At first, it was mutual trust between the two of you that propelled you to where you are today. Bakugo knew you were a hard worker; you took your title seriously, and most importantly—you kicked ass.

Both of you were paired at Best Jeanist Agency back in high school and only spoke here and there. However, when you both made it to the big leagues, you saw each other more often. Due to the familiarity of being around each other years ago, you began to form a strong bond.

And some strong unknown sexual tension...

When you fought side by side, you were an invincible duo, your quirks complementing each other seamlessly. With your somewhat "healthy" communication (besides a snide comment here and there) skills, you both maintained a very business-friendly relationship.

But the both of you easily saw through that.

Of course, both of you noticed the drawn-out gazes, protective hand placements, and the subtle brush of hands during patrols. It wasn't until sooner or later that the media would catch both of you in a rather steamy slip-up.

A star duo was born!

The relationship was embraced positively by both the media and the general public, particularly during interviews.

“So, Mr. Dynamite…how did you know (hero name) was the one for you?” the bright and bubbly interviewer asked.

Harsh florescent lighting, tight hero suits, a raging headache, 3 hours of sleep, and a single cup of coffee was all it took for Bakugo to snap. Which was impressive because the interview passed the five minute mark.

“Look at them and tell me you wouldn’t wanna [REDACTED] them? That’s why, nothing else, nothing more,” the blonde stated matter-of-factly.

A beat of silence washed over the room, the interviewer left speechless, gazing back at the camera with pleading eyes for a live cut.

Turning towards the interviewer with a smile, you shrug your shoulders with a quick motion and nod.

“Yep, I’d agree with him.”

Boom, 10 million views, an increased paycheck, a higher position on the hero chart, and a multitude of sponsors to choose from.

The people loved both of you.

You were raw, unscripted, intense, and caring. What more did the people not want to see?

Your profound connection was evident to everyone. From the way you seamlessly covered each other on missions to the tender hand squeezes and kisses on the cheek, such as when Bakugo accepted an award at the hero gala.

Publicly and privately, the two of you were a power couple, a dynamic force that some found almost too good to be true. Certain individuals, often claiming to be fans, went to great lengths, attempting to psychoanalyze every move in an effort to discredit your relationship as a mere PR stunt.

These obsessive "fans" even went as far as paying a multitude of hidden paparazzi to spy on both of you, desperately trying to unearth a flaw, a hiccup, or a mistake to exploit. However, whenever it seemed like they might succeed, both of you swiftly shut down any rumors with quickness.

[BREAKING] PRO-HERO COUPLE found arguing at MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR HOME

Yikes, the header photo did appear somewhat convincing.

Bakugo was pictured bellowing at the top of his lungs, and the expression you pulled back wasn’t the sweetest. But, of course, context is key.

Soon, you were sat in front of a camera to do an embarrassing PR apology...

“Just making it clear for all you weirdos out there, Dynamite and I were indeed having an argument... and I apologize that you had to witness a grown man getting worked up over discovering that Iceland is, in fact, not a land covered in ice. It's quite the opposite.”

Later transitioning smoothly into another interview, both of you now share a laugh about it. “I had to explain it to him for almost 20 minutes, and he was genuinely upset. Yelling at me like I'm the crazy one!” You chuckled.

Glancing over, you see Bakugo rest his hand on your thigh and let out a chuckle. “Yeah, and I still think you're [REDACTED] wrong.”

“Language!”

Oh, the power couple you were…

I will say, I feel as though most people will know this information but I still wanted to put it out just in case we have new redacted enjoyers or just some who genuinely didn’t know!

Sam: 21:53 -> Erik ended up feeling more comfortable than he thought in terms of using an accent for Sam, and he ended up really liking his character so he decided to just go for it!

* 26:46 Technically, Not EVERYONE, Lives in Dahlia, but he got the name from a murder mystery party that he wrote!

- 35:06 In Erik’s world, Demon Structure doesn’t have the same set up in terms of family, All empathy demons were stated to be Calem’s siblings but not in actuality, they just Coalesce all together.

- [ ] 40:38- Shifters powers do not manifest until puberty! Not kid age, but around teen years, like (maybe 12 or 13 up essentially? maybe?)

here’s my other superhero for the au by @thelunarsystemwrites! [2/2]

Meet Time Kid, a young superhero who loves to help people.

His civilian identity is Sans [REDACTED], a 7th grade student that admires all superheroes and who is fortunate enough to be one. He’s quite the celebrity at his middle school for it.

LORE, STATS, AND MORE:

Sans [REDACTED] was raised a normal kid, but there was one thing that always stood with him, and that was the superheroes in the city. He saw them, flying high, protecting civilians, defeating the bad guys, and he knew that one day, he wanted to be one.

His dad, Gaster, is a scientist. He continuously begged him to make him some sort of superpower, but his pleas didn’t work, as his father insisted it was far too risky. Obviously, being a child, he didn’t take no for an answer. So, he snuck into his dad’s lab, dabbling with his equipment and previous projects. He stumbled across an older experiment, a blue serum on the inside of a fridge labeled in a language he couldn’t understand. He activated the serum with his magic, causing a reaction that broke the glass vial it was contained in and the contents mixing with his own magic. At first, it hurt, burning the inside of his bones, but after a few hours, the stinging sensation went away, and he found a new power— time manipulation.

He hadn’t heard of a real superhero with the ability to manipulate time before, so he was overjoyed when he accidentally made a paper airplane stop in mid air during class. He practiced his magic until he decided it would be safe enough to use in a real situation.

One day, when getting groceries with his dad, he noticed an attack. A supervillain attack, in real time. He didn’t recognize the villain, but he knew he had to help. He dropped the bag he was holding and quickly teleported into the scene, despite his father’s demands for him to stop.

After what seemed like an exhausting fight, he triumphed, though with a few cracked bones. The next thing he knew, he was swarmed with reporters and journalists, shocked that someone of his age defeated an adult villain. He gleamed with pride, incredibly excited until his father dragged him from the crowd, furious. He had a very long lecture for his son, and grounded him for a month. It took him a while to acknowledge Sans’ clear ambition for heroism, but when he did, he told him to be careful, and gave him the opportunity to try it out again.

With his father’s blessing, Sans became Time Kid, one of the youngest heroes in the city.

STATS:

ATK 20 DEF 30 HP 100

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:

+ agility and speed + extremely smart— can use intel on the battlefield + time manipulation— can stop a moment in time for a certain amount of time. He can also fling time disks at people shaped like clocks, which sort of work like bones. + fusion— can fuse with other skeletons at will to help on the battlefield, as long as they consent. - low health - can only use his powers for a certain period of time before he gets tired - can get uncontrollably hyperactive, which is not good for stealthy situations. - fusion can only work when his magic level is full - he’s still developing, so magic may not work as intended at times

FUN FACTS:

- Some students at his school call him Time Kid or TK, even though his name is technically Sans. He’s in no position to complain, though. - TK is 4’6. - TK’s pronouns are he / him. - TK has ADHD! This works both for and against him in the battlefield. - He really wants to be apart of a superhero team. - He can be quite the annoyance to enemies, especially considering he defeats a lot of them. - His best friend is a kid named Frisk at their school. They’re super cool, and helped him make decisions for his superhero job!

Dance HCs for the Redacted bois :)

David: Ballet

My man likes rules and ballet has those rules. He was the best at partner work and lifted those girlies into the air with no problem. The pack teases him abt it sometimes but angel loves it. They constantly ask him to teach them variations.

Asher: Classic Jazz/Hip-hop

I think he was enrolled in jazz classes as a kid and really enjoyed it. Later on, he thought hip-hop was really cool so he watched a bunch of videos on it. yes, self-taught hip-hopper ash. he's an absolute beast at clubs and definitely dances to the songs playing at grocery stores.

Milo: BALLROOM PLEASE HE'S LITERALLY PERFECT FOR THIS ARE YOU KIDDING? He loved every aspect of it: the style, the costumes, the competition, EVERYTHING. He was really good at it too, he won like 90% of the competitions we was in. He definitely had a massive rivalry with another person and was petty abt it.

Vincent: Contemporary Ballet

not necessarily ballet but it has a certain artistic element that he enjoys. He took a few classes as a kid and then enrolled in some classes at his college. I just think that he would be really good at it and it's not super traditional.

Sam: Country Western

my guy is from the south what did you expect? anyways he went to a lot of shindigs as a kid and then went to country clubs in college. He's goated at partnering too. he spins his partners around and lifts them into the air with ease. Even tho darlin is made of steel he can still pull crazy stunts.

William: Ballet

He's literally from France and was the reason why Tchaikovsky wrote the Nutcracker. He KNOWS his stuff.

Gavin: Jazz

Okay a bit different, but I think that he enjoys the more mature jazz/theatre. Like cabaret, chicago, and moulin rouge. he LIVES for that shit. fosse is his idol bro. he occasionally surprises freelancer with a little number lol

Damien: Ballet

my man went far with this like he was GOOD. He was definitely enrolled in a professional company before he went to damn. He was super particular about every move and argued with people during variations. He even got annoyed at the girls he was paired with because they weren't certain moves correctly. The other dancers didn't like him very much, but those russian ballet teachers did, and that's why he got so many good roles in the shows he was in.

Lasko: Musical theatre

okay, hear me out here. he's a show tunes guy. he loves newsies, grease, and hamilton and was for sure a theatre kid before his powers manifested. Like can you imagine how cute that is? he's a little bit embarrassed about it but when freelancer asks him about it he pulls out the old CDs. pls so cute

Huxley: Rhythmic tap

no not theatre tap like he goes hard with the rhythms. you really wouldn't expect it but you can sometimes catch him tapping when he's sitting or waiting in line. he's an absolute beast at it.

Caelum: Lyrical

he loves all of Maddie Ziegler's solos. the likes how much emotion is put into every move and gets very invested in the stories he tells through the movement. he also really likes all the pretty costumes.

anyways this is all just my opinion and I miss dancing a little bit. :P

thank you to @sclairereject for the inspiration for the post, because i never have anything to post about half the time. however as someone who does do tarot (i'm spiritual), i wanna put my own twist to this. (ppl have their own interpretations, but the cards still have definitions)

Redacted Boys (includes Alexis) Major Arcana Tarot Cards:

I'd also like to say that these are just my takes, and things that I've noticed and felt. I don't have everyone on here, as I got tired writing this halfway through, so I don't have everyone on here.

SHAW PACK:

David Shaw is the Magician, specifically because he was trying to find his power and voice as leader, in which he did.

Milo Greer is the Chariot, because of sense of direction and will power. He tries his best to do what's right, even if it hurts him in the process.

Asher Talbot is the Strength card, due to his overcoming self-doubt, his compassion, and his bravery in situations. In reverse, this card represents self-doubt, lack of confidence, and vulnerability.

SOLAIRE CLAN

Vincent is the Lovers card, standing by his personality alone, resembling unity, balance, partnerships, and choices.

Sam is the Justice card, associated with fairness, truth, balance, and legal matters. I feel like Sam genuinely cares about what's right, and wants to help no matter what, even if he says he wants to stay out of things. He has this sense to try to make things right, even if things may get rocky. He's a healer by heart, and tries his best to do what's best for everyone in a situation.

William is the Hierophant, it is associated with education, knowledge, traditions, and institutions. I dont really have a reason for this one other than vibes.

Alexis the Judgement card, due to her past actions as well as her personality. This card represents reflection, rebirth, transition, and decision-making. In reverse, this card represents self-doubt, poor choices, stubbornness, blame, and confusion.

Porter is the Tower card. It represents trauma, destruction, unexpected change, revelation, chaos, awakening, and warning. We know that Porter is in fact "The Blade" of the Solaire Clan, and we know that he somewhat regrets it in some way, as well as him having trauma from this and his maker.

DAMN SQUAD

Gavin is The World, as it symbolizes success, fulfilment, and an end of a cycle. I feel like this represents him due to his change with the Freelancer, him being able to open up and enjoy his life with them and his friends. Gavin never really considered Aria his home, but more so just a place he lived at. In his SBW, he talks about how Dhalia has become his home, as Freelancer and the DAMN squad had helped him change his view on it (as well as change him).

Damien is the Sun, mostly in reverse, this academic over-achiever has a little bit of an ego. He's also quite pessimistic and has unrealistic expectations that were set on him by other people. However, the Sun is also associated with positivity, happiness, freedom and vitality. Which I think Damien has learned throughout his years of being friends with the Freelancer, that it's okay to take a break sometimes and just have fun.

Huxley is the Star, as he tries to maintain his happy and positive self for everyone else, turning to inspire others and give them hope with their problems. However Huxley also experiences negativity, hopelessness, failure. I think Huxley somewhat feels like the things in life get too repetitive, and he sometimes loses interest in certain things or just becomes bored with them from a tedious routine.

And finally Lasko, is the Fool, mostly from vibes, however The Fool is an air element card, which represents new beginnings, a leap of faith, and loyalty. Lasko sees the DAMN squad as family, in which he's very loyal to. I feel like during his time at DAMN, he's experienced time after time a new beginning, from Damien and him becoming friends to him and Coworker having a relationship.

It's happening again.

The one thing she'd hoped to prevent with her sacrifice, hoping to scrounge up enough time. The relics had all gone silent in past decade. Just as she had intended. She had been certain that she'd have enough time to find the relics, return the Light to its full power, enact her plan, and reunite with her family.

How foolish.

Her quest to obtain the Animus Bell was foolhardy at best. Taking a page out of Magnus's book. She knew it was a trap. The envelope appearing out of nowhere, dangling the relic over her head. It was a mistake going in. Now her joints hurt even more than they did when she was regularly running from the apocalypse and she has new nightmares to add to the rotation. Those technicolor freaks taunting her, telling her that someone in her memories, "That pudgy fellow in the blue jeans," personally handed them the relic, so doesn't this feel like he's the one punishing her and not them?

She'd done her best to wave those thoughts away. Buckle down, redouble her search efforts. Get help creating a floating base she can actually bring people to without frying their brains or broadcasting all her sins. But even that wasn't enough. She needed help, real help.

And she's getting it. But, even as the anticipation for their arrival makes it feel like she's got bees in her gut, she's haunted by the fact that the surface of the world is marred by another shiny, black pockmark.

It's happening again.

All the planning and merriment of the Midsummer Solstice, paired with the knowledge that now, thanks to the boys, she had three of the relics in her possession had put her at ease. Perhaps that was her biggest mistake, believing that somehow, someway, they'd be able to get the jump on the Hunger. But now they officially have a deadline.

Finding the Light in a year with all seven of them was hard enough most cycles. But after severing it in seven different ways, Lup gone, Davenport as good as gone, and Barry at odds with Lucretia, she has little confidence that they can do it. Half capacity and the boys don't even know what they're looking for. They don't know why.

Every single day she has to keep herself from fully inoculating them. It would make the process go so much faster.

It would stop the process because they would hate her.

It's happening again.

In the months before the redaction, everyone knew something was bothering her. She had reverted to her pre-mission self, holing up in her room for days on end, hardly talking to anyone. She took all her meals in her room, let dishes pile up. Everyone figured that, like all of them, she was taking the destruction of this plane, their new plane, hard. And she was. And by the time Lup went missing, it was already too late for anyone to try to stop her even if they had figured it out.

And she's isolating again. She can't hide it from anyone, but she does her best. If everyone is in training five and eight and ten hours a day, no one can notice she's hiding behind stacks and stacks of books in her office. Books that nobody on base could read anyway; the words would go swimming and she'd have to explain that.

Just one more.

They can do it. She can save everyone this time.

It's happening again.

She's not too proud to admit just how angry she was when she was out voted. Just because she wasn't dripping with PhDs somehow meant that her knowledge on science wasn't as valuable. The whole ship was at each other's throats for a while after that.

That's the thing with scientists, they always think they know best. That's what got them all in this mess. Made Lup vanish. Turned Barry against her. Got Maureen Miller killed. Turned Lucas Miller into a death fugitive. If, perhaps, any one of them had listened to her, they could all be fine. But no, nobody wanted to listen to Lucretia so now the apocalypse is on their doorstep once more.

It finally happened.

If Lucretia is being honest, she never dreamed they'd actually be able to stop the Hunger for good. By the time next Midsummer rolls around, everyone is fairly scattered. But, by some divine act, they all reconvene.

Perhaps calling Merle personally inviting everyone to his new home is hardly a divine act. It's tenuous. Taako can barely be in the same room as her. Barry doesn't look at her. Lup looks scared of her, but graciously tries to hide it. Davenport radiates disappointment still. Magnus and Merle do their best to lighten the atmosphere. Everyone is tense as the eclipse passes overhead. They all wait for a horrible cacophony and billions of crawling eyes.

None come. The eclipse passes and each one of them exhale a century long breath.

There's a first time for everything. Lucretia hopes that extends to forgiveness.

Redacted what ifs- Hero AU shitposting

might bring this series back i still need to write up mafia solaire clan.

They have the same powers as they do in the base universe, and unempowered people barely know about empowered people apart from heroes and villains, and D.U.M.P. is a corrupt government that controls people from reaching their true magical potential or whatever.

● DAMN Crew

-Vigilante Freelancer

Feel like Freelancer would initially be some kinda low level villainbc of how they were brought up, but then they meet Caelum and try to do more good than bad.

-Goofy Sidekick Caelum (i miss him so much)

Caelum would be Freelancer's gauge between good and bad. They'd probably become dependent on him at some point because they don't want to loose their temper.

-Hero Gavin

Gavin and FL have a complicated relationship initially and then find out abt eachothers identities and fall in love.

Also Gavin is probably the furthest thing from a hero he's just chillin with the lifestyle mandated by the corrupt government tbh.

Like he knows the government is bad but nothing compares to his life on Aria (forgot how to spell it)

-Support hero Lasko

Lasko is a support hero because of his relationship with Gavin.

-Civilian Damien

-Civilian Huxley

Lasko, Damien, and Hux are less involved in hero life bc they don't know about Caelum. Not to mention I like the idea of people who don't know about someone's trauma helping the person through it.

-Villain Vega

Hes more of a Vigilante but specifically for demon kind (i think ive barely listened to his audios) but in general hes a villain from FL's POV (cus he hurt caelum)

-Hero & Rival Kody

He's not enough of a bad guy to be a villain but he is enough of a parasite to frequent cameos in FL's routine.

● Shaw Pack

-Freelance Hero David

He takes jobs for money, and is indifferent to politics unless it effects his pack.

-Civilian Angel

Genuinely thought Davey was a normal guy (except for the moodyness n shifting). When they find out its about a year into the relationship and Angel isn't having any of that shit. Of course David told them about him being a shifter after a while but not THIS. Safe to say they'd be angry for a while.

-Civilian Asher

He's Davey's chairman, just cannot realistically be a full time hero because its too boring for him. Though he will help David any chance he gets.

Also probably the quipiest mother fucker ever-

-Civilian Baabe

They'd find out about Asher and Davey waaay before Angel and probably keep the secret too. Angel would be real hurt but heal a lot faster with Baabe.

-Hero Sweetheart

-Anti-Hero Milo

He definitely has SH realize the realities of government shit or whatever

Also Davey and Asher know about Milo being an Anti-Hero they just don't give a shit 😭

They're kinda on the run after getting a bit too violent with a villain. Then found out that the government is protecting certain villains because of the money they get if they do.

Yes, the villain darlin' got too violent with is Quinn, who tf else would it be?

-Civilian Lovely

They'd still be a civilian after finding out they have magic, despite the government pushing them to be a hero. Although, they'd probably help a lot more after turning.

Another thing- the letters from the government asking lovely to be a hero would stop after their turning. They'd probably be even more angry when realizing that than when the government harassed them. Probably resulting in a breakdown and them thinking theyre worthless now.

-Hero Figure head Vincent

I don't think Vinnie would get too much into action unless absolutely needed.

-Hero Adam

Adam would've been a hero but gave into his cravings when lovely came around looking for vincent. But he wouldve been pushing his hero reputation a lot, if anyone knew of him before he died for good, they would've said hes a terrible hero.

I dont think i need to say more, she'd still be on thin ice after sam's turning, though.

You've been turning them down since you wanted to visit and spend more time with luffy but you decided you would go, it's been long since the last interview. Plus you wanted to look for trouble. One of your victims being morgan, you loved teasing the stuck up birb;

"Thank you for showing up Miss L/n." Morgan said politely, he usually wasn't like this, he was always rude and arrogant but around you he would comport himself, he doesn't want to be unalived after all. He kept whispering to himself 'anything for the scoop'.

"Oh stop with the formalities we all know you call me rude names, behind my back." You rolled your eyes watching his feathers floof up in terror. "Ah! N-Not at a-all!" He shouted "Relax, I'm joking!" You laughed mockly, covering your mouth with your hand, waving him off with the other. And like so, the interview started;

"Regarding your most recent album 'Void century' what would you say it's about? It was as unique as your other albums but what do you want the people to get from this." He voiced awaiting your answer.

"It's quite obvious, people don't know anything about the void century because of [redacted] so i gave them an idea by releasing music that would likely be made at that time." You obviously knew what you were doing was illegal but to be honest who was going to stop you and morgan knew this, he knew all about your beef with the world gov.

Of course they could just bring a ban on the album but the question was could they? On whose authority? Imu? I think the fuck not. They were a coward and a narcissist, they were afraid, of what? You? Impossible... not or could it be of the power you held? It's both "How considerate of you to not only spread love but spread awareness too." Translation; who asked you?

"Speaking of love... The postcard you sent showed you and a particular man, is it safe to say that, that man is your partner?" A picture was showed to you,- of you in a red bikini straddling someone and a very visible hickey on your neck- the snail projector got a glimpse to show the viewers at home.

Everyone knew of their favourite couple and were aching to get more of their appearance. So you would always make postcards with your darling; but without his face or scar, that would just make it obvious, just to feed your hungry fans and tease your oppostion.

"Well..." Morgan rested on the egde of his seat not wanting to miss a single word from your mouth. "It's him." Your face heated up remembering the activities that occured on that beach minutes before that picture. "And how recent would you say it is?" "Oh it wasn't too long ago. It's quite recent actually." You smiled teasingly at the projector as if too say 'you ain't getting shit outta me.' And the viewers at home groaned.

You and luffy were a very hot topic and people have tried to exploit your lover as a weakness but they can't hurt someone if they don't know who that person is, no literally they don't know who you're dating, they only know you're dating a certain someone who supposedly has 'power' over you.

People think that if they get a hold of him they'd have control over you. Though this is true, it is also a jest because you would never let them touch luffy but to be honest your darling could protect himself quite well.

"The fans are curious." Yes, the fans yeah right. Your fans respect you and know not to cross your boundaries but the government does not, this interview was held to withdraw information from you but they forgot the only reason this interview is happening is because you decided to humour them. Seems you needed to remind them that you held the upper hand in this shit show.

"Where will you be going next for your yearly album cover inspiration." In short, 'make it easier for us to track your movements' "Haha... It wouldn't be inspirational if i told you now would it?" You laughed waving your hands at him.

"As I've said several times before, i don't like interruptions and discord so i tend to stay away from civilisation. It gives my songs a more tranquil and personal feel." In short. 'Keep your distance or i'll kill you' your smile turning a little sinister before it turned back to a normal grin- people watching the live thought it was a trick of light- morgan knew better as he shook in his suit. "A-Ah i see."

"Everyone loves your collaboration songs with various artist especially the one you sang with a supposed friend, do you plan on continuing these features?" You were surprised at this, the question seemed to be asked with no ulterior motives yet you knew better so you answered cautiously.

"Ah! Yes, i loved those too, i was so glad they were comfortable with collabing with me, they were so nice and welcoming. Funny enough most of the artist i featured with are my all time favourites so singing with them made me so happy." You beamed, the audience at home cooing at how adorable you were.

"In the last interview you said and i quote 'And wait till you hear him sing, never have i heard a voice as beautiful as his' did this indicate that you plan on featuring your lover in future projects?" Ah... So this was what they were aiming for.

"Oh he hasn't necessarily featured in any of my songs but he does appear as an adlib in most of them, he also has his name spelled out in each and every album cover I've released." You said twirling your hair around your finger.

"W-What?" Morgan was shocked, did he hit the jackpot? Were they finally going to get him- "But don't get your hopes up, it's barely visible." You smiled loving his downcast expression. "To be honest i thought you knew." You laughed cruelly before you stopped abruptly, waving your hand in a way of tell him to continue. You really were cruel weren't you. "I-I apologise for spacing out."

"You released a 'diss' track and many are wondering who it may be addressed to but most suspect a certain supernova... As he released one instigating this whole spat. Scratchmen Apoo we suspect." Your smile turned to a frown remembering the incel of a man you met earlier this year.

How dare he? Proposing you to leave your baby for a ghastly beast like him, you kicked him in the balls and walked away. The next thing you know he's making a diss track about you not only insulting you but your 'non-existent' lover apparently.

So you released yours not only making the distance between you both clear but also making sure to embarrass him enough to never show his face to the world for a while. "Ah...? And who is that? He must be insignificant if i can't remember him... Unto the next question please." Morgan sighed.

"You've been seen in different bigshot ships namely; Akagami no Shanks, Whitebeard Newgate and Eustass Kidd, is it safe to ask what you were doing with them." He slighly shook, were the marines trying to get him killed? What was with the direct questions, he broke out of his thoughts at your sweet laughter.

"The look on your face- don't worry it's totally ok. I randomly get on people's ships to test emotional singing, it's kinda of singing to match the mood you feel, if you were observant enough you'd notice that i sing upbeat songs while sailing with shanks, love songs with whitebeard and aggressive songs with eustass." You explained. They were always so welcoming except eustass he was just a tsundere.

"Some fans have noticed some phrases you used in some of yours songs and wondered if they were addressed to specific people." He cleared his throat. "Yes, most of them are." You answered. "Is it ok if you addressed some of the lyrics?" He asked nervously. "Hmm...ok shoot!" You smiled.

"Now you mention it what songs would you sing on your lovers ship." He asked out of curiosity. "Hmmm have you heard one of my recents 'spookie coochie'?" You smiled. Morgan choked, remembering the very lewd and insinuating song. "I finished recording and just felt like something was missing, he knew exactly what i needed, literally and figuratively."

You sighed your eyes glazing over at the memory. "I-It was a-all real?" Weren't you giving too much information right now, but that's what they wanted right? "Every single moan..." Morgan waved his wing signalling a short break to collect his self before continuing.

"The first 'I know all the little grannies wanna sip they tea- your single, start a riot." You laughed before answering. "Well isn't that what they do this days? Talk rubbish and sip tea." Morgan sweatdropped, how could you say that? Weren't you scared- ah nevermind, it's you we're talking about.

"The second 'This ain't no cute trend, this is the new gen' - swan song" "This was addressed to you all actually, i was referring to the supernovas as they or rather we are the new generation." Morgan hummed, he didn't like the sound of that but what could he do? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

"The third- 'Pretty please don't act like me and you is the f*cking same thing'- from your diss track nuketown." You squeezed your face in disgust. "Ugh, i rather not mention that scum's name." Morgan shook at the bloodlust you eluded, changing the subject quickly.

"A-Ah sorry! The fourth- 'Darlin', you give love a bad name'- YGLABN from your void century album" "This was to Big mom." You smiled as morgan shivered, the audacity you had. "The fifth- 'Never an honest word and that was when i ruled the world'- from your album; 'Your story'." You frowned before answering.

"This...was for the former warlord, Doflamingo donquixote, he was... Weird." Morgan furrowed his brow at your conflicted expression, were you both perhaps close? "I see... The last- 'You ain't nothing but a dog, player i get it.' -vegas another single of yours" You bursted out laughing.

"This was actually a diss track for shanks, in the song there a part that goes 'could've been what we should've been, but you lost a bet' we made a bet and he lost, he refused to pay me what he owed so i made this track to pressure him into paying back, he asked me to take it down after paying but it was a banger so i just left it." You giggled remembering the shock on his face when the song went viral.

"I have one more question before we end the interview miss l/n." Morgan shuffled around in his seat, rubbing the edges of his question cards with his feather. "Go ahead." You nodded urging him to go on.

"You released a little teaser of your new song, and it contained a snippet of a call, it was very clear yet hard to comprehend. Is this a perhaps a feature with your partner?" You furrowed your brows. "I wouldn't call it a feature, It was a late night call we had about, last month?. It fit so perfectly with the vibe of the song so i just inputted it."

You can hear and understand what he's saying but you can't just pinpoint who he is and that was exactly what you were going for. "If that's all I'll be on my way." You smiled. "A-Ah yes thank you for coming and we are hoping for more audiences with you." Morgan said.

You waved at the camera as it shut off.. "And that's a warp." "Goddammit! We came up with nothing again! That sly bitch!" Akainu slammed the table watching the live come to an end. "Relax... Your being too loud." Kizaru hummed. "We'll get her next time." He lied, knowing damn well they won't.

alister… i’ve come to sow trouble…i ask for your spitting hot takes for the character ask game: gregory for 3, 8, 16, 22!! and 25 for funsies <3 (when i first watched the movie i hated him bc i thought he was an asshole. then i discovered gregstophe and he changed my life)

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?

i have studied Gregory's canon character extensively and it's a huge reason why i love him so much (and why i so despise a certain fanon version that has eclipsed canon) so this is really hard. HOWEVER….. i do hate his canonical reaction to learning Stan failed his mission. i know it's just to make Wendy start to dislike him so she'll get back together with Stan at the end of the movie, but this was such an important mission that Gregory put so much effort into planning! it implies the death of one of his only friends, Christophe! there's no way Gregory in that moment is the same as the Gregory in the rest of the film to me. or i have to believe that's he's just SO upset that he's lashing out and his tone poorly conveys the true depth of his emotions.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

can i say the entirety of Hell//park lmao. lowkey serious. i've spoken often about how HP was a blight on Gregory's characterization, interpreting him as a generic snobbish evil twink. this (or one of the many HP spinoffs that copy-pasted this personality instead of his canon one) was unfortunately a lot of people's introduction to him as a character, which means that i see many Gregory fans taking him one of two directions: 1) they take him the sexy sadist manipulater route, cold and dismissive, hungry only for power 2) they infantalize this version, making him more like a random xD feral wild card silly guy if you were ever in the Gravity Falls fandom, they do to him what people did to Bill Cipher basically. and don't get me wrong, i'm not saying i dislike people doing that! i love how insane the GF fandom goes with Bill but it makes sense for him bc he's a chaos demon. Gregory is a revolutionary freedom fighter with occasionally poor people skills. i feel like barely any active fans remember that.

16. What's your least favorite ship for this character?

i have one beloved mutual who likes this ship so i hope she understands but….. probably greg/stella. most bc every art i see for it ever is HP-based (designs and personalities) which i am clearly not a fan of lol. also, all the love to the Estella fans out there, but she's just not for me. which makes it hard to care about ships that have her.

22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like?

ok this is a little hard to describe but i love when fics show that Gregory actually cares?? whether it be for Christophe (as most of the fics i read are gregstophe lol) or about his job or a cause or whatever. i find a lot of fics are able to show him as a caregiver, but don't always show him caring. to me, that's such a core part of who he is. he fights bc he cares, he helps bc he cares, he gets angry and sometimes flippant about others bc he cares so much about what he believes in that he puts on blinders to others' (and tbh his own) emotions. something i don't like is when people do the exact opposite of this lol.

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

i do not fully remember what i thought of Gregory specifically, but i have such a vivid memory, right after i watched BLU for the first time, going onto [social media platform redacted bc my account there is cringe af] and saying how i totally shipped Gregory and Christophe and wanted to RP them with someone lmao now... well, i still ship him with Christophe so not much has changed there i guess. but now i like to think about him much more in depth than i did back then. back when i was younger, i don't think the fic i wrote really explored the actual characters so much as it put two guys through a bunch of tropes. nowadays, i want myself and the reader to really understand the depth of those two guys and why exactly i am putting them through certain tropes.

Hmmm, Type Twos are characterized as a giving, open- hearted sort of people, leaning towards those who are similarly inclined. With that in mind, I’d pick Camelopardalis for you.

Another reason I like him for you is because of what you said about sleep. Sleeping in the presence of another person is so vulnerable and trusting so I wanted to pair you with the most trustworthy Redacted man I could think of. Also, I think Cam would be the most appreciative of the trust and love that that gesture would wordlessly express, you know? Also, I like what you said about “being a guide”; like, I feel Cam would hear that and resonate with that.

Overall, you’d have such a peaceful, serene life, and I love that for y’all. Cam would be so well fed in more ways than one, because I can see him being such a supportive, helpful sous chef once he gets the idea. I can clearly imagine you introducing him to cooking and disco, music playing while he watches you dance around the kitchen while also watching whatever’s in the pot on the stove. (I’m so sure the daemon powers and speed will be so helpful in the kitchen.) (Also, I think he was totally old enough to be around for disco, but he was more of a classical/jazz guy. This would make it even more fun to show him the genre he missed.)

I can see this playing in the morning as he gets ready for work in the morning making you breakfast since you always cook for him.

JB Smut Swap 2023 Rec List

The die has called it: I’m here to share 14 fics from the 2023 JB Smut Swap that I particularly loved and think people need to read if they haven’t already. I’m far too indecisive to declare them the best, or rank them, but I try to recommend fics with premises people might not be drawn to or I haven’t seen talked about much, that sort of thing. So here they are, in no particular order:

Look, I had a whole post reccing my gift, Ghost in the Machine and its Coda. But I have to rec it again. It’s emotional and hot and so, so good. Don’t let the warnings deter you on this, it is very much worth a read.

Smoke and Mirrors - I loved, loved, loved the rhythm of this. Kitchen competence, pegging, and a sensory delight

chains around my demons (wool to brave the seasons) - the worldbuilding in this is just wonderful, and the smut is tender and hot. Forehead touches and laughter and a really compelling world to lose yourself in for 1500 words.

what she'd do to me tonight - bodyguard/politician AU with a secret relationship and playful power dynamics with an underlying respect. What’s not to like?

Lovely Lady May - another story with a distinctive narrative style, a luscious, rolling rhythm that plays with the roles both Jaime and Brienne fulfil to each other and the wider society they live in. And heaven knows that’s a weakness of mine.

You Hold Me Together - POST FIGHT CARETAKING! POST FIGHT CARETAKING! POST FIGHT CARETAKING!

Sweater Weather - An atmospheric mod AU with Jaime, Brienne, water, and the bittersweetness of having to co-parent. The sex is totally smoking, but it’s all the ways they make space for each other that really stole my heart

just crossed swords on the killing floor - I knew I was screwed from the Thomas Crown Affair AU tag, but man. I WAS REALLY SCREWED. The language, the emotions, the steaming hot [redacted]. It is, as of this posting, a WIP but that just means you can read it twice. 😂

Knight Club - I can be real hit and miss with dubcon, but the very harsh gender stuff in this just pulled me in and kept me engrossed. It’s dark, but if that’s your jam it’s 17K of utterly compelling dark

yes, and - Look, nobody who knows me is surprised this one is on the list. Gentle femdom and mouthy Jaime and well-negotiated kink? Even before the very clever callbacks to canon and the delightful image of Brienne in Regency menswear I was doomed

so all the world can see - If breeding kink is your thing, this is great, and if breeding kink isn’t your thing… well, it’s still great. It’s soft and sweet and feels authentic

What You Want - Jaime in a suit and heels, waiting for Brienne? I love fics that play with gender presentation, and this one was funny and hot so #winning

Figure It Out - Exes meet at a party, fuck in a bathroom, there’s a mirror, I mean, honestly, that sort of sells itself, doesn’t it?

I’m cheating here. The exchange had TWO Beauty and the Beast AUs: Certain as the sun includes Brienne as the beast and a quest for revenge, and by fang and claw is a beast!Jaime with some delicious riding of the dubcon line. It was fascinating to see the same story, one that is already woven into canon, told in different ways. So it gets to count as one rec

And so here we are at the end of the list and I’m still dithering and thinking of other stories that could have been chosen. So if these didn’t whet your appetite, make sure to check out the whole collection!

Adding a Black Woman to a Small Human Cast With Many Aliens

I’m working on the early stages of a comic idea and I was wondering if you had any tips for people struggling to be as inclusive as they want when they have a small cast to work with- it’s a SciFi piece, and my story involves a lot of alien/human interaction, and there are really only 4-5 ‘main characters’ that are fully human. While they’re all POC, I’ve realised that my main human cast lacks any Black women.

There is a Black man in the main cast, and there are some secondary/tertiary Black women characters who show up throughout the story. One of the other main characters is a half-human, half-alien princess who is a dark skinned Black woman, but I don’t want to contribute to the existing trend of a ton of SciFi casting WOC and Black women in particular in exclusively alien roles but not including them in the human cast.

My proposed solution: Black lesbian and Black Mexican women characters, Black character works for the Black-coded Alien princess

A lot of my human characters are from the American southwest (California, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, etc), and several of my main human cast have Mexican-American heritage. Two of them are adult siblings, an older brother and a younger sister, with a white dad and a Mexican-American mom. I decided a while ago that I wanted their mom to end up with a girlfriend/wife (in either a healthy polyamory way or a divorce way, NOT a cheating way, to be clear), and I’ve always pictured the girlfriend as a Black lesbian in STEM with a caffeine addiction and a cool shoulder tattoo- I’m thinking, now, that it would make sense to have her be the younger sister’s other bio mom. That way, I have a mixed Black & Mexican woman in the main human cast, plus I get to include a blended family that has half/stepsiblings with a healthy, positive dynamic, which is super important to me as someone who grew up never seeing families like mine except in ‘evil stepfamily’ situations.

Light skin and dark skin power dynamics

That ‘solution’ does make me worried about running into issues with the half-alien princess being darker skinned than the human woman; even though there are other aliens of her species with varying skin tones, I’m worried it might come off as exotifying dark skin. Then again, if I make the Black human woman darker and the half-alien princess lighter, I end up with a darker skinned Black woman working for a lighter skinned Black princess, and there’s some pretty obvious and colorist issues there, especially since the princess is meant to be, like, ethereally beautiful and graceful, as princesses tend to be, and the human woman is (and I mean this endearingly) a walking disaster. It’s probably relevant to mention that the Black man in the main cast is already dark skinned, so it’s not like there wouldn’t be ANY dark skinned Black humans in the main cast if I go with making the human woman lighter, but even that can have problematic connotations- I know a lot of media will feature dark skinned Black men but only light skinned Black women.

First of all, your efforts to include dark-skinned Black women are appreciated! One can’t be expected to represent every race, ethnicity or underrepresented group in one story, as it’s generally just not feasible. Of course, making the full and conscious effort to be inclusive of under and misrepresented races and backgrounds in your current and future works is nice and very welcome in terms of representation - and it’s what we’re all about here!

Now, there are situations where I personally believe that it’s important to make that extra effort, and your story presents such situations.

Men of X race are there; the Women of Color are not

I take special note when there’s a man of a certain race that is included but not Women of Color of that race as well. It’s a trend for Black men / Black women especially or, as you noted, if she’s included and in a romantic way she often needs to be light. Or, if a dark-skinned Black woman makes an appearance, she’s the best friend or comedic relief and not seen as particularly desirable or someone to care about beyond being entertainment or even a punching bag.

Non-humans of X race exist, but humans of X race do not

It’s eyebrow-raising to me when stories include Black-coded aliens and non-humans but no humans in a story where indeed other humans exist. It’s insightful for you to take note of that as well.

A story is set in a region where the population is mostly X race - but they’re not in the story

Now, this situation actually doesn’t seem to be implied in your story, but it’s worth mentioning for others. A story that is featured in, for example, Nigeria or even Fantasy Nigeria that has no Nigerian, Black or African-diaspora people in general in the cast (or are just minor background characters)…..oh no.

So! It’s great that you took notice of the matter and decided to do something about it in your story.

Black mom and Black / Mexican daughter

Your solution to add a Black mom to the story sounds fine. Keep in mind the mammy and your typical tropes that can come from Black mothers in stories.

I may be getting some details cloudy, but it appears there’s a dark-skinned Black Mexican daughter from the relationship? And this Mexican + Black daughter serves a Black-coded alien princess that you’re not sure should be dark or lighter skinned? I hope I got that right!

There’s indeed power dynamics there if you go to the Black-coded princess with light skin. If you’re not wanting to create that dynamic or explore it in the narrative, you could always make them both darker skinned. There are many shades of brown and very brown skin. They don’t need to be the same shade or tone of brown.

Also, I think it’s okay for the alien princess to be graceful and the Black character to be a “walking disaster” as you say, as 1) Black characters need not be perfect 2) There are more Black women characters. And this is, again, made better if the princess doesn’t have to be light skinned.

Also, disclaimer as I’m not Mexican: but having a prominent Mexican character that is not in a servitude role would most likely be welcome! I’ll let Mexican followers comment on that.

The river in the Outer Wilds DLC represents the flow of time.

The most obvious evidence for this is that the records you find along the river are in chronological order. You find the record of the owlk discovering the Eye in the earliest, least built up part of the Stranger, and the record of their study of the Eye and how they reacted to that in the second area. The second area is more raised up, and also has their church of the Eye looking building. You find the heavily redacted record of what they did after that near the extra technological lab in the cliff.

And all through those section, the current propels you along while you're on the river, and you only need the raft controls to steer. Then you get to the reservoir, the current stops, and the upbeat river music is replaced by a quieter track with an accompaniment that sounds like a ticking clock. You can find another record that's set even later than the last one, and is even more redacted.

The river doesn't flow at this point because the owlk dammed it, and that ties into their rejection of change. I don't think I can elaborate without being more free with spoilers, so continuing below!

So according to Solanum, the Eye of the Universe represents extreme changeability, and you have to solve a bunch of puzzles to get to her to hear this, so she's probably right, at least on a thematic level. In rejecting the Eye, the owlk rejected the concept of change, something that inevitably comes with the flow of time. They wanted things to go back to how they were before they saw a really cool thing in the sky and destroyed their homeworld over it, and since that wasn't possible, they made an unchanging simulation so that they could pretend. Metaphorically damming up their time.

The programmers don't even bother fixing all the glitches they found during development. It's been hundreds of thousands of years, you could probably get around to making it less easy to fall through a loading zone.

The simulation also becomes progressively more built up the further along the river you go, like its real world equivalent, until you get to the equivalent of the reservoir and there's almost nothing there.

But they can't keep things dammed up forever, and halfway through the game's time loop, the dam breaks, literally and metaphorically. It's because the ship starts to accelerate into deep space, but it was that or be incinerated. And if it broke that easily, it probably would have failed on its own anyway.

All they did was put off change until it exploded through and killed a bunch of people without warning and destroyed their stuff. And I assume they had a mechanical reason put a dam on their spaceship in the first place, maybe for power generation or heat distribution, so it doesn't look great for the surviving group of owlk. Or the Prisoner, but the Prisoner probably isn't as into eternal life as the rest of them seem to be.

The simulation also becomes progressively more built up the further along the river you go, but I didn't want to say that above the readmore.

Also, the music for the reservoir, River's End, doesn't play after the dam breaks. What actually convinced me at first of this river = time thing was the melody that you eventually hear in that song. It's a minor key version of Travellers, which plays nowhere else in the DLC other than the ending sequence. I'm not 100% certain that this is why it's in River's End, but it is the song that plays at the end of the universe.

In conclusion, the river in the Outer Wilds DLC is a metaphor for the flow of time.

Synopsis

You were at the top of your class. You had your pick of where you wanted to go the Silver Guardians or the White Hawks. But during Graduation, something happened. You lost control of your body and watched as you killed your friends and hurt several people. When you got control again you woke up in jail. Sentence for ten years. No one listened or cared what you said after all killing the United States President's kid was what everyone cared about. What makes it worse you don't remember the 10 years and your abilities are gone.

Now the only thing left to do is to try and rebuild the life that was taken from you. Noah the man who raised you gave you a choice. It was the only choice you had. To become an Instructor for the White Hawks teaching young Heros. He also gave you a small team to be in charge of three students no one can seem to get along with or lead. With you in charge of a team, you can get answers. Can you show these three students what it means to be a hero, or will you lead them to a darker path? Will you get answers for what happened to you?

When you first met, they ignored you but as you fought together you gained their respect as a hero. But they have never talked to you as a friend almost like they resent your ability to win everyone over like a magic spell. Can you get them to see that you truly care for them?

Agent Huxley of the Directive of Specter. He is an operative that like most is born without powers but underwent extreme genetic alteration. Whenever he is involved and sees you, he makes sure you are not welcome. Like all operators, he wears a mask that covers his face, and the suit covers his whole body.

When you are working as an instructor, he helps you adjust. When you see him look at you, there is this feeling that he knows something you don't.

11. Blaze- M (RO)

Description- Once a Hero who turn Villain. One of the only people who can run at the speed of light. Is the most wanted man for the crimes he committed. You heard once he would do anything for the innocent.

Skin- tan

Hair- Auburn

Powers- Super Speed, Time-Space Manipulation, Intangibility, Accelerated Healing.

12. Atlas- F (Ro)

age- 20

height- 5.6 ft

One of Silver Guardians' strike team leaders. Atlas is well-regarded as very laid back and even fun by her teammates. Then she sees you. She always has her eyes on you. The other thing you notice is she seems drawn to you.

Skin- Beige

Eyes- Ice Green

Hair- Ash Blonde, lower back length.

Powers- Sympathetic teleportation, magical particle manipulation.

13. Atargatis or Attina- F (RO)

Age- 602

height- 5.8

The crown princess of the Atlanteans. You know her father King Vomox. She is one of the richest people in the world and it shows. Of course, her being a half-breed between an Atlantean and a Siren shows. She seems to want to be friends when she meets you but you suspect she wants more than friendship.

Skin- Light grey with small shiny scales

Eyes- Green/Pink

Hair- Black, shoulder-length,

Powers- Empathic Voice, Water Manipulation, Magical object (Spear)

14. Psyche- F (RO)

height- 5.5

One of the villains is a part of the bigger community of villains. She is not seen as regularly anymore by the public. But you remember seeing her once and she took down an entire strike team without breaking a sweat.

Hair- White, upper back length.

Powers- bone manipulation, memory manipulation, and memory erasure.

Aside from an obvious choice here in concerns to a certain Archer….

Odysseus for sure. His personality? Immaculate. Arrogant, but he knows what he can and cannot do, and that is to be respected. That man is a go getter and no matter what hardship comes to him, he overcomes it. That level of determination is immensely attractive to Ozy as is the other’s intense sense of loyalty as well. Get you a husband that will go through hell and back to get back to you. All these traits together would deem the other worthy of consideration most especially.

Constantine. He would marry him so he can take over his Empire. Fool! That was his plan all along! But also he’s pretty so that’s a bonus to it all, but really it’s so he can take over his empire.

Kill:

Ashwatthama. There’s no profound reason for this like him disliking him or anything. If anything, he finds Ash to be pretty neat with all his anger and that burning passion for battle. He just wants to see this fabled warrior in action and defeat him all the same JFHKSJHFKSFS. THAT’S IT.

Daybit. Same reason as Ash, except with Daybit being as incredibly powerful and intelligent as he is, Ozy finds that both attractive and dangerous. Any regular human who can just casually go toe-to-toe with a Servant and be their own one-man-army is definitely worthy of every ounce of respect he has. As a result of this respect that he feels towards the Crypter, he would deem them worthy of killing by his hand and just as worthy of remembrance too.
