To Be Loved - Laurie Laurence
a/n: my first laurie fic! :D i'm pretty happy with how this came out and glad that i was able to actually write it out. bear in mind i haven't written anything like this in months, i also am not super confident about the dialogue because of the time setting and everything, so it may not be the most accurate, but i hope you enjoy! :)
summary: you get insecure about things with laurie late one night
word count: 2,427
warnings: slightly negative self talk here and there
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Candlelight casts a warm glow over the silent and chilly room, the time well past midnight, but you and Laurie were wide awake. This has been a normal occurrence for the past few weeks, as you two got to know each other and started sneaking around.
Since the day you arrived at the March household to stay with your aunt and cousins, Laurie had taken a liking towards you. The moment he saw you taking a walk with Jo in the grassy area between their two houses, he couldn’t help but feel drawn towards you.
Maybe it was the way your hair blew in the wind, or the color of your dress, which happens to be his favorite color, violet, or the way the sun shone across your face, your eyes squinting just to be able to see Jo.
Whatever it was, Laurie couldn’t get you out of his head. So one day when he saw you reading underneath the tree, he approached you. Now, as it has been a couple months since your first meeting, you two are completely smitten.
And sneaking around behind your family and his grandfather’s backs.
That’s where you find yourself late at night, when all of your cousins and your aunt have fallen asleep, you sneak out and run off to Laurie’s to curl up in his bed and just talk, maybe kiss here and there, and mainly just be in each other’s presence.
The slight chill in the air is due to the falling temperature of autumn, cooler nights when the sun has gone far below the horizon, but Laurie was more than prepared. He laid a couple more quilts on top of the one he uses every night, knowing that as much as you love the weather, you hate being too cold.
“When are you heading off to Europe again, hm?” You ask, reaching up to stroke Laurie’s cheek. He hums softly in response, his eyes fluttering shut as he relishes in your tender touch and nuzzles into it.
“I don’t plan on going,” he states simply, sighing in response, hating that he has been reminded of it all during a time where he wants no other thoughts than you.
“And why is that?”
Your question seems to upset him as he quickly rises, your hand falling away from his cheek, and he walks over to sit on the window sill, staring out at the pitch black scene, aside from the single candlelight on the porch of the March household.
The room remains silent as he collects his thoughts, questioning if he should tell you his true thoughts or not. He turns back around with his hands in the pockets of his sleep pants, his eyes taking in the sight of you laying in his bed, a sight he would never grow tired of.
“I love you,” he whispers. Instantly, your blood runs cold and you’re sitting up, more alert and aware than you were five minutes ago.
“What?” All you can manage is the single word, your heart starting to pound in your chest. You could feel your hands getting clammy with your rising panic, despite the coolness of the room and it being well below sixty degrees. Laurie stands there, staring, tears becoming evident in his tired eyes.
“I love you, (Y/N). I do.”
“I told you not to fall in love with me,” you murmur in response, scooting to sit up in bed and bring your knees to your chest, “it wasn’t a joke.”
“How am I not supposed to when we spend countless nights tangled in each other’s limbs, faces so close that I can feel your breath against my lips, yearning to kiss you, to cherish you, to make you mine, to hold you like that forever.”
“Laurie, I’m no good for you. You deserve someone better.” Your eyes finally meet his and a defeated expression takes over his features, his small smile dropping into a frown and his eyebrows furrowing together in confusion.
“There is no one better, (Y/N). You are so perfect and I don’t know why you don’t see that.”
“Because I’m not! I’m no one. I come from nothing. I have nothing to offer you, I came here to ask Jo for help in becoming a writer so that I could make somewhat of a living for myself, a-and, I can’t provide for you.”
“You wouldn’t have to provide for me, my love-”
“Don’t call me that,” you interrupt. Secretly, you loved it, the second it falls from his lips you are swooning, but you simply can’t admit that.
It terrifies you.
“You really have not thought the same? Nights like these mean nothing to you?” His voice holds so much emotion. His question silences you, and tears form in your own eyes as you watch Laurie break slowly from the inside.
He was trying his hardest not to reach out for you and pull you into his arms in a tight hug, it’s all he wanted to do. He wanted to hold you, to kiss you over and over and whisper how things would be okay and that they would work out. But he stands his ground.
“They do,” you sigh in defeat, casting your eyes to your hands just as a few drops spill over your eyelashes. “But…”
“But what? Why can’t we be together?”
Again, you have no clue what to say.
“Money means nothing to me, if that is the issue. If not, please tell me what is. I want you, (Y/N), please.”
“I can’t! I just can’t!” You finally cry out, and this time, Laurie does take action.
He rushes back over to your side, wrapping his arm around your body and softly shushing you, wondering what was going on in your mind. He didn’t say anything, though, he just comforts you in this time, making sure you feel safe and cared for.
“I can’t provide a love you deserve,” you choke out, your voice broken and strained from crying. “I don’t know how to love someone, I would not know how to properly show you or give that to you.” Laurie is a little taken aback by your admission. Out of all the things that could have been wrong, he did not think this would be it.
“Isn’t that the beautiful thing about love, though, figuring that sort of thing out together? Learning about one another on a more deeper level, the way we like our tea or coffee prepared, what makes us tick, what helps us fall asleep. All of it. And I want that with you.”
By now, you moved your body to face Laurie, meeting his eyes as he speaks so quietly and eloquently. His hand raises up to your face to brush a stray piece of hair away from your eyes and tucks it behind your ear, though his hand lingers on your cheek.
“Please, (Y/N). I know you are scared, but it would be so wonderful to have the chance to show you how to love.”
The sincerity in his voice was very clear, and it was making your heart race in your chest. Slowly, he leans forward and gently presses his lips to your forehead, his eyes fluttering shut as he remains there for a moment before pulling back a little.
He then moves on to kiss the apple of your cheek, being as sweet as ever, making sure that not one inch of your face goes unkissed. Your breath catches in your throat and the feeling of bliss spreads over your body as the idea of what was happening finally settles in.
Laurie’s lips trail even further down your face to focus on your jaw, going from your chin to right below your ear, but he takes it a step further. After a small pause, he moves his attention to your neck, however, they are no longer soft and careful kisses.
He picks one spot that sends a slight shiver through your body, chuckling lowly against your skin. His warm breath and soft, pink lips felt so nice, you completely forgot what you were talking about just moments ago.
Laurie takes a chance and bares his teeth, nibbling the skin of your neck for just a few seconds. A gasp flies out of your mouth and your hand comes up to tug at his hair, like it was a natural thing for you to do. He lets out another laugh at your reaction and goes back to kissing all over, soothing the area with his tongue for a fleeting moment.
“Stay with me,” he mumbles through kisses, not wanting to stop just yet, but he needed to. His head rises to look at you, his beautiful green eyes shining in the candlelight, something you’ve grown so fond of seeing, so much that you prefer seeing him in this limited lighting rather than daylight; he appeared so angelic at this time of night and in such an intimate setting.
“Laurie…” you breathe out, sniffling a little even though your tears have subsided with his kisses, “I just want you to be happy.”
“You make me happy,” he replies with no hesitation at all. The sincere look in his eyes returns, but as does the watery glaze, the realization that you could be close to walking away from all of this. “You make me so unbelievably happy, (Y/N). I don’t think you understand. I don’t want anyone else, you are it for me.”
“But how do you know? There could be a wonderful woman waiting for you to sweep her off her feet in Europe, looking for someone who cares so deeply and will love her unconditionally, and I do not deserve that.”
“You do deserve it, mon chéri.” The new pet name sends a warm feeling throughout your chest. It felt so personal and heartfelt, and stuns you a little to the point where you freeze. “You have no idea how wonderful you are. You are the woman I want.”
His words finally sink in and it prevents you from pushing him further away, your tears once again making their way down your cheeks, but Laurie is quick to brush them away with his thumb and comfort you.
“Hey, hey, shhh,” he coos, bringing your head into his chest as he lays you back down with him, allowing you to cry again for as long as you need. “It’s alright, my darling.” He just lays there, his right hand gently stroking your back up and down as a way to soothe you, but then he starts to hum some tune quietly.
The smooth sound of his voice and almost shy touch to your back was lulling you to sleep, but you knew this conversation wasn’t quite over just yet.
“You still there?” He asks quietly, not wanting to wake you if you had happened to fall asleep. His hand raises and starts messing with the ends of your hair, combing his fingers through some of the knots, trying to be as careful as possible to not tug at any too hard and cause you any pain.
“Mhm,” you mumble into his neck, the scent of his cologne still lingering from earlier in the day, a scent that you’ve grown very fond of, one that you could smell a thousand times over and never get tired of.
“What’s going on in that pretty head of yours?” You hesitate to answer his question, but you know he needs an answer of how you’re feeling. Sitting up, you take a deep breath and look out the window, not moving from his side.
“I…care for you so deeply, Laurie,” the words begin to spill from your lips, and by the tone of your voice, Laurie is preparing for the worst. He sits up with you, though he scoots away just a little, ready to be rejected, like he has been before. “And I want you, I do. If you are okay to take me as I am. A young woman with no sense of direction in her life, no fortune to share, no insane wealth of knowledge or talent like my cousins or any other-”
Laurie is quick to cut you off with a kiss, silencing you to prevent you from speaking down on yourself anymore. His slender fingers cradle your cheek, a stream of tears still falling and melting into his warm hand.
The kiss lasts for a few seconds, Laurie not wanting to pull away just yet. But when he does, his forehead presses against yours, his breath fanning over your face, reminding you of all the nights spent with him, and how you have fallen for him just as much as he has fallen for you.
“You should not speak of yourself like that. You are incredibly smart, a very talented writer, and remarkably beautiful, might I add. Any man would be so fortunate to have you, I promise you that.”
“Then consider yourself very fortunate, Laurie,” you whisper, keeping your eyes on your hands for the moment, too scared to look up at him yet. However, he takes matters into his own hands and raises your chin up with his knuckle, sending butterflies flying throughout your stomach.
A small grin stretches his lips, his green eyes shimmering with adoration as your feelings finally come to light.
“I will be by your side through everything. I love you and I am here to prove that, my darling. And I could not be more joyful that you are giving me the chance to guide you and show you what it means to love and to be loved. Everyone deserves it, especially you.”
“I love you,” your voice comes out slightly strained, fearing that it would be the wrong thing to say. “And I know I don’t know what it means just yet, but I have never felt this way with anyone before, and while it is a scary feeling, I can tell that it is so special and magical.”
Laurie chuckles quietly and kisses you once more before laying back down with you in his arms, closer than any other night you’ve spent with one another, but it felt natural.
It felt right.
“It is very magical, and I promise to show you all the beauty in it, and love you as you deserve to. Because if there is one thing that I know for sure in this life, it’s that you deserve the world, and I promise to give that to you, my darling.”

Tumblr media
—Kim Seokjin
Jin considers himself unexplainably lucky
The universe has given him a chance that he’ll never be able to deserve
One day during his first semester of college he met someone special that little did he know would change the trajectory of his life forever
Seokjin made a friend and they grew fairly close as the years went on, until one day this friend came to him with a bittersweet conversation
She was switching to online school as her dreams of becoming an idol were finally answered
Jin supported her decision and waited patiently for her debut
An Autumn song caught his ear on the day of her debut and his eyes no longer followed her form
Instead, Jin became starstruck by the lively girl who made the stage her own
Since that day, Jin only sees his relationship with your member as insignificant
He only cares to engage with them when it involves you
Seokjin is a snake with his words and uses his charms to his advantage
He’ll manipulate and lie his way into getting new information about you
Although, sometimes it’s slightly suspicious when almost every time they hangout is when you’re tagging along
He really has just turned your co-worker into a tool at his disposal
At the most lowly point of his life, he even resorted to flirting with the foolish girl in order to sneak into your dorms
Granted, this repulsive act brought up serpents in his stomach and he had to restrain himself from the gags that tore up his throat
He wound up drowning himself in mouthwash to try and get rid of the rancid taste that never seemed to leave his lips (He was tempted to almost bury himself in bleach but resisted)
This traumatic event did have an upside though, as he was able to creep into the dark corners of your bedroom when his other companion was asleep
Unfortunately, you were not safely sleeping under his watch but just being able to stand in the place he frequently hallucinates about is enough for him
His consciousness moves into a dream-like state as he takes in everything that your fingers have touched
His heart flutters while silently sweeping his gigantic hands over your stuffies and sheets
He takes a seat on your bed and breathes in the reflection of your spirit
Shaking hands reach for the sweater tossed to the left of him
His lips quiver and he can’t hold back the sobs that force their way of him
His misty moon-eyes shine in the light that passes through your curtains
Blue bleeds from his curled up body and coats every surface of your previously vivid room
He despises the way his rotten emotions have blended into your walls
Nibble fingers then quickly gather any item that has sucked up his sorrow (At least that’s what he tells himself)
He’ll take these souvenirs of your sunshine and cherish them until that delightful day arrives when you eventually take their place
Tumblr media
—Min Yoongi
He’s your producer and songwriter
Articles and fan sites have become fascinated and praise the poetic nature of your songs
Each line is drowning in lovesick emotion that carries the weight of the human soul
Each song is unique with a variety of tales telling love and sorrow combined with hateful rage and tortuous terror
Every lyrics he writes is a vow to love you
It’s not a surprise how romantic and illusionary his songs end up being, his heart always sings for you after all
Every time your songs win an award he feels as if his love is validated
And every time a songs fails to reach an achievement, he sobs for days on end, promising to do better
He will not let his words fall flat and be mistaken for empty oaths
His apartment is an archive, full of stacked books overflowing with the words of adoration that never stop their cascade
A graveyard of blue pens (your favourite colour of course) lies in the corner of his living room, each scripted soldier aiding to the thousands of verses written in your honour
Above the TV playing visions of you, are the hundreds of awards placed delicately upon his shelves
You’ll have to excuse his selfish desires but he couldn’t stop himself from taking them
Each award is a golden reassurance that his love for you is reality and the world is aware of it too
It’s even better that these trophies were once held lovingly in your hands
He used to trace the ghost of your fingertips along the lines of the figurine
Although, once he realized his tainted touch smudged away your memory, he cut his fingertips off in a panic and laid them up on his wall where they've stayed still ever since
Drifting away from painful memory and onto thoughtful perceptions, in a competition between your siren singing and your sweet spoken call, your regular voice comes as a close second
Each sonnet you speak is that much more meaningful due to the fact that what you say are the words he wrote
An angelic tone constantly fills the silence of his apartment from dusk to dawn
It’s even more euphonious watching you perform in the studio
He can’t help his glossy eyes from floating to stare at your open lips
Whilst your silver voice is the constant background noise that fills his head, Yoongi finds time to record you speaking light-hearted chit chat during your recording sessions
When the time comes and Yoongi must make his way home, he walks slow in the studio but sprints on the sidewalk
His rush can be contributed to the fact that Yoongi is always inspired to work on some arrangements when provided with new material
He’ll cut and paste the pieces of his collection and create new paragraphs that he pretends you said to him
Yoongi sees your life as a duet
Neither complete without the other
He used to sing in silence but his voice is so insincere compared to yours
And he takes pride in the way your career and prosperity relies on him so much
You two are so trusting in one another yet a step to far away
It’s a pity Yoongi’s too accepting of his life with you to risk taking it a step further
Tumblr media
—Jung Hoseok
In Hoseok’s realm of reality, you are both undoubtedly in love with one another
Yet your relationship is a secret, kept hidden away from prying eyes and stuffed into the back of his closet where cardboard cutouts and posters sleep
Hobi’s too shy and nervous for his undying love to be publicized, so he’ll just stick to supporting you from the sidelines
He has a YouTube channel where everything and anything is all about you
His favourite segment is unboxing the hundreds of albums he purchases for everyone of your comebacks
Before cutting open the wrapping he’ll wish and beg to see your face so much it’s almost satanic
When he pulls your photocard he almost faints in excitement but when his hands are dirtied by pulling the face of another one of your members he ends up trashing the card
Speaking of your photocards, his collection includes every single card that can be found
Binders upon binders are filled with your face and when he ends up doing a tour for his channel, the video ends up being over 30 hours long
Hoseok’s favourite hobby involves curling up in his bed and cradling your limited edition twin plushie in his crushing embrace
He nestles up to the faux sense of security, stroking the soft fabric and pretending it’s you
Soft yet erratic gasps tumble from his warm mouth
His head controls the ghosts of you that creates strawberry cheeks
A sensitive smile paints it’s way onto a caramel canvas
His body grows hot as his hopeless fantasies drive him into delusion
Swollen lips begging out to brush up against yours
His eyes hang heavy lidded with overblown pupils
His previous crying mellows down as trembling whines grow needier
He daydreams about how you’d feel held up against him
A raw, rose-bud blooming between the both of your bodies
His heart trembles, overwhelmed by your hands tugging at his hair and dragging your peachy, plush mouth across his neck
Honey hot hands grip harder to the sheets beneath him
You make him so weak
Heat pools below his stomach, all strung up in pretty pleasure
Pressure building and body temp rising, Hoseok’s lost in a fool’s paradise
After every climax in utopia, Hobi is hit with the reality of his predicament
The rainy nights that follow look something like this…
Hoseok gets his head bashed in by a reality check
His brain is blown to bits, bleeding south along his bathroom tiles
Venom pulses through his veins as he wishes the world would lose it’s mania
Veracity is Hoseok’s enemy but it’s a good thing he’s hopeful
Tumblr media
—Kim Namjoon
You make Namjoon so curious
His thirst grows stronger in need of consuming any knowledge slightly related to your existence
Namjoon knows you better than the gods who created you
He’s your worshipper who knows your wants and needs of the past, present and future
Namjoon always keeps updated about your schedules, personal plans, and tiny details which other fans have shared
He keeps a binder stocked full of information
The binding is bursting and pages threaten to flutter out of their place
He’s set aside every Wednesday and Friday to study your life and it’s interesting habits
Saturdays are for quizzes which he forces his roommates to participate in
He’s even started to live his life exactly like yours in order to feel closer to you
This includes him eating the same meals you do and visiting places you’ve been photographed at just minutes after its been posted
He’ll never miss out on purchasing all products you endorse or are seen using
He’s even tailored his style to match your own (He’s always been a fan of couples clothing)
And Namjoon, ever the worrier, is anxious that all your lives, messages, and posts are in danger of being corrupted and lost forever, so he downloads all your content into an archive for safe keeping
Namjoon is a worshipper, dedicating his devotion to your entirety
In a walnut wardrobe with a false backing is where your shrine meets his eyes in the early morning and late night
Of course it’s adorned with the finest and most expensive amenities
Jewelry, love notes scribbled onto loose-leaf paper, totems of the gods luck, and a single golden lock of your hair (Don’t ask him how he got it)
The centrepiece held in this sacred sanctuary is a painted portrait of yours truly
Namjoon’s never been much of an artist but it would be such a travesty not to document your desirable beauty
Every fine features flows into the next, blurred together with emotion and sentiment
He spend almost all the hours of his wake languishing away in an attempt to perfect every detail
He persisted in his laborious ways until every curve, divot, and colour matched that of your own
When a year has faded away and his mastery is finished, pearl droplets of ecstasy and varnish are used to seal it
His half of the shared flat he lives in resembles more of an art gallery and archive then an actually home
No part of Namjoons personality, hobbies, or are emotions are his own
All this mania and madness is for you
The generous god who was gracious enough to let him love you
Tumblr media
—Park Jimin
Jimin is your #1 fan
He was there as you built your career from the bottom and has supported you in every way possible
Every album you produce winds up in his grasp and every song is played on repeat the minute of release
He’s watched every video you’ve ever featured in 100 times over
Posters of you are plastered over every inch of his room, some photos even spilling out into the hallway
Jimin’s favourite lullaby is the sound of your siren song that flows from his CD player every night
Your sugary, sweet voice slithers deep into his thoughts every moment of every day
You are the best things that has ever happened to him… but also the worse
Park Jimin is so fucking jealous
He’s always had trouble containing the fiery beast that lies unsettled in his stomach, yet lately it’s been getting bad
He sees the way you interact with your members and he doesn’t think they’re good for you
They hide your true potential under fake smiles that smear their scarlet lip gloss
He hates only being able to watch as ‘fans’ cover you in filth
His hatred has almost boiled over so many times that he had to stop going to fan-meets
Jimin would never lie to you but he can’t let you see him like this
Death would be a better fate than seeing the disgust that would splatter across your face at the sight of him in such a state
Crystal rain already begins to fall down his face at the mere inclination
The sour words you would spit at his feet and your hardened glare that would piece his chest
However, this doesn’t mean all that he’s done to show his love already is a lie
He not interested in deceiving you, and the truth is that Jimin is so very sensitive
He’s caring and emotional, selfless when it comes to showing his worth
But sometimes Jimin feels that there’s two sides to him
A twisted twin that he’s so very tired of pushing down
Jimin is growing weak and he isn’t sure how much longer he’ll be able to contain the monster that’s ripping apart his rib cage
Tumblr media
—Kim Taehyung
Taehyung is your eternal shadow
He follows you in the light of day and stalks you in the dark of night
Having Taehyung as your obsessive fan would be like an undying disease
His entire life revolves around you
You are his universe
The first time he caught a glimpse of your face he rushed home to etch the memory onto paper
A fire ignited in his lungs where the smoke billowed out into short, wispy breathes
By the time the next day rolls around he still sits hunched over his desk drawing doodles of you in his notebook
This nights insomnia foreshadows many more sleepless nights spent studying pictures of you
After many weeks his drawings became too lifeless and he yearns for a stolen look at your features once again
The months that follow involve Taehyung spiralling into a new insanity
He quit his job and left his apartment, all in search for a closer spot to you
Taehyung and you share the same silhouette
This is proven in the way he pursues your every move
His new expensive camera captures every moment his eyes fail to catch
The walls of his room are covered in pictures of you taken by his artistic eye
He loses himself in the dreams these candids encourage and traces the outlines of your image as daylight falls
So lost in his own mania he catches himself mumbling your name in place of his friends and mistakes strangers scent in similarity to yours
As time grows old, Taehyung becomes bolder, more infatuated and impatient
This masochist like to tease himself with your touch, stealing the skin he meets when his stalking becomes more akin to silent assault
He takes the risks that put your whole relationship in stake
His crimes double in number as his obsession becomes insatiable
His delusions morph into a place of real-life euphoria as clarity escapes his mind
Last night, right when the clock aged 11 in the absence of light, he stepped foot into your domain
He hasn’t been thinking straight lately, too blinded by his fantasies to consider the consequences
He crawls over to your bed where heaven lies in a slumbering state
He’ll let his throat tear itself to sheds speaking his heart-felt confessions to you
“I’m crazy about you.” Two kisses laid to bed on the crest of your chest
“You’re the center of my world.” Bed sheets rustle as he pulls himself closer
“I’m completely, and utterly devoted to you.” He melts into your unconscious embrace
When the sun wakes, he takes his time dragging himself off of you and out the door
Let’s see how far Kim Taehyung is willing to test his temptations before he destroys it all
Tumblr media
—Jeon Jungkook
“You’re the one I’m dreaming of, in endless love, you’re my forever.”
Jungkook’s love for you is infinite, yet despite his honest intentions, the execution of his attachment can be quite clumsy
It seems that your love is so shocking that it electrocuted his mind
Your breathe so toxic that it ties him up in a tongue-twister, tripping over his words for the days to follow
Body so heavenly that his brain has melted into mush upon your first encounter
Jungkook first spotted you on a billboard in the city and he swore he could see the stars in your eyes
Since then he dove head-first into everything there was to know about you
He schedule practically matches yours too a tee
Although this was not without great struggle, after losing his job, blowing his rent money, and setting fire to his friendships, Jungkook has endured everything in order to be close to you
He makes sure to attend all your events, concerts, fan-meets, and all things in between
He’s the one who shouts your name the loudest, he gives you the biggest gifts, and he sends you the most love letters
Practically every one of your fans knows who he is at this point
Jeon Jungkook is a psycho fan who stalks you, is blacklisted from almost every venue (But that never stops him from finding a way in), and has had rumours of assaulting other fans who get in his way
His obvious obsession is also what leads him to check all articles, management posts, and your social media every night
This is was leads him to a harrowing discovery
“Unfortunately, popular k-pop idol L/N Y/N has fa-” He never finished the sentence before he threw up
Checking back on the article his concern became reality as news of you being injured broke his barely beating heart
The ice water drifting through his veins pours out of him in the form of desperate teardrops
Ear-shattering wailing disrupts his neighbours sleep and Jungkook's crying continues on for the rest of the night
The only solution to his misery comes to him in a disfigured dream
Jungkook makes his way to your apartment on an evening that borders on sunset
Fresh flowers are placed in front of your door accompanied with a hundred page note and a stinging smile
He hopes that this will cheer you up in your times of great distress
…His plans end up backfiring completely
The next night you go live and Jungkook waits athirst for the words you’re about to speak
“Please, please stop coming to my home. I can’t trust or appreciate anyone who so blatantly ignores my privacy and safety. If I have to beg you to stop stalking me then how can I even call you my fans?”
You think he doesn’t love you?
No, no, no, no, he loves you, oh god he loves you so much
Why can’t you see it?
Can you not tell just how much his heart screams out for its other half?
Do you not notice all the agony he has endured, and will continue to endure, in the name of your happiness?
This revelation brings on a fit of hysteria
Fears squeezes the air out of his lungs as he hyperventilates on the living room floor
Wet words are yelled out between sobs and pleads for your love
His tears don’t stop flooding his eyes as he lies helplessly on the wooden floorboards that soak up the sadness
Hours border on days as he lays limpless
He doesn’t eat nor sleep yet only mumbles a hopeless mantra that he prays will reach your ears
“I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you-”
Poor, pathetic Jungkook
All those days sitting in sorrow allow a dire idea to fester within his mind
Termites of idiocy tore apart his brain and spat out of the lovelorn remains
Perhaps this distance is what’s limiting your sight of his loving languish
He wants to be closer to you, craves it, no, needs it to survive in this confusing world that pins you two against each other
So all this thinking leads him to kidnap you from your dorm
He shushes your scream with the hand held over your mouth (one that also holds a wet rag submersed in chloroform)
When you wake you’re disoriented and full of confusion
You’re faced with an unfamiliar ceiling and dark shadows that spiral into your sight
The only strong force that keeps you connected to this world are the arms wound tight around your torso
The muffled man comforts your crying before you can notice his own
“Now I can finally show you how much I love you.”

Hi Gummy😌❤️
since we're talking about kinktober...
Tumblr media
How about Sherlock(Henry version) and semi-public sex (or something like voyeurism?)
I'm imagining Sherlock and reader (friends or lovers) are on a case when they are close to being discovered their true identities when Sherlock suggested that they could "make love" to fool the guards in (let's say) this brothel.
they could be faking it (till the vibe becomes too strong) or they are truly in love so they went at it anyway😋
Feel free to change or add to my lil thot😌❤️
OH GOODIE!! I love getting requests and I love love LOVE this idea!

You didn't have any family. The girls at the factory were your sisters, you all knew each other through and through. So when your friend Rosaly went missing, you knew she counted on you to discover the truth.
The entire country knew of Sherlock Holmes and his incredible detective skills. According to the papers, there wasn't a case he couldn't solve. So you scraped together nearly all your savings and traveled across the country to see him. Sadly, when you arrived at his office on a chilly autumn afternoon you were disappointed to find it empty. With nowhere else to go, you decided to wait it out.
Sherlock Holmes had always been quite the gentleman... and a handsome one at that. He arrived at his office somewhere in the afternoon. He wasn't usually this late, but he was stuck on a case and had indulged himself in one too many drinks the night before, leaving his body tired and his head hurting. However, his headache was quickly forgotten when he noticed a shivering young woman on his office's doorstep.
"Excuse me miss, can I help you?" he asked politely.
"O-oh...I'm s-so sorry...I'm...I n-need..." you shivered
Sherlock took off his big, long coat, wrapping it over your shoulders as he helped you up. "Hush now, little one. Let's get you inside first, shall we?"
Once inside he quickly lit a fire and offered you a hot cup of tea while you told him everything. He agreed to take up the case and after enduring a lot of your begging he agreed to let you join him too.
And thus your adventure with Sherlock began. He offered you the sofa in his office to sleep on and you kept the space tidy and clean for him in return. Surprisingly he found you worked quite well together. You were fearless and smart and on top of that, the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on.
After nearly two weeks of working together, you were finally close to finding out where Rosaly was, through clues that she had left for you.
The puzzle pieces were finally falling together, all you needed was one more piece of information, and according to your last clue, this was where it was supposed to be.
"A brothel?!" You observed as you looked up at the tall building.
There were pink and red lights flowing through the half-closed windows you didn't dare to stare at for too long.
"This is the only address I can find according to those numbers. It has to be here." Sherlock stated.
You took a deep breath. Time to put on your big girl pants.
"Alright. Let's go then," you said, already starting to marsh forward
"Hold on there, little one." he pulled you back by your hips, "You are not coming in there with me."
"What would you have me do then? Stand out here in the dark all by myself?"
You had a good point.
"Fine, but you will do as I say. Understood?"
You rolled your eyes but agreed anyway, joining him as he made his way through the door.
"I need a room," he stated firmly.
"Mister Holmes! Of course!" The lady greeted him with a smile, "I'm sure you don't need an empty room, right?" She joked, "Shall I send up Elisabeth-"
"That won't be necessary." He interrupted quickly. You were sure he was hoping you hadn't caught that, but unfortunately, there was already a jealous twinge spreading in your stomach.
"I brought my own. Just the room will do," he added and then the lady looked you up and down, making a heat surge up your cheeks.
"Sure thing," she replied, looking through her keys, "Only the best for the country's best detective."
She shot you both a wink as she handed him the key and Sherlock quickly took your hand and led you upstairs.
"Go to the room and lock it. I'll be there as soon as I can."
"What are you gonna do?" you asked, a bit worried
"I'll be right back." He repeated before closing the door behind him.
You did as he asked and locked it before silently taking a seat on the bed.
You looked around the room as you nervously toyed with your fingers. The sheets were soft and fluffy. You couldn't help but wonder which secrets they held. Which forbidden sights they had-
*knock knock knock*
You startled for a second until you heard his voice say "Open up..."
You rushed to the door and quickly let him in, locking it again behind him.
"I know where she is."
"What?" you asked, your brain still foggy for everything that was going on
"Rosaly. I know where she is. I know where to find her. We can be with her first thing tomorrow." he spoke again
"I..." You didn't know what to say, so you just did what felt right. You lunged forward and hugged him, whispering a couple "thank you's" as you wrapped your arms around his neck.
He was about to say something when a loud knock startled you yet again.
"Everything okay in there?" a male voice yelled.
You looked at him in panic. They must have seen him wander around the place.
"Moan." He said
"W-what?"
"Moan," he repeated
"W-wha...like...like we're m-making love?"
"No, little one" he grinned, "like we're fucking."
You didn't have time to think as Sherlock Swirled you around and pushed you against the wall with a loud thud.
"Moan, NOW!" he growled.
"Ah!" you moaned, earning a grunt from him in response.
"Do it again, louder," he whispered.
"OH!" you moaned again, louder, just like he asked.
"There you go," he praised, "good girl." There was a grin plastered on his face that made you blush.
Two can play this game, you thought.
You pushed him backward making him fall on the bed, earning another loud groan from him as you crawled on his lap.
"Oh, Sherlock!" You moaned passionately, as your eyes fell shut and your hands found his chest "OH yes YES." you couldn't help but giggle at your own theatrics, making your body bounce a little.
You weren't paying enough attention to his face to notice that the grin had melted away the second you straddled him.
"Oh yeah right THERE, please!!!" you tried to contain your laughter when suddenly Sherlock flipped the both of you over making you gasp.
"YEAH? Feels that good?" his voice was lower now and you could feel his bulge press right between your thighs.
Suddenly...it wasn't so funny anymore.
"Cat got your tongue?" He whispered, leaning down to kiss your cheek.
"I...I don't...I didn't..."
"Is it me that turned you into a stuttering mess or the fact that you're moaning for an audience?" He teased, pressing kisses down your neck to the swells of your breasts, currently threatening to spill out of your dress as your chest heaved underneath him.
"Sh-Sherlock..." you moaned, in earnest this time.
"Shush Sherlock? Do you wish to silence me, little one?" he grinned devilishly as his hands wandered under your dress, caressing your thighs.
"Oh....please..." you whimpered
"Now now, little one, I know you can be louder than that." he chuckled, fingers toying with your undergarments.
"I n-need..."
"Need what? Huh?" he ripped the fabrics in his way until he finally found what he was looking for. "Ah yes, needy you are indeed, as I have never felt a pussy quite as wet as this one..." he teased
"Come on, little one, tell me what you need."
"you..."
"louder..." he whispered lowly in your ear, teeth grazing the shell of it as he left little nibbles all over.
"you...YOU!"
"That's it!" he groaned as he lowered his pants, teasing your wet opening with the sticky tip of his cock.
"Tell them who's making you feel this good!"
"S-stop..."
"Want me to stop?" he smirked, knowing full well your sentence wasn't finished
'N-no! No, please just...AH FUCK!" you screamed as he entered you bare.
"There you go! Scream like the wanton little harlot you are!"
You didn't know if those words were meant just for you or for the men outside but in the moment you didn't care, as it made you squeeze his hard cock even harder.
"Sherlock! Please...please..." You didn't know what you were begging for, seeing as he was already seethed deep inside you, but somehow begging was all you could.
"Stop teasing..." you managed to get out. He loved how sweet and helpless you looked under him. How you managed to look so kind and innocent while he was balls deep inside you remained a mystery to him. Oh sweetheart..., he thought to himself
"....feels so fucking good..." he groaned, dropping down closer to you as he started to gently pump himself in and out of you.
"O-oh..." you moaned, tangling your fingers in his dark curls.
His hand hadn't left your face, while his other hand went on a mission to find the place where you were currently connected, somewhere between all those layers of fabric.
He tilted his hips, angling them to hit a spot inside you that made your eyes flutter, yet when his fingers finally reached their destination they shot open again.
"SHERLOCK!"
"That's right, princess. Let them know who's fucking you this good!"
He continued to pound into you, but despite his rough words, his actions were surprisingly gentle.
"M'gonna...gonna..." you keened, feeling yourself climb higher and higher.
"What do you need, little one?" he groaned, clearly getting very close to the edge as well.
"Little harder...just a little..." you whined, quietly.
Sherlock obeyed, gently building up his thrusts until he was smacking into your pussy perfectly.
"That's right! Need it harder, huh?" he yelled out loudly again.
"YES YES HARDER" you played along before whispering "Kiss me, please..." Making not only his cock but also his heart swell.
He immediately pressed his lips down onto yours, swallowing your moans while his fingers kept strumming your sensitive pearl.
You came hard around his cock and kept pounding into your clenching pussy perfectly. Your left hand pulled at his hair while your other hand clawed at his back so hard his shirt ripped a little.
Your orgasm triggered his, and he let out a loud groan as he shuttered above you while spilling his hot seed deep inside your womb.
You both lay there, a little out of breath. Sherlock had his head buried in the crook of your neck, where started pressing gentle kisses while you played with his hair and traced invisible lines on his back.
That night you and Sherlock stumbled down the stairs of that brothel equally rosy-cheeked. You in your ripped-up dress, he in his torn shirt. You walked out hand in hand, two dozen pairs of eyes burning holes in the back of your skulls, but neither of you cared, for the passion glowing hot in your chests would outburn them all.
A/N: IM SORRY IF THIS WAS SHIT IM ON MY PERIOD AND IM JUST A BIG SAP IM SORRY I APOLOGIZE IM JUST A GIRL YOUR HONOR.

Autumn has finally rolled around once again and you couldn’t be happier. The cool crisp air, the gorgeous trees in their red, yellow, and orange leaves. The pumpkins and the hot chocolate, soups and sweaters were a must. You had your own little fall traditions and one of them was pumpkin picking. You loved searching the fields for the perfect pumpkin to carve or paint, depending on your mood. This year your sweet boyfriend was partaking in the tradition. To say you were excited was an understatement.
“What about this one?” Wheeler asked as he lifted up a tall medium sized pumpkin. You looked up and grinned as you made your way towards him, abandoning the pumpkins you were examining to get a good look at what he found.
“It’s nice, but it’s too tall. It has to be round and little bigger but not too big.” You explained, putting emphasis on too big. You went back to scanning the ground for what you called the ‘perfect pumpkin’.
Wheeler let out a sigh as you turned away from him. He sat the pumpkin back on the ground. Standing up, a pumpkin caught his eye. It was bigger than the one he just had and it was round, just like you wanted. Wheeler made a beeline for the pumpkin and proudly carried it to you. “This one. This is your perfect pumpkin.” He beamed.
You spun around caught off guard by his sudden proximity to you. You took in his appearance as he presented you the pumpkin. His hair was starting to stick to his forehead with perspiration, his eyes shined bright and his smile was one of the widest you had ever seen from him. His Blackpool Combat Club jacket was half zipped and one of the sleeves had fallen off his shoulder. This was hands down the cutest he had looked since arriving at the pumpkin patch. You finally looked at the pumpkin in his arms. It looked perfect!…. except for the big dent near the bottom. You didn’t have the heart to tell him. “It looks perfect babe!” You did your best to give him a convincing smile.
Unfortunately, at least for this moment, Wheeler saw how your smile didn’t reach your eyes and how your eyes didn’t light up like they do when you’re happy or excited. “There’s something wrong with it, isn’t there?” He let out a breath and hung his head, closing his eyes in the process.
“I’m sorry Wheeler. It is perfect, there’s just a dent at the bottom.” You genuinely felt awful for taking so long. “I’m sorry I’m being so picky, I just want this pumpkin to look good so it will look even better when I carve it. I have this image of what I want and I really want it to match the vision.” You explained, taking the pumpkin away from Wheeler and setting it down. You slipped your hands into his and gave a little squeeze. “Let’s just go home. I’ll figure something else out.” You said as you began to tug him in the direction of the car.
“Wait.” Wheeler stopped in his tracks causing you to stop as well. “We’re going to find you that perfect pumpkin.” He stated matter-of-factly.
You looked him in the eyes and you saw the determination in them. “Really it’s fine. We’ve been here for two hours and I’m not happy with any of the ones we’ve looked at. I don’t want to waste anymore of your time. It’s silly anyways.” You pulled him by the hand once again to get him to start walking.
“No.” Wheeler’s voice was stern and he had a serious look on his face, one that told you he was dead set on finding you this pumpkin. “You’re not wasting my time and this isn’t silly. This is something you love doing and you have a really cool design picked to carve. I can see that it means a lot to you which means it means a lot to me too.” Wheeler tucked your hair behind your ear and rested his palm on your cheek. “I love you and I will always help you with anything you need even picking out a pumpkin.” He placed a gentle kiss to your forehead and pulled you into a hug.
You wrapped your arms around him, breathing in his natural scent mixed with his cologne made you feel at home, loved, and safe. It always grounded you ever since you first met.
After some time in your boyfriend’s embrace, you finally pulled away. Your eyes trailed up from his chest to his face, your eyes locking with his. “Can we get hot chocolate after this?” You grinned knowing Wheeler Yuta never turns down hot chocolate.
“Hell yeah!” He exclaimed, a smile spreading across his face. “Let’s check that patch over there.” He said, pointing a few feet away.
“Race ya!” You laughed as you took off towards the next pumpkin patch. Wheeler just laughed and shook his head at your little trick, racing after you.

All My Roads Lead Back to You Epilogue
Here it is, the final part. I’m sad that’s it over. It has been such a lovely story and such lovely people that have supported me through. Those that were there from the start. Those that joined at anytime during the ride. Even the ones joined in with the last chapter. Thank you. All of you. You are all amazing.
The wedding.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12 Part 13 Part 14 Part 15 Part 16 Part 17 Part 18
***
The Munson-Harrington wedding was the must have invite of the year. It didn’t even matter that their marriage would only be recognized in a handful of states. All that mattered was that they were getting the chance to tie the knot and throw a huge party for all their friends.
Dateline had done an hour long piece of the Hawkins Witch Hunt as they were calling what happened to Eddie. It opened a whole can of worms regarding the Hawkins Police Department and other things that they may have sanctioned.
That lovely little news piece also bagged Kenny a girlfriend. He took one look at Lily Byers when she arrived for school that autumn and fell head over heels in love with her.
She even joined the band as rhythm guitar to newly named Children of the Knights of Hell’s Fire. They had found their style at last. It was little bit metal and whole lot of rock.
While their kids were in their senior year, Jeff, Gareth, Eddie, and Steve were all in Eddie’s studio working on an album. Apparently not only could Steve play, but the man had the pipes of a god damned angel.
Eddie had been tempted to put him as lead vocalist, but Gareth wisely pointed out that fans are going to at least expect to hear Eddie at some point.
So Steve was harmonies and backup vocals as well as bassist. Eddie was writing away and coming up with new stuff, remixing old stuff and he was finally able to properly grieve Jay by writing the song “Two Loves: Not Better, Just Different”.
The original Corroded Coffin boys loved it, Children of the Knights of Hell’s Fire loved it, and of course Steve loved it. It was unanimously decided that it should be the first single.
Everyone came to the wedding. The other Byers/Wheeler clan arrived with twin baby girls that they recently adopted. Beautifully named Elinor and Jeanette.
Dustin and Suzie’s baby boy was named Percival or Percy after his other favorite literary hero when Suzie wouldn’t let him name their child D’Artangan. He was also spoiled rotten.
Max and Lucas were the next to arrive with three very tall red-headed, dark skinned boys. The eldest Anthony was sixteen, the middle boy, Reggie was twelve, and their youngest Sean was eight.
Erica and her husband, David brought their two boys, Nico and Nemo aged ten. When their firsts were twins that was enough for them.
The parents started arriving as well. Joyce and Jim came. Claudia, too. The Sinclairs were there of course. Wayne had showed up weeks ago to help with all the planning.
Jane came last. She never married, she became a children’s advocate for neglected and abused orphans. She was the one they brought in when things got bad because she always had a ‘knack’ for knowing what the child was thinking. She had thrown herself into the work and found it rewarding.
Steve’s house was teaming with children of all ages and he loved it. Eddie came up to him at the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding.
“It’s not quite the six nuggets you were hoping for,” he murmured into Steve’s ear, his arm gently wrapping around his waist. “But I think you’ve got your wish about lots of kids, sweetheart.”
Steve blushed. “I didn’t know anyone had heard that.”
Eddie nibbled on his ear. “My only regret is pushing you toward Nancy. That wasn’t fair to any of the parties involved.”
Steve nodded. “I was so desperate to be loved by someone, I would have fallen for anyone. It’s not your fault.”
Eddie’s chuckle rumbled through Steve, they were that close. “Ah, but you see that’s my regret. Had I known that I would have pushed my case so fucking hard, babe.”
Steve burst out laughing. “I’ll bet you would have! Throwing that vest in my face so hard I had to take a step back just because Nancy and I had an in-joke.”
“Guilty as charged.”
Max came up to them and hit Steve with her crutches. “About time you two got your heads out of your collective asses.”
Eddie gave her a hug. “I missed you too, Red.”
“Just make one of the stops on your tour Boston and we’ll call it even,” she said.
“Deal,” Steve and Eddie said together.
She laughed. “God, how does Harri and Edie put up with you two? You’re such saps!”
“Auntie Max!” Edie called. “Come meet Mandy Lawrence, she skates, too!”
Max laughed. “I’m coming. Hold your horses.”
*
The backyard was beautifully decorated in blue and yellow flowers. Eddie’s groomsmen were in blue and Steve’s bridesmaids were in bright, sunny yellow. Dustin was Eddie’s best man and Robin was Steve’s maid of honor. On Steve’s side of the aisle was Nancy, Edie, Lily, and Max. On Eddie’s was Wayne, Harri, Jeff, and Gareth.
It was a quiet affair despite everyone who knew anyone wanted to be invited.
There was no procession. Steve and Eddie were already at the alter waiting for their guests to file in. They stood together, both hands clasped in the other’s.
Hopper was officiating, having become a justice of the peace after leaving the police force. They had already done the marriage part in a quiet courthouse in a small Massachusetts town. This was for their friends and family to witness.
“Today we bring together two people,” Hopper began, “who despite all appearances of being complete opposites couldn’t be more perfect for each other than if God himself had planned it.”
Steve and Eddie both blushed.
“Eddie,” Steve murmured, “You are the best part of me. I wandered lost and though I was never quite alone, having friends and beautiful daughter by my side, I looked for love in all the wrong places, because that place was always home, with you. I started us on the path by saying things I didn’t mean because I frightened of the change you have always brought to my life.” Steve released Eddie’s hand for a moment to wipe away a tear.
“But I should have realized that you brought me joy in those changes and not run away from you. So I promise to come to you when I’m feeling down or bad about myself. I promise to love you even if loving myself is hard. I promise to care for you always and cherish each moment of every day that I get with you. I never thought I’d get a single day, and getting a chance of a life time with you is a dream come true.”
He brought Eddie’s hands to lips to kiss his knuckles.
Eddie smiled. “Steve, I believed I used up my second chance when you rescued me all those years ago. Bleeding and broken, I thought my second chance at a new life was when me and my boys got our record deal, but now I see that my real second chance was here, with you. Jay made me happy for the time we had together, and I truly believe he prepared my heart to be receptive to yours.”
Steve mouthed, ‘I love you.’
“I promise to love on the days that are hard. To cherish on the days that are easy. And worship you all of my days. You had a life time of believing yourself to be unlovable, and I promise to spend the next forty years–”
“At least!” Dustin called out.
Eddie laughed. “At the very least. I promise to spend the rest of ours lives proving how wrong you are. That you are loved, adored, worshiped, and admired by me. I love you, sweetheart.”
Hopper cleared his throat and blinked back tears. “And now the rings.”
Eddie took the black box from Dustin. He pulled out a gold band that had a sun and a moon with a diamond in the sun setting and a grey garnet in the moon setting. “With this ring, I thee wed.” He slipped it on Steve’s ring finger.
Steve looked at it in wonder, eyes filling with joyous tears. He took the white box from Robin and pulled out a black wrought iron ring with the same setting, only in the sun spot was a red garnet and in the moon’s was the diamond. “With this ring, I thee wed.” He slid it onto Eddie’s finger.
“By the authority vested in me,” Hopper concluded, “I pronounce you both husbands in the eyes of this congregation and God, husbands as long as you both shall live. You may now kiss the groom.”
Eddie grabbed Steve’s face in his hands and kissed him fiercely as Steve held on.
They broke off to laughter and tears. They walked back down the aisle to everyone throwing white rose petals over them as they past. Eddie and Steve laughed, skipping and giggling like children as their bridesmaids and groomsmen followed close behind.
*
The reception was the grand affair. All of Steve’s friends were there and all of Eddie’s connections in the music industry was there. Harri was almost one hundred percent sure he saw James Hetfield talking to famed baseball player Derek Jetter, but then someone past in front of him and they were both gone by the time Harri could see around the person again.
Harri walked up to Edie and bumped their shoulders together. “Who would have thought that over a year ago when you told me that you needed a new guitarist for your band, that it would lead to the wedding of the decade, between our two dads.”
She looked over at her dad who was trying to catch marshmallows with his mouth thrown by Dustin, Jane, and Eddie. He had come so far now that he was with the right therapist. Edie had started listening to her own more now too and was forced to admit she didn’t need to look after her dad because he could look after himself just fine.
“Best decision ever,” she agreed.
“Just two small town boys from each from different worlds clawing their way to make their own place in the world,” a warm voice said behind them.
Edie and Harri turned to see Wayne Munson standing there in a nice grey suit having changed for the reception, hands in his pockets.
“Grandpa Wayne!” Harri cried and threw his arms around him. “It’s been so great having you around these last couple of weeks.”
Wayne reached out with one arm for Edie who promptly snuggled up too.
“Does this mean you’re my grandpa now, too?” she whispered.
Wayne kissed the top of her head. “Of course it does. Steve was always mine married to Eddie or not. Even if we hadn’t spoken in decades, Stevie was always mine.”
“You’re going to make me cry for the tenth time,” Steve said coming up to them, hand in hand with Eddie, “if you keep saying things like that.”
Wayne waved his hands. “Come on, I still arms enough for you two.”
Steve and Eddie joined the Wayne hug and sighed happily.
“Hey!” Jonathan said, “Picture?”
They all lined up, Wayne in the middle flanked by Eddie and Steve his side while Edie and Harri stood next to their dads.
Jonathan snapped the photo.
Steve came up and gave him a hug. “Thanks for agreeing to do the photos for us.”
Jonathan hugged back fiercely. “Not a problem, man. Saves me from having to buy you a toaster.”
Steve laughed. “Where’s your beautiful wife?”
Jonathan looked around and pointed to the punch bowl. “There she is. Bitching out Barbara Walters.”
Eddie laughed. “Sounds about right.”
Harri looked over at her and cocked his head. “Hey, Dad. She looks a lot like you.”
Jonathan and Eddie shared a panicked expression.
“Well, you see...” Eddie said as Steve threw his head back and laughed.

During his recovery, Billy takes up knitting. He starts small, with dish clothes and scarves, but once Susan, Joyce, and Claudia’s kitchens are filled to the brim with knitted kitchenwares, he moves onto hats. Soon, the head of everyone he knows is ready for a long Indiana winter.
He decides his next challenge is going to be sweaters. He’s not going to lie, it’s a big move from hats. So many dropped stitches, so many times he’s had a pounding headache from trying to understand the instructions on the pattern, so many moments where he wants to throw the needles and yarn and give up.
But eventually, he completes one sweater. Which just happens to be in Steve Harrington’s size. And which just happens to be in varying shades of browns and yellows and oranges. Which just happen to bring out Steve’s eye colour. But Billy definitely didn’t spend any time thinking about that.
He finally ties off the last knot on a hot July afternoon, and even though just the thought of presenting the monstrosity to Harrington makes his heart beat faster and his stomach fill with butterflies, he resolves to give it to him the next time he visits.
***
The next afternoon, Steve arrives, looking beautiful as ever, bearing a new supply of library books for Billy to read through.
They sit and they talk, and Billy thinks Steve might even be flirting with him at one point when he tells him his hospital gown brings out the blue in Billy’s eyes. That bolsters his confidence, and he pulls the sweater out, handing it to Steve.
Steve holds it up to himself, a grin on his face. “For me?”
“Uh yeah,” Billy says, rubbing the back of his neck and feeling the tips of his ears burning red. “But you don’t need to wear it if you don’t want to. If it’s not your thing.”
“Of course, it’s my thing, Billy. I love it.” He takes Billy’s hand in his own. “Thank you.”
On the way out, he kisses Billy’s cheek. Technically, it’s their first kiss. Billy knows it doesn’t count, but he’s totally counting it anyway.
***
July moves into August, and Billy and Steve move into a relationship. Billy’s never been happier, but he always wonders about the sweater. Logically, he knows it’s too hot to wear it yet, so that’s probably why he hasn’t seen Steve in it, but another part of his brain tells him that Steve hates it and he’s embarrassed by it. This idea is bolstered by the fact that more than once, Billy’s tried to find the sweater in Steve’s closet and dresser drawers, but it’s nowhere to be found.

It’s not until the first crisp autumn day in late September that Billy walks into Family Video and finds Steve in the sweater. It droops only the armpits and the sleeves are too long and the dropped stitches are glaringly obvious, but Steve still pulls it off wonderfully under his green work vest.
Billy’s perusing the horror section, right up near the front, when a customer approaches the cash. From the sound of the conversation between Steve and the middle aged woman, it seems to be an acquaintance of Steve’s mother.
“What an interesting sweater,” the customer states, after they’ve exhausted talking about his mom.
Steve smiles bright at the backhanded compliment. “Yeah, isn’t it great? It was a gift!”
“Oh wow,” the woman says, eyes wide. “You must really like this girl to wear that in public.”
“I sure do,” Steve says, polite as can be. “In fact, I love them.” He looks right at Billy as he says this, and Billy’s heart soars right out of his chest.
The woman leaves and Billy approaches the checkout counter, his face still burning. “Did you mean what you told that woman? You love me?”
“Um yeah, Steve replies, a shy smile on his face. “Is that ok?”
Billy has to laugh at that. “Is that ok? It’s more than ok, pretty boy. It’s all I’ve wanted for so long. And for the record, I love you too. And thank you for defending my sweater. I didn’t see it anywhere in your house, and I was beginning to worry that you hated it.”
Steve takes his hand. “Hate it Bills? How could I hate this Billy Hargrove original, hand crafted just for me? It was in my mom’s cedar chest. I have to protect treasures like this.” He looks right into Billy’s eyes as he says it, and Billy knows he’s not just talking about the sweater.
He takes a minute to pepper Steve’s face with kisses behind the cover of the action section, before telling the other boy he has to go. He has more knit ware to plan.

Chapter 22: Coarse, rough, and gets everywhere
-After dealing with the Yellow Wind demon, the gang ventured forth in this fine autumn season, only to be blocked by the Flowing Sand River, 800 li wide and full of Weak Water.
"What, exactly, is a Weak Water? Are there like, Strong Water?"
-As the poem suggested, Weak Water(弱水) refers to water that has no buoyancy, and anything that fall in would just sink, even a feather. Record of such strange water appeared first in the Book of Mountain and Sea; it surrounds Mt. Kunlun, the abode of Queen Mother of the West, and Book of Late Han also stated that Weak Water and quicksand could be found near QMoW's dwelling.
-These tales could be inspired by IRL geography, where a lot of the rivers in western China, bc they are flowing through plateaus or deserts, are very shallow in depth and regular boats would just capsize inside. When non-native ppl saw those rivers that couldn't be traversed by boats, they thought the water itself has no buoyancy.
Tumblr media
-Also, there was a portion of Gobi Desert the historical Xuanzang crossed, 莫贺延碛, which had the alternate name "Sand River"; in Xuanzang's biography, this was also where he was awoken from his thirst-addled sleep by an unnamed great deity. Much like how this desert deity would later evolve into Sandy, the "Sand River" would also become a literal river in the JTTW story cycle.
-We learn the real reason SWK isn't good at underwater combat: he either needs to use one hand to cast a Water-repelling Spell in order to move freely, or transforms into an aquatic critter, both of which would get in the way of wielding his staff.
-Hmmm, why couldn't he just grow a third arm (sth he's obviously capable of, given his fight with Nezha) and use it to maintain the spell while bashing some aquatic demons' head in? Maybe only 1 concentration spell is allowed at a time, D&D style...
-I feel like we've all wondered what the job of "Curtain-raising General" entails—is he like, literally the guy at the gate who lifted those fancy bead-curtains every time a celestial came through? Well, kinda. Not really.
-"Curtain-raising" is actually an important part of Daoist rituals. Before the sacrificial offerings began, there were curtains covering statues on the altars, and only after it was believed that the gods in question had arrived to court were the curtains lifted(literally or metaphorically), and the priests able to present their prayers to them.
-Here is a video of the "Curtain-raising Charm", performed by Quanzhen Daoists:
youtube
-So Sandy's job is less gate guard, and more of an announcer of JE's court sessions. This is my personal take, but I feel like part of why the punishment for him breaking a cup was so harsh was bc he was an official specialized in court rituals and propriety, so he should've known better than to jeopardize such an important event.
-We also learn the answer to another question many have asked: "Why can't SWK just fly Tripitaka to Vulture Peak on his somersault cloud?" Turns out, a mortal's body was too heavy to be carried on clouds, and though the Yu translation was slightly wonky here, ordinary demons could summon a magical wind for fast-travel and kidnapping, but they were still staying close to the ground and not truly high-up in the air.
(Also, if he could, we wouldn't have a 100 chapter story.)
-Finally, some internal alchemy stuff relating to Sandy from my annotated Chinese edition: during the fight between Pigsy and Sandy, the latter was referred to as the Spatula, 刀圭. The second character, made of 2 characters for "Earth" stacked on top of each other, was later broken into "Two-Earths" in referral to Sandy again.
-In internal alchemy, Earth represents ideation/determination, specifically, that of attaining immortality. When the ideation stills, it is known as "Yin-Earth", and when it stirs, the "Yang-Earth", collectively referred to as "Two-Earths". It functions as the catalyst and meditator between the Spiritual Mind(Wood) and Vital Energy(Metal), which must come together and mingle during cultivation to form the Golden Elixir.
-Thus, Sandy's soon-to-be role as the Only Sane Man and meditator between SWK and Pigsy.

The Rest Is History
Part 2
A Shadow and Bone Modern AU
Pairing: Aleksander Morozov x Fem!Reader
Summary: You join Aleksander for the private viewing of his grandfather’s collection at the Os Alta Museum of Art. Aleksander shows you the perks of knowing the staff.
Warnings [18+]: smut, protected sex, semi-public sex, dirty talk, praise kink, little bit of size kink, soft dom!Aleksander because of course, plenty of teasing
Tumblr media
You sit on the steps of the museum, waiting for Aleksander to arrive. He had offered to pick you up, but you had insisted that you were already coming into the city centre for the day, so there was no need. Now that you’re sitting waiting you begin to regret not taking him up on his offer. At least then you wouldn’t be waiting here anxiously in the cold.
You pull your coat tighter around your body, and hope that Aleksander arrives soon. It had taken a long time for you to settle on an appropriate outfit for today. Aleksander had insisted that semi-formal would be fine, and that as long as you were comfortable he would be happy. You had decided on a white sundress with pink flowers - the one that Aleksander mentioned was his favourite.
Since you’re already watching the people passing by on the pavement, you spot Aleksander before he sees you. He’s wearing a long coat, with a thin grey jumper, and some well fitted, black trousers. Along with the leather bag hung over his shoulder, he looks very much like the Professor Morozov you used to pine over in college.
His brows are furrowed together as he watches the road, waiting for a break in the traffic before he crosses briskly over. You stand up, hoping that it’ll help him to spot you.
His entire face lights up when he finally does. You can’t fight the smile that grows on your lips in response. You see him look you up and down, eyes taking in every inch of your outfit.
“Is this okay?” You ask, your fingers playing with the soft skirt of the dress as nerves take ahold of you. Aleksander dips his head down, pressing his lips against yours. A sound of surprise escapes your throat, but it’s successfully muffled by his kiss.
One of his hands cups your face, the other slides under your coat to pull you closer, and the heat of his body soon chases the chilly autumn air from your skin.
When he pulls away you’re breathless.
“You look beautiful.”
His words are reassuring, but his eyes are dark with a longing that has a shiver running down your spine. He kisses you again.
“And if we didn’t have somewhere to be,” he continues, pressing a kiss on your jaw, before he breathes his next words against your neck. “I would show you exactly how beautiful you are.”
You blink a few times when he pulls away.
“There’s always later.” You concede. Aleksander laughs, cupping your cheeks in both hands as he gives your lips one more tender kiss.
“Shall we?” He asks, gesturing towards the entrance, and you nod.
You’ve only climbed a few steps before you speak again.
“You know, you could have told me it was your grandfather’s collection that was being revealed today.” You remark as you slide your arm around his waist. Aleksander drapes his arm over your shoulders and he ducks his head lightly, the tips of his ears turning a rosy pink.
“I was worried you’d think I was showing off.”
“Are you?” He shakes his head.
“My mother always insists that I come to functions like these. I thought some company would be nice.”
“You mean you don’t like pretentious art critics and snobby rich people?” You pretend to gape in shock, and Aleksander laughs. The sound of his laugh alone has warmth blooming from your chest down to the tips of your toes.
Henri, the designated tour guide, is most definitely the kind of pretentious snob you had been expecting to see today. He leads the small group of exclusive guests through the collection, pausing at each painting to give his thoughts which he states as confidently as if they were facts.
You and Aleksander stay at the back of the group. Mostly so that Aleksander can avoid the spotlight, but also because you can hardly control the bemused look in your eyes when you hear Henri’s explanations.
It’s as the group is passing through a small hallway that Aleksander leans down to quietly prompt you.
“Your thoughts, milaya?”
“No offence, but I think your grandfather had some issues.”
Aleksander chuckles warmly, before remarking,
“I don’t doubt it.” He links his arm with yours, and pulls you close to his side as the group moves towards the next painting.
You tilt your head as you study the painting. The darkness of it is the first thing you notice. Morozov used a variety of different shades of black and very dark grey to paint what can only be described as a hoard of vicious monsters. It takes you a moment to recognise what they are. Volcra. Terrifying creatures that are said to haunt the Fold.
The Fold is a large canyon that divides East and West Ravka. In Ravkan mythology, the Black Heretic was said to have created the Fold, as well as the monsters that preyed upon anyone who dared to venture into its depths.
Your brow crinkles when Henri describes the painting as one of Morozov’s more hopeful pieces. Aleksander chuckles softly at your look of skepticism.
“It’s rather obvious, love.” Aleksander murmurs teasingly. “The whites of their eyes are pinpricks of hope. The light at the end of the tunnel.” You hum, unconvinced.
“Or they’re your first glimpse of heaven after those monsters have clawed your heart out.”
Aleksander laughs, which turns a few heads and you flush with embarrassment.
Once the viewing is over, Aleksander encourages you to have a look at the other collections since the museum is closed for the day. He assures you that he will come and find you once he’s done his part as Morozov’s grandson. You agree.
It isn’t long before Aleksander has escaped the socialites and returns to your side.
“I see you’ve found my namesake.” He says lightly, wrapping his arms around your waist and chest as he pulls you back against his body and the two of you look at the painting you had been admiring.
“You’re named after General Aleksander of Kirigan?” He nods. “Didn’t he lead a bloody coup that ended up killing, like, a lot of people?”
“4764 recorded deaths.” You roll your eyes playfully at his need to inform you, before remarking teasingly,
“Forgive me, Professor.” His lips press against your jawline, teeth scraping over your skin in a warning that makes you shiver. You decide to change the subject, “I thought you’d been named after Sankt Aleksander.” He raises a brow at you,
“The Black Heretic?”
“He wasn’t just the Black Heretic, he’s known as the Starless Saint too.” You argue, then you add quietly, “It was one of my favourite stories as a child.” He squeezes you softly.
“Will you tell it to me?”
“It’s just a children’s story.”
“My mother never had the time for stories. When I was four, she believed I was old enough to handle myself. She dismissed the nannies, and gave me a tutor for my lessons. My time for playing and stories was all too brief.” Your heart breaks for the man beside you, as well as the small boy he used to be.
“Aleksander…” He turns, and must see it on your face, because he attempts to reassure you.
“It’s alright milaya. I’ve lived a privileged life, I know that. I’m far luckier than most.”
“Doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to be taken care of.”
“You want to take care of me milaya?” He says teasingly, and you smile at him as you press your face against his chest. Your arms curl around him, squeezing as you mumble,
“Yes I do.”
He presses a kiss to the crown of your head, and you feel the warmth of it settle through your body. You glance up at him, meeting his eyes before you speak,
“Once upon a time,” Aleksander breathes out a small laugh but he doesn’t stop you. “Magic and mankind lived in peace with one another in the land we now call Ravka.”
Aleksander listens intently, as he pulls you into walking through the quiet gallery with him.
“But one day, the human king grew jealous of the magic users. He threatened to lock them all away, and steal their magic for himself.”
Aleksander’s finger curl around yours as you walk by a series of sculptures, and you swing his hand affectionately as your footsteps echo over the floor.
“Sankt Aleksander was one of the few brave enough to stand up against the king. He created the Fold, splitting Ravka in two, to ensure that magic would always be protected.”
The two of you look at a large painting, titled ‘The Fold’. A beautiful meadow, with a colossal wall of shadows lurking in the distance. Artists had always been rather fond of depicting the Fold as a thing of evil.
“The king sent parties into the Fold, but soon the tales of monsters spread and no one dared to venture into their depths. Both kingdoms suffered due to their separation, and it was said that only a Sun Summoner could survive the Fold and unite Ravka.”
“Santka Alina of the Fold.” Aleksander says, and you nod.
“That’s where her story comes from, and where Sankt Aleksander’s story becomes less certain. Some versions say they fell in love, some say he died in the Fold along with Sankta Alina as a sacrifice.”
“Which version is your favourite?” He asks you, and a small smile tugs at your lips.
“I like the one where they bring peace to Ravka, and he’s free to exist in the shadows watching over mankind. The story is supposed to help children who are afraid of the dark.”
His expression is soft as he regards you, but there’s an intensity in his eyes that has you looking at the closest painting you can find. He tugs lightly on your hand, and frown at him as he pulls you further down the hall.
“Where are we going?” You ask with a small laugh.
“I believe there should be a few paintings of Sankt Aleksander here.”
He stops in front of one of them, and his arms curl around your waist as you look at it together. Sankt Aleksander’s face is shrouded in shadow, a dark hood covering most of his features. Inky pools of darkness curl around his fingers, and above his head lies his symbol - the sun in eclipse.
“You know, I think I can see a resemblance.” You remark teasingly and Aleksander rolls his eyes, before swatting your thigh playfully. Warmth blooms over your skin as he leans close to your ear.
“Behave.”
You don’t have time to respond before he’s pulling you to the next painting, and the blush coating your skin burns brighter.
“Do you see any resemblance now, milaya?” He says coyly as you stare at the painting. You swallow hard.
Sankt Aleksander and his wife, Sankta Luda, are spread across the canvas in front of you, tangled in one another’s arms. Unlike the previous painting, Sankt Aleksander’s features are detailed. Very detailed. You have to admit, the painting and Aleksander share several features. The dark eyes and dark hair. The smooth skin and lean muscles.
The piece is titled ‘The Coupling of Saints’. The two bodies are draped across a bed, and surrounding the edge of the painting are curling vines and flowers that are purposefully out of focus. It makes you feel as though you are watching something too intimate for mortal eyes. But you can’t look away from Sankt Aleksander, as his image brings forth thoughts of your own Aleksander. Of him draping you over the bed like that, of his eyes fixated on you like you’re the only thing in the world.
“You’ve gone awfully warm milaya.” He coos softly in your ear, and you shiver at the feeling of his breath on your neck. His arms are still around you, holding you flush against his body.
There’s the sound of footsteps echoing from a nearby hallway, and Aleksander lifts his head from the crook of your neck.
“Henri?” He calls out, and you see the young man’s head appear from around a sculpture of two lovers embracing. “Ensure that we’re not disturbed.” Aleksander says in a tone that leaves no room for questioning. You press your thighs together at the authority in his voice.
The heavy wooden doors echo as Henri shuts them behind him, leaving you and Aleksander alone in the main hall of the gallery. He nuzzles his nose against your cheek, and you sigh softly with a smile.
“I think you scared the poor boy.”
“He’s only a few years younger than you.” He presses a kiss to your neck, and you know he can feel your pulse pounding under his lips as he sucks a mark onto your skin.
He hands slide over your body, squeezing at your breasts, tracing along your sides, before wrestling with the fabric of your skirt.
“What are you doing?”
“An entire week, I’ve been deprived of your body. Will you let me have you?” Heat pools between your thighs, but your head refuses to quiet it’s concerns.
“Here?”
“No one will come in.” He assures you. “It’s just you and me now.”
He stills, one hand curled around your thigh, the other cupping your breast as he waits for your consent. You nod, but he still doesn’t move. You know what he’s waiting for.
“Yes Aleksander.” You breathe out in a sigh, and his hand slides up your thigh, underneath your dress.
“I knew you wanted this.” He murmurs against your throat as he presses a melody of kisses along your bare skin. “Wearing nothing underneath your dress, practically begging for me to touch you.”
His palm presses firm against your mound as he cups your unclothed pussy, and you gasp, trying to rock into his touch. Your head drops back against his shoulder, and you force yourself to concentrate on your words.
“The bra I’m wearing, is part of a matching set.” He lifts his head up, eyes meeting yours as you smirk. “It appears someone has stolen the panties.”
He undoes the two buttons at the front of your dress, before the small sleeves are being pushed from your shoulders to reveal your bra to him. To his delight, it does indeed match the pair you were wearing the last time you saw one another. The pair that is currently sitting in his bedside drawer at home.
With a wicked grin, he reaches around and unclasps your bra. The chilly air of the gallery has your nipples hardening instantly, and a warm flush bursts under your skin. You know that Aleksander wouldn’t be doing this if he thought you would be disturbed, you know there’s no one here to see you, but it still feels so public.
He drops your bra into his leather bag that sits open and waiting on the bench behind you.
Aleksander turns your body around, so that you’re facing him, and you reach up to tangle your hands in his hair. He groans into your mouth as you share a hurried, passionate kiss. His hands grasp at your breasts, rolling your hard nipples between his fingers and you arch into his touch with a stifled moan.
“Don’t be quiet moya milaya.” His voice is rough, his accent more pronounced, and you can’t stop the whimper from leaving your lips as his finger traces over your wet slit. He breathes out a small laugh. “That’s it.”
He slides his finger inside you in one clean motion, and you cry out. He groans, pushing another finger in as you cling to him with an iron grip.
“Still as tight as before.” He says roughly, then his voice softens as he coos, “Haven’t you played with yourself since then?”
You whine, and nod.
“You have?”
“My fingers aren’t as big as yours.” You say weakly, and a pout puckers at your lips as you remember the nights of frustration as your body refused to climax. You whine when he pulls his fingers out of your pussy, but you soon stop when you see the look on his face. His jaw tenses and he walks you backwards. Soon your back is against the wall, and a shiver runs through your body as the cold plaster chills your flushed skin.
“Part your legs for me milaya.” You do as he says, and he hooks his hands underneath your knees. Soon your face is level his throat, and you lean forwards, leaving your own marks on his skin. His forehead presses against the wall beside you, and he slides his fingers back into you. When his thumb ghosts against your clit you cry out his name. “Good girl.”
Your fingers curl tight into the soft fabric of the jumper he’s wearing, and you try to tug him closer.
“Aleksander, please. I need you.”
“You have me, milaya.”
“No, I need-“ You grit your teeth as a cry of frustration bubbles in your throat. He tilts his head aside, his nose brushing tenderly against your temple whilst his fingers continue to rock into you.
“Breathe, my love. Tell me what you need.” Dizzying warmth floods through your body, and you feel no shame as you gasp,
“Your cock, Aleksander, please.” His thumb rubs in circles over your clit as a reward, and you shudder in his arms as you plead, “Need your cock inside me.”
Aleksander pulls a condom out of his back pocket and you can’t suppress the tingle of warmth between your legs because of it. Because Aleksander had prepared to fuck you this morning when he had dressed in his probably designer trousers.
There’s the sound of a zipper, and Aleksander’s trousers and boxers are soon lying around his ankles. He tears the wrapper off the condom, and slides it on his cock. Then the head of his cock strokes against your entrance, and a thrill of anticipation runs through you. Aleksander spreads you impossibly wide, and your knees brush against the wall.
He presses a kiss to your cheek.
“Good girl. Are you ready?” You nod hurriedly.
“Yes Aleksander, plea-oh!” You cry out as he finally pushes inside you. There’s stars in your eyes, and you’re already feeling delightfully overwhelmed. Aleksander is all you see, hear, and feel. And what a sight he is.
A few dark strands of hair hang over his forehead, and his dark eyes take in every inch of you, scouring your face for any discomfort. He breathes out a smile when he sees the bliss on your face.
His lips part as he breathes heavily, and you whine when he pulls out. Only for him to push back into you, and you cry out as he drives himself deeper into your clenching pussy. You tip your head back, thudding lightly against the wall as you moan.
“Are you alright, love?” Aleksander watches you carefully, and you whine. His concern is sweet, but you need him too badly. Hooking one leg around his hip, you try to coax him even closer.
“Harder, please.” He quirks a brow, and smirks darkly, as if his soft words and gentle motions were merely ploys to make you beg for what you both want.
“Harder?” You nod.
It’s only then that understand what harder truly means. You cry out Aleksander’s name, your voice echoing through the hall, but you don’t care. Not when he’s filling spaces inside you you never thought someone could reach. Not when his cock is brushing delightfully against your walls.
He moans when you tighten around him subconsciously, and you want to hear that noise again. He growls when you purposefully clench, one of his hands moving from your hips to wrap around your throat. He doesn’t squeeze, he simply holds your head in place to lock eyes with you.
“Look at me,” he rasps. “Look at me when you cum. I want to see you finish.”
You keep your legs curled tightly around his body as he reaches down to circle your clit, and you whimper at the extra stimulation. Your eyes flutter closed. Aleksander adjusts his hold on your neck, bringing your eyes back to his.
“Eyes on me.” He whispers, his brows drawn together. You know he’s close too.
It’s all too much. His dark eyes, staring into your own. The sound of your gasps and his moans, the sound of your hips meeting. His hand around your throat, a reminder that he’s in control. His thumb circling your clit, driving your body even closer to the edge.
You don’t look away as your eyes widen and pleasure fills every sense. Electricity tingles down your spine, spreading over your thighs, and you can no longer even feel your toes as they curl tight. Gasping his name, over and over as waves of pleasure roll through your body.
Aleksander presses his forehead hard against your collarbone, and with a few more thrusts into your soaked heat he stills with low groan.
You laugh shakily, and Aleksander lifts his head up before tilting it aside with curiosity in his eyes.
“What?” He breathes out, leaning forward to kiss you.
“I can’t believe we just did that.” He chuckles deeply and kisses you again. He sucks on your lower lip tenderly and a contented hum settles in your chest. Then you say quietly, “I don’t think I can walk.”
Aleksander smiles widely, and pulls out of you as gently as he can. You still whimper, especially when your legs slide down from his hips. His arms curl around you, steadying you as you wobble. You share a wide smile, and another kiss.
Closing your eyes, you feel Aleksander adjusting your dress, ensuring that everything is in the right place. Then he pulls out a handkerchief and does his best to clean up the mess between your thighs.
When you open your eyes again, Aleksander is buttoning up his trousers and looks far too put together already. Once you look closely, you see the flush lingering on his cheeks, and his kiss swollen lips. Warmth blooms in your chest at the sight of him, especially when he turns to you and smiles.
“I don’t know about you, but I’ve certainly worked up an appetite.” He says, and you laugh softly. “Lunch?”
You nod, and take his hand with a giddy smile as he leads you towards the exit.

let the game begins, let the truth be investigated: The elephant in the room is undeniable, yet no one can mention a word on it. Awhile the arrival of the NCR students finally has come, Adeline seems to be suspicious as each passing day, and we can only wonder… What is all of her attitude about? Now, that looks like a job for curious Isabelle!
warnings: Slight oc x canon
genre: Suspense
a/n: I legit forgot I had to write about this event, in my head, I ALREADY POST EVERYTHING (i am insane apparently)
Tumblr media
The halls of Royal Sword Academy had never been more crowded. Students from other dorms gathered around Rosantée reception towards the selected students for the Winter Raffle. Up on the top of the building, Adeline and Isabelle looked down brightly to their classmates and friends. Both headmages were already there waiting for the arrival of the rest of NCR.
Isabelle was wearing a red long coat with a blue bow in her hair as a ponytail, meanwhile Adeline had a huge dark green cape with darker rose partners at the bottom of if.
“Everyone’s attention!”
Isabelle stated but the chattering kept happening. Isabelle was really harsh sometimes when demanding attention. Whatsoever, she was pretty anxious as the first time hosting such a big event, so she couldn’t bring herself to speak louder in the microphone. Crowley stepped up so he could speak louder for the request of attention. But then the louder vice housewander spoke up first, without microphone, if that adds.
“ANYONE WHO DARES TO TALK WILL HAVE TO STAY ON THE SAME ROOM AS LEECH TWINS!” Suddenly no talk was no longer heard, which it was surprisingly for both headmages who look at each other in shock. Adeline takes the microphone. “Thank you for the comprehension.”
Isabelle gives a small scoff taking back the microphone.
“Dear classmates, we are happy to announce our first Winter Raffle after three years of waiting. The other dorms were happy to welcome Night Raven collage on last years summer raffle, the autumn raffle and spring raffle. Now, Rosantée is proud to have them over for our Winter Raffle!”
The students clap as Isabelle gives the microphone to headmage Ambrose. Who smile towards his students. “We will wait a little longer for the following student’s arrival…” Ambrose starts the list of who was able to participate on the tournament. Until, other names were caught into the ears of the main students. “…Ace Trappolla, Leona Kingscholar, Jamil Viper, Floyd Leech, Jack Howl, Rook Hunt…”
The list goes on and finally Ambrose says who is going to represent Night Raven College in the raffle. “And for our represents: One side, we will have Rosantée, represented by Isabelle Desrosiers!” The students clap at Rosantée housewander. But when was the vice housewander turn, there was a short silence… A weird one. “And Adeline Rosique!” As mentioned, the weird silence comes up, Fauna looks over to Audette, Lucien, Poppy, Aurellius, Lucie and Che’nya. And then up to Adeline, who seemed confused by the sudden atmosphere. Until Che’nya helps the crowd to clap for Adeline, who shallowed the hard, stepping to Isabelle’s side.
Crowley slightly shoved Ambrose to the side awhile taking the microphone. “And for the represents of Night Raven College: Malleus Draconia,” Adeline’s eyes immediately lightened up. “And: Adriano Mélombre. Both of our Diasomnia students.” Her smile goes away. Instantly.
Awhile the students clapped, the now could only wait for the carriage bringing the students in the old fashioned way.
“Sir headmage, a word.” Adeline says motioning for Ambrose to follow her, the headmage nods, his worried look and nervous mannerism was clear.
Isabelle waited a bit for following both of them, she goes inside hearing muffled cheering from outside the closed dorm door. The students probably already arrived. But, that wasn’t that important.
She goes down stairs in her tip toes, on the big kitchen where the smell of prepared meals for the guests were ready.
“Mister Ambrose, with all duo respect, have you not checked who would Crowley be choosing as represents?”
Ambrose sighs, shaking his head. “No, and I am deeply sorry for the inconvenient, Rosique. Yet, there’s nothing we can do it about it for now.” Adeline was about to protest. “Just… Keep close to Draconia. I am sure he will have his eye opened for Mélombre.”
Isabelle raised her eyebrow, awhile eavesdropping the conversation. Before having a hot feeling close to her, and hearing a loud breathing. She looks behind to see Leona, and as a reflex she gasps and he covers her mouth. Alarming the headmage and the student inside the kitchen. Adeline makes her way to the door opening it… But no one was found in the halls, as she shruggs going back inside.
What she wasn’t able to see was the tall lion beast covering the mouth of the short human with a unamused look, hidden further inside the hall. As she giggles in a nervous tone really quietly. After all, this is their first meeting, after their kiss…

A Court of Tangled Flames - Chapter 21
(TW: Although they (finally) bang, there are scenes of abuse towards Eris/his mother/an animal so please be mindful of this and avoid if it if you need to).
p.s. Merry Christmas
The glorious morning lasted all of one hour before a deluge of rain met them. Thick grey clouds blanketed the Autumn Court. No matter what village they went to, they received a soaking. The residents were good enough to invite them into lofty halls or warm temples but Nesta’s stockings clung to her damp feet. Eris had kept a canopy of fire blazing above their head which competed against the rain. On the whole, it had kept her dry until the rain decided it would fall sideways in a mist that could only be stopped if Eris encased them both entirely in flame.
The actual day was as exciting as Eris promised it would be. She was overrun with new faces and names, questions about the state of the court and relations with their neighbouring courts, demands to know if there would be tax increases or decreases with the turn of the year. Eris was steadfast through it all, giving enough truth to keep them subdued, but Nesta was woefully out of depth in terms of the politics of running a court. She made a silent vow to double down on her studies with Maceo – and to take a keener interest in Eris’ reign. After all, she planned to be beside him.
When they arrived back to the Forest House, Nesta was chilled to the bone. Eris had forgone drying himself off, preferring to help her undress and wrap her in a soft gown while her body warmed up. His fire blazed. It seemed out of control from the size of it, but Nesta knew his restraint with magic had an accuracy she’d not seen before. He was merely blasting it to near-inferno levels in the hearth to heat the room quicker.
The male was half-way out of his own soaked shirt when a sharp rap at the door came. Whoever it was knew better than to dare walk in.
She remained in the bedroom with the door slightly ajar, listening in on the conversation.
The low, rough tones of Phelan’s voice could be heard followed by a male’s voice that she didn’t know.
Eris closed the door with a firm hand then returned to the bedroom. ‘I have to go.’
‘What is it? Something bad?’
There was a gravity to his expression that made Nesta’s stomach tie itself in knots. Noticing the fall of her own face, Eris cradled his hand against her cheek. ‘It’s alright. My father has summoned all of us to the border. A skirmish with Spring.’
‘What if you’re hurt?’
‘Then you can tend to my wounds like a doting wife and kiss them better.’ Eris pressed his lips against her temple, soft enough to make her heart flutter. ‘I’ll be back before morning. Make sure you eat dinner.’ For a moment, Eris stopped as if contemplating something then he pulled on a plain, dark tunic. ‘With all of the Vanserra males gone, you can walk the Forest House freely if you wish. I know one female here who would be glad of company.’
The offer was laid out for her with no pressure to take it. A thoughtful suggestion from a male who measured every decision in his life.
‘See you later.’
‘Stay safe. Don’t lose any important limbs.’
Unable to leave her without another goodbye, Eris wrapped Nesta into his arms, squeezing her tight enough to shoot the air out of her chest. ‘Dinner. Don’t forget.’
Nesta imagined them setting out on horseback, charging through the forest, armour gleaming against the streaking rain like the horsemen of the Wild Hunt, summoned by Beron – a call none could refuse.
Worry churned her gut like an unwanted gift. Eris was the general of the army. The male had fought in the last war – and likely had fought many battles. But he was her husband now. Her life was tied to his so whatever storm Eris sailed through, Nesta followed. That was the vow they had made to each other before the Mother.
When her stress drove her to agitation, Nesta left the walls of their rooms to seek out her mother-in-law. Nesta had never been a shy and retiring flower prone to pussyfooting around. She sought out the nearest servant who jolted at her approach and demanded to know Eliška’s location. The brittleness of her tone all stemmed from worry for Eris. She didn’t trust his brothers for one moment, much less his father.
With only her guards for company, the Lady of the Autumn Court tended to an orchid. Against the backdrop of a darkened forest with the soft tap-tapping of the rain upon the glass, she was positively bewitching. Her gown – the colour of blood – swept behind her. Gold was threaded into her thick, dark hair that tumbled down her spine. As she moved amongst the raised beds, single twisting flames followed like lanterns to illuminate her way. Her power was special. Almost absent thought, more flames drifted from her hands to replace the ones that had had extinguished on their ascent towards the roof.
‘Are you well, Nesta?’ She asked, turning on the spot to meet her gaze.
In the absence of her husband – and sons – her shoulders had loosened. The rigid mask she wore had slipped into a softer one, more at ease in herself.
‘I wondered if we could dine together.’
Nesta trailed her, the queen without a crown, as she led the way to her private rooms. It was intimidating to enter the room where Beron slept. She couldn't imagine the high lord doing anything as vulnerable as sleeping yet even monsters had to rest, she supposed.
Once the food was placed on the small table beside the window, her mother-in-law shooed away the servants and sentries, despite warnings from sentries not to be alone with Nesta. The accusation stung. She was not callous enough to marry Eris then wheedle her way into the Autumn Court with the sole purpose of killing its lady. Though complacency, she supposed, got you killed.
‘I do not know what you enjoy so I apologise if it does not suit you.’
Nesta stared down at the chicken breast stuffed with asparagus and cheese on a bed of crunchy salad leaves. It was a fine meal. She reflected on her life in the cabin where they’d resorted to eating stringy bits of squirrel and rabbit boiled into a broth. They had days where they added more and more water to stretch it a bit further.
‘It is delicious, thank you.’
The expanse between them went on and on. What could she say to a female who had suffered so much? There was no hope that Nesta could offer to her. No promise of a good future. Beyond that, Nesta had little experience interacting with ruling monarchs beyond snapping at the mortal queens in her home. Since the day Tamlin had broken down their door, life had felt make-believe. There were days where Nesta still got a shock when she saw her pointed ears in the mirror, days she thought she would wake up clinging to the edge of a lumpy mattress with Elain and Feyre for company. Her life shouldn’t have included speaking with fae nobility.
‘I daresay these last couple of years have brought about a lot of change for you, Nesta. And not all of it welcome.’
A lump wedged itself in her throat.
‘I was twenty-one when the Forest House became my home. After all the time that has passed since then, I still miss my sisters and long for our home in the mountains.’
‘Do your sisters visit?’
Eliška’s russet eyes flickered towards the dense canopy outside. ‘No. They no longer walk this land.’ She gave a sorry smile to Nesta then inclined her head. ‘I was the eldest of three too. There are heavy burdens placed on the shoulders of an elder daughter.’
From that beginning, their conversation opened up like the first sunrise after a cruel winter that thawed out the earth. Long after their dinner had been eaten, the two of them continued talking. She shared stories of her life, ashamed still of the humble middle years in a cabin though it had been through no fault of her own. Nesta was never pushed to talk of the Cauldron, but she did so anyway because she needed somebody soft to listen, somebody who would sympathise and not cast judgement. Her mother-in-law took her hand, listening in keenly with tears welling in her russet eyes.
They even spoke of Lucien and Elain.
Nesta got the sense that to speak of her youngest caused unseen wounds yet Eliška was powerless to not think of him. Lucien was her son, a son she missed terribly. Nesta tried not to cloud her judgement of Elain. They had both suffered together, but when Elain had began to flourish once more in the Night Court, that was when Nesta had wilted.
‘How do you do it?’ She wondered, hand stroking the soft head of the hound who had settled on her lap. ‘Eris has been gone for a couple of hours and I’m frozen with fear about his safety.’
‘It never gets easier. And when you have lost sons…’ Her voice trailed away. ‘I never know if they’ll all come home.’
‘What was Eris like when he was small? Five hundred years is still incomprehensible to me.’
The lady of the court pondered the question for a while, her lips slightly parted. ‘A shy child. His confidence is a learned method. He was always quiet, very studious. He loved animals. I’d often find him out in the forest with a frog in his hand or he was always in the stables with the horses. We caught him once with a clutch of eggs in his room. The nest had fallen from a tree. He was trying to incubate the eggs. Eris couldn’t bear the thought of them dying.’
Nesta tried to imagine a younger version of him, but it was difficult to imagine him as anything more than the self-assured male whose confidence could come across as arrogance.
Against her temples, she could feel a pressure. Not a pain, but a feeling that shouldn’t have been there like food trapped between teeth that demanded to be noticed.
Let me in, Nesta. Let me show you.
It was her mother-in-law’s voice, brushing against her mind. A gentle caress that lent itself as an invitation. She was a daemati. Did Eris know?
Then Nesta was in the same room as she’d previously been sat in but the sun streamed in through the open windows. She was seeing it from Eliška’s eyes, many years earlier.
A small, red head nestled against a rounded stomach as Eliška leant back on a velvet couch. He’d wedged himself in against the back, bare toes wiggling as they hung off the end. A child’s hand lay on her stomach then the head shot up, shock and awe brightening his amber eyes.
‘I felt it!’
‘There. You just needed to be patient.’
Eris pressed his ear back against his mother’s belly, listening in keenly for another sign of the babe within her womb. ‘I hope she’s a girl,’ Eris whispered.
‘Your father would like another son.’
He couldn’t have been more than seven, but Nesta caught the worry seizing his expression. Another son meant a spare for the heir. It rendered Eris disposable. His mother stroked her hand through his untidy, red hair.
‘Come now. You know you will always be my first born. You have always taken up the most room in my heart. You will have my heart for the longest.’
The scene shifted and Nesta felt as if a hook had pierced itself through her stomach.
Eliška hurried down a set of stone steps that she recognised as the entrance to the Forest House. Her feet scurried over the hard ground.
Eris was older, but not by much. He lay on his back, mud and blood streaking his face. Tears tracked through the grime. Red hair fell to his chin in messy waves. The boiled leather he wore was polished until it shined.
The master-at-arms loomed over him with a wooden sword in his hand. The man was colossal – as big as Cassian; the sword could have been made of a cloud and he’s still have caused damage with it.
‘Up,’ Beron barked from his post at the edge of the ring.
By some miracle, Eris forced himself to rise on shaking legs.
It didn’t take long until the elder male had smacked him back against the ground despite Eris’ efforts to defend himself.
‘Stop this nonsense,’ Eliška cried. Nesta had never heard her voice with such an authority ringing out in it. More than authority, there was fury there too.
She bypassed her husband, bypassed the sentries watching, and went straight to her son. Eris sobbed in her arms. Just a small boy who needed his mother.
‘Get away from him,’ Beron snarled.
Nesta couldn’t believe he would dare, but the high lord wrenched back his wife by the shoulder. She lost her balance and staggered onto her backside into the mud. Thank the Mother that her second child must have already been delivered. The lady of the court was still young herself, barely older than Nesta. The court sat on the cusp of war with Hybern and she had two young children to protect.
‘Don’t hurt her!’ Eris barely had a chance to get his words out, leaping to his mother’s defence, before Beron had pushed him away with the command not speak to him. He hit the floor hard, splitting open his lip.
‘He must learn, as I learned, as my father learned – as every male in the Vanserra line learned.’ Beron was younger. The cruel lines of his face were less pronounced, but there was no mistaking the malice in his eyes towards his wife for daring to go against his order in public. Was this the first time he had placed a hand on her?
‘To what end, Beron? You will break him. He is our son.’ She clutched his hands, imploring her husband to see reason. That would have required Beron having any sort of morality.
His top lip curled. Over her shoulder, he called to a sentry, ‘fetch his pup.’
Eris hadn’t protested. His eyes had merely gone wide, face as pale as death as he waited. Even the lady of the court had fallen silent in disbelief.
When the sentry returned, he held a small, grey smokehound pup by the scruff of its neck out to Beron.
‘Don’t do this to him.’
‘He’s weak,’ Beron spat. ‘Too much time spent in his mother’s skirts than learning how to be a male.’ Beron pressed the dog into Eris’ trembling hands. ‘Kill it. Take the knife and kill it.’
When Eris still hadn’t reached out for his father’s knife, Beron forced it into his hand. Still, he did not move. The puppy squirmed in his grip. Nesta could feel her own heart breaking as he murmured softly to the dog despite his father’s insults that he was a failure of a son and the ruin of the Vanserra line.
When the high lord realised this method was futile, he struck his wife hard across the face.
She landed again on the ground. The servants knew better than to rush to her.
‘Each time you disobey me, your mother will feel the brunt of it. Is that what you want?’
A cold sensation slithered down Nesta’s spine. She found herself back at the table. Her mother-in-law was unable to look at her. Nesta couldn’t hold her gaze either. The dog in her lap gave a wag of its tail to encourage her to stroke him again.
Finally, she asked, ‘Did Eris kill his dog?’
‘No. He threw the knife at his father instead – and got the beating of his life for it. Beron nearly killed him. But the dog was forgotten about. I think that was all that mattered to Eris.’
‘And you,’ she said. ‘You mean the world to him. You have no idea how much it hurts him that you must endure Ber-’
Eliška’s hand settled on hers. ‘Even the walls have ears in this room.’
***
Although Eris’ plan of causing a fray on the border had served its purpose of reigniting the spark within the high lord of the Spring Court, he could have done without being drawn into the fight. More troops – rogue ones, Uther claimed – had snuck over the border and set up camp along the coast.
Not just Tamlin, but lone males from the Spring Court had bandied together to drive the soldiers back into the Autumn Court. The fracas would ensure that Tamlin kept a better watch on the east. With his paranoia, the right word could also ensure he kept a guard on the west towards Hybern too. There needed to be eyes on the oceans towards Hybern and the Continent to ensure no ships made port at Prythian. It was common knowledge now that Nesta resided in the Autumn Court. No army would be foolish enough to cut through the Winter Court because the conditions rendered it too difficult to cross. Autumn protected its borders too thoroughly to allow an attack. Spring was the weak point. Eris would be damned if he was complacent with his wife’s safety.
The female in question had waited up for him. Instead of drowsiness, she sat upright examining tax ledgers, her grey eyes still alert. At his arrival through the door, she’d leapt from the chair to embrace him.
‘I’m filthy,’ he protested, as her slender arms wrapped around his neck. It was true. Mud and blood splattered him. Tamlin had not caused severe injury to most of the soldiers, but Beron instructed to have them all slaughtered for their insubordination. It was his own people’s blood that stained his skin.
‘I don’t care.’
Nesta’s words came out choked.
He prised her away from him to look at her. ‘Why are you crying? What’s happened? Nesta, tell me what’s happened.’
She pressed her forehead to his, kissing him once. ‘Are you hurt?’
‘Nesta, are you hurt? You must tell me if something has happened.’
Nesta swallowed. Tears still rimmed her eyes, but she shook her head. ‘I was so worried about you.’
Despite his protests that it was far too late and she should sleep, Nesta insisted on drawing him a bath – then helping him to wash too. If it was a punishment for coming home late, it was a rather good one.
There was something on her mind still, Eris could tell – but he knew better than to push her. Pushing Nesta only resulted in her drawing back. Instead, Eris enjoyed the careful way she cleaned his skin. Nesta took her time to brush a flannel against the few scratches he’d gained, eyes lingering on each one.
‘Why don’t you train daily?’
He glanced down at the bruise on his thigh that had turned a lovely shade of violet. It would be gone by the afternoon. ‘Are you seeing my bruises and suggesting I need to increase my training?’
A bubble was flicked in his face. ‘I meant that Azriel and Cassian,’ she said the latter’s name quietly, as if it was a curse to speak it aloud, ‘train every single day.’
‘Illyrians have little else to do to occupy their time,’ he replied drily. ‘I am five centuries old. I have had enough practise with every weapon conceivable. Regular training at my age will not improve my skill in any way, shape, or form. Conversely, lack of training has little effect either.’ He ran a finger through the bubbles to part them. ‘In a battle, it is less about skill or ability. It’s more stamina and recklessness.’
‘Do you like training?’
The question caught him off-guard. Nesta had never shown much of an interest in his abilities as a fighter. Perhaps she thought he was on the losing side tonight by the marks on his body.
‘Not particularly. I think it’s an excuse for the worst sort of males to bully others. I like being with the army though. There’s a camaraderie there that’s special. To be willing to bleed for each other, to die so another can live, it cannot be replicated – except maybe by the heart.’
Nesta leant an arm along the side of the tub then rested her head on it. It was easy to imagine a future with her – a future that was calm and steady where they could set down roots and grow together.
‘Do you think I should beat more males into the ground, my love?’
‘Definitely not.’
‘Good. I’d rather use magic than weapons,’ he said, shooting an arrow of flame through another clump of bubbles.
From a jug, Nesta poured water through his hair, washing out the suds. She was gentle with her care, but her silence was unnerving him. Her fingers traced each scar on his back, following the track of the white scar tissue from root to tip then she massaged the tight muscles of his shoulders, drawing out a long groan from him.
‘Did you have dinner, Nesta?’
‘Yes. With your mother.’
Oh. That could be the cause of the melancholy. Perhaps Nesta lamented her own life. Did she wonder if she’d end up like this lady of the court? A prisoner within the walls of the Forest House.
Nesta tilted her face towards his. In a whisper, she said, ‘She’s a daemati.’
The blood in his veins ran cold. How could his mother tell another? This was a secret she’d kept for centuries. ‘She told you? You must never tell anyone. Never, Nesta. We are the only ones who knows. Not even Lucien knows. If my father knew, she’d be a weapon - or worse, he’d end her.’
Although Nesta gripped his hands tightly, her face was fracturing.
‘What is it? What did she show you?’
‘I don’t want to be in this house tonight.’
So, they left.
Not even properly dressed, Eris rushed Nesta from the Forest House. He was driven by the need to protect her. There wasn’t a physical threat, just an emotional upheaval that had made the Forest House inhospitable to her that night. He’d change the world for her, if she asked.
They had barely passed a few steps into the house when Nesta was upon him. Her arms wrapped around his body with an intensity he hadn’t known before. The embrace was tight. She pushed her face into the crook of his neck, breathing him in deeply.
Eris lifted her, coaxing her legs to wrap around his hips to hold her better as he carried his wife up the stairs to the bedroom. It was very late, the paling moon hidden behind rain clouds.
His plans to tuck Nesta beneath the quilt to sleep were forgotten as she turned his face to hers. Soft lips met his, kissing once, twice, three times until the delicacy shifted to fervour. They broke apart momentarily for the nightgown to be lifted over Nesta’s head. Her fingers worked independently, tugging off his hastily-buttoned shirt to expose his own body. The softness of her breasts pushed against his chest and the tether snapped within Eris.
Nesta was laid out on the bed. The glow of the fire bathed her in gold. There was none more magnificent, more utterly devastating than Nesta.
Eris trailed his hand over the curve of her ribs then against her breast, savouring how soft it was in his hand – how it bounced as he spiralled a finger towards her peaked nipple.
From the pillows, Nesta smiled to him, eyes heavy-lidded like a cat. ‘Don’t be a tease, Eris.’
The heart in his chest beat louder than a drum as he shed the last of his clothes. Nesta had seen him naked plenty of times, yet they were moving to a new realm now. The consummation of a marriage that had bloomed from nowhere, a fortunate stroke of serendipity that had changed the trajectory of both of their lives.
His throat was dry as Eris positioned himself on top of Nesta’s body. If she caught the quake of his hand, she didn’t say anything, merely guided him towards her entrance and raised her hips to meet him.
It was special.
A gasp caught in his throat as the head of his cock pressed inside, passing through the wetness gathered. The warmth and softness nearly undid him. Adrenaline had his pulse spiking as Nesta’s fingers dug into the muscles of his back.
Eris touched his forehead to Nesta’s. He kept his arms cradling her, kissing her between their soft moans – sometimes catching one on his lips.
With every thrust, Eris felt as if he was travelling up river coming to the edge of a waterfall. He knew he’d get there quicker the more he moved inside Nesta, but he fought against it. He tried to hold back, but against the sensations of his wife’s body – the bounce of her breasts, the tingling feel of her fingers gripping his hair – he was powerless.
When Eris reached the edge, ready to tip, he felt as if he’d found a missing part of himself. He’d found an equal in Nesta. An equal who he never wanted to be without.
As he came, Eris held Nesta down against the mattress. His body pressed to hers, lips tasting hers. Every part of him wanted her.
Her touch was a summons that could rise him from the grave. Each soft kiss gave Eris something to believe in. Their joining felt as if it had been carved in the stars by the Mother herself, this moment crafted from the hands of a Goddess.
That was what Nesta was. A Goddess who blessed the land she walked on. A female who the ocean and the darkness bowed to.
She was everything.
***
Each touch from Eris had been reverent, soft and almost trembling as though he found her to be a delicate flower that needed caresses to coax her to grow rather than hard words and rough actions. Nesta had to be close to him. The burning need threatened to devour her as she pressed her hot, sweating skin to him. He was like a furnace, but she craved that closeness. She had never needed that before. Never needed more than a release without even a goodbye. She didn’t want Eris to leave her, to leave the bed, and return when he wanted her body again.
Eris cradled her to him, a hand curling against her head to caress her hair.
Words built inside of her – not the cruel, spiked things that often forced their way from her tongue, but soft, hesitant ones that begged to her to find the courage to let them into the world.
It was terrifying and new and overwhelming. Yet those words were true and she wanted so badly to try and let them go despite the risk like a bird letting its babies try and fly the nest. It was a vulnerability that Nesta had never let herself be exposed to before. Keep the armour up, sharpen the spikes and make herself so unapproachable that nobody could ever break in.
But Eris had. Eris had seen her at her lowest and hadn’t seen a female that needed to be cured or fixed or made into a shape that suited everybody else. He’d just seen her. He hadn’t minded when her spikes pricked the skin or when she shut him out.
He was just Eris. Not the cruel heir she was led to believe he was. He was Eris, charming and delightful, intelligent and hard-working. He was her husband.
‘I love you.’
One beat of his heart passed. Then two. Then three.
‘I love you too, Nesta.’
How badly she had needed to hear that. It had come once, blurted out on the dancefloor, but it hadn’t felt the same as this. She burrowed closer to him, forehead pushing into his shoulder to try and touch every inch of skin she could.
‘I have a confession,’ he whispered.
Nesta took in his amber eyes, heavy with fatigue, the wayward hair that softened his usually razor-sharp features.
‘Do you remember when went to Altor Hay? We met Aurelia and you asked me how many ex-lovers were likely to confront you.’
Nesta reared back onto her elbows, lips pursing together. ‘Is this when you lead me to an execution to hide the evidence of taking a lover?’
He let out a lazy laugh but a faint blush stole across his cheeks. ‘No. There no ex-lovers who will confront you because there have never been any.’
For a long while, Nesta stared at him, trying to understand the fact that he’d laid out. The fact that had taken him a decent amount of time to admit to.
‘You were a maiden,’ she said softly.
That did make him laugh – a proper one where he tossed his auburn hair back against the wooden headboard. ‘I don’t think the same term applies for a male, Nesta. Traditionally, a maiden is required for a pampered little high lord’s son. I didn’t think it fair if I didn’t uphold that end of the deal too.’
‘But you’re five hundred years old.’
‘Sometimes it was difficult. Many females only want access to me for the step it can take them in life – power or jewels. Both if their fathers have their way. Honestly, there haven’t been many females who have turned my head. I’ve been too focused on survival to care for pretty dresses or fluttering eyelashes.’ He was unable to look at her fully. His usual confidence had shrunk and he twisted his long fingers around the pillow case. ‘I wanted to save myself for my wife.’
Nesta wasn’t quite sure what to say. His admission had stolen all of the air from her lungs. And yet it did all ring true. Since the ruined betrothal to Mor, Eris remained as an eligible bachelor but had not taken a wife or even hammered out another betrothal to form an alliance. There were no rumours of illegitimate heirs or females who had their reputation ruined by him. He was a catch. Even if the cruelty was real, he was the heir to the Autumn Court, by far the richest court in Prythian. Many fathers wouldn’t care what sort of male they shackled their daughters to as long as they benefitted in some way.
‘I feel guilty that I wasn’t what you wanted in a wife,’ she confessed, voice equally as small.
‘No, no,’ he said quickly, sweeping a thumb down her cheek. ‘Don’t be guilty that you’ve had a past. I couldn’t care less if you’ve bedded every male in Prythian as long as it’s only my bed that you’ll be in from now on. I want you. My wife, my partner, my friend.’
Nesta trailed her finger down his muscled stomach, admiring the way his skin shuddered from the sensation. ‘I didn’t rush you, did I?’
‘I wanted to for a long time. Trust me, I wanted to. I was worried it would be utterly horrendous for you and you’d think “what has this male done for five hundred years?”. Then more time was passing and I kept putting you off. I really made a mountain out of a molehill. I’m sorry.’
Seeing this male vulnerable made Nesta’s desire swell.
She straddled his waist, a triumphant smile seizing her. Her hands slipped into his then raised them either side of his head against the board.
‘I’m about to change your life, Eris Vanserra.’
Nesta peppered kisses across his mouth then along the keen edge of his jaw. The tip of her tongue traced his earlobe. At the warmth of her breath against his ear, Eris’ entire body twitched beneath her. She could feel his length hardening where she gently rocked her hips.
This was new and, by the Mother, it was exciting. There was a world of possibilities and Nesta planned to explore every single one.
Her lips continued working down his body. It was carved from stone, each muscle on gleaming display for her to admire. What a lucky female she was.
Nesta slipped off of his lap and settled on her knees between his legs on the mattress. In the quiet room with only the patter of rain against the roof to accompany them, Nesta swore she could hear the tremor of his heart.
She took the shaft in her hand to place a kiss upon the head of his cock.
Eris screwed up his face, already unravelling from the most fleeting of touches.
By the third kiss, his head was pressed into the headboard, a hand gripping the bedsheets.
Nesta took him in her mouth – fully ready for an early exit – but Eris held on.
Inch by inch, she took him further, encouraged by the ragged gasps coming from him.
A hand settled on his thigh to steady the jerk of his legs as she slowly flicked her tongue against the head then took him deep again. Nesta knew she was torturing him. She was deliberately going as slow as possible, to savour every second.
Eris was receptive to every stroke of her tongue, every pop of her lips as she released him for a brief moment. Lack of intimacy had made him sensitive, and Nesta was enjoying this.
His moans became strained in a short matter of time.
She pushed him too far, taking him to the back of her throat, and before he could warn her, she felt the hot spray of his cum on her tongue.
‘Sorry,’ he breathed, pulling her towards him.
‘Don’t be, I liked it.’
Eris’ jaw dropped. Nesta had to wave her hand in front of his face to ensure he was still functioning then he flopped against the pillows with a noise that she couldn’t decide was pain or pleasure.
He patted the spot beside himself then brought an arm around her when she settled.
‘We are not leaving this cottage for at least a month. Maybe two.’
‘I have a lot to show you,’ she mused. ‘Make it three months.’

The Four Betrotheds
A Two Choices story
Pairing: Eris x Reader
Summary: Hundreds of years before High Lord Beron’s death and the meeting of Azriel stood a young girl, 23, who was attempting to be married off for her families sake. A good marriage was the only thing a women at the time was taught to do for her family. When four of her engagements fall through in the span of three years the girl is called “cursed”, little does she know, the failed engagement's have nothing to do with her but instead the son of the High Lord and her childhood friend.
Warnings: sabotaged marriages, childhood friends to lovers, Beron, Idk its mostly fluff, mention of a child being married off to an older man (Mor and Eris), cycles are mentioned (fun fact I started mine when I was 8), a character name I stole off House of the Dragon, sexist themes and views from characters

As my brothers told me that my betrothed would not be attending the ball this evening meant to celebrate our engagement it hit me that I, once again, was not getting married. The fourth time this had happened and I had truly hoped that this would be the last time I’d been betrothed. None of my previous engagements had made it this far, two fleeing to marry other women they had truly been in love with and the other one who simply stated that he did not wish for my hand despite my large dowry.
I sat on one of the seats in my brother's office. My brother Silas sat in his respective chair as two of my other brothers, Cardan and Flint, stood by me their hands on my shoulders, finally, Prescott was busy trying to hunt down the Lord I was supposed to marry in four days' time. Prescott was always one to try and fix a situation with force.
I sat there in my brother's office, not sad, but instead embarrassed. Guests had already arrived, including High Lord Beron, the one that had organized this match in the first place. I wondered how angry he’d be when he found out the Lord I was arranged to marry was in fact not here, but most likely drunk at some brothel while I sat in my brother's office in the dress that my betrothed mother picked out.
Part of me could sense my brother's relief, knowing how similar the Lord was to my father I couldn’t blame them. I knew how much this ruined my chances of finding a good husband, four failed arrangements, no good man would want a woman who was now 23 with four failed arrangements. I knew once this caught wind I would be called “cursed” and “an old hag”. Silas told Cardan to go fetch the High Lord, Flint was told to bring me out. Silas told him he didn’t care how but to just bring me out of the office for a bit until he said to come back.
Flint had decided a walk around our gardens was the best option, he said he wanted to try to take my mind off it but I honestly just believed it was because where we were in the gardens gave us a clear view as to who was in the office. Silas had failed to put curtains up, giving us both a clear view.
We watched Cardan enter right again with High Lord Beron and my friend, Prince Eris, the heir to the Autumn Court, following as well. Flint gave me a look, before he moved to go under the window me following, keeping us hidden but close enough to listen to what they were discussing.
We missed the beginning of the conversation, or my brother quickly spoke of my betrothed.
“My brother Prescott is currently searching through brothels and bars in the area, the Lord has known as a drunk.” I heard my brother Silas say.
High Lord Beron scoffed, ”He better show up soon.” My betrothed had gone against a direct order from the High Lord, with his offense it meant one of two things, he would die or his cock would be cut off. A threat High Lord Beron would use often to the men of his court. Eris and I would eavesdrop on his meeting often as children and hear it all the time. I was nine and he was eleven when we watched it happen for the first time, we never eavesdropped again.
“If he decides he doesn’t wish to go through with the marriage what do you plan to do my High Lord?” My brother Cardan asked.
Beron stayed quiet for a moment, “I promised you a good marriage for your sister in exchange for your loyalty and that I will give you. Perhaps my second son Cyrus will do.”
“What about your first, Eris?” Silas asked.
“A Lord in the Night Court and I have been discussing a marriage between Eris and his young daughter for a while now. It’s still early to tell since she is still a girl, perhaps that marriage falls through and your sister will have Eris. Though Cyrus is more likely, he is a year younger so I hope your sister will be fine with that.”
“She’ll be fine with whatever husband you chose for her my High Lord, she has been grateful for your help and was going to show you her gratitude tonight. She feels sorry she cannot do that any longer.” Silas said.
“I’ll make sure a good husband is found for her, the least I could do for your family's loyalty,” Beron said before dismissing himself from the room with his son.
Sitting at a tournament the next day with my cousin was not my plan for the next day. I was supposed to be touring the north side of the Autumn Court with my soon-to-be husband for our venue in order to make sure everything was ready. Now I sat with my cousin Alicent with the High Lord’s family, I guess this was meant to be an apology to my family for the failed engagement but it only gave me a lot of anxiety.
With Alicent to my right and The High Lord’s second-born Cyrus to my left, we watched the tournament in silence, except for the occasional looks Alicent and I would give each other when certain knights came out, causing us both to quietly giggle. I would also occasionally look toward Eris who would smirk and give me a look, causing me to smile at him before turning again.
Alicent and I watched the tournament before it was acceptable for us to ask the High Lord to be dismissed, Beron didn’t care much and let us go off. Alicent and I hooked arms before rushing out of the stands we were in to go and wonder where we’d like.
We went out to the festival area where we saw stalls for food, some for jewelry, and other things. A stand that a well-known jeweler owned I frequented caught my eye and Alicent and I went to it. Many stared at us as we walked toward it which was excepted, we were the only women born into huge families, us both having only brothers, and both our families were powerful. Main especially with our relations to the High Lord.
I greeted the jeweler I knew so well whose eyes lit up when he saw me. He had a thick accent due to the fact he was from the continents, he quickly directed me toward a set of necklaces and earrings that he knew I’d enjoy while another worker helped Alicent look at bracelets she’d been wanting.
The third worker helping the Jeweler moved to help someone else, not paying attention too much but the Jeweler I didn’t notice was my first fiance.
I ended up deciding to buy the set as well as some other sets as well and I was moved to the front table to set it on my account, as I moved I bumped into my former fiance, who I gave a cold stare as I moved away from him to the front table. “He’s come to buy a lot of expensive jewelry lately for his wife.” The Jeweler mentioned casually, I think he could sense I was curious.
Hearing this caught me off, guard. My former betrothed was high class yes, but not very rich. His family focused on the military and with this most of the money, they got went toward it. The wife he’d married as well wasn’t rich, she was a commoner, so the money didn’t come from a dowry.
I gave my former fiance a weird look who continued to look at me, I motioned toward Alicent to come over.
When she did I whispered in her ear about this, when I was done she two gave him a weird look which he saw. He quickly picked out the piece of jewelry he liked before storming toward us, making it look like he was paying before he began to speak.
“You need to learn to mind your business,” He said quietly, “I’m not sure your princeling would like you poking around in your former betrothed business.”
“What?” I said confused.
“You heard me.” He replied
“What do you mean by that?” Alicent asked for me.
Now was his turn to look confused, “Prince Eris, your little lover or whatever he is.”
My heart plummeted to my stomach, “What? He’s not my lover?”
His eyebrow raised, “Seems like you have something to discuss then.”
Not wanting to hear more of this nonsense, I grabbed Alicent and the jewelry we had just gotten and quickly went to her home, which was the closest. With anyone able to see we were in a hurry, we could walk with no interruptions.
Once we’d arrived we quickly ran up to her room, wanting to discuss what we’d just heard.
“Shit,” I said, “Do people really believe Eris and I are lovers?” I paced through her room as she sat down.
“Maybe he’s lying?” She said, “Maybe he just wanted an excuse to not marry you, there's gonna be an explanation for this cousin.”
I sat on her bed before laying back before I heard her speak, “I know there have been rumors of Eris being in love with you, but those are just rumors and they were a while ago.”
I perked up, “When was this?”
“A few years ago, maybe when you were 16 and 19,” She said, “It’s not relevant now. I don't think. I know some people find it strange Beron is arranging your marriage, but none have spoken against him.”
“High Lord Beron is arranging my marriage as a thank you for my family and a nice gesture for his son's childhood champion. There's nothing strange about it.” I said, quite annoyed.
Alicent stared at me for a moment, “Do you love him?” She asked quietly.
My heart began to beat harder before I spoke, “It wouldn’t matter anyway, I have a duty to do and loving Eris would only hold me back from it.”
Alicent began to run her hands through my hair, “If this marriage with the Night Court girl falls through, you could have Eris. You’d be doing your duty and being able to love him.”
“The Night Court girl is still a child, they won't be married for several years, there's no way for the marriage to fall before High Lord Beron marries me off to another.”
Alicent snickered, “Maybe you could get the High Lord to marry you off to another High Lord.”
I smiled at that, “I know the High Lord of Spring isn’t married, and neither is the one of Night.”
“What of the day?”
“Perhaps.”
Before I could continue to speak Alicent realized something, “What if it's Eris?” She asked, “What if Eris is doing something to stop you from being married.”
“That's ridiculous, cousin.” I said, “Eris wouldn’t, he knows how important this is to me, I wanna be able to help my family.”
“It's not ridiculous, he’s loved you since he was a boy.” She said, “He loves you cousin, why wouldn’t he want to ruin your marriage?”
I smacked her on the arm gently, “Don't say that. Not about your prince.”
“The prince whos in love with you.”
I rolled my eyes at her before moving myself over to lie on my stomach instead.
Hours later I sat in my room with a coconut oil mask in my hair, I liked to use it cause I found it made my hair healthier and made it look nicer. I also had a mask on my face given to me by a servant and sitting on a chair in the corner of my room with only a small light to allow me to see my room felt therapeutic.
It was pretty late at night when I heard a knock at my balcony door before it was quietly opened, I turned to see Eris silently closing the door so as to not alert anyone. A tradition of him sneaking into my room at night to hang out started when I was 13 and he was 15 when it was no longer appropriate for us to hang out together alone due to me now beginning my cycle, it wasn’t inappropriate if no one knew of course.
Closing my book after marking it I set it on the desk next to my chair before Eris could move to sit on the chair I kept next to mine, while many believed it was for my brothers and cousins it was really put there for Eris. Eris looked exhausted, I would be too if I had to keep people entertained while also keeping my shithead of a father happy as well.
“Your so lucky you got to leave first,” He said, basically groaning.
“I would’ve stayed for you but I had a cousin to entertain,” I jested before quickly getting up to grab a hair clip and the bowl of the face mask. “Be a dear and put your hair up,” I said, not giving him much of a choice.
Whenever he’d come when I was doing stuff like this I would always force him into doing it as well, he hated it at first but as the years went on I think he’d begun to enjoy it. Unless he just acted as he did for me.
He followed my command to put his hair up as I walked toward him with the bowl, preparing the applicator real quick before I began to put it on his face without warning causing his face to scrunch up from the coldness of it, I laugh at him a bit for it.
After I was done I sat back down, giggling at the sight of the mean heir of autumn in a face mask with his hair tied up from a pretty hair clip. The sight never failed to make me laugh.
After the slight embarrassment washed off him I noticed he’d brought a bag with him, one that now sat on his lap while he pulled out two whiskey cups wrapped in one of his shirts so they didn’t hit each other, and then a bottle of whiskey wrapped in another shirt. I quickly grabbed one of the glasses to have him pour some into; he would often bring me some, more so when we were children due to women in the Autumn Court not being allowed to drink much more than fruity wine with barely any alcohol. The only woman known to drink other liquors are women that work at brothels, even then there's a fine line.
After he’d poured my glass I quickly relished in the taste of it, it’d been a while since Eris was able to bring me some, I loved fruity stuff but with wine, I needed something strong.
Eris and I joked about the day, making fun of the Noblemen who tried to kiss up to the High Lord's ass, Eris wondered how he wasn’t supposed to laugh when he’d eventually have to deal with that, we joked about one of the knights clearly trying to flirt with the daughter of a nobleman but she’d been too invested in Eris’s brother and we also discussed the results of the tournament. Since I left early I was desperate to know which of the Knight had won.
After he’d finished talking my hazed mind at taken over, which lead me to think about the night before when I’d been left by my fiance.
“Did you guys ever figure out where he went,” I asked quietly, sipping my whiskey while I waited for him to speak.
Eris looked confused for a minute before what I was asking registered in his head, “Oh,” he paused, his eyebrows raising for a moment, “him.
“He had decided that traveling Pytheria was a bigger priority than staying in the Autumn Court to do his job. My brother went to go tell him that he has orders from my father to never return to the Autumn Court unless he was his feet cut off so he can never travel again. His family is also being shunned now.”
I realized at that moment my betrothed's family wasn’t at the tournament, “So that's why they weren’t there?”
Eris nodded, “That's why.”
I sighed, setting my cup down on the table and leaning back into my chair, “I don't get it,” I complained, “What's wrong with me?”
“What do you mean?” Eris asked, “There isn’t anything wrong with you.”
I snorted, “Clearly there is. Four engagements Eris, four, every one of them left for whatever reason.”
I realized I was biting the inside of my mouth, “I didn’t think there was much wrong with me, I mean I come from a powerful family, I have a huge dowry, and the High Lord himself has recommended me from the day I was born.” I turned to look at Eris, “By the time I was sixteen I had more marriage proposals than a fae could need, which is really creepy to think about but it's true; I mean I think I’m pretty enough.”
“Your beautiful, (Y/N),” Eris said.
I stayed quiet for a moment after he said that before I spoke again, choosing to ignore what he’d just said. “I think I’m going to be too old soon.”
“Too old?” He said.
“Most females have their husbands picked out by sixteen and are married by eighteen, once again, really creepy. Now though, there are younger options males have, I’m gonna be an old hag soon.” I said sinking into my chair.
“With your family, it wouldn’t be too big of a deal for you to not marry, you don't need to.” He told me, a serious look in his eyes.
I laughed a bit at the thought of what Alicent had told me, that Eris was somehow preventing me from being married.
“Why are you laughing?” Eris asked.
I shook my head, “It’s nothing, just something stupid Alicent suggested.” I picked up my cup to take a sip.
“What was it?”
I laughed, “It's stupid, don’t worry.”
“Well, I wanna know now.”
I took another sip, “Alicent believes you're preventing my marriage or something, it's stupid.”
I’d have to be stupid to miss the way Eris tensed up after I said this, fingers dragging along the rim of the cup before he spoke, “Yeah, it sounds dumb.” He said, quietly.
I looked him up and down before sitting up, “Well I was saying it was stupid but why are you saying it's dumb like that.”
“What do you mean?” He asked, trying to act stupid.
I gave him a look, “You know damn well what I mean Eris. Why’d you tense up like that?”
“I didn’t tense up.” He said, closing his eyes, I half excepted him to raise his voice but he’d never do it.
“Yes you did,” I said sternly, “you were fidgeting with your glass too.”
I started laughing as the realization hit me, I quickly sat up from my seat, my hands being raised over my head, “The mother Eris, you’ve been fucking with my engagements.”
“I haven’t.” He said.
I turned to face him, “Stop lying!” I yelled, not realizing how loud I was I quickly shut up.
I stood there for a minute as I watched the look of guilt cover Eris’ face before I rushed to the bathroom to grab a hand towel, I wet it under the sink before throwing it at Eris, “Wash it off” I commanded, he followed quickly. When he was done I pointed at the trash, he understood I was telling him to throw it away.
“Leave, and don't come back,” I said, trying to not cry.
“(Y/N),” He said, almost pleading.
“Go.”
He knew well enough to grab the cups and whiskey as he left, I watched as he dumped the glasses out the balcony before he left, I covered the door with the curtains after he left and made sure to put the lock I never put on the door.
Looking toward his chair I noticed he’d left one of the shirts there before he’d left. I quickly grabbed it to shove it into my towel cabinet in the bathroom, where no one would see it. I told myself I’d throw it away when I got the chance.
Wanting to calm the pit in my stomach down and clean my face and hair I ran myself a bath, I didn’t expect to cry so much as I washed my hair.
Feigning sick wasn’t hard with what had happened with my last fiance and the day at the tournament, it wasn’t hard to accidentally catch something there. I remembered when I was still young the Lady of Autumn had once gotten sick from some virus she’d gotten at a tournament and was basically quarantined in order to not get her two children sick, a memory engraved in my mind as I comforted Eris who was devastated to not be able to see his mother for a while.
A week after I had gotten ‘sick’ I had been able to convince my brother to allow me to go to one of the cabins we’d owned in order for me to be alone for a while, I’d used the argument that I just really like to be alone for a little while due to everything with my last fiance which leads him to quickly agree.
A huge part of it was that I truly did need to be alone, I felt as if I had just lost my friend, my only friend for a long time and I was devastated. I’d been betrayed by my best friend, I really just needed a bit to myself.
Silas had told me I was allowed to stay no more than a week but could come home whenever I wished throughout it, sitting in the cabin far into the woods I didn’t expect to want to come home very much. Of course, I wasn’t alone, some guards stood at the perimeter of the cabin but none inside the house beside a maid who would cook and clean for me, despite that she left me alone. I knew why she was chosen to be put into my house anyway, one of the guards who stood outside was her mate and if we needed one inside the house she would simply pull on the bond in order to have them be sent in.
I never cared much for mating bonds so I didn’t care to hear about it. Well, it was more that I never had the luxury to care, my brothers would encourage me to want to find my mate someday but I knew that I was more likely to be married off to someone before I found one, so I began to not care. I also considered that the mother may be cruel to me, that she may put me with someone worse than any male I could meet in the Autumn court. I’d seen matches she’d made before and didn’t put it past her.
I realized quickly how much I quite enjoyed sitting on a couch doing nothing but reading a simple book, I liked how I didn’t have much to think about and I didn’t have to do anything, I didn’t even have to look pretty.
I was able to just sit around in comfy pajamas which even at home I was most of the time unable to do, even on a simple day I’d have to be dressed nicely in case someone had decided to visit, even my pajamas had to be nice. Most days it wasn’t that bad but it was also exhausting.
I didn’t hear the knock on the door to the living room causing whoever it was to knock louder, ceasing my attention from the book I was reading to the door. I called out to come in, knowing it was the maid.
I watched as she opened the door before doing her best to close it quietly, “My lady,” She said in a soft voice, “You have a visitor.”
I sat up from my spot, “I’m not supposed to have any, whos here?”
“The Prince.”
I cocked my eyebrow, “Which?”
“Eris, my lady.”
It took everything in me to not roll my eyes, unfortunately, I knew how disrespectful and suspicious it’d look if I turned him away now.
“Grab me my robe and bring him in please.”
The maid nodded before doing so, closing the door behind her to inform the prince I was waiting for him.
It took him a minute before entering the room, every second it took the angrier I became. When he did enter I did not look at him, I only waited for him to sit on the couch in front of me.
He quickly moved, not to sit but instead to stand in front of me before speaking, “So you weren’t going to tell me you were on a little vacation?” He asked.
“So you weren’t going to tell me that you were ruining my engagements?” I snapped back at him.
He moved to sit next to me, causing me to scoot further away from him. “You have to understand there were reasons, (Y/N).”
“What attempting to ruin my fucking life?”
“I was trying to protect you,” He said, somehow still calm.
“No, you weren’t,” I snapped, “the second I was born into the Autumn Court as a female this has been my responsibility to my family and you are taking that away from me. You are taking away my chance from helping my family Eris.”
He paused for a moment, “You really believe that's all you can be? A mother and wife? That's it?”
“It’s all the Autumn Court will allow me to be, and why you need to back the fuck off from my life.”
“You are smart and strong (Y/N), you can be so much more than this. Both I and your brothers believe this, you can do whatever the fuck you want and instead your choosing to allow yourself to follow this.” He snapped but did not yell.
“It's all Beron, the High Lord believes I can be, his word is law Eris. A mother and wife are all he believes any woman should be, and if not that a fucking whore. He believes that is the order of things.”
“You won't have to follow that order when I am High Lord, no one will have to.” Eris said.
“Well your not High Lord, your word isn’t law,” I said, before turning myself over from him to grab my book. “Leave will you, I am trying to enjoy my time before I am married off.”
He didn’t move from his seat, he sat there watching me read for a few minutes, opening and closing his mouth as he was trying to say something.
Finally, quiet but audible I could hear him say, “I love you.”
My eyes widened and my heart began to pound as he said this, the words repeating in my head as all I could reply with was a simple “what?” I could feel him getting up from his seat before getting ready to leave.
I set my book down before getting up as well, following him as he exited the room yelling his name out.
I wasn’t stupid, I’d loved him for years now but never said anything and instead tried to push my feelings for the boy now a man down and have done it quite well. Hearing him say that he loved me, that he had done something like this because he loved me caused every emotion, every feeling I’d pushed away to come back. I wasn’t stupid enough to let him walk out now.
“ERIS!” I screeched out, finally getting him to stop and turn to me and allowing me to catch up to him. Not wanting to have this discussion in a hallway I grabbed his arm and pulled him into one of the spare rooms of the cabin. Once we were in I basically forced him to sit on a chair in the room before I began to hover over him.
My words got caught in my throat before I spoke, “You love me?” I asked.
“I do, (Y/N) I-” I caught his eyes drifting away as he spoke.
“Don't look over there, look at me.” I said sternly, “You love me?”
He swallowed, “Yes (Y/N), I love you. I always have.”
“Always?” my voice cracked.
“Always. I always have.”
I stopped hovering over him and turned away, my hands over my face as I repeated how stupid I felt. I didn’t even hear Eris get up, I only felt his arms wrap around my body in order to remove my hands from my face and turn me to look at him.
“What do you mean, (Y/N)? Your not stupid.” He held onto my hands.
“No, I am, I’ve done nothing but push me loving you down because I thought you could never love me and I feel so dumb for it now cause your here telling me you do love me and I just feel so stupid, holy shit I’m so dumb! I spent so fucking long thinking you saw me like a little sister and then here you go telling me you love me and now I also feel really bad for getting mad at you and I still just feel so dumb and I just-” I would’ve continued rambling on if he hadn’t kissed me. Eris kept one hand in my own and the other on the side of my face as he stole my first kiss from me, I felt as if every problem I could have had at that moment disappeared, as every negative emotion I felt about myself left as I melted into him.
Once he let go of me he also let go of my hand, moving it to the other side of my face as he rested my forehead on his before speaking, “You love me?”
I realized now that I was basically sobbing as I nodded, “I love you so much.” my voice cracked as I spoke and a smile fell onto both of our faces. Eris moved to kiss around my face, kissing where my tears felt as I continued crying a little.
He pulled us both back onto the chair, setting me on his lap as I wrapped both my arms and legs around him, “I’m sorry for crying.” I said through sobs.
“Well I love you, so I don't care.” He said smirking as I lightly hit him.
I didn’t know when he fell asleep or when I did, but I would always remember the first time waking up in his arms on that stupid chair, my eyes still felt sore from crying and Eris was still asleep as I ran my fingers through his hair. His grip on me was like iron but I didn’t mind, I didn’t want to move from that spot and I knew soon we’d have to go to our homes and pretend to just be childhood champions once again, I dreaded the thought but I need one day I’d be his wife. I prayed for that day.

So here’s something I don’t normally do, write fanfiction! If y’all do enjoy it and want to read more from me I might make some more later.
I wrote this currently (aka 1 am) because I had the idea for a while and just said screw it I’ll write it instead of drawing it while I’m working on other things. So if punctuation or spelling is wrong I’m too tired to rewrite them right now.
This story stars a young Eggman (Julian) and Chuck making their breakthrough on the Robotizer! But Chuck seems to be uneasy about something going on with Julian.
Now without further ado~
Sonic Genesis: The Beginning of the End
It is a cool autumn night, fog covers a small town just outside a grand city settling on the coastline. Bells ring out, letting the sleeping citizens know that it is now midnight. A light teal-blue hedgehog is at his desk scribbling away at blueprints and other documents. He rubs his temple, annoyed by the loud clangs of the bells giving him a headache. He knows he should be asleep by now, but he is so close to finishing his projects and rather not lose his motivation. He goes back to his papers and refocuses on the numbers and ideas in his head.
*BRRRRRRRRINNNNG*
“GREAT GAIA WHAT NOW?!”
The hedgehog shouts as he slams his pencil down onto the crowded desk. His phone finally broke his concentration and makes his anger rise. He snaps out of his frustration when a loud thump came from the next room over.
“SHUT UP CHUCK! IM TRYING TO SLEEP AND YOU SHOULD TO!”
His little sister, Aleena screamed, ready to bust down the wall to stop him. Chuck mumbles under his breath as he goes to check his phone. To his surprise and delight, it is his good friend Julian!
“Julian! Is that you? It’s been forever since we’ve talked! You need to warn me next time you disappear like that.”
“Chuck, I need you at the laboratory as soon as possible. It is important and you cannot tell anyone where you are going.”
Chuck paused for a moment, Julian has been gone for almost four months. Why on Mobius would he contact him now, especially at this time of night?
“Is everything okay? Why do you need me over there?” Chuck asked worryingly.
“It’s about the Robotizer, I’ve made a breakthrough! I just need you to come over and help me work on it while I rest. My eyes are stinging like hell right now.”
Before Chuck could ask if he needed medical aid, Julian had already hung up the phone. Chuck stood there for a moment in silence, his mind racing. They have been working on the Robotizer for almost five years now, has he finally done it? Has Julian successfully managed to get it working? While these thoughts were buzzing around in his mind, Chuck was scrambling around grabbing papers and tools as fast as he could. He burst through into the garage and hopped onto his motorcycle, driving into the darkness.
When Chuck arrived at Julian’s personal laboratory, he could immediately tell something was wrong. The foliage around the building were over grown, the windows were covered in what seems to be tarp from the inside. Julian has been known to go for long periods of time working and creating inventions, but never to the point of neglecting himself and things around him. Chuck tried opening the front door to learn that Julian had changed the lock. Suddenly, a chain crashed down onto the concrete driveway inches away from Chuck causing him to fall over.
“Chuck, this is our secret. Climb up before anyone sees you”
whispered Julian, coming from the second floor. Before ascending the chain Chuck paused for a moment. Something didn’t feel right at all, what would be waiting for him up above? Is Julian in a right state of mind from being isolated for a while? Chuck shook his head, trying to calm his nerves. He’s known Julian for almost ten years now, and if Julian isn’t in a good position, he needs to be there for his friend. Chuck put the file of paperwork between his teeth and began to climb the chain. Reaching the window, Chuck could see that even the rooms inside the building were being neglected. Papers and trash thrown about, equations and notes scribbled all over the chalk board, only a few small lights were illuminating the room. In the dim glow of the lights, Chuck could make out the silhouette of Julian.
“Julian….what happened here? Are you alright?”
Chuck gently spoke as the struggled to climb through the window. Julian stood up and walked over to the hedgehog gripping at the windowsill and picked him up as if he was lighter than air. He set him down and crouched to get to eye level with Chuck. The first thing Chuck noticed was the hair on Julian’s head was carelessly shaved off, with a few bloody stitches replacing what was there before. Julian looked like he hadn’t seen the sun in forever, his eyes were covered by a small pair of dark goggles that seemed to be warning Chuck not to do anything stupid.
“We did it, we finally did it.”
Julian sighed. He stood up and walked slowly to his work table as if he were in a daze.
“Listen, it’s wonderful that you got the Robotizer working, but we need to get you to the hospital. The scars on your head aren’t looking to good and-“
Chuck was interrupted by Julian’s joyful yet menacing laugh. He turned back towards Chuck, a tooth baring grin stretched across his face.
“Chuck, we are doctors, I’m positive I know what I’m doing when it comes to stitches and such.”
“But we’re not those kind of doctors! How’d you get them anyways? What happened here?”
Julian reached behind him and picked up a small device off from the table. The Beta Robotizer, a small machine that can turn any flesh and blood into metal and data. It is small enough to fit your hand or even a small creature such as a mouse. Julian beckoned Chuck to come closer as he once again crouched to make sure he speaks to him face to face. Cautiously, Chuck walked over to Julian and pulled up a stool, waiting for Julian to explain himself.
“I apologize for not contacting you for so long. I just didn’t want to risk anyone else figuring out what we’re doing. But I believe I made enough security measures for us to finally get back to work.”
“I see…. Now about the stitches.”
“Ah yes, don’t worry about them. While testing the Robotizer I fell and busted my head open on the counter. But it was worth it in the long run, the Robotizer is a success and we need to begin working on a bigger one.”
Chuck smiled softly, knowing that his friend seemed to be okay. Exhausted and a bit delirious, but okay. However, a question came across Chuck’s mind that filled him with dread. As much as he knew he’d probably hate the answer, he just had to ask:
“Julian, you said you were testing the Robotizer, and even said it worked. But…. But what did you test it on exactly?”
Julian’s grin began to creep up on his face again, softly chuckling to himself as the reached up towards the back of his head to unclip the goggles that were covering his eyes. Chuck jumped back and fell off the stool in pure fear and shock after as Julian’s chuckle turned into a hardy laugh.
“YOUR EYES?!? ARE YOU INSANE?! This is a prototype! If something went wrong you could’ve went blind or worse!” Chuck yelled in frustration.
Julian’s eyes, now just black cameras with red lenses replacing his pupils and sclera followed Chuck’s movements, creating a whirring sound at every gaze. Bright red nerves had appeared around the sockets, as well as bruising that was slowly swelling and leaking a strange oil-like liquid.
“My vision has never been more clear, I haven’t even been using much light because I can now clearly see in the dark! They save me time and energy when working. Chuck, imagine what we could do with this, if we built a bigger one to fully robotize someone, we can change the world as we know it!”
Julian stood up and began to shuffle through the papers Chuck had brought. Chuck just sat in silence, not knowing what to say about the matter. He was very happy that their project had worked, but seeing Julian’s eyes and how they function, it filled him with a sense of unease.
“I’m glad that you were still working on the project while I was gone. All this new info and changes can help us a lot in the process.” Julian said as he put them back into the file.
He turned to Chuck and noticed that he looked like he was looking unwell, almost as if he was going to be sick. Julian sighed and placed a hand on Chuck’s head, petting him while making sure not to prick his fingers on his quills.
“Look, when we finally complete the main Robotizer, we will look back knowing that it was worth it. Tell you what, instead of working on it like I asked you tonight, go ahead and go home to rest. Come back this weekend and we can get started.”
Chuck glanced up at him, Julian was giving him a gentle smile, but his metal eyes glared back with no emotion or concern.
“Yeah…. It’s late anyways and I have work tomorrow.”
Chuck says as he begins reach for his papers, only to be interrupted by Julian slamming his hand on the files.
“Don’t worry about all that stuff right now.” Julian said guiding Chuck to the window.
“Right now you need to rest and get your mind at ease so we can get back to work. You have a good night, I’ll call you later tomorrow to check on you.”
Chuck lowered himself gently to the ground, barely breaking the silence of the woods around him. He sat there for a moment, wondering why Julian would do such a thing to himself. And why a bigger Robotizer? The plan was to make small ones to help in medical procedures. There was no real need to rush things right now. Chuck sighed, hopefully this will pass over him and it will all be worth it in the end. As he hoped on to his motorcycle and drove down the path, he peered over his shoulder towards the window in the laboratory. Where he could see the red eyes of his friend shining through the glass.

H for 31. Red/Kitty of course 💛
Feel free to send me a combination too! 😊
H 31: Home, Red/Kitty
Autumn, 1980.
The kids, all of them, are finally out of Red and Kitty's house. Eric and Donna arrived at Madison, without a kick in their asses to send them in their way. He's majoring in Philosophy. Good thing he paid his own way to college.
Steven moved to Milwaukee with the loud one. He's learning the ropes of the music industry while she studies at Marquette University. Laurie's ... some damn place. Not here.
The Kettlehead reconciled with the mother of his one-year-old. They live in Chicago. And the -- and Fez went to some culinary school out of state.
Red's home is quiet, just the way he likes it.
***
Kitty returned home from her morning at the Knitting Club. She enters the kitchen through the sliding glass door, and her foot mashes a crunchy ... something beneath it. She checks the bottom of her shoe. A splotch of brown goo sticks to it. Schatzi is house-trained, so she rules him out as the cause. Another step forward, and another crunch.
She glances at the floor. It's covered in scattered Milk Duds. "Red?" she shouts into the living room.
Red hurries to the kitchen. "What is it? Are you all right?"
"Can you tell me why my kitchen floor is covered in candy?"
"I could "
"Well?"
Red fiddles with his rolled-up sleeve cuff. "I said I could, not that I would."
"Red."
"Why don't you go upstairs and get comfortable while I sweep up the mess?"
Kitty is not in the mood -- in every meaning of the phrase. "Oh, I'll go upstairs. But I expect an explanation once you've cleaned all this up."
She shoves the broom into his hands and leaves the kitchen.
***
Music plays on the hi-fi in Kitty and Red's bedroom. He needed to work on his seduction technique. He's obviously gotten rusty. First Milk Duds on her kitchen floor; now rock music in their bedroom.
She presses stop on the cassette player and removes the cassette. Led Zeppelin, Houses of the Holy. That was Steven's tape. She puts it down on her nightstand but spots a strange figure on Red's.
She gasps. "That's Eric's G.I. Joe doll!"
***
Red swept the kitchen floor clean in a jiffy and holds his bottle of super glue. He unrolls his shirt sleeve, applies glue to the refrigerator door handle, and presses his sleeve against it. A good tug a few minutes later, and he's definitely stuck.
Well, not really. All he has to do is take off his flannel shirt. But after five minutes of standing by the fridge, he laughs. An hour or two would have his knees aching and legs buckling.
***
Kitty places Eric's G. I. Joe doll on Eric's shelf. His room is filled with much of her son's life but not her son.
Red should've come upstairs already. On her return to the kitchen, she mutters to herself about his strange attitude. He's been off the last few weeks, ever since --
"Oh, my God! What have you done?" Kitty stares at Red's current state. She sees what he'd done, but she doesn't understand why.
He shrugs his right shoulder, the only one he probably can shrug, considering he's glued his left arm to the fridge. "Just trying something new," he says.
"Something new? You ... "
The Milk Duds on the kitchen floor. Steven's music in their bedroom. Eric's doll.
She places her hands over her heart. "You miss the kids."
Red clears his throat, but his voice wobbles anyway: "I don't miss them. I'm not used to this place being so -- so -- "
"Normal?"
"Yes! It doesn't feel right, Kitty. Chaos feels right. Being disrupted at every turn by a teenager wanting something, needing something, hiding something. That feels right. This ... 'normal' isn't our normal."
Kitty approaches him and cups his cheeks. "If you want chaos, I can give you chaos. I knitted myself a pair of undergarments this morning, and a thread is loose."
"Is that right?" He smirks and strokes her shoulder with his right hand.
"You can pull it if you want. Who knows what might unravel?"
***
Kitty kisses Red on the lips, deeply enough that his body reacts.
"See you upstairs," she says and darts from the kitchen.
He moves to follow, but he's wrenched back by his left sleeve. The damn thing was glued to the refrigerator door. By him. Kelso is an idiot, and acting like Kelso made anyone an idiot, too -- except Red was too smart to put super glue in his skin.
He wriggles free of his flannel shirt. It dangles from the fridge, but Red envisions the dangling thread of Kitty's underwear as he races upstairs.

Homecoming?
Tumblr media
Summary: You've been dating Eddie for a while, and know how he feels about "modern conformity" but how does he feel about a school dance?
tags: Eddie x Fem! reader, established relationship, fluff
word count: around 1k
The leaves crunched softly beneath the flats you had on this cool autumn day. You knew that the choice in wardrobe was not the smartest, and you should’ve gone for something more supportive given you had to walk to school but other thoughts accompanied your head. Other thoughts that were all centered around one boy: Eddie Munson. More specifically, how you were gonna ask your boyfriend of five months to go to Homecoming with you. The boy who refused to go and attend any activity related to school unless the Hellfire Club was involved. He has always, and plans to continue his streak of rejecting mainstream conformity, which of course included the school dances.
How could you not want Eddie to go though? He already looked like a walking dream in just his regular garments– black ripped jeans, white (sometimes black) shirt, rings, and bandana— but just imagining what he would look like in a suit. With his freshly washed hair, a tailored suit that you knew he had stashed somewhere becaused Wayne insisted he ‘have it just in case’, regular set of rings, and just the right amount of cologne to enhance the smell of him. Seeing his reaction to the dress you would keep secret from him when he arrives to pick you up, the polaroids that your parents would insist on taking before departing, the cocky smirk Eddie would give up after noticing you blush to a compliment he paid your way. That imagined fantasy of the perfect night all depended on if your Eds would say yes or not. And you weren’t too sure which he would choose.
The dance was two weeks away and you figured now was the best time to ask. Swallowing the immediate heartbeat that you believed was not only stuck in your throat, but also was loud enough to be heard from a one mile radius, you began to move towards Eddie’s lunch table.
There is the metal music lover himself, having what seems to be a very lively conversation with Dustin Henderson.
“Look, all I’m saying is that what my girl wants she gets, ok. She doesn’t have to worry about every needing anything, or even asking for something… well that is unless we’re doing-”
You interject quickly with a “Hey babe” in an attempt to end wherever that conversation was going, fearful your boyfriend was going to spew your sex life to a bunch of Freshmen. You loved that he loved to please you, but given how nervous you already were about the conversation you had practiced for the past twenty minutes, this was not one of the moments Eddie needed to get your blood hot for something more than just a peck.
“Hey princess, I was just about to tell Dusting about that lil trick you did the other-” you put one finger on his plump lips to end his sentence abruptly. He looked down at your finger and back at your eyes with a sly glint in his eye. Before he took the chance to say anything else you quickly stated “can we go talk in private?” Eddie, being the ever considerate boyfriend that he is, nodded his head with a knowing look. He could tell that you were anxious, possibly even worried, but what about? He had no idea about that one.
You pull him by the hand to a quiet corridor, finally feeling the rhythm of your heart calm slightly (probably because you were so close to Eddie). “So angel” he slowly caresses the sides of your arms “what’s going on in that big brain of yours?” He takes one of his ring clad fingers and taps it against the side of your head slightly in a lightly teasing way. Just one of the many examples of your Ed attempting to remedy a situation with laughter. If you could bottle up his giggle, the one that caused wrinkles to form beside his eyes and a higher pitch noise come out of his body, you would. And that bottle would be your prized possession. “Eddie this is going to sound stupid, and I already know what your answer will most likely be, but I just know that if I didn’t say something I would always wonder what if right? And I can’t always wonder that because that’s how relationships begin to break apart, the resentment I would have about this whole conversation never happening would only spill into the rest of… well it would spill over into the rest of everything… so I just know I have to say-". Now it’s Eddie’s turn to place a finger over your lips that were stained from a black cherry hued lip balm. Eddie shushes you effectively, ending the needless rambling you had done for an embarrassing amount of time. “No need to strain yourself, and don’t talk about us resenting each other, I don’t like it. And I really don’t like the future me possibly not being in a relationship with you because of whatever is going on.” His warm brown eyes now peering down from above you; telling you without using an ounce of air that everything will be ok.
You hold his gaze, and take a deep breath “Eddie, would you like to go to Homecoming with me?” Before you could get into another anxious spiel of how it would be completely ok for him to say no, and how you could also completely understand if he thought it was stupid or dumb or to ‘conforming’ for him, he did something unexpected. He moved his hands to your waist and encircled your body with his lean muscular arms only to lower his head until the lips you were touching less than five minutes ago were right beside your ear. “Princess, you know I would follow you anywhere, that includes some high school dance” he says in a deep voice. One that reminds you of times that he almost exposed to Dustin moments earlier. And maybe it was how safe you felt right now: encircled by Eddie’s warm body with his hair softly brushing against you, the only reminder that you were at Hawkins was the painted tiger on the wall that was barely in sight, but you swore this would be a memory the two of you would have forever.
A/N: Hey! This is the second piece of work I have ever done lol, I also don't really like the ending aksdjfaopw
