As a fan of B99, May I request a wholesome headcanon of Rosa Diaz, Amy Santiago, Jake Peralta, Charles Boyle and Terrence Jeffords' reaction of meeting the reader who is captain Raymond Holt and kevin cosner's adoptive child and is working in the 99th precinct

99th precint meeting Kevin & Holt adoptive child would include

synopsis: The squad already knew that Raymond Holt is a man of few words, but who would have thought that he had a child?

warnings: none. gender neutral. no race implied. no age implied. like jake and amy, everyone deserves to feel like Holt and Kevin's kid. all b99 detectives included. reader have Holt and Kevin's personality.

Dear 99th Precint, I proudly inform you that today will be my child's first day of work as a rookie cop in our precinct. Don't embarrass me. Sincerely, Raymond Holt.

• No one had ever heard Raymond talking about having a child. They never saw a photo of them on his house. Kevin never mentioned something. Or have them? No. No, they didn't.

• Even Gina was surprised. She was mean about it, of course, but she didn't knew anything.

• When Holt arrived, everyone was waiting for him on his office. Peralta tried to play cool before asking, but soon Terry was screaming about how could he have a child and didn't say anything to them.

Haymond answered without blinking an eye: "Peralta would make it weird." Everyone understood. "Hey!" Everyone except Peralta. "But why you don't have pictures with them on your house?" Amy asked. "Are you implying I would forget my child's face, Santiago?" Holt was clearly offended.

• You arrived apologizing for being three minutes and seven seconds late. Rosa widened her eyes, muttering about you being his copy. Holt smiled at that comment.

• Jake tried to act like a cool big brother but as soon as you opened your mouth he was fangirling over you. You made a mental note about calling him "bro" if you ever needed something from him or wanted to make him happy. Every single little thing you did was a reason for him to smile widely.

• Terry offered to show you the place, and told you everyone's name. He was all sweet and polite, acting like the dad of the squad. Well, he was. Terry made questions about your training and abillities. He was trying to show off, and it was working.

• Amy was affraid of saying something wrong. Amy danced when you said your father talked about her, and immediately regreted that. All her atempts of acting cool were imterrupted by Gina's jokes. She almost cried when you refered to her as your father's apprentice.

• Hitchcock and Scully thought you were already working with them. They didn't get what was happening. Holt was so glad when they went to took a nap.

• You and Rosa sat down and spent thirty minutes in absolute silence. It was the best experience of your entire life.

• Gina was waiting for you in the hallway of the bathroom. She asked if you wanna form a alliance with her. You obviously said yes, despite not knowing what she really meant by that.

• You were surprised for not meeting Boyle. On your lunch break, you realized why: he had rushed to prepare a meal for the two of you. He and Terry got into a fight about food while you were eating. It was exactly like your father told you. It was perfect.

• You have a nice feeling about working there.

okay i’ve wanted to do this for way too long so: my sitcom crossover headcanons (not for all characters just those for whom i got ideas)

(b99, community, superstore, the good place, some abbott elementary too)

• jonah simms and amy santiago would TOTALLY be nerds together

• also jonah and jake dated back in high school

• the three of them + amy sosa would sing show tunes together

• abed nadir made them watch tick tick boom bc he loves the movie from a cinematic point of view (idk the exact term just film bro stuff (affectionate) ), jonah kept talking about the social context of this movie and all of them made him shut up bc he was talking during the movie

• jeff heard 30/90 and never admits that he keeps playing this song bc he relates too much

• jeff defended eleanor shellstrop in a case once then they hooked up

• troy barnes and jason mendoza would have the best talks and troy would keep jason down (while still doing crazy stuff w him he would just keep him from doing anything illegal)

• jake and abed had a die hard marathon w costumes and everything, they know the movies by heart

• they talk about the paintball games and the halloween heists, and they def plan to make some mix of them

• annie and amy santiago obsess over binders together, amy mentoring annie skelfjf

• britta and jonah find themselves into a sort of (friendly) battle between who’s the biggest activist

• during the convo britta says something about jonah being a cishet white man and jonah says he’s bi and everyone seems shocked then spends the day asking everyone if he really seems that straight?? garrett tells him he should look gayer just to mess w him

• also there would be a confusion between actors who play in multiple sitcoms, like eleanor not trusting kevin bc she thinks he’s shawn, but then she realises shawn couldn’t stand acting so boring for so long (i absolutely love kevin i just think eleanor would say that)

• i just want any interaction w holt, the dean and glenn

glenn would def be trying too hard to be an ally, holt wouldn’t understand the dean’s description of his sexuality (one of those never ending handkerchiefs)

glenn would absolutely love the dean’s play on words w his name, holt would find them childish but they would grow on him

• troy and abed would find out the afterlife system just like that and be the next doug forcett

• cheyenne and gina would plan a dance performance together and force everyone to attend it

• charles and shirley teach each other their recipes (and she learns to pronounce nikolaj’s name really fast)

• janet and holt would get along so well he would just be fascinated by her knowledge and attitude that’s for sure

• janet and abed too, he would ask so much movie facts

• jonah and jacob would get along so well. they’re the same kind of annoying nerds who turn on podcast mode too often

• holt and dina bird-naming contest (it literally lasts for days)

"I have no idea what to get Jake for valentines day. I tried to figure out what he might want but somehow fifty gallons of orange drink doesn't seem romantic." Amy said as she stood next to Rosa's desk.

"Ok, but are you prepared to receive fifty gallons of orange drink, because I hate to break it to you, that's probably what Jake thinks is romantic. It's like a year's supply." Gina asked as she joined them. Rosa laughed at that and leaned back in her chair.

"Oh. No look, I don't have time to worry about that. It's our first valentine's as a proper couple and it needs to be perfect. I'm sure Boyle will be helping Jake so I'm competing with him for the best gift." She sighed and glanced over at Boyle who was staring at her and talking into a Walkie-talkie. "Rosa, what did you get (Y/N)?"

"I bought them one of those frown smile octopuses that you turn inside out. Now when they’re mad they make it frown and throw it at me as hard as they can." Rosa said casually.

"That sounds healthy." Amy muttered.

"It's actually helped with our communication and now we assign a time to sit down and talk about stuff each week." Rosa went on. She then sighed and stepped closer. "If you promise not to tell anyone I helped you I know what the perfect gift for Jake would be."

"Of course! I promise! Omg Rosa are we having a bonding moment right now?" Amy gushed happily.

"I have ten minutes before I leave for my own valentine's date so don't make me feel like leaving early." Rosa said slowly and Amy nodded.

"Right. Sorry, reign it in." Amy muttered.

"You already have valentine's plans? You've got days yet." Gina asked Rosa who sighed.

"We each get to pick one thing they like and the other has to experience it with them and then on valentine's day we do something we both like." Rosa said with a smile.

"A romantic meal?" Amy asked curiously.

"We're going to one of the places where you can smash everything and then we're going to get food from our favourite food truck and watch people get dumped." Rosa said with a fond smile.

"Sounds… nice." Gina said and shrugged when Amy frowned at her.

So I had a prompt for b99, I was thinking with Jake and Amy and Amy notices that Jake’s all jumpy and smiley and she Knows. Maybe with a dialogue bit of like “come on, we have a common goal here!!” or “don’t even try to fight me right now.” sry if ur prompts are already closed. tyy

This prompt made me melt fr I adore them ;w; this is so fucking CUTE. It put me in a rly intense ler mood but that's ok we make sacrifices for peraltiago <3

Proof in Patterns

Amy likes to think that she’s always known Jake well. From the minute she set foot in the precinct, she had had him at least 60% figured out. Though Captain Holt likes to call Jake predictable as a method of chiding him, he isn’t far from the truth--he’s not hard to understand, if you take the time to learn him.

It’s sort of an open secret that Jake likes to roughhouse. He’s over the moon any time Terry decides to toss him around like a sack of potatoes--unless it's out of rage, which then the entire precinct begins to make funeral arrangements. Whether Jake realizes it or not, and Amy’s almost certain that he does, his mischief more than often gets him hoisted, chased, or launched by his friends.

Only a smaller group of people--two, to be exact--know about the secret nestled within that one. Herself and Gina, the latter of which is a given, since she’s known Jake since they were little.

“Jake!” Rosa’s tone could slice glass. Amy looks up from her computer, and—ah. Seems Rosa’s glare could slice glass too. Which means whatever happened is undoubtedly Jake’s fault.

“Rosa!” Jake parrots gleefully. Rosa forcefully spins his chair to face her.

“Where is it?”

“Where is what?” He crosses his arms, smug. She narrows her eyes.

“Give it back or I’ll make you,” Rosa hisses, grabbing a fistful of his hoodie. Amy catches the way Jake’s eyes light up before he tries to play it cool. Cute.

“Gonna have to be more specific, Diaz. I don’t have your stuff.” Jake shrugs.

Rosa grins.

“Oh god, why are you smiling?” He whispers, leaning away.

“Last chance, Jake.” Rosa raises her eyebrow expectantly. He swallows nervously.

“I don’t have—“

Rosa tickles his stomach with a vengeance. Every time he tries to grab her hands, she jumps somewhere else. Jake slides down in his chair, giggling faster than his lungs can keep up with. She pins him in that awkward slump with just her tickling hands and an evil smile.

“Top drawer! Rosa!” He yelps, hysterical, and curls away from her. Still tickling with one hand, she opens the top drawer and pulls out a brand new chocolate bar.

Rosa doesn’t even tell him off, she just pockets the chocolate bar and saunters over to her desk to enjoy it. Jake quietly puts his head down on his desk, hiding his face in his arms. His ears flush a deep red.

Alright, apparently three people know. Interesting.

“You doing alright over there?” Amy laughs softly. Jake mumbles something and gives a weak thumbs up.

“Jake, Holt wants you.” Gina announces herself by tazing Jake’s sides—with her fingers, thankfully. Still, he yelps and swats at her hands.

“Couldn’t resist. Not sorry.” Gina saunters away. Jake buries his face in his hands yet again. Amy pats his shoulder.

“Peralta!” Holt’s voice carries easily through the bullpen.

“Coming!” Jake’s voice cracks. Amy muffles her snickers into her hand.

…

Evenings are companionably quiet in their household--Jake’s murmuring reactions to the TV are white noise to Amy now. The combined softness of their pajamas defines contentment.

Jake’s head rests in her lap. Amy’s arm rests across his waist. She traces her fingers idly over his t-shirt as she reads, occasionally fiddling with the hem. Every time her fingers brush over bare skin, he shivers and scoots a bit closer.

“Hey--” She pokes his chest to get his attention. He jumps and rolls over quickly. She slowly bookmarks her page and sets the book aside.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Jake chuckles.

“I think you know,” Amy whispers with a mock-graveness. His eyes widen comically. He starts scooting down the couch but she drags him back towards her.

“Ames. Amy.” He tries to grab her hands but she swats them away.

“Don’t even try to fight me right now.” She swivels so she can sit on his waist. Even as she poses a threat to him, his hands comfortably find her hips. His smile is near-blinding.

“I feel like you’ve been waiting for this all day,” Amy laughs. Jake lets out a hilarious groany-whine, something gutturally flustered, and she laughs harder.

“You know I love you, right?”

“Debatable,” He grumbles. She pinches his side and he yelps.

“Okay! Y-Yes, I do.”

“And you know I think this is cute, right?” Amy drawls. Jake turns a pretty pink and refuses to meet her eye. He normally basks in flattery--his ego is usually a problem, even when endearing--but something about this context makes him shy. It’s adorable to watch.

“Would you just do it already?” Jake’s voice pitches high with embarrassment. Something devious in Amy wants to make him ask properly, but she saves it for another night.

“You should be nicer to me, Jake--” she leans down and kisses his neck-- “considering we share a common goal.”

His face is so hot that she can feel his blush. She squishes his cheeks to cope with how cute he is.

“You are so mean to me,” he mumbles through her hands.

“No, babe, I’m about to be mean to you.” Amy grabs a delicate handful of his sides and he goes boneless on the couch. As her fingers crawl higher, he curls more, squirming fervently. When she gets to his ribs, he nearly throws them both off the couch.

One of Jake’s most endearing qualities is how much he wiggles.

“Stay still!” Amy laughs and shifts to pin him better.

“I can’t help it!” Jake squeaks. She spiders her fingers at random over his torso, dodging his every attempt to protect himself. It’s not hard—Jake’s a man of patterns and Amy loves to analyze.

He slams his head back into the couch and clamps his arms uselessly to his sides. She tickles rapidly, incessantly at his stomach until he just has to reach for her hands. Once he does, she smirks and shoves her hands under his arms. He makes it so easy.

“Shit, fuck, Amy!” His voice jumps when she vibrates her fingers under his arms. He tries to clamp his arms down harder but it doesn’t help matters much.

“You keep saying my name like it’s going to stop me. You know your safe word.” Amy presses her thumbs in again. “Can I have my hands back?”

Jake narrows his eyes at her.

“No.”

“Are you sure?” She wiggles her fingers. He lets go with a cackle. She gives him a chance to breathe. He looks up at her with a dopey grin.

“Amy, Amy, Ames, hold on—“ He works himself into a giggle fit so fierce he snorts— “we can talk about this.”

“I’m not even touching you!” She snickers.

“Title of your sex tape—“

Amy vibrates her fingers into Jake’s stomach and he lets out a very satisfying scream-laugh. She chases it, tickling along his waist and back up his sides. He manages to buck his upper half off the couch and kicks his legs like his life depends on it. All this does is ruck up his shirt.

“I still think we can talk about this.” He holds his hands up between them with a giddy smile.

God, she loves him so much.

She shoves her hands into the pockets of his Die Hard sweatpants and tickles his hips ruthlessly. Having slipped off the couch proves to quickly be his downfall—there’s nothing he can do but laugh himself into silence.

“Ah, okay, okahahay! Gruber!” Jake wheezes, grabbing for Amy’s hands. She immediately helps him up and kisses his forehead. He pulls her back down for a proper kiss.

“Still think Nakatomi should be the safe word.” He huffs, little chuckles floating free.

“Yeah? When you manage to say Nakatomi through laughing, we’ll talk.” Amy tweaks his nose. He reaches up to do the same to her, she tickles under his arms briefly, and his laughter once again lights the quiet corners of their apartment.

Sooooo about the Brooklyn 99 au................ I am very excited and wanted to ask if triplets and Alma (and Pedro) are in the picture too? And who is the new captain, is it who I think it is? 😀🫢

And is the precinct like Casita? Maybe it is a really old place and it creaks sometimes and it sounds like it's talking? And maybe the characters interpret the precinct 'talking' according to their needs (like, Mirabel or Dolores - to prove their point, or Camilo - to have an excuse to fool around)?

And do the Madrigals fall in the established characters (e.g. I suppose Camilo could be Peralta, Luisa or Isabela - Rosa and etc.)?

And how does Aaron look like?

And do you mind if I come up with a kind of a story with this au? I have an idea, and I think it would get richer once I hear your answers!

This is going to be a long one.

Alma, Julieta, Pepa and their husbands are in the picture too, yes. But serve as relatively background roles, I’m afraid - to fill the parental relationships that you see in B99. They’ve been split, so each of them does parent one of their respective “kids”. There is an exception to this, however, as Pedro, Antonio and Bruno (we’ll come back to him) aren’t related to any of the “kids” at all and are their own characters.

Alma is Bruno’s mother

Julieta is Luisa and Mirabel’s mother

Agustín is Isabela’s father

Pepa is Camilo’s mother

Félix is Dolores’ father

However, they all keep elements of both their canon parents.

E.g.

Mirabel’s design is inspired by Agustín - very classy and formal in her dress.

But yes, Bruno (who keeps the surname Madrigal) is going to be their new captain.

The precinct is how you see it in the show. Modern building.

Casita, however, plays a role as the local bar in place of Shaw’s. Where it is in fact old and creaking. A theory is passed around that the place is haunted - though that is mainly to scare off firefighters, and occasionally Mirabel (Camilo likes winding her up)*. In saying that, there has been unexplained accounts of strange things happening.

The odd door might hit you if you get too riled up. The chairs always seem to be there to catch you. There’s a few tiles that seemingly clink to the music. Etc.

*To note - Mirabel was in a collapsing building as a child and she still gets freaked out over any building being potentially broken or unsafe.

They somewhat fall into established characters. Some more than others:

Camilo is Jake

Aaron is Charles

Osvaldo is Hitchcock

Rendon is Scully

Dolores is Amy (NOT romantically)

Isabela and Luisa both flick back and forth between being Rosa & Gina. Isa can’t do the more stoic and silent demeanour of Rosa, while Luisa isn’t quite as bold and verbally brutal as Gina.

Mirabel doesn’t really fit with any pre-established character, but is somehow the mother of the squad (in spite of literally being the youngest and having no authority). If you consider Terry being the father. So there’s that.

Bruno initially starts off a lot like Holt, but slowly becomes more of himself as time progresses and Camilo starts bringing out his more chaotic side.

Aaron was purely created for the purpose of giving Camilo his own Boyle.

Hacker leader: I don't even know who you are.

Katai: Yeah, but I know who you are, Victor. You tell everyone you graduated from the University of Ingolstadt. But you're actually a drop out.

Victor's friends laugh at them.

Victor: I was having a tough time okay!

Katai: Your son hates you, that's sad. And you spend a third of your salary on shovels and chemistry equipment. I found this all off of oh 20 minutes of idele snooping, imagine what I could find with a few dedicated hours.

Victor: What do you want?

Katai: For you to surrender, or I'll keep digging, and digging and digging.

Victor: Okay! We surrender.

Modern Mystery Inc. Remake

Since the Velma show is trending for being as bad as it is, I thought I would share some headcanons for each Mystery Inc. Member for the AU I’ve been working on.

This is specifically for the AU that I’ve been developing for a while, not the actual Scooby Canon itself. This is also not a complete list and more will be added latter, but hope you enjoy!

Fred Jones:

Fred inherited the Mystery Machine from his father, Frank “Skip” Jones, who was a disc jockey that hosted a late night radio horror show, “The Mystery Files.” Frank has since passed (his death was mysterious) when Fred was 10, making his wife, Margaret, a single parent.

He is a lower-middle class kid, working part-time as a mechanic to help support his mom.

Fred also has a collection of his dad’s old cassettes, mix tapes, and CDs that he plays while the gang is on the road, as well as recordings from his dad’s radio show that he listens to in private.

He dresses preppy/kind of like an old man to emulate his dad, whom he looked up to as a kid. His ascot also used to belong to his dad.

Fred has known Velma since Elementary school as they grew up together as neighbors, and were also in forensics class together; they are both sort of the brains of the group but Fred is kind of a “left-brain” himbo at times (smart, but needs a little more common sense).

He and Velma also both love watching Forensic Files and Unsolved Mysteries.

Fred became friends with Daphne through their AP English class after they were assigned to work on a project together. Turns out they both have strong opinions on pulp science fiction authors like Ray Bradbury and classic literature. 🤷‍♀️

Though, I don’t really want to characterize him as dumb or a genuine himbo as other versions do. Fred’s not dumb. He is a smart, well-meaning young man, but he is fallible to letting his good intentions get misinterpreted or not come across the way he thinks they do.

Fred is a well-liked guy at school, but by no means a popular kid, jock, or anything thereof. Think theater kid or English literature club kind of popular.

He did actually become friends with Shaggy on their high school track team, though. He had to drop track once he started taking engineering classes (hence the trap making skills), but he and Shaggy do hang out outside of classes. They both like sci fi, fantasy, and horror movies and video games and hang out at Fred’s house on occasion.

He wants to be a horror/mystery novelist, but also work as a mechanical engineer when he graduates college.

In this AU I don’t really want to characterize Fred as a womanizer like other versions have done. He doesn’t really strike me as that kind of guy. Fred, out of the 4 of them, has been in the least amount of relationships and has a general reluctance to due to his insecurities and duty as an extra provider for his mom; he has less time to date than most.

Daphne Blake:

She’s more of a rebellious rich kid who wants to escape that kind of life and frequently gets into trouble for general delinquency.

Daphne has an inferiority complex and thinks she’s not good enough, despite her parent’s wealth and her academic, social, and athletic success. She’s more pressured to succeed rather than encouraged, thus she feels like she has to act out to get her parents’ attention.

Towards her junior year of high school, she starts avoiding the popular people she used to be friends with and focuses on her investigative work with the gang, with whom she feels more comfortable with and finds more satisfaction in investigative and journalistic work.

Daphne has to access police and government databases because her father is a state representative, and thus is well connected to help the gang in their investigative work. Her dad doesn’t know that she does this, though.

Daphne has an older sister named Andrea Blake, who’s basically Gina from B99, whom she turns to for advice. They’re the only siblings who get along as Andrea is considered a “spinster aunt” and “wine mom.” Andrea is also a Y2K millennial, still living in the 2000s mentally, and her ringtone changes on a daily basis, variating between “Low- by Flo Rida” and “Evacuate the Dancefloor- by Cascada”

Daphne and Shaggy both have a penchant for weed and lived in the same neighborhood during their early tween years when Daphne moved from Vermont to California, which is where this AU takes place.

She and Shaggy got to know each other better when she did field athletics and he was doing track practice. They would frequently swap stories about their travels (her family moved a lot and he was an army brat) and general team gossip. They are also big Transformers and Star Trek fans.

Generally being a jack of all trades in terms of skills and abilities. She’s an excellent driver, investigator, martial artist, and in a lot of ways acts as the sort of muscle of the group ready to kick ass when need be.

She and Velma become best friends over the course of the series. They both like watching cheesy paranormal teen dramas and picking on them, indie dramas, and sharing music they like. Daphne also confides in Velma about her relationship issues and finds Velma a rational and sympathetic sounding board for advice and ideas.

Velma Dinkley:

Velma is ahead a few grades and thus graduates early along the others in the gang, but also being the youngest of the group means she is ID’ed more often and has to wait longer than the others before she can drink (and is lightly teased for her short stature and age). Frequently mistaken for being younger than she is.

Velma is a middle-class kid, thus is an active socialist advocate and feminist, GSA member, and has a scathing hatred of the 1%. She does find a bit of a conflict of interest being friends with Daphne,

She is an avid mystery and horror novel reader, sharing Fred’s love of mysteries like his dad.

Since she and Fred have known each other since they were kids, they frequently drop by each other’s houses, either to work on homework, have small talk, or Fred will help with repair/lawn work on the Dinkley’s house.

Velma is bisexual, having feelings for both men and women as shown through out past iterations and has already come out to her parents about this. She doesn’t date much as she’d like to, however, due to her busy academic schedule and investigative work with the gang. She also has trouble expressing herself vulnerably and is shy when it comes to romance.

She has a growing, eclectic collection of music from the 80s new-wave/post-punk/indie with which she shares with Fred on the road. Her favorite bands from this era are Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Cocteau Twins and she’s mad people haven’t heard of them; she appreciates and adores the Hex Girls as a result.

Velma wants to be a forensic scientist and bioengineer, one of the reasons being she stayed up way too many nights as a kid and watched Forensic Files and Unsolved Mysteries.

She and Daphne mainly became friends after joining up with the others on a few mysteries, and eventually starts hanging out with her after Fred invites Daphne over for a study group. They both like watching cheesy paranormal teen dramas and picking on them, indie dramas, and sharing music they like.

Velma helps Shaggy with his homework after finding out he’s dyslexic and the two form a sort of older sister-younger brother dynamic, regularly trading humorous barbs with one another. She also adores Scooby, not being able to have a dog of her own at her house because of her sister’s allergies. She is also curious in studying his capacity for human speech and intelligence.

Norville “Shaggy” Rogers

His dad is a retired Iraq war vet and state security official, and because of Shaggy’s military family, they tried to get him to enlist after high school. He didn’t take well to the training and was released after a year, instead majoring in culinary studies with an athletic scholarship in track and field.

His parents are divorced; his little sister Maggie “Sugie” Rogers lives with his mom in Pasadena while he lives with his dad in Oakland. He misses his sister and his mom a lot and tries to visit them whenever he can.

Shaggy has PTSD and anxiety as a result of his turbulent family life, and later starts living with his cousin, Dustin, and has Scooby as a service dog for his therapy.

He also has dyslexia and has had some trouble with school; after becoming associated with the Mystery gang, he joins up with them for study group sessions and they help him with things he doesn’t understand while he provides the snacks.

His dad and his army buddies would call him “Shaggy” because of his consistently messy hair, so the name stuck.

Shaggy is pansexual, having the most relationships out of the 4 of the gang, with all kinds of people.

He is socially well connected and has inside sources to various underground groups and activities.

Shaggy does indeed smoke weed, and consumes it in a variety of ways.

Shaggy was into magic as a kid and knows all sorts of tricks and disguises. He can do ventriloquism and close-up magic and has used these tricks to get out of tough situations.

Shaggy loves horror movies and Halloween despite his general fear and anxiety during investigations, and has acquired a vast amount of paraphernalia ranging from classic universal monster movies to the most recent ones.

Shaggy also loves classic rock like Fred, more specifically underground gonzo rock and other niche acts like Arthur Brown, Frank Zappa, the Cramps, etc.

Scoobert “Scooby” Doo

Scooby is a genetically engineered dog trained for human speech as a part of a secret army project that Shaggy’s dad worked on, but was considered “defective” for not being as aggressive as the other dogs. Shaggy begged his dad to let him keep Scooby and after he conceded, Shaggy started taking better care of him and they became good buddies.

Scooby was named after a popular brand of graham cracker treats “Scooby Snacks” after Shaggy fed him some when he brought Scooby home.

Though Scooby is intelligent, he still falls whim to the behavior of a dog; needing walks, doing zoomies, playing keep away with various items and dog toys, etc. The gang often forgets this and often have to remind themselves, “oh right, he’s a dog.”

While being still being cowardly, Scooby can be brave and go after the villains if they’re endangering his friends, being very competent in taking them down. He’s a cinnamon roll who does have the capacity to kill you.

Later in the series, Scooby becomes a father to a litter of puppies, including Scooby Junior, a Great Dane/Pitbull mix. Given the average life-span of Great Danes and coupling that with any genetic modification Scooby has been under, he probably only has 3-5 years left of his life and thus starts a family to spare the gang of any pain.
