can you really talk about tim's tendency to idolize and place dick on a pedestal and his semi-entitlement to understanding dick without also talking about dick's tendency to project his own feelings and insecurities onto tim and also his semi-entitlement to his right to try and micromanage how tim should feel and react about things. i, personally, cannot.
#dick and tim#anyways trust me when i say that none of this is meant in a negative way because this is what i Like about them lmao#forever thinking of the M/F fight where dick expects that tim will go alone with his line of thinking just because he says so#and is shocked when tim doesn't and instead has his own thoughts and feelings abt the matter#and babs has to tell him that tim isn't him & had a fundamentally different experience to him#it's like hmmm very realistic to me#the way they do this to each other in a way that almost is depersonalizing but like isn't actually#it's more just that they understand each other so well most of the time that it's easy to forget that they're their own person#with their own thoughts and feelings#like hm. there is something very realistically siblings about it in that#older siblings do tend to try and dominate the relationship with their thoughts and feelings because#their first memories are of being expected to lead their sibling and the sibling usually comes at a time when the older sib is v possessive#so the older sibling conceives the younger sibling as belonging to them and being kind of a hm extension of them vs their own person#meanwhile the younger sibling has no knowledge of a life where the older sibling doesn't exist#and the younger sibling's experience is that of observation of the older sibling from basically the very first day of life#so the younger sibling will often see and perceive the older sibling in very interesting ways#they're always learning something with thay observation good or bad#and thus probably develop more instrinsic understanding than even the parents do#and conflict comes because each is their own person but it's hard to see them that way sometimes#anyways there's also another thread where for dick it's hard to conceptualize tim's family of origin as real compared to them#but that's like mainly headcanon just know i'm right and it's interesting

I am going FERAL over this imagine:
So basically Bruce brings reader home to be his new daughter/the boys' new sibling but Uh Oh! They now want you carnally and reader is just like "you said you wanted me as a daughter/sibling, wtf is this" and being their platonic darling is better than being shared between them romantically so reader tries to come off as innocent and child/sibling coded by being like "yeah I've never actually kissed or dated anyone before aren't I just so innocent" and the boys are like :)))
So then Dick says you can call him your boyfriend "just to feel it out" and Tim starts blatantly stealing your panties and Jason says he can give you your 1st kiss so you can "practice" with him and Bruce offers to teach you how to touch yourself and (and him) and when you try to walk it back cause the boys are being Freaks they're in their delulu era so eventually you end up tied to the bed with the boys and Bruce drawing straws over who gets to take what 1sts (like 1st date, kiss, virginity, ect).
And Damien is just in the background absolutely SEETHING cause the the boys and Bruce's Horny Time keeps interrupting his Mommy Time with the reader
And reader using Damien as kind of a shield cause what are they going to do, feel you up in front of a CHILD? Like just, "Stay Platonic :))"
Just that kind of pseudo incest makes me Feel Things (*/∀\*)(///∇///)
I'd love your thoughts/a fic based on this! Ty ❤️
TW: Brief mentions of pseudo incest(y) scenarios/behavior, manipulative tactics, yandere tendencies
(Okay so I’ll answer this with my thoughts for right now.)
I know I primarily write incest(y) related topics for my Game of Thrones/ASOIAF stuff but I have been tempted to/curious about branching it out into some of the other fandoms I write for 👀. (I’ve had a few ideas rolling around in my noggin for a bit if anyone is interested.) So I would be willing to give this a try. I’m down to experiment with some new stuff, within reason of course.
I imagine the Reader being older (probably 19-23), maybe even having been a runaway of sorts or not having a very stable home life, so when they’re given the ‘offer’ to become part of the family they’re looking to fulfill a familial void they’ve never experienced or have forgotten how it’s felt like. I definitely see Bruce and the rest of the boys keeping a very close eye on the Reader before they decide to finally bring them into their family, basically full on stalking them from the moment they caught their attention (you know how the Batfam works). It wouldn’t be a surprise if even before the Reader was with them physically that the boys developed a more carnal desire for them. At first, their intentions were completely platonic, but with all the lengthy observing and information gathering of their supposed-to-be-new-family-member eventually something changed in how they all saw their darling.
I really see the change in their obsession starting with either Dick or Tim first. Especially regarding some accidental or purposeful peeping Tom foolery. I feel like Bruce would be the last to fall victim to the change in direction or at the very least he’s the last one to admit to it. If Damian is younger than I see his obsession staying strictly platonic, but if he were much older than I could see him involving himself to the same depths as his family.
At first, I see things happening subtly. Knowing that at the very least a few of them are already in an obsessive-romantic headspace in regards to their darling before they even physically become part of the family the guys would try to be as welcoming as possible without revealing their true intentions. They don’t want to scare you off right away, they want you to walk into it semi-willingly at least. But the interactions with the Reader would show something else. The lingering touches, the being much closer to you than really necessary, the heated grazes over your clothes here and there that leave you wondering if that actually happened or not. I also kind of like the other members not being fully aware of each other’s change in obsession, everyone giving each other the side eye until it sets in and then all out war of who gets the darling to themself unfolds only to eventually end up with them working together and agreeing to share. That’s when Bruce’s heel-turn is revealed.
Once things get truly amped up, the interactions with the Reader really begin to escalate. The boys would walk around shirtless more often, all of them trying to get their darling to look at them, to really look at them. Eventually, it’s not just them being shitless but either them in nothing but their underwear or nothing at all. They start out as accidents but eventually it’s pretty loud and clear that the guys want you to see them, all of them, to even touch them and feel them to your hearts content. But thats not all, of course it’s not. The touching of their darling only gets all the more intense, to the point that you know damn well that they’re touching you and they want to leave you wanting for more. So much more. The Reader’s innocence and lack of experience would only spur them on even more. They absolutely thrive off of it. They all want to be your first, your first everything. There will be a lot of secret ‘lessons’ being given behind closed doors and telling of “Don’t tell Batdaddy or he’ll get real mad.” “Don’t let Jay know, or he’ll want to punish you for not doing this with him.” “Let this be our secret, (Name). Something just for you and me.” “Can’t tell anyone about this or they’ll ruin it for the both of us.” And they only get even worse from there.
I can’t see Alfred being okay with this in any situation, whatsoever. I think he especially would feel like Bruce and the other boys completely took advantage of the Reader and he would try his best to aid them in trying to keep up with the platonic intention of this entire fiasco. He would be a total cockblock, even going as far as helping Damian in his cockblocking endeavors. Alfred’s intention would be to play both sides so he knows how to help the Reader when it comes to Bruce and the others but it wouldn’t take too long for them to figure out that Alfred is working against them. Like, Alfred was all for the familial-platonic obsession but when things started getting more romantic he was ready to shut that shit down ASAP. You can’t tell me he hasn’t, at least a few times, locked Bruce, Dick, Jason, and Tim out of the house to give the Reader some peace and give Damian his much deserved allotted time with them.
Speaking of Damian, he is a menace (as per usual) but even more so than normal. He really doesn’t take too well to the new direction of his father’s and brothers’ obsession for the Reader. He thinks it’s pretty messed up but he sincerely likes and cares about the Reader and he wants them to stay, he wants them to continue being a part of the family forever so he’ll let some things slide. Some. He even may be willing to look the other way when it eventually comes to Bruce, Dick, Jason, and Tim baby-trapping the Reader if it means this whole ‘family’ thing becomes set in stone with the arrival of a new ‘sibling’. But for the most part, at least early on, Damian would be a huge pain in the ass for the other family members. He feels like he needs to step in to save his darling from the others and their ulterior motives. He’s all his parental/older sibling figure needs, at least at that point. He may even try to runaway with them to keep them safe from the others. Hell, he may even get his mother involved if he was desperate enough, especially if he saw the Reader as a parental figure. Or maybe even another Justice League member to either adopt him and the Reader so that he could have that family experience he was promised with the Reader. Or he would be completely content just living the rest of his life just him and the Reader, platonically of course.
It would either take Bruce or Dick to have a talk with Damian to get him to come to some agreement to allow them to continue with what they’re doing in regards to the Reader. I think Dick would get away with manipulating Damian much better than Bruce could. I think Damian would have some opinions about his father especially throughout this whole situation. Especially since I see Damian being very observant of how Dick, Jason and Tim are behaving towards the Reader early on and picking up on the fuckery taking place, even going as far as telling Bruce about it under the belief his father would be on his side (not ever fathoming the idea of his father also doing similar things to the Reader without him ever knowing). As far as Damian knew his father was completely platonic towards the Reader, as a ‘father’ should be. Right? So understandably Damian feels not only betrayed but also disgusted when he finds out that his father was and still is taking part in, acting in a similarly depraved fashion as the others.
Eventually, I could see them coming together and being one big ‘happy’ family. But it sure as hell comes at a price. (Usually the Reader’s freedom and sense of self outside of the obsession they’ve been dragged into, to drown in alongside their yandere(s).)

A small collection of KOTLC things Shannon told me at 3am
I promise she told me guys, this is totally legit
Dex Dizznee isn’t actually blonde but ginger, he gets his hair color from his dad. The three triplets all have strawberry blonde hair like their mom. His hair is also curly but like, loosely curly, and it’s really dry from all the shit he ‘experiments’ on it with.
Fitz Vacker once accidentally stumbled into a musical while in the human world and now absolutely loves musical songs. His favorite is Phantom of the Opera. It wasn’t like Alden was constantly watching him in the human world so he’d sometimes just sneak into theaters to listen and watch the shows.
Maruca Chebota is the most middle child ever. She has an older and a younger brother, but also another older cousin (Wylie) and two younger cousins. She’s even in the middle in terms of that, which is ironic because her mom is also the middle child between her two siblings.
Terik is Talentless, but he’s got basically a watered-down version of Empathy from his parents, who were both incredibly powerful Empaths who had been tasked with making sure Elves turned into myth for humans. He’s been scamming the whole Elven society for centuries and isn’t about to stop now.
Alina’s family was involved in a scandal when she was very young that resulted in them being cast out from the Nobility and their birth funds being revoked, though they were allowed to remain in Talentless cities. She decided to pursue Alden primarily for his family name - and the fact that she would up being one of the first people on his Match list was just the cherry on top. It made it even worse when he decided to marry Della instead, though at that point it was later enough she could detach herself from her family anyway.
Sophie Foster’s human family were anti-vaxx, Protestant, and Republican. Sophie was always a bit too busy trying to manage her telepathy to notice much about their political stances. Amy is growing to be significantly more liberal and had began to openly argue with them before everything in Nightfall happened.
Alina is Fitz’s biological mother. After Alvar was born and already not shaping up into the son Alden wanted by age 11, she used his desperation to Beguile him into having a child with her. When Alden realized what she’d done he did his best to cut all contact with her, though he did take Fitz, something with both Alina and Della resented. Alvar knew about this, which is why he dislikes Fitz so much while still loving his younger sister, Biana.
Livvy Soden is a triple agent, working in the Black Swan as a spy for the Neverseen as a spy for the Black Swan. No one is quite sure what her intentions are any more.
Wylie Endal has his own group of friends, who are all in their early 20s, and who love making fun of him for being forced to hang out with a bunch of teenagers. His best friend among them is Tanho, who’s Talentless, and was kicked out of his house at age 15 as a result after an abusive childhood. He stayed with Wylie and Tiergan for a few months after while trying to sort himself out, and is a large part of the reason why Wylie is now as observant and skeptical as he is.
Stina Heks isn’t actually an Empath, she’s a Mesmer, but a weak one. Not that she knows it.
It’s not actually Fitz who has the Nobility attitude towards humans, as in condescending and ignorant, though it does seem that way - he spent far too much time in the human world to not pick up on some of the good and interesting parts of humanity as well. It’s Biana, who spent most of her childhood being raised in a fairly isolated group of Elves who all had huge superiority complexes towards other species.
Ruewen is Edaline and Juline’s last names. Juline took Kesler’s last name to finally shut up her parents, who were harping on about how Kesler was using her for her family.
Grady Ruewen’s mother disappeared soon after he manifested as a Mesmer at age 12, resulting in a huge amount of people blaming him for it and his family, already in a precarious social position, to get hit even harder. Taking Edaline’s last name allowed him to entirely reform himself to a new person to the outside world. At least, until Jolie died.
Jolie Ruewen was a part of the Elven equivalent of a punk rock band, which tends to have a slightly more melodious (though still loud and chaotic) sound than human rock. Brant was their singer, and they had their first kiss during a concert, to excite the crowd even more. They decided they liked it and just kept doing it even off stage.
The movement began a few decades earlier, after an illegal trip to the human realm gave some twenty year old elves the idea to begin making their own instruments to try and mimic the sounds they found in the human world.
Tam and Linh Song grew up purposefully separated from each other, with Tam mainly spending time with their Dad and Linh their mom. As a result, Linh developed a love of painting, as it’s some of the only pleasant times she can recall with her mother, and Tam developed a hatred of economics and desk chairs.
Keefe Sencen and Linh Song are really good friends. No one else is aware of this. They also regularly vandalize council buildings.
Despite what certain artists and books will tell you, Elven houses are not made of crystal. They’re based on Ancient architecture, mainly using stone or wood or both, and have a wide variety of designs and patterns depending on where you go.
Most Elves do live in populated cities. Rimshire is a small-ish house located on the outskirts of Mysterium, not as close to the more densely populated parts of the city, but still with a lot of people. However, as Nobility usually do love in isolated, grand estates, it took a bit for Juline to get used to it. As Kesler grew up in a much smaller house with five siblings, he had the opposite experience.
Marella Redek’s favorite aunt is a Neverseen member. Marella is a Black Swan member. They have fought each other before and the next day hugged at a family gathering. Neither are aware of this.
Fitz Vacker talks to his stuffed animals. He has more than one - he has Mr Snuggles, obviously, but also Biana gave him one during Flashback, and Keefe made him one before he left for the Neverseen the first time. They all give different advice. Mr Snuggles sounds like Tiergan, the one Biana gave him sounds like Alvar, and the one Keefe made him sounds like Keefe.
Rayni Aria (Glimmer) was lying about her entire backstory in Stellarlune. Tam is the only one who knows what actually happened to her.
Rayni and Linh eventually grow to tolerate each other, if for Tam’s sake only. Linh can’t deal with having to share the one person she’d always thought would put her first (nevermind if he always would anyway); Rayni sees Linh’s hostility and automatically returns it with her own. As they get used to each other, they can be in a room without arguing or passive aggressively insulting each other.
Despite this, they’re actually very similar people, which makes them both even angrier. Linh can’t even make fun of how he acted with Keefe anymore now because of how she and Rayni act.
The reason Bronte is so mad at Fintan is that he found out that Fintan was dating JRR Tolkien at the same time as they were secretly dating (as to avoid being kicked out from the Council). Fintan was under the mistaken impression Bronte was also dating him, Bronte had misspoken and said he was ‘dating’ Tolkien instead of ‘rating’ Tolkien (as in, his books).
Fitz and Dex are in love, the Vackers are Desi, and Fintan has a flat ass. This is common knowledge though.

Just a thought about another sibling AU
Older Roksu and Younger Cale
Brown haired Roksu
Roksu loves Cale, truly, but he also flinch when he really see him after Jour's death
That's why he distants himself from Cale and not interact with him that much, if he has to than he will not really look at him
Cale, being an observant boy he is, know and also try to not bother his brother
It's hurt him but he endure
The plot:
Cale accidently made a deal with some God
The deal is to send him to another world and save it, he can go alone or bringing someone he want
He choose to bring Hans
(Honestly it's similar to my other AU with brown hair Roksu but with different plot)
The only thing send into another world are their souls
So their body is still in TBOAH world, basically they are in a coma
No matter what they do, no one able to wake Cale up
It happened when Cale's 12 years old
The world Cale and Hans being sent into is similar to Youjo Senki, where Cale need to face unordinary war
His soul was sent into a 5 years old body of some random girl while Hans was sent into a 12 years old body of random boy who actually the girl's (that Cale posseses) older brother
Their main objective in those world is to put an end on the war and organize the world after war before they can go back to their world
The God Cale accidently made a deal with promise to keep their body healthy despite in a slumber for long (but they will not grow, so when they are back they will look the same as they left no matter how many years passed)
To keep Cale's (and Hans') body safe, they place him in a secluded tower protected by Eruhaben magic
Since Cale in a come before the main timeline, Roksu's group never actually meet him (expect some like Eruhaben, Ron, Choi Han)
Cale join the army at the age of 7 and become know by the age of 9
By the age of 10 he already got a high rank among soldiers and feared by the enemies
He has a flight on sight order by the enemies but also one of those with high bounty
In all his hardship in the new world, Hans always by his side
If you see Cale, than Hans is there
Because of this, Cale become accustomed to war and the way of thinking in the midst of war
He had a sharp mind by nature, and because of this war his mind became sharper and more critical
Cale also made his heart as hard as stone in this battlefield because mercy would only kill him slowly (thing he learned at the start of the war)
He became a commander who was respected and feared even among his warriors
Every strategy he thought of had terrifying accuracy and effectiveness
Years goes by and now he is in his early twenty
He feels like the war is almost at its end
In a globally big scale war that worse than before, he finally put an end on it
The war is declared ended when he is the age of 23
Of course the aftermarth is like another war with different field
It need another years to actually settled everything into something managable
By the age of 29, this world can be said to be more into peaceful side
It seems like the God also think that it's enough, so they send Cale and Hans back into their world by having them getting caught in a terrorist act
(PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IN THIS WORLD CALE IS IN A BODY OF A GIRL)
When Cale is back to his original body, 15 years already passed
So he supposed to be in his 27 but appareance wise he still 12
Cale wake up in unfamiliar bedroom and unfamiliar surrounding
The God keep his promise because Cale can move fluidly even though his body had not been moved in years
Hans also in the tower but different room
They look around the place and outside through the windows
(Just imagine Rapunzel's tower)
His body feels lighter than ever, it turned out that the mysterious God was feeling kind because he was getting Cale's body used to his experiences while in the other world
He can also sense and see the mana around him clearly
This allows him to control mana very easily and allows him to wielding magic
Somehow he also tuned with spirits
Lets say that for those who doesn't know better, they will think that Cale is a superior race such as a whale or dragon
Waiting for three days to gather enough information, they decided to left the tower
They hide their identity and collecting information as they journey
Cale contemplate whether he need to go back to Henituse or not
Hans suggest that they wait for a bit before deciding
(Since it's older Roksu, that's mean Roksu is in his thirty here)
World Tree want to talk to him and inform him through the spirit
Cale went into them and the spirits welcome him enthusiastically which make the elves belwildered
From there, a rumor of a red haired kid who is loved by the spirits and nature itself spread
It's not long before it reach Roksu
Upon hearing this, he went to check on Cale and found him gone
He then went on a hunt for his younger brother but Cale always manage to slip pass him
Their reunioun is not something grand and not in front of many eyes
It's only the two of them, at Jour's grave
After months of searching, Roksu finally caught a glimpse of Cale
They locked eyes, Roksu stare impassively (but you can see longing in his eyes and how he seems like having so much questions) while Cale look at him with small smile
"Hi, hyung. Long time no see. Wow, you look way older than the last time I see you."
Cale said lightly as if they had not seen each other for just a few days
"And you look the same as last time I see you."
Roksu doesn't understand how Cale is not aging
They talk some more, a light talk without actually talking about the elephant in the room
That's how Roksu come back to the Henituse duchy, with additional people
Cale follow Roksu leasurely while Roksu make sure that Cale always in his line of sight
/END/
lol, idk what to add anymore ⭐️

Family dynamics for my silly humanstuck au
Because having every family consist of two siblings and one parental figure felt really forced. All lussi are humanized.
Megido: Damara is the Handmaid's daughter, and Aradia is Ram Mom's daughter. The Handmaid is trapped in the clown cult and playes basically the same role she does in the comic. She gave Damara to Ram Mom because her position in the cult prohibits her from having kids at all and keeping her around was putting both her and her kid in danger. They were both raised by Ram Mom and told they were siblings, but Damara knows that's a lie because she was there for the cult stuff and Aradia knows because she has any level of observation skills.
Nitram: Nitram is in quotation marks because they are in no way related. Rufioh is a kid in the same neighborhood as Tavros who hangs out at the same places and shares a lot of interests and helps Tavros with his school work and personal issues. Their relationship is sibling like enough in nature that they just refer to each other as their older/younger brother when referring to them in conversation. Summoner is Tav's dad, Tinkerbull is Rufioh's dad who considers Tavros honorary family.
Captor: Captor is also in quotation marks bc they're not related either. The biclopse lussus has been split into two people for this au and Sollux and Mituna are honorary family by virtue of their dads hanging out a lot. Mituna calls Sollux his cousin for convenience. Sollux explains the situation once to new people and from there on refers to him with an extensive inventory of mean spirited nicknames.
Vantas: They actually are related so uhh here's a fun fact that is fun. The Signless (grandpa in this dynamic) was a pastor (and also the Dolorosa's adopted kid btw. This gives the Mariyams and the Vantases a really weird relationship) and bc of that Crabdad is super aggressively religious. Kankri will tell you he's Christian because "he believes in the message not the literal interpretation" and then explain to you why organized religion is evil in the same breath. Karkat is 100% atheist and pissed that it's even a thing he has to think about on a daily basis.
Leijon: They're also just regular ol siblings. Meulin has cut off contact with everyone but Nepeta and doesn't get invited to family stuff though, she had a really big falling out with everyone over her involvement with the clown cult. Nepeta was too young to get the full details of that and doesn't really care enough to ask questions. They talk daily and have a good cool relationship.
Mariyam: The Dolorosa adopted Grub Mom way late into her life which is why Porrim and Kanaya are the same ages as Kankri and Karkat. Kanaya and Porrim are both test tube babies. They actually have a healthy functional family dynamic so idk what else to say.
Pyrope: Once again not related. Don't even live close enough to physically meet up. They met online through epic gaming and Latula became kind of a sister figure for Terezi after they bonded over the shared experience of needing to raise yourself because your parents didn't. (Terezi's dragon mom is alive and loving and she gives the best advice ever but she's also too bedriddenly sick to do much actual work. And I'm thinking Latula grew up in foster care maybe.)
Serket: They're cousins who don't talk much but keep up with each other on social media and look up to each other in the way where they both go "wow she's so cool!!" online and then when they actually meet up they realize they annoy the hell out of each other. Vriska has Spider Mom (who is probably less murdery but still abusive) and Aranea has Mindfang (who is pretty absent and may or may not be deep in some really sketchy shit. Vriska and Aranea both idolize her way too much.)
Zahhak: I don't remember why I came to this decision so it may be subject to change, but I remember thinking it was clever as fuck when I did. They're blood related siblings, but they're both adopted. Into different households. They found out about each other because they went to the same school district all their lives and Equius's teachers kept being like "Equius Zahhak??? Is Horuss your brother" and after years of being like "Whomst" he eventually looked him up and realized that yeah I guess he is my brother actually. Equius stopped talking to him or mentioning him to anyone after like 3 Facebook messages but Horuss tells literally everyone he knows about it as if they actually has a sibling bond. Also the plotline of him deciding to get closer to Meulin because he saw what Eq and Nep have and went "I want that" remains the same.
Makara: I don't know (or really care honestly) if they're biological siblings or not but it really doesn't matter. Their dad fucked off out of their life when they were really little and Lord English indoctrinated them into the cult by giving them a home and family in it. (He did this solely because he was old and gonna die soon and he needed at least one trusted and devote member to raise his kid in accordance to the cult rules by the way.) Gamzee and Kurloz consider the Cult of the Messiahs their family and they live together with Calliope and Caliborn. They consider the two of them brothers and they have a secret cult dlc relationship to the Cals.
Ampora: Normal siblings so ummmmmmmm. Seahorse Dad is a rich and successful guy with a Reputation. He tried to raise Cronus super strictly but he chipped away at his willpower fast, so now Cronus is the most reckless entitled adult ever and Eridan gets everything he wants handed to him on a silver platter. Fun!
Peixes: They are siblings but they don't have a familial bond because their mom never treated the household like a family. Gl'bgolyb is also a rich successful girlboss (I mean like she inherited all of Condy's stuff and then didn't expand upon it or go out of her way to achieve anything more, but she still manages all of Condy's stuff, which is a lot of stuff.) She tried to raise Meenah to be the perfect heir but she was not down for that so all it accomplished was giving her the skills to more successfully do the opposite of whatever Gl'bgolyb wanted. As a result Meenah is kind of seen as a family disgrace. While she was trying to raise Meenah Feferi got shoved to the side as the Other Kid and was treated less like a daughter and more like a freeloader (which her constant insistence that the company's business practices were flawed did not help). But now Gl'bgolyb has no one to leave her company to except two kids she views as disappointments (She has her eye on her niece Jane though). Feferi and Meenah have started to bond a little bit (like a microscopic bit) over this, but Meenah still needs to unlearn the "you are competing against your sister for the company and if you trust her she will ruin you" mentality that Gl'bgolyb instilled into her. Also sidenote Condy's dynamic with all the humans she adopted is exactly the same as it is in canon, down to her marrying Colonel Sanders. Also the clown cult has serious beef with CrockerCorp.
Cals: As previously mentioned, Lord English (leader of the clown cult and considered to be god by his followers) is their dad and he left them with the Makaras. Calliope doesn't want anything to do with the cult but loves Gamzee and Kurloz as family nonetheless. Caliborn is her headmate and considered by the cult to be Lord English reincarnated, and boy howdy he sure is Caliborn.

Where and What Exactly Is Cloud Nine?
Hello, my name is Ellie. I'm a psychic whose methods of divination mainly involve a pendulum and printable ABC chart. The information I present in my posts that aren't readily available through physical means such as scholarly texts, books, etc. I obtain through divination in order to elaborate more on my personal observations, beliefs, experiences, etc. In this particular post, I am going to share with you what Cloud Nine really is, where it really is, and also touch on what it is believed to be (and how people use the phrase Cloud Nine).
Cloud Nine in Popular Culture and History of the Phrase "On Cloud Nine"
Cloud Nine is an expression used to describe someone who is in a state of joy or elation. The origins of the expression "on cloud nine" go back to Sir Ralph Abercromby, a Victorian era aristocrat who became fascinated with meteorology when he was in the British army where he served from 1860 to 1869 and was stationed in Quebec, Canada. He is known for his contributions to meteorology, particularly for writing on the nomenclature of clouds in 1896, which starts from cloud 0 to cloud 9. Interestingly enough, type 9 (cumulonimbus clouds) are referred to as "the kings of all clouds" because they rise higher in the sky than any other type of cloud and also are the largest type of cloud that are created. Some earlier phrases stated Cloud Seven is a state of perfect happiness similar to being on Seventh Heaven, as opposed to Cloud Nine.
Tumblr media
Cloud Nine... a Psychic Survival Game?
In the last paragraph, I touched onto the worldwide view of the meaning of "being on cloud nine" and its origins. Based on what was described in the last paragraph, you would believe based on reading the head title for this paragraph that Cloud Nine is heaven or is some other kind of paradise. Unfortunately, this actually could not be further from the truth... if you're a target for those who use Cloud Nine.
I learned a little bit about where and what Cloud Seven, Cloud Eight, and Cloud Nine are when it comes to the Astral Planes (and no it's NOT heaven). When I was younger, my siblings and I would travel out of state every so often to go visit relatives. When we'd visit some of my cousins on my dad's side, sometimes one of them would play a "game" with us she called Cloud Nine. Essentially, the person who would "enter" Cloud Seven, Eight or Nine would lay down on their back. My cousin would then make them count backwards from 20 or so until they could "see" themselves in this place. To summarize, the person who is in this place would have to basically fight their way out of this place in order to survive. Cloud Seven was said to be the easiest level and Cloud Nine the hardest.
Some of us did not believe the players or my cousin who put the players under hypnosis that anything was actually happening, so elected to not partake in this game. I myself was one of those skeptical people. However, the last time this game was played by my older brother, which was close to 20 or so years ago, made me change my mind on this. While my brother was playing he was talking about being in the dark and hearing people come at him with what sounds like swords. Something told me to touch his hand and close my eyes. I was surprised (and horrified) that when I closed my eyes I was able to see and hear the same things he was.
I found myself "calling for help" mentally, and then a woman came in the room who the others in the room called "Aliyana Akrina". Not much longer later, my brother "woke up". However, I opened my eyes a little after he did. Before I opened my eyes and after he woke up, I saw a toddler being chased by a double horned monster with red eyes and a good bit of body hair that came out of a random closet with what looked like 2 white louvered doors with some dirty hand prints on it.
When I woke up, I noticed my siblings and cousins looking at me weirdly. The image below is very similar to what the monster looked like (which happens to be artwork depicting a deity who was said to be an ancient Canaanite pagan god of child sacrifice named Moloch). Some variations of this Canaanite deity's name include Molech, Molekh, Molok, Molek, Molock, etc. Their name is actually spelt Malik, and no they aren't into child sacrifice or anything related to such. who is the monster but is instead a demon named Civlon Moloch. This particular demon who is a particularly bloodthirsty fiend has posed as multiple deities including Malik, Baal, and others.

Aftermath of The Last Round of Playing Cloud Nine
This was afterall just a game that happens to be all imaginary and in the head, right? It turns out this belief was completely wrong. It turns out that I summoned my most dominant higher self Hela (I have several higher selves that make up the essence of my soul, which is another topic), whose full name is Hela Aliyana Akrina and is the "head deity of the astral planes". When I asked her what happened that day, she told me about a month ago that I summoned her when I was asking for help. She did tell me that I actually angered my cousin's demon (aka lower self) along with all other surviving demons gathered in Cloud Nine together by summoning Hela to rescue my brother. By the way, the astral body can be killed. If your astral body is killed you die physically. The death of astral bodies (where people's souls aka conscience goes after death of the physical body) is why people with say no history of heart disease will suddenly die of a heart attack, people who don't smoke and generally few or no risk factors develop lung cancer and die, etc. In other words... yes, the soul CAN die along with your astral body.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, looking back I realized that Cloud Nine is not just an imaginary place, or a game requiring a wild imagination or capability of being put in a state of hypnosis. This last game of Cloud Nine took place in the summer before my twin sister and I were about to start 5th grade and brother 7th grade. Some weird and also bad things started to happen in my and my family member's lives.
Brother's Bone Tumor and Surgery
My brother developed an osteochondroma, which is essentially a type of benign bone tumor that commonly shows up in adolescence. I remember getting into an argument with my brother and punched his arm where this osteochondroma was located. No one knew he had one but when I punched him on the arm, this tumor was broken. He ended up needing to get surgery to remove it. Hela told me recently that this particular osteochondroma was going to eventually become an osteosarcoma, which is a malignant bone tumor and that "you heard me tell you to strike your brother's arm really hard in this exact spot to save his life".
Bathroom Wall Graffiti, Emotional Meltdowns
Several months after this, a now former friend of his decided to suddenly spray paint on the bathroom walls a very cruel thing about my brother. He felt very humiliated by this graffiti in the bathroom and naturally was very upset at this horrific sight. About a year and a half later during school (I was in 6th grade, brother in 8th), I had what I call a random meltdown. I'm not sure what triggered this meltdown or why I had it but the teacher ended up having someone go get my older brother "to calm me down". Somehow, I was NOT made fun of by any classmates of mine and wasn't bullied by anyone despite the fact word got around fast. It is middle school we are talking about afterall, you know how them kids like to gossip.
Peeping Tom, Locker Break-ins, Attempted House Break-in Homecoming Night
In my 7th grade year, boy what an interesting year and not for the better. My family and I moved during the late fall-winter time to a not so great area near our school district's high school while my parents were having a house being built. This school year my best friend at the time told me she found my locker wide open at one point with some of my stuff thrown down the hallway and chose to pick it up and put it all back in.
At one point, I started to get some strange phone calls from someone claiming they are a secret admirer of mine. They admitted during one of the two calls they had watched me get dressed before and said some other bizarre stuff. My brother overheard the second and last phone conversation, picked up another landline phone and cussed this guy out. After this guy admitted he watched me get dressed, I elected to remember to shut the blinds when I am getting dressed. Oh the not so real joys of being naïve in youth and learning things the hard way...
When I was in 8th grade and still living in this house, I felt a strong urge to stay home on the night of the high school Homecoming game. My parents tried to convince me to leave the house to "go to the game and socialize" but I felt an overwhelming urge to stay put and insisted I stay home. My parents went out somewhere to a house get together or a date, can't remember while my siblings went to the Homecoming game. At one point when I was home with the dog, we both heard scratching on the aluminum siding. First thing I wondered was if someone was pretending to be Freddy Kreuger playing a prank.
Eventually, I saw someone with a face mask, toboggan, coat, and what looked like an axe start running towards the window but decided against it when they saw me looking right at them. Follow your gut instincts, I promise they will NOT serve you wrong! I don't remember the rest of this year being much more eventful beyond this. Several months after the Homecoming game the house was finished being built and the weird, bad events stopped happening left and right.
Where Cloud Nine REALLY is (Hint: It's NOT Heaven)
A couple summers on 6/24/2021 I asked what the significance of Helheim and Hell having similar names is and what the difference between them is. The deity Hermes answered when I picked up my pendulum while asking this question: "Really, they are one and the same. Seers see about a mile away from Lucifer's castle an even bigger castle where Hela resides, where she remains a hands off boss. Lucifer, Abbadon, Belial and company are a group of dark faye that work for the Greek and Nordic pantheon". It turns out Earth as a whole is Helheim, which is a whole other topic in itself but this sure does explain the whole "this life is a living hell" phrase, doesn't it?
It turns out that Cloud Nine aka Gehanna (or Gehanna's torture chamber if you will) is located in a room "in the pits of Lucifer's Castle in Hell" that actually needs to be cleared out of these "cowardly demons". In this room is a computer with some access to Divine Blueprints aka Akashic Records. What these cowardly demons and their incarnations do is they put bad things in the Divine Blueprints of good souls to try benefitting their own incarnations. Magic originates in the astral planes; it is Divine Blueprints that also contain "instructions" on making it so certain things happen (or not in the case of tampers made by those in Cloud Nine). Magic simply is the enforcing agent in fulfilling Divine Blueprints that ultimately going back to the Divine Plan.
Tumblr media
Ultimately, all these cowards are really doing is delaying the unpleasant "milestone events" (ex. car accidents and other traumatic events, divorces/breakups, losing a job, homelessness, etc.) in their evil incarnations' Divine Plans, and making the more pleasant milestone events occur sooner (ex. becoming wealthier, marriage, job promotion, etc.). Making many good things happen at once does eventually lead to many bad things happening all at once. When it rains, it pours.
I talked about aether incarnations in another post of mine regarding how incarnations work. Demons are actually bloodthirsty monstrous cyborgs created in the astral planes of Earth. This explains why demons are consistently described as being physically stronger than people, are more resilience to pain, tend to be rather indifferent emotionally and seem to only feel anger when they do feel some kind of emotion, move differently than physical beings do, are aggressive, etc.
Surprisingly so, there are actually many demons who are genuinely working to get redemption, which in the spiritual world means they gain a higher self and their conscience goes to an immortal body after their time on Earth is done. Deities and other benevolent beings actually call these demons "bold/brave demons". Not so surprisingly so, others are unable to rise above being selfish, greedy, cruel, etc. as they are "programmed" to do so. Of course, they all want to survive but keep delaying their "judgment day" so they can keep on their evil ways but "I'll eventually get around to doing the right thing", as if all of their "sins" will be forgiven. Deities and other benevolent beings call these particularly evil, selfish demons "cowardly demons".
Invisible Stairs or Ladders and Stairs or Ladders Leading to Nowhere
This is a very important thing to take away from this post of mine. There are some stairs that lead to nowhere with no other structures around them. Some call this an urban legend, with people suggesting it goes back to a Reddit user with the screenname searchandrescuewood who wrote a series of stories or reports regarding these said stairs in the woods possibly just for entertainment purposes. However, many have commented sharing their own experiences with this phenomenon of stairs leading to nowhere. There are some stairs that are remains of former buildings and houses that once remained, others built independent of a building.
Tumblr media
Sometimes these stairs and ladders are reported to appear, disappear, and reappear in the same spot (or more eerily so, in different spots). What is consistent with many of these reports is that they all sit in areas with very open energy. Some reports of people who stated they climbed one of these ladders or stairs leading to nowhere state a variety of bizarre things that happened after they climbed them. One man in the Philippines reportedly climbed a ladder and states he felt he was gone for 5 minutes, but apparently turned out he was gone for 5 years. Others state that people have died suddenly from a stroke or other bad things happening after climbing one of these said ladders or stairs.
When it comes to invisible stairs in dreams, I was told by my guides to avoid them at all costs because they lead to Cloud Nine. I learned that if someone finds themselves on invisible stairs they need to get off as soon as possible. It's imperative they make sure to get off these invisible stairs and ladders before they get on the 9th step.
Follow your gut instincts, I promise they will not misguide you even if it turns out to be a false alarm!

National Ellis Island Family History Day
Each year on April 17th, National Ellis  Island Family History Day encourages families to explore their ancestry  and discover family who immigrated through Ellis Island.
From 1892 to 1924, Ellis Island served  as the busiest inspection station for millions of immigrants to the  United States. On this day in 1907, officials recorded 11,747 names  passing through Ellis Island. It was the busiest day of immigration in  the station’s history. During all of 1907, officials processed over one  million immigrants through Ellis Island.
During its operation, approximately 12  million immigrants passed through the halls of Ellis Island. It operated  from 1892 to 1954. Before Ellis Island, immigrants entered the United  States in New York City at Castle Garden. Just months before Ellis  Island’s opening, the old depot was demolished and ushered in a new era  of immigration. The Statue of Liberty overlooks Ellis Island and was one  of the first sights the nearly 2,000 immigrants a day would see as they  disembarked.
The new facilities offered an  improvement over the Castle Garden. The large, open, and airy facility  presented an overwhelming obstacle to some, though. Thousands of people  from many cultures and speaking different languages gathered in one  place. After such a long journey,  the arrival at Ellis Island must have been stressful and confusing. What  an overwhelming and exciting experience for them all! For some, they  entered Ellis Island as a step toward their future. Officials turned  others away for a variety of reasons.
HOW TO OBSERVE
Do you have a family member who  immigrated through Ellis Island? Explore your ancestry and follow your  ancestors’ footsteps. Discover the history behind your family’s name or  learn about their experiences as they traveled to a new land. Many  documents reveal glimpses into their lives and their reasons for  immigrating.
Through its website, ellisisland.org, you  explore the histories of famous immigrants. You can also search  passenger lists and follow the clues to your family’s past. While you  research, take a virtual tour or learn genealogy basics. Learn about  these 7 Notable Ellis Island Immigrants and as you celebrate your day, be sure to share your experience, too.
NATIONAL ELLIS ISLAND FAMILY HISTORY DAY HISTORY
On April 17, 2001, National Ellis  Island Family History Day commemorated the busiest inspection station in  the United States by launching digital access to its records. This  project placed Ellis Island documents at the descendents’ fingertips for  the first time. Millions of families could finally retrace their  ancestors’ footsteps in a way they had never been able to do before.  Governors across the United States officially declared the observance to  be celebrated on April 17th, annually.
Ellis Island FAQ

Can you do headcanon(s) if the Archivists and Collector have parents? What are they like, do they have a favourite child, their titles, etc.
Tumblr media
Hopefully, I understood what you meant correctly.
The collector will be using he/him in this to avoid any confusion when I refer to the archivists, who will be using they/them because I believe (in my headcanons) that there species have no gender in general but some prefer to use pronous to best describe what they look like or feel like, and some just use the title they were given if they were lucky enough to be given one
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I tend to think that the collectors' species are created from interstellar events, then actual intercourse or asexual reproduction
So, quite frankly, I do not believe that the archivists and the collector would have any actual relatives, including eachother, but there is a possibility that they were raised by a separate group of there species, or a singular one older then them at the time, in which teaching them the basic knowledge they should obtain before going off on there own
In my headcanon, I believe that when a new organism is created, it's basically adoption in some way. Some of the species will choose to ignore the younger and newer and some thrive to take in and teach the young the ways of there species
Think of it as pods or groups. There is one group in a sertent area, then another nebouring in another separate area. Some areas are sometimes so big that the groups might not even notice eachothers presences, and even if the groups did, I believe that their species isn't all that territorial
But I do believe that many of their species is outcasted or sent away if there a bad apple
This brings me to believe that the archivists were taken in by a separate eldest of their species in the cosmos or created when it comes to the collector and the observer.
In a group, in my headcanon, the eldest of them would generally call the shots since they have the most experience and are usually the wisest of the groups, much like a "parent" of some sort. Then there are the "siblings," in which for their group were the archivists and the collector
The eldest would have to care about them enough to take them in, which was not common but isn't rare as well for the elders of the species to do, being alone in the cosmos for so long is lonely even for there long life span and adaptability to it
Generally, the eldest of a group would take care of the "siblings" for a surtent amount of time before the siblings would either split up and go separate ways from the eldest, stick together and go separate ways or rarly stick with the eldest
The "siblings" who separate from each other and the eldest to leave to create their own groups in the cosmos then repeat the process, now becoming the eldest of their group, and for the "siblings" that stick together and depart from the eldest to make there own group, then also repeat the process, but in this case which ever is the older of the bunch of "siblings" would become the eldest of the group
Because of the observer and the operators' bad behavior, the two were written off as bad sprouts and sent away. The journalist was generally sweet with the collector while the eldest was more distant but still was around. The journalist and asrar went with the other two "siblings" because they didn't want to separate. The collector had a hard time choosing who to go with once he was given the choice, in which because of the journalists caring for him more openly, he had chosen the archivists over the eldest. The eldest, of course, wasn't pleased and did try to keep the collector but ultimately let him go. Big mistake
The eldest DID favor the collector over the other. It was refreshing to have such a lively and playful child around that did not want to harm anyone, unlike the observer and the operator (and sometimes asrar) . The second favorite would have to be the journalist, they were the sympathetic and a caring one of the group who was only following orders from ......
After leaving the eldest, things were good for a while until the archivists became too strong, strong enough to be given names. since the species don't have names (though in their groups they could be given nicknames), it was a sign of power. But the power got to the observer and operators heads quick, to quick
The collector was given his name by default since he was part of the archivists group, but the archivists were the ones who earned the title, that two of them now use for worse
Titles are only given to specific groups of overpowers individuals, in this case, being given a title is extremely rare, especially for the younger of the species
Before they departed from the eldest, the eldest did have a title because of their power and just how much experience they had over most of their species
The eldest original name was infact the collector
And when our previous collector departed with his siblings from their eldest, he had become a home sick but did not want to part away fron the journalist and asrar. in memory of the eldest, he took there name as his own as reminder for what all the eldest had done for him

Reminder this is my headcanon that is unfinished

okay had a dream. first part was awful. second part was aziphrale from GOmens getting manipulated by someone, and me trying so hard to stop it. now third part was actually kinda fun. there was a kid, older than 14. they looked a lot like Adam, the kid one, from GOmens. they were trans, I didnt catch their pronouns though. only thing I knew was that he/him was wrong. so another kid comes, who looks a lot like Nevel from iCarly. he's transphobic, keeps misgendering the other kid. also he keeps calling them Tom, which is weird because I don't think it even was their deadname or anything. like he just came up with a "boy name" and started using it for the kid. also funny thing, anytime he misgenders them, the "camera" snaps to the Adam looking kid and we hear a dramatic vine boom. so they're like "how dare you insult 14 year old me so". not sure what that means exactly, but basically Adam looking kid categorised the transphobia as being against their past self, and not the current self. basically they act like their past self is their younger sibling, and get protective over them. so Adam ass kid goes over to Nevel ass kid, and makes him experience his whole life, past and future, in like 2 seconds. cuz the resemblance to Adam includes the powers. but so Nevel falls below the table he was sitting at. then he slowly rises, wearing a suit that was not there before. he doesn't look that shaken by what he just experienced, and in fact, he's smiling. he looks Adam in the eyes and says all smugly "You acted like a boy", referring to the future Adam he just saw. and like ive been present, kinda just observing, but at that comment i burst into laughter. his smugness while saying the dumbest line ever was just so funny to me, like what the fuck does "acting like a boy" even include my guy. then me and Adam just completely ignore Nevel and start coming up with different characters and scenarios for those characters where they would sound different, and then we attempt to make an impression of their different sounding voice. we're laughing the whole time, its fun. i make a Fluttershy impression. some third kid makes a "Starlight Glimmer if she was dating Applejack" impression.

10 years | ksj
pairing: kim seokjin x oc (ft. brother!jimin)
genre: brother's best friend, angst, forgiveness?, teeny tiny fluff (it's barely there lol)
words: 7, 294
summary: 10 years change people but you still remember
Tumblr media
"Why are you freaking out?" Isabelle is attempting to get you to stay in one position, but it's fruitless when all you do is pace back and forth in the space of the changing rooms when you hear people barking orders from the outside.
"Why aren't you freaking out?" You exasperate.
Isabelle glares at you, nimble hands reaching to tighten the lace corset around your waist in one swift motion; turning your body to face her as she does her job of primping you up.
"You're being dramatic." She rolls her eyes.
You huff.
You loved Isabelle, probably because she's been working for your family for years and that she was the mother figure in your life that you never could have gotten from your own biological one—but also because she was the only person that knew her way around that thorny mind of yours.
"What would you do if you haven't seen someone in over ten years and the last memory you have with them is bitter?" You say in a hushed whisper.
Isabelle's eyes soften, hands reaching out to rest on your shoulders as your head droops, anxiety blooming in your chest even if you weren't the one getting married today.
"What can you do but say hello?" She says, "Time doesn't stop for anyone, _____."
You sigh, fiddling with your fingers when you hear the rustles of the curtains, causing both of your heads to turn towards the source of the noise.
"_____, your brother is asking for you." Lea, your brother's wedding planner, peeks her head through the curtains to call you.
Your heart betrays your seemingly calm stature as you begin to perspire, terrified of being face to face with the person that you should've been most excited to see.
"Time's up, ______. You can't run forever." Isabelle says, eyes solemn.
Tumblr media
"You'd think being an adult would mean you grow out of old habits ..." Jimin mutters, glaring at you when you finally make your appearance at the rehearsal dinner.
You stick your tongue out at him petulantly, unable to forget the fact that he was no longer the older brother that you hero-worshipped because he excelled in everything that he did, nor was he the kid that stole your figurines to spite you. He was a man, older and more mature—with a wedding to celebrate the beginning of a new life with his partner.
He looks nervous, you can tell because you know Jimin better than most—a position you begrudgingly gave up in replacement of his wife, Risa—so you offer him a squeeze of his shoulder, and a look to tell him that you were here, and he was okay.
Jimin accepts it with a small smile of gratitude, moving aside so you could take your seat on the VIP table where most of his important guests sat, meaning your parents, Risa's parents, the best man and the maid of honour.
From the moment you stepped foot into the hall, you spot the person that should have been unfamiliar to you, but all you can remember is what was the best years of your life that was taken away from you. It should've been hard to spot him through the pastels and people, but you've always had eyes for him—the foolish lens of a girl that didn't want to grow up.
Even as you seat at the table, mingling with your future sister-in-law, and the maid of honour, along with Risa's parents, you can't bring yourself to acknowledge him just yet, and he has yet to make it known that he acknowledges you too.
Perhaps it was the pettiness from both ends. The fact that neither of you wanted to step down just yet, the last known interaction between the both of you only causing your heart to constrict further. You wonder if he remembers you the way you have with him.
"______," Risa calls your name, leaning in to whisper into your ear as you snap your focus on her.
"Hey, sorry." You mumble, scratching your neck, "Was a little distracted."
Risa offers you an understanding smile and you're grateful to the heaven's above that Jimin managed to make a woman like her fall in love with him. It was a far better alternative and change from the demons he used to go for as a high schooler, and you fondly (but not really) remember fighting off crazy exes when your brother decided that they weren't his long-term.
"Is this about ..." You can tell Risa hesitates to say his name, knowing the matter was still a fresh wound for you even if you had a decade to heal.
You sigh, reaching for her hand to give it a squeeze, mustering a strong front so she wouldn't worry anymore.
"Don't worry about me. It's your special day." You remind her with a soft smile.
She scoffs.
"Not yet. This is to ensure nothing goes to shit and no one gets left at the altar on a real day." She mutters.
You giggle, and even Jimin picks up on his soon-to-be wife's comment and pinches her hip, giving her a glare that lacked any real malice. You observe the way Jimin leans into his fiancee's touch when she reaches for his hand, a gesture so simple but carried the weight of lovers that wholly trusted each other.
Sometimes you envied Jimin. Throughout your adolescent years, you were always pinned against him for reasons that you still cannot justify.
The two of you were fundamentally different in nature. Jimin was a quiet kid, but his actions were the ones that spoke for him instead. For what he couldn't say in words, he made up for through the results of his actions. As a younger sibling, watching Jimin excel in every activity that he sets his mind to make you worship him, wanting to be as talented and ambitious as he was.
If he did kendo, you'd sign up so you could carry on the legacy of his talent. When he ran for class president, so did you in your own grades. Everything was always stemmed around Jimin and what he did.
Even if he was quiet, he naturally took the lead in doing things. Where you were the polar opposite. A louder than life personality should have made you the proactive one, but deep down you were meek, timid and terrified of doing things out of your comfort zone.
It did hit a sore spot for you and Jimin's relationship when he grew up enough to no longer facilitate his baby sister's incessant whines and tugs to join him in his activities. You remember the day clearly when he told you that you were nothing but an extension of him.
When you look back, you can think of it as a fond memory of two teenagers that were horrible at speaking about their feelings, but you remember the hurt you felt; only wanting to be a part of Jimin's life when he wanted to be on his own.
It took a few years to repair the relationship that was fragile, to begin with, and it wasn't just the effort of you or Jimin, but—
"Hyung, do you need to run the video through IT to check if it's playable?"
You're brought back to the present when Jimin's voice breaks you out of your thoughts, and you instantly know who he's referring to.
The only person that he could comfortably refer to as 'hyung' was the only person that you have yet to greet, or acknowledge.
"I see what you're doing, Park. You're not seeing this video until the 13th."
The rest of the people at the table laugh at the banter between best friend's, but you remain uncharacteristically silent. No one picks up on it—or if they did, they know well enough not to point it out for the sake of maintaining normalcy at the table.
You listen attentively to the briefing run down by Lea, and you smile fondly at the fire that the young wedding planner carried in herself. She was meticulous, and you only had Risa to thank for managing to get the most dedicated wedding planner that you were sure was out there.
Eventually, you had to practice the walk-in from the runway, up until the altar behind where the bride and groom were to be situated. That meant you have shuffled around under Lea's commands, and that you caught more of his appearance than you would have liked.
Of course, he grew up beautifully. He had always been exceptionally good-looking even from when you were in high school up to your early college years. The birth lottery definitely favoured some people, and he was on the top of the list.
But he no longer had the same youthful charm that he did when you last saw him at 23. He looked rougher around the edges, lines on his face that come with time and experience, the stroke of a paintbrush that you weren't there to witness. Age did him well—and you couldn't deny the fact that as he grew, he also grew more attractive. The assuredness that comes with age, and the physique that you can only appreciate from afar.
The suit he's wearing is ever so flattering on his broad shoulders. He followed the theme well, a black blazer, with a deep-maroon sash draped over his shoulders. You applaud the designer that had done the fitting for him because it looked perfect, quite literally like it was made for him.
You feel mediocre immediately. The dress you were wearing was stunning—in the most objective sense—and you had a matching coloured sash that was draped around your hips instead, the corset accentuating your figure. But you were still far from comparison from him. You always have been.
"_____, could you please stand next to Jin?" Lea's voice calls out an order from the front of the altar, waving her notebook at you to step aside.
Your eyes widen as you feel the blood in your face drain, hearing your new position for the photo session.
You don't want to throw anyone off, or make Jimin's special day about you—so you suck it up, take a deep breath and shuffle into position next to Jin.
His presence is overwhelming. It's like he's there but he isn't. He doesn't feel like he's there, probably because of how long the two of you haven't spoken to each other, basically strangers. You don't acknowledge him even when your shoulder accidentally brushes against his arm, and you definitely don't acknowledge him when Lea smiles at the two of you and says perfect.
You see Risa's concerned stare on the two of you, but you give her a tight smile and mouth to her to focus on what Lea's saying instead. She narrows her eyes at you but finally relents when you nod your head to tell her that it was fine.
You were older. You weren't going to let some ... you didn't even know what to call it. But you weren't going to let the past make you feel uncomfortable when the future hasn't been told just yet.
"Jin—could you loosen up a little? It looks like you're constipated and your face isn't going to make up for that on camera," Lea deadpans, shooting a blunt comment straight at Jin.
He flushes beside you, but you don't look at him to know that because you hypothesised that he still has the same habit of his ear's turning red if all attention is on him.
"You and I know my face would've been the highlight of the picture if it weren't for the lovebirds." He quips back.
You can't find it in yourself to laugh yet when others do, but you look down at your feet to pretend like you were distracted.
Even his voice sounds more like himself. He had always been Jin, but it's like he grew out of the mould he forced himself into when you last saw him; a more relaxed yet determined version of the past that no longer exists.
"Jin!" Lea calls out.
"That seems to be your favourite word today ..." Jin mutters, which causes Jimin to snort at his best friend's antics.
Risa slaps your brother on his shoulder and narrows her eyes at him, and it's comical how fast she managed to get him to neutralise his expression.
"For a very good reason," Lea retorts, "Could you hold _____ by the waist? The space between the two of you looks too awkward."
If only she knew.
This was possibly the situation that you wanted to avoid the most, not even acknowledging him yourself, or his name to say hello—but he had to hold you close like you were something to him.
"Shouldn't he be holding the maid of honour—?" You helplessly try to reason, but the words get stuck in your throat when Lea glares at you.
For someone younger than you, and smaller than you in height too—she was terrified when she had to be.
"It's ... fine," Jin says after a beat of silence.
Then, his hand snakes around your waist so snug as he pulls you slightly closer to him that you almost lose your footing.
You gulp, unable to ignore the heat of his grasp or the way that it feels so natural as he rests his palm loosely on your hips, fingers drumming against the bone absentmindedly as Lea directs the photographer with angles that she best believe captures the moment.
When the photographer begins the countdown, you force a smile as genuine as you can, while Jin squeezes your hips as the shutter goes off.
Tumblr media
"You two looked comfy." Jimin slides into the seat next to you after the rehearsal, rubbing on his eye with a cotton pad to remove the makeup that was applied on him.
You scowl, swatting his hand away to berate him for causing wrinkles so early on as he huffs at your adamancy.
"Don't ignore me," He pokes your side as you sigh.
"Then don't overthink it, okay? It was for the picture." You grumble, eyes focused on the bits and bobs of makeup tools at the vanity inside the changing rooms.
You can feel Jimin's stare on you, as well as how hard he thinks. Call it a sibling intuition, but you knew exactly when he was overanalysing situations, and you felt that at this exact moment.
"You know you have to speak to him eventually, right?" Jimin says after a while.
You freeze, fingers pausing as you tap against the table. Your eyes meet Jimin's through the mirror and you know he's serious, his expression says it all. But he wasn't there when it happened, and he wasn't you to feel how it felt.
"I went for ten years without talking to him. Another ten won't be hard." You clip.
Jimin sighs, turning his body to face you as you keep your shoulders towards him. It feels very much like when you were younger when Jimin sat you down to lecture you about your behaviour, or reprimanding you for doing certain things to keep you safe.
But it's vastly different. You're twenty-eight now, and you no longer took Jimin's words as the word of God, and he knew that.
"I don't know what exactly what went down between the two of you but according to Jin—"
"And you don't need to. It's been ages, Jimin. I've moved on." You snap.
Jimin purses his lips, seeing the way you're beginning to draw up all your walls against him again. It makes his heart clench because there was a time where you would have told him everything, where you would have confided him when you were having troubles. But he knew he ruined that relationship himself, and even if it's been over a decade since that fight the two of you had, the scar of the experience would always be there to haunt you both.
He knew you didn't hold it against him anymore, but he also recognised the way you'd subtly pull away sometimes, the reason why you never visited as often as you said you would in your infrequent phone calls.
"I'm just ..." He mumbles, looking at you earnestly but you don't return the stare, "I'm worried, ______."
You scoff.
"You don't need to. I won't cause a scene at your wedding, okay? I—I'm not like that ..." You start off strong, but finish in a soft whisper.
Jimin's eyes soften when he reaches a hand to rest against your shoulder.
"That's not what I meant." He sighs.
"Whatever it is that you meant just ... forget it, okay? I'm a grown-up now. I'm not your baby sister anymore." You tell him.
He flinches at the bluntness of your words but knows that you don't mean any harm to them. It was the truth that he had a hard time accepting, especially when he could've been there for you more during the years of university and the beginning of your work-life.
"I ..." Jimin trails off.
You sigh, turning around to finally face him.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that," You wince, "It's just that ... you don't need to worry about my battles anymore, Jimin. I've learnt how to deal with them on my own and you have your own set of things to worry about. I'll always be your sister, and nothing will change that—but I'm just not the same, impressionable girl I was a decade ago."
Jimin bites his lip as he mulls over your words, a fact hard for him to accept but nevertheless, he must. He always had the tendency to be overprotective and possessive, whether it be of his relationships, activities or belongings—it was an ugly trait that got the best of him from time to time.
He knew deep down, that he played a part in why you and Jin are so sour with each other, and he can't easily get rid of that guilt.
"I know, I know," He exhales, "If that's the case then ..."
You raise an eyebrow, willing him to continue.
"Then?"
"Don't let me be the reason why you can't fight your battles," He tells you softly.
Your expression remains stoic, but you internally agree with what he says. You'd never blame Jimin, and you knew it was irrational to do so—but the ugly feeling of needing someone to blame that wasn't yourself or Jin was dominant in your conscious.
"I promise." You smile at him extending your pinky finger out, and he grins at the old ritual the two of you would do as kids.
"Good." He ruffles your hair, and you glare at him when he messes up your up-do that Isabelle spent a long time on.
"Dude!" You whine, but he snickers at your reaction.
"Ah, can't believe that I'm getting married in a week." He adds as he stares at the ceiling.
You smile to yourself and nod your head in agreement.
"Remember when you told me you were going to marry Hana?" You snort.
He grimaces, the memories of his college self resurfacing at the reminder of his ex-girlfriend's name.
"Thank God you snapped me out of it," He whistles lowly, "She was fucking insane."
You chuckle at that because Jimin sure had a type, and it was the insane girls with daddy issues. Even Risa was a little crazy but she had a good heart to make up for it.
"It seems to be a trend with you." You shrug your shoulders.
He narrows his eyes at you and flicks you on the forehead before he glances down at his watch to curse under his breath.
"Fuck. I have a meeting at the office," He groans.
Your lips tilt upwards at his distraught as you pat him on the shoulder, gesturing him to leave.
"Don't worry. I'll find my way home."
"Are you sure—"
"Yes, Jimin—I'm sure. Now leave before they find a new CEO." You quip teasingly.
He thanks you, and presses a kiss onto your forehead before he scampers off, grabbing at his coat before he's out the door.
Once he's out of the room, you sigh to yourself; suddenly oddly nostalgic at your childhood, up to teenage memories as you and Jimin were speaking about it.
You purse your lips, unable to get Jin out of your head even when you look back to all the fun times you had as a teenager because he's always been there ... until he wasn't.
You wince, remembering the day it happened so clearly.
Tumblr media
The smell of burnt something pricks the air and you only have yourself to blame.
You curse when you see clouds of black smoke escaping the small vents of your oven, the shady proof of how horrible you were at baking even if it was for a cause that resonated deeply in your heart.
You were thankful that your mom wasn’t home to witness your blunder because she surely would have yapped your ear off for trusting your clumsy self in the kitchen, let alone baking a recipe that was far out of your skill range.
“Why does it smell like—_____, really?” Jimin’s voice enters your thoughts as he ascends down the stairs of your home to spot you hastily fanning the smoke away with your mittens.
“Can you shut up and help me?” You hiss.
He laughs, loud and clear as he clutches his stomach to control his body.
“Dude—why?” He wheezes.
You chuck one of the mittens at him when he finally enters the kitchen, body moving at its own accord to get the trash bin along with the mitten that you threw at him while he pushes your body aside.
“Jin’s leaving tomorrow so I thought I would make some of his favourite shortbreads …” You mutter.
Jimin gracefully plucks out the burnt batch of shortbread and chucks it into the waste bin as you pout at your efforts being thrown away.
“And you didn’t bother asking for help when you know he gets his shortbread’s from a bakery?” He deadpans.
You roll your eyes and wipe your hands on your apron as you sigh.
“Look—I wasn’t thinking and now I don’t have anything to give him before he leaves!” You pout.
Jimin eyes you suspiciously and raises an eyebrow as he leans against the counter to observe your sullen expression.
“So? It’s not like he’d care.”
You glare at him.
“Well—I care.” You retort.
Jimin is silent for a moment before his eyes widen, his body inching closer to yours as if he found out something that he needed to tell you.
“Do you … do you like Jin?” Jimin gasps.
Your eyes widen, cheeks reddening simultaneously as you quickly shake your head to deny the fact—even though your heart and face betray you.
“W-What?” You squeak, “Of course not! It’s just a nice gesture to send him off.”
Jimin scoffs and narrows his eyes at you accusingly.
“Then why did you go out of your way to bake him something he likes when you know you’re hopeless in the kitchen?”
You roll your eyes, hoping your nonchalance plays off well enough to distract Jimin from the way your handshakes at the prospect of being caught.
“He’s my friend, Jimin. I do nice things for my friends sometimes.”
Jimin looks like he doesn’t believe you, and you wish that for one moment he wouldn’t use his brain to overthink your words or the sibling telepathy he claims to have to unravel your heart’s true intentions.
“He’s my best friend. Aren’t I supposed to be the one doing all of …” He gestures to the mess of the kitchen you left it in, “… this?”
“Well you don’t own him and you definitely don’t pick who Jin’s friends with. So fuck off will you?” You snap.
Jimin narrows his eyes at you.
“He’s five years older than you.” He reminds you slowly.
You sigh, busying yourself with cleaning up the kitchen counter.
“And? You’re two years older than me but you don’t see me condemning our sibling-ship.” You retort.
“That’s not what I meant,” He groans, “He doesn’t need a kid having a crush on him, okay? He’s off to university.”
The way Jimin uses the word ‘kid’ doesn’t sit well with you, as if to tell you that you were inferior to him and Jin because you were younger than him. But you weren’t far off, and heck, you’d argue that you were far more mature than your brother or any of his friends.
“I’m graduating high school this year.” You sneer.
“And Jin is off to university!” He exasperates.
“I don’t know what your problem is because I—don’t—have—a—crush—on—him!” You emphasise with a shove of your finger to his chest with every word.
“You better not because that’ll be weird. I don’t need my sister crushing on my best friend.” He scrunches his nose when he says that.
The drop of your heart is inevitable, but you’ve long decided that you don’t live your life to please Jimin anymore, and what you wanted what was what mattered.
“Yeah, yeah,” You wave him off, chucking the last bit of your dishes into the sink before you glance over at the clock.
“Tell mom I’ll be out!” You say, throwing off your apron as you quickly check your appearance when you grab for your car keys.
“Where are you going?” Jimin asks.
You glare at him, slipping on your shoes as quickly as you possibly can before you call out to him, halfway out the door:
“Jin’s!”
Tumblr media
“Oh, hey _____.” Jin is surprised when you turn up on his doorstep.
“Hey yourself,” You smile, stepping in after you’ve slipped your shoes off.
“What … what are you doing here?” He asks when the two of you make your way up to his room, after offering a greeting to his parents and brother in the kitchen.
You flop on to the beanbag at the corner of his room and give him a knowing stare.
“You’re leaving tomorrow.” You say.
He nods his head, understanding as he glances around his barren room, most of his belongings packed away in his luggage.
“Are you here to say goodbye?” He teases.
You scoff.
“I suppose.” You shrug, “There was supposed to be shortbread too but …”
He laughs, a sound that you’ve come to adore, even as a young girl you always thought Jin was the funniest person ever. When Jimin would argue that he was funnier, you’d always jump to defend Jin’s ability to make you laugh instead.
“I appreciate the sentiment,” He says to you, plopping down to sit across from you.
“I can’t believe you’re leaving.” You sigh, resting your head against the plushness of the beanbag.
Jin snorts.
“Why does it sound like I’m never coming back?” He jokes.
“Well, for starters, you’re going to be in a completely different time-zone. Two, flight tickets get super expensive during the holiday season’s so I doubt you’d be back. And three—you’d probably make cool university friends keep you company so that you wouldn’t wanna’ come back anyways.”
Jin looks at you, lips twitching upwards as you complain.
“You … you thought that through, huh?”
You roll your eyes, chucking a figurine in his direction.
“Just, promise to call?” You whisper.
He smiles softly at you and nods.
“Course’. I’ll ring Jimin up and we can all talk.”
You blink at his choice of words, afraid he’s misunderstood your point.
“I mean … you can call me …” You mutter.
Jin pauses for a moment, before catching himself and chuckling softly under his breath.
“Wouldn’t that be kind of weird …?”
His choice of words only reminds you of Jimin’s tone when he warned you against your apparent (but very present) crush on Jin.
“Why would it be weird?” You tilt your head to the side.
He snorts at your question and you frown because you don’t understand what aspect of it was funny at all.
“Come on, you’re Jimin’s baby sister. If I called you it would seem predatorial, won’t it? I’m literally five years older than you.”
You don’t think he means to sound condescending, but the tone of his words definitely come across that way. You bite your tongue to not say anything rash just yet, as you take a deep breath before you respond.
“We’re friends … and I turn eighteen in June.” You remind him about your birthday coming in two months.
He shrugs.
“Yes but it’s still weird. It would just seem like we’re together, you know?”
His words make you freeze, eyes widening at his implication.
“Would that be such a bad thing …?” You whisper, and the words leave your mouth before you can think twice.
Jin hears you loud and clear, and his eyes widen. You see his body tense and the way he shifts away from you ever-so-slightly that it makes your heart drop.
“_____ … I don’t …” He tries to navigate the topic, but your eyes are bored straight on his face and it flusters him.
“You’re a kid, _____. I don’t date kids.” He snaps, deciding to opt for a defensive approach.
The demeaning term sets you off as you feel anger bubble through your system in bursts of hotness.
“I’m not a fucking kid!” You snap, and his eyes widen at your tone.
“Woah, calm down—”
“Don’t tell me what to do,” You lash out, “I’m not some dumb or naive child that doesn’t know what’s right or wrong, okay? I’m turning eighteen this year—and I—I thought you were better than this. How could you be so shallow?”
Jin scoffs.
“Shallow? _____,” He deadpans, “You’re just turning eighteen and I’m twenty-three. That’s a whole five-year difference. I don’t think you’re dumb but the thought of dating you right after you turn eighteen is just …” He shudders.
You still.
You didn’t know Jin could hurt you so much with just words, but he did just that. He didn’t need to say much, but you felt every sting that came with his intentions.
“Who said anything about dating?” You ask hoarsely, “I just said to call me.”
Jin softens a little, turning to face you as he sighs.
“_____ … I know you have a crush on me and—”
You’re absolutely mortified when he exposes you out in the open like that, the truth left out for both of you to mull over; but even worse for you as you were the one that was on the plank.
“Why does everyone keep saying that!” You snap, embarrassment crawling up your neck as you avoid his gaze, attempting to deflect.
“—I don’t need you waiting for me when I’m off to university. I’ll be fucking around a lot and you don’t deserve that.”
You gape at him, stunned at his audacity.
“Do you think I’m that pathetic?” You laugh, but there’s no humour in it.
“What? No—”
“Oh, you so do, Kim Seokjin,” You snarl, “Do you think I would wait for you? To live out some stupid fairytale? Yes—I have a crush on you but that’s all there is to it—a fucking crush!” You yell.
His eyes widen, attempting to reach out for you to calm you down, but you shift away.
“I’m not asking for your hand in marriage but just for a fucking phone call. I’m not even asking you to like me back!” You throw your hands into the air.
“But you’re implying it! Why else would I call some girl that I’m only friends with cause' of her brother if I didn’t like her?”
That’s all it takes for silence to overtake the both of you, your mouth stunned shut as your eyes widen at his words.
“What?” You choke.
It’s like Jin is blinded by the need to defend himself, a carnal desire to protect his own heart to make him feel less like a weirdo about the way his best friend’s little sister makes him feel. An odd feeling he never wanted to acknowledge until he acknowledged you.
“I mean exactly what I said, ____,” He spits so vehemently that he doesn’t recognise himself, “All you do is follow us around like some helpless puppy because of what—your crush on me? Get over it because I’ll never like you.”
You freeze, and your heart does too.
“Do you think I willingly talk to you? It’s because of Jimin! You’re his baby sister. What else could I do? Tell you to fuck off?” He snaps.
Your lip trembles but you will yourself not to cry in front of him. Not this boy who thinks of you that way, as someone’s baby sister rather than who you were.
“You don’t need to tell me anything,” You say, oddly calm, but your glassy eyes are what snaps Jin out of it.
“Wait … ____,” He sighs.
“I’ll fuck off myself, all right?” You grit, pushing yourself off the beanbag before you’re storming out of his room.
Jin doesn’t bother chasing after you because he’s mulling over his words, absolutely disgusted with what he said. His parents and brother miss you when you’re out the door crying.
Jimin doesn’t even ask how you were.
Tumblr media
“Oh—”
It’s like he’s always there at your most vulnerable moments.
Jin is hovering by the entrance of the changing room awkwardly, his limbs too long for the tight space.
He startles you out of your reminiscent state as you clutch the robe to your chest, acutely aware of the fact that you were in nothing but your bra and underwear underneath it.
You flush, avoiding his eyes, afraid that if you looked at them; all you would remember is what he said to you.
“It’s fine,” You parrot the words he said to you earlier, and quickly pack your belongings, and casual clothes into a bag to make your way out back into your hotel room.
As you brush past him, he stops you with his voice.
“______.”
You freeze, hands still tightly gripping your robe as you feel his eyes rake over your body. You feel both exposed and safe, because once upon a time—Jin was the person that could comfort you the most.
“Yes?” You say in a clipped tone.
You hear him sigh, and you’re about to leave until he interrupts you again.
“How are you?”
You nearly scoff at the mediocre question he poses when the situation between the two of you is anything but. The question seems so out of place when the room is so tense, the ghost of his words here to haunt you both.
“Good.” Is all you respond with before you try to leave.
He grabs you by the elbow, gently, but enough for you to fall against his chest, his arms reaching around to grab you before you fall.
The opening to your robe falls a bit, and his eyes dart away out of respect as you quickly shove it closed with reddened ears.
“What do you want?” You snap.
He winces at your hostility but doesn’t blame you for it.
“I just wanted to catch up with you,” He shrugs.
Now, you scoff. It’s because Jin is still so irrevocably him, that in any other circumstance you’d smile in fondness at his ability to make any situation simple as if there wasn’t history between the two of you.
“Do you now?” You say blandly, “What do you want to know? I’m still Jimin’s baby sister if you were wondering.” You say bitterly.
Jin freezes and sighs when you bring it up; alluding to what he said to you that night years ago.
“Actually … I wanted to apologise,” He confesses.
At that, you still.
Apologise?
Did you need an apology? Wasn’t that what usually fixed conflict?
But no, an apology wasn’t going to fix the years of insecurity that you were left with when he was gone, always nitpicking at your flaws and your identity; wondering if it were really only an extension of your older brother.
Even though you were older, and somewhat more rational—there was still a part of you that wanted to blame Jin for your insecurities, even though you knew that was a war between you and yourself.
“For what? Calling me an extension of my brother or that our friendship was to please Jimin?” You snarl.
He winces and releases the hold he has on your elbow as he rubs his hand across his face.
“I was young and—”
You scoff.
“Young? I thought you were too old back then? Where was this energy ten years ago?”
His eyes narrow at you, and he noticed that you definitely grew a backbone—and a mouth. It was inappropriate still, to think of you any other way right now when he was attempting to apologise to you.
But your beauty was dangerous, and you’ve always been a pretty thing; even when you were growing up. The truth he uttered a decade ago was somewhat the truth still, he felt way too … old to be with you, even if his heart begged for him to keep you close.
“I don’t know why I said the things I did, _____.” He sighs.
You turn around, face contorted with every emotion you’ve been withholding since that fateful night.
“Let me tell you then,” You shove a finger into his chest.
“You’re pathetic,” You spit, hoping to hurt him as much as he’s hurt you.
His eyes widen when you lean in closer.
“You liked me too and you had no fucking clue what to do about it, so you pushed me away the one night I asked for a small favour. You wanted to protect yourself because you’re too in your head thinking that your feelings matter more than anyone else’s, am I right Jin?”
“_______ …”
“Shut up,” You snap.
He does, and he sees the fire in your eyes burn brighter.
“You thought you were the only one that was struggling with their emotions but guesses what—you weren’t,” You whisper, “I was too. And I pushed it aside every moment I spent with you because I knew that it wasn’t my position to decide for you if you liked me or not.”
His hand reaches out to cup your face, something instinctual inside of him told him to do so—wanting to hold you close. To his surprise, you don’t pull away. Your features soften, but you haven’t done your piece just yet.
“But you … you decided for me.” You say softly, “You showed me how much of a piece of shit you were that night.”
Jin’s eyes widen, and the words hurt—but nothing compared to how he felt when you blocked him everywhere, even to go as far to tell Jimin to never mention your name to him.
It sucked for the first two years, but eventually as you went to college and university, you unblocked him. Was it out of spite to let him see how well you were doing? Or the boyfriend that you had?
Maybe.
“_____, I’m sorry.”
Here he was, at thirty-four years old, apologising to you much like a man would—and you can’t help but admire his face when you lean in, heart willing yourself to act rather than your rationale.
“I forgave you a long time ago,” You say.
It seems that you shock him more and more with each second that passes. You weren’t the same girl you were a decade ago, but yet traces of you still lingered in your features, your smile, your voice and your words. It was just you, but older.
“It was for me.” You tell him softly and he nods his head in understanding, cupping your jaw.
“You have no idea how much I regret that night, ______.” He whispers.
You purse your lips.
“What will regret bring you, Jin? A do-over?”
This time he goes silent to observe your face. It’s no longer the same cold stare you’ve been giving him the entire day or the fact that you’ve been ignoring his presence until he found you tucked away in the changing room—a tip-off from Jimin.
“No but … you’re right,” He tells you, “I wanted to protect myself and it was selfish. I can’t change what I said or did but I’m here now and—my heart is still the same.”
“Ten years change people, Jin. I’ve changed and so did you. Maybe you liked the girl I was when I was eighteen but I’m nowhere near in the same mind-space I was back then.” You tell him.
Even though your own heart betrays you by beating rapidly against your chests the closer the holds you, you knew that acting out of your rationale would only end up with you being hurt yet again. You forgave Jin … sure you did. But ten years was far too long to accept the fact he may feel the same.
“I know but I couldn’t forget you, not when I was in university and not when I started working.” He confesses, eyes burning into your own.
You purse your lips and stand your ground. A hand reaches to clasp his, slowly pushing it away from your face as you sigh. You notice the crestfallen expression on his face, but you don’t comment on it.
“I forgave you but that doesn’t mean I forgot what you said to me that night …” You tell him, “I know I was young and that you aren’t responsible for my insecurities but you told me every single thing that I was terrified of.”
His eyes soften but ensuring he kept his distance when you slightly pull away.
“_____—” He sighs.
“No, Jin,” You tell him firmly, “You were the person that mended Jimin and I’s relationship so you knew how much it ruined me to believe that I was nothing but a product of his aspirations. That I had nothing for myself but who my brother was. I struggled so much to find my footing as a teenager and I didn’t even know what I liked and didn’t like it because the lines were so blurred between my own interests and Jimin’s.”
Suddenly, he sees a little glimpse of the girl when you were eighteen peakings through your exterior. You still sounded a little unsure of yourself, words shaking ever so slightly.
“And for the person to tell me that I was more than just Park Jimin’s sister to … to …” You swallow, the words stuck in your throat because as much as forgiving Jin was for him as it was to you, the words still haunt your mind.
“To say that I was just an extension of my brother?” You whisper, “I didn’t know who I was then but I lost who I tried to be when you said that.”
Jin bites his lip, feeling awful. But he knew that he had no right to feel like he was the one that was hurt when his words plagued your mind for years.
“Whatever your feelings are at this moment …” You trail off, clutching your belongings to your chest, ready to leave without another glance, “They’re just your guilt telling you to hold on to something you didn’t get closure with.”
You look over at him once more, a solemn expression on your face.
“This is your closure, Jin.”
You leave without sparing him another glance, and the man stands in the empty changing room feeling a lot different. He thought he’d amended things, but when you leave, it feels as bad as it had been ten years ago.

The Titans are almost back, bitches. aka 3x06
Guys, literally every time the titans are together-or even paired up-the episode gets ten times better, but in 6 episodes there is simply not enough Kory and Gar. I can easily forget that when I’m basking in the episode they are in, especially when they’re giving us family dynamics.
Kory:
“You’re not mad that I left. You’re mad I came back.” Kory’s face tells us Blackfire is right on the money, and who would know her better than her sister?
So, Kory, oh boy. Our girl is on edge. She is slowly unraveling and is super vulnerable and raw with Kom around and little sister is going to exploit it and her guilt, which I think she’s carrying a lot of. So far their dynamic has been fascinating because there’s so much to read between them and so many accusations being flung back and forth, from both. From Kory; you sense guilt and even contempt and from Kom there’s envy and resentment, but also there’s a sense of idealization for her older sister, too, which of course, with younger siblings, there always is an element of that. And as an older sibling, there is always an unspoken and sometimes spoken responsibility placed on them for their younger siblings. Parents often don’t realize it, but they can create a lot of tension within siblingships by assigning roles.
They remember home and family very differently, which is often the case, too. Kom was often thrown in the pit and to that, Kory attributes her sister’s constant rebellion as the reason, and yet, Kory herself was a bit of a rule breaker, sleeping with her guard, Fiddei.
Kory was being suffocated by the laws and customs of her home planet; one could say she rebelled by going on a mission, to escape her duties. Home did neither of them any favors because while one rebelled because she did not fit in, the one who did fit in was dying inside, surrounded by little robots and becoming one herself. Being told what to eat, wear and who to love or be friends with is yikes.
I was thinking Kom began her game of manipulation in the bunker, but she really started before that when she sent Fiddei to bring Kory home when she probably intended to kill him all along. After all she would’ve castrated him if she’d had the chance to for sleeping with Kory in the first place. Shortly after Fiddei’s death, Kory flamed out. No powers. Emotionally wrung out from the news her family was dead and now the culprit is here. These two know each other very well and know exactly how to get underneath each other’s skin. Right now Kom is getting underneath Kory’s and our girl is losing patience fast.
I’m wondering when exactly Dick will tune into Kory’s anxiety-ridden state and step in to support.
Ultimately, I just want to see what truly happened to the girls on their planet and how we have the versions we have now. Like, Kory said to Rachel, “No one is born good or bad, we are defined by our choices.” I get the feeling Kory has given Kom so many chances to make a different choice and has become disillusioned, meanwhile Kom believes nothing she does will give her the respect she feels she deserves anyway, so she may as well blow shit up, figuratively and literally. At least then she’ll have Kory’s attention.
Gar:
Gar losing it on Dick was so cathartic and yet he could’ve gone much further, considering Dick abandoned him last season to go jail and hallucinate Bruce. It ultimately led to Gar (and Conner) being kidnapped and experimented on by Mercy. It’s actually all the adults fault this happened, but as the leader promoting his family everywhere he goes, he needs to keep his eye on the ball. He would know if he spent five minutes at home with them that Gar is struggling. Last season Gar was #OperationSaveTitans and this season he’s #ThisFamilyIsDying. He’s doing what the adults should be doing, or at least leading the charge on it. He’s the glue, but who will hold him together?
He’s carrying too much emotional responsibility and Dick’s dismissal, because he is fully locked into Gotham and being Batman, makes me mad. Get your head in the game, Grayson. Gotham is going to eat your family while you retread the nostalgic steps of your past.
We all know Dick’s not good at expressing himself emotionally, though he’s usually forced to express something when talking to or being confronted by Kory, so I was proud of him for giving Gar the floor to speak. I just wish Gar spoke about himself, but then again, he needs more time and consistent offers to be heard. I’m happy Dick followed up the conversation up with a bonding/training session. There was definitely pride in Dick’s face because Gar really has come a long way in this group, but he needs MORE SCREEN TIME. I’d like to see the two of them out in the field together the way we’ve seen Kory this season with Gar and Conner.
I wonder if Gar losing control is the start of all his trauma bubbling up to the surface, will being in Gotham, hunting down a friend be too much?
As a side, has the CGI tiger face gotten worse?
Kom (and Conner):
First thing’s first, what music are we thinking Kom listens to? Probably the kind of music she can break your tailbone to, like, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole and Jay Z, or Prince, Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Nicks and Led Zeppelin? Rihanna?
Kom is absolutely a villain this season and if she isn’t, what a waste that’ll be. A mastermind at mind games (see, her picking up the chess piece), who is going to drum up Kory’s paranoia and anxiety around her being there. Trying to kill her suspicion by guilt tripping her while simultaneously being a do good-er to the group, feigning interest in helping the Titans to earn her way in, a tip from our boy, Conner.
She says she wants acceptance and I believe that’s absolutely true, but she doesn’t know how to get that without using power, so she’ll continue to covet acceptance through and with power because according to Kory, she’s always been a climber. Add to that, being born the cursed child and the only royal member born without the gift of fire, something that differentiates them from the common folk, being too frail to participate in the same games as Kory, having a speech therapist be her only friend while being the object of ridicule and you have a villain origin story nicely set up.
I really enjoyed Conner and Kom’s exchange. The boy lit up when he spoke about seeing his family happy and it made me light up. He’s so genuine and has a big heart and Kom is going to take advantage of it, that’s not to say she won’t develop real feelings for him, but she can like him and still use him.
Conner’s “you have to earn your way into the family,” is perhaps an internal and personal struggle he has from sharing blood with Luthor. I think it may come from an insecure place because he was made a titan as soon as he woke up and no one questioned it, but as he’s only half of superman, he’s constantly trying to prove his usefulness for good, which losing Hank has rocked, leaving him vulnerable to Kom’s recognition for his otherness. Their otherness.
She gave us insight into her mind, but also she has likely seized an opportunity to use the vulnerability against Conner and to her favor by making him her kindred. Outcasts. Will she gain influence over him? He’s still young and learning, and trusting, too.
Her interest in him felt layered, ignoring the ugly customs of sex servants, she was also observing Kory’s relationships and ranking them in her sister’s life. Her being able to determine who may have Kory’s interest (which Kory gave away with her vulnerable display of worry over Dick’s welfare in front of Kom) will surely come into play at some point, right? After all, Kom did kill Kory’s last lover/royal guard. This may be me projecting. LOL.
Romantically, I’m waiting to see how they play it before I decide if I like it or not, but so far, they have a nice chemistry. Friendly.
Dick (and Barbara) :
What a lovable dumb ass.
I was so happy Kory lost it on him and called him on his lone ranger shit, at least when it’s her, even when he’s being an idiot, he’s still listening. “Let’s go.” and I thought it was hilarious that he tried explaining himself, but when Gar called him out, he got all huffy with, “Excuse me, young man.”
Gar asking Kory not to have words with Barbara over Dick getting shot was so funny because Dick’s face seemed to ask the same when she asked how it happened. We love a protective Kory. I’ll be looking at him when it’s his turn to reciprocate.
I don’t like him dismissing their concerns about his personal safety and how it affects them, it’s like he’s learned nothing after running off alone to battle Trigon, or rather has unlearned his lessons of S2. I’d like to see some more permanent emotional growth from him by this season’s end. In his current state, he’s not an exuding leader. He can’t be when he’s still wrapped up in Bruce and all things Gotham. He’s not tuned into Kory’s anxiety, or Conner’s grief and insecurity, or Gar’s emotional burden.
He’s started making it up to him, but he has much to do in taking Gar’s concerns and emotional needs seriously.
I’m not even going to try and work out the timeline between Barbara and Dick and Dick and old Titans in San Fran and S1. But it doesn’t bode well that Dick’s dream with Barbara ended in a nightmare.
I wish they’d never did the whole Dick and Dawn relationship in S2 because they’re basically repeating some of the beats in showing us how they don’t work as a couple, only his relationship with Babs makes a lot more sense even though I don't care. Dick has unfinished business with that relationship, Bruce and Gotham and I can only hope he’s wrapped it up for good by this season’s end. I want to see relaxed, smiling and happy Dick in THE PRESENT. I still Babs will be the one to notice and point out Dick's feelings for Kory.
Barbara (outside of Dick) is being downplayed a little, no? Dismissing Dick’s suspicions about Jason when he arrived, showing no knowledge of Jason’s visits to Crane and then taking the bait and moving Crane after he got a light beat down. A commissioner who was also a very capable vigilante is tricked by a recording and goes to meet “Bruce” on her own. I really enjoyed that she could hold her own and the fight scene was really good, but it was a bit baffling that she fell for that ruse. So far, she’s not entirely good at her job.
Dick’s a distraction in his own right and her feelings clearly get in the way, which is why she keeps asking him to leave the precinct and Gotham; because she’s pining a fantasy and he’s ruining it. Lastly, I really like the way Savannah plays Barbara.
Why’d they do that to Tim?? :(
Overall, it was a better episode and I enjoyed it more than latter episodes, but they’re not quite there yet for me. I’m  still waiting for Team Titans.

‘i will never, never leave you’ (chapter three)
warnings: none
context: IN WHICH kami gojo, younger sister of certain powerful jujutsu sorcerer, meets an idiot who makes cold barrier around her heart melt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Roppongi my ass," laughed Kami, looking at the abandoned old building they were standing in front of.
"There's a curse here," stated Satoru.
"You liar!"
"This isn't even Roppongi!"
"You were toying with us country folk!"
"There's a big cemetery nearby. The double whammy of that and an abandoned building brought out a curse," Satoru said, not taking his eyes off the building.
"So they really do pop up more often around graves?" Itadori asked as Nobara shouted evil in the background.
"The issue isn't the cementery itself," Yuuji's head turned abruptly towards Kami, who finally spoke up and a blush came over his face that he didn't even notice.
But Satoru did.
"It's the fact that people associate cemeteries with fear," Kami explained, totally oblivious.
"Oh, it was the same for schools, too, wasn't it?" Yuuji replied, ignoring the heat that flooded him at the sound of the younger Gojo's soft voice.
"Hold up. He didn't even know that yet?" Nobara asked, approaching from Kami's left.
"He swallowed a special-grade cursed object? Gross! Unbelievable! That's so unsanitary and disgusting! No way, no way, no way, no way!"
"This is what I was telling them the whole time," deadpanned Kami, and Nobara grabbed her by the shoulders and looked her straight in the eye.
"They thought otherwise?!" She exclaimed and leaned her head against Kami's shoulder, groaning at the thought of this. Kami patted her lightly on the head, glad that finally someone understood her.
"What?!"
"I agree with them," Fushiguro said.
"I want to know what all of you are capable of. Just think of this as a field test," Satoru finally spoke up. "Nobara, Yuuji, you two go exorcise the curse inside that building."
"Geh!"
"Huh? But I thought only curses could exorcise curses, right?" Asked a confused Yuuji. "I can't use any jujutsu yet."
"You're basically half a curse already. There's cursed energy flowing throughout your body. Though controlling that energy isn't something you can learn overnight," Satoru said and extended his hand towards Kami, who with a sigh pulled a weapon from the strap tied across her waist and handed it to him. "So use this."
"It's the cursed tool, Slaughter Demon. It's a weapon imbued with cursed energy. It'll work on curses, too," Kami explained as Itadori marveled at the weapon in his hand.
"Lame," Nobara said, and she and Itadori headed towards the building.
"Oh one more thing! Don't let Sukuna out! If you use him, you'll get rid of all the curses nearby in a flash, but you'll also drag everyone around into it."
"Got it, I won't let Sukuna out."
"I think I'll go, too," Megumi spoke up after a moment of silence.
"Don't push yourself. You're still recovering."
"But someone needs to keep an eye on Itadori, right?"
"True. But the one we're testing this time is Nobara."
"But don't you think leaving her with Itadori is kinda stupid? I mean, he's kinda... reckless," Kami spoke up, playing with her long hair.
"Also true. That Yuuji... He's missing a few up here," the older Gojo said, pointing to his head. "He has no hesitation when it comes to killing these tings that take form of living creatures, albeit bizzare-looking ones, to try to kill him. And it's not like he's been familiar with curses for a long time, like you two. This boy used to live a normal high school life."
'Normal.' What is normal? Did Kami ever experience or will ever experience something 'normal'?
"You've seen plenty of jujutsu sorcerers, even those with talent, give up in frustration because they couldn't conquer their fear or disgust, haven't you?"
'It will probably be me,' Kami thought, listening to what her brother was saying.
"So today I want to confirm how crazy she is."
Silence.
No one said anything, no one dared to say anything. Because what would they have?
Kami played with her fingers out of nervousness. And she didn't know if it was because of how awkward the silence was, or because she was afraid for the two inexperienced jujutsu sorcerers who were about to face the curses alone in an abandoned building. Maybe it was because of both.
'Or more by the second one,' she thought as she saw the curse fly out the window.
"I'll exorcise it,' Megumi said, looking at the curse.
"Hold on."
Not a few seconds passed, and the curse was gone. It had evaporated. There was nothing left of it but a dirty memory.
"Nice."
"She's crazy, all right," Satoru said smiling.
"I live over there! Thanks again!" Exclaimed the boy whom Nobara and Itadori had rescued in the building and whom they had just escorted home, making sure he got there safely.
The Gojo siblings waved the boy away, Kami letting out a breath she hadn't even noticed she was holding in. The white-haired girl felt a hand on her shoulder and lifted her gaze to look at her brother, who was grinning at her.
"Are you hungry?" He asked and started to lead them to where three of her classmates were waiting for them.
"A little, I haven't eaten anything all day," Kami said and put her arm through her brother's waist, leaning against him gently.
"Good Joseph!" Shouted Satoru suddenly, directing this to the three waiting on the stairs. "We made sure the kid got home."
Nobara and Itadori sprang to their feet and stood, prepared for the next mission.
"Now shall we go grab some food?"
"Steak!"
"Sushi!"
"Not again," Kami muttered under her breath, and Satoru laughed softly.
"Leave it all to me!" Her brother shouted. "And you, Megumi?"
Megumi didn't answer anything, being too busy playing some game on her phone.
Without waiting for anyone, Satoru put his hands on Itadori and Nobara's shoulders and started walking in the opposite direction, leaving Megumi and Kami alone behind.
'Ouch,' thought Kami as she saw Satoru laughing with Itadori and Nobara.
"Are you coming?" She heard Megumi's voice who smiled gently at her.
Kami reciprocated the gesture and ran to his left, following the rest.
"Oh, I forgot about my biggest haul of the day," Nobara began, walking in front of the rest. " Hey, you," she pointed to Itadori. "Go fetch my stuff."
"Huh? Why should I do it? I thought we were even."
"We won thanks to my cursed energy. Got a problem with that?"
"What about my raw strength?"
"Your monstrous power from eating weird shit?"
"It's not just that! Right, Fushiguro?"
Silence.
"Huh? What's the matter, Fushiguro?"
"Nothing."
"He's pouting because he didn't get to join in," Satoru spoke up.
"What a child!" Nobara said.
Itadori started laughing, definitely happy. After all, he finally had someone to get along with. And when everyone else joined in, it made his heart fill with warmth even more. But not quite. He didn't hear the laughter he most wanted to hear.
He lifted his gaze to Kami, who was staring dead at him, the corners of her mouth not even lifting for a moment. And that made something in his heart hurt.
Satoru wasn't blind either and noticed something was wrong, slowing his step to walk beside Kami.
"Are you okay?" He asked, leaning over her so only she could hear him.
"Why wouldn't I be?" Kami raised an eyebrow.
Satoru watched her closely, observing her every little movement. The way her hands tangled at the back of her body, her fingers playing with themselves. The way her gaze fled everywhere but at anyone beside her. The way you could see her nervously biting her lip and cheeks from the inside. The way she was so tense.
Satoru laughed softly, knowing what's going on and wrapped his long arm around Kami, pulling her close and kissing her gently on the top of her head, a thing he always did when she was sad and a thing that always helped.
This time was no different as Kami closed her eyes, relaxing a bit.
"After all, you know that no one can replace you for me, you're my little sister, no one could do it," Satoru whispered and reached out his little toe, wrapping it around Kami's one, getting at least serious for a moment before returning to his previous state and tickling Kami on her sides where she was most ticklish.
Kami jumped back with a squeal and threw an evil but amused look at her brother, who only winked at her and started laughing, matching Megumi's step.
The little girl's loud laughter rang through the yard behind the house as her older brother tickled her on the ground, laughing along with her. When he finally stopped, the white-haired girl looked at her brother and smiled widely.
"Satoru?"
"Hm?" The white-haired boy replied, falling onto his back next to his little sister and looking at her.
"Will you promise me something?" The girl asked, sitting down on the ground, crossing her petite legs.
Satoru nodded, also sitting down on the ground. The girl giggled softly and extended her hand towards her brother, showing her tiny little finger.
"Promise me you'll never leave me."
Satoru's face fell, and his heart simultaneously hurt and flooded with warmth. Because on one hand, what had it come to that a six year old girl would think anyone would leave her, and on the other hand, this was one of the most adorable scenes he could ever experience.
After a moment of silence, Satoru smiled softly and wrapped his, large compared to his sister's, finger around hers and rested his forehead against Kami's forehead, looking her straight in the eyes.
"I will never, but never leave you. After all, you know that no one can replace you for me, you're my little sister, no one could do it," he said seriously, never letting go of her finger from his as he felt tears coming to his eyes.
He quickly closed his eyelids and pulled his younger version to him, who immediately snuggled into her warm and loving brother.
"I will never, never leave you."
At the mention, Kami's eyes welled up with tears, which she quickly wiped away and pretended everything was ok.
'Then why does it feel like you're distancing yourself from me now? Like you're not proud of me? Like you want to leave me, just like everyone else?'

Storms
ShinoMitsu Week 2021 Day Two: (Storms, Stars, Flowers)
A/N: Okay, so there are no manga spoilers here, but it's the next part of day one. This is also where the modern AU starts. You could read this one and not get manga spoilers but it might be a bit confusing idk. Like I said before, days four through seven are just gonna be out of order events that are purely AU without mention of events in KNY proper so, yeah. Probably your safest bet. Sorry if I’m not making any sense. Hope y’all like it though. Word Count: 4,080
“God damn it,” Shinobu sighed under her breath as she checked fruitlessly through her school bag for an umbrella she already knew wasn’t there. “Slightly overcast my ass.”
Currently, it was pouring buckets while the sky was rumbling and intermittently flashing with distant lightning. Shinobu had stayed late studying in the library, unaware of the storm that had been forming just outside. What had first started as a trickle, had become a full blown downpour and now she was stuck, deciding whether or not to call Kanae to drive her back or brave the eight block sprint and look like a drowned rat.
She took out her phone and finally registered the time, her shoulders slumped. Kanae would still be at work for another hour or so. Shinobu briefly thought of Kanao, but she wasn’t going to make her younger sister walk all the way over here, umbrella or no.
Shinobu shook her head and secured her phone in her bag, then tightened her shoulder strap. It was only a little over a kilometer and a half to her home. She ran laps all the time and calculated with the added weight of her bag and of course, the weather, it would probably take her about ten minutes to get home. Definitely not her fastest, but she couldn’t risk hurting herself before the meet on Friday.
She took a deep breath in through her nose, set her feet to push off the library stoop and—
“Hey, Shinobu-san!”
Shinobu’s hand shot out for the railing, stopping herself mid push off. She voiced her annoyance in a huff of air, before looking up at the sidewalk before her. Standing in the pouring rain was upperclassman Kanroji Mitsuri with a large, bright green umbrella that stung Shinobu’s eyes as well as it mocked her.
“Hello, Kanroji-senpai.” Shinobu greeted just loud enough to be heard over the pounding rain.
Mitsuri grinned brightly and Shinobu groaned inwardly as her senior skipped over in bright pink rain boots. It wasn’t that Shinobu disliked her, Kanroji was just emotional, a bit of an airhead. She acted sweet and familiar with everyone and it got on Shinobu’s nerves. Shinobu just couldn’t picture herself spending any extended period of time with the older girl, but that didn’t stop Kanroji from approaching her more often than not with frivolous chatter.
Mitsuri stopped just in front of her, asking the obvious, “Did you forget your umbrella, Shinobu-san?”
“I would hardly say ‘forgot’ is the right word, Senpai. I watched the weather report this morning. It wasn’t supposed to even sprinkle much less have this torrential downpour occur.” Shinobu bitterly replied. Mitsuri merely giggled at her Kouhai’s brusqueness before motioning her forward with her free hand.
“Come under my umbrella, Shinobu-san. I’ll walk you home, okay?” Mitsuri offered cheerfully.
“That won’t be necessary. I’ve already decided to run for it. Good day, Kanroji-senpai.” Shinobu stubbornly declined. She moved left, attempting to go off on her way, but Kanroji blocked her path, pouting.
“Come on, Shinobu-san. Let me walk you home. You’ll get sick if you run in the rain. How will I be able to cheer for you on Friday if you’re bedridden?” Mitsuri asked, coaxing Shinobu underneath her umbrella again.
“I’ll manage. I live a ways off from here.” Shinobu denied Mitsuri again, her patience running thin. She moved to the right and Mitsuri mirrored her once more.
“That’s alright, I was just out enjoying the weather. I’ve got no other plans and besides, what kind of Senpai would I be if I didn’t help out one of my cute little Kouhai!”
And Shinobu took that personally.
Yes, she was on the short side and wasn’t even a hundred pounds soaking wet, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t kick ass and take names when she wanted to. And she was not cute!
“I don’t need your help.” Shinobu said sharply, making Mitsuri flinch. The younger girl broke left once more and leapt over the stoop to land firmly on the sidewalk, soaking her feet in the large puddle. Shinobu paid it no mind and began jogging home as rain pelted her, quickly wetting her hair and clothes.
She thought that would be the end of it, but then the rain stopped hitting her and light panting could faintly be heard behind her. Shinobu glanced above her, and instead of grey skies, she saw neon green.
“Senpai, what are you doing?”
“Taking you home!” Mitsuri spoke resolutely.
Shinobu turned her head back in the direction she was going, shaking it side to side. Couldn’t Kanroji see she didn’t want her help? Shinobu was well past her threshold for politeness and respect for her senior so she scoffed and picked up her pace.
“You want to take me home then you’ve got to keep up.” She called over her shoulder before kicking up her pace a notch.
“Shinobu-san! Wait up!” Mitsuri whined, jogging after Shinobu with her umbrella arm outstretched, trying to keep up with her junior to keep them both relatively dry.
Shinobu did not wait up, gradually picking up pace, she began leaving Mitsuri behind. But Mitsuri did not give up, evident by the irregular breaths Shinobu heard behind her between rolls of thunder.
They carried on like this for nearly a full kilometer and Shinobu was glad they were the only two crazy enough to be out in this storm because she was sure they must be a sight. She leapt over a pothole in the sidewalk that she usually walked past everyday and was gearing up to run even faster when she heard a big splash and a pained sharp cry that forced her to stop in her tracks.
Turning abruptly, she felt a sharp sting of guilt pull at her chest as she took in Mitsuri laid out on the concrete, completely soaked. The poor girl must not have noticed the damaged sidewalk.
Damn it, why didn’t Shinobu just let the girl walk her home? She shouldn’t have let something so insignificant damage her pride so easily. All Mitsuri ever did was be nice to her, and now look at her.
Shinobu quickly snapped up the umbrella before it could be blown away and crouched over Mitsuri, shielding her from the downpour.
Slowly, Mitsuri made it into a sitting position and Shinobu felt exponentially worse seeing how drenched Mitsuri was and her torn tights and bloodied knees. She could tell her senior was tearing up too, this was a totally avoidable disaster.
“I’m so sorry Kanroji-senpai, do you think you can stand up?” Shinobu asked.
“I, I think so,” Mitsuri sniffled, shakily pulling a leg in front of herself.
Shinobu reached out, taking Mitsuri by the bicep in an attempt to help her stand. As soon as she touched her, visions flashed through her mind too fast to discern. She pulled back, looking at her slightly shaking hand.
Whatever had happened, Mitsuri seemed to have had a similar experience, gingerly cupping the spot on her arm Shinobu had touched, an awed expression on her face. They stared at each other for a minute, but Shinobu eventually shook her head and and helped Mitsuri up. Whatever had just happened must have been a fluke, a product of being out in this wild storm, because it didn’t happen again.
“Come on, we’re almost there. Let’s get you cleaned up.” Shinobu softly commanded, guiding Mitsuri forward.
Mitsuri aimed a small, thankful smile at Shinobu that made the younger girl’s ears burn. She shouldn’t be looking at her like that, this had all been her fault after all. Shinobu kept her attention on the street, tightening her hold on the basically useless umbrella as they walked the rest of the way to her home together.
***
Shinobu unlocked the front door and pushed it open with a sigh, “I’m home and I’ve brought company!” She called out before turning her attention back to Mitsuri. “You can hang your jacket there. Leave your boots there and follow me.”
“You have a lovely home Shinobu-san.” Mitsuri complimented, shaking off her jacket. “Are your parents home?”
“Uh no, they’re a usually off on pharmacy business so it’s mostly just my sisters and I.” Shinobu answered, tugging off her soaked socks.
“Oh! I remember your big sister, she was so nice! I haven’t seen her since she graduated. Is she here now?”
“She’s working.” Shinobu answered curtly, focusing on the list in her head of how to best tackle the state of mess they were in.
“Welcome home Nee-san... and guest.” Kanao called softly from further down the hall, observing her sister’s disheveled form curiously.
“Hi, Kanao.” Shinobu greeted, stepping into the main portion of the home with Mitsuri trailing behind her.
“Aw, is this your little sister?” Mitsuri cooed, waving excitedly, “it’s nice to meet you! I’ve seen you at some of Shinobu-san’s cross country and track events in the past. I didn’t realize you two were related!”
Kanao, not purposefully, ignored her, still focusing on Shinobu. “Nee-san, you’re wet.” She stated matterofactly.
“Yes, I know. Give me a few minutes and I’ll be ready to help you start dinner, alright?”
Kanao nodded and walked away, disappearing around the corner while Shinobu lead Mitsuri in another direction. The older girl squealed.
“Your little sister is so cute, Shinobu-san. I already have five younger siblings but one more wouldn’t hurt if it was Kanao-chan!”
Shinobu merely rolled her eyes and pulled Mitsuri into the bathroom. “Wait here a minute,” Shinobu said before leaving the room.
When she came back, she had a pair of Kanae’s shorts and one of her own oversized track hoodies for Mitsuri to change into, placing them on a clear edge of the sink.
“You can change into these after you shower, use whatever you want, I don’t care... maybe not the white bottle of conditioner, Kanae’s weird about that for some reason.”
“That’s very generous of you, thank you Shinobu-san!” Mitsuri beamed.
Mitsuri was elated. What started out as a failed attempt to chivalrously walk Shinobu home in the rain, had allowed her to be present in the home of one of the people she admired most. After months of trying and trying to get closer to Shinobu, she finally had an opportunity to grow their relationship!
Shinobu nodded in acknowledgment before leaving Mitsuri in the bathroom. Then Mitsuri warmed up the shower and took off her damp uniform, pouting a bit at the sight of her ripped tights and skinned knees.
As Mitsuri immersed herself in the warmth of the water she ran her fingers over where Shinobu had touched her arm and wondered what had happened. There was a connection between her and Shinobu, of that much she was certain. She could tell that her Kouhai had shared the experience as well. She decided that they would definitely have to talk about it soon.
Mitsuri peered over the mixed array of shampoos, conditioners and body wash and picked three. Being mindful to leave the white bottle of conditioner as Shinobu had suggested. She popped the cap of the shampoo and squirted some in her hand and lathered it into her hair. The smell of ginger and lemon grass enveloped her and Mitsuri teetered giddily on her feet as she rubbed the familiar scent into her hair.
Mitsuri finished washing up and dried off, slipping into the clothing Shinobu had provided for her. As she bent down to pick up her wet clothes, she caught a faint whiff of a wisteria scented perfume. She pulled at the front of the giant sweatshirt Shinobu had given her and took a testing smell.
She felt transported to another time as images flashed through her mind once again. She blinked pack to attention as a knock sounded against the bathroom door.
“Kanroji-senpai, are you almost done? I can put your clothes in the wash for you if you slip them out the door.” Shinobu’s muffled voice called.
“Ah! I’m done, I’ll be out in just a second!” Mitsuri called back, hastily grabbing up her clothes before yanking the door open quickly and startling the younger girl.
“No kidding.” Shinobu blinked. “Well then, I’ll put those in the wash for you and you can hang out in the kitchen with Kanao while I get cleaned up. Don’t expect her to be much of a conversationalist though.”
“Okay, thank you again for all of this, Shinobu-san. You’ve been very kind.” Mitsuri smiled.
“Don’t thank me for doing the bare minimum here, okay?” Shinobu sighed, “just go sit down.” Shinobu turned swiftly on her heel and went to the laundry room with rosy cheeks.
Mitsuri hugged the sweatshirt, pulling it closer to her skin to send another little burst of wisteria to her nose, humming pleasantly to herself as she made her way to the kitchen. The delicious smells that guided her made her stomach growl and she realized just how hungry she was.
She took a seat at the kitchen island, shooting Kanao another little wave. The middle schooler hardly looked up, focusing more intently of the vegetables she was cutting. Mitsuri tapped her fingers rhythmically against the table and watched Kanao work. Then, the best idea popped into her head. She had just been presented with an opportunity to learn more about Shinobu through one of her sisters! In an attempt to look casual, Mitsuri leaned over the counter.
“So Kanao-chan, what’s it like having Shinobu-san as a sister?” She asked.
“Good.” Kanao replied simply.
“Ah, good.” Mitsuri deflated a little. She was hoping for a little more, but it was a start.
“Any examples? What makes Shinobu-san good?”
Kanao put her vegetables in a pan lightly drizzled with oil and mixed them as the sizzled.
“Nee-san is clean and orderly. She is good at explaining things and helping people and makes me feel safe.”
It was almost enough to make Mitsuri squee with delight. Kanao made Shinobu sound so princely and put together.
“That’s nice, you must really look up to her then. I hope I can grow to be as close to your sister as you are.”
Kanao nodded slightly, watching the vegetables closely and stirring them up on occasion.
“I’m home! It smells great in here!” A voice called from the front entrance. “Oh? Either Shinobu developed a more colorful fashion sense or we have a guest.”
A few moments later, Kanae emerged from the hall and smiled kindly at Mitsuri, “Hello there, a friend of Shinobu’s perhaps? You look familiar.”
“Hi, yes, I’m Kanroji Mitsuri. I’m a year older than Shinobu, I was a first year when you were a third year.”
“Ah, I remember now! It’s good to see you Kanroji-san. I’d tell you to make yourself at home, but it appears Shinobu has become a better hostess in my absence.” Kanae said, motioning to Mitsuri’s state of dress.
“Oh yes, this! I was walking Shinobu-san home and had a little mishap and got wet.” Mitsuri vaguely explained.
Kanae laughed as she maneuvered around the counter to stand behind Kanao and patted her head, making the younger girl smile just a tiny bit.
“Yes, it’s raining quite terribly out there isn’t it? I could hardly see driving home. You’ll be staying the night won’t you? It’s much too dangerous to be out and about.”
“I wouldn’t want to impose!” Mitsuri shook her head.
“You wouldn’t be, I promise. I insist you stay the night. Do you need to borrow a phone to call your parents?”
“That’s alright, I can text them. Thank you.”
“No problem!”
After a quick back and forth with her mom, she was all set. She only hoped Shinobu wouldn’t mind her staying over. The girl definitely seemed the type to cherish her personal space.
Mitsuri turned her attention back to the two sisters, watching them cook together. She offered up her own hand and joined in on the work easily meshing personalities with Kanae and conversing as they made the food.
It’s nice to see Shinobu bring a friend home.” Kanae smiled. “She usually likes to compartmentalize school, sports, and her home life and doesn’t tolerate much mixing.”
“It was kind of my fault.” Mitsuri said sheepishly. “I didn’t give her much choice in the matter. I wanted to get to know her better but instead I face planted in the sidewalk. I think she would have liked to be left alone.”
“Trust me, if Shinobu thought you deserved to be left out there she wouldn’t have even turned around as bad as that may sound. Shinobu is strict and grumpy, but can also be very kind and gentle. She knows how to push people to be better but also knows when they are struggling and need a softer touch. She’s a pretty good judge of character too so she must think highly of you. Don’t worry about it too much, okay?” Kanae explained.
Mitsuri smiled and nodded, looking into her cup of water as her head spun with the eldest Kochou’s words. Shinobu thought she was good!
“Welcome home, Nee-san.” Shinobu appeared from the hallway and made Mitsuri jump in her seat.
“Shinobu, I love your friend! You should invite Mitsuri-chan over more often!” Kanae said, setting out the food.
Shinobu ruffled her hair with the towel she had draped over her shoulders and made a noncommittal noise that made her sister giggle. Mitsuri barely registered what was going on around her, too busy admiring the disarray of Shinobu’s usually perfectly made hair and how Mitsuri could see the toned shape of Shinobu’s legs through her leggings and how cute she looked in that oversized cross country hoodie that seemed to swallow her up. It was all a stark contrast to how she presented herself at school and Mitsuri wanted to burn the image into her mind forever.
The four girls sat together and ate dinner. Kanae and Mitsuri held up most of the conversation but it was light and comfortable. Mitsuri nearly swooned when Shinobu filled her plate with second and third helpings for her, cutting off her internal dilemma before it really started.
Then they cleaned everything up and as the thunder crashed especially loud and the rain tapped furiously on the windows, the girls sat around the living room and worked on their homework. Shinobu had already finished hers while she was at the library so she paged through some enrichment texts about botany and medicine. Occasionally helping Kanao with her homework before diving right back into her book.
Mitsuri was beyond impressed with Shinobu’s academic mind. She knew the girl was smart, but reading such heavy texts for fun? Mitsuri was amazed! She was a good student herself, often surprising her more shallow peers with her knowledge and skill, but Shinobu was definitely on another level. It made Mitsuri a bit envious of Kanao, being able to check in with Shinobu whenever she had a question. Mitsuri looked back down at her biology homework before flicking her eyes back to Shinobu lounging on the couch with her book. Maybe...
“Shinobu-san?” Mitsuri tentatively asked. “Do you think you could check my work on this?”
“We’re in different years, Kanroji-senpai. I don’t know what you’re learning.” Shinobu said, not unkindly.
“I’m sure you already understand it. You seem to love the sciences Shinobu-san. Take a look, please?” Mitsuri tilted her head and batted her eyes.
Shinobu seemed to mull it over and then marked her page. Mitsuri golf clapped and bounced in her seat as the Kouhai walked over and sat next to her at the table, peering at her work. A small, pleased smile worked its way on Shinobu’s face as she realized that she new the material and it made Mitsuri smile in turn.
Shinobu looked through Mitsuri’s work and helped correct a few minor mistakes, but otherwise her work was spot on. Which Mitsuri found a tad unfortunate since Shinobu would get closer and bump arms with her and the wisteria scent would swirl through her head whenever she noticed an error.
Before long, all homework was completed and they watched a little tv before deciding they needed to turn in for the night and get ready for school the next day.
“Shinobu, you should help Mitsuri-chan make sure her knees didn’t get any debris stuck in them from that nasty tumble I heard about. I’ll set up the extra futon in your room while you do that.” Kanae said, already walking off before her sister could interject.
“Fine.” Shinobu muttered anyway, leading Mitsuri back to the bathroom and motioning her to sit up on the sink so she could better see the grazed knees.
The shower had already cleaned them off well enough, but a bit of antibacterial spray wouldn’t hurt. Shinobu took the spray from the cupboard and showed it to Mitsuri.
“You’re knees look clean, but if you want me to give them a spray of this, I can.”
Mitsuri was a bit wary. The spray was sure to sting, but being cared for by Shinobu like this made her heart flutter pleasantly.
“I wouldn’t mind a spray, thank you.”
“Sure.” Shinobu shrugged, popping the cap and spraying both of Mitsuri’s knees without a second thought.
“Ow!” Mitsuri whined. The spray really did sting.
“Sorry, I probably should have warned you.” Shinobu said, looking genuinely contrite. “Here, let me just—“ Shinobu cut herself off, blowing a gentle breeze over Mitsuri’s knees, cooling the stinging sensation.
Mitsuri was suddenly brought back to another memory that felt like it was not quite all her own. Her hand cupped in another’s as a gentle wind blew over scraped knuckles, the scent of wisteria growing stronger for a moment before she blinked and was back in Shinobu’s bathroom again.
After a moment Shinobu cleared her throat and returned to her full height, capping the spray and putting it back in its place.
“Well, better get to bed now I guess.” She said, hardly waiting for Mitsuri to follow her to her room. They said goodnight to Kanae and Kanao before shutting themselves in.
Mitsuri watched Shinobu climb into her futon, mouth slightly agape. She could hardly believe the girl wanted to go to sleep right now with all the weird visions they were experiencing. She simply had to voice this now.
“Shinobu-san, don’t you think we should talk about these weird visions we’ve been having? I can tell, you see them too, don’t you?”
“I don’t think it’s anything significant. Just hope they aren’t hallucinations brought on by being out in the rain too long. I’d hate to be sick.” Shinobu said, curling up in her futon.
“But— it’s so specific! It’s got to be more than that, right?” Mitsuri said in return.
“I don’t believe so.”
Mitsuri couldn’t believe Shinobu was ready to dismiss this all so quickly, she looked down at the hoodie she was wearing and got an idea.
“These shorts aren’t yours, but this is your sweatshirt though, isn’t it Shinobu-san?”
“Yeah.” Shinobu answered, peering up at Mitsuri inquisitively.
“You know how I can tell?”
“Because it says track and field across the front?” Shinobu asked with a bit of sass.
“No!” Mitsuri crossed her arms, “It’s because it has this wisteria scent to it when I smelled it, I had another one of those visions! I think we have a real connection Shinobu-san!”
“Hm.” Was all Shinobu could bring herself to say on the matter which made Mitsuri frown cutely.
“Shinobu-san, don’t you want to try to figure this out?”
“Not particularly. I honestly don’t think there is anything to figure out,” Shinobu flipped over, snuggling further into her covers, “I’d like to go to sleep now, I’ve got early morning practice tomorrow. Good night, Kanroji-senpai.”
“You should call me Mitsuri now. Your sisters picked it up so easily! I won’t go to bed until I hear you say it!” Mitsuri huffed, expecting Shinobu to try to hold out all night but was very surprised.
“Go to bed, Mitsuri.” Shinobu’s muffled voice called from under the covers, making Mitsuri squee with unrestrained joy.
“This is great! Hey, can I call you Shinobu-chan now maybe? Hm?”
“I don’t care.”
“Okay Shinobu-chan, prepare yourself because starting tomorrow, I’m going to figure out what this connection we have between us is!”
Mitsuri didn’t get another reply, but she didn’t mind. She snuggled into her futon and closed her eyes, thanking the quieting storm for giving her this opportunity.

growing up a princess was already hard to begin with, but being the younger sister to the nation’s favourite royal was even worse. constantly being in her shadow, being ignored by parents and just being blindly spoiled. you were lucky, you could get whatever you wanted except for your parent’s own attention and affection.
ever since you turned the age of ten, you were quick to notice that you weren’t your parent’s favorite so you would try and do whatever you could to be the star in their eyes. you trained everyday in order to improve your water bending, your warrior skills, just anything that could make you stand out and get your parents to notice you more. but alas, you weren’t the crown princess, the most beautiful girl in the northern water tribe.
it came to a point where, around your fifteenth birthday, you were starting to loose motivation for things in general. all of your work had payed off, you had mastered every healing form and had even gotten secret lessons from local boys trying to use you to get to yue, you had everything you could want except for the one thing you desperately needed. so you started isolating yourself a bit more, the rest of the nation forgetting about you even more.
your isolation changed when you heard of the avatar having arrived in your tribe and suddenly, you desperately wanted to get to know them. if you befriended the avatar and even joined him on his voyage, you might just finally get your parent’s stamp of approval. it was the first thing in months to give you any sort of motivation.
during the dinner that your dad threw for the guests and to honour your sister’s birthday, you had managed to find a spot next to the southern watertribe girl and you two hit it off immediately. bonding over shared experiences as younger siblings.
“yeah it does hurt a bit to have practically mastered all your water bending forms and not get a congratulations from your parents.” was your comment as the two of you spoke about sometimes feeing as thought you’re living in your older sibling’s shadow. what you said seemed to have done something to the girl who’s name you learned was katara.
“you’re a waterbender?” she asked bewildered. her eyes looking at you with excitement and wonder.
“yeah, one of the best in the tribe if i do say so myself.” you joked lightly, a bit confused at her tone.
“i’m a waterbender too! do you think you could teach me a few things?” she excitedly asked, a huge grin on her face. you nodded and finished swallowing your pickled fish that had been prepared by the best chefs in town.
“i mean sure but i’m not sure what i could teach you. i’m basically a master but i wouldn’t say that i’m too far ahead from other people my age.” you responded, explaining to the girl from your sister tribe that you may not be able to teach her much.
“oh, where i come from, i’m the last waterbender. so i’ve never had any actual training.” her gaze averted from yours and you instantly regretted what you said, feeling horrible at your assumption. you were used to being surrounded by waterbenders and had no idea what she must’ve been going through.
“i’m so sorry, i shouldn’t have said that. if you need anyone to show you some water bending forms, i’m more than happy to. but i’m sure you’ll get more from master yagoda.” you searched for her hand and gave it a little squeeze, she turned her head to smile at you which you returned a comforting one back.
“why not master paku?” she inquired, slightly confused at not hearing the name of the respected master she had heard about at one point during the dinner.
“master paku teaches warrior waterbending skills, girls aren’t allowed to learn those techniques, only healing.” you explained, gaze faltering slightly. you hated your tribe’s costume which is why you always tried to rebel in your own way, but she didn’t need to know that yet.
“why? that’s stupid!” she exclaimed, removing her hand from yours to hit her closed fists on the table in annoyance, thankfully not drawing any attention.
“i know! but it’s tradition and the old farts who control this town hate breaking tradition, even my father won’t break it for me!” you explained, giving a small glance to your father who spoke to one of his councilmen.
“maybe he’ll change his mind if i’m with the avatar! we might even convince him to train you!” she suggested, optimism laced in her words but you simply shrugged your shoulders.
“you can try but i wouldn’t get your hopes up. if you do though, make sure to come get me.” you blankly responded, not wanting to give her any false sense of joy.
the rest of the dinner went by nicely, her telling stories about her adventure with the avatar and her brother, who’s name you learned to be sokka. he even inserted himself in the conversation once or twice, making you laugh at his comments. the night had to end eventually, and for yue and yourself, it meant you two have to leave before the party ended.
“y/n, i think i may have a problem.” yue nervously started when you were both alone. “that southern water tribe boy, he.”
“he’s hilarious?” you finished her sentence, a knowing smile on your lips.
“yeah, and i’m scared i might be catching feelings for him. he even suggested to do something together.” she explained, hand grabbing yours nervously, looking to you for advice on what she should do. no matter how much your parents favoured yue on every way, there was so way you could ever hate her or hold your parents’ doings against her.
“oh come on yue, talking to him won’t hurt you. if anything, not talking to him will hurt him.” you joked, placing your hand on top of hers to give more weight to your words.
“i suppose so.” she smiled, most likely thinking about him and the way he made her feel. your smirk never left your face as you watched the way he made her feel.
the next day, you ran into katara and aang as they went to visit master paku to try and convince him to train the both of them. you were going on a simple walk, hoping to run into them.
“y/n, want to come with us to master paku?” katara immediately asked once you were in proximity to the tow of them.
“not sure you’ll be able to convince them but i’d love to either way.” you smiled, waving hello to the avatar.
“well we’re going to try.” aang backed up katara’s optimism which was slightly sad to see as you knew the ending, you had experienced it yourself.
and like you predicted, their attempt to get the old master to go against outdated traditions proved useless. it ended in katara yelling at his misogynistic attitude and giving up to go sit in on a healing session. you decided to join her, knowing it was useless to you but it was nice to a get a refresher nonetheless.
once it ended, you were left to deal with an annoyed katara as aang was still training. you admired her for standing up to him, wishing you had the confidence that she had but you had given up fighting traditions a long time ago when you realised it was useless.
“listen, i’m sorry katara. if you want though, i can show you around town.” you tried to cheer her up but she seemed to agree with no enthusiasm.
during your tour, you made sure to give as many details as you could to the girl from your sister tribe but it didn’t do much to make her smile. her attitude did change though when the both of you ran into her older brother, a lovestruck emotion on his face which immediately led you to conclude he had seen your sister, and you were right.
“we’re meeting tonight at the same bridge we saw each other! yue and i!” was the first he said when he approached the two of you, more directed to his sister.
“really sokka? that’s great!” katara’s mood seemed to change to happiness for her brother. she then turned to you, surprisingly. “you know, maybe yue said something to y/n. did she?”
“why would yue tell her something?” sokka stopped you from answering, taking you slightly aback. his rather none accusing question hurt you more than you’d care to admit.
“i beg your pardon?” you were slightly offended at his question, more hurt but that wasn’t the tone that you wanted to show, knowing that showing hurt was more of a weakness than anything. at least in your household, your parents only seemed to notice your negative attitude when it came out. a comment made by a schoolmate hurt you and when you came home crying, you were simply neglected as yue had come home earlier and your parents were engrossed in her story. you had tried to come to them but were simply ignored. since then, you’ve only ever shown emotions theyd deem negative to your sister.
“sokka, you met her last night. she’s the second princess of the northern water tribe!” katara harshly whispered as you calmed yourself down, making a mental note to thank your new friend.
“yue has a sister? what did she say about me?” his confusion turned to excitement as he practically rushed into your face, too close for your liking.
“yes, and what do you think you’ll get out of me?” you smirked slightly, putting your hand on his chest to push him out of your face.
“i don’t know, what does a princess need?” he questioned. letting your hand linger before you dropped it.
“warrior training.” katara observed as you narrowed your eyes, the smirk still on your lips as you surprised the rather bold boy.
“why would you need warrior training?”
“because, i want to. my father refuses to let me train but i’ve found ways. yue told me you’re supposedly the best warrior in your village and i want some.” you defied his expectations, he assumed you’d probably be drastically different from your sister in a bad way but he was wrong.
“deal, you tell me what yue thinks of me and i’ll teach you a couple of things i know.” he was quick to agree, willing to do anything to know what the crown princess thought of him. you took your hand out to shake on it and he did, both of you looking each other in the eyes in defiance, hands lingering in each other’s grip.
katara giggled at the interaction which brought the two of you out of your stare and let go of each other’s hands.
“i’ll see you tomorrow, hopefully yue will tell me more after your little rendezvous today.” you told him before turning your attention back to katara, seeing as though she was with her brother now, she’d be fine on her own. “i’ll see you tomorrow around the healing hut early tomorrow?”
she nodded before you waved the two of them goodbye and walked back towards the palace, looking forward to your first session with sokka.
the next day was pretty eventful, finding out that katara and aang had gone against paku’s rules, meaning that he refused to continue raining the avatar. you found out right before leaving for the session with yagoda and decided to stick around when katara defied him. and by the end of that whole fiasco, she was able to convince him to let her train with him.
after that happened, you immediately went to your father to beg him to let you join paku’s clas but you were met with a wall.
“absolutely not, the times may be changing but i’d rather none of my daughters do anything too dangerous. you still need to finish mastering healing.” was his response, leaving you in complete disbelief. you had mastered every healing form a couple of months ago and he didn’t know.
yue tried to comfort you but you ignored him, deciding to walk around town to calm down. you knew that if yue was the waterbender, she’d be able to do whatever she wanted. even if she was their fragile little girl.
the day went by rather fast, and before you knew it, you were following katara in secret to watch the first ever girl receive training from a master in the northern water tribe. you made sure to not make your presence too noticeable, even if the majority of people didn’t notice you most of the time. you watched in complete awe of her raw skill, wishing that you were right there next to her, having something to make you stand out from your family.
when the afternoon came, you made your way to where the three of them was staying in order to complete your deal with sokka.
“hey y/n, did you find out anything about yue?” was his greeting which earns a little eye roll from you.
“didn’t she tell you that she was engaged?” you said rather harshly, regretting as you saw him look down sadly. “listen sokka, she can’t love you but she does. she’s tied to our ridiculous customs, i’m sorry.”
“it’s okay.” he took a deep breath in and let it go before meeting your eyes that were soft, matching them with a small smile. “ready to get started?”
“more than ready. my stupid father didn’t want me joining katara today so i need to let out some sort of aggression.” your tone clearly annoyed at your father which confused sokka, yue didn’t seem to have any problems with her parents.
“i don’t know if this is my place to ask, but why do you seem to hate your father so much?” he asked, curious to know.
“this is nothing against my sister, i love her to bits. it’s my parents i have problems with, they just cast me aside. all of their attention has always been on yue, hell everyone in this stupid tribe only cares about yue! i’m supposed to just be unnoticeable according to my parents yet they shame me for not being as special as yue! i mastered every single healing form and i even managed to learn a couple of fighting stances, yet it’s still not enough.” you let yourself go, deciding to dump all of your problems on the poor boy who had to hear your practically yell at the end. “sorry, you probably didn’t want to know all of that.” you joked nervously.
“no, no its okay. i just figured that being yue’s sister would be like the best thing. i mean being royalty makes your life basically perfect and i mean, she’s one of the sweetest girls i’ve ever met!” sokka ranted, not exactly being what you wanted to hear.
“yeah, i have everything i could ever want but my parent’s attention.” you laughed in disbelief at how ridiculous your situation was.
“you know what?” a silence had settle after your uncomfortable laugh but he was the first to speak, excitement in his voice as he voiced the idea in his head. “what if you joined us to defeat the firelord and travel with the avatar? that’s sure to get your parents to notice!”
“you barely know me and i haven’t actually spoken with the avatar, what makes you think that i’d fit your little team?” you were skeptic at his proposition, loving the idea but not being sure he was thinking it through.
“from what katara’s told me, you’d be perfect for us! katara could teach you what she learns with paku on the road, i could teach you what i know and you could be our own healer!” he excitedly thought about the idea of having someone else on his team, even if you weren’t the sibling he fell for, he still took a liking to you after your first conversation.
“well then, come fetch me before you leave. my parents won’t notice me gone so there won’t be any problems.” you concluded, you yourself getting excited at the idea of finally doing something that might make you stand out to your parents.
“great! now let’s get started.” he opened the door, a huge smile on his face.
“if you were at all interested, she thought you were a pretty good kisser.” you added before he could start teaching you any of his skills.

~ Treasure ideal type and what made them fall for you pt 1. (Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Mashiho and Jaehyuk)
Request 1: “ Can you do one of what makes treasure fall for you, like what catches their attention and makes them fall in love with you? “ - anon
Request 2: “  age of s/o (older/younger) and basic description of what they would be like in terms of physically appearance and personality (basically each members idea types lol ) “ - anon
I kept the ‘what makes them fall in love with you’-parts a little shorter since I also have a ‘first time meeting you’-reaction coming up which will go into more detail about what made you stand out to them. Hope you like it and part two will be up as soon as possible! <3 - Nova
Hyunsuk
someone with a calm kind of confidence
who feels just as good about themselves in their PJ’s as in formal attire
but still loves fashion and experimenting with styles just like him
likes it when you’re a little on the quiet side
but only a little
and it’s not shyness, more contentness
you just don’t feel the need to be the center of attention 24/7
and he loves that
it makes you intriguing for some reason
probably someone around his age, max three years younger or older
no specific age-preference actually, maturity isn’t defined by age according to him
as long as your lifestyles and daily rhythm’s match up
does like it if you’re shorter (cries in tallness)
the type of person who isn’t the loudest of a group but still very important for the group’s dynamic
the responsible one
or the group’s personal therapist
basically the older sibling in every group of friends
he’d fall for the relaxing effect your presence has on him
the way you seemed so unbothered but so caring at the same time
you two are basically on the same wave-length
which is a very chill and loving wavelength
lots of warmth
your eyes are his favorite
he mostly feels it when looking in your eyes
but only if you’re looking back
a connection that words will never be able to describe
Jihoon
this is going to sound contradictory
but
someone who’s very cute, bubbly and sweet
but also ready to fight 24/7
doesn’t take shit from anyone
someone he can gush over with squishable vibes
but who also teases him back just as hard when necessary
‘cause even though he loves teasing you and pushing your buttons
he loves it ten times more when you have a strong comeback and leave him speechless
he also adores ambitions and passions
the best way to keep him quiet is rambling about something you’re passionate about
he’ll just hearteye until you’re done
also values trust a whole lot
so wouldn’t like someone who gets jealous easily
age-wise he likes someone the same age or younger
likes a simple but colorful style
with an occasional elegant touch
a style that consists of pretty basic pieces but it still looks very put together
he falls for your laugh
which might be cliché as hell
but idc, it’s true
and not your soft giggle on the first date as you hide behind your hand
no no
it’s the roaring laugh that seems like it’s coming from you big toe
the one that makes you repeatedly slap either him or your knee
that laugh
the one that only comes out when it’s just the two of you
or when you’ve had one drink too many in a full restaurant making everyone turn around
either way
he knows when he hears that laugh you’re 100% comfortable
so it’s his aim whenever he’s with you
Yoshi
someone gentle and on the quiet side around strangers
the type of person who doesn’t stand out in a group
but when you’re alone with them it’s magical
there’s a whole world of observations and imagination hidden behind those eyes
someone he can talk to for hours upon hours
preferably while they lazily play with his fingers
someone with a soft warm voice that feels like home
that’s what he fell for as well
your voice
the way it sounds during those long deep conversations
the way it sounds when your say his name
the way it sounds asking him for help
the way it sounds humming along to the song he put on
even the way it sounded when you squealed, the first time you rode his skateboard
age-wise I’d think someone younger
but not too much, like max two years younger or maybe one year older, something like that
likes someone creative
which is where that wild imagination comes back into play
someone who keeps surprising him
but soft surprises
like he’s unravelling a mystery
the mystery being what’s going on in that beautiful head of yours
so happy he gets to experience a glimpse of your view of the world
Junkyu
ngl, this is a difficult one for me
my first thought was someone similar to him
but now that I’m thinking about it that might not be the case
I think it’s someone who keeps him on his toes
who challenges him
he seems like the type of person who gets bored pretty easily
when it comes to dating and love-interests that is
don’t get me wrong, he’s hella loyal
it just takes a lot for him to fall in love in the first place
he likes someone unique
someone with their own way of doing things
who doesn’t just follow the crowd
and questions things others see as a fact
he wants a type of love that could’ve been written by the best author
something that makes his heart pound unlike anything has before
he’s looking for someone who values him
who notices things about him that he didn’t even notice himself
age-wise he tends to lean towards someone older but doesn’t care that much
he falls for a specific look in your eyes
it’s hard to describe
you give him this look when your suggesting something extraordinary
a look that makes him feel like he’s about to go on the biggest adventure of his life
a look that promises you’ll be with him every step of the way on that adventure
a look you give him when you ask him a daring question
or make a controversial statement to see his reaction
it makes him blink a few times
processing how you could have such a big effect on him
Mashiho
a cutie
that’s it
just a cutie
easygoing and chill
shy around strangers
a little louder around the members
soft and giggly around him
someone who brings out the gentleman in him
feminine but in a comfy cozy way
basically sweaterpaws but in human form
bubbly and excited about little things
someone who’s hand fits just right in his
someone who sings loudly out of tune while doing chores
but sings softly and angelic when focused on homework
he seems quite romantic, he would like someone who gives that back
that feeling of appreciation
he falls for your smile
all different kinds of it
when the corners of your mouth only curl up slightly because you try not to laugh at his lame joke
when your gums basically show from how bright your smiling, listening to him tell stories
when you smile softly as you look away, a red tint on your cheeks, after he compliments you
when you hum in content after pulling him in for cuddles in your sleep
seeing you happy is his favorite thing in the world
Jaehyuk
our uwu gentleman
likes someone traditionally feminine
with a fresh type of elegance
someone he has mad respect for
and who he can imagine himself getting old with
like from day one, you gotta be wifey-material
someone who looks casually sophisticated
takes care of herself and it shows
someone affectionate
the more the better
little kisses here and there
intertwined pinky-fingers
that kinda stuff
someone who’s good with kids
because wifey-material equals mom-material in his eyes
agewise again someone around his age
with the same morals and values
he falls for your mannerisms
the way you move
it looks so delicate
as if your flowing through air
which also explains why he held you like you were made of glass the first few times he hugged you

tw: bullying, alcohol and drug use.
Avery Holbrook was one out three of the youngest Holbrook generation to carry on its legacy, created by his father’s side of the family and boosted by his mother, the current Mayor of New York City. New York City was their base of operation and more sentimentally, their home. While Avery has some qualities that make him ‘a worthy’ Holbrook -as his parents would describe it- he was quite aware in what he was lacking, also thanks to his parents. For as long as he could remember, he was part of a circus, growing up with parents who’d put on an act wherever they went. But when at home and that mask came off, Avery was met with nothing but impatience and coldness. He had always been an observing and curious child, having a talent for seeing patterns and logic that others did not. It was this same quality, which defined him, that also crippled him emotionally. Seeing his paretns switch from hot to cold (namely towards him and his siblings) brought confusion and a distorted view on emotions. Ironically, it was one of the few patterns he did see.
Despite his upbringing and the downsides it gave him, it wasn’t all dark, gloomy and depressing. Avery has more than his fair share of good memories. He found happiness in science and technology, went on amazing vacations with at least one parent and got great opportunities. While not excelling at making emotional connections, Avery did have a group of decent friends growing up, consisting of all kinds of people but with parents that ran in the same circles. It ranged from the rebellious rich kids to the uptight mini versions of their parents. It was a semi-safe place, to rant, to dream, to experiment: everything that was not allowed to do within the home he (and they) grew up in. The group, however, split up more than once after one half fought with the other over the latest drama.
The group split indefinitely, after two guys were arrested for harrassment and arson in his senior year of high school. Avery and the others were included in the scandal as well, though not to the same degree. During a party at one of their houses, a fellow student was lured to their party. The student was a lonely girl and never managed to quite click with others at the school, no matter her efforts. A few people from the group, who were under the influence of alcohol and some soft drugs, thought it would be funny to invite and prank her. Needless to say that when Avery (who was elected to invite her), texter her to come over, she jumped at the chance of making some friends. What seemed like only a slightly cruel but funny prank at the time, quickly escalated when more alcohol and drugs had come into play. The two guys made humuliated her and bullied her in front of everyone and topped it off by setting her car on fire. Avery was petrified when it all went down, not knowing what to do next.
Luckily one of the others called the police and arrived soon. Because Avery was the one who sent the invite, he too had been taken to the station where he quickly met by his mother in her capacity as lawyer. She didn’t say a word to him, rather focused all her efforts into proving he was not a part of it. Avery felt horrible about it, yet made it look like there wasn’t much going on in his mind. Angelina managed to convince them that his true involvement was limited to the invite and they were quickly on their way. Avery persistantly tried to apologize to his mother, but he got little response. He was not sure if it was the disappointment of being involved with something so horrible or the disappointment of almost ruining their good name.
After an especially depressing summer due to the never-again-spoken-of incident, University was the fresh start he needed. It was where Avery not only developped his intellect, but his identity as well. He moved out of his parents house and felt a bit lost without his mother’s overbearing guidance, even though he initially thought he would be glad to be rid of it. Thankfully, he was once he had settled into his own routines. Now the only times he dealt with his parents, was when his mother, an esteemed alumni, gave speeches or whenever he was necessary as a prop for whatever campaign they were running at the moment. His new friends were good people and care little about his background and were more impressed with his own achievements in classes and on exams. Among this group of friends also was a guy who later turned out to be his first great love. He was like the Yin to his Yang and taught Avery what it was like to feel real love and the warmth of honest emotions.
— PRESENT
The couple flourished on together, getting their degrees, Avery coming out to his parents and siblings, moving in together, going on vacation, joining family affairs (not the official capacities) and even proposing. It all seemed to be going great in Avery’s eyes. However, the shift started when Avery began as an independant consultant and started putting more and more hours in his business, leaving little time for his fiance. Avery had never been the biggest talker, so the lack of meaningful communication eventually killed the spark. Avery hadn’t seen it coming at all, thinking it was going great. They were attending parties at his moms invitation, they smiled and waved for the pictures and basically did everything like his parents did. It was later pointed out by his sisters that it wasn’t a good thing that he had modeled his relationship after his parents’, not unless you were power couple. Heartbroken (internally), his mother seized the opportunity of using his talents by offering him a job working for her at the mayor’s office, which felt like a way of showing her appreciation and Avery gladly accepted.
— WANTED CONNECTIONS / PLOTS
Father (see wanted connection by Angelina Holbrook)
THE GROUP: Avery has left his high school years completely behind, most of all the people in the group who were a part of the unspoken event. Running into one of them would be great and interesting: it could be one of the others who, like Avery, had a more passive role and share the feeling of guilt, but it could also be a much darker person from the group. BESTIE: Everyone needs a partner in crime and definitely true for Avery. He’s a bit of an uptight man and I’d be very interested to see him with a best friend who he isn’t necessarily so uptight with! EX-FIANCE (male): Avery’s been dumped by his fiance not too long ago. That in itself is an interesting journey to figure out why and how and what their interactions are like at present (if at all). Avery isn’t quite sure how it came to be, but then again, he wasn’t the most present partner. (male, 28-30 years old)
(FAMILY OF) THE VICTIM (gang member): One of the darkest things that Avery had been a part of, was the bullying of the girl at the party. While his involvement was not meant to lead to what happened and he didn’t participate in the actual bullying, he still feels incredible guilty when and if he thinks about it (he’s a wonderful compartmentalizer). It would be really interesting to see Avery meet the victim again, or family of the victim who turn out to be part of one New York’s infamous gangs!
MORE TO COME!
