do you have any tips for finding a good therapist? i really want to start therapy but im scared of not clicking or finding a sketchy professional x.x

oh baby i don’t really know how to answer that.. i would say to ask people if they know someone to recommend to you, or else to find someone on the internet but always check out their reviews and stuff... but even that, doesn’t really matter sometimes tbh, my second therapist for example was lowkey famous and rich as Fuck but we still didn’t click AT ALL. even if he was That successful. so one thing is that i guess, try to find someone who is “good” for you, not bc of their high status or whatever. i’m not saying that you have to go to the first person you find!! do your research of course first, but still, practically you can only come to a conclusion when you get to start your sessions. the first step is to the unknown really hah. and then just make sure you completely and utterly feel safe with them. that they listen to you and understand you and they don’t make you feel uncomfortable or judged, not even a tiiiiny bit!!!!!! it may be awkward at first but that's totally expected and it's something you'll work on together. just make sure you don’t push aside any red flags you may see or feel.. bc it may be so tricky to think that 'maybe that's their way or how they work or hey maybe this will pay off somehow for me in the end'. there are many therapists who are literally emotionally abusive or have unethical behaviour in general. if you have any doubts or bad feelings, just search for someone new.. you don't have and mustn't stay in such environment.. so don't settle for just any therapist, keep looking until you find someone who feels right, connects with you and you can form a bond with. it’s actually most likely to try a few first, until you find someone you click with! unless you are lucky enough to find them from the first try. either way it's okay as long as you feel 100% okay! <3

As you sat in the bay window of your shared bedroom with Aether, you lazily turned the pages of the book in your hands. You were curled up, a blanket over your pajama-pant-ridden legs, and many pillows cushioning below and behind you. You read some poetry, hoping it would ignite something in your mind and spark inspiration or something to make you feel better. You groaned as you slammed the book shut. Your stomach was killing you, your back ached, your chest was sore… you just couldn't catch a break. You felt horrible, you had been so drained and lightheaded these last few days that you could swear you were bothering Aether. However, just as you would expect from a sweetheart like him, he treated you spectacularly without a second thought and was never bothered by your condition. 

You looked out the window for a moment, admiring how the sun beamed down onto the leaves and waters of the chapel garden. If you weren't in such a pained state, you were sure you’d be tending to it by now. Unbeknownst to you, Aether had also just gotten out of practice and was on the way back to you. He knocked on the door gently before entering so he wouldn't scare you, then he pushed his way in carefully and greeted you with a smile. He walked over to your comfy spot in the window as you looked at him with adoration.

“Hello, amica mea. I brought you something!” He held up his hands, revealing a mug with steaming tea. He smiled excitedly as he handed it off to you, warning you of the heat. “I made it just minutes ago, be careful.” He spoke softly. 

“Oh, Aeth- thank you, honey. What is this?” You were flattered that he went out of his way to stop in the kitchen and make tea for you, but you knew he would do so much more. He kneeled down to your level, placing a hand on your arm as he looked into your eyes. 

“It’s chamomile tea! It should help with your stomach, your breakouts, and your anxieties. I looked up a good tea for all your symptoms while in the library and that was my conclusion. I hope you like it.” He waited for you to try it, his hand rubbing up and down on your arm in a soothing motion.

You brought the mug to your lips, gently blowing on the tea as you took a sip. You paused for a moment as you took in the taste. “Mmm- that’s not bad at all!” You looked over to Aether, who had the biggest smile on his adorable, maskless face. “Thank you so much, Aeth.” You motioned for him to come closer, and you placed a kiss on his lips as a thank-you. 

“What were you reading?” He questioned as he noticed the book in your lap. 

“Oh, just some poetry. Ya know, to take my mind off of things just a bit.” You explained and used your free hand to place the book in his hands. He examined the cover and flipped through a few pages before looking around the room. 

“Would you like me to possibly read you some? I’d love to… if it would make you happy.” Aether gestured for you to get up and walk over to your shared bed. 

“My dear, you are far too sweet to me… but I would love that.” As soon as you were done speaking, Aether took the tea from your hands and held out his arm for you to grab onto in case you were to stumble from your lightheadedness. He walked you slowly to the bed, being aware of your pains as you went. He placed your tea on your bedside table and tossed the book onto his side of the bed.

“C’mere,” He held out his arms to you. “I haven't hugged you yet, pretty girl.” Your heart warmed as you leaned into his hug, letting his big arms cage you in his safety. You warned him to be gentle and not squeeze you, and he happily obliged. He was happy to be loving on you at all, as he always was. He let you go with a kiss to the forehead and a helping hand under the covers. He got in beside you, letting you cuddle into him as he opened up your book.

Aether reading to you was the sweetest thing. He read softly, pointing out when a certain line reminded him of you. He held you softly with his free arm around your waist. When you wanted another drink, he allowed you to lean away and take a sip before he continued. He was patient, and caring, and oh so warm. As your amount of tea began to dwindle, you noticed how heavy your eyelids began to feel. You started to drift, cuddled into Aether’s chest and feeling the rumble of his voice as he read. He continued to hold you, his big warm hand rubbing your aching back. He looked down at you once he noticed your lack of motion and felt the absence of discomfort in your mood. 

“Awww-” He whispered. “My sweet beauty. Sleep well, you deserve it.” He closed your book and placed it on his nightstand. He leaned into your cuddles, embracing the physical touch that you both loved so much. He wrapped both arms around you, bringing you further into his chest. He would do anything for you. He would take a lecture from Imperator for missing practice or dinner, he would make every tea, read every book, anything. He loves you. And that was all that mattered in that moment.
