Echoing!
okay another self indulgent piece ugdsudg. For context, I will make noise at friends/people i’m close with, like meowing or simply- ‘Woomy!’ and i usually get a response and when I don’t I’m a lil disappointed. The idea of having to explain it to some f/os has been bouncing in my head a bit gaaah. does… anyone else do this? Or am i just an outlier here
- okay so like, they’d probably notice that you make noise at them, and are a bit confused about it
- even more so if they notice that small look of disappointment
- so one day they ask about it; “So uh, why do you keep… making noise at me?”
- blink. “Oh, uh,” quietly “i want you to echo me-“
- “what”
_ “i want you to echo my noises.”
- you explain that you make noise at them so they’ll mimic it back at you as a sort of.. uh. *hand waves* cute interaction???
- it’ll take a bit but they’ll come around to it, some take longer than others just because of how ‘silly’ it feels to do so
- across the house : “Meow!”
- faintly from another room: “meow.”
- queue some happy light giggles at it from you
Sorry it’s so short i can’t think of anything else lol, this couldn’t stay in my drafts. Do hope this relates to,, someone. Maybe i’m just extra childish

one of my moots posted about numbers WHICH REMINDED ME, i’ve got a weird thing with numbers where i know what colour they are and (sometimes) their gender and age?! also personality sometimes??? i’ve got no clue if this is an actual thing or if i’m just utterly bonkers, but i think it’s kinda cool. here is a list of all my information on numbers that my brain for some reason decided is correct:
0-white but kinda glowing, nonbinary (ironic lmao), very floaty and ethereal
1-sometimes red, sometimes yellow (but if it’s yellow it has a red outline, if it’s red it has a black outline), very full of itself, arrogant and cocky
2-green and blue, watercoloury vibes, it’s also a fish, he like to bounce
3-green (sage-y kinda green or neon green if you write it with a flat bit on top (yk what i mean)), feels like the most even number but is still odd
4-brown, boy, tall n lanky, shy
5-pink, pink oh my god SO pink. a young girl. defo wears princess dresses, really likes being called madame. bubbly.
6-navy blue, 20-something guy, plays football. afraid of 9 (canon)
7-yellow (with a darker yellow/orange outline), girl, long skirt type person, loves autumn, does dance.
8-green, proud, man, knows who he is, stands tall, glasses, corduroy trousers in earth tones.
9-red and black at the same time but not together, it’s just solid red and solid black at once (that makes no sense??!! (yuh huh (nuh uh (shut up (you shut up!)))))
10-grey, old. tired but sweet, kinda old person to sneak you sweets. both a man and woman and neither at once, but it also changes every minute. wizard vibes.
i can also kinda do it with names, for example my names max and it’s red, smudged like wet paint someone accidentally touched but also like chalk on pavement that’s been stepped on.

The first story will always be an important and precious part of a writer because it's the one which started it all .The first story which we hand pick from our imaginations and give them life no matter how " bad" or "cringey" it is.
But one thing which surprised me the most is that the first muse which I wanted to write as a story. Is actually the opposite of my actual personality ?!
Like as a reader I always prefered and loved reading books with happily ever afters and sunshine and happiness and romance of teenagers around my age.
BUT GUESS WHAT
My short story is about a 29 yr old single mother coping with the grief of his husband's death who was the only who has ever made her felt loved and try to raise her child single handedly
HELLO I've never read books or consume any sort of media with grief or melancholy SO I DIDN'T KNOW WHERE I GOT THIS IDEA FROM? THIS IS SO WEIRD TO ME

i dont think ive seen this talked about but a specific way people express that they are a fan of a musician online makes me feel so uncomfortable? it's the whole streaming the music thing. it just feels Wrong to me, like people are more interested in playing make-numbers-go-up instead of actually enjoying the music and i just do not understand it at all

Do any other guys feel like creeps for enjoying wlw media??? Like women (especially straight women) consume mlm media ALL the time but the moment us guys does the opposite we are 'predators'. Idk it really gets under my skin especially since although I'm queer I have a heavy preference for women and I know I'm not being creepy it still makes me feel bad

Characters who start out sad and angry and then go through character arcs unwillingly and are forced out of their bad and toxic mentalities through a metaphorical or literal transformation, but are still on some level stuck in that mindset?
Like, “no. no no no no this can’t be happening. What did I just do? What’ve I BECOME?” when it’s literally something like realizing they might actually have a crush on that one person or realizing that they really really need hugs and general affection?
And better yet, when it’s framed COMEDICALLY?
That is good shit right there.

Okay this is probably (definitely) a little odd and irrational, but...
Does anyone else carry the superstition that their handknits become imbued with the feelings experienced while knitting?
Or, even more irrational, that their handknits become imbued with the mood and intention of the media they play while knitting?
It might be just me, and it's okay if it is. But I HAVE to pick the right media and background noise for my knitting, not just to keep me entertained, but to match the knitted project itself.
Like I'm about to embark on a baby blanket for a colleague, and in my head that means I will HAVE to play Studio Ghibli films and Jim Henson's The Storyteller and the Children's Adventure from The Wizard, The Witch and The Wild One (new Worlds Beyond Number podcast, do yourself a favour and join on Patreon, it is BREATHTAKING and WONDERFUL and I'm newly obsessed), so that the little one's blanket absorbs all that joy and kindness and wonder and curiosity and creativity to wrap them up in.
If I'm knitting a cute crop cardigan with a real Regency-inspired romantic vibe, I'll be playing various Austen adaptations and Beethoven symphonies and concertos, so that the cardigan will carry the romance and elegance and poise of that media within it.
If I'm knitting a chunky yarn cowl, I'll play Brave, or traditional Scottish and Irish folk music (completely idiosyncratic given that chunky yarn is so damned recent and historically knits from those regions have been made with 4 ply or finer), so that the cosy and rustic vibes imbue the piece.
And so on it goes.
And I KNOW it's completely irrational, but it just makes me so satisfied when I have the right background entertainment to match the aesthetic and purpose and intention of the project I'm knitting.
And I just wanted to know - am I the only one?

That moment when you hear one tiktok audio of a song you’ve listened to hundreds of times over the past couple years and suddenly there’s a completely new universe in your head that just kinda appeared full of angst and new characters with an entire backstory and they don’t even have names from how fast your brain is going

(Last post for today) I don’t know if it because I’ve rewatch the show so many time, watch clips so many times or just my brainrot is making my brain become tomato soup.
But I just realize that the demons mostly have animal motifs in some way, like Crowley= snakes. Beelzebub= flys. Hastur= toads. And Furfur= cat(?) (question mark as in I don’t think it it necessary a cat, but furfur kinda sound cat like-). What is in that sulfur??
Idk. Don’t mind me y’all, Phantom’s brain just work different like that one post about Lin Manuel Miranda this is where brainrot does to me

Anyone else have the ships you ship because "yeah there's no way they're not going to pair this character up with someone and if they're going to do it I'd rather it be with this character, who I enjoy watching them interact with, then the other options"
