Thank you so much for your ask, I really appreciate it :)

Unfortunately I have been up to my neck with my university courses as of late, and as a result haven't been able to really get any writing done outside of it. I have, however, been slowly chipping away at crocheting a really cute Smaug plushy and a cardigan inspired by Noah Kahan's Stick Season album. I'd say those are what's keeping me sane right now 😅.

As for plans for this year, I'm really hoping to get the second act of Make It Out written and out to the masses, workshop my abandoned Halloween WIP, and HOPEFULLY start planning out another fic idea that's been eating me alive. I may also start to dabble in other fandom fic work, as I've gotten especially fond of the BBC Merlin show as well as obsessing over a new sequel series (The Magnus Protocol) to my favourite horror podcast (The Magnus Archives). Now, that isn't to say I'll be leaving the Hobbit fandom, but simply I'll be expanding my creative abilities :)

The one thing I'm most excited to be working on... Hmm, now that's a tough question. I'm (almost) always happy to be trucking away at MIO, but I think starting on something new will be exciting as well! I've already started the research for this au and I think it's gonna be really fun to try and navigate.

Whether it be a personal goal your hoping to achieve, an event you're looking forward to, or even something fandom related. I know the start of this year hasn't been treating you very kindly so I hope that I can bring a little bit of light with this ask 💜

I've missed you! I feel like we've been ships in the night for the past few months, and it's lovely to hear from you! And this is such a nice question, thank you so much for sending it to me!

Well, something I'm looking forward to this year... I'm going to London in July! I was meant to be going last week to stay in a hotel and watch Phantom of the Opera at the West End (which has been on my bucket list for yeeeears) but because of my fall down the stairs and then catching pneumonia, I couldn't make it.

But! All is not lost, because even though my ticket was non-refundable, I called the theatre and spoke to a very kind lady who let me pick another date to exchange to, so yay! Now I'm going in July, *and* I'll be seeing The Killers at the O2 that same week! I'm really looking forward to it, I've got a cute little hotel booked and I'm going to do some other fun stuff, too! It's going to be lush!

This was super fun to talk about! I got a bit sad when it all happened and I realised I wouldn't be able to go, but! Being able to answer this lovely ask to you has made me excited again, so thank you!

Hello! I come bearing music recommendations on this fine day as I recall you mentioning liking learning what others listen to :)

If you haven't heard of him already, I highly recommend checking out Gregory Alan Isakov for all your folk-y, romantic (not in the love way, but the whimsical way), calm music needs! His music makes me think of how grass dances in the wind, the slate ocean on a cloudy day, old farm houses, and watching the world run away from the window of a train carriage. Some of my personal faves from him include Amsterdam, Big Black Car, If I Go I'm Goin, San Luis, and Dandelion Wine. He's also done a collab album with the Colorado Symphony which just gives me goosebumps everytime, it's amazing.

Another artist I recommend for more of a dark academia, fantasy, adventure-ish vibe is BANNERS. His songs remind of old castles, black and white and gold colour schemes, and running through the forest in a fancy dress. I recommend these songs from him: Half Light, Someone To You, Got It In You - Acoustic, Ghosts, and Start A Riot. To me, his music is a very good source of inspiration when struggling with a bit of writing, it just gets me in the right mood to write something fun.

Recently I've found my playlists a bit uninspiring, and I wanted to make a new playlist for TPATB but couldn't find The Vibe, you know. I ended up just hopping about from one playlist to another, switching each one after about twenty minutes because it didn't suit my mood, then lo and behold, here you are with this beautiful list!

Ohh, so many brilliant sounding titles, can i ask about "An Oliphant or Two" please?

I'm so glad this one intrigued you, this idea has been floating around in my head ever since I joined the Hobbit fandom (but I've just never sat down to actually write it out whoops).

The idea of this fic is that Bilbo and Thorin are living peacefully in the Shire, raising Frodo as best they can. Often times that includes having playdates with the young Gamgee boy, Samwise. Sam loves coming over to Bag End, if not to visit with his best friend, than to listen to the stories Mister Bilbo and Mister Thorin like to share. They tell tales of trolls, shapershifters, and dwarven mishaps, but perhaps Sam's favourite stories are the ones that include Elves—much to Thorin's dismay and Bilbo's chagrin.

One day, during a playdate between the boys, the topic of wild creatures are brought up. And so begins tales of wargs and ponies, and Radagast's amazing rabbits, and various other creatures of that sort, which leads young Sam learning about Oliphants. He's transfixed. Cannot get enough about them.

By the end of the week, a present awaits him.

Ahhhh, what a great question!! Okay, so no spoilers, but I have a scene coming up in chapter three that I've been planning for a While! There's one line of dialogue that I have planned for Bilbo that honestly makes me snigger when I think of it. The idea came to me when I was writing Soldier, so I left it in my very sparse notes to remind myself, and when I saw it there this month I fully snort-laughed!

Genuinely hope it's well received, but at this point who can say??
