Me, after seeing that the temperature is supposed to dip slightly below 20 degrees for the first time since May: I MUST BAKE!!! Autumn is soon to be upon us and lo, I must fill my home with the sweet scent of bak'd bread and pastries, both rough and puff. Bring forth the flour!! 🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞🥐🥐🥐🥐🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪
I baked more bread. The boules are parmesan, roasted garlic and seeded sourdough, and the other is a pan de mie sourdough that I baked without the lid.
Can confirm this lavender honey bread is honestly an amazing first bread to start off with when baking! The smell is lovely, the flavor of the lavender isn't for me, but this also makes honey bread that's to die for!

Being a perfectionist, I can't help but bring that into the kitchen too. I usually start off with a little 'sorry, this might not be perfect', but honestly? The fun I have making it and the surprisingly good taste more than make up for it.
I even got some high praise for my apple pie from locals who've been making them their whole lives – and I did it all from scratch! That was a real boost. So, yeah, I'm feeling pretty good about it.
Plus, I managed to turn the whole baking experience into a Hebrew lesson. Kind of a fun twist, right? 😉
Nearly in tears proud of myself for my first ever real cake.
Vanilla bean cake, cinnamon buttercream, Earl grey syrup soak, and peach brown sugar sweet tea compote in the center! Not bad for someone whose neurological system doesn’t work 💪🏻😌
Today's bake. Wanted sandwich bread so I made this super simple honey wheat bran bread. Basically just water, yeast, honey, salt, 2 eggs, wheat bran and unbleached flour.
