Honestly it was such a good show 😭 I love Tina& Amy so much and have been fans of them for forever so it was everything I expected and more. I know they’re touring through next year and hopefully they keep adding more cities so you can see them too!

Also, seeing Orville irl was so funny because the hat and mask are his disguises but it actually just makes him stand out more so the whole YouTube theater saw him come in. He also sat down like right before the show started and everyone else was already seated so there was a hush over the crowd as everyone watched him. Idk I laughed. Also also my friend was seated a few rows behind him and he blocked the view with his giant cowboy hat so she took a picture and since I was seated a few rows in front you can see the back of my head… and that’s how I technically have a picture with Orville Peck lmao

Also, it’s kinda funny that Marvel repeatedly acknowledges that CA:TWS is their best and most popular movie (bc it genuinely is, even the film bros regard it far higher than IW and EG) yet they have two of the main characters from that movie that they can expand on and make similar storylines with and they just……give them half baked arcs and messy scripts, or cut their screen time……

not to actually have faith in atlus of all companies but I feel like people REALLY heel face turned immediately at p3r yesterday unnecessarily

1) I’m actually pro re-casting. As much as I love (most of) the original cast, the game DID come out nearly 20 years ago. Some of the original actors have also had a lot of controversy attached to them as well. It’s really great to see new faces, especially such a diverse group. These guys deserve your faith in them, because they are probably already aware that they have big shoes to fill and y’all saying “not my Akihko” or w/e is not helpful. I totally understand if people are wary if the original cast was not asked at all to come back, because that’s shitty. But seeing as how I’ve heard that some of them retweeted the new actor’s announcement tweets it makes it feel like there’s no bad blood there.

2) I may be wrong, but I (like Faz) interpreted “No FES content” as there wouldn’t be The Answer as opposed to No Aigis/Elizabeth social link and other in-base game FES content. Apparently someone saw weapon fusion in the minimap in a screenshot, which IS something that was introduced in FES. We’ll see if I’m just engaging in wishful thinking there….

3) I am also sad about no FemC. But even in P3P the devs made it clear that the game was written with the male protagonist in mind. They outright state to NOT play as FemC unless you’ve played with the male protagonist first and that she was meant for more “experienced players.” Considering they’re rebuilding this entire game from the ground up as well, it unfortunately makes sense for them to want to focus on one for now. I’m not a game developer, so I don’t know how difficult and time consuming this is, but it seems to me that it would be very much so. Now if they DO eventually release her as paid DLC that would be a mega dick move, I will say.

4) guys there’s no way in hell with a remade game that they’re going to keep forced romance in social links, you all are jumping to conclusions lmao

5) while this is a fun surprise for older fans of p3, I can’t help but think this remake is intended for folks newer to the series. OR (god forbid) folks that started with p5 and are intimidated by the more SMT grindy style of the earlier games. like it or not, those people exist. and they should get to experience the game too.

#i was doing nanoprep by the book. i was like okay; i can’t pick an idea and a lot of people have said it’s easier to finish nanowrimo with #a fresh idea rather than trying to resurrect an old novel idea #because if you have a brand new fresh idea you don’t have any preconceived notions of how it should turn out #whereas if you’re working on an idea you’ve had for a WHILE you’re already way too invested #and you’ll get bogged down in making sure everything is perfect (which is NOT going to happen in one month) and you’ll get frustrated #so i was like okay. brand new idea. so i did the idea generation prompt (which is just to write down a bunch of things you like/are #interested in) and i was like ‘wait. about 6 of my favourites can probably fit perfectly together here’ #they were: pirates; ancestral curse; time loops; two timelines intersecting; gothic vibes #and a tragic/bittersweet love story #so i was like okay. i can definitely do something with this #it’s not Entirely new if i have to be totally honest… i’ve been thinking about writing a pirate novel for years. but i never had a plotline #but now i have Something. i’m also using a couple of characters i’ve had for a while but honestly i wasn’t doing anything else #with august and henry. and all the other characters will be entirely new #we’re having a timeline in the 1650s and a timeline in 1905 and that’s about as much as i know right now #i’m fully expecting to open my notebook tomorrow and say ‘what the fuck’ because i’m sleep deprived and sad today so my ideas probably #aren’t half as good as i think they are. but right now i think they’re great so that’s enough for me #personal

I’ve come to a realization. (And yes, I’m still talking about Turtles)

In the last ~6 or so years media has shifted to being…nicer.

What I mean is, the characters actually like each other and there’s way less arguing amongst people who are supposed to be friends.

I finished rottmnt and had a whole dissertation written about the characterization in it, but instead of posting it I’ve been watching other tmnt media, specifically the creepy 2014 movie I hadn’t seen before, and now I’m rewatching the 2012 series, which I remembered loving.

They are…so mean to each. :(

Rise was different because the turtles very clearly loved each other, and there wasn’t this…classic mean-spirited poking-of-the-bear mentality between them.

To be clear, I love this nicening of media, but it can make it hard to go back and watch older things where the heroes, who are supposed to like each other, who are supposed to be friends or family, just…constantly bicker and make jabs at each other.

#I distinctly remember the first example of this nicening I saw was the force awakens. which I like better than new hope despite it being #a telling. bc the animosity bw Han Leila and luka is so off putting but Rey Finn and Poe are all such delights to each other #in theaters Xmas day 2015 I watched Finn and Poe escape and thought ‘wow they’re so nice 🥺’ #and also. yknow. something something the normalization of meanness and the correlation of abuse and bullying or whatever #and also also something something the conscious dismantling of toxic masculinity #even tho there were many story aspects of rottmnt that I thought could be better I do truly love the characterization of the boys #and that might just make them my favorite versions of the turtles to date #apple talks
