being a white afab nonbinary can be difficult, occasionally.

not in the way that i am invalidating enbys who are also part of other minorities, but as in i'm now being labelled a "fake" enby because of the pushback against their terrible lack of representation. just because i'm white and afab.

i find it atrocious that such little human, nonwhite, non-androgynous or fem enby rep exist still.

however, whoever has decided that injustice is solved by redirecting the injustice towards the majority is so sorely mistaken.

i should not have to "prove" my gender just because i was born female and white. they are mutually exclusive. poc, amab enbies should be lifted, and that is the whole of it.

i might get hate but i am not looking for sympathy. i just find it ridiculous how people have decided to address this problem.

i TOTALLY get you on this one. i'm also a huge theatre kid and there's also a hierarchy clique thing that happens here. it's very frustrating, especially because i get labelled as "one of those theatre kids" outside of the department.

most of the theatre kids in there themselves act like stereotypical popular kids even though they're still at the lower end of the social hierarchy. it makes it SO frustrating trying to interact with people who refuse to acknowledge you're on the same level.

do you guys ever feel like an outcast even in a group full of outcasts. like i'm autistic and even in groups full of neurodivergent people i'm still excluded sometimes. i don't understand why

people need to admire life's little joys more often. i go to the grocery store. i play some nice lofi and pick my favorite produce. the bokchoy is green.

just stop and admire the greenness of the lovely bokchoy. a century ago, bokchoy would be only for rich people because it was so expensive to import.

now you can get your nice bokchoy whenever you want. that's beautiful.

start understanding why life is so worth living through the little things. explore how enjoying those little things helps you make the big joys happen.

if you, a student, define "your hardest" as zero breaks with constant work done and ultra-efficiency,

and you beat yourself up for not being able to do that,

you're not going about studying the right way. no person can function at "101%" like that (without destroying themselves), and 100% shouldn't be viewed that way, either.

no matter what you put into your work, whether it's 80%, 50%, or even just 5%, you're still doing 100%. it's about what you can do right now, not the hypothetical maximum.

be kind to yourself, for real. if nothing else, you're doing something, and that's always way better than nothing.
