speed during the dinner party with the socialists. When he couldn’t understand the question and so flat out refused to pass whatever it was to the guy with the lisp, I was sold on the spot.

the character you relate to the most:

Othello. Not going to lie, I was legit blown away when he first showed up, even just by his physical appearance. We’re both short (I think we’re close to the same height tbh), babyfaced, wonky eyes, dark hair that defies gravity. And then the lab coat? when I was in high school, up until my final years, I was so into science class, and even though I ultimately went into the humanities because I’m not mathematically gifted so chemistry wasn’t a great elective choice and sort of killed my science buzz, I’m still very personally into the ethically ambiguous scientist character type. Then comes the personality, and oh jeez it’s me, we’re both prone to collecting odd things if they relate to our interests, both not very tactful, (he’s admittedly more outgoing than me), both not physically inclined, both very into our respective interests, both tend to carry snacks, neither very inclined to keep official information secret provided it’s not Super Secret, the only things I can’t agree with him on are his choice of sweets and the specific nicknames the official English has him use for other characters. I can’t relate to, but can forgive, his choice of footwear. He feels like a self-insert almost. It’s incredible

Taako. Just, Taako. He’s nowhere near the same level of “oh, me?” as Othello (I think... it would have to literally be me to eclipse Othello), but there’s so many things about him that I relate to. The rough upbringing, the solitude, the really muddled sense of morals from that upbringing, he’s gay lmao, he has that artistic passion for food, he holds grudges, he’s so extra, I adore him

one part Jeeves and one part Gussie, with a sprinkle of Rocky Todd

the character you’d slap (currently):

oh god. so many. I can’t choose. But I have to pick Grelle, I know she’d kill me for it but I have to pick her, I’ll never like her at this point, her fans have ensured that even if I could get past what she does in canon (which would be possible, I’m not opposed to villains,) I will never fully enjoy her. And let’s be real, she’d deserve it with everything she’s done. I’m so glad Will does it for me,

Currently? Probably Lucas, but idk, I don’t hate him very strongly even though I don’t like him. He’s not really on my radar. the TAZ characters overall are all... good.

Madeline. I am... concerned by her taste in men, and the way she acts in a relationship, but I liked her Very much when she was first introduced as the super-sappy poetic ditz

Taakitz, and I’m not going to hold my breath but I’m kinda feeling agent Stern/Bigfoot. Stern/anyone should be good tbfh. I don’t ship very quick or very much so I don’t have a third here gffhdhffh;;;;

Jooster, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I’d be fond of Psmith/Mike but something within me compels me to accept canon couples so I can’t even start with it - knowing even if I supposed they had a boyhood anything, there’s no future sandbox of ship possibilities there for me since they get paired off. But on the other hand Psmith/Eve just didn’t get enough time together for me to really fall for their pairing and call it a ship of mine, even though I have no complaints about it. Same thing goes in triplicate for Mike/Phyllis. I do support both pairs, but I feel like they could have had another book exploring them both.
