A little bit of me over-analyzing Nevra :) again

Something I've noticed about Nev in New era is that almost every time he is giving orders, he uses expressions like "I suggest…" "If everyone agrees…" "If it's okay with you…" and is open to new ideas and suggestions, which… I love of him.

I wasn't sure whether he did it just to give the people he's commanding a false sense of control and keep them appeased or bc he genuinely is being considerate, but now I'm inclined to say it's genuine. Because!! hear me out!! the moments when there is really no other choice he never asks for anyone's permission. He can be quite assertive like that. (Like when Erika complained he hadn't asked her opinion on flying on dragon back and he goes something like "Because I didn't ask lol. You just have to.")

Me: I don't know what to do with Veronica's character in post s8 au, I don't want her to be Just Lance's sister and Kuron's friend with Pidge's storyline slapped on her, but also I'm not really sure about her character. Sure there's the whole lying to her family thing but I don't think that's enough?

Brain: ok so what if Veronica started out as trying to look for what was Lance upto but she ends up being so obsessed with finding the truth that not only she repeatedly puts herself in harms way but also the original goal falls on wayside.

This could be her way of dealing with trauma which is getting engrossed in the Mission and a problem to fix while suppressing her grief and refusing to actually acknowledge her problems and her own emotions a foil to Kuron's arc that is him being literally driven by emotions. She's angry at Lance for leaving without a word and angry at her family for their clinginess, however she keeps it to herself and just avoid them pretending everything is fine and normal

Also a foil to Lance who started as trying to figure out what was going on but as soon as he realized that 1) Allura and Kuron are still sorta alive 2) he can bring them back, he got obsessed with it consequences by damned.

Plus through her we can actually explore how quintessence actually effects and changes humans rather than become aware of the end result

Also there's something a character who is obsessed with truth but is also such a frequent liar

Keith watched on with amusement as Lance fussed at the holo-TV, trying desperately to get the subtitles to play despite the fact that they did not offer and Terran subtitles and would therefore be useless. (‘They help me hear better!’ ‘Lance, babe, you can’t even read them.’ ‘Who am I to argue with my ears? If they hear better with subtitles, they hear better with subtitles!’ ‘…Can’t argue with that.’)

“Lance,” he complained, “hurry up and come sit down. I miss my bony weighted blanket.”

Lance, who had finally gotten the subtitles on, (in what looked to be Arusian) huffed snootily. “If that’s all I am to you, then you can sit by yourself,” he said, sitting primly on the other edge of the couch.

Keith pouted. “Baby,” he tried, but Lance pointedly ignored him. After a few moments of stubbornly sitting as far away as possible, Lance began to shiver. Keith smirked. As much as Lance liked to huff and puff and pretend to be annoyed when Keith teased him, he could never stay away long enough for Keith to feel any consequences, because Lance seemingly could not thermoregulate. It took that boy a maximum of five minutes in any situation to get cold, and Keith was his personal furnace. Keith reclined back onto the couch, still smirking. He wouldn’t even have to say anything.

A few more minutes, and he was proven correct: Lance crawled along the couch, settling in between Keith’s open legs and leaning on his chest. He manhandled Keith’s arms so one was around his waist and one was in his hair. He was scowling, but Keith knew his well enough to see the amusement in his eyes. Lance enjoyed their dumb little games as much as he did (there were always bonus points when they pulled shit like this in front of the team, who recognized it for the flirting that it was and were disgusted every time. It was hilarious).

As soon as he was settled, Keith pressed a quick kiss to the back Lance’s head, tightened the grip around his waist, and began running his fingers through Lance’s hair in the way he knew made his boyfriend all melty.

“…This does not mean you won,” Lance announced after a period of silence.

Keith huffed a light laugh. “Okay, baby. Whatever you say.”

The smile was audible in Lance’s voice. “Don’t patronize me, Mullet.” Keith smiled and continued playing with Lance’s hair as the movie played on. Truthfully, he wasn’t paying much attention to the film, just enjoying spending time with his boyfriend. His fingers ran along a long scar on the back of Lance’s head, and he paused. He knew the scar was there, he felt it every time he touched Lance’s head, but he truly did not know where it came from. He knew the origins for most of Lance’s other scars, as he was present for most of them, but this one eluded him.

“How’d you get this scar?” he asked after a moment of contemplation.

“Hm?” responded Lance absentmindedly. “What scar?”

Keith traced over it again, tapping it lightly. “This one, on the back of your head.”

“Oh, I tripped over a fish when I was little.”

Keith froze, brows furrowed. He was utterly flummoxed, to be honest.

“You… tripped… on a fish?” he asked slowly. He knew English was, like, Lance’s fourth language. Maybe that was an expression that wasn’t translated well?

Lance hummed an affirmative. “I was playing in the… I don’t remember the English word. The shallow end of the ocean. Where you can still stand.”

“I think it’s called the surf? Maybe?”

Lance made a face. “I thought that was just the sport. Huh.” He shook his head. “Doesn’t matter. Anyways. I was playing in the surf with my siblings, we were throwing a ball around. My siblings are all bigger than me, and sometimes they forgot that, so they kept throwing it too far and I would try to run backwards and catch it anyway. Since I was running backwards, I wasn’t really watching where I was going, and I tripped over a stupid fucking Goliath Grouper.” Lance scowls. “I don’t know what the dumbass thing was doing in the shallow waters, but it was there and they’re too dumb to be scared of humans, so I tripped right over the stupid thing and cracked my head open on a rock! My mom thought I died. Luckily for everyone I am very hardy, so they glued my head back together with no brain damage! But yeah. I firmly blame the stupid Grouper.”

Keith sits in stunned silence for a few seconds before bursting into laughter. The force of it makes Lance bounce where he’s resting on his chest. Lance giggles along with him.

“You really tripped on a fish,” he chokes out. “God, baby, only you.”

In the first picture Zagreus is shorter than Persephone because he is standing one step below, he is still the youngest member of the family and barely stepping into his role on the house as Prince. He is supperposed with the image of his parents gazing lovingly into each other, he is integrated with his figures but still feels like slightly distanced from them, like a teenager trying to find the way they present themselves. After seeing him the whole game with other clothes it feels weird to see him wearing that tunic and his lance is comically big.

In the second picture he is taller than his mom and almost at the same level as his father, he is being embraced by him but his head points out from Hades's shoulder, he is fully integrated into the family but is also respected and acknowledged by all the gods as the one who reunited them. He mimics the posture of both his mother and father, leaning over Melinoë (bathing in her light) and embracing her with his hand (ready to protect her). His elegant clothes fit him and resemble the style of the Palace, even without his crown you recognise him as a Prince of Hades.

He grew up so much between this games. Probably embraced his role as a protector of the underworld population. Seems comfortable wearing his father clothes, he holds himself with authority, he earned respect in his realm. He became an adult. He loved his little sister, look at how his gazed is fixed on her, his smile might be even bigger than the one on his mother.

Hades looks peaceful and calm, he is probably smiling too. Persephone is wearing a light dress, similar to the ones she wore on the surface, without obligations. She wrapped her daughter with a shawl like the ones she used to wear. They are all dressed without their "royal" outfits. Before being the underworld rulers, they are a family welcoming a baby. They loved Melinoë so much. They would have devoted their lives to her until she was old enough to stand on her own. They would have given her all of the time of the day. They were ready to do things right this time.

“Guys, have you seen y/n?” Lance panics, rushing into the McLaren garage. It’s not the first time his girlfriend had disappeared from her garage but he’s always been able to find you a few steps away.

“She’s missing?” Lando leaped out of his chair. “Come on, Oscar, we gotta find her,” Lando drags his teammate out of the garage, following Lance to the Mercedes garage to find George.

“Any y/n sightings?” a very stressed out Lance asks.

“No, but now I am invested,” the Brit tags along in the search, hopping over to the Ferrari garage.

“Mes amis, you seem stressed,” Charles says, looking up from his book.

“Y/n is missing, Lance can’t find his girlfriend,” Oscar sighs, not sure why he isn’t leaving the group.

“No, we must join the quest, Charles,” Carlos says, clapping his teammate on the shoulder.

“Alright, only for y/n,” Charles, like oscar, begrudgingly agrees to join the ‘noble quest’.

Meanwhile, y/n is sitting on the couch, wearing a chunky cardigan and a pair of fashion glasses, sipping tea.

“No, Lizzy was clearly in love with Darcy even then,” Fernando waves his hands. This month’s book was Pride and Prejudice.

“Sure, Fernando,” Valtteri rolls his eyes.

The book club, affectionately called ‘The Old Drivers Club’ started when y/n barged into the Haas garage, claiming she needed their opinions and that she was tired of all the young drivers. Despite her being only 21, she found a home with some of the older drivers in the Paddock. The club consisted of her, Fernando, Valtteri, Kevin, and Nico. Lewis wanted to hold on to his youth, as he claimed, and Checo didn’t quite care for their gossip sessions.

“I still don’t understand how you can go from a 20 year old party animal to a 80 year old grandma overnight,” Kevin teases the young girl, bringing up a common point of conversation (usually her complaining about the younger drivers).

“And I don’t understand how you all don’t find Nico attractive? If I was ten years older, I would be all over him. God damn, what a fine man,” you swoon, causing the German to blush fiercely.

“Yes, yes, someone who could outshine Charles Leclerc in his prime,” Fernando dismisses it with the wave of his hand. You giggle and refocus on the book discussion.

“Nando,” you prompt him, silently asking him to go to the next topic.

“Alright, alright, let’s discuss what was probably y/n’s favorite scene, the confession scene. The second one, not in the rain,” Fernando says, and you shyly look down, the older drivers knowing you too well.

“Max, Checo, have you seen y/n?” Lance asks, even more flustered, half the grid behind him.

“Y/n? Why do you ask?” Max says, looking at his teammate.

“She’s missing!” Lando exclaims causing Checo to laugh.

“No, no. She’s with her book club, in the Haas motor home. I sometimes join them, interesting gossip, but not quite for me, no,” Checo says, looking oddly at the group.

“Her- her book club?” Lance asks, utterly confused.

“Si. Lewis has been invited too, but he claims he is too young,” Checo laughs to himself.

“Sorry mate, a book club?” George asks, a little offended he was never invited.

“And gossip? I’m a little offended I’ve never been invited,” Pierre gasps.

“Well? Is that all,” Max asks, wanting the group to leave his garage.

“Right, well I guess we go to Haas,” Carlos says, quickly thanking the Red Bull drivers.

“VALTTERI!” Your astonished gasp is heard from outside. Your group had moved on to what some think is the more enjoyable part of the evening, the gossip.

“Y/n! Oh thank god, we were worried sick,” Lando dramatically says at the doorway, having opened the door, revealing your group. The five of you look at the other group wildly confused.

“Worried sick?” You ask, looking at them.

“You were missing, I couldn’t find you,” Lance scratches the back of his neck, a little confused.

“I,” you pause before laughing. “Lancelot, you could’ve texted me,” you tell him.

“Why weren’t Pierre and I invited?” George asks, looking accusingly at your group.

“You don’t fit the criteria,” Kevin says, dismissing the question.

“And y/n does?” Pierre asks.

“Yes. When she sits upside down on your couch to gossip and complain about you all, and ask for life advice, then we might consider it,” Nico shakes his head.

“She is the founder of our group,” Valtteri points out.

“You also have to find young Nico attractive, more than current Charles,” Fernando teases, causing the young girl to blush.

“He was!” You defend yourself, and Carlos nods in agreement.

“Your girlfriend, mate. I’m surprisingly glad I tagged along,” Oscar says to Lance, pretty amused at the chaos.

“Out of curiosity, what is your next book?” George asks, your face lighting up.

“We are on a classics kick right now, so we are reading the No Fear version of Romeo and Juliet,” you say excitedly causing George and Charles to groan.

“We can’t join?” Charles asks again.

“Sorry, Leclerc, only room for one hot driver here,” Nico winks at you, causing your cheeks to redden.

“HEY!” most of the drivers in the room take offense to it, Lance mainly because the wink was directed at his girlfriend.

“Alas, if only you didn’t have a wife and kid, and I was ten years older,” you sigh, shaking your head.

“In another life, Mein Liebchen,” Nico sighs as well.

“Alright, I’m stealing back my girlfriend,” Lance pulls you away.

“Lancelot,” you giggle, waving goodbye to your book club.

“It is in these moments that I remember how young she is and how old we are,” Fernando sighs, Lewis taking your seat.

“My bones ache more and more each day, mate,” Lewis shakes his head.

“Welcome to our club, have the first act read by the next race,”

lance_stroll As some of you now, I am not very active on social media. Today I'm making an exception for Y/N, my lovely girlfriend I've been dating for almost a year now. She is one of the greatest, most kind, caring and selfless people I know. I don't know where the idea of our relationship being unhappy, one-sided or even insincere came from, but I would like to make it very clear once and for all that these assumptions are as far from the truth as they can be.

In my life, I experienced a lot of hateful comments and reactions myself. It is not something I wish anyone should have to go through and it's disgusting. I love Y/N with all my heart and I hope that one day, she'll make me the happiest man alive and allows me to marry her, build a family together. No one will ever again speak about her in an inappropriate way, or they'll be blocked and possibly face legal actions taken agains them. I am very serious about this.
