Main characters of Cartoon Network rated on how they would interact with my CTCD OC Barry?

Dexter (Dexter's Laboratory) - He would mostly talk about his inventions to him, but he doesn't like it when Barry asks him obvious questions about them and how he operates it. A different one however is whenever Barry enters his lab and he might distract Dexter building his machines. 4/10

Dee Dee (Dexter's Laboratory) - She would often spin him around which makes him dizzy. She would also dance around in front of him, talk loud and be all hyper at him. Dee Dee does show to help Barry by giving him dancing lessons. 3/10

Johnny Bravo - Johnny and Barry are very tolerant and they show to get along really well. Though despite that Barry doesn't know about his(Johnny) taste in women. 8/10

Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup (Powerpuff Girls) - These four together are shown to be very supportive and have a brother-sister esque bond. Blossom being the most supportive and the smartest. The two would mostly do activities that she likes such as playing games and dress up. Bubbles finds him adorable since she really loves animals and gives him hugs, Buttercup is much of a tough cookie and tomboyish when around him, but she does care for him and his safety. 7/10 for the three each

Cow and Chicken - Cow often gives him hugs that might almost squeeze his life out of and talks about her family and her "Big Brother" Chicken. Chicken can become a bit of a jerk to him like he was to his sister Cow, but he can tolerate him and he would show him to his friends Flem and Earl. 5/10 for Cow. 3/10 for Chicken

I.M Weasel - They are always shown to respect and honour for eachother. 9/10

I.R Baboon (I Am Weasel) - Barry finds him really weird. 2/10

Ed, Edd n Eddy - His interactions with the Eds are quite a mix. For Eddy, he just finds him as an another victim for his scams despite the poor cat not knowing about what scams are. Edd/Double D is pretty friendly towards him and he does shown to go to him whenever Barry would require his help. As for Ed, although despite his stupidity. He is very positive around Barry can tolerate Ed but his(Ed) shenanigans would leave him astonished. 6/10 for the three each

Billy (Grim Adventures Of Billy and Mandy) - Billy's stupidity would most likely left poor Barry in dismay. 1/10

Mandy (Grim Adventures Of Billy and Mandy) - Mandy's cold hearted personality would make him afraid of her. And she even doesn't care about the fact the he has anxiety. But for Barry, he does try to be brave enough to go talk to her. 2/10

Grim Reaper (Grim Adventures Of Billy and Mandy) - Their interactions would be neutral. Barry does fear the Grim Reaper, although he isn't on his list 4/10

Flapjack (Misadventures Of Flapjack) - The two are pretty much on good terms. Flapjack has Barry to go on his adventures across the seas. 10/10

Capt. K'nuckles (Misadventures Of Flapjack) - He would let Barry join his adventures with him and Flapjack. The two are probably allies to eachother. 9/10

Chowder - The two might get along well and Chowder might help him on how to cook stuff. 10/10

Mung Daal (Chowder) - Barry does show respect to Mung, although he does say to him that his behaviour reminds him of his school teacher's behaviour. 8/10

Lazlo (Camp Lazlo) - Lazlo and Barry are brilliant friends to eachother, with Barry thinking of him as the friend he wished for. 10/10

Kids Next Door (Numbuh 1, Numbuh 2, Numbuh 3, Numbuh 4 and Numbuh 5) - Barry is shown to be very respectful and supportive to the team, though he doesn't know much about Kids Next Door. Numbuh 1 trains him on how to become an agent of Sector V. Numbuh 2 would aid Barry into building gadgets for the team and teaching him how to use them. Numbuh 3 adores him, she even let him play with her Rainbow Monkey dolls. Numbuh 4 would defend Barry against anything he couldn't take down and trains him to fight against their enemies. Numbuh 5 and Barry are shown to be pretty chill and are on good terms. 10/10 for each of them

Grizzly Bear, Panda Bear and Ice Bear (We Bare Bears) - These three would definitely get along well with Barry. They liked to share their interests to him. For example, Grizz would show his food for Barry to try. Panda would get him interested into Asian culture and Ice Bear would get him interested how to speak a language or do cooking. 10/10 for the three each

Hector Con Carne, Major Dr Ghastly, Boskov and General Skarr (Evil Con Carne) - There is an unfortunate mix with his relationship with four of those villains. Is that his favourite out of them is Dr Ghastly, he does like Boskov since he isn't really dangerous unlike the others. Hector gets him to listen any demand he tells and has it do it for him and for his plans. As for Skarr... just ultimately despises him. 9/10 for Ghastly and Boskov, 5/10 for Hector and 0/10 for Skarr

Bloo and Mac (Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends) - These two would get along with him well, Since Barry enters their world and is given the ability to see the imaginary friends. Although Barry does like the two equally, Bloo's immaturity can irritate the poor guy, despite him tolerating Bloo. Mac acts like a good brother to Barry. 3/10 for Bloo and 8/10 for Mac

Samurai Jack - This man would definitely be like a protective dad to him. Teaching him about the dangers around the distant future. 10/10

Finn and Jake (Adventure Time) - These three would be total buddies and taking eachother into many adventures. Barry even asked Finn about if the nubs are really his ears. He was like a child with wonder in their eyes when he sees Jake's ability to stretch himself. 10/10

Gumball (Amazing World Of Gumball) - Since these two are both cats, I think they might get along as friends. 8/10

Mordecai and Rigby (Regular Show) - He would get along with them, although that makes him get involved into their shenanigans. 8/10

KO (OK KO: Let's Be Heroes) - Barry could actually get along with KO pretty well. 10/10

Mao Mao, Adorbat and Badgerclops (Mao Mao: Heroes Of Pure Heart) - These three often treat him as an average resident of Pure Heart but he does go to them for their help and they are quite friendly with him. Mao would somehow act like a dad to him, Badgerclops is kinda chill when he is around with him and Adorabat, despite being very hyperactive and her loudness causing harm to his ears. She is a good friend to him. 10/10 for each of the three

Juniper Lee (The Life and Times of Juniper Lee) - Barry honestly doesn't know much about her nor he has interacted with her. ?/10

Craig (Craig Of The Creek) - Same with Juniper, he doesn't know much about him. ?/10

Steven Universe - Steven and Barry would mostly be great friends. 10/10

Ben 10 - I think they might get along good, though Barry would get surprised when he sees him transforming into his alien forms. 9/10

HELLO ROCK N ROLL KITTY! (Vol.2): MAZZY STAR & HOPE SANDOVAL [Update August, 2022: This is a post I originally put on Tumblr in 2016. I'm re-posting it again today, six years later, Aug. 21. 2022 (updated to include some newer info) because it disappeared from my Tumblr account along with all my other previous content I'd posted to Tummblr. In the last few days, I logged into my Twitter account for the first time in years and discovered Twitter must have wiped it clean of content, followers and following. It looked like a brand new account showing no activity, no content, no nuthin'. Did Tumblr do this 'cause I was inactive for so long? Hm. At least the account was allowed to exist, even if it had been reduced to nothingness! I had visited others' Tumblr pages occasionally but had not logged into my own for a very long time. I became active instead at fan groups on Facebook and elsewwhere and on my own you tube channel] ..................................................................................... This is a post on on Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval & David Roback as a cat appreciators. (Vol. 1 focuses on Dum Dum Girls’ Dee Dee Penny (now known as Kristin Kontrol) as a cat person). Mazzy Star’s / Hope Sandoval’s “totem animal” seems to be the cat as there are at least nine examples of cat image themes appearing in album art, merch, & music videos. Hope also meows her way, cat like, through a song, her guest duet on JAMC’s song “Perfume,” (a song whose lyrics only make sense when one knows the history of Chanel No. 5 perfume, & how the company became more responsible by ceasing to use in the making of its perfume musk taken from musk glands of the endangered wild civet cat). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pMPb6ifZ5c . Plus, Hope’s been known to send letters on stationery with cat images printed on the paper, & sometimes signs autographs accompanied by cat cartoons she draws.

-References to Hope’s own cats, or cats she knows have appeared in a few articles over the years, most amusingly in a Sept., 2013 SPIN mag interview where she & Colm O’Ciosoig speak jokingly about a cat “Herman” but without letting on to the leg-pulled interviewer “Herman” is a cat, not a person! http://www.spin.com/articles/mazzy-star-seasons-of-your-day-interview/

A helpful SPIN reader in comments ID-ed the mysterious “Herman” as a cat, which fits with what Hope & Colm say about him. I see the current posting of the article no longer has any comments attached. So, I’ll leave a new one there with the “Herman” info restored that someone else originally supplied.

-Hope mentions cats in lyrics in at least one of her own songs, “Suzanne,” by Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions. The lyrics line is: “The cats in here are overflowin’ “

- There’s a 50 min. audio interview from 2013 with Hope & David I’ve upped to yt here: http://youtu.be/TJaFHGAEFiE with a section (starting at the 30:16 mark) where they talk about cats, & it’s evident from it both are cat appreciators. At one point in the interview Hope says “I wish I could see a cat right now.”

-There’s a Rome radio interview & performance by David from 1988 (when Hope-era Opal was touring Europe) where he sings a song with amusingly odd sounding cat lyrics: “Sad and insane, Cat’s in the rain.” (Huh, David?). I’ve upped it to yt here: http://youtu.be/NL5mzjwyWNc It turns out it’s an Opal song called “A Falling Star” originally from the Opal era when Kendra Smith was still singer, but with new lyrics. Hope sang the new version with cat lyrics on the 1988 Opal tour after she became Opal’s singer.

-Here’s a passage from an Oct., 1996 Alternative Press article: QUOTE: “We pile into William’s [William Reid of JAMC, Hope’s bf of the time] compact car. He drives us to his and Hope’s place so she can get her notebook of lyrics [before they go to the studio for a Mazzy Star rehearsal for an upcoming tour]. At the house, David goes to the back garden to pet William’s cat. He speaks of his love of animals, nature and the beauty of Cambridge (where Syd Barrett lives, he notes).“

-In an October, 1993 Melody Maker interview, David recalls first encountering Hope at 1980s L.A. rock shows as “Just a set of eyes, like a cat” !

That’s my fantasy. I’d be the crazy lady on the block with all the cats. I only allow myself one cat but I fantasize about having loads.

INTERVIEWER: It’s really disciplined to only have one cat.

HOPE: I know! And I can barely handle the one cat. I didn’t tell you, Colm [Colm is on the phone with them in a three-way phone interview] but he didn’t come home until three in the morning. I couldn’t sleep all night and finally I heard his little door and I went to open the little door and he walks in and he’s limping. He is ok. He’s sleeping now and I’m just debating whether I should take him to the vet. He’s one of those cats who is just a fighter. He thinks he’s in charge of the whole neighborhood so he’s constantly getting into fights and this will be, like, the fifth time I’ve taken him to the vet and at this point they’ll probably call child services on me. It’s just strange. He’s a fighter.

INTERVIEWER: f you did have a collection, you would be at the vet nearly every other day.

Era 1971, y en el ahora inexistente Kingston Mines Theatre de Chicago se estrenaba un musical creado por Jim Jacobs y Warren Casey, ambientado en finales de la década de 1950s, rodeada de los primeros gérmenes del Rock N' Roll y dando un vistazo a la subcultura de los "Greasers", hijos de la clase pobre, trabajadora y obrera del sur y costa este de USA, cuyo término resultaba del uso despectivo que le daba el conservadurismo ante su manifiesta rebeldía, sus constantes enfrentamientos de pandilla (que en algunos casos involucraba hurtos a comercios), su gusto por los Hot Rod y las motos; pero lejos de ofenderlos, adoptaron el nombre como símbolo de unidad y hermandad. Los "Greasers" que anteriormente fueran vinculados a la actitud de rufianes, hoy se les ve con romanticismo e íconos del Rockabilly y de la esencia del Rock. Así, el musical, retomando todo este contexto, nos trajo la historia romántica de Danny Zuko y Sandy Dumbrowski, que sirvió de pretexto no sólo para mostrar a los Greasers, sino la constante temática adolescente del despertar sexual, la pertenencia social a un grupo y el no muy estable entorno social en la cual convivían los personajes, todos asistentes o vinculados a Rydell High School. Fue tanto el éxito que de manera ineludible y casi como una letanía, la obra tenía que seguir el curso natural de ser llevada al ecran, por lo que en 1978, hace 43 años, se estrenaba en el cine "Grease", protagonizada por John Travolta y Olivia Newton-John [dato curioso, su personaje se llama Sandy Olsson, cambiando el apellido en referencia al musical de teatro], para lo cual tuvieron que adaptar escenas y guion para volver la cinta apta para todo público, pues la obra de teatro era de por sí de rango adulto. De más está decir que el musical, como la película, poseen uno de los original soundtracks (OST) más famosos, queridos y recordados en la historia de la música, y para el caso de la película, contó con la canción homónima en la voz de Frankie Valli y producida por Barry Gibb (Bee Gees), además está la participación de Frankie Avalon haciendo de ángel de la guarda de la pink lady Frenchy (Didi Conn), tenía como lider de los T─Birds al gran y ya fallecido Jeff Conaway. Entre sus curiosidades, cabe decir que todos los actores que participaron eran mayores de edad, aunque sus personajes son adolescentes, a excepción de un personaje bobalicón interpretado por un jovencito de 19 años (el único con edad de high school), quien era nadie más que el exitoso artemarcialista y actor de películas de acción clase B, el "renegado" Lorenzo Lamas. La canción "Hopelessly devoted to you", fue creada exclusivamente para la película, y por poco, retiran de la misma a "You're all that I want"; mientras que "Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee" originalmente fue pensada como homenaje al actor Sal Mineo, pero el día que se grababa la escena fallecía Elvis Presley, por lo cual se modifica en honor a "El Rey". Así también, en la obra teatral, la canción "Grease Lightning" le correspondía al personaje de Kenickie (Conaway), pero Travolta dijo que él la usaría, lo cual no causó gracia a nadie pero se dio el gusto con su prerrogativa de protagonista. Curiosidad extra: Olivia Newton-John no es gran bailarina a diferencia de Travolta, pero tan contenta se hallaba por las secuencias de baile que fue por insistencia de él que termina participando en la secuencia del baile de promoción. Demás está decir quién fue su instructor de baile. El OST de "Grease" no es, en definición, un álbum musical propiamente, pero es tanta su riqueza y popularidad que en definitiva, es un disco que debe estar en cualquier colección; y no se puede dejar este mundo sin haberse dejado seducir, por lo menos una vez, por sus canciones que nos evocan a la época dorada del Rock. ____ Dedicated to m'beloved sister B. He puts his hands on your waist and sways with you to the song whispering in your ear how much he enjoyed seeing you dance to it the other day

He is beyond prepared for this moment

I wish I was joking

He always plays this song when he’s in the mood bc it just reminds him of you

This man wanted to spice things up and change things up to turn you on

So he did what any guy in his position would do

He texted you one day to meet him in the bedroom
