✨Upon the altar's embrace, roots intertwine with purpose, grounding us in the whispers of earth. Through flame and elements, focus blooms—a dance where intention finds its rooted home.

Practitioner tip for those who may not have the space to work on their ancestor altar or main altar:
I brought a laptop desk to use as my “working altar”, this way I can get everything done in a specific location. I normally place a prayer cloth under it for me to sit on, my supplies under it and all my working materials on top. Everything I need in this little area, my incense, my bath mix I made, my working candle for my light source, my oils along with my herbs, as well as my candles for jar work and lamps. I found mine at Roses for less than $10 but they sell them anywhere you could even use one of those breakfast trays, I have one of those as well as it works great. You could also get cloths for cover if you wish but since I’m doing candle magic tonight no cloth for me.

Busy, busy day doing a major redesign, cleansing, and charging of all altars. Hard work, but this is something that I always recommend to do before the end of the year, and one must lead by example, right?
My altars are not permanent; as my path, my needs, and I myself evolve, they do so too. They follow my inspiration at any given time, and also point in the direction I want to focus on; they remind me of my goals, and act as a catalyst for future change, just like a spell does.
They are not tied to one practise or religion, and the statues can represent specific entities, and also concepts, just as I choose. Because it is my practise, and my life, and no-one else's, and remaining in a static place is not for me. Because I am a child of Exu Eleggua, I crave evolution, and I welcome change.
I have many plans and project to expand my work during 2024, that will be revealed in their due time; some of the seeds of those projects are being planted today. We are a bit tired (it's the evening already in Tenerife), and covered in (magical) dust, but the energy in the house is electrifying.
So remember: if you want to change/update/transform your altar, do it. No deity or Spirit will ever punish you for doing so, unless you are incredibly disrespectful and sacrilegious with your altar items, on purpose. Spirits care way less about altars than most people think.
(Note: pic is from several years ago – today's work will remain secret!)

☀️Deities☀️
I see so many people criticizing others over their relationships, or lack thereof, with their deities, so here are some reminders:
Not having deities is okay.
Having just a devotional relationship with your deities is okay.
Having a working relationship with your deities is okay.
Playing games with your deities is okay.
Harmless jokes with your deities are okay.
Doing fun things with your deities is okay.
Doing devotional offerings for your deities is okay.
Giving physical offerings to your deities is okay.
Not being able to do certain offerings for deities is okay.
Having an altar for your deities is okay, no matter the size.
Not having an altar for your deities is okay.
Laughing with your deities is okay.
Crying with your deities is okay.
Having genuine conversations with your deities is okay.
Being unable to hear/see deities is okay.
Being able to hear/see deities is okay.
Not being able to communicate through divination is okay.
Using divination as a key element in communication is okay.
Not calling on deities during spellwork is okay.
Asking deities to help during spellwork is okay.
Asking deities for help in general is okay.
This is your relationship with your deities in your practice. Don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't do. 🫶
It's 2am, please forgive me if there are any mistakes!

Ancestor work can include pets btw
I never knew a lot of my deceased family, and the ones I did know I didn't know well. I loved my great grandmother, but in reality I didn't know her well, I still honor her and my grandpa who died when I was 3, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't closer to my cats.
My cats were with me my whole life, and theirs, they're my children. I soothe them to sleep by cradling them when they're scared, I sing to them and they sing back, I sleep with them every night. They are my whole world, and I'd do anything for them.
So of course they're honored after death like a blood family member, of course I leave them offerings and speak to them beyond the grave, of course there is space for them on my altars.
Don't let anyone tell you pets deserve less honor than humans in your practice.
