Unfortunately, these two are your subordinates, your partners in criminal work, your associated murderers in the underground business. Even though Double Black is all scary and terrifiyingly violent, you thought they were a pair of funny, immature and idiotic assholes.

Dazai Osamu, a lanky, greasy boy wrapped in bandages, loved dying. Yes, he wanted to fucking die, but he doesn't. You sometimes question his skill of staying alive after that many suicide attempts, but it's alright, you suppose. The mafioso had messy brown hair and wore massive suits that did not fit him and constantly smells like dog shit. He claims he has a silver tongue with women but the only woman he 'has' is the front-desk suicide hotline lady. If somebody ever asked your opinion on him, you would answer.. "He's.. interesting."

Next is Chuuya Nakahara, a short, but strong arrogant boy who is frustratingly brutal. Veeery brutal. He's extremely competitive and takes every minor activity as a sweat-inducing challenge. Karaoke is a pain when he's screaming his ass off, simplistic cooking or baking is horrifiying because this shithead works like he's donating food to charity as if his fatass isn't going to inhale everything afterwards, and any sort of video game was devasting, any one.

He had short ginger hair and stormy azure eyes. His fashion sucked until Koyou, a fellow superior of yours knocked some sense into him. Chuuya had a rather small figure but fairly muscled. Some dumbass landed you three in jail for a reason you'd rather not speak of, and now you have to deal with the aftermath of waiting for your 'beloved' guardian, Mori Ougai to come bail you three out.

"Mackerel," Chuuya jabs Dazai's side, intensely glaring at him. "Why'd you get the guard's attention? I could've smoked." he hisses, causing the taller boy to snap back at him with an eyeroll. "Nah it's fine, I don't have a lighter anyway." you mediate the tension, boredly playing with the flimsy cigarette box in your hand. The redhead scoffs a little, leaning back in the concrete seat of the jailcell, impossibly manspreading further. "We could use Dazai's hot ass breath as a makeshift lighter.." Chuuya suggests with a smirk, the lanky teenager sassily scoffs, "Or rub pipsqueak's oily hair until it catches fire."

"Like- how would that make a fire?" you retort in amusement, "Have you ever been to a science class?" Dazai and Chuuya shrug in sync unshamefully,

"Was busy protectin' gangsta kids."

"Missed most of middle school 'cause of an attempt."

Dazai's eyebrows knit in amusement and embarrassment at the sight, "Pipsqueak, you are NOT smooth." the ginger almost glitches as he flew away from you at those words, now chasing the brunette around the jailcell.

"'Playfighting between you guys is a fuckin' hazard, even for the mafia." you mumble, placing the unlit cigarette between your lips to feel the sensation once more. "This isn't playfighting! I'm gonna kill his ass!" Chuuya pants between missed kicks thrown at Dazai. I feel that there can be potential darkness in Larry and Lawrie and I will not not cook about it even if it’s trash

But I have a question, do they have morality?

Now listen Morality can equal to laws but laws can’t be equal to morality

For example, there could’ve been laws that hurt a certain minority or laws that would’ve shield people away from the truth of their country or something. You know dictators control.

And personally I think they’re more laws than morality or at least choosing laws over people/morality.

In my HC they prob see the world in a black and white situation. You’re either good or bad and though while there may be some cases that it’s gray I think they wouldn’t think about too much or they’ll follow the rules even if they care.

(Though this is a bit of a bad take since I HC Lawrie as trans but then again apparently there’s Transphobic Trans People soo there’s that but there’s still plenty of ways to explore this though)

And with this, this is why I like contrasting or have them interacting with Willow and Angelo.

Both Willow and Angelo are unapologetically themselves, yes they are mean and toxic but they’re themselves enjoying what they like.

And with their toxicity L+L have to control them the very thing that Willow and Angelo don’t like.

Which is why I like thinking interactions of them, it’s mostly comedy but I think there can be potential well say foils or opposite viewpoints ish.

Again Angelo and Willow are unapologetically themselves mean and toxic but what if I told you there can be still morality ish to them?

Ex: They can be mean to other mean or even worse people.

Plus they could have gray viewpoints (or I guess black ish gray they’re more in the selfish side)

Ex: I feel like both of them (or Angelo) would know that no matter what people will still hate you. You may be absolute perfection doing nothing wrong following rules and being a good person overall. People will still hate you. And plus you have yourselves you don’t need anyone to approve of what you are, you have yourself to be approve of. And so they don’t have to be nice to everyone. Yes selfish, but so everyone else is actually. And that person you hate that also hate you? There could be a very valid reason that they hate you. Heck you’re maybe the problematic one here. (Long story short basically the song Villain by Stella Jang)

And with their contrasting viewpoints L+L would be like “we’re just trying to help people and have them follow rules!” And Willow and Angelo “rules mules do you have any idea that they can be bad and toxic too?” L+L “I see you have chosen death” Willow and Angelo “see here you are wanting to help people but wanting to kill us? Aren’t we people too? Monsters can be human and human can be monsters. Anyways ew we’re speaking like we have morality so like- HAHAHAHA NOPE FOR FUN 4EVER FOOLSSSS”

HISTORY The Herrera family is not too much to write home about. They are a pretty average family for Tombstone. They are not involved in any illicit activities, they are always there to help out the town when it needs it, however. They are good people, and well liked by the rest of the members of Tombstone. Ray is no different than the rest of his family in that regard, except he always stood out a little more. With his natural ability in most sports, and how well he did in school people loved him. He ended up being the person many people compared others to. "Look at Ray he managed to win a football game this weekend AND ace his math test." "Look at Ray he's volunteering to help clean up main street with the rest of the church." "Look at Ray he's never done anything wrong in his life." None of it is necessarily false, he has always worked very hard to please those around him. Yet Ray still feels like a fraud. Like everyone else in Tombstone he has his own secrets he's terrified of telling. It might not seem like much, but being a gay kid in the middle of a tiny rural town in the 80s is ... fairly scary. Especially when you spend your entire life trying to please the people around you, and be perfect for them. Ray isn't sure if he even has his own identity, or if he is just someone people want him to be. And anything differing from what they want to see is terrifying to him.

GOALS Ray has always been a lawful young man. Which caused some contention in class when he was the person to bring up that the teacher forgot to ask for the assignment from over the weekend, or other ridiculous things like that. But he tries to be honest, and true. So, when he showed interest in joining law enforcement most people were unsurprised. But this has been a goal of his since he was young. Since the incident with the barn when he was only twelve. He lived in a world where half of Tombstone was not entrenched in crime -- and then the explosion happened. People he knew were hurt, people he knew were killed. He wanted to do something to help people, and he suddenly became very interested in becoming a cop. There aren't many police officers in the Municipal building in Tombstone, about five to ten honestly. But Ray is very excited to be among their ranks.

IDEAS

The Police: Give me a corrupt police office that Ray has to slowly figure out how to deal with. He is the sort of man who sticks to his ideals even when it's not the best course of action. And I think he'll be very upset when/if he ever finds out the police are likely in Waylon Fyers pockets. I could see this tying into his thing with The Entrepreneur & perhaps she can try to convince him to ... help her outst her father. If that happens then ... the police will be outsted as well. And there could be a cleaning of the rot within the system so to speak. A lot of very interesting things I could see coming from that.

Moving Out: Currently Ray still lives with his parents, but he's saving up his money to live on his own. I think it'd be really fun to have a roommate. Likely the Shopkeeper would be his first choice, but it'd be super fun to be absolutely anyone. The Laborer, The Criminal, maybe The Unholy. Honestly it could be anyone. Maybe more than one. It's a little thing but I think it can be a lot of fun.

Coming Out?: I think I would really like Ray to come out, and be public with his sexuality. It'll be tough, he really doesn't want to ... put anyone out. Or be something people don't see him as. But I think it would be really good for him. But it's the 80s, yes gay people aren't as accepted as they are now, but there was a revolution in the 80s about all of this. It'd be fun to have him like idk go to New York for a weekend or something and see how things are there. IDK just needs to figure out who he is as a person, he needs to gain confidence in who he is as a person. And listening to stories my uncle told me, who came out around this same time in a rural town in the mid west -- he might end up surprised how little people around him might or might not care?? He might have a tough time with the overly religious sorts in town, but I feel like most people ?? Mind their own business. At least that is the ideal for what I would like to happen. He has a lot to deal with before that tho.

F is for Friends who do things Together:

1. Okay so like Ray loves his bff, his platonic soul mate, his forever girl the Shopkeeper. I imagine he'd be super protective of her, and like try and help her get through all her treatments and stuff. He'd try to be there if he wasn't working and things like that. She means a lot to him, and if anything were to happen to her oh boy. 2. Ray ... hm. It's not that he doesn't want to be friends with the Working Girl anymore. He just has a lot of complicated feelings about her, and the fact that she sort of ... does illegal things now. Not only that but more complicated about the fact that were he not a big gay she would likely have been the girl he could see himself end up marrying. I think that second reason is the bigger reason why he's stayed away from her more and more over the years. But I'd like for them to be friends again. 3. So Ray has so so much respect for The Laborer. Like I can't even ... This is someone who has proven that you can work to become a better person. You can work to make the town better, not worse. At least that is how he likes to see it. I imagine since The Laborer works for his aunt they probably hand around the auto shop together a lot. 4. Another person Ray has extremely complicated feelings about is The Criminal. Like ... he wants to say what they had was nothing but physical but it was so not. He doesn't know if he had 'feelings' for him?? Maybe he did. The Criminal can easily cause him to lose his fucking shit at the drop of a hat and that's not easy. And I think it's because ... yes, he does have feelings for him. Not just physical feelings... 5. I feel like Ray likes The Entrepreneur more than he'd ever admit to, but they aren't friends. They're not rivals, or frienemies either. They could very well be antagonists to each other ig. But she's so smart, and he feels like she could be a lot better. Better for the town than her father anyway. I talked about them a little before, I'd definitely like to see some things w them. 6. The Cook is the wildcard for a lot of people, Ray just ... he does not know how to feel about her. She's so different than him, so I feel like they could really clash. He is so lawful, and she is so chaotic -- I like to say everyone is friends with The Cook, I feel like Ray is the 1 person who isn’t.  7. I think it's extremely likely Ray and the Unholy are friends. I kind of see them having run in the same crowds growing up, and probably still do. I don't think he'd suspect anything negative of the Unholy. Imagine Ray getting in his way unknowingly, or something like that. I feel like he’d be so blindsided that The Unholy had ever done anything bad ever. slkdfjl I think a lot of really interesting drama can happen here.

My Happiness Project

1. January: Boost energy: Live a healthier lifestyle (body and mind) - Eat healthier -- save eating out only for weekends. Meal prep/take leftovers         for lunch! Stay hydrated - Exercise daily; not does 1 squat; might call in thicc tmr - Be well rested ~ take your naps; sleep early. - Distance yourself away from technology - Take in nature -- go for a walk, meditate. Put phone on pause and enjoy - Read self help books (~20min a day)

2. February: Show some love: Be a better partner be the wife you envisioned yourself to be - Physical: Show and respond to affection, even if it’s outside ur comfort zone - Emotional: Listen; try to understand why he’s feeling the way he is; and support him - Stop nagging him - Pay attention to his interests - Surprise him - Mental: Give both of you peace of mind -- Make time to go on dates!

3. March Remember family comes first: dogs, parents and siblings - Make time to spend with dogs: Walks everyday. Let them sleep on the bed. Play catch with them. Acknowledge them when you come home!! - Hang out with parents more: go out to eat sometimes, how was their day? Tell them things about your day. Spoil them once in a while! - Plan to kick it w/ madi: Ross dates! Or any dates 4. April Communicate - Don’t be afraid to reach out to people first: make plans first, text them first    - Be responsive: don’t hesitate to respond to messages, emails, phone calls …        just respond - Visit old friends/work places - Do not shy away from confrontation: if st is bothering you, make it known, be upfront - Don’t burn bridges: If things aint jus working out, be classy about what’s bothering you. Put in your two weeks!  5. May Parenting: Be a better mom - Well honestly this is something that u are continuously working on but - Mommy up! When spending time with baby, put the phone down and focus on him - Add to his scrapbook // make a photo album for his first year - Thoroughly plan his birthday - May 29th marks Baby’s official 1 year; and your 1 year anniversary of being a parent

6. June Try something new: practice creativity - Learn a new skill!  - Cook meals you’ve never cooked before - CRAFT something - Eat at a new restaurant 7. July Have fun - Plan your next getaway - Plan a date or activity with friends  - Enjoy a glass of wine after work - Treat yourself! 8. August Be financially responsible - Take control of your spending - Resist impulsive purchases - Pay off or consolidate debt! 9. September Practice altruism: Do good, feel good - volunteer  - random acts of kindness! - compliment people - donate 10. October Carry yourself better: work on your presentation. - Look good, feel good -- Take the extra time to doll up - Drop the cursing lingo - Watch how you respond to gossip bc even tho you didn’t start it, you shouldn’t be fueling it - Be prettier: inside and out

11. November Externalize your feelings this will prob be the toughest to do** tbh may need to hire a therapist for this goal yikes getting stressed jus thinking about it **** - take the time to THINK about what you’re feeling, what you want to do, what you want to say - REFLECT: even if it means you need to write it out, then write - Be assertive: put on ur bad bitch attitude and say what u want to say!!!111 Use your voice - put on ur bad bitch attitude and say what u want to say!!!111

12. December Follow through with your commitments:  - If you make a chore list, be realistic and write down what you know you can get done - Motivate yourself to do things regardless of ur mood!  - Make time to be productive, even if it means less free time for you. (bc being productive feeds into ur happiness)

Be better all around: to Garrett, to baby Everett, to the dogs, to my family. Envision the best image of yourself and then just keep showing up as her. and for the love of god LOVE YOURSELF: None of this can happen unless we start with you “take back a part of your life. we give everything to the baby and we wouldn’t have it any other way... but it’s important that we share some of that love with ourselves. we owe ourselves that much.”
